From Studio 6P and Rockin on the center in the heart of New York City, Mr. Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Bounce. Big Head tonight joins giving his guest, Dennis Clear, Andy McDowell that features Steve Legendary Roots 2084. And now here he is, Jimmy Fallon.
Wow. Thank you very much. Thank you. Enjoy yourself, everybody. Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Tonight Show. Thank you very much for watching, guys. It was another brutally cold day across the country. Wasn't it cold? It was so cold in New York City. On my way into work, I sat on my Uber driver's lap. No, I had to.
Tariq Trotter
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
It's the time of year in the city. I like to play a fun game called Guess which bottom leaf fluid made that patch of ice. That one has a Zinn pouch in it. Well, this is exciting. Today the nominations were announced for the 97th Oscars.
Tariq Trotter
That was great.
Jimmy Fallon
And Wicked was nominated for Best Picture. Yes. Yeah. People heard and were like, yes. A movie we've actually seen. This is the movie. I'm Still Here was nominated for best Picture. It's a film about Joe Biden's last six months in office. Hello. Hello. Sebastian Stam was nominated for Best Actor for his performance as Donald Trump. You can tell Sebastian is still in character because he's already claiming he won. Speaking of President Trump, today, he delivered a virtual address at the World Economic Forum's annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland. Yep. In his speech, Trump said the past 72 hours is nothing less than a revolution of common sense. While everyone at the meeting was like, oh, my God, it's only been 72 hours. It's a long January. Yep. Trump spoke to a forum in Switzerland, and then he signed an executive order changing the name of Swiss cheese to the cheese of America. Hey.
Tariq Trotter
Hey, guys.
Jimmy Fallon
Did you. Did you hear about this? A lot of people who followed President Biden and Vice President Harris on Instagram noticed that now they're following Trump and Vance. Yeah, the presidential Instagram account switched over but kept all the followers. Did that happen to anyone here?
A.D. Bryant
Yes, Jimmy. Yes, it did. It happened to me and my husband.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, wow. Were you guys surprised?
A.D. Bryant
We were shocked. Suddenly I noticed I was following Trump in Vance. And then I checked my husband's phone and I noticed that his account started following all these OnlyFans models. So weird.
Jimmy Fallon
Is that right?
A.D. Bryant
Yes. And that's not all. Somehow his phone also sent DMs to all the models that said, quote, I've been a bad widdle boy. I need to be punished.
Jimmy Fallon
Wow, that's strange.
A.D. Bryant
And it gets stranger. It's not just Instagram. His phone somehow opened up Cameo and ordered a video from a woman dressed as Velma from school. Scooby Doo, watch.
Jimmy Fallon
Ooh, jinkies.
Tariq Trotter
I heard someone's been a bad widdle boy.
A.D. Bryant
Get it together, Instagram.
Jimmy Fallon
Well, I can't unsee that. The married couple in the audience. Everyone, thank you for being here.
Tariq Trotter
Wow.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, my God. Well, switching gears to some TV news, CBS is working on a new FBI spinoff called FBI, CIA. So, Tuesday nights on CBS will be ncis, FBI, CIA, FBI, CIA. Not to be outdone, NBC is releasing Friends, the Office, which is good. Some more entertainment news. Ryan Gosling is in talks to star in an untitled Star wars movie.
Steve Higgins
Oh, boy, here we go.
Jimmy Fallon
Sorry, what's that tree?
Steve Higgins
Let me guess. I bet you're gonna do a bit where a whole bunch of Star wars characters talk about how hot Ryan Gosling is.
Jimmy Fallon
No, actually, we had no plans to do anything like that.
What?
Yeah, it just didn't come up.
Steve Higgins
Well, it would've crushed. Like, for example, Yoda would say, do or do not. That's easy.
Tariq Trotter
Do.
Jimmy Fallon
Now, where'd that graphic come from? Did you. Did you make that graphic?
Steve Higgins
Oh, and Admiral Akbar would be like, it's a trap. A thirst trap.
Jimmy Fallon
Drake, did you write a Star wars bit for the show?
Steve Higgins
Oh, Han Solo, right? He'd say, I have a hard feeling about this.
Jimmy Fallon
Okay, that's a stretch. But moving on.
Steve Higgins
Oh, whoa. Darth Vader. Darth Vader. He'd say, luke, he is your zaddy.
Jimmy Fallon
Great, great, Tariq. But we have other things to talk about. So do we.
Steve Higgins
Because I think the audience wants to hear what Chewbacca would say.
Jimmy Fallon
All right, thank you very much. You know, I like that one. That's a good Three Trotter, everyone. The best. Chewbacca. That's the best. That's the best. Chewbacca. That's not what Chewbacca. That's not what Chewbacca sounds like at all. Hooty hoo. Hooty hoo. He doesn't say Hooty hoo either. Hootie hoo.
What?
Oh, God. Guys, listen to this. Spirit Airlines updated their policy on appropriate attire and said that passengers can be kicked off a flight if they're barefoot, have improper clothing, or offensive tattoos. But if you have all three, they'll let you fly the plane. Some more business news. Starbucks is training its employees on how to de escalate conflict with people who want to use the bathroom without buying anything. Yeah, that's who I want to engage with. An angry stranger that desperately Needs the bathroom. Starbucks employees were like minimum wage, no health care. And I get to be the bathroom cop. Awesome. We have a great show.
Dennis Leary
Give it up for us.
Jimmy Fallon
The roommates go poison.
The Roots
Be alert and cautious. Those who get courageous will be nauseous, infected or contaminated soon. On the stable you and become radioactive.
Jimmy Fallon
I went to my second rehearsal last night.
Dennis Leary
How was it?
Jimmy Fallon
It's nerve wracking. I'm gonna be on Broadway next week. All in. These are stories by. It's about love. It's a comedy play about love. All these stories written by the great Simon Rich. Super funny and it's just a bunch of reading. Really.
Dennis Leary
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Is what I was told, right?
Dennis Leary
You were told that.
Jimmy Fallon
That's correct. But I'm just gonna go out and read. I can do that.
Dennis Leary
Sure.
Jimmy Fallon
It's not. No. So you have to. You have to project and perform. Yeah. So I've been rehearsing and reading it every single night. It's nerve wracking. It's crazy. So I went to great director Alex Timbers and so I went last night for three hours and just read with him. I don't know how he puts up with me, but we did it anyway. So it's next week. Next Tuesday through Sunday. I'll be in this. I'm lucky enough to be in this plane. January 28th, February 2nd. It's me, Nick Kroll, A.D. bryant and Lin Manuel Miranda. We'll be on stage.
Tariq Trotter
I'll check that out.
Jimmy Fallon
And the craziest thing, it's at the Hudson Theater.
Dennis Leary
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
That is where they started the Tonight Show.
Dennis Leary
Did they really?
Jimmy Fallon
Wow. Steve Allen. They filmed. That's where they first did it from the Hudson Theater. So I'll be going from the Tonight show over to the Tonight Show. It's kind of a cool thing. Hey, Steve. Yeah. We have a great show for you tonight. Gosh, he's one of my favorite comedians. I love him. He might be one of my favorite comedians of all time. I just love him so much. He's also an Emmy nominated actor. He stars in the new funny series Going Dutch which airs Thursdays on Fox and streams the next day on Hulu. Denis Leary is here this evening. The best. Love that guy. Ooh, I love her too. She's a talented actor who stars in the critically acclaimed show the Way Home. New episodes air Fridays at 9pm on the Hallmark Channel and streamed the next day on Hallmark. Andie McDowell is here.
Come on back.
Our first guest is a very funny comedian and an Emmy nominated actor. He stars in the new series Going Dutch which Airs Thursdays on Fox and streams the next day on Hulu. Please welcome Denis Leary. Hey, you're the best.
Tariq Trotter
Hey. I know. Hey, listen, it's the truth, and I'm just saying something that's been said a million times, but I really mean it. This band is literally the best band on television show. Just come on.
Jimmy Fallon
They're the great.
Tariq Trotter
These guys. They can play anything.
Jimmy Fallon
They can play anything. Yeah.
Tariq Trotter
How are you? I'm great.
Jimmy Fallon
You too, buddy. I want to talk about going Dutch and congrats on the new show, but I want to know, how's the fam doing? How's your mom?
Tariq Trotter
My mom is 97 years old.
Jimmy Fallon
That's right.
Tariq Trotter
Yeah. And my little tiny Irish immigrant woman, 97 years old, remembers everything. Okay. Not only does she remember everything, but she corrects me and my brother when we're telling a story, and then she remembers all the bad things my brother and I did growing up. So we might be telling a story in front of her, and she'll go, no, no, no, no, no. Okay. It was a week later, because I remember because that night you went out and you egged directory with your cousin Jimmy, and then she starts getting angry. Like, the anger comes back. Next thing you know, she's mad today about something that happened, like, 60 years ago. So, by the way, she's always right. When you check the dates, she's right.
Jimmy Fallon
She remembers all of them.
Tariq Trotter
It's really. It's a nice thing to know that genetically, I might have that over my kids one day. That's right.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Remember that? You'll remember everything. I was asking about the family because I saw this in Us Weekly. I don't know if you saw this. It's stars who you didn't know were related.
Tariq Trotter
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
You and Conan O'Brien.
Tariq Trotter
Yeah, this is true. And it's been out in different, you know, online and stuff. How we look like two Irish aunts. Look at us, the two of us. Oh, my God. I literally. We look like sisters.
Jimmy Fallon
That's what we look like, Conan.
Tariq Trotter
Two old sisters.
Jimmy Fallon
Two old sisters. It turns out to be sisters.
Tariq Trotter
So Conan was doing his original show, the 12:30 show.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Laying there.
Tariq Trotter
And I had been a guest on there a couple of times, but my parents are Irish immigrants. They come from the same town, Killarney in Ireland, and they came over in, like, 1950 by boat. But very few of their brothers and sisters came, so the bulk of the family was still in Killarney. Well, my uncle Patrick, who was the oldest brother in the O'Leary family, we got him a satellite dish, right? So that he could see shows that I was on, right? So one night he's watching me on Conan, and he calls up one of my other cousins and says, listen, this guy that Dennis is talking to, he's one of our cousins, and he writes down on a piece of paper like the. What he thinks is going on. And he was right because he said, I think this guy is a Riordan. That's. Riordan was the name of Conan's mom. And he said, I think there was a Riordan woman in Worcester, Massachusetts. Lived in a three decker. When your father and his brother Jerry got off in New York, they couldn't find work solid here, so they went out to Boston, to Worcester, because that's where this Reardon woman lived. And she got him. She put him in the basement and got him real jobs, like paying jobs under the table. And so when I brought this paper to Conan and I said, Reardon. He went, oh, my God. My family was originally from Worcester and then went to Brookline. So we're like, oh, my God. Now look at us. First of all, both of us, we're all legs, right? I have no torso. My waist starts right below my nipples, right? So these pants. This is a fake waist here. This is the real waist. So. And look at my hair and look at Conan's hair and look at our. It's the same.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, it's the same skin.
Andie McDowell
Wow.
Jimmy Fallon
You're related.
Tariq Trotter
It's the same family. And by the way, where is your family from in Ireland?
Jimmy Fallon
I don't really know.
Tariq Trotter
You gotta find out.
Jimmy Fallon
I really want to find out.
Tariq Trotter
I want to go because we're all one tribe.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, yeah. I want to find out. We're related. That'll be fantastic.
Tariq Trotter
Yes, you are. Like, I'm related to every talk show host in America. Your uncle was right, you know, Your uncle was right.
Jimmy Fallon
One thing we do have in common, we both love music. Yes, I know. We both love the Rolling Stones. But I read something that. I don't know if this is true either. I heard that you once either went on tour.
Tariq Trotter
Yes, Jagger, totally true. With the Stones. I can't believe you didn't know. I can't believe I didn't tell you this. So Nick Jagger asked you to. Yeah. So 1994, the stones are doing the Voodoo Lounge tour. I actually got a call at my house from a guy and he's like, mick Jagger wants to talk to you. I'm like, sure, you're right. Mick Jagger wants to talk to me. And I did I was on the phone with Mick Jagger. He had this idea. He wanted to do a doc, a different kind of documentary film about the Voodoo Lounge tour, Right. So we talked on the phone, and we ended up coming up with this idea, which was that it would be a real documentary in terms of the music on stage, but there would be a story off stage. Right. So he hired me and Ted Demme, the great, late, great Ted Demme. Ted did the Ref, and he did no Cure for Cancer and all my MTV spots.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes.
Tariq Trotter
Great director. And so Teddy and I came up with this idea, which was that eventually we would shoot all the other Stones. They would just improvise from an outline, right? So that was the idea.
Jimmy Fallon
It was like a comedy thing.
Tariq Trotter
A comedy thing that would be along. And that was a great idea until we went to the first night of rehearsals in Washington, D.C. and we meet Mick for the first time, which was an amazing thing, like, to meet Mick Jagger. And he says, so listen, I can't do Mick. You do Mick. I can't do Mick.
Jimmy Fallon
Exactly.
Tariq Trotter
Right? So he goes, you got to get out in the hall and explain the idea to Keith. And we go, what? He's like, he's not listening to me. We're not really talking. You go down the hall and talk to Keith. Right.
Jimmy Fallon
So the band doesn't know.
Yeah.
Tariq Trotter
Me and Teddy are like, we have to go explain the idea to Keith Richards, who immediately says, I'm not doing any improv. I'm not doing any acting. I'm just playing the songs. And Ron was in his dressroom, so he's like, me neither. So we're like, great. So I guess Darryl, who was brand new at that time, maybe we could talk him into it. He was very gun shy about the idea just because he was brand new. He was the new bass player. So we shot a couple of things with me and Mick because eventually the idea was that Teddy and I would also become characters. I think one of them is online where I'm stealing some stuff when Mick's given me the merchandise tour, you know, behind the scenes, and I steal something and he catches me. And he was great. Mick was great.
Jimmy Fallon
And he ended up never airing.
Tariq Trotter
We worked on it. We kept. We were with them off and on for about four or five months. We would stay with them for like a week. We knew Keith was never going to, you know, fold into the idea. But I'll tell you, this is the weird part. So it was awesome, right? They. They were so gracious. They said when we were in New York, they Said, bring your wives and everything to the gig. Which was great. And then we went back on the road and they said, listen, if you want to bring anybody else on the road, we own basically each hotel that we stay in. So I brought my older brother and my. One of my best friends, Chris Phillips, who co wrote the song, right? Oh, yeah. So I brought them to whatever city it was. And we were, you know, you're with the Stones. And when they leave the gig in a caravan after the last song, we're in that caravan, which is cool enough. But I'm telling them in the van, like, when we get to the hotel, we're going to be with the Stones having drinks and eating. Do not take pictures. Don't ask for an autograph. Be cool. Don't talk. Yeah, be cool. Do not talk to these guys unless they talk to you. So we get there, I immediately have to take a piss. So I go, all right, I got to take a piss. You guys wait right here. I go, I come back, not a minute later, Chris Phillips is talking to Ronnie and Keith at this table over here. And I'm like. And I run over and I go, what's going on? And they go, we're talking to him about the song. We love it. It's one of our favorite songs. And Chris is explaining how we came, and I'm like, oh, my God. So I sit down at that table. Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood are asking about the song. And now over Ronnie's shoulder, I see Mick Jaguar is bringing my brother a Heineken at this other table. So I run over there and I'm going, what's going on? He's like, I'm talking to your brother about the set list. Cause like, he was saying, maybe we should move. Start me up.
Jimmy Fallon
One minute you were gone. One minute you were gone.
Tariq Trotter
One minute.
Jimmy Fallon
One minute you're gone.
Tariq Trotter
My brother's telling you, yeah, you should move. Start me up to the beginning of the show and take Honky Tonk Woman and do that later.
Jimmy Fallon
That's fantastic.
Tariq Trotter
I know, it was amazing.
Jimmy Fallon
I love that.
Tariq Trotter
It was amazing. And then I ran into Keith. The only other time I ever saw him after that was I was on a beach on vacation in Turks and Caicos by myself. Six o'clock in the morning, get very quiet. Empty beach, getting a swim in. And I lay down smoking a cigarette. And I look up and I see it looks like a seal pops up in the ocean. And it starts moving towards the shore. And it comes up and it's a grown man in a Woman's blouse tied at the waist, men's swimming trunks. And then I go like this. He's got stuff hanging out of his hair. It's Keith Richards. He goes, hey, man, you gotta smoke, right? And I go, yeah, there's nobody on the beach. And I hand him a cigarette, and he lights it up and he goes, all right, see you later. And he walks away. Never saw him again.
Jimmy Fallon
That's a fantastic story. Did it really happen?
Tariq Trotter
I don't know.
Jimmy Fallon
But by the way, no good deeds. I just want to mention you're great in that, too. You fight Ray Romano twice?
Tariq Trotter
I fight him, yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Dude, you've been buddies forever. Was it weird fighting Ray?
Tariq Trotter
Well, it was weird. It was great to actually act opposite Ray. Not like in animation, because we were in Ice Age together. And we had two scheduled fight scenes where we got the first, like, four scripts. And we're both, you know, we're getting up there, and he called me and he goes, hey, man, did you see these fight scenes? And I go, yeah. And he goes, well, what do you think? We're not doing them, right? I go, well, I'm not. Stunt people get hired for a reason, Ray, right? And I have to wear knee braces and stuff, even when I play hockey. So I'm like, I'm wearing knee brace. We get to work the day of the first fight scene, which is the bedroom fight scene. Yeah, I've gone on knee braces, compression sleeves everywhere else, right? Ray's gone on this, like, back brace thing. He's got a cup on. He's got, like, shin pads on, right. And ankle protection. And I'm like, this is going to be some great fight scene. So we literally. We explained to Shauna Diggins was the stunt coordinator, and she's like, all right, we need you guys to do part of it. You know, it's in a bedroom. It's like, we have to see your faces. So we do the first take, she tells us kind of what you want, and we get down. We go, how was that? She goes, that was horrible. It was like two elephants moving in slow motion. It's just like, what are you guys doing? You know?
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, my God, it's so good. You're great in it. Let's talk about your show going Dutch.
Tariq Trotter
Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
Congrats on this. Thursdays, Fox. Can you set up who you play and what the setup is?
Tariq Trotter
Thursdays on Fox and always on Hulu. It's written by this great writer, Joel Church Cooper, who did Brockmire with Hank Azaria. Oh, yeah. And the Premise is this sort of like George Patton esque, very famous for winning battle soldier, colonel gets, you know, mouths off and gets caught on camera mouthing off about the chiefs of staff and they decide to get rid of them. And what they do is they send them to a non combat base which is based on a real base in the Netherlands where all they do is make cheese and do the laundry for the other 32 bases of NATO bases.
Jimmy Fallon
Right.
Tariq Trotter
There's no guns, there's no tanks. And the reason they send him there is because his estranged daughter actually runs that base. And they figured that he'll just quit once he finds out that he's stationed with her. That's the premise.
Jimmy Fallon
It's really funny.
Tariq Trotter
I. I hope people like it. Yeah, they're liking it so far.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Going dachos Thursdays on Fox and streams the next day on Hulu. We'll be right back with Andy McDowell. Stick around, everybody.
The Roots
Yellow the best special sound the road long enough to be considered a gown Door trim sharp enough to be considered a crown when the plate come take some pass it around it's the band Hot tip hop loving him Opportunity to stand or not More people in the hood found Got some guns shots springing off brand.
Jimmy Fallon
Our next guest is a fantastic actor who stars in the critically acclaimed show the Way Home. New episodes air Fridays at 9pm on Hallmark Channel and stream the next day on Hallmark. Everyone please welcome Andy McDowell. I'm so happy you're here. I'm so happy you're here at this time of year as well. Because it's almost Groundhog Day.
Andie McDowell
It is. I know, I know.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Is the holiday different for you now that you're kind of the poster for Groundhog Day? I mean, people think of that movie.
Andie McDowell
I just, you know, it was such a beautiful movie and I loved it. Yeah. And I loved Harold Ramis. It's the nicest man I've ever worked with and brilliant. And I'm really proud of it. I think it's a gorgeous movie.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Andie McDowell
And it's deep. You know, it has a lot of Buddhist. It's really deep. I mean, it's a comedy, but there's so much.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Cause you can't get that spark. You can't make it up. It was just so well done. And of course, Bill Murray.
Andie McDowell
Bill Murray, who's fantastic. He's so good.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, yeah. I love him.
A.D. Bryant
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Was he fun to work with?
Andie McDowell
Bill is fun, but he's crazy.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's why he's fun.
Tariq Trotter
Yeah, yeah.
Andie McDowell
That's why? He's fun. Yeah, yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Give me a story. Do you have anything?
Andie McDowell
Well, I have a lot.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Andie McDowell
But I think that one of the most interesting stories. I'm a rule follower. Like, I follow all the rules, you know, I don't break rules like this. I show up, I'm always on time, I'm never late. And we were in the car. We had the walkie in the car and I don't remember what scene we were doing. And he just drove off. Just left.
Jimmy Fallon
He just left the set.
Andie McDowell
Left the set with you? With me? Yeah, with me in the car.
Jimmy Fallon
And no cameras and nothing. You just started driving?
Andie McDowell
No, no, just. And went for a drive. Just for a drive. And I said, what are we doing, Bill? He goes, we're going to go for a drive. I was like, okay. I was so anxious, I can't tell you.
Jimmy Fallon
But he's not nervous?
Andie McDowell
Oh, no, Actually not nervous. He's completely doing exactly what he wanted to do. We ran around for a little while and then we went back.
Jimmy Fallon
I mean, come on.
Tariq Trotter
It's so good.
Jimmy Fallon
You've been in tons of great films and I love everything you're in. But now your daughter's in the business. Now she's Margaret Qualley.
Andie McDowell
Oh, yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Is crushing it.
Andie McDowell
Yeah, she's crushing it. She's really brave.
Jimmy Fallon
She's great in the substance, by the way. She's just great in everything.
Andie McDowell
She's good in the substance and the movie is fantastic and she takes so many chances. She's so much braver than I could have ever been. She really carved her own road and I'm super, super proud of her.
Jimmy Fallon
But you were telling me backstage that you're experiencing something called reverse nepotism.
Andie McDowell
I am now.
Jimmy Fallon
Reverse nepotism.
Andie McDowell
Yeah. Like, I am now. You know, they always accuse the children of. Yeah, but I'm now cool because I'm Margaret Qualley's mom. And also I'm Jack Antonoff's mother in law.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, yeah.
Andie McDowell
You know, it's a double whammy. Oh, really? Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
People are coming up to you like.
Andie McDowell
Oh, yes, letters in the mailbox. I think you're wonderful. And, you know, they're 13.
Jimmy Fallon
Last time Margaret was on the show, she did an impression of you, by the way. I wanted to get your take on that.
Tariq Trotter
You saw it.
Jimmy Fallon
Here's Margaret's impersonation of her mom, Andi Tal.
Andie McDowell
My mom came to that premiere and she. We got out of the movie and she's like. She's like, my friends can't see this movie. My sisters can't see this movie.
Jimmy Fallon
No one can see this movie that I see. It's a good impression. What do you think? Right?
Andie McDowell
Yeah, it's good. You should see their impression of me dancing.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, really?
Andie McDowell
Yeah. I was thinking if they could give me some music, I'll show you what I dance like.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Roots. You got any dance music?
Andie McDowell
Ok. Ok. They make fun of me. I think I'm fabulous.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, let's go.
Tariq Trotter
I love.
Jimmy Fallon
You're fantastic dancer.
I love your dancing.
I know that dancing. That's fantastic.
See, Margaret?
You see, Margaret? That's how it's done. I want to talk to you about one of your first job in this industry was modeling. Was L'Oreal?
Andie McDowell
Yes. Well, yeah, actually I got L'Oreal when I turned 27. And so it's going to be. This year will be 40 years, which is really remarkable.
Jimmy Fallon
Andy, that's amazing.
Andie McDowell
It is amazing. Like, can you. Anybody that could work with the same company for 40 years, you know, it's.
Jimmy Fallon
Like never unheard of.
Andie McDowell
Yeah. It's like, wow. But in the beauty business, it's really remarkable, I think.
Jimmy Fallon
I mean, you got to say. Because I'm worth it.
A.D. Bryant
Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
I mean, that's. I mean, iconic. I mean, how many times do you think you've said that?
Andie McDowell
I have no clue. Plus, you know, because when you shoot a commercial, you say it over and over again, you know, because they want to choose what take.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Andie McDowell
So I have no idea how many times I've said that. Said that line. And I know how to do the head swing and everything. Oh, yeah, yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
You look in, you just go, because I'm worth it.
Andie McDowell
Yeah, that's it.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, exactly.
Andie McDowell
Very good.
Jimmy Fallon
Was it always because I'm worth it? Was that always?
Andie McDowell
Sometimes it's because you're worth it and because we're worth it. And for a while there, I thought those were more generous. But as I have aged, I have come back to. Because I'm worth it. Because. No, I'll tell you why it's quite. Yeah, yeah. Because a lot of times people want to diminish you as you age. So it really has a lot of. It means something to me to be able to say I'm worth it.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, that's right.
Good.
Love that.
Andie McDowell
Wild.
Jimmy Fallon
I want to talk about your new show. Congrats on the great reviews. It's called the Way Home. Everyone loves it. I think Variety said it may be the most underrated show on television.
Andie McDowell
Oh, yeah?
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. It's on the Hallmark Channel, but it's not A Christmas movie.
Andie McDowell
No, it's spicy Hallmark.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes. This is spicy Hallmark.
Andie McDowell
Spicy Hallmark. That's what I say.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. How do we describe the show?
Andie McDowell
Oh, well, you know, it's three generations of women, all strong women. So you have these deep relationships. But what makes it so unique is it's. There's a time travel component and. And you get to, you know, you go. They go through the pond and they time travel. I lose my son. And everybody knows now because it's season three. And if you haven't watched it, that's just too bad.
Tariq Trotter
Spoiler alert. Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Okay.
Andie McDowell
You need to.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Watch it. You got two seasons to catch up on. Yeah.
Andie McDowell
Anyway, my son has. He disappears and we all think he drowned, but he actually went through the pond and he was in a different time. And then my daughter goes and finds him. Yeah. So it's got a lot of intrigue and mystery and suspense for Hallmark. It's a really unique show. I love Hallmark and I know you do.
Jimmy Fallon
I love that. I love it. Big show. Come on.
Andie McDowell
Tell me your dad likes Hallmark.
Jimmy Fallon
My dad loves.
Tariq Trotter
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
My mom and dad used to watch Hallmark all the time. And since she passed, you just still watches.
Andie McDowell
Oh, that's so sweet. I love that.
Jimmy Fallon
I love it. But also I love what they do. They have these, like, fan cons, like Hallmark con or whatever.
Andie McDowell
Oh, I went. Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
What's it like? I would love to go to that.
Andie McDowell
Well, I tell you, it was sweet because the fans are so lovely. Really gorgeous. They make you want to cry. They're so lovely. But I got to stand on the stage with a bunch of Hallmark hunks.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, yeah.
Andie McDowell
Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. I know. I mean, I shouldn't be surprised.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Andie McDowell
But I was. Oh, my gosh. Their arms are so, so unbelievable. They're really like. I mean, you know, I touch them and I would be like, oh. Like that would say, oh, oh, oh. And then I'd feel so shameful because I shouldn't be doing that. You know, I should woo. And I want to touch them again. Can I touch your arm? Because I have an. We have an idea.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, really?
Andie McDowell
Yes. Ok.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, my God.
Tariq Trotter
Oh, my.
Jimmy Fallon
Really?
Tariq Trotter
Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
Really?
Tariq Trotter
Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
I got potential.
Andie McDowell
Okay. The ladies back there really want you to be in a Hallmark hunk off.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes. That's what I mean. Two episodes of the Way Home air Fridays at 9pm on Hallmark Channel and stream the next day on hallmark.
