From Studio 6B in Rockefeller center in the heart of New York City, it's the Tonight show, starring Jimmy Fallon. Tonight, join Jimmy and his guests, Tracy Morgan, Nev Campbell. And featuring the legendary Roots crew. Wanna do Pinky for. And now, here he is. Jim, Come on. Thank you very much. Come on. Now. That's what I'm talking about. Welcome, everybody. Enjoy yourself.
Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Tonight Show.
We are here.
What a show we have for you tonight.
Tracy Morgan is my guest tonight. Nev Campbell is here.
Now that is a fun group to be snowed in with. Yeah. Come on, let's do it. Yeah. Everyone here is talking about the historic blizzard that just snapped. It is crazy out there. The only way I can get to work was by jumping in a German bobsled. Yep. All day long, people were wondering, how bad will it get and when will it end? It's the same questions you'll ask tomorrow during President Trump's State of the Union. When will it end? Besides the snow, it's just brutally cold. I mean, people outside are more frozen than Prince Andrew in the back of a police car. You know, really? People are really people. Yeah. The extreme snow caused whiteout conditions. Yeah. Right now, the entire Northeast. Looks like someone turned on a ceiling fan in Miami.
Hey, turn it off.
Today's blizzard canceled school for millions of students on the east coast. And it led to a very interesting commercial I saw. Watch this. There's nothing more important than your child's safety, which is why it's best that they stay home from school. But while you take care of them, make sure you also take care of yourself. A message from your friends at Jack Daniels. I get it now. Take care of yourself. Take care of yourself first. Yep. The storm continues to wreak havoc, and as of now, 60,000 people in the Northeast have lost power. Or as the supreme court put it, 60,001.
Tracy Morgan
Wow.
Jimmy Fallon
Wow. Yeah. Another person. Who was that? Was it supposed to be Donald Trump? Because of the Supreme Court verdict? I guess.
Yeah.
Well, is that the human. The Supreme. They said. They said 60,000 people have lost power. Right. And the Supreme Court heard that tidbit of information and said, we'd like to add to that. Right. 60,001. Right. Because of the rulings they made on the tariff. Right. It was a ruling the other day. Yeah. That they made about the tariffs. Super funny. Super funny. If you're following the news. Yeah, it's super. Yeah. Topical. Topical. And, I mean, that story is what, two, three days old? Four days old, man. Yeah. It's ripped from today's. Headlines. Well, if today was four days ago. Yeah, yeah, sure. It's ripped from today's headline.
Nev Campbell
Right.
Jimmy Fallon
If today was four days ago. Right, but we weren't on four days ago. We weren't on. We've been off for two weeks. I should be making super bowl jokes.
Yeah.
Did you watch the Super Bowl? Gosh, that was so long ago.
Tracy Morgan
I don't remember.
Jimmy Fallon
It was around the time when the Supreme Court. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I thought it was good. Yeah. Good for the Seahawks. Yeah. Charlie Puth. Yeah. Charlie Puth was fantastic. Oh, Charlie Puth is the best. He was amazing. Bad bunny. Fantastic. Oh, that's Joe.
That was crazy.
I gambled on this one. On the halftime show or the Super. No, no, no. On the coin flip. No, I gambled on the. On the. On the. I bet on the game. Seahawks. Did you win? I won. Yeah. How much money? I won like, $200. $200. But you know what it is? So my friend did it through DraftKings. I said, I'll go halves with you. And I didn't know this because I don't gamble or bet, but, you know, they. If you're winning, they text you and they go, hey, do you want to call it? They go, hey, let's just make it even now. And, wow. You know that? No. Yeah. They go, hey, we're good. Yeah. Hey, Like, I was like, no, we're not good. I'm gonna win. I want all of the money. And they go, yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, but would you be happy with, say, I don't know, 50 bucks? I go, no, my friend was ready to cave. I go, no way. All in. Let's do it. That's crazy. 200 bucks richer. That's like. Wait, that's like. That's like five coffees at Starbucks. Yeah, well, almost. I'm set for the week. Almost five. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm set for the week. Uh, well, guess everybody was talking about the story in Washington that Trump was shut down by the Supreme Court after they ruled that he's not allowed to impose sweeping tariffs on every country. Yeah. After the Supreme Court's decision, Trump said that he would take the case to the suprema court. I'm talking to all the Supremes. Diana Ross. Diana Ross. Get Diana Ross on the phone. Get me Marty Suprema.
Tracy Morgan
Marty.
Jimmy Fallon
Supreme.
Yep. The US may have to pay back $140 billion. Trump was like, I'm going to be honest. It's all tied up in ballrooms right now. So I don't know. Well, get this. Trump said that he is ordering the government to release classified FIL on aliens and UFOs, unless the aliens spent time with Jeffrey Epstein, in which case, still classified. We're not still classified. Well, tomorrow night is the State of the Union, and I just saw an interesting commercial for it. Watch this. Tomorrow night, President Trump will address the nation. And while you watch him speak for 90 minutes, be sure to reach for Jack Daniels. Very interesting campaign they're doing. Sweeping, sweeping campaign. Well, the Winter Olympics are over, and one of the big moments was yesterday when the USA men's hockey team beat
Canada in overtime to win the gold medal.
Canadians were so upset, they started drinking their maple syrup straight from the bottle. It's 9am somewhere, eh? Yeah. The US Men and Women's hockey teams just won gold at the Winter Olympics. Yep, it's pretty incredible. Check out what some of the players are saying about it. First up, men's team captain Auston Matthews said, this is incredible. I can't believe we won gold. Next up, women's team captain Hilary Knight said, I couldn't be prouder of our team. We did it. And finally, yesterday's hero, Jack Hughes said, this is absolutely amazing. I'm so excited. Usa. Usa. Usa.
Usa.
Ufa. Yeah, that's right. Ufa. Yeah. He's a hero. Switching gears, I read that Axe Body Spray is trying to prevent overuse of their product with a new mechanism that delivers a lighter, more controlled application.
Nev Campbell
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Now, if you're wondering how much Axe Body Spray is too much, the answer is any much. You know you have a good product when you're looking for ways to make people smell less like it. You guys see this? The grandson of the Reese's Peanut Butter cup inventor has accused Hershey of quietly replacing the candy's ingredients to save money. Oh. Even worse, it's now flavored with Axe Body Spray. But really, wow. And finally, two men in Michigan broke a world record by playing pickleball for 28 hours straight. 28 hours of pickleball. And that evens out to five to seven minutes of tennis. We have a great show.
Give it up for the Roost, ladies and gentlemen. Wow. Welcome to the show, everybody.
We're so happy to be back. We've got a great week of shows coming up. Courteney Cox will be here.
Oh, come on. Priyanka Chopra. Jonas will be here.
Kit Harington will be on the show. Plus, we've got the host of Survivor 50. Jeff Probst will be here.
We'll be talking to Jeff Probst.
The new Survivor 50 is gonna be great. We'll also be talking to Mike White, Survivor, and the creator of Red and White Lotus. It's a big week. But first, what a show we have for you tonight. He is a hilarious actor and comedian who stars in the new series the Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins. Man, this show is funny. The premise is unbelievable. So Tracy plays this retired NFL player and he's gotten. He's done some bad things. I think he just gambled and said that. Yeah. So he hires a documentary crew to film. To film him, like a reality show type of documentary to try to get him back in the hall of fame. It's ridiculous. It is so funny. It's great. New episodes air Mondays at 8:30 on NBC. And the next day on Peacock. Tracy Morgan is here tonight. Tracy Morgan, the best. Best. God bless him. I've known Tracy for 24, 25, almost 30 years. 30 years. Cause I knew him before I was on SNL. Really? We both auditioned at the same night, I think at the Comic Strip. I did not get it. Tracy did get it. Right. But I remember going to SNL and I brought my dad and we went to go see the show. And then Tracy goes, what are you guys doing now? I go, it was after the show. I go, we're going to a hotel or a home. He goes, come to the after party. I go, this is amazing. I go, all right, I'll meet you there. He goes, no, come in my limousine. So he took me and my dad and his limbsy. I wasn't on the show, nothing. He's just a nice dude. He's a good dude and I've known him for 30 years. And here we are. And there's another show back at NBC. I'm psyched.
Tracy Morgan
Good morning.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, my God. She is starring in the new movie Scream 7, which is in theaters and IMAX this Friday. Oh, it's gonna be big.
Ned Campbell is joining us.
Oh, it's gonna be a big show. Guys, it is time to play the world's simplest game. I ask one audience member, and if they get it right, the entire audience goes home with the prize. It's time to play One answer only. Here we go.
Hi.
What's your name and where are you from? My name is Casey. I'm from San Francisco.
Hey, welcome.
Thank you for doing this. Okay, you heard the rules. I will ask you a single trivia question and possible answers. And if you guessed correctly, everyone in our audience wins a prize.
Nev Campbell
Oh,
Jimmy Fallon
it's that easy. Okay, are you ready I'm ready. Okay, here is the question. This famous actor was just nominated for an Oscar for his leading role in Marty supreme and has previously starred in the Bob Dylan biopic and Wonka. Is it A, George Clooney, B, Adam Sandler, C, Finn Wolfhard or is it D, Jason Bateman or E, Clint Eastwood? F, Peppa Pig? G, Vecna from Stranger Things? Is it H, the limu emu? Is it I, the movie character Rocky Balboa? Is it J, the actor who played the movie character Rocky Babo? Is it K the website Etsy? L. Paul Bunyan, not the giant lumberjack. A Paul Bunyan that I went to middle school with M a half eaten bag of pirate's booty N the sound of rain. Not thunder, but rather that gentle pitter patter against a window letting you know that for the next few hours, you have an excuse to cuddle up on the couch with your favorite book and a nice cup of tea because mother nature feels like crying for just a little bit. Oh, people who say, don't talk to me before I've had my coffee. P a melted snowman. Oh, sorry. We'll be right back with a brief message. Hello. Proper desk posture is incredibly important. Sit upright, keep your feet flat and position your screen at eye level. You're welcome. That's so important to remember. Now back to the game. There's a Q, an itch on your back that's just out of reach, so you do that thing where you rub your back on the wall to get it R that friend on a text chain that tries way too hard. So you toss them a ha ha every so often, even if you don't mean it. Or is it S. Timothee chalamet? Let's put 45 minutes on the clock, but if you know the answer, you can answer immediately. Jimmy. I'll go with s. Timothee Chalamet. Judges.
That is correct. That means everyone is going home with a pint of Ben and Jerry's tonight. Dough ice cream.
Nev Campbell
Stick around.
Jimmy Fallon
We're talking to Tracy Morgan when we come back, everybody, great job. We have a lot of options, but you chose the right one.
Our first guest is an Emmy nominated actor and comedian who stars in the new show the Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins. New episodes air Mondays at 8:30 on NBC and the next day on Peacock. Everyone please welcome Tracy Morgan.
They love you. They love you.
Tracy Morgan
Warriors, man.
Jimmy Fallon
They love you.
Tracy Morgan
They trekked through a blizzard to get to you, bro.
Jimmy Fallon
That's all you.
Tracy Morgan
But you, you, you. Oh, man.
Jimmy Fallon
Welcome Back to the Tonight Show. Looking good, buddy.
Tracy Morgan
Thank you, baby.
Jimmy Fallon
You look great.
Tracy Morgan
Thank you.
Jimmy Fallon
I saw you this morning. You were meeting Olympians at the Today Show. Look at you.
Tracy Morgan
Suni Lee and Chloe Kim.
Jimmy Fallon
That's right, Suni Lee. The best gold medal.
Tracy Morgan
Between both of them, they got nine medals.
Jimmy Fallon
Wow.
That's amazing.
Tracy Morgan
I don't know one dude with medals. Scratch that. This dude named Rodney from our projects, he got medals, but they ain't come from no Olympics.
Jimmy Fallon
How many medals? You have a nice medallion there. That's beautiful.
Tracy Morgan
No, this is my kids. See, that's me, my daughter, my son. I keep my kids with me. That's my babies.
Jimmy Fallon
I know you love your family, man. Last time I saw you in this hallway at SNL 50th, you were wearing a gold chain and a big medallion.
Tracy Morgan
Eddie was wearing that.
Jimmy Fallon
And then Eddie Murphy.
Tracy Morgan
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Did an impression of you on Saturday Night Live. Talk to me, Tracy.
I won.
Talk to me.
Tracy Morgan
I won.
Jimmy Fallon
No, you won, dude.
Tracy Morgan
Tell me when somebody like Eddie Murphy do an impression of you. You won.
Jimmy Fallon
Won. Exactly right.
That's exactly right.
Tracy Morgan
Eddie Murphy is my. That's my og. That's my guy.
Jimmy Fallon
He's the greatest.
Tracy Morgan
Talk every day.
Jimmy Fallon
I love that.
Tracy Morgan
Yeah, we talk every day. I love him. He's kind. He's so sweet and humble and kind.
Jimmy Fallon
We were talking. We were in the hallway and we were talking and you're like. You call me Jim.
Tracy Morgan
Jimbo.
Jimmy Fallon
Jimbo.
Tracy Morgan
Since day one.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. And you said, jimbo. I can't believe this happened. Eddie Murphy is. I mean, he's doing an impression of you on Saturday night.
Tracy Morgan
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
I was so happy for you.
Tracy Morgan
A lot of people saw that.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, but you deserve that.
Tracy Morgan
And it was huge.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, but. And then I saw you posted a photo of you backstage with Cher. Oh, hey, that's what I'm talking about. That's my fave, too.
Tracy Morgan
The mother of my children. Mother of my children. I was there before Sunny.
Jimmy Fallon
Wait, really?
Tracy Morgan
I used to sing to her all the time. I got you, baby. That was my song.
Jimmy Fallon
Wow.
Tracy Morgan
I got no publishing.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, my God.
Wrong.
I can't believe it.
Tracy Morgan
I love you, Cherry. Tell the kids I said good night. Make me sick.
Jimmy Fallon
No, I. I could tell.
Tracy Morgan
She used to get on my nerves. I used to talk to her stomach when she was pregnant with my daughter. I used to talk to her stomach all the time. You did?
Jimmy Fallon
That's sweet of you. What would you say different?
Tracy Morgan
Huh?
Jimmy Fallon
What would you say?
Tracy Morgan
I said daddy love.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, yeah, that's cute.
Tracy Morgan
Daddy love.
Jimmy Fallon
That's so cute. That's amazing. But I could tell though. Cause I was there. This is real. This is not.
Tracy Morgan
That's my baby girl. My baby girl. My baby girl.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, that's right. This is not AI right. This is real.
I don't even know.
Tracy Morgan
I'm scared of AI. You ain't see the Terminator? I don't even know how to turn a computer off. If it start making noise, I'll just pull the plug out. I'm old school.
Jimmy Fallon
I know, I know, I know. You're a big New York Knicks fan.
What?
Yes.
Tracy Morgan
I love the team. That's my team.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, I know it.
Tracy Morgan
That's my team. They're doing great. Last year I bought them all sneakers. Kobe, Bruce lee's. They like 2,700 a pop. I bought everybody on the team two pair.
Jimmy Fallon
Wow.
You love this.
Tracy Morgan
Oh, my God. I love you.
Jimmy Fallon
They love you too.
Tracy Morgan
When I lose a draw, I ain't going nowhere.
Jimmy Fallon
You brought your co star of Reggie Dinkins, Daniel Radcliffe to a Nick game. What is it like?
Tracy Morgan
What is this like from a dude from the UK and a street dude from Brooklyn together at the game? Yeah, it was crazy. He was humble at the beginning, but then towards the end of the game, he started cursing refs out.
Jimmy Fallon
What?
Tracy Morgan
I said, daniel, chill out. He said, clean that glass out, ref.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh.
Tracy Morgan
Soon as they missed a call, clean that glass out.
Jimmy Fallon
Glass out.
Tracy Morgan
And I gave him that. I gave him that to yell out. And he just kept doing. He ran with it.
Jimmy Fallon
Clean that glass.
Tracy Morgan
Eye. I said, it's eyeball. Relax.
Jimmy Fallon
I was.
Tracy Morgan
It's halftime. But I'm a cool dad now. I got kids.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes.
Tracy Morgan
So growing up, they seen all of Harry Potter, the whole series.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes.
Tracy Morgan
So it's carpention. You gotta seize the moment all the time. You get to be a cool dad. Mom is always cool. But dad, you gotta pick and choose your points. I'm a cool dad now.
Jimmy Fallon
Cause we work together now. You're out with Harry Potter.
Tracy Morgan
That's right.
Jimmy Fallon
The fall and rise of Reggie Dinkins. That's what I'm talking about.
Tracy Morgan
Big up to Pete Rose. He never got in the hall of Fame. Got caught gambling.
Jimmy Fallon
That's right.
Tracy Morgan
They was mad at him cause he used a dugout phone to call his bookie.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, he did.
Tracy Morgan
Well, this is old to him.
Jimmy Fallon
Is it?
Tracy Morgan
I got caught gambling. Yeah, I got caught gambling. I'm trying to get into the hall of Fame now.
Jimmy Fallon
That's what Reggie Dinkins is about.
Tracy Morgan
It is funny. Y' all got to check it out. It's very well and it Gets funnier.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Tracy Morgan
So you can't tell how big a mountain is when you're standing right up on it. Cause I'm binge watching 30 Rock now. Cause it's so far away, I'm going, wow, this was a funny show. And we back in the saddle again.
Jimmy Fallon
That's right. Here you go. You're back. You got the same creators.
Tracy Morgan
And I love you, Tina, Sammy, Barbie, Carlo, Coca Cola. I love you for believing in me.
Jimmy Fallon
Tina Fey, Robert Carlock.
Tracy Morgan
Tina Fey is my sister. That's my sister.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, she loves you, and you guys work great together. Robert Carlock, we've known since SNL days. Coca Cola, is that you call him.
Tracy Morgan
That's what I call him. I don't call him Robert Karlach. I'm not calling him by his government. I call him Coca Cola. I don't know who his enemies are. You know, the government is always on his ass, especially around tax time.
Jimmy Fallon
You don't want any fingerprints on that. Nah, I don't want that. So Reggie Dinkins, a football player, got in trouble. He's not in the hall of fame. So you hire Daniel Radcliffe and Bobby Moynihan, who I love. He is so funny. Dude.
Tracy Morgan
He's our alumni.
Jimmy Fallon
We're his alumni. That's right. Snl, snl. But Drunk Uncle. He's crutch in every sketch he's in.
Tracy Morgan
Yep.
Jimmy Fallon
He's one of those players that just crush every time I see him.
Tracy Morgan
I love Bobby Moyni, Eric Alexander, Precious, Jalen. We are family on that show.
Jimmy Fallon
What is it fun? What's the set like?
Tracy Morgan
Good. I bring my boombox on stage. I'm a dj. They call me DJ Infidelity.
Jimmy Fallon
Basically, it's like a reality show in your life. Reggie D. Yeah.
Tracy Morgan
Talking Heads. It's funny. It's very funny, though.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, my gosh. There's 1,000 jokes per minute.
Tracy Morgan
It is so funny.
Jimmy Fallon
It's fantastic.
Tracy Morgan, everyone. Stick around. Don't change that channel. Come on back.
Our next guest is a talented actor and one of the original scream queens. She now stars in Scream 7, which is in theaters and IMAX this Friday. Please welcome Nev Campbel.
Come on. Nice to see you.
Thanks for. Yeah. Have you ever done stuff in front of a live audience?
Nev Campbell
I've done a little.
Jimmy Fallon
I'll do some theater. Yeah, yeah, I know. You did. You did Saturday Night Live years ago with.
Nev Campbell
I did.
Jimmy Fallon
In fact, Tracy Morgan was just out here. You did? He was on the cast when you hosted.
Yeah.
There's you.
Nev Campbell
He's amazing.
Jimmy Fallon
Tracy's Back there behind David Bowie and David Spade. Oh, my gosh. What was that like that night? Were you nervous?
Nev Campbell
Terrifying, really. I mean, the scariest thing I think I've ever done, really Well, I was young.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, yeah.
Nev Campbell
And it's a big responsibility.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Nev Campbell
You know, I wasn't known for comedy either, so, you know, I was a
Jimmy Fallon
little intimidated after air, after the whole thing. Did you want to do it again where you're like, yeah, I'm hooked. Uh, you're like, I did it. Let's do it.
Nev Campbell
I honestly felt like in that moment, it was the first time I think I was able to have something, like, understand. I think I just blacked out for the whole thing.
Jimmy Fallon
Did anyone give you any good advice or anything?
Nev Campbell
Lauren did. He was actually really sweet because he knew how scared I was. And he said something really lovely. He said, you know, what people love about this show is the mistakes. So few. I was like, oh, good, you've got a lot of confidence in me.
Jimmy Fallon
Well, get ready for a lot of mistakes. Yeah.
Nev Campbell
But it was sweet. And that is what people love about the show is knowing that it's live and anything can happen and when you guys crack up and all of that stuff.
Jimmy Fallon
Performing without a net. Yeah. Well, now, I want to mention, you're starring in season four of the Lincoln Lawyer, by the way, which is fantastic. You haven't seen her watch it right now. It was number one on Netflix. It's the biggest thing ever. But this season's all about you, bud.
Nev Campbell
I do a lot this season. Yeah, yeah, she's good. Yeah. Maggie, she's a great character. And I know that audiences really want to vie for Mickey and Maggie to get together and stuff, but I haven't. You know, she's a really good lawyer, but I haven't really been able to show that. And in this one, she gets very involved in defending Mickey.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes.
Nev Campbell
Yeah.
Tracy Morgan
Good.
Nev Campbell
He's in trouble.
Jimmy Fallon
Okay.
Tracy Morgan
All right.
Jimmy Fallon
We're gonna find all about that. I want to talk about Scream 7. The original Scream came out 30 years ago.
Nev Campbell
Crazy.
Jimmy Fallon
Is that crazy?
Nev Campbell
Isn't that crazy?
Jimmy Fallon
Is it fun to look back and see how much has changed how old I am? No, no, no, no. I mean, just with the movies and
Nev Campbell
all that stuff, it's nuts. I mean, it's so odd to even consider a sequel of a film, but to consider. I mean, there aren't actually that many franchises.
Jimmy Fallon
No.
Nev Campbell
So to think that you actually get to be a part of one and play a character for 30 years is just like, I'm so grateful.
Jimmy Fallon
So when you did this, I mean, like, look at this cast. I know it's you and Drew Barrymore, David Arquette, Courteney Cox.
Nev Campbell
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Skeet Ulrich.
Nev Campbell
Yeah. And at that time, you know, Drew was famous and Courtney was getting there, but the rest of us.
Jimmy Fallon
Was Courtney on Friends?
Nev Campbell
She was on Friends. But first year. And it was first year of Party of Five.
Jimmy Fallon
First year of Party of Five.
Nev Campbell
Yeah. Yeah.
Tracy Morgan
Wow.
Nev Campbell
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
So now you're just all. So Drew is the only one that's kind of like the season.
Nev Campbell
And then all the rest of us were like, maybe this will do something. Maybe not. But we think we're doing something good.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Yeah. Well, the horror movies have been getting a lot of attention recently. You know, Sinners is up for an Oscar.
Yeah.
Incredible weapons. And people say you were the original final girl, which is like, you know. Do you ever think. You and Courtney ever think like, this is it. This is now one of us. One of us is gonna be knocked off.
Nev Campbell
One of the. Gonna go, well, you never know. And, I mean, I can't speak to that. Cause you don't know what happens in this one. Right.
Jimmy Fallon
No, you're right.
Tracy Morgan
No.
Jimmy Fallon
I die. You never know.
Nev Campbell
Someone's gotta go at some point. No, no, I'm not saying. But we don't know.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Do you actually know, though, when you're doing the movie? Do you know?
Nev Campbell
I do.
Jimmy Fallon
You actually do.
Nev Campbell
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Well.
Nev Campbell
Cause I'm often carrying it.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Nev Campbell
Whereas there's cast in it who don't know who the killer is. And sometimes there were even times, I think it was on two or three, that the actors who were playing the killers didn't find out until later in the shooting as well.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, really?
Nev Campbell
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
So you're.
Nev Campbell
I don't know. They try to be really secretive about these movies. Cause people get so excited.
Jimmy Fallon
Has it changed throughout the years? Like the first year you did it
Nev Campbell
was like the first year we did it. Well, that one they weren't too concerned about. But when it hit and got so big, the second one, they started putting these big red lines through all the scripts so no one could, you know, fax it or. Do you remember Fax Machine?
Jimmy Fallon
Fax it. That's so funny. Yes. Oh, no, I do remember.
Tracy Morgan
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Of course.
I love Fax Machine.
Yeah. Yeah.
Nev Campbell
And then the third, they started putting out fake scenes out on the Internet to make sure that no one knew who the killer was going to be. These are a whodunit, you know, they're classic whodunit. You don't want to know who done It.
Jimmy Fallon
No, you don't want to know who done it, but, you know, kind of whodunit. Yeah. In the film, A Scream is basically a love letter to horror, the genre. And in the film, you actually learn about the three rules to surviving a horror movie.
Nev Campbell
Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
Do you remember any of these rules?
Nev Campbell
Jamie Kennedy.
Jimmy Fallon
Jamie Kennedy. Great.
Tracy Morgan
So good.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes. It's classic.
Nev Campbell
It's amazing. We had such good actors in these movies.
Jimmy Fallon
You really did.
Nev Campbell
Matt and Skeet and Jamie and David and the way they carried the humor and just great. But. Yeah. So Randy talks about the roles, and one of them is don't have sex.
Jimmy Fallon
That's correct.
Nev Campbell
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
That's usually when you get murdered.
Nev Campbell
Yep. Don't drink or do drugs.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, that's another one that happens.
Nev Campbell
And never say, I'll be right back.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, that is correct. Anything else you would like to add to that now that you.
Nev Campbell
I think nowadays, for me, it's like, just know where the knives are in the house.
Jimmy Fallon
Smart.
Nev Campbell
Maybe take your chip out of your phone if you don't want people to find you. That's a good one, right?
Jimmy Fallon
It's a great one, actually.
Nev Campbell
And I think the one you always gotta do is run out the door and not up the stairs, which seems really obvious, but it's amazing many of us are still running up.
Jimmy Fallon
Still running up the stairs. Yeah. Isn't it amazing how the phones have changed?
Nev Campbell
Well, that's what I love about these movies, because at the beginning we had the big white one, and then they get slightly smaller, and now it's like
Jimmy Fallon
they're in the house. Yeah, I can hear them. How do we set up what's going on with Scream 7?
Nev Campbell
Well, I can't say too much, but what I can say is fun. About this is a wonderful actress named Isabel May plays my teen daughter in it. And we got to see that Sidney in Five Was a Mother, but they were young. And in this one, you know, it's very brave of Sidney to decide to be a mom and have kids, considering what happens to most of the people she loves. So her greatest fear is that, you know, people will come. That Ghostface will come to her family. And of course, that's what happens. Cause it's a Scream movie. And so in this one, it's, you know, Mama Bear. Mama Bear comes out.
Jimmy Fallon
