Jimmy Fallon
And featuring the legendary Ruth Cru 2073 G. And now here he is, Jimmy. That's it right there.
Joe Manganiello
That's a great. Thank you very much. Welcome, everybody. Welcome to the Tonight, you're here. This is it. Thank you for being here for our first show of 2025. That's right, the start of the new year means dry January has begun. Yeah, that's right. It is the month when millions of Americans go a whole week without drinking. Also, today is January 6th, so don't forget to wish your one uncle a happy anniversary. Of course, right now, a major winter storm is slamming the US with snow and ice stretching across most of the country. That's what every parent was looking forward to after two weeks at home with their kids. It's snow day. Yep. Over 60 million people are dealing with bitter cold temperatures. Here's how cold it is in New York City. The ball they dropped on New Year's Eve just went back up. A lot of people are talking about this. New York City just became the first US city to introduce congestion pricing, which is a $9 toll for anyone who drives into Midtown. And if that doesn't earn enough money, they're going to introduce a swear jar in Brooklyn. Meanwhile, for some vehicles, the toll is over $20. Or if you've got $20, you could just walk across the bridge and buy a brand new Nissan Leaf. Some news from Washington. Yesterday, during an event at the White House, President Biden brought a young man up on St. Happy birthday. And. Well, just watch this. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday.
Jimmy Fallon
Happy birthday to you.
Joe Manganiello
Yeah. What?
Jimmy Fallon
All right.
Joe Manganiello
Well, he still got it, so that's good. Happy birthday. Listen to this. I read a new report that said President elect Trump privately complains about how much Elon Musk is around. Yeah. Today, Trump jumped into a broom closet to hide from Elon. And Melania was like, hey, get your own spot. Yep. In two months, Trump and Elon went from love is blind to baby reindeer. You know what I'm saying? Some more political news. Today, Congress convened to certify the results of the presidential election, and Vice President Harris oversaw the process. Yep. Harris was like. And with that, my dry January is over. Even more upsetting, a confused Biden then walked in and sang her Happy birthday. Get him out of here. He's not even humming the. Yeah, guys. The 119th Congress just kicked off. It's a brand new group of people. But luckily Mark's made a quick song to help us get to know them all. Mark, take it away.
Jimmy Fallon
Thanks, Jimmy. The 119th Congress is an amazing group. They come from all over the country and every single one of them is unique. Let's do this. The 119th Congress has finally begun. Let's get to know the members. Come on. It will be fun. There's Mike and Mike and Mike and Mike and Michael, but he goes by Mike. There's Mike and Mike and Mike and Mike and.
Joe Manganiello
Hang, Hang on, hang on. Sorry, sorry. Is this real? All those guys named Mike?
Jimmy Fallon
Yep.
Joe Manganiello
How many mics are in Congress?
Jimmy Fallon
26.
Joe Manganiello
Let's skip ahead. The song a little bit there maybe.
Charli D'Amelio
Right.
Jimmy Fallon
This is textbook mic erasure, but sure, hit it. The 119th Congress minus all the mics. Let's meet the other members. I'm sure you're really psyched. There's John and John and John and John and John without an H. There's John and John and John and John.
Joe Manganiello
Okay, I think we get it.
Jimmy Fallon
Do you?
Joe Manganiello
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Cause guess who they elected to be their leader? Jimmy.
Joe Manganiello
Oh, my gosh.
Jimmy Fallon
Mike Johnson.
Joe Manganiello
Mark Kelly, everyone. Mark Kelly. Give it a. Wow. Learning. Hey, did you guys see this? Today, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his resignation. He resigned at 11am he's just like all of us. He got back from vacation, then after one hour of work, he's like, I'm out. And finally, Krispy Kreme and Pop Tarts are collaborating on a new donut collection. They're the only ones listening to everyone's New Year's resolution. Thinking, not on our watch. We have a great show. Give it up for the Roots.
Jimmy Fallon
Everybody got some fun.
Charli D'Amelio
What a show.
Joe Manganiello
Be sure to also stick around all week long. We've got some great shows coming up. Pamela Anderson will be here tomorrow. Jamie Lee Curtis will be on the show. And on Thursday we have Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx. Can't wait for that to be show. But first, what a show we have for you tonight. He's a talented actor. I love this guy, man. He's just great. And also great sense of humor as well. Super funny. Yeah, super talented. He's also the host of Deal or no deal. Island Season 2 premieres tomorrow at 8pm on NBC. And apparently something big happens. Ooh, like something crazy. Something crazy. Historic, Historically crazy. I'm going to talk to him about it. Yeah. Joe Manganiello is here tonight. Deal or no deal Island Season 2 tomorrow. She is a social media star who is currently making her Broadway debut in and Juliet, which is playing now at the Stephen Sondheim Theater. Charli D'Amelio is joining us tonight on Broadway. I did my world this morning, but I didn't do my connections. Really, I didn't do. Do you guys mind if we do Connections together right now? Is that okay? It's my favorite puzzle. I love doing it. It's time for tonight's show, Connections. Here we go. Let's do it. So the way it works, there are 16 random words or phrases, and our goal is to find the four groups of four words that share a common theme. Once we think we have one, I'll click submit and see if we're right. Higgins, you want to. Want to go first? You see anything there? Yeah, I think I do. What?
Charli D'Amelio
I see black.
Joe Manganiello
I see yellow. Yes. Brown and red. Okay. Oh, of course.
Charli D'Amelio
Karate belts, Right?
Joe Manganiello
What's in karate? Oh, karate belts.
Charli D'Amelio
Yeah.
Joe Manganiello
Oh, what'd you think it was? Colors. Oh, no, that's right. Karate belts. That's good. Let's see what it is. Yeah. The colors of the New York City snow.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh.
Joe Manganiello
That was close. Yeah, it's a match. So we got it. It wasn't karate. It wasn't karate belts. It was a good connection. You got one quest? Yeah, I think so. We got what? McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, and Arby's. Yeah. Okay, good. That's obviously fast food restaurant. Yeah, of course. Yeah. Let's see what it is. Required experience for the next White House chef. Either way, it's a match. Hey, it's a win trick. You want to play?
Jimmy Fallon
Okay, cool.
Joe Manganiello
What do you got?
Jimmy Fallon
Drano, Windex.
Joe Manganiello
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Lysol and Tide.
Joe Manganiello
Okay. They're all cleaning products. Yeah, I agree. They're all cleaning products. To see what the connection is. Or if it is a connection. Oh, it is what people drink during dry January just to feel something. Wow. All right, so that just leaves us with running, biking, swimming, and jogging. Let's see what that connection is. It is ways to get to the pharmacy to pick up your Ozempic. Oh, there you go. That's all for tonight's show, Connections. We'll be right back with Joe Manganiello.
Jimmy Fallon
Everybody weaving Ricky Jab, My favorite cartoon after Mavericks, the honeymoon. Want me your mind Just gag me with a spoon and tell me who love smash glass in my hands to put it to work. Yeah.
Joe Manganiello
Our first guest is a talented actor and the host of Deal or no deal Island. Season two premieres tomorrow at 8pm on NBC and streams the next day on Peacock. Everyone please welcome Joe Manganiello. Yeah, that's right. Welcome back. People love the Joe Manganiello. Welcome back to the show, bud.
Charli D'Amelio
Thanks for having me back.
Joe Manganiello
You look great. You're so stud. You know what? I follow you on the, on the socials and I, I know that you're a very adventurous guy and. Yeah. And so I. You posted something. I go, oh, this looks super dangerous. Where. Where were you? Here.
Charli D'Amelio
That is not very dangerous. What that is. That is a very slow moving aqua bike.
Joe Manganiello
I don't even know what an aqua bike is, but. Where'd you do that?
Charli D'Amelio
That is in St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the Sandals Resort. I spent Christmas there.
Joe Manganiello
Yeah. Fun.
Charli D'Amelio
Yeah.
Joe Manganiello
Riding around an aqua bike. Were you there for New Year's too?
Charli D'Amelio
No, actually came back unpacked, repacked, and then I'm friends with DJ Kilmore of Incubus.
Joe Manganiello
Yeah.
Charli D'Amelio
So Incubus played a like, kind of secret last minute show in Vegas and we went out to go see them.
Joe Manganiello
Oh, my God.
Jimmy Fallon
So, yeah.
Joe Manganiello
Living the life. I know that you're. You're a big Steelers fan.
Charli D'Amelio
Yes.
Joe Manganiello
You're a diehard Steelers fan.
Charli D'Amelio
Well, when you're born there, it's. It's religion. It's what you do on Sundays.
Joe Manganiello
It is, right? Yeah. Yeah. I know your friends got you like some crazy. Didn't they make you like a cake with like a Steeler helmet?
Charli D'Amelio
My girlfriend Caitlin. Yes. She made me a. It was a, like a Jersey cake with my name on it and then a helmet cake separate, that goes on the top.
Joe Manganiello
And the Steelers actually knows and embrace your fandom. You've been on the Jumbotron before. You've been part of the terrible towel twirl.
Charli D'Amelio
Yes. You come out, you wave the terrible towel before kickoff.
Joe Manganiello
Yes.
Charli D'Amelio
But they changed it this year where you get to run out of the locker room. Like you get to run down the passage and there's fog and lights. It's like wwe.
Joe Manganiello
What does that feel like?
Charli D'Amelio
It's incredible. I mean, it's like 65,000 people screaming and going berserk and doing what you're doing.
Joe Manganiello
That's so fun.
Charli D'Amelio
Probably not gonna let me do it in Baltimore this weekend, though.
Joe Manganiello
Yeah, no, probably not there. Duh. And how's Bubbles doing?
Charli D'Amelio
Bubbles is great. My dog Bubbles, she went to St. Vincent and the Grenadines as well.
Joe Manganiello
Does Bubbles now get recognized? Almost more than you? Because I feel like she's. She's been on the show here before, she's the most cutest chihuahua and she's.
Charli D'Amelio
Like got more stamps on her passport than most people do in their entire life.
Joe Manganiello
Yeah, she travels with you. Yeah.
Charli D'Amelio
So we. Last year I shot a comedy with Vince Vaughn where he and I played best friends. Love Vince Vaughn in this movie called Nonna's, which is about a restaurant in Staten island where the owner's mother passed away. And in honor of her, he went and hired Italian grandmas to cook your food. It's a real restaurant. You can go there. It's called Enoteca Maria. It's out in Staten Island. And so there's. Vince played him, and I played the best friend who actually exists in real life. So we went and met them and ate at the restaurant. Now they have a Puerto Rican grandma, there's a Japanese grandma, all sorts of other grandmas. Yeah. And so Vince and I were. We were shooting and we were staying in Hoboken. And on Sunday, everybody in Hoboken's out day drinking. So we were walking down, you know, the main drag there, and there was a bar and a table full of people drinking, and it's Vince Vaughn and me and this table full of people scream, hey, Bubbles.
Joe Manganiello
Bubbles.
Charli D'Amelio
It's like Vince and I in there.
Joe Manganiello
Yelling, yeah, Bubbles the dog. I told you. I knew it. She's got something.
Jimmy Fallon
She does.
Charli D'Amelio
And you know, it's funny because, you know, I was friends with Paul Rubens.
Joe Manganiello
Pee Wee Herman, my all time favorite, one of my idols.
Charli D'Amelio
Yeah.
Joe Manganiello
By the way, I just showed my kids your movie. It was a Pee Wee's holiday.
Charli D'Amelio
Pee Wee's big holiday.
Joe Manganiello
Big holiday. It holds up. It's one of the funniest movies. My kids loved it. The whole idea is Pee Wee's going to your birthday.
Charli D'Amelio
To my birthday party. Yes, yes.
Joe Manganiello
Favorite movie. It's a fantastic film.
Charli D'Amelio
And I play Pee Wee's best friend named Joe Manganiello. And I mean, imagine like Pee Wee Herman called me and was like, I want you to play my best friend in Pee Wee's comeback movie. It was like, what are you talking about? Yeah, but Paul used to have this super ugly hat that he would wear in public so that people would leave him alone. They'd notice this ugly hat, and by the time they realized, oh, that's Pee Wee Herman, he was gone.
Joe Manganiello
Oh, interesting.
Charli D'Amelio
So Bubbles is kind of like my ugly bubbles.
Joe Manganiello
Plug your ears. Yeah. You shouldn't be hearing that. Yeah. I want to talk about Deal or no Deal Island. You know, I love reality game shows and this is such A great mix. It's Deal or no Deal, but it's also kind of survivory. It's everything. Season one was awesome. But then in this trailer that I saw today, they said, you're going to make some history this year. Something maybe the largest prize in TV history.
Charli D'Amelio
So the person that wins this season, we give away the biggest prize in television history. In the history of television. And listen, like, I felt disingenuous during season one because we have this final case that the final contestant gets to play for. And in season one, it was almost $14 million. So we advertised you can win up to 14 million, but in order to.
Joe Manganiello
Win that case, it's crazy.
Charli D'Amelio
You have to gamble. You have to say no to every single other deal the entire game while picking every single other case off the board except for that one. So it's the most brazenly psycho gambling of money.
Joe Manganiello
Yeah.
Charli D'Amelio
Mixed with the luckiest person you've ever seen in your life. And I thought, this is not right. Like, I shouldn't be saying this because what psycho is ever going to. We found that psycho this year. I mean, like, I couldn't believe it was three in the morning. I'm in the jungle. I'm red in the eyes, sweating through my suit, like shaking because this person.
Joe Manganiello
Yeah. And you're like, keeps no dealing. And you go, stop, stop. You have a lot of money right now.
Charli D'Amelio
The insurance people were there. They were freaking out.
Joe Manganiello
No, NBC was freaking out.
Charli D'Amelio
Executives were freaking out because they picked the WR case. Then we're giving away five bucks and it's nothing.
Joe Manganiello
Well, that's good for NBC. They great. Hey, you won. You won five bucks. Get out of here.
Charli D'Amelio
So you keep hearing this screaming like you would hear no deal. And then you just hear through the jungle, like off in the distance, and.
Joe Manganiello
We'Re like, they count. No.
Jimmy Fallon
No.
Charli D'Amelio
It was the most insane thing I've, I've ever seen. I, I don't, I don't know that I'm ever going to see anything like that again. And, and it's, it's on film.
Joe Manganiello
Yes.
Charli D'Amelio
And, and we're kind. We're giving that secret away.
Joe Manganiello
Yep.
Charli D'Amelio
But you just have to watch the season. It's, it's, it's the craziest thing you'll ever see.
Joe Manganiello
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
I love it.
Joe Manganiello
Joe Manganel, everybody. DLO no Deal island premieres tomorrow at 8pm on NBC. Stick around, everybody, reminiscing about. Our next guest is one of the biggest social media influencers in the world. She is currently making her Broadway debut in and Juliet, which is now playing at the Stephen Sondheim Theater. Please welcome Charli D'Amelio. It is so great to see you. Thank you for coming back to the show. Thank you for having me. Last time I saw you was at Thanksgiving at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. You were fantastic, by the way.
D
Thank you. I know. So crazy to run into you.
Joe Manganiello
Yeah. It's early in the morning, too.
D
Yes, it was.
Joe Manganiello
But you gotta be on.
D
Oh, yeah.
Joe Manganiello
But you're dancing. You know how to do it. You crushed it.
D
I love it. It was. I mean, the iconic.
Joe Manganiello
Yeah. You were on Tom Turkey.
D
Oh, yeah.
Joe Manganiello
Oh, yeah. That was massive. Yeah. Did you get to enjoy the holiday? Did you stay in the city or were you.
D
We did have Thanksgiving off, so after the parade, I literally went home and slept the entire day and then back to shows the next day.
Joe Manganiello
I mean, because Broadway is intense. I mean.
D
Oh, yeah.
Joe Manganiello
I mean, it's kind of insane. We have a lot of great Broadway stars coming on the show. And I go, I don't know how they do it.
D
It is. It is one of the most amazing and one of the hardest things that I've done. You push your body and you do things that you think. Think you can't do, but you're surrounded by so much love. And we love the show. And you perform because you don't know if it's someone's first Broadway show or the only Broadway show they're ever going to go to.
Joe Manganiello
Yeah. You got to give it your all and you do it. That's great. Thank you. I saw that you were playing. You were playing the game. Heads up. Recently. And you're playing the game. And I'll show this just a photo. Your name is the clue. So, I mean, that's a very rare thing. Yeah. Yeah. That doesn't happen to many people.
D
No.
Joe Manganiello
Did you guess it? Number one?
D
It is. Well, it's very confusing because when it's you and you have to guess it, everyone's just pointing at you and you're like, girl, brunette? I don't know. But they're like, no, no, no. You specifically. I'm like, TikTok. I don't know.
Joe Manganiello
What do I say on Broadway?
D
Your name? And then I'm like, what?
Joe Manganiello
What? You're like, wait, what? That's real? Yeah. That's so rad.
D
Insane. One of the. Cool.
Joe Manganiello
And I saw that last week. You did this trend that people are doing now where you try to get your friends to guess what the different phrases that you all say around each other Mean.
D
Yes.
Joe Manganiello
And so I get that I don't really say that many different crazy phrases, but you do, and your friends do. I thought maybe we could run through a couple of these phrases and you could explain to me what it means.
D
Of course.
Joe Manganiello
All right, so if you and your friends say, that's cake.
D
Okay. I thought of this earlier.
Joe Manganiello
All right, we are.
D
This is the epitome TikToker Charli D'Amelio starring on Broadway. That's cake. Not real. No way. That is insane.
Joe Manganiello
Oh, it's not real.
D
You know, the show, like, is a cake.
Joe Manganiello
Is a cake. Yeah.
D
That's where we got it off of.
Joe Manganiello
Oh.
D
Oh, yeah.
Joe Manganiello
So you go, so this is. That's cake.
D
This is cake.
Joe Manganiello
This is cake. This is not real.
D
It's not real.
Joe Manganiello
Fantastic. All right. Let's be biad.
D
Let's be biad. That is.
Joe Manganiello
Let's be biad.
D
Let's be biad. That is when we're all hanging out and we just. Everyone decides to order from a different restaurant, and we just put it all out on the table, and everyone eats their own. We get from, like, five. The last one we did, we had, like, Wingstop five guys, pizza, pasta, and we just all eat from everything. Let's be biad.
Joe Manganiello
Let's be. We're gonna be biad tonight. Okay. Yeah, Okay. I like. I'm gonna steal that one. Let's be biad. Girlies check in.
D
This one is very important. This is a text thing. You text girly check in. Everyone likes it or is like, I'm good. I'm good. You're good. Make sure everyone gets home safe. Just to check in. How's everyone doing in the morning before a show? Oh, yeah, it's a cute little thing.
Joe Manganiello
Girlies, check in. I like that one. All right, good. This one. They like that. This one I kind of understood, but I don't understand it. But it says, what's your favorite color?
D
Yes. Okay, so I hate silence. So when we're all in a room and it's silent and I just need. I need conversation. I need something. I just go, so, what's everyone's favorite color?
Joe Manganiello
Okay, that's good. All right, now I understand that.
Jimmy Fallon
All right.
Joe Manganiello
I might steal that one too.
D
It's good. It's good.
Joe Manganiello
Congratulations again. You're on Broadway. I mean, that's a massive deal.
D
It is.
Joe Manganiello
You've been a dancer your whole life. Now you're on Broadway. Charli, what's it feel like? What was it like when you found out you got this role?
D
Oh, my goodness. I got the phone. I got a phone call, a FaceTime call from my agents, and my camera was off because I looked insane. They were like, I think you're gonna want to turn your camera on. And I was like, okay. So I did, and they said, you booked Angelia. And I immediately burst into tears, and I was like, home alone. I didn't know what to do, so I was just pac around my mouth.
Joe Manganiello
Like, girlies, check in. Girlies, check in. Let's go.
D
I needed that, and I was just so proud and nervous, but so excited. This is the dream. Everyone who loves their creative outlet, whether it's singing, dancing, acting, this is what you work for. And it is such an honor to be a part of it. And I'm having the time of my life.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes. That's what I'm talking about.
Joe Manganiello
I'm so happy for you. Everyone go check out and Juliet. Charlie D'Amelio, everybody. Runs through April 6th. Charlie at the Stephen Sondheim theater. More Tonight show after the break. Stick around. Congratulations.
Jimmy Fallon
I'm so happy. One and only in the flesh. Senegalese. The ever leonie and fresh to death, Big homie and them raps the best. Y'all know me from somewhere in the perspective. Westo. Let's go sing a song. Bring it on. More. Love the face. Some of y'all been trying for years. You never get this cool. Stay cool. Yeah.
Joe Manganiello
My thanks to Joe Manganiello, Charlie D'Amelio and the Roots right there from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Good night, everybody. Thank you.
Jimmy Fallon
