Jimmy Fallon
Jim.
Announcer
And now, here he is, Jimmy Sa.
Jared Leto
Thank you.
Jimmy Fallon
Welcome, welcome. Welcome to the Tonight Show.
Announcer/Host Assistant
This is it.
Jimmy Fallon
You're here.
Announcer/Host Assistant
This is the show.
Jimmy Fallon
Well, guys, we're now on day eight of the government shutdown, and there's still no end in sight. Yeah. If you want to know how long eight days is, just think eight days ago, we had no idea what kind of tree Travis Kelce was like. You know, we had no. We had no idea. Meanwhile, since TSA agents aren't getting paid during the shutdown, I read that hundreds of them have been calling in sick.
Jared Leto
Yep.
Jimmy Fallon
Passengers are like, wait, then who just felt me up at the airport? How you doing? How's it going? Come on. Yeah, you can go. Get on.
Jared Leto
You can get on.
Jimmy Fallon
You can get on. How about you? Who's next? Yep. Hundreds of TSA agents are calling in sick while the rest are working from home.
Paige DeSorbo
Over Zoom.
Jimmy Fallon
Okay, do you have any liquids?
Announcer/Host Assistant
Do you have any liquids?
Jimmy Fallon
Close whatever you're on and put it in the tray. Okay. You guys see this? President Trump called Bad Bunny a ridiculous choice for the super bowl halftime show, but also admitted that he's never heard of him. But I guess he's trying to get familiar with Bad Bunny's music because he just started learning Spanish. Oh, now check out how he's doing it.
Duolingo Trump Edition Voice
Do you want to learn Spanish? Then you need duolingo trump edicion. It's easy. Repeat after me. Bibliote.
Announcer/Host Assistant
Billy Ray Cyrus restaurante.
Duolingo Trump Edition Voice
Muchos gracias.
Jimmy Fallon
McDonald's, asoluego. Well, let's see how we say that.
Duolingo Trump Edition Voice
Necesito melania.
Jared Leto
Mosquito, Malaria.
Duolingo Trump Edition Voice
Duolingo, trump edicion.
Jimmy Fallon
Adios, amigo. Is that right? There you go. That's not bad. Not right. That's not bad. Switching gears, Amazon is adding vending machines stocked with prescription drugs to their medical clinics. So now you can touch the buttons knowing that someone very sick touched them. Right. Before you forget vending machines, they should make it more fun and have prescription drug claw machines.
Announcer/Host Assistant
Come on, Xanax. Come on, Xanax. Come on, Xanax.
Jimmy Fallon
Ah, Lipitor again. Give me another five bucks. I'll get this out. Well, listen to this. Today, Domino's Pizza unveiled new uniforms and a new logo.
Paige DeSorbo
Ooh.
Jimmy Fallon
I'm not exactly sure why brands do this. Who's like I was gonna order Papa John's, but have you seen the Domino's uniform? Can we see the new Domino's uniform, please? Ooh. Uh. Oh. Oh, it can't get worse. Oh, it did. It could get worse. It could get worse. All right. It can get worse. Well, some TV news last night. There was a new episode of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, and it got. It got pretty heated. There was a lot of drama between Lisa and Angie. Now, if you missed it, don't worry, because here to reenact that scene with actual lines from the show are the roots of his own Tariq and Quest Love.
Questlove
Thanks, Jimmy. Tonight I'll be playing the role of Lisa, an event planner, and to kill a company owner who's confronting Angie about lying about her franchises.
Paige DeSorbo
And I'll be playing Angie, a hair salon owner who's being confronted by Lisa about lying about her franchises.
Jimmy Fallon
Okay, all right. Lying about franchises. Whenever you're ready. Go for it.
Questlove
You said the nastiest thing about me. But you only own one and a half of Lunatic Fringe Hair Salon.
Paige DeSorbo
Who told you I own one and a half? That's not true.
Announcer/Host Assistant
The rest are franchise.
Questlove
They're franchise.
Paige DeSorbo
I have three salons that I own, and the rest are franchises. It's a model I'm proud of.
Jimmy Fallon
Don't be proud.
Questlove
Be honest about what you own. You're always like, I own 10 salons, you own one and a half.
Paige DeSorbo
I didn't know that I needed to specify.
Jimmy Fallon
Okay.
Questlove
Hello, everyone.
Paige DeSorbo
My name is Angie K. And I own seven salons.
Announcer/Host Assistant
One and a half. There's one and a half.
Paige DeSorbo
There's no one and a half. You lie and you turn out there and you tried to insult me.
Announcer/Host Assistant
I didn't lie.
Questlove
I didn't do it to insult you. You took it as an insult.
Paige DeSorbo
You don't know the facts about my business. You do French fries.
Jimmy Fallon
I do. Franchise, you are a very jealous human being.
Paige DeSorbo
Uh, no, bitch, you are.
Announcer/Host Assistant
Oh, my God.
Announcer
Wow.
Announcer/Host Assistant
Oh, my God. That one might be the.
Jimmy Fallon
That one's the one.
Announcer/Host Assistant
That's the one right there.
Paige DeSorbo
That's the one.
Jimmy Fallon
Thank you very much, Quest.
Jared Leto
Intriguingly.
Announcer
Wow.
Paige DeSorbo
That was great.
Jimmy Fallon
Some more entertainment news. I saw that Netflix is turning the board game Clue into a reality competition series. Ooh. Of course. Clue is a board game where someone is murdered at the beginning, as opposed to Monopoly, where you want to murder someone at the end. All right, we've been playing for four hours. Let's go. How did I land on Baltic again?
Announcer/Host Assistant
All right, let's Just end it.
Jimmy Fallon
Just take all my money. Finally, I heard that police in Florida stopped an alligator that was trying to get into a tiki bar. It took a while to notice the alligator because it looked like every other person at a Florida tiki bar.
Announcer/Host Assistant
We have a great job. Give it up for the Roots.
The Roots (Musical Performance)
Everybody clap your hands. Your hands are clap. If I ask, do you feel it? Better answer back. See me with a big boy burdening Cadillac bird.
Announcer
Come on.
Announcer/Host Assistant
Thank you very much. What a show we have for you tonight.
Jimmy Fallon
He is an Oscar winner who stars in and produced the new movie Ares, which hits theaters and imax. Yeah. This Friday, Jared Leto is here. She co hosts the popular podcast Giggly Squad. She also just released the fall collection of her loungewear line Daphne, which is available now.
Announcer/Host Assistant
Paige desorbo is here. You come back. We're talking to Jared Leto. Come on back here.
The Roots (Musical Performance)
This is just a conversation. Yeah. Back with a special presentation.
Announcer/Host Assistant
Our first guest is an Oscar winning.
Jimmy Fallon
Actor who stars in and produced the new movie Tron Ares, which hits theaters and IMAX this Friday. Please welcome Jared Leto.
Announcer/Host Assistant
Oh, Jared.
Jimmy Fallon
One of our favorite guests. I love. I love you. We pinky pounded it.
Jared Leto
We did.
Jimmy Fallon
We did. We had to pinky pound it out. Come on. We brought it back. But welcome back to the building.
Jared Leto
Thank you so much.
Jimmy Fallon
Last time you were here, I don't know if you remember this, you climbed the Empire State Building before you came on our show.
Jared Leto
I totally forgot about that.
Jimmy Fallon
This is real. How would you ever forget about this is real?
Jared Leto
Yeah, that was pretty incredible. That was the launch of our tour. It was really just a fun gag to do. And then I came over here. Actually. You saw me from afar.
Jimmy Fallon
I remember. Yes, the building.
Jared Leto
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
I don't know how we did that, but we timed it out.
Jared Leto
Yeah, we did.
Jimmy Fallon
Where we had a zoom lens from our building and we saw you.
Jared Leto
A very loving gaze that we gave each other.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes. You looked at me and I looked at you and I was like. We were singing.
Jared Leto
I was hanging off the side of.
Jimmy Fallon
The building, like legit.
Jared Leto
You?
Jimmy Fallon
Well, no. Do you remember you had like a cut to your head.
Jared Leto
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
From climbing the Empire State Building. Yeah.
Jared Leto
It was pretty cool.
Jimmy Fallon
It's the coolest thing ever.
Jared Leto
As much of it as you can climb. It was actually right there. There's the building back there.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, yeah, it is. Oh, there it is. There it is too. Oh, there it is. Yeah, we have it. I think I see. I think I see you. Oh, yeah, you see you there.
Jared Leto
Yeah, that's right.
Jimmy Fallon
And then here's me over here. Yeah, No, I was waving at you, but that was actually. I love what you do. And by the way, the tour. Congrats on this tour.
Jared Leto
Thanks so much.
Jimmy Fallon
It was unbelievable. I was following on Instagram, 92 shows, 89 cities, 5 continents.
Jared Leto
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Congratulations.
Jared Leto
Thanks so much. And we survived, and we're done. And now we're in Tron mode. And we just did, like, a tour around the world to promote this film. And this is the very last, the last, but maybe the best stop. Come on, bud.
Jimmy Fallon
That's why we're here. We love you. That's why.
Jared Leto
Thank you.
Jimmy Fallon
Thank you for remembering us.
Jared Leto
Thank you.
Jimmy Fallon
I want to talk Tron, but first, I want to go back to your band just for a second here, because when I go see you, you get to see stuff like this. You pull out a flamethrower, and that's just for fun.
Jared Leto
Yeah. You ever see that meme? It's like Good ways to die or what is it? Something like that.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, yeah.
Jared Leto
Yeah, that's probably it right there.
Jimmy Fallon
A flamethrower. Yeah. You pull out a flamethrower and the tour, which I love. Then you also zipline onto the stage, which I remember. I want to say this started in Brazil, if I recall, because you came on our show.
Jared Leto
Yeah, yeah, that's exactly right. God's biggest memory.
Jimmy Fallon
The biggest crowd I think you performed in.
Jared Leto
Yeah, I was at Greta. It was like 100 and something. Thousand people in Brazil. And it was. That's crazy.
Jimmy Fallon
It's all crazy.
Jared Leto
It was amazing. Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
But you do flamethrower. You zip line into your crowd, and then you also FaceTime your mom.
Jared Leto
Oh, yeah. Which is, I think, the coolest gag you could do. That's probably the coolest thing at this show is FaceTime with your mom. And that was in Poland. And I remember that moment because I asked her, have you ever. Mom, have you ever tried any Polish food? A pierogi, maybe? And she said no. And then the audience booed her very loudly. She's still recovering.
Jimmy Fallon
That's so funny. Oh, my God. Mom, we're gonna send you some pierogies. We'll get you some pierogis. That's the greatest. But let's talk about Tron Aries. I'm so excited. Yeah, everyone's excited about this one. Thank you. The movie's giant. I would see it in theaters, but I would see it in IMAX if you could, because it is just visually stunning. And the sound is great. The soundtrack is Nine Inch Nails.
Jared Leto
Yeah.
Announcer/Host Assistant
What are we talking about?
Jared Leto
I mean, the last film. I don't know if anybody saw the last film, but it has this infamous soundtrack by Daft Punk, so we knew that there only. I mean, I don't know who could fill those shoes, but Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, and Nine Inch Nails certainly did. They made incredible music.
Jimmy Fallon
Incredible. It's unbelievable. I mean, wow. This. You were telling me this has been 10 years in the making.
Jared Leto
Yeah, yeah, 10 years. There was a script floating around, and they asked me to kind of be the baddie and the previous. Like a sequel to the previous version, Tron Legacy. And it wasn't the right thing for me at the time, but there was a character in there I really loved called Ares. And I said to them, you know, if you don't end up making this, let me know. I'd love to develop it. And that was about nine years ago. So it started with a word, and now it's a movie in theaters, and we're super excited about it.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, it's amazing. Were you a fan? Were you alive to the original?
Jared Leto
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
You're a young man.
Jared Leto
We all know I'm about 153 years old.
Jimmy Fallon
But you're atheist.
Jared Leto
What are you talking about? But no, I did. I went to go see the very first Tron in the theater in 1982. Yeah. Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
And the legend.
Jared Leto
I mean, you know, I didn't know what to expect. I was just going to see this. This movie. I didn't know much about it, but it was the very first film to use cg. And it took me to a world that I never imagined, and it blew me away. I love the video game. I love Jeff. The video game.
Jimmy Fallon
I love.
Jared Leto
The video game was great.
Jimmy Fallon
I absolutely loved it.
Jared Leto
So I fell in love. And for me, Tron is like Star Wars. It's a world I'm happy to be a part of. And I got a chance to work with one of my heroes, Jeff Bridges.
Jimmy Fallon
I mean. I mean, he's back. Yeah. So he's back from the original trial. What was it like working with Jeff Bridges?
Jared Leto
Oh, it's just insane.
Jimmy Fallon
He's the greatest. Yeah.
Jared Leto
I remember the first day on set, they yelled, action. And I had my first scene with Jeff. First of all, he walks on the set, everybody applauds.
Jimmy Fallon
It's like, why not?
Jared Leto
Yeah. It's like, Mick Jagger's on stage is incredible. And so anyway, they yell, action. And I had to yell cut. And they came over and they're like, what's wrong? Cause it was pretty unlike me. And I was like, I just can't stop smiling. I need a moment.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Jared Leto
So it was pretty cool. And he's the best. I mean, he's just the nicest, the most generous, fun, funny person to work with.
Jimmy Fallon
He's the dude. Here you are as Ares. How do we explain what's happened?
Jared Leto
Thank you for that. I heard that one person. Appreciate it.
Jimmy Fallon
No, you got so many woos. You've been getting woos.
Jared Leto
That's my mom.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, there she goes.
Announcer/Host Assistant
She just ate her first pierogi.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, my God.
Announcer/Host Assistant
Congratulations.
Jimmy Fallon
It's delicious, right?
Announcer/Host Assistant
It's potato, but it's pasta.
Jimmy Fallon
It's great. But let's talk about this. Look at this. This is Aries right here.
Jared Leto
Yes, Aries.
Announcer/Host Assistant
Ow.
Jimmy Fallon
Now, what is happening in this movie? And who is your character? How do we explain this?
Jared Leto
Well, this time, you know, usually Tron is about going from the real world into the grid, into this digital universe. But this time we flipped it. And the digital world, the grid, as we call it, comes to the real world. So you have light cycles tearing down the streets. You have all of these incredible programs and things from the digital world that are in the real world. So that's kind of the fun part about this film.
Jimmy Fallon
It's so fun. It's going to be a giant thing. I'm so excited about this. Thank you.
Announcer/Host Assistant
Tor Leto, everybody. Tron Aries hits theaters and IMAX this Friday. Go check it out this weekend.
Paige DeSorbo
Stick around.
Announcer/Host Assistant
Oh, you know our next guest.
Jimmy Fallon
As a co host of the popular podcast Giggly Squad, she just released the fall collection of her loungewear line Daphne, which is available starting today. Please welcome Paige Tosorbo.
Announcer
Paige.
Jimmy Fallon
Paige, welcome back to the show. Thank you.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
Thank you for having me.
Jimmy Fallon
Thanks for coming back to see us. Last time you were a guest on the show, we all played a game. You and Hannah and me and Patrick Schwarzenegger. We played charades.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
And then I heard that you ran into Patrick Schwarzenegger.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
Okay, so I'm on vacation with my family. I'm in Italy.
Jimmy Fallon
Tell me.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
It was like we were at summer camp. We're in this big, like, circle pool, and I just see a guy swim by me. Patrick Schwarzenegger, Hello. And I go, hi. We played charades together. And like, he was like, oh, yeah, I think I recognize you.
Jimmy Fallon
That's what you open up with?
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
Yeah, that's how I opened. I wasn't like, hey, Patrick, nice to see you again. I was like, hi.
Announcer
We played charade.
Jimmy Fallon
And he's, like, doing laughs Next to you. Yeah. And then did you guys end up bonding and hanging out?
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
We talked a little. He was there for a wedding. He was with his gorgeous wife and they were having a great time, so. Yeah, it was nice to see him.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
But that's how we're bonded.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Now you're buds forever. Yeah.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
We both beat Jimmy Fallon at charades, you know, like.
Announcer
We'Re friends.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
I can say that.
Jimmy Fallon
Well, it was nice seeing you, Paige and Sorba, everybody. We're good to see you. Fantastic. Thank you so much. Be right back. No, I'm just kidding. No, we have to talk about a lot of things that are happening.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
Yeah, we have a lot.
Jimmy Fallon
Because you have so much going on. First of all, you're a best selling author now.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
Congratulations. Thank you. Thank you, Paige. I'm excited for you.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
Thank you.
Jimmy Fallon
Giggly Squad is one of the top podcasts in the country. And you launched your own loungewear.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
I did, yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Talk to me about Daphne.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
Okay, so I launched Daphne. I named it after my cat, who. She's gorgeous. She has piercing blue eyes. And on our podcast, we had a cat psychic come out. Well, a pet psychic.
Jimmy Fallon
Okay.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
We don't do guests. We only do pet psychics for guests. And you don't know if she's telling the truth?
Jimmy Fallon
No.
Questlove
You never.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
So you never know.
Jimmy Fallon
So that's a little Daphne.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
And so she starts talking to me about Daphne, and the first thing she said was that I let a lot of people into my home and I let a lot of people say hi to her, and she would like if I would stop doing that.
Jimmy Fallon
That's not true. This is not real.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
Because a lot of people smell and Daphne is not a fan.
Jared Leto
What do you.
Jimmy Fallon
This is. So the psychic said that the cat said that she doesn't like to get introduced to.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
Too many people, pick me up, and they kind of smell and like, mom, please stop letting them do that.
Jimmy Fallon
That's ridiculous.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
Then the psychic goes, oh, she keeps making a motion. She keeps going like this, Bleh. I was like, perfect. And I was like, why? And she was like, well, she thinks that her cat carrier is cheap.
Announcer
It's cheap.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
It's tacky. She doesn't like the way that smells either. It's tacky.
Jimmy Fallon
The cat says that the thing is tacky.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
Yeah, that her carrier is tacky. I just want to let you know it's Louis Vuitton.
Jimmy Fallon
What?
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
Yeah. So she needs to chill out.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Sometimes it can get a little tacky. I don't know. I'm just so happy to See your success. And now you're about to launch your fall collection for Daphne Today.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
Today.
Jimmy Fallon
So thank you for coming on our show. Talk to me about some of the fall and why loungewear, by the way?
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
Ok. Loungewear. Because when I was on Summer House, everyone would call me a bed bug because I was always in the bed. Here's one thing about me. Don't insult me. Cause I'll start a business. And so I was like, that's funny.
Jimmy Fallon
I was like, don't tell me. I will start a business.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
I'll make money from it.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
So I started loungewear, but our number one product is our Hannah tee. After my co host, Hannah Burner.
Jimmy Fallon
We love Hannah Burner.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
We love her. And so it's just like your everyday T shirt. Like you can do a spray tan in it. You can get ready in it.
Jimmy Fallon
Now, why did Hannah get a T shirt?
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
So Hannah got a T shirt because during COVID Hannah wore the same T shirt every single day. And I actually started to get nervous and I was like, are you okay?
Jared Leto
Yeah.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
And so she was really my inspiration. I actually brought you one too. And I monogrammed yours.
Jimmy Fallon
You did?
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
Yes. So yours has your initials on it, so you can have a Hannah tee as well. Where's my Hannah T. Yeah, Navy blue.
Jimmy Fallon
I'm looking for the initials.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
Oh, right here on the side.
Announcer/Host Assistant
Oh, right.
Jimmy Fallon
Ooh, you got my middle name too.
Announcer
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Paige DeSorbo (Guest, Podcast Host)
We had to look that up.
Jimmy Fallon
That's right. Whoa.
Announcer/Host Assistant
That's what I'm talking about.
Jimmy Fallon
It's so cozy. I love it so much. Paige, congrats on all this stuff. Thank you. You're the best.
Announcer/Host Assistant
Congrats, Paige desorbo. The fall collection of Daphne is available now.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, this is tough, too.
Announcer
Stick around.
The Roots (Musical Performance)
Bouncing up out of the flames like a phoenix Straining the casual weight of my brain like a genius. So when sees. Let's see whose thumb is the greenest. If I said it, I. I beat it and did it because I needed.
Announcer/Host Assistant
My Phoenix. To Jared Levo, Paige and Sorbo.
Announcer
And.
Announcer/Host Assistant
The Roots right there from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Good night, everybody. Thank you.
Jimmy Fallon
