Studio 16, Rockefeller center, in the heart of New York City. It's the Tonight show starring Jimmy Salon. Hey, hey, hey, hey. Tonight showing Jimmy this guest, Orlando Blues Antonio Gentry, Edward Jane Alden, comedian Jack Buncerno. And featuring the legendary Ruth Bruce. 2147. And now, here he is. Give me palace. Thank you very much. Enjoy yourself. Welcome, everybody. Have fun. Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Tonight Show. You're here. You made it. Thank you very much. Well, guys, there's just five days left until Father's Day. That's right. Yeah. No one cared at all. Yeah. Five days left till Father's Day. This year, everyone's rushing to buy a Father's Day card before kids, Elon's kids, get them all sold out. Some news from Washington. Preparations are underway for President Trump's big military parade this Saturday to celebrate the Army's 250th birthday. That's right. Trump's parade will include dozens of tanks, rocket launchers and missiles. Even Kim Jong Un is like, that's a bit much. No. And get this. Officials are also installing 18 miles of anti scale fencing around the parade. Yeah. Trump's been anti scale ever since he waited in his last physical. This can't be right. There's no way that. Let me hold onto the Ranald balloon. Oh, zero pounds. The parade will also feature army personnel wearing uniforms from the Civil War. And since it's Trump, people are wondering which uniforms. Thank you. No, I was just asking. I was just asking. Meanwhile, today, Trump kicked off his week of celebrating the military by holding an event at the army base Fort Bragg. For some reason, Trump at a place called Fort Bragg just feels right, doesn't it? Of course, Trump posted a lot of pictures of himself at the party to show everyone that he's handling the breakup way better than Elon. He's like, just one more selfie of us laughing. I'm gonna post that one. I gotta post that one. Yet the fallout continues over Trump's national divorce from Elon Musk. And Trump said that he's not even thinking about Elon. I'm not sure that's true. Check out what happened today at the White House. Has Elon called yet? No, sir. Texted? No, sir. Emailed? No, sir. Faxed? No, sir. Poked? No, sir. Slapped? No, sir.
Orlando Bloom
Floorped?
Jimmy Fallon
Not a thing, sir. Slid into my DMs. No, sir. Telegram? No, sir. Carrier pigeoned? No, sir. Message in my Alphabet soup? No, sir. Oh, well, maybe tomorrow. Goodbye, sir. I keep dancing on my own. Eli. Wow. Oh, my gosh. Wow. You got that footage well, some business news. Apple just held their big Worldwide Developers Conference, where they announce all new features for their phones. For example, you'll now be able to ask your phone to identify images that you've screenshotted. Yeah, it's pretty cool. There's working out the kink still, though. I mean, look, first up, if you show this image of Melania, it says the mask. You see what I'm saying? Like, it's still working out. They're not sure. Yeah, like. Like when you show this picture of J.D. vance, right? It says a Labubu doll. And you.
Orlando Bloom
That's.
Jimmy Fallon
Come on, man. That's not. That's not right. I mean. Up next, when you showed this picture of Mitch McConnell, it says it's a smiley french fry. And you go, that's smiley face french fry. That's not fry. No. When he showed this picture of Marjorie Taylor Greene. Yeah. It says Daemon Targaryen. And then you go, no, it's not. Almost. Next up, if you show it this picture of President Trump, it thinks it's the logo for Panera Bread. And you go, no, that's. That's not bad. That's. Here's another one. If you show it this picture of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, it just says Megan. And then you go, no. Up next, if you show it the Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles, it says it's this emoji. And you go with us. And finally, when you show it Don Jr. And Eric, it says chicken jockey. They gotta work out.
Orlando Bloom
They gotta work out the king.
Jimmy Fallon
Well, switching gears, the TSA just reminded travelers that Costco cards cannot get you through airport security. However, it does count as a pilot's license for Spirit Airlines. Well, listen, apparently Mr. Beast spent $500,000 to rent out Disneyland so he could have a private date night with his fiance. Oh, nothing more romantic than being all alone in the hall of Presidents. Some entertainment news. I read that CNN's live airing of George Clooney's Good Night and Good Luck pulled in over 7 million viewers. It's odd. People will watch a play about the news on cnn, but they won't watch the news on cnn. Interesting. CNN is going to try to recapture the magic next weekend by airing a live production of Annie starring Wolf Blitzer. Stick around. We'll be right back with more Tonight show, where the Champions Go. Our first guest is a very talented actor starring in the new film Deep Cover, which is available on Prime Video. This. Please welcome Orlando Bloom.
Orlando Bloom
Wow.
Jimmy Fallon
Orlando Bloom. Welcome back to the show. They love you, but who did you. Who came out with you? Is that a real thing?
Antonia Gentry
This is a real.
Edward St. Aubyn
Can you believe this thing? So my manager calls me and says, you know, you're trending. And I'm like, well, that's great. I'm trending. Well, not exactly you. It's the dog.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, the dog's a big hit. Yeah.
Edward St. Aubyn
So I'm like, but this is Biggie Smalls.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, Big. Yeah.
Edward St. Aubyn
Thank you very much.
Jimmy Fallon
Biggie Smalls. It is a pleasure to meet you, Biggie. Nice to see you. Oh, my gosh. He looks fake.
Edward St. Aubyn
Yeah, he does look fake.
Jimmy Fallon
How long have you had Biggie Smalls?
Antonia Gentry
Ten months.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, my.
Edward St. Aubyn
I was told I need a whisper of a dog.
Jimmy Fallon
That's what it is.
Edward St. Aubyn
You do. I travel so much, but I do love dogs. And I'm like.
Jimmy Fallon
He just is like, he goes with you.
Edward St. Aubyn
He's a real emotional support animal. Because I'm very emotional right now.
Jimmy Fallon
You really are. Every time we get together. Yeah. Every time I see you, I do see Biggie Smalls. I follow you on the socials.
Edward St. Aubyn
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
You're a good follow, by the way. Orlando Bloom. Yes. You're very good. I do enjoy.
Edward St. Aubyn
I do my best.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes. I was looking at a video of you cold plunging, which I know is a thing that is. It's a little crazy for me, but I don't know if I could do it. But you have a video of you doing a cold plunge. Look at this thing.
Edward St. Aubyn
Nothing like the cold.
Jimmy Fallon
You go all the way under.
Edward St. Aubyn
Yeah, that's the. That's the cherry on the top of the cake right there.
Jimmy Fallon
No, but wait. But that is the cherry on the top cake. No one does that thing. Everyone does the cold plunge, and they get out and they go, you went all the way under. And I could never do that.
Edward St. Aubyn
You know, that's the deep feel. Actually, Laird Hamilton taught me that trick. Cause Laird, I learned to cold plunge like, this is eight, 10 years ago. He's been doing it forever.
Jimmy Fallon
Really?
Edward St. Aubyn
And it's taken off. But, like, it's a shame. He didn't have rights in cold plunging. If he could have done it. But he.
Jimmy Fallon
But what does it do for you? I mean, just.
Edward St. Aubyn
It's like. It's great for your immune system, but it's a total reset. Like, you literally. I mean, you know, a cold shower will do it, but if you. If you just get in the cold, suddenly it's like, ding, I'm here, I'm alive, I'm present. And thank you very much.
Orlando Bloom
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
And if we all do a Cold plunge. Will we look like Orlando Bloom?
Edward St. Aubyn
You probably look like Biggie Smalls.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Which is a better way. No, no. Oh, what a co. He's so cute. I also saw. I want to ask you all of these things because I also saw a photo of you skydiving.
Edward St. Aubyn
Oh, yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Is this real? Is this like a.
Edward St. Aubyn
Out of a helicopter, no less. Yeah, that's me. That's me.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Edward St. Aubyn
Just on my weekend.
Jimmy Fallon
How. How scary is that?
Edward St. Aubyn
Scary. Actually, skydiving is fine. Skydiving is an amazing sport and it's fun, but it is a. It is a lifestyle choice. You can't just jump into a. And I learned to skydive because I did a show. Orlando Bloom to the Edge.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes.
Edward St. Aubyn
And if you get that, by the way. Oh, thank you. If you get 25 sky jumps, then you get your A license. My 27th jump was in a wingsuit. Now, that is scary.
Jimmy Fallon
That.
Edward St. Aubyn
I will tell you. A wingsuit is like a squirrel suit. It's like.
Jimmy Fallon
No, yeah, I've seen this.
Edward St. Aubyn
Yeah. I mean, you see guys going through crazy like.
Jimmy Fallon
Like you can steer with it, right?
Edward St. Aubyn
Yeah. You. It's the fastest you can be propelled as a human on the planet without an engine or something. And you literally feel like you're flying. And I. The last stunt of the show was I flew eight. I threw five miles over the ocean, landing on Pismo Beach. But it's like, what did it feel like? Like I was flying and terrifying. Like, literally, if.
Jimmy Fallon
Like a superhero.
Edward St. Aubyn
Yeah, like a superhero. Yeah. By the way, Marvel, I'm ready.
Jimmy Fallon
Marvel, I'm ready. But, like.
Edward St. Aubyn
I mean, I don't know. Everyone else is playing and I'm doing it. I was like, you literally, like, you. Like, if you even move your foot slightly, you could go into a tumble, and then the fear is you tumble, and then you've got to pull a chute, and then you're upside down, and then you got to pull a chute again. It can go south very fast because depending on when you.
Jimmy Fallon
We have a clip of you wingsuiting. Let's take a look at this thing here. This is.
Edward St. Aubyn
My lucky number.
Jimmy Fallon
Look at that. Dude, that doesn't look real.
Edward St. Aubyn
I know. I can't believe that's me.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, Biggie.
Edward St. Aubyn
Biggie's out.
Jimmy Fallon
Biggie doesn't approve.
Edward St. Aubyn
Yeah, he's out.
Jimmy Fallon
He gets scared. He gets scared when you do that.
Edward St. Aubyn
He's got to sleep, right?
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. But Biggie, we're going to talk about his movie now. Deep cover. Okay. Now you can come back out. Let's Talk about your. Let's talk about your new movie.
Edward St. Aubyn
Yeah, please.
Jimmy Fallon
Deep cover. I think it's a brilliant idea. By the way, it's about time you did a comedy.
Edward St. Aubyn
Thanks.
Jimmy Fallon
Even though it's an action. It's an action comedy. It's an action comedy, but you're funny.
Edward St. Aubyn
Oh, thank you.
Jimmy Fallon
And it's a brilliant premise too.
Edward St. Aubyn
Thanks.
Antonia Gentry
It's a great premise.
Edward St. Aubyn
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Where did you get the inspiration for your character? Because he's a method actor.
Edward St. Aubyn
Well, the greatest thing is seeing any actor take themselves too seriously. Something I've never been guilty of, by the way.
Jimmy Fallon
No.
Edward St. Aubyn
It'S just low hanging fruit. But it's fantastic. And so. So the premise is my guy is an out of work actor and he's so desperate for his moment. And basically like Sean Bean's character comes in and says, we're gonna. We're doing low sting operations. We want the Met police in the uk. We're gonna do low grade sting operations and we're gonna just use improvise, improvisation artists.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Edward St. Aubyn
So myself, Bryce, Dallas Howard and Nick Muhammad from Norman.
Jimmy Fallon
Bryce, Dallas Howard, Bryce. I mean, I know Nick from Ted Lasso, right?
Edward St. Aubyn
That's right. Nick's from Ted Lasso and Bryce is just everything.
Jimmy Fallon
She's fantastic. I love her. Big fan.
Edward St. Aubyn
She's a wonderful.
Jimmy Fallon
But so your character takes it too seriously and he. Method. Yeah, goes into this character. He takes himself so seriously, he goes deep method. It's so ridiculous.
Edward St. Aubyn
It's really funny. And cuts his hair and then turns into basically Liam Gallagher. Cause the script was written, I was like, I grew up with Oasis and I went to Nebworth was one of my favorite concerts. And basically Liam is like the swag bag of the. Of the band, you know, so the physicality was there for me, the accent was there for me. And even the costume. Like, I wear this like green kind of parker coat and military. Ex. Military. And it's like. And we just had the best time because basically what happens is because we take ourselves too seriously. What turns out, like trying to nab a low grade sting like some cigarettes that they're selling under the counter.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Edward St. Aubyn
I escalate it into like drugs and we want more. And we suddenly taken to. We're taken to the drug lord, the pink, the kingpin. And we're like chasing through London. Ian McShane is the king of kings. You know Paddy Constantin, who's amazing. You know Sean Bean, who. Of course I did. Lord of the Ring. I mean, Sean Bean.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Edward St. Aubyn
Me and Sean, I mean, I saw him dead in front. In front of me.
Jimmy Fallon
It was Lord of the Rings reunion. No, sorry.
Edward St. Aubyn
No, no, he doesn't die.
Jimmy Fallon
But. And the action is good too, but it's kind of. It's everything. You said that. You should go see it with a group of friends.
Edward St. Aubyn
You need to see this with a group of friends because, honestly, laughter is contagious, I think.
Jimmy Fallon
You know, it's really funny.
Edward St. Aubyn
Take a have a pizza night. Pardon the pun. Cause you'll see in the movie, I'm a pizza night on top of other people.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, of course.
Edward St. Aubyn
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
So have a pizza night and watch Deep cover. It's so good. Orlando Bloom, everybody. Deep cover is available on Prime Video this Thursday. More Tonight show after the break. Thank you, Biggie Smoke. Our next guest is a talented actress who stars in the number one Netflix series, Ginny and Georgia. Season three is streaming now. Everyone, please welcome Antonia Gentrif. Welcome back, Antonia. It's great to have you here. Welcome back to the show. Number one show on Netflix. Not too shabby.
Yakov Smirnoff
It's wild. I don't understand it whatsoever, but I'm just here for the ride. It's amazing.
Jimmy Fallon
We're so happy to have you back. I'm happy you're here.
Yakov Smirnoff
Did you notice I hugged you when I came in?
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Yakov Smirnoff
Yeah. The last time I didn't. Brie did. I was so nervous. I just shook your hand and I walked by and Bree and I was like, oh, my God. He probably thinks I'm so rude. And so for two years, it's kept me up at night.
Orlando Bloom
Oh, my God.
Yakov Smirnoff
It really has.
Jimmy Fallon
But I didn't know. My God. You can hug me, shake my hand, whatever. I'm a big fan. Always. I'm a big hugger. Yeah. I love you. Please, please, always welcome. We have to talk about this because this show's number one on Netflix. You just went to this giant event. Is it called the tudum ta doom? Ta doom.
Yakov Smirnoff
They'll yell at you if you say tudum.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, is that right? So it's tudum ta doom Tudum. I know that. Yeah. But I. In my head, I'm New York. Ta dum, ta dum tudum. So you're at the Tudum festival and you got to meet some people that you love. You said 14 year old me is screaming.
Yakov Smirnoff
I did. Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
Here's you and Top. Park Sang Woo from Squid Game. Now Top. I know you're a big fan of Top.
Yakov Smirnoff
Huge fan. He's like one of the biggest rappers in Asia. And me and my mom So, I mean, it was just a long day. My feet were swollen. I was sitting down in the green room after doing the carpet and sweating a lot, and I had ice out. My dogs were out. I was icing my dogs.
Jimmy Fallon
Okay.
Yakov Smirnoff
Top walks by, and Felix is sitting. My co star, Felix is sitting next to me. And he's like, well, I'm Felix. Blah, blah, blah, blah. And then he goes, is it the guy? And I'm like, is that the guy? Is that the guy?
Jimmy Fallon
That guy? That's my guy. That's the guy.
Yakov Smirnoff
That's my guy. So I freak out. I'm like, getting up. I don't have shoes on. I'm running around. I'm like, I have to meet him. I have to meet him. I have to meet him. My publicist is like, okay, we're going you to meet him. I was like, okay.
Jimmy Fallon
Can you walk? Are your feet numb?
Yakov Smirnoff
I can't. I'm limping. And she's like, you don't have shoes on. And I'm like, I don't have shoes on.
Jimmy Fallon
You're like, top man, what's up?
Yakov Smirnoff
And then I go, exactly. That's perfect. That's exactly what I did. And then I tried to put my shoes back on, but I buckled them together and I tripped over that. I'm literally a Looney Tunes character at this point. I'm, like, knocking things over, tripping over myself. But then I finally get to meet him, and I'm literally shaking, like, sobbing on the inside.
Jimmy Fallon
What did you say to him?
Yakov Smirnoff
I was very cool. I was like, top, nice to meet you. I've been a fan since I was 14 years old. My mother loves you. I love you, and thank you so much. And he was just so kind. I was cheesing. I called my mom later, and we were both screaming and fangirling. And, yeah, I got to.
Jimmy Fallon
How's your mom doing, by the way?
Yakov Smirnoff
She's great.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. I love your mom. Is this true? I read this somewhere that your mom created a bunch of fake Instagram accounts so that she can yell back at haters.
Yakov Smirnoff
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, that's. Thank you, Mom. Thank you, mom.
Yakov Smirnoff
I know.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Thank you, mom.
Yakov Smirnoff
Yeah, she.
Jimmy Fallon
That's what moms do. That's right. They show up. Don't you dare hate on my daughter. Are you kidding me?
Yakov Smirnoff
It's wild. She has, like, 15 inc. She calls them her incognito accounts. And I'm like, you don't have to make, like, 15 different email addresses. You know that, right?
Jimmy Fallon
No, but she does anyway.
Yakov Smirnoff
She does. She's in there. She's like, ginny in Georgia is the best, and here's why.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Yakov Smirnoff
And it's great.
Jimmy Fallon
Has she seen Ginny and George's season three yet?
Yakov Smirnoff
Yeah. She accounts for, like, 50% of the total viewership, I think.
Jimmy Fallon
I mean, she pushed it to number one.
Yakov Smirnoff
It's on Reeves.
Jimmy Fallon
She made it number one. Just from your mama.
Yakov Smirnoff
Yeah, it was just her. Tell her.
Jimmy Fallon
Has she visited the set yet?
Yakov Smirnoff
No, she hasn't, but she's gonna come up in season four, and I'm kind of nervous because she has a lot of ideas that she wants to pitch.
Orlando Bloom
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
And I love it already. I mean, I think. Yeah, I think. Listen to them. Have her write season four, I think.
Yakov Smirnoff
Yeah, totally. Writer's room, she's in.
Jimmy Fallon
Mom, I got your back. Yeah, I love it. Yeah. I want those accounts to like me as well. I want to show. Brianne Howey was on our show the other day, and she had a baby since the last time she was on. Little Siggy.
Yakov Smirnoff
I know. Siggy.
Jimmy Fallon
So cutest little baby. She's so cute. Look, here's you. Is this you meeting Siggy for the first time?
Yakov Smirnoff
Yeah, she. I know, right?
Jimmy Fallon
That's a cute baby.
Yakov Smirnoff
She brought Siggy to set, and I was so excited because we don't live in the same city. It was just, like, hard for our schedules to match. I hadn't met her yet, and that was the first time I met her. And I was just. She's the cutest little being. I mean, she lights up her room. She's never crying. She's always smiling and waving, and it was just so wonderful to meet her. And I guess I, like, did have, like, an awkward moment with Bri's husband because apparently I was petting Siggy like a cat, like one of my cats. And he was like, have you never held a baby before in your life? Have you never seen a baby before? Why are you petting her like a cat?
Jimmy Fallon
I'm sorry. I can't help myself.
Yakov Smirnoff
I'm sorry. Like, you had a baby between seasons. I adopted a cat. Like, I don't.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, that's all, you know. Don't judge me. Yeah.
Yakov Smirnoff
I love her, though.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, it's so good. How do we set up what's happening this season on Ginny and Georgia? It's a good one. It's a great one.
Yakov Smirnoff
Oh, my gosh. I know. This is our wildest season yet. So season three takes place right after the events of season two, where Georgia is arrested at her wedding for murder. Season three There is a massive trip. We see the trial of our lifetimes with these characters as they face love, lies and murders in ways we've never seen them before. And I will say no one is the same by the end of the season. You are in for a treat.
Jimmy Fallon
Antonia Gentry, everybody. Season three of Ginny and Georgia is streaming now on Netflix. We'll be right back with more Tonight Show. Come on back. I'm for the band Sam is on trombone Blowing hot back to back don't get with it Take out your coat Let it let the beat compelled Just think while it's all Cause I ain't one I believe rappers just like. Our next guest is a best selling award winning author whose new book Parallel Lines is available right now. Please welcome Edward St. Aubin. Now you gotta come back all the time. It is so nice to see you. Thank you for coming on the show. I wanted to get to the book and talk about Parallel Lines, but first I thought it'd be funny to kind of tell everyone how we met. We met at a birthday party.
Antonia Gentry
That's right. I was gonna have dinner with Diane Sawyer and she said, I've been asked to surprise birthday party. And she was so cool. She didn't tell me whose it was until we were just out. And I said, whose party is it? And it was Lorne Michaels. 80th. Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
You were at Lorne's 80th birthday party and you sat next to me and was I a good dinner date?
Orlando Bloom
Fabulous, thank you.
Jimmy Fallon
All right, good. We hit it off when we were just talking and you said that you have a new novel coming out. And I go, when is it coming out? I go, you should come on the show. We should talk about it.
Antonia Gentry
That's right.
Jimmy Fallon
And then I got into you and I deep dove, I got. You're fantastic. You're an unbelievable author. And I want to talk about your new book, Parallel Lines. But Patrick Melrose is phenomenal. That's a big popular series that you did. Benedict Cumberbatch turned it into a series. And I read somewhere that he was into it before he even made it.
Antonia Gentry
That's right, he'd read it. And he tweeted that the two parts he most wanted to play were Hamlet, which people had heard of.
Jimmy Fallon
I mean, yeah, people had. People have played Hamlet before.
Antonia Gentry
Marianne, Patrick Melrose. And there was a flurry of confusion. And then Suddenly, suddenly, 106 production companies rang the next day. They'd find out, yeah, oh my God. Who Patrick Mellon was.
Jimmy Fallon
And he nailed it because he's unbelievable.
Antonia Gentry
And he did a brilliant performance.
Jimmy Fallon
But now he does the audiobooks for your.
Antonia Gentry
We Became Friends. And out of kindness and loyalty, he reads. And I saw him last week reading Parallel Lines.
Jimmy Fallon
Would you ever do one of your audiobooks? You have a great, soothing voice.
Antonia Gentry
A soothing voice, Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
I think you should be on, like, Headspace or the Cal Map or something. Yeah. Very soothing. Yeah.
Antonia Gentry
I do use audiobooks to put me to sleep, so perhaps I should, on that basis, I should offer myself.
Jimmy Fallon
Think about it. Yeah. Well, this is Peril. This is your 11th novel, by the way. Oh, my goodness. And by the way, some great blurbs for you on the back here. Tartt from Goldfinch. You got Jonathan Franzen, the Corrections. You have Zadie Smith. I mean, these are great people praising you and this book, when you get to writing a book. Because I write books like this. Yeah. And it's. Look at how different our books are. You see, Yours is a real book.
Antonia Gentry
But I'm gonna go into your line of books.
Jimmy Fallon
Mine's much easier. But. But how do you get into this? And can you start at, like, chapter five and then go backwards and then go to.
Antonia Gentry
No, I'm like an anteater. I just. Not like an eagle. I just go straight forward from chapter one to. And then I write the end. At the end.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Really, you got.
Antonia Gentry
All the time. I'm very, very literal about it because I only know what I want to say as I write it. I make it up as I go along. Maybe it already exists in my imagination and gets downloaded when I'm inspired.
Jimmy Fallon
And then you hand write these.
Antonia Gentry
I hand write them because there are things you can do with handwriting, like crossing a word out and putting another one in and another one above that. And you have the arch. It's like a cliff face. You have the archaeology of all your thinking. And sometimes the third one was the best, or the first one was the best.
Jimmy Fallon
If you have a laptop or a.
Antonia Gentry
Computer, what you delete, you know, and put something else in, and it's gone. And you don't know, and you don't realize that number six was the right one.
Jimmy Fallon
I'm gonna start handwriting my novels from now on.
Orlando Bloom
Yeah.
Antonia Gentry
Another function is circling and an arrow moving a phrase, you see, but only provisionally, without cutting and pasting.
Jimmy Fallon
I will do that. Can we describe what is parallel line about? How do we set this up?
Antonia Gentry
It's. It's about twins who are separated at birth, and then they meet again in their 40s after having very, very different lives, but still have a bond in Common. One of which is having shared the same womb. And I suppose, you know, it's asking the question metaphorically of whether all these things, we divide mind and body and human and animal, and so whether they need to be divided. And we live in such a divided society. We're so at war with each other and within ourselves, you know, what is the common ground? And that's the metaphoric engine behind this book.
Jimmy Fallon
That's fantastic. And I also say you dedicated the book. You could zoom in here. It says for M. And I was thinking about maybe revealing who M is. It would be a big deal for.
Antonia Gentry
Everyone to find out M is the head of the Secret Services.
Jimmy Fallon
James Bond. No. Yeah, it is, but. No, but that's not this.
Antonia Gentry
Oh, the other M. Yes, yes, it's Mick Jagger.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, yeah, it is Mick.
Antonia Gentry
Our mutual friend. Yeah, it is our mutual friend.
Jimmy Fallon
And have you talked to Mick?
Antonia Gentry
Does he. And I haven't told anybody until now. Jimmy, this is your school.
Jimmy Fallon
Thank you for saving us.
Antonia Gentry
I say because we talk.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Antonia Gentry
You know, you talked about him that evening at dinner.
Jimmy Fallon
I love him.
Antonia Gentry
And I love him too. And we had that bond in common, but I've kept it completely secret.
Jimmy Fallon
But he let you write like he had you as a guest at his place. And you wrote a lot of this book there.
Antonia Gentry
That's why I dedicated it to him, because he lent me his house for a month and I had a cook and I was looked after by Laurent. The fire is crackling and you know, it was just perfect. And I made a great leap forward. And with the book.
Jimmy Fallon
Did you ask him if we could talk about this?
Antonia Gentry
I did. I felt it was only polite because I'd gone on and on about how I wasn't going to tell anyone. Yeah, I might as well wait until there are millions of views.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, exactly.
Antonia Gentry
I didn't want to tell just one journalist.
Jimmy Fallon
Do you ever think of having Mick do the audiobook for your book?
Antonia Gentry
Well, I've got Benedict. I mean, I can give you a taste.
Jimmy Fallon
I can give you.
Antonia Gentry
Give me an idea of what would sound like. Well, how would that sound if time.
Jimmy Fallon
Was taken tomorrow and tomorrow a bit better ball. It would start out in a huge giant feet five foam. Foam feet five foam foam. 24 hour strides end up being teeny weeny tippy toe setting a little step. I'd rather any minute any little step will get smaller and smaller and tomorrow load.
Antonia Gentry
Oh, it's like being in the same room.
Jimmy Fallon

Orlando Bloom
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Jimmy Fallon
Hi.
Orlando Bloom
Hi. My name is Jakob Smirnau. As you know, I'm originally from Russia. Thank you very much. But I'm an American now. Yeah, it is great to be an American. Only in America can pizza get to your house faster than the ambulance can. Only in America. Lemonade is made with artificial flavoring and dish soap made with real lemons. Only in America. You walk into a bank and you see a vault door open and they chain down a pen. Only in America. Every football game starts with them flipping a quarter, and then for the rest of the game, the whole crowd screams, get the quarter back. Only in America would the word politics describe the process so well, Poly in Latin means many and ticks means blood sucking parasite. A little bit about myself. I grew up in the Soviet Union. Very humble beginnings. My parents and I lived in a communal apartment. Nine families lived in one apartment. My mom, my dad, and I shared the bedroom Till I was 26 years old. And it wasn't because I was a millennial. Everybody lived like that. So when I was a little kid, my parents wanted to be romantic. They would send me to look out the window, and then my dad would say, so what do you see in the window? I said, our neighbor's being romantic. He said, how can you tell? I said, because their son is looking at. I was the only child because we had only one window, and I live with funny people. I remember as I was getting older, I asked my mom, where do people come from? And she said, well, there was Adam and Eve, and they had a baby, and people multiplied. And then I go to my dad and I said, where do people come from? He said, said, well, they were monkeys. Monkeys evolved. That's how we got people. And that evening, we're having dinner, and I said, mom, how come you say there was Adam and Eve? And dad says that there were monkeys? And my mom said, I was talking about my side of the family. Your dad is still a hairy ape. And my dad would laugh. And even if they were arguing about something, you know, my dad had a great sense of humor. He knew what to do. One time she talked to him. He walked into a bedroom. He had this tray in his hand. On the tray, there's a tall glass of water, small bottle of aspirin. And my mom saw it and said, what are you doing? I don't have a headache. My dad said, that's all I wanted to hear. Jakob, go look out the window. So when we came to America, I married an American woman, and we had two wonderful kids, Natasha and Alexander. Took us a while to figure out their names, because when our daughter was born, my wife wanted a real American name for her. Brandy. And I said, Brandy Smirnoff. Why don't we just send her to rehab daycare center so she can play with Jim Beam and Johnnie Walker. And when we have a son, let's call him Kahlua. Kahlua Smirnoff. So when we get together, we're gonna have a White Russian. I was. I was ordering a birthday cake for my wife, and I called the baker and I said, can you make a cake for about 12 people? And said, what do you want to put on it? I said, well, just put. Happy birthday, Olivia. And she said, well, it's a pretty big size cake. Is there anything else you want to add to it? I said, well, I. You know what? I didn't think about this. But let's see. Let's. Let's say.
Jimmy Fallon
Say.
Orlando Bloom
Let's say you're not getting older on the top and then say you're just getting better in the bottom. And I come home, my wife is laughing. She's going, I can't serve this cake. I'm reading. And the baker did exactly what I said. She said, happy birthday, Olivia. You're not getting older on the top. You're just getting better on the bottom. We did not serve that cake, but we were laughing and makes me realize, because we're happy. And this is something that I came to America for, because in America, every citizen has inalienable right to life, liberty, and what? And free online shipping. But it's the pursuit of happiness that. That makes this country so unique. And I made the right choice because I could have gone to other country. Let's say you go to Italy, you cannot become Italian, and you can go to France, cannot become a Frenchman, but you can come to America and become an American. And I want to thank you for making me feel at home. God bless you. I'm Jakob Sma. Good night.
Jimmy Fallon
Are you kidding me? That's what I'm talking about. Thank you so much. Yakov Smirnoff. See him in Branson. Missouri at the Yakov Theater. We'll be right back, everybody. Come on back. If I'm body rocking doing it, dude, I am the living definition of improving. The crew use the same tools to shoot the Cuban recruitment. My thanks to Orlando Bloom, Antonia Gentry, Edward St. Albans, Coco Doc, Jakob Smirov once again and the Roots from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Good night, everybody.
