Hi.
April Ajoy
Hello everybody.
Tim Whitaker
Hi. Welcome into the show, everyone. I'm Tim Whitaker.
April Ajoy
I'm April Ajoy.
Tim Whitaker
Yeah, we got it. We got a pretty busy show today. There's a lot going on in the world. I have good news, bad news situation. The bad news is that we are still kidnapping immigrants and we are fighting protesters who are protesting those conditions. But I have good news, April, and we'll get into this. We are going to have a massive UFC fight on the White House lawn to celebrate how great America is. So it's all okay. It's a wash. Really. It's a wash. So yeah. So we got a pretty packed show today.
April Ajoy
So much better. You know, me too. What I've always wanted more than health care, more than lower taxes, more than like good infrastructure and can't do that. Like I just want a UFC fight in Washington D.C. that where I don't live.
Tim Whitaker
Well, look, April, I don't want to be splitting hairs here, but technically we are building an infrastructure like you know, esque stage on the White House lawn that has infrastructure. Yeah, temporary, but it still counts. So counts. So friends, if you're just joining the stream, welcome in. We are Tim and April. We go live Every Thursday at 12:00 Eastern on YouTube and on Substack. If you're watching on YouTube right now, please hit the like button. Make sure to subscribe to the channel. If you're watching on substack. Hi. And I can see you. Make sure to tap the heart button over there as well. Really quick for banter. Our man Tandyman has. Has. Has confessed and has repented of his sin with a super chat. I think we should read right, right away.
April Ajoy
We need the pad.
Tim Whitaker
Tandy man, do I have the pad still? Wait, do I have the pad? I don't know if I do. Hold on, hold on. Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait. There it is. Lower a little bit.
April Ajoy
Like a good Christian boy you are.
Tim Whitaker
We have not done a repentance in a minute. This is like old school Tim and April, but if you were not here on the live. Last week Tandyman threw out a. A sword drill challenge for April and I.
April Ajoy
The. The fake Bible verse.
Tim Whitaker
Yeah. Second Hezekiah something. April and I not thinking twice, but also in the back of our head being like that sounds sus, but whatever. We did a live sword triple on the air.
April Ajoy
Listen, in my defense, I didn't see the two. I only saw hezekiah and my brain put that in between Hegai and Zechariah for some reason. That's like, that's where that book is. I went to the prophecy, saw second Hezekiah, like, oh, no, I. That is not a book. We are being played.
Tim Whitaker
So Tandyman has offered a super chat. He says peace offering. Second Hezekiah was not a troll or to embarrass you, it is an inside joke in the Tandy house and I thought you would find it funny. Didn't realize you would fall so hard for it.
April Ajoy
We did fall so hard.
Tim Whitaker
We did. I love you guys and this Thursday community. It's always fun. Thank you, Tandyman. We accept because you gave us a super chat. In particular, we accept your apology.
April Ajoy
You know, so all is forgiven, you know, and it was. Sometimes you have embarrassing moments and that's okay, you know, we are but flesh and blood.
Tim Whitaker
No, we are like. We are used to the Internet. We have had our fair share of gaffes. I will say, in my six years of doing this, that might have been one of my biggest ones live.
April Ajoy
I know. You know what, Beecher? I said, beecher, did you see that? We fell for a fake Bible verse. And Beecher's like, yeah, I did. And then they said, but y' all handled it like jams. I'm like, okay. I mean, when that happens, you just gotta laugh at yourself.
Tim Whitaker
Yeah, it was funny. Like, I. I wasn't really embarrassed. I felt dumb in like, a very comedic way of like, oh, my gosh, Tim, I cannot believe it. So anyway, yeah, Tandyman, thank you so much. It's all good. And like I said, it was hilarious. Me and April laughed after we ended the live as well. So. Okay, let's see here. Gosh, we have a lot to get to today, don't we?
Unidentified Guest
Geez.
Tim Whitaker
Hmm.
April Ajoy
Yeah. Well, should we start serious? And then that way we can. As we get further and further into delirium as the show goes on, we're not talking about, like, actually awful things.
Tim Whitaker
Yeah, we could do that. So. Oh, the pad's coming back. Yeah.
April Ajoy
Okay. We're supposed to be serious, like in a.
Tim Whitaker
Sorry, it was an accident. Okay. One man show over here.
April Ajoy
Okay?
Tim Whitaker
So if you have not seen the news, in my state, the great state, by the way, of New Jersey, there's been a real situation happening. So many of you are aware of the Delaney, I'm gonna call it, a concentration camp that has been housing immigrants. In fact, one of my friends, his mother, was put in this place back when ICE raided Their business, Jersey Kebab. And there's a hunger strike happening in Delaney in New Jersey at an immigration center because of the inhumane conditions that detainees say they are in. And because of that, there's been a huge escalation of protests. And here's why Kevin has been following this. He Sundays it's been six days since the hunger strike at Delaney hall started and three days since mass ICE agents arrived. It's important to remember that these ICE agents do not operate out of this facility. There are not usually dozens of agents here. They are here as a response to the attention this strike is getting. Protesters have been outside of Delaney hall for a full year. It was peaceful and well documented. This escalation was a choice by DHS Secretary Mark Wayne Mullen. And I actually have a video here so you can see some of the violence. What's going on here? You go. Right for me. Crazy, man. Crazy. It also needs to be said that these. These detention centers are privately owned. There's a lot of money in kidnapping immigrants and housing them in. In inhumane conditions. And so this has been going on for a while, to the point where our Senator Andy Kim showed up, and there's this iconic picture of him trying to keep things peaceful. He was, in fact, pepper sprayed or was affected by pepper balls that were being shot out of the back of that vehicle and had to have his eyes, you know, flushed out with water. So it's. It's not good, friends. I mean, you know, I know that we're all trying to keep up with the fire hose of information, and every day there's a new crisis, which, by the way, is very much manufactured. That's part of how fascism works, is they want you to feel overwhelmed, like you can't keep up. But ICE is still doing what they're doing. Immigrants are still being kidnapped, and there are protests happening that are escalating more and more violently because of what this administration is doing, sending more ICE agents to Delaney hall to try and quell protests over inhumane conditions. By the way, our own governor was denied access to the facility. I don't know legally how that works. I don't know how a privately owned facility is allowed to say no to the governor of the state, but she was denied access. It's a huge thing. But we are tracking that story. I'm keeping tabs on it. I'm hoping I can go up there. It's about an hour and a half away from me. I want to go and try and cover it. But we do want to bring that to everyone's attention, this is happening currently in real time.
April Ajoy
Yeah. I mean, the news has kind of moved on because, you know, the Iran war, Epstein, all the people getting fired or resigning, the ufc, it just feels like a circus. But it is important to remember ICE is still really mistreating our immigrant neighbors violently. And the protesters and, you know, families are still ripped apart. There are still children in these detention centers. It's.
Tim Whitaker
And by the way, I saw a clip, I think it was the DHS secretary said on, I think, a Fox News interview about what's happening in New Jersey, that as punishment, they're considering stopping international flights from landing in Newark, New Jersey, as punishment for these protests. So it's really, I mean, look, no surprise, but it's incredibly vindictive, incredibly vile stuff what's happening. And we want to at least keep you guys apprised that we, you know, let, you know, let you know that we are tracking this, we are keeping tabs on it, and we'll keep you updated as things develop.
April Ajoy
Yeah, so we'll keep an eye on that. Okay. Now, we are going to get into the more circusy things that are happening. We mentioned at the top of the show, but there is actually a UFC fight that's going to happen in the lawn of. In front of the White House. And I saw the images of, like, they've started construction. When is the actual fight?
Tim Whitaker
Sometime in June. It's coming up. It's. It should be pretty soon. Here's. Here's the. This is. Well, this is what they want to look like. Yeah.
April Ajoy
Wait, that's Trump's birthday, I think.
Tim Whitaker
Is it really?
April Ajoy
I think so, because I remember that was my daughter's, my oldest initial due date. Oh, no, don't be Trump's dad.
Tim Whitaker
The way they worship this man is. I mean, I. I can remember it is June 14th.
April Ajoy
Yeah.
Tim Whitaker
I was conservative growing up. I don't remember ever thinking about, I don't even know, Bush's birthday. There was no celebration for Bush, for. In his. I just. The whole thing is so icky.
April Ajoy
Yeah. Well, and not to justify it by any means, but it is also Flag Day, which I think is when they celebrate. I think was when they are celebrating the 250th anniversary?
Tim Whitaker
Well, did you know that. Did you know that there was a committee put together over a decade ago for the 250th anniversary, and the Trump administration essentially sidestepped that whole committee and is doing their own thing with their own committee? Did you know that? No. Yes. There was a Group over a decade ago put in place to plan this year. And the Trump admin was like, meh, thanks, but we'll do our own thing. This is. It's a complete hijacking. But anyway, this is what. This is like an artist's rendition of what it would look like a cage match taking place outside on the front lawn of the White House. And this is the current situation. There we go. Look at that. Gorgeous.
April Ajoy
Kind of looks like a roller coaster.
Tim Whitaker
It's just a monstrosity.
April Ajoy
It, honestly, it looks like something you would see in that movie Idiocracy. Yeah, that I feel like almost weekly now. I tell Beecher, my spouse, I'm like, idiocracy is supposed to be a fictional movie. It's not supposed to be this template that we follow. It's not supposed to be real life. This. This looks like satire. I know the fact that the president. I mean, ufc. No offense to anyone who likes ufc. I used to. I used to watch UFC a lot too.
Tim Whitaker
I was a big fan back in the day, and the days of Anderson Silva was like my era of UFC watching.
April Ajoy
Right. But I. I'll just say ufc, in my opinion, doesn't give. Classy. Right. It doesn't give, like.
Tim Whitaker
Right.
April Ajoy
It just feels like something like, immature in a way, like, to be like, really into it. And no offense, like, I get it, like, you know, like it's a sport, you people beat each other up, whatever. But it does feel like I just. I get bad vibes and it just feels like, like to be like a presidential official event. I don't know. It's just. It's kind of. It's gross.
Tim Whitaker
Here's what I would say about that.
Emily
Trashy.
Tim Whitaker
So the UFC originally, they. They bought like an entertainment. Fighting. It was called the Ultimate Fighting Championship, I think is what it was. And in the beginning, it was only on pay per view. There were no rules, no weight classes. It was incredibly, like, ugly stuff. Okay. Dana White and this other guy bought it. They. And they tried to clean it up and kind of make it like a very pop culture thing. Right? And in a way, they kind of did, like, they put rules and regulations and fighters. It's a sport. Like mixed martial arts is a legitimate form of sport. However, in my opinion, over the years, it's got the crowd that it attracts, and Dana White himself have kind of just nosedived into this, like, Kid Rock esque, like, I hate to say, like a, like a white trash kind of culture. A little bit.
Melinda Hale
Yeah.
April Ajoy
Are we allowed to say that?
Tim Whitaker
I don't know, but I'm white, so I'm going to say it kind of white trashy. But the thing is, it's like a lot of the fighters, especially, like, you know, all of them. I mean, you think about someone like Anderson Silva, arguably, arguably one of the greatest of all time, amazing mixed martial artists from Brazil, not even American, you know, so as far as the fighting itself goes, amazing technique, really amazing what these athletes can do, but the environment around it has just nosedive. And the fact that Trump and Dana White are so ecstatic about bringing a cage match fight to the ufc, to the White House lawn to celebrate America, it's just so Trump, right? Because isn't that what Trump is? Isn't Trump this kind of like, grungy, crusty, like, he likes dirty politics? He likes when things are in the mud and real ugly? It just represents him, in my opinion, not really America. Well, in America, too, I guess, depending on how you look at it.
April Ajoy
It's just not respectable. It just feels like something that the world would laugh at us for, which I'm sure that they are. I mean, America has become a joke.
Tim Whitaker
We are a joke. Like, I mean, you. You made a good point, April. It's like, you know, all the things that we. That America apparently can't do. We can't get affordable health care done. We can't figure out anything. But we can figure out how to have the UFC take over the White House lawn in, like, a few months to have a huge rah rah. America's so great event. Like, it just. It just frustrates me that a lot of these MAGA folks think that we're now respected on the world stage again, when in reality, we're kind of laughed at. We are laughed at. People do not take us seriously because look at who's running our country. And look at the stuff that we're doing. Look what we're doing. We entered into a war that even Bush wouldn't do. Even Bush didn't invade Iran. And Trump's like, hold my beer. W. I'm gonna talk to Bibi Netanyahu and we're gonna start bombing Iran because Netanyahu wants us to. I'm gonna give the American people no answers. We're going to keep this war going. And then even though gas pricing is. Gas prices are soaring, we're going to convince the American people who love us that America is better than ever right now. That is comical.
April Ajoy
Well, and they. They keep telling us that, oh, we got a peace deal, we got a peace deal. We Got a peace deal. Peace deals cut. Like, they keep making these announcements like the war in Iran's going to be over. It's going to be quick. It's going to be real quick. It's not actually a war, it's a skirmish. But $2 billion a day in this war. Yeah.
Tim Whitaker
Yes, yes. And by the way, I just watched a really good video. I'm blanking on the YouTube channel's name. I really like them a lot. And they did a whole breakdown of like how much money the war on terror quote, unquote cost and where we could have spent that money. Instead it cost us like $14 trillion. Most of it went to like three or four major military contractors. We could have done easily with tons of money left over. Affordable health care, affordable education. We could have done so much with that kind of money. But instead we're sold this bill of lies that we're too broke. Like Mike Johnson earlier this year really tried to convince people that America couldn't afford to extend Affordable Care act subsidies. Meanwhile, we're asking. He's asking Congress to approve a billion plus dollars for a freaking ballroom. But guys, we did have the money to afford to extend Affordable Care act subsidies. It doesn't make any sense.
April Ajoy
You know what else doesn't make sense? Tell me this most recent shooting attempt that was at the White House correspondents Dinner to immediately push for the ballroom, for the need for the ballroom because they need to be safe. President Trump needs to be safe, so he needs the ballroom.
Tim Whitaker
Yeah.
April Ajoy
So if you are that worried about safety, why are you going to have an open air event.
Tim Whitaker
Hmm.
April Ajoy
In front of the White House?
Tim Whitaker
I don't see any, any barriers set up. It looks pretty outdoorsy to me. I mean,
April Ajoy
they'll have their typical, you know, barriers that are always around the White House, but I'm thinking like other building. I don't know, I just seem very
Tim Whitaker
smart to me, but both ways, right? You can't campaign after that, that, that shooting, that. Oh, we need a billion dollar, well, multi billion dollar ballroom. And we needed, by the way, can we just process one thing for, for, for a minute? They asked for $1 billion of taxpayer funding just for the security upgrades to the ballroom. $1 billion for security upgrades. What could you, I mean, how could you spend on a, a single ballroom that's not even, it's not even, it's not a skyscraper. It is a ballroom. How do you spend a billion dollars on security?
April Ajoy
How do you even upgrade something that doesn't exist yet? Yeah, wouldn't it just Be like a grade, not an upgrade.
Tim Whitaker
It's just, it's. They, they, they think, and I guess because it's true, they think that like their supporters are dumb. That like their supporters just believe this stuff. And they do. Trump has record low approval ratings. Gas is higher than ever. Prices are up. Affordability is down. We don't, we. Health care has been cut. SNAP benefits have been cut. And there are people out there who are like, man, I am so glad I voted for Trump because Harris would have been so much worse. Are you kidding me? Are you joking? You have to be. You cannot be a mysterious person.
April Ajoy
I mean, there are some people that are no longer fans of Trump because I will say he is. His approval ratings are very low, very low, historically low. And, and they are bleeding their die hard supporters because it's affecting people's like actual bank accounts and their pocketbooks, which is annoying, by the way.
Tim Whitaker
Yes, thank you.
April Ajoy
That it takes something personal and not just like the inhumane treatment of all these people or the bombing of the school. Also. Did you see. Sorry, this, this is not something that we even talked about.
Tim Whitaker
Go ahead.
April Ajoy
I think I had a fever dream about this actually, so I feel like I need to fact check this because I saw it really early this morning. I'm pretty sure the white, the official White House account made a post about the gorilla Harambe. Like. Yeah, it's right here. Hold on.
Tim Whitaker
Okay. You want to send it to me so I can pull it up or something? I'm trying, April. I'm trying to do stuff here.
April Ajoy
I literally thought, I think I had to dream that. That was so weird. Like, take into account, like, we bombed a elementary school in Iran.
Tim Whitaker
Yes, we did.
April Ajoy
Where elementary school aged girls died.
Melinda Hale
Yep.
April Ajoy
And the White House, I sent it in the ECAMM chat, if you want to.
Tim Whitaker
Thank you.
April Ajoy
The White house posted this 16 hours ago. A picture of the gorilla that the Cincinnati Zoo killed. May. Oh, I guess the anniversary of his death. Of his death, May 28, 2016. Which we didn't need to get into that. I don't think they really.
Tim Whitaker
Dude, what is an 18 year old
April Ajoy
run the White House memorial to the gorilla. The official White House account. That's the official one, right?
Tim Whitaker
You gotta read this. You gotta read this for the podcast audience.
April Ajoy
Okay. I literally read this and I thought, this has to be a joke.
Tim Whitaker
This is not satire. This is from the official White House account on Twitter. It even has the little silver check mark. Go ahead.
April Ajoy
Right. And if they were doing memorials for like people too, I guess, maybe. But the Fact. Okay, sorry. Today we remember a legend on this day in history. Is it Harambe? Is that how you pronounce the gorilla's name?
Tim Whitaker
Sure, sure. Let's go with that.
April Ajoy
Okay.
Tim Whitaker
No, it's Harambe. It's Harambe.
April Ajoy
Okay. On this day in history, Harambe would have celebrated another birthday. An icon that became part of Internet history, American culture, and an entire generation's timeline. Tomorrow marks 10 years since we lost him. 10 years since the moment the world stopped scrolling and collectively mourned something bigger than a meme. He became a symbol of loyalty, strength, chaos, unity, and the strange beauty of the Internet. Bringing millions of people together for one cause. Never forgetting Harambe, everyone remembers where they were when they heard the news. And somehow, a decade later, his legacy still lives on. Gone but never forgotten. Rest easy. To a true patriot. 5-27-99 to May 28, 2016. Forever in our hearts. What is happening? I love gorillas. You know, I was very upset when the whole thing happened back then, but why is the White House, who is literally like actually missed, like killing human beings?
Tim Whitaker
I mean, we just killed another. Another. We just wiped out another boat in international waters, like the other day for. Because they were allegedly a drug boat. This is part of like the memeification of how fascists and especially like, like neo Nazis, they use humor to kind of get their ideas through this. This is like a huge troll to the Internet, to Internet culture, to people who are incessantly online. What the White House did is like the ultimate troll. There's some Gen Z 20 year old white kid behind that account posting this, right? Making light out of what is really serious by giving a memorial to a gorilla. While this administration creates hell on earth for actual human beings. This is part of how this, of how this works. That is. I didn't know that was a thing until right now. That is. Holy moly, April.
April Ajoy
I saw this morning. It showed up on my feed and I forgot about it until this moment. But I literally like, what am I? I was barely awake. What is happening? I have to be dreaming.
Tim Whitaker
By the way, just so we're aware of Trump's polling Donald Trump, as this is, as of today, Trump's net approval rating is sitting at a negative 19.1 in the silver bullets and average. That's less popular popular than Joe Biden was at this point in his term. Negative 13.6 and less popular than Trump himself was during his first term and negative 10.6. So about 48% of the country strongly disapprove of Trump's Job performance, which, by the way, I just gotta say, only, only 48% of Americans strongly. Have you guys looked around? Have you looked around? Strongly disapprove. But I digress. I digress.
April Ajoy
I do think a lot of people just are unaware or they get so overwhelmed by everything that they just can't. They can't pay attention.
Tim Whitaker
Yeah, no, I get that. I mean, we do kind of live in like a bubble because we do this work, you know, but it's just. I don't know. I don't know. It. It's. It's one of the riddles of my life, right? I. I'm like, I don't know how you don't look around for even 10 minutes and go, what are we doing as a country? What are we doing as a country? You know, but that just shows, I think, how effective right wing media really is. They are that effective where they can take this administration and convince a lot of people that we are doing better than ever as a country.
April Ajoy
Okay, I know.
Tim Whitaker
Anyway, the other big thing that we want, well, not big thing, other small thing we wanted to pick up on, was that we are redoing our nation's reflecting pool. Right, April? That's fun.
April Ajoy
Yeah.
Tim Whitaker
Yeah. Here we go. Painting it blue. So, because Trump wants it blue, I guess. Here's another.
April Ajoy
Has had an algae problem, but I just feel like everything he does is just so, like, classless, you know?
Tim Whitaker
It's also this. This was a no bid contract, which is only reserved for emergencies, like no bid contracts. Is. This is gonna break tomorrow. We have to get it fixed. Obviously this went to a contractor that has ties somewhere to the administration to get a no bid contract to paint the reflecting pool blue. And again, who cares about this? Why is this even news? Why is Trump talking about a UFC fight or about a reflecting pool when we have such bigger issues in this country? Right? Because he doesn't really care. Trump does not care about the average American at all. He cares about his billionaire friends.
April Ajoy
He cares about appearances. Like the idea of a shiny UFC fight, that's something that you see on the outside. The idea of this pool that he's painting that's going to live there in affinity. He loves that. The idea of a ballroom. Like, think of all the stuff that he actually is, like, putting money and energy towards. It's all flashy and just like performative stuff just for appearance because he has no substance. I mean, he is so vain.
Tim Whitaker
Oh, my gosh. So vain. You have to. You have to wonder. You have to wonder. And also these are little stories that are adding up to be big things. But did you also see, April, that. That. That Trump's DOJ is going after E. Jean Carroll now? So if you don't remember, folks, E. Jean Carroll was a woman who sued Trump. A jury found Trump liable for sexually assaulting her. And now Trump's very independent and very moral DOJ is going after E. Jean Carroll for potential, I think, perjury charges of, like, lying under oath or something like that. Obviously, it's made up. This is the same. Same DOJ that went after James Comey. Went after. Was it Letitia Morrison, I think her name was. No, that's someone else. She's from Be the Bridge. There was someone else that. That Trump went after. Again, all acquitted. None of. None of the charges went anywhere. And the same thing now is happening to EG And Carol, which, by the way, sends a message to survivors, doesn't it? I mean, this is the administration that has been stonewalling the Epstein files, preventing it from being released. Pam Bondi wouldn't even look at the survivors of Epstein and those pedophiles to. To their face. And now this DOJ is going after Eegene Carroll. But, hey, April, they protect women. You know why? Because they don't want 10 trans athletes in college sports to be able to compete in college sports. Therefore, they are protecting women.
April Ajoy
This is. This is the definition of weaponizing the government.
Tim Whitaker
Yes.
April Ajoy
To do your own personal bidding, which they accused Joe Biden of the entire time that he was president, despite him not having any involvement in the cases that actually went after Trump. Like, they were legitimate. Like, let's not forget that Donald Trump is a convicted felon.
Tim Whitaker
Yeah.
Unidentified Guest
Yep.
April Ajoy
Like, there was a trial. There was a jury convicted.
Tim Whitaker
Yep. Yep. And he's also found liable for sexual assault. A jury. A jury heard that, heard the case and said, yes, Trump, you were liable for this act. And by the way, the other person's name was Letitia James. So I got. My name's confused there. But. But yes, you're exactly right. Trump is a criminal, which makes sense why he's pardoning January Sixers and paying them a lot of money for their pain and suffering. I just don't. My mind continues to be twisted thinking about how, on one hand, these people care about law and order. I've seen pundits be like, these protesters at Delaney hall are assaulting federal officers. Meanwhile, your president is actually paying people who beat federal officers with a bat for their pain and suffering.
April Ajoy
I know. So much for Blue Lives Matter. I saw A headline that the police, the Capitol police are suing the administration as they should payments.
Tim Whitaker
I mean that, that's all the line
April Ajoy
and threatened that day.
Tim Whitaker
One of them is Jake Lang. Now, I'm actually working on a deep dive on Jake Lang because he's been kind of getting into Christian nationalist base. Yes, no, right, sorry. Thank you. Yeah, I was gonna say Jake Lane was at the insurrection. He was charged with assaulting an officer with the police with a baseball bat. He was pardoned by Trump and now he's seeking money out of this fund. This man walks around America saying some of the most racist, heinous things you've ever heard ever. I mean, he makes, he makes proud boys look tame. This is like an open. The modern day of a grand wizard. Essentially going around to different town hall meetings saying gross, disgusting things that by the way, are so ignorant that man might get taxpayer money for his pain and suffering for beating up an officer with a baseball bat at the January 6th insurrection. I mean, I. To any, to any MAGA people out there who listen to this show, are you concerned about that? I mean, anything about law and order come to mind? Are you concerned about the fact that these people don't back the blue like you think that they do? Are you concerned that your taxpayer money is going to a violent man who assaulted an officer with a baseball bat? I just don't understand, like, how do you see this stuff? I don't get it.
April Ajoy
I don't get it either, but I did see a headline that Gavin Newsom is going to tax any of those January 6th payments at 100%.
Tim Whitaker
Do what? I am. We say this a lot. I am so tired of the DNC being so, like, passive on so many of these things. Like, I'm sorry, we have to fight fire with fire. Good. Tax them at 100%. Tax them. We need people to do whatever you can to stop what is happening. We're way beyond. We're way beyond like the yellow flag here. This is a five alarm fire. What's happening in our government? Trump is so corrupt. Every single day is a Watergate level scandal between insider trading, insider, you know, contractors tied to the Trump administration getting contracts. How about Elon Musk getting all those government contracts and being able to go inside the government and clean house wherever he wants to. Like, it's just, it's so obviously corrupt that Democrats need to step up and do whatever they can to stop this man from doing what he's doing.
April Ajoy
Yeah, Jodi in the comments brings up a good point too, that like oh, so we actually can pay reparations? Like, what about black people for what we did during slavery? Like, where are those reparations if we can do that? People who tried to overthrow our government.
Tim Whitaker
Well, this is why we call it White Christian nationalism. Like, it's obvious why they don't want that to happen. Right? 400 plus years of slavery in this country, Jim Crow laws, lynchings, effects that are still impacting the black community today. I mean, the wealth gap between white and Black America is 90% white. That's the wealth gap still in America today. It's huge. And the fact that we can't even have the conversation about reparations without some Alvi Secki or Matt Walsh person throwing a fit, yet they're either quiet or in support of your taxpayer money going to people who tried to assault police officers who tried to overthrow our government in the name of a rigged election, which was false. Come on. Yes. Someone else said Native American. Exactly. Never gonna happen.
April Ajoy
Yeah. Indigenous people. Yeah.
Tim Whitaker
Yes. Thank you. Yes. Foreign.
Melinda Hale
Hey, everyone, this is Melinda Hale, the executive director of the New Evangelicals. Listen. Tim Whitaker
Fantastic. And we're back. Okay, main story. Tyler Rico. Ken Paxton. Wow.
April Ajoy
Yeah. So Ken Paxton won the primary runoff against John Cornyn
Tim Whitaker
in Texas. In Texas.
April Ajoy
In Texas. Yeah. So now Ken Paxton will be running against James Talarico. And I will say I do think that. I think they were kind of neck and neck in the Runoff. And then Donald Trump came out and endorsed Ken Paxton because Ken Paxton had been loyal to Trump the entire time.
Tim Whitaker
Yeah, I mean, guys, to give you an example of how corrupt Ken Paxton is, the own. The Republican led Texas legislature impeached him over corruption charges. Republicans impeached this guy. Okay, he had an affair.
April Ajoy
How bad you have to be for Republicans?
Tim Whitaker
Republicans, yes, he had an affair. His wife has divorced him. He was, he was accused of bribery charges. And most recently, which we're going to hear more about in a minute, he helped a pedophile essentially get off scot free. This is not a man that embodies any of the Christian ethics you would think that these family value Christians would be advocating for. Yet he's the one going up against Talarico. It is. I mean, just can't make it up. He can't make it up.
April Ajoy
No, no, you really can't. And I do think it's interesting because I think Cornyn would have had a better shot in beating James Talarico, which is why it's interesting to me that Trump endorsed Paxton, which I know Trump's petty and he's gonna go for the person that he thinks likes him the most. And Ken Paxton has been a, has been super Trumpy.
Tim Whitaker
Here's the thing. Trump still has a lot of power. Trump has primaried several different Republicans in different states because of, of his endorsement, which is still wild to me. I, I don't know how that works, but it's true. So Ken Paxton, let's. We cannot underestimate how far MAGA Christians will go to betray their own values for this in the, in the name of voting Republican and.
April Ajoy
Right. I mean, they voted for Trump three times.
Tim Whitaker
Three times. At 80%, 80% majority white evangelicals. 2016, 2020 and 2024. Trump. So Ken Paxton compared to that is kind of a walk in the park. I mean, he's only had one affair, not three. I'm. Yeah, he only helped a pedophile get out of jail. He wasn't best friends with one. I'm just saying, like, like that's how they look at it. Which is, is, it's. Yeah, it's crazy we have to say it like that, but that's what's happening right now.
April Ajoy
Right. So like on one hand, I'm kind of glad Paxton won, only because I think Talarico has a better shot of winning, but it's still Texas. They've. Jerry, they gerrymandered the crap out of Texas, right?
Tim Whitaker
They did. That's right.
April Ajoy
They've got A lot of voter suppression happening, and Texas has not gone blue in a very long time. So I love it. Still going to be a very hard row road for Talarico. But I will say Republicans are terrified of him.
Tim Whitaker
Yes.
April Ajoy
Like, they. They have nothing. They have nothing against James Talarico. So they are like. And we're. We'll get to some of these responses, some of these. These tweets that I'm seeing from Republicans. Like, they literally just making stuff up. Like, they made this whole narrative up that he's vegan as an insult, which he's not vegan, and there's nothing. And even if he were, who cares?
Tim Whitaker
Yes. I can't keep it straight. Do we care about what people do in their private life or not? Like, why does him being vegan have any indication on how he would govern or on how he would, you know, lead in the Senate? Well, do you want to play, though the attack ad that Ken Paxton launched that has a very, very crazy surprise.
April Ajoy
Yeah. And you look, y', all, when you watch this video, you might recognize someone.
Tim Whitaker
You might. You might. I got a. Yeah, this is it. Okay, check this out. Here we go. The Democrats have a weird.
Unidentified Guest
This is the weirdest attack is non binary. There are many more than two biological sexes. In fact, there are six. It is now existential that we try to reduce our meat consumption. The American flag is such a complicated symbol for most of us. Prophetic voices like Jesus have helped me reckon with my own whiteness, my own masculinity. Our southern border should be like our front porch. There should be a giant welcome mat out front. No need to sit and cry over your white man.
April Ajoy
Whoa.
Unidentified Guest
Who's that?
Tim Whitaker
It's me. I made it into a thin Paxton
April Ajoy
attack ad against James Talarico.
Tim Whitaker
There you go. Oh, my gosh. I made it into a cat. So the new evangelicals flew out to Texas a couple about maybe a year and a half ago to interview James Talarico. He's actually been on the. On the podcast, the TN podcast, twice. And we had a really good time. I mean, Rebecca are now our board president, helped me put the event on. It was so much fun. And I guess they took one of the clips from me interviewing James and threw it in this attack.
April Ajoy
Yeah, I've arrived. I feel like you need it now. I know.
Tim Whitaker
Yeah. Yeah. Queen home slice says I'm famous now. I really am. Yep. Yep. That's right. Famous for. Okay, let's keep watching the rest of this ad, then we'll get some comments
Unidentified Guest
here for your masculinity they're gonna call me a radical leftist.
April Ajoy
Something that you love that's not family or friends.
Unidentified Guest
I love. I'm just saying this because it's on my mind. The trans children, the Democrats have a
Tim Whitaker
weird, a weird candidate. Low T. Talarico, two weak. Texas Lone Star Liberty Package response. For what? Loving trans kids. For being aware of, of, of, of what this country has done to minority groups and how as a white man, he walks around with privilege. That's low T. No, low T is simping for a man. Oh my gosh. Who, you know. Anyway, I. Forget it. I'm not. I'm gonna stop right here.
April Ajoy
Listen, I want to point out too, I've seen a lot of people that are like, he thinks they're six sexes. And scientifically there are definitely more than just two gender sexes. If you just go by chromosomes, you've got xx, xy, X, X, xy, xyy, xxxy. Like, I mean there's literally so many options. Not to mention like intersex people exist. But the fact that like, I don't understand why they even care. Like how is that impact actual policy, whether like how many sexes he believes that there are, which based on science,
Tim Whitaker
by the way, they, they obviously they don't care. They just know it works, right? Like all they're doing is playing into the stereotypes that right wing pundits push every single day about the radical left because they care about trans kids and because they care about, you know, how people move through the world and they're compassionate. Like, I mean, that ad has nothing of substance to it, but because of what Talrico says and because of how right wing media has brainwashed millions of people, they're going to hear radical leftists who hates people like me. That's what they're going to hear in that ad.
April Ajoy
Yeah, I saw someone tweet. I don't remember who it was, but they were like, James, they said this is an insult. James Talarico appeals to women and weak men. Like the way that they're trying to paint him out. Like the amount of people that tweeted, quote, tweeted just this regular picture of him in a Texas shirt and like the same narrative. Like, they're being like, he looks gay. He looks gay. Like, gay is not an insult for.
Tim Whitaker
Can I tell you, Can I tell you a secret? I probably shouldn't say this on the air, but I'm going to.
April Ajoy
Oh, what are you going to say?
Tim Whitaker
So I, you know, this whole alpha male thing is. It's a big Deal for these bros. Right? And whenever I go to Turning Point America Fest, people don't realize that I'm. I walk around at 6, 4, 265 pounds. I'm, like a very big dude. And so they often are shocked that I'm that big, which I love, because it kind of, like, flies in the face of her, like, alpha male. Like, you know, I'm so, You know, Tim's a little weak, progressive pansy man. And I'm this tough alpha bro that I shake their hands, and usually my hand engulfs their hand, and I just give them a look of like, yep. See, I don't think to prove to you, dude, but hopefully you understand now that you're kind of a beta. That's what I do in my head. It's terrible, but it just feels really good to be like, yeah, you thought you were tough.
April Ajoy
They just care about very vain things. Again, the appearance of being tough, the appearance of being alpha, which is. It's just so silly. But I also enjoy the fact that I'm taller than a lot of these men.
Tim Whitaker
I only care. Exactly. Exactly.
April Ajoy
I would tower over them. And that. That also makes me kind of laugh.
Tim Whitaker
I only care because they care so much. Like, I. I don't think about that ever unless I'm around one of them. And it's like, I know you care, buddy. So how do you feel now? You know that I'm not even trying, and you're trying so hard to come across as, like, this. Yo, macho, bro. Anyway, it's just one of those things for me that I just. I kind of enjoy. So.
April Ajoy
Yeah. Can we show a few of these tweets, though?
Tim Whitaker
No, we can. We can, we can.
April Ajoy
They're so. I was literally laughing at some of. Honestly, this is what it feels like. It feels like they're throwing noodles at the wall and to see what attack is going to stick.
Tim Whitaker
Yeah.
April Ajoy
Because they really don't have anything against him. They have him saying God is non binary that they're running with. But okay, so someone named Frank says Tellarico is much more offensive than someone who just disdains Christianity entirely.
Tim Whitaker
What is that?
April Ajoy
Literally so dramatic.
Tim Whitaker
Brilliant, bro. Brilliant. Oh, my favorite Franklin Graham. You know, good old biblical values. Franklin Graham.
April Ajoy
Franklin Graham, who had CPAC this year, thanked God for Trump because we could finally say Merry Christmas again.
Tim Whitaker
Intellectualism.
April Ajoy
Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico couldn't be more wrong. The devil is not silent on abortion as he claims. That's an absolute lie. God commands us. You shall not murder. Exodus 20:13. Can I just say, you would think a reverend would know that you shall not murder is talking about murder, not abortion. Okay? Abortion is taking a life. It is murder. The word of God tells us we are created in the image of God and consistently underscores the value of human life. Jeremiah 1:5 says, Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you before you were born. I set you apart. In 2021, the same Democratic candidate opposed a bill to ban men from women's sports, saying that God is non binary. Don't be deceived by wicked politicians spouting lies like this. Also, the Bible, you should follow Dan McClellan if you're not already. He's a biblical scholar and he talks at length about this. That the Bible consistently says that life starts at first breath.
Tim Whitaker
It's just wild to watch Franklin Graham tweet with all seriousness about the importance of life while he again advocates for an administration that is bomb kids, that is killing people with no due process, international waters. Ultimately, it's not about all life. It's about the life that Franklin Graham deems worthy of life. It's just. It is like, wow, dude, you would
April Ajoy
never see him say, quote, you shall not murder, about Donald Trump bombing that elementary school.
Tim Whitaker
You never would. You would never see it in a million, billion years, ever.
April Ajoy
Or even just like the school shootings that happen.
Tim Whitaker
Yeah.
April Ajoy
Or with, like, Alex Preddy or Renee. Good. Like, I.
Tim Whitaker
Suddenly. Suddenly, those verses just don't apply.
April Ajoy
Right.
Tim Whitaker
Next.
April Ajoy
Okay, can I say this one's my personal favorite of all the attacks I've seen on James Gallery Talarico. So for those listening, it's a photo of James Talarico and this guy, I guess he's running for Congress in Florida, this Republican named Dan Weldon says it's a huge problem for the Democrat Party that you take one look at the men, they run for elected office and just know they couldn't name a single obscure wide receiver from the early 2000s.
Tim Whitaker
What is. What do you even say to that? You really got him, Dan.
April Ajoy
I mean, you think Donald Trump could name an obscure wide receiver from the early 2000s?
Tim Whitaker
April, he's a man's man. Of course he could. Of course he could.
April Ajoy
Obviously you're mean. Like, people can't name them.
Tim Whitaker
When you think. When you think of manliness, I think of Trump right away. He is the epitome, the body type,
April Ajoy
the attitude he wears.
Tim Whitaker
Oh, the makeup is. It's the most manly thing I've ever seen on someone. Like. Yeah. And obviously he knows about football. Clearly.
April Ajoy
Oh, my gosh. Also, like, not that it matters, but James Calerico was born in 89, meaning in the year 2000, he was 11. Like, what are we doing?
Tim Whitaker
What are we doing? There's a good clip here of Talarico talking about, in responding to the attack that he said God is non binary, which triggered right wing Christian media pundits so much, I think it's worth watching. So here's what he says about this.
Unidentified Guest
National Republican Senate committee is already highlighting
Tim Whitaker
comments that you've made as a state representative. For example, they're highlighting this.
Unidentified Guest
God is both masculine and feminine and everything in between. God is non binary. What is your response to them using
Tim Whitaker
that and explain what you were talking about?
Unidentified Guest
Well, I understand that that comment is a little provocative. I said it on the House floor when the extremists in the Republican legislature were picking on school kids who were different. But I don't think it's controversial theologically. Most Christians would acknowledge that God is beyond gender. In fact, the Apostle Paul in his letter to the Galatians said that in Christ there is neither male nor female. And so if someone's got a problem with that statement, they shouldn't take it up with me. They should take it up with the Apostle Paul.
Tim Whitaker
He's not wrong.
April Ajoy
No, he's not.
Tim Whitaker
Like, it's in the I. What is so controversial about saying God doesn't have genitals? Like, what is so controversial about that? I don't want.
April Ajoy
It's not. They just. They've turned everything into this culture war.
Tim Whitaker
Yeah, 100%. Exactly. Right. One more that I think is worth. Is worth showing. Is this. Is this Ted Cruz?
April Ajoy
Yeah. So it's a picture of James Talarico eating probably. What is that, a turkey leg maybe?
Tim Whitaker
Yeah, it looks good.
April Ajoy
And Ted Cruz says, what the hell is he eating? Is not barbecue. Because Talarico is passionately anti meat. Is that a tofu log? Like, these are the meat.
Tim Whitaker
These are people who have the emotional intelligence of a 12 year old on the middle school playground. And somehow they run our government. Which reminds me that April, when we were talking about this for prep, I said, do you remember when Sean Hannity went after Obama for asking for mustard on a burger? I pulled the clip. We gotta watch this, friends. This is. This is. Just watch this. This is real. This is not satire. This happened 17 years ago. And finally tonight, as you all know, President Obama is a real man of the people. And yesterday he dropped by a popular Virginia restaurant to grab a burger with his pal Joe. Now, the Gateway pundit blog pointed out that plain old ketchup, well, it didn't quite cut it for the President. Now take a look at him ordering his burger with a very special condiment. All right, I'm gonna have a just a basic cheddar cheeseburger,
Emily
medium well.
April Ajoy
I just want mustard, no ketchup.
Tim Whitaker
If you got like a spicy mustard or something like that, or a dinghy mustard, something like that. All right, pause. That is the most basic burger order in existence. He doesn't want bacon. He wants a basic cheddar burger with mustard. This is, this is a literal, no pun intended, nothing burger. Okay, Sean Hannity of Fox News, they were going to take that sitting down. Here's the response. John Mustard. I think the president watched just a little bit too much television as a kid. Pardon me, would you have any Grey Poupon? You mean the mustard? Yes. Would you have any? Would I or do I. Both, actually. All right. I hope you enjoyed that fancy burger, Mr. President. This is what we're dealing with. Think about that. Think about that now. Think about Trump. Just think about Trump and how much this man gets away with. By Sean Hannity.
April Ajoy
Imagine President Obama tries to throw a UFC fight in the White House lawn.
Tim Whitaker
No, what he would do is he have an NBA game and Fox News would be all over it. This is so beneath the presidency. Who taxpayers are, you know, are footing the bill for this? This is read. This is unameric, dude. They went after him for wearing a tan suit. A tan suit was beneath the presidency. Trump. Trump is the most immoral man in our lifetime to be in charge of our country. And they have nothing to say. This is why so many of us former evangelical Christians are so angry and fed up with, like, our tradition that really is trying to still gaslight people into thinking that they have the moral high ground theologically, because they don't. They don't. You don't get to go after Obama for asking for mustard on a burger and then tell me that I'm the heretic because I can't get behind someone who brags about assaulting women. Sorry. You just, you can't do it, guys. You can't do it.
April Ajoy
Well, and also, I just want to say that James Talarico was asked what he has to say about being accused of being a vegan. They're literally just made up. And I'll just quote, he said, I'm an eighth generation Texan. I've been eating barbecue since before Ken Paxton's first indictment. Which is honest, honestly, I do find. I love It, I think his marketing and the way he talks. Yes, it's very compelling.
Tim Whitaker
It's compelling.
April Ajoy
Very compelling. And even after the runoff, he welcomed Cornyn voters into his camp. Like he's trying to do this big tent approach. You know, I don't know if it'll work, but I'm, it's. I'm glad he's trying something.
Tim Whitaker
Well, why don't we watch this clip of Telorico talking about Ken Paxton and just how he, I mean, he just, he destroys Paxton in such a kind, polite way. Yeah, I just think it's worth watching. Check this out. Ken Paxton, your opponent has taken to calling you Telefrico.
Unidentified Guest
Well, I think if Ken Paxton is worried about freaks, he should stop giving Epstein style sweetheart deals to pedophiles. You know, this is the guy who just released Adam Hoffman from jail and admitted child rapist after one of Ken Paxton's wealthy lawyer friends got involved in the case. Ken Paxton even kept him off the sex offender registry. Adam Hoffman was supposed to serve 25 years to life, but instead he served less than a month. As of this week, he's now back on our streets because of Ken Paxton's corruption. Ken Paxton is the most corrupt politician in America and it is costing Texans, it's endangering our children, and it must end. I think the Epstein class has no place in Texas. And this November, we're going to come together to defeat Ken Paxton and take back our state for the people.
Tim Whitaker
I love it, I love it, I love it. And by the way, he's right. I mean, I mean, Hoffman, he faced, I mean, sa of a young child, he faced exposing a minor to indecent material. I mean, this is like, this is the predator. This is the groomer that they're always yapping about. Like, he's right here. And Paxton's ag or Paxton's like, office gave that man a sweetheart deal that let him walk off essentially scot free.
April Ajoy
Yeah, yeah, I know. Listen, I think Talarico has a really good shot. And as a born and raised Texan, I'm cheering for him. I know I've got family in Texas that's going to be voting for him and I, I hope he pulls it out. Did you want to show the Stephen Miller tweet?
Tim Whitaker
Okay. Yeah, I think we should. This is not our words. For the record, we'll start at the beginning.
April Ajoy
Has accused he. For the record, he made two tweets about James Talarico calling him trans. So this is one of two. I think he's a little Obsessed, honestly. But Miller quote, tweets a Democrat talking about James Telerico and says the Democrats made history in Texas by nominating their first transgender Senate candidate, which is just. They're just making no words.
Tim Whitaker
I mean, they're just. Liars are gonna lie, right? Liars are gonna lie.
April Ajoy
It wouldn't matter if he were, but he's not. Like, they're literally just making stuff up. But Stephen Miller got ratioed by the Democrats.
Tim Whitaker
Like, the actual account.
April Ajoy
Yeah, Democrat account that he, quote, tweeted. They replied, and it's breaking the Internet right now.
Tim Whitaker
Now we're just reading the words. Okay, this is. There's a curse word here. Okay, maybe we.
April Ajoy
Maybe we can just say F. I'm not going to say the word perfect. But the Democrats replied, shut up, you ugly fuck.
Tim Whitaker
Cassidy, can we put a poll in the chat? Is this too far, or is this appropriate given the circumstances?
April Ajoy
Yeah, I mean, listen, he got ratioed by a lot.
Unidentified Guest
A lot.
April Ajoy
And I do think, out of everyone in the Trump administration, I think you can make a very good case that Stephen Miller is maybe the most evil of them all. I mean, we're talking about someone that has basically been a white, racist nationalist.
Tim Whitaker
Right.
April Ajoy
Like, since high school. Like, there's. There's records of him being awful his entire life. So he's not one of these people that became more awful because it was politically expedient for them. The stuff that Stephen Miller has said about immigrants, the. The stuff that he said about trans people. I mean, this man is vile. Like, the Pentecostal in me has this urge to cast the demons out. And I made a joke. I, like, tweeted that out, and someone was like, then there'd be nothing left, or. That's offensive to the demons. And I'm like, you know.
Tim Whitaker
Yeah.
April Ajoy
So listen, would I have made this reply? No.
Tim Whitaker
Right.
April Ajoy
Am I mad that the Democrats did also? No.
Tim Whitaker
Right.
April Ajoy
But that's just me. By the way, can I just say, Republicans are so, so mad about it. We're talking about people that defended Trump. A female reporter, piggy. He's called people ugly. And they are like. These are people that have been like, oh, people won't vote for Trump over mean tweets. You just need to grow a pair. And now they're crying because the Democrats crying because they called Stephen Miller ugly.
Tim Whitaker
They are children. They have the emotional intelligence of. Of toddlers. It is wild. By the way, someone in the chat, this is kind of like a deeper cut, said, I'm sorry, I'm not going to take nosferatu's word for anything. Have you seen that movie Nosferatu?
April Ajoy
I haven't. I think Beecher saw it. I saw someone call Stephen Miller Temu.
Tim Whitaker
Not my vibe, but wow. Yeah, that was.
April Ajoy
Someone else called him. I've seen other people call him this too. Peewee German.
Melinda Hale
Oh my gosh.
Tim Whitaker
Look, the New Evangelicals has a very strict, like, ethic of non dehumanization. So I understand that. On a personal level, I'm like, at what point do you just call things what they are? Like, I don't know where that line is, I don't want to add, but also like, I'm so tired of these MAGA people getting away. Trump advocated for the murder of Democrats for quote unquote, seditious behavior. Trump wouldn't even call Governor Waltz when Melissa Hortman was killed by a Christian nationalist. I'm so over this one sided, you know, like playbook where they can be so incredibly cruel all the time. And when someone gets called something that honestly they probably deserve being called, suddenly they're like, ooh, that's, that's not fair. That's, they, they, they start crying foul. How dare you? That's so inappropriate. I'm done. This is why I tell people, you cannot reason with the hardcore MAGA crowd. You're never going to be able to reason with Benny Johnson or Ali Stuckey or any of these people. You cannot reason with them. You have to move on and pretend that they don't exist. As far as trying to reach across the aisle and just completely destroy their talking points, that's all you can do.
April Ajoy
Well, and I've seen some people make the argument that don't like that response because they think it plays into what Republicans already say is true of Democrats, that they're evil, vile, hateful. You know, they're just saying, like, you're just giving them ammo now, now people are just going to show that whenever they want to say, like, look how bad the Democrats are, they, I'm over it.
Tim Whitaker
You know, I'm over it. That's because they control the airwaves. Like, like, we forget that, like talk radio is, is Republic is dominated by conservative pundits who push this stuff. Like, the answer to me is, the answer in my mind is not cowering. My answer is build better networks and like fights on fire with fire. Like you need to push truthful narratives out there to combat the ridiculous narratives that, that, that, that, that they push at mass, at mass scale.
April Ajoy
Yeah, yeah, listen, I, I, I am against dehumanization. I I just. I laugh.
Tim Whitaker
Is it dehumanizing, though?
April Ajoy
I mean, is calling someone ugly dehumanizing?
Tim Whitaker
But he's an ugly person. Like, Trump is also an ugly person.
April Ajoy
I think you could say they are.
Tim Whitaker
Objectively, it's not about the physical appearance only. It's about the heart inside of that human being. Yeah. What Stephen Miller advocates for the fact that he's caught on camera laughing about torturing Iraqis when he was 17. He's an ugly person. Like, his heart is just. It is just rotten to the core.
April Ajoy
And I think that's fair, and I think it's fair to say I do think these people like fascists, authoritarian figures. I feel like they all have, like, little man syndrome.
Emily
Right.
April Ajoy
They are all on this power trip. And the thing that actually knocks them down is. Is being laughed at.
Tim Whitaker
Yes.
April Ajoy
Is people not taking them seriously. People not. Not cowering, not being scared of them. Calling them an ugly f. Like, shut up. Like, that is so disrespectful, but they need to be disrespected.
Tim Whitaker
I did a video when responding to when Doug Wilson was mocked by Wajahat and Tim Miller on Piers Morgan a couple of weeks ago. And in my video, I said, these men need to be mocked. They need to be exposed publicly for the jokers that they are. Because Doug Wilson gets owned, he has no response. All of his little evangelical tricks just don't work, because Tim and Waj are not evangelicals. They're like, what are you talking about? That kind of. Frankly, shame needs to happen to these people because their whole life, they've been told that they are part of God's will, that they're super important, that they're so smart, they're so brilliant. They have a. They have a divine destiny to fulfill. They need to be brought down to reality that they are little insecure men who probably have daddy issues, who didn't go to therapy and instead are trying to get approval from a man who brags about assaulting women and who himself has daddy issues. And I think we have to start calling, you know, things what they are. That's what's going on here. They're the inside. They are little children. They're little. The little boys looking for approval. Unfortunately for them, it looks like, you know, kidnapping immigrants and denigrating trans people and all other kinds of folks, you know, so they have to be stopped. But ultimately, they're just. They're. They're. They're toddlers. They're still pooping their diaper.
April Ajoy
Mentally, they're weak, pretending to Be strong, alpha men.
Tim Whitaker
I'll give you one more small example. I will not name this person. I did a video with someone. They came to my house and did a 24 hours, like, following me around, and they disagreed with me on everything. I'm not gonna say the person's name, but there's a moment in the video where I'm sitting next to him, and out of the blue, he goes, dude, your forearms are huge. Can we just compare forearms real quick? And I. It felt so weird to me. I was like, sure, man. Like, if you want to. Because he's a smaller guy. I don't. I've never. It was one of those moments where I was like, this feels so weird. This feels like. I just. It's a weird thing to be. To bring up someone else's forearms on camera when we're talking theology. But, like, that's what they do. They, like, they are just so insecure about who they are. They're always comparing to other people. Yes.
April Ajoy
Yeah.
Tim Whitaker
It's just so weird. Anyway, had to say it.
April Ajoy
Well, and also, I think Stephen Miller has a lot of power, and calling him out, that's punching up. Like, I do have a problem if people are punching down, but I do think someone in the chat brought it up, too. Punch up. I like that. That's the best comedy. Like, they have power right now, and they are wreaking havoc and harming marginalized and oppressed groups of people that are already hurting. And I have. I just. I personally don't have a problem with.
Tim Whitaker
No, I don't have a problem with it either, to be clear.
April Ajoy
I think we're talking about a tweet. We're talking about a mean tweet that They've defended for 10 years for Donald Trump. Donald Trump has posted far worse things, has said far worse things, and how dare they suddenly get offended that someone called Stephen Miller ugly, The man who.
Tim Whitaker
Who essentially ripped off of Nazi propaganda at Tyler Kirk's funeral. I don't want to hear it. I don't want to hear it.
Emily
Hi, my name is Emily. I'm from Cocoa, Florida, and I decided to donate and follow the nube evangelical page because I believe in the work that they're doing. I think it's important to create a healthy environment where people are comfortable asking hard questions about, you know, their existence and their religion. And I'm spiritual, but not religious, but I do believe there's, like, a fundamental truth. There is a fundamental reality of where we all come from, where the universe comes from. Totally agree that there's something going on, you know what I mean? But beyond that, I don't know. I don't have the answers. And to me, that's given me a lot of freedom to kind of explore my humanity how I want, instead of being bogged down by the fear tactics of Christianity and them telling me that I'm wrong for simply having human experiences and human feelings and wanting to explore those. So, yeah, it's. We keep talking about it. If people are getting upset about it, that means we got to keep talking about it. Let's bridge the divide, communicate. Let's try to reduce our misunderstandings of each other and just all come together to realize we're all human. We're all here on this earth together. And instead of fighting about which religion is right, maybe we could come together to make the world we live on a better place. Why can't we make heaven on earth? Why are we all waiting to get off of earth?
April Ajoy
Real quick, we have a poll results. 86% said it was not too far. What The Democrats said, 9% say it is too far and 5% don't know.
Tim Whitaker
Well, the people have spoken. That's democracy.
April Ajoy
And we have some super chats to get to.
Tim Whitaker
All right. Yeah, let's read these, then we'll get to our final segment. Sound good?
April Ajoy
Yep.
Tim Whitaker
Where did we. Where did we leave off? Wow, there's a lot of them. Guys, thank you for the super chats. It really helps us out. It helps make this show possible. So thank you. Wow, there's a lot. Hold on, I gotta find where we left off. I think we're. Yeah, we're here. Okay, Here you go. I can read this one. From Laura Strata, 7279. Tim and April, I have been a leftist for Jesus for years. Your journeys inspire me. It's upside down. When empathy is a sin. But we are radicals for Jesus. I am indeed now forever more an abolitionist. Join me in that term. Thank you, Laura, so much for the super chat. Means the world. Yeah, it's really good. From Jared, the weird worker. I handed over my man card years ago. I'm right there with Tim and not Karen. Yeah, exactly. I mean, I just. I do not care. I don't care. I just don't think about it ever. Okay, Jackie Lynn 9702. I appreciate you guys. As a Texan with a conservative family, it's great to know that I'm not crazy and alone in my beliefs. Thank you, Jackie. And again, make sure to check out TNE Connect. There's a bunch of people that you can connect with. That I think would be really helpful for you. Uncle Fatty. That's the name. Says red letter sword fight. Double with cheese and mustard. Oh, my gosh.
April Ajoy
Wait, we have to do both of these.
Tim Whitaker
No. Do we have. Okay, wait, is this a new rul. We. April, we have not discussed this.
April Ajoy
We have not set our boundaries.
Tim Whitaker
Yeah, we. You know what? We're gonna. We're gonna stop the sword drills for today, and April and I are gonna reconvene and set boundaries around what we're gonna accept. Then we'll go from there. Is that fair? April, do you wanna do this right now? I know what you're thinking. You feel guilty. You're like, if we don't do it, will this person be disappointed in us?
April Ajoy
Listen, let's just do one. I think. I think two. Two's too much. Let's just do one, and then we'll set. I think from here on out, we will limit it to one sword drill.
Tim Whitaker
Or we can be. Well, I have other ideas that we can do, but, yeah, we'll talk about off air. Okay, I'll tell you what, since you're losing, I'll let you pick.
April Ajoy
Oh, okay. Let's do just the mark one. Okay. Ready, set, go. Since I'm losing. You little punk. What is it, Mark? I didn't even look.
Tim Whitaker
Mark. I'm not telling you.
April Ajoy
All right, I got it. Mark 21. Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, one thing you lack, go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven and come follow me. But at these words, he was saddened and he went away grieving, for he was one who owned much property. Oh, it's 3. 23. And Jesus, looking around, said to his disciples how hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God but don't Christian.
Tim Whitaker
Well, he's actually. He's. He's Christ himself. I'm not sure if you saw the photo. All right, Doug Doge, thank you for the super chat. Thank you, Democrat. Twitter using Stephen. Stephen's government name. That's funny. Let's see Laura Strada again. Thank you. I love being here with all of you. It's empowering. Thank you so much. We got one more from Hammond lpc. I think the Tim April show needs a deep dive into Jesus's red letters about loving our enemies. It's so easy to slip into dehumanizing bad people. Thank you, Hammond, for the. For the super chat. It means the World. Okay, I think we're ready for the final segment.
April Ajoy
Oh, I forgot what this is. I remember though. We Christian.
Tim Whitaker
All right.
April Ajoy
Do we give any sort of. I'll just. I'll just say this, this woman that's in here, she's. She runs. Her name is Laura Zachary. I think she's in the UK and she. Her bio says Royal Academy for High Tier Wives.
Tim Whitaker
High tier.
April Ajoy
So she runs one of these like, wife schools, which is kind of like.
Tim Whitaker
How much does she charge?
April Ajoy
I have no idea. And I don't know if it's like called a wife school, but that's like a growing thing. I don't know if you've seen in like the trad wife. There's these like, wife schools where they teach women how to be good, godly, traditional trad wives.
Tim Whitaker
Wait, is her name Laura Zachary? Is that what it is?
April Ajoy
Yeah.
Tim Whitaker
I found. I found her website.
April Ajoy
Get my Royal Academy.
Tim Whitaker
Okay. Okay. Oh, my gosh. Okay, let's go. Hold on. Pause. Because we're. Why not we. This is. This is part of it. This is part of it. So, so this is. This is the website. It starts off here. Wow. Super Royal.
April Ajoy
Wow, that's so fancy.
Tim Whitaker
Welcome to the Royal Academy. Mrs. Zachary is England's most sort after. Is it. Is that just a language thing? Is it sort. Is that. Is that a British term? I don't know.
April Ajoy
I mean, we'll go with that is how I would write that, but maybe that's how they say it in England. I don't know.
Tim Whitaker
Sought after teacher of traditional and biblical wifery. Reinstalling kingdom values into your marriage so that you can leave an inheritance and a legacy for your children's children. Her academy creates high tier wives that hold a unique strength to lift up God's greatest man. Okay, what is a high tier wife? She's no ordinary wife. She moves with intention. She is intentional with how she speaks to her husband, how she raises their children, how she stewards the finances, how she adorns her body and pays attention to how she makes her husband look. She has refined her appearance, her femininity and her voice. Now, do you want to get your crown? I want to get my crown.
April Ajoy
I don't know how much this is.
Tim Whitaker
All right, wait, hold on. If you had to guess, I'll tell you what. There's a monthly tier, then there's a yearly tier.
April Ajoy
Okay, I'll say it's probably not going to be cheap. I'll say like $100 a month, 1200 a year.
Tim Whitaker
Okay, you're kind of off and on. So the minimum price for the Preparation Academy is $50 for 21 to 81 days.
April Ajoy
That's £50 though.
Tim Whitaker
Sorry, 50, £50, you're right.
April Ajoy
What is, how does that convert?
Tim Whitaker
That's the Preparation Academy though. That's like the basic stuff.
April Ajoy
$7. That's. So that's US$67.
Tim Whitaker
Okay. The Royal Academy is a year long and that is a 10,000 pound price tag. You are right. And it says, you are right and ready.
April Ajoy
$13,000.
Tim Whitaker
You are ripe and ready. Okay, that's a weird term. To transform yourself into a high tier wife. You are ready to be elevated to a new way of living, to be restful in your new mindset and adored by your husband. That's who this person is.
April Ajoy
Okay, well now that y' all know
Tim Whitaker
this, here's a little freebie.
April Ajoy
That's some context. So let's see what kind of teaching she's giving in this wife school.
Tim Whitaker
For £10,000, this can be yours.
Melinda Hale
Having an argument with your husband is actually a choice. You choose to step into the battlefield and into the arena with him and you don't have to make that choice. That really is a choice. Do I believe that we should be arguing backwards and forward as a married couple? Absolutely not. Do I believe that women, soft, vulnerable, delicate women would even entertain such a thing? No, I don't. So recently I had someone say to me, well, what do you do when you've already started fighting? How do you step away from that? You shouldn't have already started fighting to begin with. Again, it's a choice. The only reason that couples fall into an argument is usually because the women start to fight back. Men, they have war in them, they have battles in them, right? They have, they have this testosterone, but they can only have an argument with masculinity. They need another man with the same testosterone, with that same war mentality to go backwards and forwards with. So the only reason that you fall into an argument is because you are showing up as a man in your marriage and you don't have to. And it is a choice. And if you think that as a wife, you getting your way is, is you arguing with him or him finally listening to you means that you have to raise your voice to a point where he suddenly hears you. You are incorrect. He will only hear you when you are in your femininity and when you're in your vulnerability. And as soon as you step out of that to go into this arena with him, you've lost his respect. He cannot hear you. And he certainly isn't going to listen. He's not going to change. So anytime that you feel your husband is getting annoyed or you could feel them getting a little bit heavy up, you don't say anything. You leave it. Hey, sweetheart, are you okay? Do you need to go to the gym? Do you need to go for a run? Do you need anything from me? How about that instead? Hey, do you need anything from me? You don't need to be having these backwards and forwards arguments that explode. That's what men do when they're together, not a man and a woman.
Tim Whitaker
There you go.
April Ajoy
Ew.
Tim Whitaker
Wait, April, you don't believe that you don't want to be, you know, in
April Ajoy
other words, just be a doormat. Ladies.
Tim Whitaker
Well, it works.
April Ajoy
Never have an opinion.
Tim Whitaker
I only fight with men. I need. I need what it's like being like,
April Ajoy
oh, well, we would have had peace if people never fought in a revolution.
Tim Whitaker
Right, Right.
April Ajoy
They just never. Like, the only reason why there's arguments is when women fight back. Why? Why do we feel the need to fight back?
Tim Whitaker
The only reason.
April Ajoy
Mistreated.
Tim Whitaker
The only reason you got hurt during the robbery is because you fought back. It's kind of your fault. That's what she's saying. Right? It's like no one would ever. The reason why you got assaulted is because you fought too hard instead of just lying down and taking it like.
April Ajoy
That's also like, kind of rude to men that, like, women can only argue if they're a man, if they're being a man.
Tim Whitaker
That's right.
April Ajoy
Also, it's conflicting. She said men can only argue with other men because they have to match that testosterone.
Tim Whitaker
Right.
April Ajoy
So I guess women. Women do have testosterone in order for that battle to happen.
Tim Whitaker
Well, if you're fighting, then you have testosterone and you're a man. I also can't fight with you because you don't have testosterone at the same exact time. So.
Melinda Hale
Ha.
April Ajoy
Well, that just like, diminish. That diminishes both men and women. That men are only fighters, that they have to fight like they've got war in them and blah, blah, blah. Like that is. That is already toxic. But then that women have. What did she say she was like? Meek, vulnerable, delicate Women.
Tim Whitaker
Yes.
April Ajoy
Soft. They never enter that world.
Tim Whitaker
Now pay me £13,000 so I can teach you more of this, though.
April Ajoy
$13,000. £10,000.
Tim Whitaker
Thank you. Thank you for the correction.
April Ajoy
£10,000.
Tim Whitaker
Don't correct me on the air, April. Ra.
April Ajoy
Sorry. I became a man.
Tim Whitaker
Yeah. Whoa. Too much testosterone. April, stop it.
April Ajoy
Oh, my gosh can you just imagine paying $10,000 to learn how to be a doormat?
Tim Whitaker
You know what, guys? For $5,000, I'll teach you how not to be. How's that? I'll give you, I'll give you a 50% discount. You pay me five grand directly. Men, I'll teach you how not to be like that kind of guy. And we'll call it a day. You know, you know, it's, it's so interesting because. So me and Sarah are going to celebrate 10 years of marriage in July. Wow. It's coming up and thank you. And we've been together for 12 years and I, and I think she'd be hard pressed to tell you I can't think about like, any serious blow up we've ever had in those. I mean, we've had, we've had a conflict. We've had, you know, arguments, but not like screaming, shouting. Like that's never happened in our marriage. And one of the things that we did early on was we made three rules for how we fight. The three rules we made were you never curse out of anger. You don't bring up things that have been resolved in the past and you don't say always and never. And those three things have made our conflicts resolvable. Like, because we have these agreed upon boundaries that we've set. Turns out my wife and I can have conflict and she is not being all testosterone and I'm not being all rah, rah, rah, and we can talk.
April Ajoy
She's in the chat saying, let's fight right now. Oh, fight, fight, fight.
Tim Whitaker
She's fight. No, we have, we've, like, we've wrestled before. Like, play wrestled. She's feisty, she's scrappy. Oh, she's scrappy. I'm like, Sarah, how? She's only five, three. She's feisty and she'll tell you, I love that.
April Ajoy
I love Sarah.
Tim Whitaker
No, she's the best.
April Ajoy
I would not want to be in a fight with Sarah.
Tim Whitaker
No, no, I, I don't recommend it for anyone. No, I, I really don't. But it's just one of those. I just don't get it. Like, yeah, that kind of attitude sets up for assault in a marriage. That is what leads to men lording over their wives and assaulting them and women being told that God wants you to just, just to take it and accept it and don't fight back because that means that you're, you're, you're being an unbiblical wife, you're being a jezebel Right.
April Ajoy
And also I feel like what she says completely backwards that your, your husband would disrespect you when you have an opinion. Like, Beecher would. Would have less respect for me if I just rolled over and agreed with everything that they ever said. If I became a shell.
Tim Whitaker
Yes, yes.
April Ajoy
If I became a shell of a person and had no opinions, that would make Beecher respect me far less than when I actually speak my mind.
Tim Whitaker
You know, our biggest fight is when I'm like, sarah, I need your opinion. Please tell me what you want for dinner. Don't tell me. I don't care. Yeah, you're absolutely right. And if your husband is intimidated by that or if your partner is, you're dating a man child. You're dating an insecure man child who needs to feel like they're in control of everything and that everyone has to follow their whim to feel strong and powerful. That is really unhealthy. And if you're in that kind of relationship, you should get a therapist pronto or renegotiate your terms as a couple, because that's not going to go anywhere good long term at all.
April Ajoy
Right. I feel like the healthiest marriages. And granted, like, live your life right. If you want the traditional, the man is the head, makes all the decisions and you like, whatever. But I really think it's healthier for people to actually be a partnership. You're doing this life together. You're making decisions together. Because if one person is responsible for all the hard decisions, that I think that's unhealthy for both parties because one, that's a lot of pressure on this person. If they make a wrong decision, that's all on them. And then also it makes it feel like the other person doesn't have a voice and doesn't have an opinion. And it's ridiculous. So anywho, white school, any who.
Tim Whitaker
Yeah. Yes. Yes. Oh, gosh. Anyway. All right, friends, Well, I think that's all time we got for today. I'm sure next week we'll have a whole new slate of issues to talk about about how America is just so great nose diving. So thanks for being here. Friends, as always, make sure to like this video.
