Tariq Trotter
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Jimmy Fallon
Thank you very much. Everybody. Enjoy yourself. Thank you for being here. Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Tonight Show. This is it. Thank you for being here. Thanks for watching at home. Well, guys, tonight President Biden delivered his farewell address from the Oval Office. After the speech, Biden embraced his two great loves, Jill and the teleprompter. You know, it was a big night. Biden delivered an emotional farewell to the country. While the country was busy delivering an emotional farewell to TikTok. In his speech, Biden talked about some of his biggest accomplishments, like helping Americans recover from the pandemic, creating 16 million new jobs, and somehow doing the impossible. He fell upstairs. How would you. That's. How do you do that? Amazing. Yep. Biden said he gave everything he had to America over his 50 year career. I think that's what Biden said. It was hard to hear cuz Trump was having vending machines installed in the Oval Office. This is all Doritos. Make sure the bear claws are on the bottom row. Biden also took some time to discuss the biggest challenges that are still facing our country. Then he took a long pause and said, anyway, good luck with all that and but this is sweet. Biden told the country, even though my term as president may be over, the smell of Werther's originals and Bengay I've left behind will linger forever. Isn't that sweet? That doesn't help. Then at the end of his speech, Biden was joined by Vice President Harris where they sang a stirring rendition of Defying Gravity. You guys see this? An arctic blast is about to slam the country and it could make Monday the coldest inauguration ceremony in 40 years. Someone said yay. No, I'm sorry. I'm serious. There's a real chance Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg's lips could all freeze to Trump's butt. That is true. That might happen. That's what I'm hearing. That's what I'm hearing. Speaking of the inauguration, I saw that Michelle Obama is skipping the ceremony. I can't tell what's more surprising, Michelle not going or that Melania is going. Turns out Michelle actually had a good excuse on the rsvp. She just wrote lol. Yep. Michelle was like, it's just like I always say, when they go low, I go to Hawaii. Meanwhile, a Washington hotel is offering a $350,000 luxury inauguration package that includes airfare and two butlers. Yeah, it's the height of Washington luxury. You'll be sleeping in the very same beds as the turkeys that get pardoned on Thanksgiving. Well, hey, listen to this. Last night, the CEO of Coca Cola presented Trump with a special inaugural bottle of Diet Coke. Did you see that? Take a look. Yeah. Trump then put the bottle in the Mar A Lago wine cellar next to the nuclear codes. Did you guys think that was serious? You thought that was real? No, these are all jokes. He didn't really do that. Yeah, Trump was thrilled. He loves drinking Diet Coke. And he's not the only politician to get a special drink from a beverage company. No. I'll show you what I mean. First up here's Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro. She got a commemorative bottle of Lil Wayne's purple drink. Next up, here's Congresswoman Sherry Biggs. She got a room temp box of Franzia Chardonnay. Up next, here's Congressman Hal Rogers. He got a bottle of colonoscopy prep. Next up here's Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. She got a bottle of Four Loko spiked with bath salts. Up next, here is Congressman Chuck Fleischman. He got a bottle of Pepto Bismol mixed with Alka Seltzer and Tums. Next up here's Congressman John Mannion. He got a bottle of Santa's leftover milk. Up next, here's Congressman John Larson. He got a bottle of Absolute Prune. I didn't know they didn't know they made that. Oh, wow. I didn't know that was a flavor. I didn't know it was a flavor. Next, here's Congressman Raul Ruiz. He got a pre opened Capri sun pouch from his mom. And finally, here's Senator Bernie Sanders. He got a bottle of soup. There you have it, everybody. Very interesting drink. Here's some good news. Today it was announced that Israel and Hamas have agreed to a ceasefire and the hostages are coming home. Yep, somehow we've brought peace to Israel and Hamas. And yet we still can't bring peace between Drake and Kendrick. Some business news. Amazon announced it is phasing out its try before you buy option. That's too bad. I'm gonna miss buying underwear that 10 people have already tried. And you guys hear about this Tesla recall? It's not good. Watch this.
Savannah Guthrie
More Tesla vehicles are on the recall list because of Potential issues with rear view cameras. More than 200,000 vehicles are linked to the recall.
Tariq Trotter
What? Man, I drive a Tesla.
Jimmy Fallon
I'm sorry about that, Tariq.
Tariq Trotter
It's okay. I still have my trustee. Hyundai Genesis in Kia. They're electric. Boogie oogie oogie.
Jimmy Fallon
Kia.
Tariq Trotter
Oh, oh.
Craig Melvin
What?
Jimmy Fallon
Roll the clip.
Savannah Guthrie
Over 200,000 Hyundai Genesis and Kia electric vehicles are being recalled.
Tariq Trotter
What? Wow.
Jimmy Fallon
What are the chances that.
Tariq Trotter
Man, how am I supposed to pick up groceries tomorrow? I promise my kids I get their favorite treat. Peach mango sorbet.
Jimmy Fallon
A recall alert. The Mochi ice cream company is recalling more than 1300 cases of peach mango sorbet. Come on. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, dude.
Tariq Trotter
It's okay. I got them their second favorite treat.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, what's that?
Tariq Trotter
Well, they love those, you know, fro she Frozen chicken and cheese Taquito. Your product. Product. Excuse me. Cheese Taquito products that are sold at Aldi.
Sam Heughan
Bestway Sandwiches Incorporated is recalling nearly 25,000 pounds of frozen frozen chicken and cheese Taquito product. Excuse me. Cheese Taquito products.
Jimmy Fallon
They're sold at Aldi.
Tariq Trotter
Man. Man, this stinks.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Big time, big time.
Tariq Trotter
You know what? Fine. No chicken taquitos.
Jimmy Fallon
Wow.
Tariq Trotter
We'll just drink straight out of the Walmart chicken broth box, bruh. The carton.
Jimmy Fallon
We have a recall alert. Walmart is encouraging customers to throw out a chicken broth box. The carton sold at stores. I'm sorry.
Tariq Trotter
I give up.
Jimmy Fallon
All right, he gives up. That. Enough.
Tariq Trotter
Enough all.
Jimmy Fallon
No. I guess there's no chicken taquitos.
Tariq Trotter
No more taquitos.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Well, switching gears, guys. Apparently cottage cheese is skyrocketing in popularity. Cottage cheese, it's up in 50%. Surging by 50% sales in the US the trend of less alcohol, more cottage cheese makes me think I'm about to attend the worst super bowl party of all time. And finally, DirecTV has launched a sports only streaming service that includes a channel called Pickleball tv. And if you like watching pickleball on tv, it's time to admit you have a gambling problem. We have a great show.
Tariq Trotter
Give it up for the Roots, everybody. I tried to see if I can feel. I hit my people up to see if it was real. I said, oh, I'm seeing Reveal to me. That's it. To kill. They told me that I probably shouldn't be behind a wheel.
Jimmy Fallon
Thank you very much. Good job, buddy. Welcome to the show, everybody. Hey. All this week we're highlighting different organizations that are doing Amazing work in Los Angeles helping those affected by the wildfires. There's so many great ones out there. So if you can donate, donate to them. Tonight we're highlighting Project Hope. They're on the ground right now, mobilizing doctors and nurses, getting supplies to shelters and clinics, and providing mental health support for families and children. For more information, go to projecthope.org It's a great charity doing great work. So donate if you can. Thank you very much. What a show we have for you tonight. Sam Heughan is joining us tonight.
Craig Melvin
Let's do it.
Jimmy Fallon
Stick around. We'll be be right back with Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin.
Tariq Trotter
Come on.
Jimmy Fallon
Our first guests are award winning news journalists who are the co anchors of the Today show right here on NBC. Everyone, please welcome Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin. That's what I'm talking about. Savannah, welcome back. Craig, welcome. Thanks so much. I watch obviously the Today show every single morning and I love watching you guys. Congrats on this. You're stepping into some big shoes.
Craig Melvin
Thank you. Jim, thanks for making. Thanks for scaring me. Thank you.
Jimmy Fallon
I love this. I don't want to screw this up. That made me laugh. Yeah, you're not, you're not gonna screw this up.
Savannah Guthrie
Not possible.
Jimmy Fallon
You're not gonna, you're not gonna screw this up. Before we get into this, I know you're covering the LA wildfires every morning so far. And I just want to say great job. You're doing a great job doing that. But not only give me information, but also highlighting everyone who's helping.
Savannah Guthrie
I mean, I think that's what I hope we do on our show really well, which is we kind of look for the light. You know, you can get your news everywhere and it can be so discouraging and sad. And you know, we cover the news. Our reporters have been out there. These firefighters are amazing, working 48 hour shifts. It's incredible, these first responders. But you know what? We're trying to also our viewers are so generous. They always want to reach their arms around. And so we're trying to tell them, okay, this is a reputable place. This is how you can help. This is where there's needs. And I think that's one Thing that the Today show does really well. We look for the light.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Like, there was that Craig you were talking to. Like, it was a teacher.
Craig Melvin
Yeah, no, we highlighted two days ago. There's this. This teacher in one of our stories who talked a fair amount about how much he just missed his students. Like, he hadn't been able to talk to his students since the fire started, and he had been texting them, and he broke down in tears. And by the way, here's a teacher who was worried about his students. The teacher himself had lost his home, had lost all of his belongings, but.
Jimmy Fallon
He cared about his students, and he wanted to keep in touch and checking in, and that was just moving. It was great. But you did a great job with that. Obviously. I've known you guys for a while now, but this is a big deal. I saw your family came in on Monday. Welcoming you into now is because we're in the Craig era.
Savannah Guthrie
This is the Craig era.
Jimmy Fallon
This is the Craig era.
Savannah Guthrie
We're in our Craig era.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Savannah Guthrie
Yeah. And you were, like, actually surprised. You didn't see him coming. He really was.
Craig Melvin
No, my wife Lindsay and I, who. Oh, well, you've got a picture.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Craig Melvin
No. And by the way, you know, this, like, having your kids at work on live television with microphones on. That's a dice roll, Jake.
Jimmy Fallon
That's a dice roll, right? They want to dice roll.
Savannah Guthrie
Craig goes, oh, I say, you're mic'd up.
Jimmy Fallon
That's the first thing I noticed. Oh, I guess the kids are mic'd up.
Craig Melvin
And my mom and my dad were there. My dad.
Jimmy Fallon
You had no idea?
Tariq Trotter
No.
Craig Melvin
And, you know, my dad's old school. Like, when we were growing up, like.
Jimmy Fallon
You didn't want to be on tv.
Savannah Guthrie
No.
Craig Melvin
He didn't even talk to us unless we were in trouble. And all of a sudden, Savannah's got my father talking on live television.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Craig Melvin
And I look over at him. He's crying.
Savannah Guthrie
It was beautiful.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, my God. No way. That's wild. You have a beautiful family. I ran into Crai. We went to vacation at the same hotel at one time, and I ran into you. And I go, craig, what's up, man? It's Jimmy. And we ended up just hanging out. We basically went on vacation for a week.
Craig Melvin
But by the way, tell the other part of that story. So we were, like, on the beach, and my wife Lindsey was like, that looks like Jimmy Fallon. I was like, jimmy's not here. Lo and behold, like, two minutes later, he comes barreling over. He's like, crag. This guy for, like, days is playing basketball with my son and my daughter.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. I get pushed to the kids table. You take care of it. Dude, your kids are so cute. Del's a little athlete. They're both athletes.
Craig Melvin
You paid me a high compliment while I was there. You said one day you're like, you're doing it right. Your son made a hook shot, and he's like, Kareem Abdul Jabbar. And Jimmy was like, you taught him who Kareem Abdul Jabbar is.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, like, yeah, exactly. He should know who that is. Yeah. I was here with you guys on Hoda's last day. The Hodabration.
Savannah Guthrie
Hodabration.
Jimmy Fallon
We had a giant big party, and gosh, we love. And it was. I was about to go on and do a bit and say goodbye to Hoda, and as it was going on, you were leaving. I want to say we had just.
Savannah Guthrie
Done a little surprise for the fourth hour. We were all crying. It was 10am I think I had a. Like, I was out.
Jimmy Fallon
It was right. But I was leaving. And you guys, you go, all right. And I heard Craig, you go, I'll see you on Monday. And you go, here we go. Started the Craig era. It's happening or something like that. And it was such a moment. And I was like, oh, my God, I can't believe I was here for that moment. It was just like kind of a historic thing. And someone had taken a photo, I think, on your team, and here's you giving your hug, saying, I'll see you on Monday. And then me ruining the moment. I'm like, huh?
Tariq Trotter
What's going on?
Jimmy Fallon
You guys are happy.
Savannah Guthrie
You're like, photobombing.
Jimmy Fallon
Hi, guys. Yeah, I'm in history. I'm in the history books. Yeah. Has Hoda talked to you since the show began? Is she sleeping?
Savannah Guthrie
I may be talking to Hoda more than ever. I mean, we've talked every single day. She actually, like, got up earlier than me on Monday. You know, Hoda wakes up at 3am on Saturday, but she's doing great. You know, we FaceTime with her. But she. It's funny, like, you know, it's a new era. We gave her. Her this beautiful goodbye, but it's a new era. It's the Craig era. And we go in, we sit on the set, and there are these, like, trays. You probably have one. It's like, oh, it might have, like, a mint or whatever it is. We realized that all of the trays, they were all Hoda's stuff. And it was like, one Contact and, like, expired. Like, bean dip and, like, belly button lint and all this stuff. And I was like, you know, Craig, he's like, oh, I thought this was. I go, none of this is mine. Not on her side. Not on my side. So I. We just threw Right Eye center video. I was like, honey, we miss you, but here's what's happening.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, I want. We have a little video you brought for. This is the one you sent to Hoda.
Savannah Guthrie
Oh, hey, girl. Guess you didn't want any of this. Don't mind me. Oh, my God. Look at the trick.
Jimmy Fallon
This goggle. This gut's hilarious.
Savannah Guthrie
But look at the tray.
Jimmy Fallon
And I'm like, gross.
Savannah Guthrie
It had rust and barnacles on it. I mean, it's just.
Jimmy Fallon
I remember the one time, I think I went down there and I looked at Hoda's. Was her wallet or her.
Savannah Guthrie
Oh, yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Do you know what I'm talking about?
Craig Melvin
Yeah.
Savannah Guthrie
Her purse.
Jimmy Fallon
Her purse or whatever. It looks like a binder of papers. It looks like my dad's old wallet or has rubber bands around it.
Savannah Guthrie
Well, first of all, sometimes literally, on, like, a red carpet at a fancy event, she brings a Ziploc.
Jimmy Fallon
That's right.
Savannah Guthrie
And the Ziploc, which is clear, we'll have, like, a banana.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Savannah Guthrie
And like, a tampon. You're just like, girl.
Jimmy Fallon
I mean, it's a clear Ziploc bag. Yeah. You guys have a lot of fun over there, as well as doing the hard work. But one thing I always love when they kind of burn you a little bit, Craig. They show a childhood photo of you frequently.
Craig Melvin
They burn me frequently with them, like when they need time, or Roker usually does it.
Jimmy Fallon
Roker will show it. And this is a photo of you. And.
Craig Melvin
Oh, you're doing it, too. That's so nice.
Jimmy Fallon
I have to do it.
Savannah Guthrie
You're big time now.
Jimmy Fallon
Craig Melvin in seventh grade. Just tell me about this guy. Come on.
Tariq Trotter
Come on.
Jimmy Fallon
Now. Tell me about this guy.
Savannah Guthrie
Was he Jimmy?
Craig Melvin
We've stayed on it long enough. So my mother, you know, she was the first in the family to go to college, grew up in the projects, and she went out of her way. She was a schoolteacher, and she wanted to expose us to things that she hadn't been exposed to.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Craig Melvin
So I took magic classes. I did, like, oratorical contests. And at one point, she came home and she announced that I would be playing the violin.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Craig Melvin
No one in the family had played the violin. No, she certainly hadn't played the violin. I'd never seen anybody play a Violin.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, I think it's great. And so I just like that combo with the turtleneck. That's what I know. I think.
Craig Melvin
Well, she also clearly dressed me. She dressed me until the eighth grade. She didn't want us to hang out with girls, Jimmy. That was her way.
Jimmy Fallon
That was her way of doing it.
Savannah Guthrie
By the way, the control room has that basically on speed dial. It's like it's always ready. You just have to think about it and suddenly it's there.
Jimmy Fallon
You have to do it, and you have to have fun with each other, and it's all part of the job. Savannah, I want to say you have a new book coming up, by the way. Aw. Mostly what God does is love you. It's available February 25th.
Savannah Guthrie
Yeah. It's a children's book. And it's just a sweet, simple goodnight story reminding everybody that especially little kids. You may be small and he's big, but mostly what he's doing at any given time. Loving you.
Jimmy Fallon
Congratulations on that and thank you both for being here. You're gonna crush it, buddy. Thank you. When you come back, we're gonna play a fun game, okay? More with Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin after the break. The grind.
Tariq Trotter
Welcome back.
Jimmy Fallon
I'm here with Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin, co anchors of the Today show tomorrow starting at 7am if you're watching. Since now you're co host, I thought it'd be fun to test how well you know each other in a game we call know your co host. Here we go. Here's how it works. One of you will be wearing these noise canceling headphones while the other answers a question about you. You'll take off the headphones and we'll see if your answers match. If they do, you'll get a point. Very good.
Savannah Guthrie
Okay.
Jimmy Fallon
All right, here we go. Let's do this. Savannah, the first question is about you, so please put these on. Okay. That's the left. All right.
Savannah Guthrie
Okay.
Craig Melvin
Now keep in mind we've only been working together for three days.
Jimmy Fallon
No, we know each other. Yeah, it's good. All right. She can't hear you. Good. Okay, good. Craig, here's the first question.
Sam Heughan
Okay.
Jimmy Fallon
What show is Savannah always telling you that you need to watch and why?
Craig Melvin
Oh, God. The TV show that she's always telling me on. It's a girl show. It's a lot of girl shows.
Jimmy Fallon
Don't look, don't look.
Craig Melvin
There's that Christmas movie that the girls always watch. What's that Christmas movie that she's always talking about? It's not a Movie, though. It's a show. I don't know.
Jimmy Fallon
No, you have no. What are you talking about? You have to. No, you have to answer.
Craig Melvin
She's like, you should watch the Tonight show with Jimmy Fallon.
Jimmy Fallon
No, no, no, no. You think it's a Christmas show.
Craig Melvin
I can't remember. It's a.
Jimmy Fallon
It's a show she's always watching. All right, Savannah, take the headphones up.
Craig Melvin
It's a girlfriend.
Jimmy Fallon
I don't think. I think.
Savannah Guthrie
Can you ask him to summarize? War and Peace. Why did that take so long?
Craig Melvin
I was negotiating with Jimmy.
Jimmy Fallon
I don't know. I don't think he's correct on this at all. But I asked him. Maybe he is. What TV show is Savannah always telling you that you need to watch and why?
Savannah Guthrie
Oh, what TV show? Oh, I like a sports documentary. Like the Jordan. I like that Last Dance. I don't know.
Craig Melvin
Pterodactyl. You love that.
Savannah Guthrie
Oh, I like that. But I do like this. What did you say?
Craig Melvin
I said it was that Christmas movie that the girls all like.
Savannah Guthrie
Love, actually.
Craig Melvin
Love actually.
Jimmy Fallon
Love actually.
Craig Melvin
I've never seen Love, actually.
Savannah Guthrie
First of all, didn't he say what show?
Craig Melvin
Yeah, he said show.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, my God. All right, we're off to a great start.
Craig Melvin
Was there a correct answer? No.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes, there was.
Savannah Guthrie
It wasn't that movie that all the Girls like Sports Talks?
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Which he knew, actually. Yeah. Oh, Craig, you have to hit play on an old device, huh?
Savannah Guthrie
You're not cheating, are you?
Craig Melvin
No, I'm not cheating.
Jimmy Fallon
Savannah, what does Craig think is the best song ever written?
Savannah Guthrie
I have an answer, but I think that person's been canceled, so. Oh, I know. Belbiv devoe. Belbiv Devoe. Poison.
Jimmy Fallon
Really?
Savannah Guthrie
Yep.
Jimmy Fallon
Okay. All right. Very good. All right, good.
Savannah Guthrie
I'm just saying.
Craig Melvin
What did she say?
Jimmy Fallon
No, I think you got this. This is good. Ready?
Craig Melvin
She was very animated. Looks good.
Jimmy Fallon
All right. What does Craig think is the best song ever written?
Craig Melvin
Is it my karaoke song for my birthday?
Savannah Guthrie
I'm not telling you anything.
Craig Melvin
Shallow.
Jimmy Fallon
Who?
Craig Melvin
No, no, no. Wait a minute. What? What is the best song that I think was ever written?
Jimmy Fallon
Yes.
Savannah Guthrie
The drum roller's getting tired.
Craig Melvin
I'm sorry. Sorry, Quest. I don't know. I mean, man in the Mirror was great.
Jimmy Fallon
Man in the Mirror?
Craig Melvin
Yeah. I don't know.
Jimmy Fallon
Best song. What's one of your favorite songs?
Craig Melvin
Purple Rain.
Jimmy Fallon
How about Belle Biv DeVoe?
Craig Melvin
Oh, poison.
Jimmy Fallon
All right, there we go.
Craig Melvin
Now, to be fair. To be fair, my love of Poison and BBD is. It's more the performance like, we've done karaoke a number of times.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes.
Craig Melvin
And, like. And my brother and I. That's our go to karaoke song. Don't. You can't trust a big butt and a smile.
Jimmy Fallon
I know exactly the lyrics. Yes, you can. Yes.
Craig Melvin
Yeah. I really get into that.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Yeah. All right. Poison. All right, good. So you're into that.
Craig Melvin
Okay.
Jimmy Fallon
All right. We're getting close. Neither one of you got a point so far.
Craig Melvin
It's been three days.
Jimmy Fallon
Have you ever met each other, by the way? I know.
Savannah Guthrie
This is ridiculous.
Jimmy Fallon
I know. No, these are crazy questions.
Savannah Guthrie
Okay. They're hard questions.
Jimmy Fallon
All right. No, here we go.
Savannah Guthrie
Oh, wait, wait. Will you press play?
Jimmy Fallon
Yes, of course.
Savannah Guthrie
It's like, ipod. Okay.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes. Here we go. All right. Yeah. I love it. All right, here we go. Who is Savannah's biggest celebrity crush?
Craig Melvin
Oh, God, that list is long. I mean, you've got Costner, you've got Federer, you've got. I mean, yesterday she was all over David Beckham, Tom Hanks.
Jimmy Fallon
I'd say any of those.
Craig Melvin
It's Hanks or Federer.
Jimmy Fallon
Good. All right. Good.
Savannah Guthrie
Okay, I'm ready.
Jimmy Fallon
Savannah, who is your biggest celebrity crush?
Savannah Guthrie
Oh, that's so easy. Why did it take you so long?
Jimmy Fallon
Yes. Dude, say it.
Savannah Guthrie
Roger Federer.
Jimmy Fallon
All right.
Tariq Trotter
There you go. That's it.
Savannah Guthrie
Savannah, what is your name? Yeah, everybody knows that.
Craig Melvin
But to be fair, I gave them some backup options as well. Oh, Well, I said Mr. Costner.
Savannah Guthrie
Oh, I like Kevin Costner.
Craig Melvin
Mr. Hanks.
Savannah Guthrie
Yeah, I love Hanks.
Craig Melvin
David Beckham, yesterday.
Savannah Guthrie
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
All right. It's a long list. Okay, good. Craig, here you go. All right, Put that on. And, Craig, also cover your eyes with this last one.
Savannah Guthrie
Oh, and turn it up.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Ok. All right, Craig. Oh, he can't hear me. Cover your eyes, too. What's that? Cover your eyes, too.
Craig Melvin
Cover my eyes?
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, just. I don't want you seeing it. All right, Savannah, for this one, how does Craig dance? What would the name of the dance be called if it had a name? And could you show us the dance?
Savannah Guthrie
I think it. I think it does have a name.
Jimmy Fallon
It does.
Savannah Guthrie
I think it. So can I do it?
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, just do it.
Savannah Guthrie
I mean, I don't know if I can do it, but it's something like just.
Craig Melvin
What is happening? What's happening?
Savannah Guthrie
I think it's like the running man. Ok. You know, or maybe the cabbage patch. You know that one?
Jimmy Fallon
All right. Yeah. All right. So you're saying running man or cabbage patch.
Craig Melvin
So it's taking too long.
Savannah Guthrie
I'm gonna go running man.
Jimmy Fallon
Okay. Good.
Sam Heughan
All right.
Jimmy Fallon
All right. Here we go. Good. Do you want to tap him? Very good. Okay. Very good. Craig, I think you got this.
Craig Melvin
I heard the floor moving.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes.
Craig Melvin
I felt the floor.
Jimmy Fallon
This is good. You felt the floor moving. Here we go. You got this. I said, how does Craig dance?
Craig Melvin
Oh, man.
Jimmy Fallon
What would the dance be called if it had a name? And please show us the dance. Could you please do your dance for us?
Craig Melvin
Roots.
Jimmy Fallon
Can we get a beat?
Craig Melvin
I just got the job.

Seventh season. Yeah. Seventh season, Part B. Huge cliffhanger at the end. There's something for fans and.
Jimmy Fallon
Well, you told me this. One of your favorite finale.
Sam Heughan
It absolutely is one of my favorite finales. Incredible Outlander moments. Big, big drama, big cliffhanger. Something that I think everyone's going to be talking about for quite some time.
Jimmy Fallon
That's fantastic. You also wrapped the eighth and final season.
Sam Heughan
We did. Yeah. Outlander, after 11 years, 101 episodes.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, my goodness. Well done. Well done. Yeah.
Sam Heughan
Thank you.
Jimmy Fallon
Is it emotional? I'm assuming bittersweet, honestly.
Sam Heughan
I think the last year has been emotional. It's been a real roller coaster. And there's a huge gap, I think, in my life from that show. But it's been incredible. You know, the friends I've made, the cast, the crew, it's like family. It is like family, as you know. You know, it's like you spend all your time with these people and how do you, how do you end something like that.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Yeah. It's wild. But you, you, did you take anything by the Way.
Sam Heughan
Oh, well, I would have.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Sam Heughan
I. I was gonna steal a lot of. A lot of. Yeah. But they. They actually gifted me my kilt. My. I was gonna ask you jerkin.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Sam Heughan
But I was always. Always had my eye on it. And I was like, I'm gonna steal this on the last day. And I think they knew. I think they guessed that I was. I was gonna go for it.
Jimmy Fallon
What's a jerkin?
Sam Heughan
It's like a. It's like you wear a jerkin. Don't you wear a jerkin? Don't you wear a jerkin when it's cold? No, it's a British thing. Okay. It's like jerkin.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the jerkin.
Sam Heughan
Period jacket.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Sam Heughan
I'll get you one next time.
Jimmy Fallon
I.
Sam Heughan
Come on.
Jimmy Fallon
Thank you. I appreciate it.
Sam Heughan
I got the wig. I got the wig. No, yeah, I got the ginger wig. So. Yeah, I got his boots. So it's now sitting in my house. So if I ever need a little Jamie Fraser in my life.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, you could change it. Yeah.
Sam Heughan
Like Superman or something.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, exactly. Once you get the bat signal. Yeah. You go, I'm gonna turn into it. Yeah. I also saw that you went to see Taylor Swift.
Sam Heughan
I did.
Jimmy Fallon
She came to Scotland.
Sam Heughan
What a phenomenon. Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
No, she's unbelievable. How was the performance? It was great.
Sam Heughan
It was incredible. Honestly, we don't get a lot of these big shows in Scotland. We normally have to go to London. We have to go to bigger cities. And honestly, to see all the Swifties out there, it was really. It was a really special moment with the whole cast. It was towards the end of our filming the last season, so. So we were singing along and dancing pretty hard.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. You posted a fun video of you from the set of Outlander before you went. Take a look at this.
Sam Heughan
We're gonna go see Taylor Swift play in Scotland. And I think most of the cast is going. She obviously doesn't know this, but when she comes to Scotland and she sees me in the audience, she's gonna forget all about him and fall for a man in a ginger wig.
Jimmy Fallon
That's funny. Here's a picture of you and John Hunter Bell at the Eras tour. Did you bring your own bracelets? No.
Sam Heughan
I mean, the Swifties are so generous and they made all of these and we were getting given them all night, and it was just such an incredible atmosphere. And I still have the wig. Taylor, if you're watching.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Who will wear the wig? You did something pretty cool, too. You went to Nepal I did, yeah.
Sam Heughan
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Everest.
Sam Heughan
Yeah, I did. Yeah. So I always been obsessed with Everest and always wanted to go, and it felt like a great way to mark the ending of Outlander. And I did this amazing hike that's not been done before along the Hunkukola Valley, up 20,000ft, over the Ampalaza Pass, and then we rappelled into the Khumbu Valley.
Tariq Trotter
Whoa.
Sam Heughan
I know, right? I mean, it was horrific.
Jimmy Fallon
What is it? Here's you repelling. What's the altitude? What's that light?
Sam Heughan
That's what I'm saying. It was horrific because we were up at 20,000ft, and I mean, you can't breathe, you're being sick, you've got a headache, you can't sleep.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, it sounds fun.
Sam Heughan
I recommend it for everyone.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Glad you brought pictures. But you said the sunset was one of the most beautiful sunsets you've ever seen.
Sam Heughan
It was utterly incredible. We hiked up to Kala Pattar, which is a mountain opposite. This is Nupsea, which is next to Everest. I did get a photo of Everest. I promise. It's like. Oh, but this is here.
Jimmy Fallon
It's gorgeous. Yeah.
Sam Heughan
And we watched the sunset, and it was stunning, but also very, very cold. So we toasted it with some whiskey, and it was amazing.
Craig Melvin
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Well, you do have a great scotch.
Sam Heughan
Thank you very much. Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes, you do have a. This is a best selling. You're winning awards every time you come on. You come on. Since it launched.
Sam Heughan
I'm throwing it at you, Jimmy, I want you.
Jimmy Fallon
No, but because it's doing well. Thank you. I'm psyched about this. Last time, the Sassena.
Sam Heughan
Thank you.
Jimmy Fallon
And last time you were here. Last time you were here, I asked, make a cocktail for me. And you did.
Savannah Guthrie
You did.
Sam Heughan
Yeah, we made it. It didn't go so well, did it?
Jimmy Fallon
No. I mean, sure, it's fine.
Sam Heughan
Room for improvement, so. I thought it went so well. I'm gonna make a cocktail book. So I've got a cocktail book coming out.
Jimmy Fallon
You do, right? I do, yeah.
Sam Heughan
It's called Sam's Cocktail Diaries. It's about my journeys, the people I've met, the producers I've met. And I'm gonna make you. Or you're gonna make us one of the signature cocktails.
Jimmy Fallon
Okay.
Sam Heughan
Sazenac.
Jimmy Fallon
This is the Sazenac.
Sam Heughan
This is the Sazenac. It's gonna go really well this time because there's no egg white, no shaking.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. You had all sorts of things.
Sam Heughan
We've got all sorts of things in here. You can make this in the book. We've got some spice, simple syrup. We've got cherry liqueur. We're gonna put. You're gonna put four ounces of whiskey in there because we're making two here.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, okay. Yeah, Me and you. Yeah.
Sam Heughan
Or you could pour the whole bottle if you want.
Jimmy Fallon
Four ounces. Four ounces.
Sam Heughan
So that's two of those.
Jimmy Fallon
I've never used this. I have one, but I go, yeah, yeah.
Sam Heughan
Oh, no.
Jimmy Fallon
Well, okay.
Sam Heughan
Yeah, it's going well. Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
And then the old foul and pour. That's what they call it. And there you go. That's good. Perfect. That's really good. I could drink that right now. I don't need to add anything.
Sam Heughan
The idea was to go in the glass, but.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, it goes in there. I'm sorry. Yes. Sorry about that.
Sam Heughan
Give it a stir. I mean, pour it in a glass if you want, or just drink it from this.
Jimmy Fallon
What is this?
Sam Heughan
That's an absent spray. I've got a whiskey.
Jimmy Fallon
Am I gonna hallucinate, dude? Am I gonna hallucinate?
Sam Heughan
You're gonna smell like booze all day.
Jimmy Fallon
I do anyway. Don't worry about it. It's all good. Yeah. Spray.
Sam Heughan
There's a cherry.
Jimmy Fallon
All right, here we go. There you go. There and there.
Sam Heughan
Cheers.
Jimmy Fallon
Cheers. Thanks so much for being here. Sam Hewitt, everybody. Hey, before. No, I'll do that. I'll share with you. Tell me about the couple next Door.
Sam Heughan
Okay. The couple Next door is the show that's. It's Premiering after Season 7, Part B of Outlander on Friday. It's a new show. It's the most popular show. It was the most streamed show on Channel 4 in the UK recently.

Sam Heughan
It's. It's a psychological, sexy drama, has an amazing cast and the storyline is so explosive and it's. Yeah, you're going to love it.
Jimmy Fallon
