Enjoy yourself. Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Tonight Show.
You're here. Thank you, thank you for watching.
Well, guys, this weekend President Trump officially kicked off March Madness. What are we? The big story is that over the weekend Trump ordered a military strike against Iran. And if you were surprised to see the US attack Iran, don't worry. So was Congress. Yeah, in the attack, the US took out Iran's 86 year old supreme leader. Everyone was like, 86? What'd you do, throw him a surprise party? Could have just popped a balloon. And now nobody knows who's going to take over Iran. As of now, it seems like it's down to Paramount or Netflix.
I don't know.
We'll find out. The operation against Iran is called Epic Fury, which I'm pretty sure is a new Mountain Dew flavor, which is Epic Fury. Sounds like a Jackie Chan movie released directly to streaming. When did he make that? Meanwhile, Trump watched the operation play out from Mar A Lago in a secure area that was shielded with a curtain. Nothing says secure area like a curtain. Yeah. Trump was in a makeshift situation room at Mar A Lago and the photo is going viral. This is real. Take a look. There it is there. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's the first war to ever be started next to an omelet station. You know what I'm saying? Don't worry. Mar A Lago uses cybernetic multi tiered verification process where the password is password. But Trump had all his top officials there for the strike, like the chairman of the Joint Chiefs, the director of the CIA, and the MyPillow guy. Well, guys, the attack, the US attack on Iran is such a huge deal that Trump has actually agreed to, to join us right now for an interview about it. Thank you for joining us, Mr. President. This was a major decision. What was going through your mind when you made it?
Luke Thompson
Bing, bing, bong, bong, bing, bing, bing.
Jimmy Fallon
And now that you've started this whole situation, do you have a plan for what comes next?
Not even a little bit. Okay.
Okay. Well, so far you've hit nuclear facilities, missile defenses. What do you want to destroy the most?
The Epstein files.
Okay, I understand Yeah, I understand. I agree. No, Real quick. Did you get permission from Congress for the attack?
No. No, no, no, no.
Luke Thompson
Okay.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
And do you still think you deserve a Nobel Peace Prize?
Oh, yes, yes, yes.
Now, going forward, who do you want to put in charge of Iran?
Nicki Minaj.
I saw you ordered the attack from Mar A Lago. Where do you normally give your biggest orders? Burger King, Wendy's, and McDonald's. No, that's not what I. That's not what people are wondering. If you'll send in troops, would you say. What would you say if you ever had to go over there and fight for yourself?
Take me home, Mommy.
This is too tough for me. Okay. All right, now, last question. What kind of message does this send to countries like Saudi Arabia and Russia? Saudi Arabia and Russia will repeat your. Thank you very much for your time. Well, switching gears, I saw that since Paramount is buying Warner Bros. Hbo, Max and Paramount plus are going to become one streaming service. It's great. They'll have all the hit HBO shows with the Paramount logo. Some business news today. In an effort to boost iPhone sales, Apple announced a cheaper version of the iPhone 17. It's the exact same, except all of your emails end with sent on a budget.
Luke Thompson
Yeah,
Jimmy Fallon
it's just like your regular iPhone, except you only get access to the sad emojis. You can tell it's a cheap iPhone because on the back of it, it says Kirkland Brand. You're like, what?
Hey, what does that mean?
What do I need? Comes in a pack of 12. Get this. Southwest Airlines so that they're refining their new seating process amid complaints over boarding and bin space. Yep. They're going back to their old policy of every man, woman and child for themselves. Hey, I heard that a nudist camp in Florida is up for sale for $2.5 million. Ooh, yeah. A nudist camp in Florida. At first, people thought it was an alligator sanctuary.
We have a great show. Nicole Kidman is here. Nicole Kidman is. Luke Thompson is joining us. US Hockey gold medalist Jack Hughes, Quinn Hughes and Hillary Knight are here. Stick around. We'll be right back with Nicole Kidman. Come on. Our first guest is Oscar, an Emmy
winner who stars in an executive produces the new series Scarpetta. It premieres March 11th on Prime Video. Everyone please welcome Nicole Kidman.
Come on. You gotta feel the love. They love you.
Come on.
We love you. I love you.
Welcome back, Nicole Kidman. It's great to see you. Yes.
Nicole Kidman
Good to be here. Four years I haven't seen you.
Jimmy Fallon
You've been very busy.
Nicole Kidman
I'm so happy to be back.
Jimmy Fallon
Well, why.
But I want you to come back all the time. I want you to come back once a month. I love having you on.
Nicole Kidman
It's so good back there. Because they have the Olympic hockey team.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Everyone's here.
Nicole Kidman
Jack and Quinn and Hillary are back there. And I held a gold medal. Just.
Jimmy Fallon
Come on.
See, this happens all the time.
Nicole Kidman
Olympic gold. And I'm so thrilled for them.
Jimmy Fallon
This is a big show for all of us. I'm just happy. I wanted to know.
Nicole Kidman
Get through me so you can get them on the show.
Jimmy Fallon
No, Truly, No.
I want to ask you a thousand questions. You've told me that you've been on holiday recently.
Nicole Kidman
Yes. Because you said, oh, you work so much. And I'm like, holiday a lot, too.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Nicole Kidman
So I just got back from Antarctica.
Jimmy Fallon
Antarctica. Oh, my gosh, that's gorgeous.
Nicole Kidman
That's my girls, by the way. So.
Luke Thompson
Aw.
Nicole Kidman
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Come on.
Nicole Kidman
And that's. We've done seven continents.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, my God.
Luke Thompson
Really?
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Nicole Kidman
Yeah. What are the seven continents?
Jimmy Fallon
What?
Nicole Kidman
What are the seven continents?
Jimmy Fallon
Wait, why would you. You think that I wouldn't know?
Yeah, I think. Really?
I think I wouldn't know? Let's go the seven continents.
Jack Hughes
Come on.
Jimmy Fallon
Are there seven?
He doesn't know.
No. You got.
Nicole Kidman
He needs to go back to school.
Jimmy Fallon
What do you have? Seven? Well, you have Antarctica, obviously.
Nicole Kidman
Antarctica.
Jimmy Fallon
That's a great one. That's the one everyone talks about.
Hillary Knight
Yeah.
Nicole Kidman
You've only named one you got.
Jimmy Fallon
All right, you have Africa. You have Asia, North America, South America.
Nicole Kidman
Where am I from?
Jimmy Fallon
Australia.
Nicole Kidman
And bourgeois.
Jimmy Fallon
North. North. Australia.
Nicole Kidman
Where's Italy? Where's France?
Hillary Knight
Europe. Europe.
Jimmy Fallon
Europe. Europe.
Yeah.
Luke Thompson
Sorry.
Jimmy Fallon
I got six. No, you got six.
Nicole Kidman
You got one.
Jimmy Fallon
I got one. You held that there.
Nicole Kidman
North Americ.
Jimmy Fallon
I was gonna say Wakanda. I didn't know what we were talking.
Nicole Kidman
You failed geography.
Jimmy Fallon
What did you. I'm not good. I'm not good at. If I play trivia pursuit. I don't like the blue chips. No. What did you do there?
Nicole Kidman
So we saw penguins and I went on a cruise. I actually went on a cruise with lots of strangers, which I loved. Yeah. I am now the cruise. I love cruises. I've got two more planned.
Jimmy Fallon
Wait, what?
Don't you get, like, afraid that people are gonna bother you?
Nicole Kidman
No, I love meeting people, and I have my family with me, and. And I just love going on cruises. So I'm now the cruise.
Jimmy Fallon
Would I have been.
Nicole Kidman
I will be promoting cruises. My side hustle.
Jimmy Fallon
Really? What do you Love about it because
Nicole Kidman
I love doing karaoke night. I just love being like all the different restaurants and you can go. Anyway, look, this is not interesting.
Jimmy Fallon
No, it is. People want to know if I truly
Nicole Kidman
recommend cruises to people.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Luke Thompson
Okay.
Nicole Kidman
I've not been on a date Disney cruise though.
Jimmy Fallon
You've not done Disney yet?
Nicole Kidman
No, I was gonna do it with my kids when they were little.
Jack Hughes
Little.
Nicole Kidman
But I mean, I'm past that now. I'm not going on a Disney cruise.
Jimmy Fallon
No, you could do it. Still.
No.
Nicole Kidman
You should do a Disney cruise. Are you a Disney adult?
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, sure. I mean, I think about a Disney world. You feel like a kid. You feel like a kid when you go to Disney.
Nicole Kidman
I feel like a kid. Yeah.
Luke Thompson
You do.
Nicole Kidman
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. You feel like. Yeah.
Hillary Knight
Yeah.
Nicole Kidman
Anyway, I recommend Antarctica, I recommend cruises and I recommend more holidays.
Jimmy Fallon
And I wann another movie you have coming out. Everyone's excited about this. Practical Magic 2 is done. It's happening.
Come on.
You and Sandra Bullock are back.
Nicole Kidman
My witchy sister.
Jimmy Fallon
What was it like? What was it like getting back? Is it like running back?
Nicole Kidman
We spent the summer together and she is the warmest, loveliest woman. And she just. She is just heaven. Heaven on a stick. So I hope you love the movie because the movie's got a lot of.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, yeah.
Nicole Kidman
Witchy love in it.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Nicole Kidman
Get going. Right.
Jimmy Fallon
Is there gonna be another midnight margarita scene?
Nicole Kidman
Oh, yeah, there is.
Luke Thompson
Oh, yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
That's what I'm talking about.
Nicole Kidman
I'll be back here drinking midnight margaritas.
Jimmy Fallon
Thank you. Yeah, right. Please, you have to come back. Yeah, but you know what? I've seen a lot of you. We all have. If you go to the movies, when you see those AMC ads.
Yes.
People, you know, it's gone viral. People are dressing up as you for Halloween, doing this. Yeah, certain people. Some people in the audience are. Someone's waiting right there.
Really?
Yeah, they are. We don't pay them, but that's pretty fun.
Luke Thompson
Come on. Yes.
Nicole Kidman
Hotbreak feels good in a place like this.
Jimmy Fallon
Come on. That's what I'm talking about.
Nicole Kidman
No, but the weirdest thing about that was we literally. It shows you when something like. I had no idea that thing was going to work. And we did it out of the purest of intentions because Billy Ray, who's a writer friend of mine, I called him up, I said, should we do this? We need to help the theaters. It's Covid. It was during COVID when we did it and the crew that I was working with on Being the Ricardos, I said, would you guys Be willing to do this. And Jeff Cronenweth, who was shooting, he was the dp. He was like, I'll direct it.
Jimmy Fallon
Called in all these favors.
Nicole Kidman
And we did it.
Luke Thompson
Yeah.
Nicole Kidman
Called in all these favors, we did it for nothing. And then it went off.
Jimmy Fallon
Good for you.
Nicole Kidman
Thank you. And thank you for supporting cinemas.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, thank you.
So good.
Let's talk about Scarpetta. This is a big deal. This is based on the popular book series. You play a medical examiner.
Nicole Kidman
I do.
Jimmy Fallon
Are you Method Nicole Kidman?
Nicole Kidman
Yes, I am. I can do an autopsy.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, my God.
Wow, that's amazing.
Nicole Kidman
I can. I can. Yes. If I needed to, I could do the autopsy. I can remove all the organs. I can name them all. You actually asked me, they said, would you be willing to do one on the show?
Jimmy Fallon
And I went, what are you talking about?
I would never in your life ask me.
No, they did. They asked me, did you do an
autopsy on the show?
Yes. No.
Nicole Kidman
Unless I misunderstood. Maybe it was on a dummy or something. But either way, I don't think that would have been a very.
Jimmy Fallon
I have a name, by the way. I have a name, a dummy. Just call me Jimmy.
Nicole Kidman
But I can remove the lungs and the liver and the gallbladder and the testes.
Jimmy Fallon
How do you get to learn all this?
Nicole Kidman
Because it's part of the job. And I worked with an incredible medical examiner and I don't mess with the whole kid. I study more.
Jimmy Fallon
She's the best at every single thing. You are just awesome. And you also executive producer on this as well.
Hillary Knight
Yeah.
Nicole Kidman
And Jamie Lee Curtis is in it.
Jimmy Fallon
And Bobby Cannavale.
Nicole Kidman
All of them. Simon Baker. Simon Baker. Ariana. Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
Ariana DeBose. That's my pal.
Nicole Kidman
She's fantastic.
Jimmy Fallon
How do we set up what Scarpetta's about?
Nicole Kidman
It's a medical examiner who is coming back to her job after 30 years. And there's a parallel story of the two crimes that have happened in present day and 30 years ago. That's the beginning. And then there's all the family drama. And it's. If you like crime thrillers, which there is a ton of people out there that like.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, yeah.
Scott Perla. Premieres March 11th on Prime Video.
More tonight's show after the break. Stick around, everybody.
Our next guest is a talented actor
who stars in season four of the Giant show, Bridgerton. All episodes are streaming now on Netflix. Please welcome Luke Thompson.
That's what I'm talking about.
Come on.
Oh, yes. Hello, Luke.
Luke Thompson
Hi.
Jimmy Fallon
Welcome to the show. So you are British, correct?
Luke Thompson
Correct.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes, but you were born in Paris.
Luke Thompson
No, no, no. So my parents were English, but we moved to France when I was 2, so I stayed there. I did all my childhood there, all my teenage years, then came back at the age of 18. But then, obviously I had English, but I didn't have any of the English cultural references, so I was neither. Or neither. Either. Or. Is that the expression?
Jimmy Fallon
That's how they say it.
Luke Thompson
Maybe that's why I became an actor.
Jimmy Fallon
Do you know what I mean? Exactly. Yeah.
Luke Thompson
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Do you still speak a little French or.
Luke Thompson
Yeah, I mean, I can teach you some. Would you like me to teach you some? A little bit?
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Luke Thompson
Yeah. They've got really good idioms, like really good phrases. And there's one I've got for you is C' est la fronde Haricourt. It literally means it's the end of the beans. And what it means is if you go to the fridge and you've run out of milk or something and you're feeling a bit dramatic about it, you say, c' est la fin d'. Haricourt. It means there's no hope left.
Jimmy Fallon
This is the end of the beans.
Luke Thompson
Yeah. Do you want to try it? C' est la fin.
Jimmy Fallon
C' est la font d'.
Luke Thompson
Haricourt.
Jimmy Fallon
Salafant d', Elicourt d' Haricourt, d' Haric Haricot.
Luke Thompson
And a bit of a Gaelic shrug, maybe, as well.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, perfect. I have no idea what he just said.
Thank you.
You studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Congratulations on getting in there and performing there. But you got to perform in front of the Queen.
Luke Thompson
I did get to perform once in front of the Queen. Talk to me,
Jimmy Fallon
talk to me about this. What do you remember? Tell me everything.
Luke Thompson
Well, it was a sort of event at the Royal Academy, and all of the students got to do monologues in different rooms and she would stop in front one of the rooms and whoever she stopped in front of would get to do their monologue. It was like a weird sort of game show. And she stopped in front of me. I mean, look, she didn't like theater, so I don't think she had a great time, but I did.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Yeah.
Luke Thompson
And I still think that's what matters, really, in that moment.
Jimmy Fallon
I mean, that must have been. But talk about pressure.
Yeah.
Luke Thompson
No, not really.
Nicole Kidman
Wow.
Luke Thompson
Because she didn't like, you know, she
Jimmy Fallon
didn't like it, but you didn't know that coming in.
Luke Thompson
And also, there's something about the Queen where it was a bit like she could have been a waxwork. Do you know What? I mean, because she's so famous, you're like, oh, it's just the wax work.
Hillary Knight
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
It's not the real queen. Yeah. It's a wax figure.
Luke Thompson
Exactly.
Jimmy Fallon
You actually brought a photo.
Luke Thompson
Well, yeah, because I don't think you'd believe me.
Jimmy Fallon
So right now I'm not sure if I do.
I do.
Luke Thompson
Yeah. There you go. I've got. I'm holding a cricket bat.
Jimmy Fallon
That's a bit intimidating for the Queen.
Luke Thompson
I think it helps when it makes people listen to you, I think.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Wait, so there was just a teaser.
Luke Thompson
There she is. I mean, join me. And it could be anyone, but that is definitely the Queen. I promise.
Jimmy Fallon
Is there anyone else in the room with you? Just the four of you?
Luke Thompson
It's a blur. I can't remember. In my head, it was so intimate. It was just me and Liz. Do you know everything?
Jimmy Fallon
Everyone else just. That's a show I like. Just me and Liz. Did you ever have any famous scene partners at RADA that went on to be famous?
Luke Thompson
Yes. I was in the same year as Jesse Buckley.
Jimmy Fallon
No.
Luke Thompson
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we did a bit.
Jimmy Fallon
You guys are having a good year.
Luke Thompson
Yeah, we did a bit of Shakespeare together. In fact, our very first job after drama school was at the Globe Theatre. We weren't in the same play, but we were in the same. I did miss something, like Dream, and she did the Tempest.
Jimmy Fallon
Wow. Yeah.
Now, is that, like, form the Queen at the Globe Theatre?
Yeah.
I mean, Bridgerton, where is it all I've done. Okay, you've done not bad. But you've done everything.
Luke Thompson
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
I mean.
Yeah.
Luke Thompson
Do you think it's the end now?
Jimmy Fallon
No, no, no.
I'm saying. No, no. It's just the beginning. Just the beginning? Are you kidding me? Just the beginning for you. But I'm just saying, these are giant things. I would freak out, just even be near the Queen. Globe Theater is a dream.
Luke Thompson
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Bridgerton, you do. It's global.
Luke Thompson
It is global.
Jimmy Fallon
It's massive. People love it. Yeah, People love the romance. You're a stud. I mean, let's talk about Bridgerton this season. Tell you, bud, this season is about you.
Quinn Hughes
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
When do you find that out? When you.
Luke Thompson
You don't have too much time to sort of, like, work up to it. I'd say, like, maybe like a few months. I knew. But it's quite good because, to be honest, I think as a job, it can be a little bit allergic to preparation. Like, it's good to prepare a little bit.
Jimmy Fallon
Okay.
Luke Thompson
But also, if you prepare too much, you worry and then you get in
Jimmy Fallon
your head, it won't be as good,
Luke Thompson
and then it'll be a disaster. Ah, you like to keep it.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, yeah.
Fresh.
Yeah.
Luke Thompson
You just have to go, go, go with the flow a little bit.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. And I know Jonathan Bailey joined you.
Luke Thompson
Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
At the end. People were there.
We all are.
Luke Thompson
There he is. And then there's Luke Newton, who you've met as well.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes, I know Luke Newton as well.
Luke Thompson
Newton as well.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. I love him. But what's it like getting these three guys together?
Luke Thompson
It's amazing because, like, we've got. Well, they bring that history with them as well. And also we've all done this thing. We're the only three brothers so far that have done.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Luke Thompson
This thing.
Jimmy Fallon
So have you ever worked with him before this?
Luke Thompson
Johnny? Yeah, No, I didn't work with him, but he. I took over from him in a play. So I was doing King Lear and it was with Ian McKellen. Ian McKellen was playing Lear.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, my goodness.
Luke Thompson
And he was playing at Ferdinand. And then I took over for the West End. So we weren't actually on stage at the same time. But that's what's great about this show is that in a lot of other projects, you wouldn't necessarily get to be in scenes with someone who's like, I guess, in your sort of casting bracket. Do you know what I'm saying?
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Luke Thompson
As in, like, it's actually really nice to have us as three brothers.
Jimmy Fallon
You know each other.
Luke Thompson
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
And you know each other in the final episode of Bridgerton Part 1.
Luke Thompson
Yes. No spoilers. Okay, I know what you're gonna say.
Jimmy Fallon
Well, we're a little upset. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Benedict proposes to Sophie. Right. But we can say that.
Luke Thompson
Yeah, we can say that.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. But it's not a marriage proposal.
Luke Thompson
No, it's not.
Jimmy Fallon
He asks her to be his mistress.
Yeah, dude, Boo is right.
What were you thinking? And what in the world is wrong?
Luke Thompson
I just think Benedict's a bit scared. I think it's scary to give someone everything.
Jimmy Fallon
Jimmy, be my mistress.
Luke Thompson
I know, I know. But I think what's wonderful about it is that, you know, everyone talks about the show in terms of the episode one being, oh, it's a Cinderella story. It's a Cinderella story. And it is up to a point. But the whole dynamic of the show is all these record scratch moments. It's all about fantasy and then the real world this season, I think.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Luke Thompson
And so actually, you know, he. And also, I hope he redeems himself in part two. We'll find out.
Jimmy Fallon
Okay, good.
Luke Thompson
All right.
Jimmy Fallon
Hopefully.
Luke Thompson
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Luke Thompson, everybody. Season 4 Bridgerton is streaming now on Netflix. We'll be right back. Stick around.
If I ask you, you feel a
better answer back, see me pulling big boy Burgundy Cadillac.
Our guests made history at the 2026 Winter Olympics with their gold medal wins from. From the USA men's and women's hockey teams, please welcome Jack Hughes, Quinn Hughes, and Hilary Knight.
That's what I'm talking about.
Thank you so much for being here. We're honored to have you all. I. I really, really appreciate this. I know you capped off your Olympic gold win with the cameo on Saturday Night Live over the weekend. What's more nerve wracking? The Olympics or snl?
Hillary Knight
Snl.
Jimmy Fallon
I think you guys did a great job. Hillary, let's start with you. By the way, you became the first US Hockey player to compete in five Winter Olympics. Come on. You became the all time leader for most goals scored and most in U.S. women's Olympic history. You scored the game tying goal with two minutes left in the gold medal game. That was unbelievable. And another great accomplishment. You got engaged at the Olympics the day before the gold medal game.
Come on.
What are you talking about? Here's you proposing to your then girlfriend, Brittany.
Luke Thompson
Bo,
Jimmy Fallon
Were you. Were you nervous there? What are you standing on? By the way?
Hillary Knight
Great. I wouldn't recommend it.
Jimmy Fallon
Wait, are you out of your. What if you dropped the ring?
Quinn Hughes
Almost.
Jimmy Fallon
You know, why add more stress to your life?
Hillary Knight
I don't know. I like high pressure situations, I guess.
Jimmy Fallon
But, Hillary, the grass was right there. You could have just took a step there. It would have been, oh, my God. Obviously she said yes.
Hillary Knight
She did.
Jimmy Fallon
She's off the bat. Congratulations. Why did you feel like this is the time to do it?
Hillary Knight
You know, I was really nervous during the Olympics, and logistically it just made sense with her schedule, my schedule, and I just went full send and didn't think about the grate until I was hovering over it. Half kneeled, shaking.
Jimmy Fallon
This is as far as I can go.
Yeah, go.
Which way does the box open? Did you have the ring with you the whole time?
Hillary Knight
I did, and I would check on it every single night. And I was like, this is the day.
Jimmy Fallon
Come on.
Hillary Knight
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Congratulations to you and Brittany. Brittany's here. Brittany, are you in the audience?
Yeah.
Luke Thompson
Come on.
Jimmy Fallon
Hey, congratulations, gorgeous. Come on. I can't see. The women's gold medal game was a couple of days before the men's. Quinn, what was it like for you guys to watch Hillary and the women's Team win gold. Yeah.
Quinn Hughes
I mean, it was awesome. I mean, my mom's been working with the team for the last two or three years now, and I know they won like seven or eight in a row against Canada. So we were just hoping that this wasn't the one, that Canada would get over them. But it was great to watch.
Jimmy Fallon
Where were you watching it?
Quinn Hughes
We were in a box at the game. And we were actually, you know, with Tom Brady. And there's me, Jack and Tom watching the game.
Jimmy Fallon
That's kind of exciting. Yeah.
Quinn Hughes
I mean, it was crazy. I don't know how we got up there.
Jack Hughes
He was the most pumped out of
Luke Thompson
all of us, too.
Jack Hughes
He was crazy.
Quinn Hughes
It was fun to watch. And obviously they got it done. It was a nail biter. But I think they were the better team and was happy for them. And no one was happier than Tom. He was jumping up and down.
Jimmy Fallon
Brady loves you.
Jack Hughes
Brady.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, he loves you guys.
Quinn Hughes
And obviously me and Jack were thrilled and, yeah, super happy.
Jimmy Fallon
Did it inspire you to try to go for the gold there? And you go, yeah.
Quinn Hughes
I mean, obviously it would have been the first time that USA Hockey went 2 for 2 at the Olympics, So we were trying to do that. But, yeah, you did it.
Jimmy Fallon
You guys were. Quinn, you and Jack were roommates too, right? In the Olympic Village? You sure were.
Luke Thompson
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Now, describe the room to me. How big we talking about here?
Jack Hughes
Like, this was the size of the beds right here.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Jack Hughes
It was like, I didn't go to college, but Quinn obviously went to Michigan and. Yeah, go blue.
Luke Thompson
Yeah, go blue.
Quinn Hughes
Yep.
Jack Hughes
But he pretty much said it was like being back in the dorm rooms again. And it was just, like, funny because we walked in and the beds were, like, this far apart from each other. And then the first thing we did, we were like, we gotta move these beds. So we started shifting things around because.
Jimmy Fallon
Did it feel like you were growing up in your bed?
Jack Hughes
I didn't want to roll over and be, like, this far from.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Jack Hughes
So did you move the beds? It made the room seem a little bigger.
Jimmy Fallon
But did you talk to each other, like, before you went to bed?
Quinn Hughes
It was funny. This guy, like, there's a couple nights where I'm rolling around, he's like, dude, you gotta stop rolling around. Like, I can't. Cause you know when the covers make loud noises.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, of course.
Quinn Hughes
But, I mean, we loved it. The room was small, like you said. I felt like I was a freshman at Michigan again.
Jimmy Fallon
And who's a messier roommate? Be honest.
Jack Hughes
I will say, like, so over time, I Am definitely the cleaner guy. But we got, like four hockey bags of USA clothes. Every Olympian athlete. So, like, it was mayhem in the room the first three, four days. Cause you're just ripping packages open. You got new clothes, and it's like the room's small. You got four new hockey bags each of clothes.
Jimmy Fallon
You have no room.
Jack Hughes
But yes. Like, his side of the room ended up being a lot messier than my side of the room.
Jimmy Fallon
You lived a moment every kid who plays hockey dreams of, Jack. You scoring the game winner in a gold medal game. But before that, you got your hit in the mouth and you got your tooth knocked out.
Oh, no.
And then you scored the game winning goal with no tooth.
It was. It was the most hockiest thing.
Oh, my God.
Luke Thompson
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Dude, I thought you. I thought you were gonna pull out the tooth. I swear, for a second, I thought that is the most hockey thing I could even think of ever happening in the world. What happens to. And you would know, too, as a hockey player. You get hit in the mouth, I would freak out. What do you do?
Jack Hughes
Yeah, I mean, I just remember Quinn. He was the first guy closest to me, and I remember him coming up to me at the TV timeout, and he was like, it's not that bad. Like, it's only chips. That's what he said.
Jimmy Fallon
I thought. That bad.
Jack Hughes
And that was like four minutes left in the game, like, when we were serious, like, trying to win this thing. And he came up and said, look at me. But more of just like, you don't want to spend time in the dentist's chair, obviously. So that was. That's the biggest issue, I'd say.
Jimmy Fallon
So you haven't had time to get anything repaired. I feel like this might be your thing. I think you might have to just. Are you getting used to having the hole in your mouth?
Jack Hughes
I can promise you this won't be my thing.
Jimmy Fallon
But now, come on.
It has to be your thing. Every time you come on the show, I want you to knock it out.
Jack Hughes
Since we've been back in the US we feel the love like crazy. Like, so much support. But when people are coming up for a picture, they'll be like, smile, Yeah. I gotta see the teeth smile.
Jimmy Fallon
And I'm like, you gotta show the tooth. Yeah. Hillary, playing in the Olympics, let alone five Olympics, is a lofty goal. But this is true. You actually told your mom when you were five.
Yeah.
You said, I'm going to the Olympics.
Hillary Knight
Yeah. I'm just dialed like that, you know,
Jimmy Fallon
and they were there.
Hillary Knight
We didn't have women's hockey in the Olympics at that time. I just must have seen it on TV and. And was like, that's what I'm doing. I want to play hockey.
Jimmy Fallon
That's right. That's right. You tell them how to do it. Yeah, but then, you know, you go five Olympics.
Yeah. And then you win the gold. Right?
Come on. I mean, come on. Your family's super proud.
Hillary Knight
It's so cool. Cause our entire family went over to Italy and got to cheer on Team USA and be the best cheerleaders, best supporters.
Jimmy Fallon
Good to meet your brother. He's awesome. Yeah.
Hillary Knight
Yeah. They bring the cowbells and the beer.
Jimmy Fallon
So, Jack, before you were drafted in 2019, you were asked to write a letter to your future self. Do you remember doing this?
Jack Hughes
No, I don't.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, well, I'm reading.
Jack Hughes
How bad is it?
Jimmy Fallon
It's not broken toothpad, but it's. No, no, I think you're gonna like what you wrote. You said to yourself, remember those winters? That's where everything started. Your brothers made you who you are on and off the ice. I hope that they'll be able to say you did the same for them and that they had great NHL careers, too. Maybe you even suited up with them a couple of times. Maybe we all represented the United States at the Olympics. Maybe we won a gold medal or gold medals together. What an honor that would be.
Come on. You did it, guys.
You did it.
Come on.
You did it.
The young.
The youngest brother is here.
Luke Thompson
He's on the.
Jimmy Fallon
Darius, right there. Yo, Luke.
Luke, are. Are. Are you going to be. What are we thinking here? Are you going to join the. The squad when it comes to. I hope so. Yeah. We're. We need all the brothers together. Hillary, you said 20, 26 would be your last, but now after you're uber famous now, are you thinking about maybe changing your mind?
French Alps. I don't know.
You like French Alps?
Hillary Knight
As of now, this is definitely my last, I mean, storybook ending. Amazing team to go out with. Just incredible win double golds.
Jimmy Fallon
I mean, you crush it. You're an absolute legend.
Hillary Knight
Couldn't have been written better.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Yeah, exactly. And fairy tale and love is in the air. It's all perfect. Jack and Quinn, can we see you 2030? I hope so.
Yeah.
Quinn Hughes
I mean, that was like. That was the best couple weeks of our lives. I mean, to do it again would be an honor. And hopefully with the big man up there.
Jimmy Fallon
You'll bring Luke.
Quinn Hughes
Yeah, you'll bring Luke with you.
Jimmy Fallon
