And his guest Spencer Wilkins overcomes Devin Castellanjoin's Christopher Briding. And featuring STEVE Legendary Ruth first 2157. And now here he is. Gimmick. That's what I'm talking about. I love you. Enjoy yourself. Welcome, everybody.
Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Tonight Show.
You here. Thank you for watching. Welcome.
Thanks for being here. Well, guys, people are talking about this. President Trump just said that he takes advice from Melania on how to deal with Vladimir Putin. I think the bigger story here is that Trump and Melania actually speak to each other. I didn't. Trump was like, she told me she's an expert on handling delusional. Delusional maniacs. I don't know how she's. Meanwhile, in a new interview, Trump said that he's disappointed in Putin but not done with him. Then the therapist is like, good, Donald. Now put it in the I feel language. Okay, Vlad, anything you'd like to add? Some more political news. Trump is still facing criticism for his handling of the Epstein files. And apparently some Trump supporters are burning their MAGA hats in protest. People are watching the protest like, hey, Randy, maybe you should take the hat off first. Then you don't do it while you're wearing it. Yeah, they're burning the MAGA hats. People in China were like, oh, come on. We worked so hard making this. I'm just saying. Meanwhile, House Republicans just blocked an effort by Democrats to force the release of the Epstein files. As of now, Trump is keeping the information totally classified, AKA in the bathroom at Mar a Lago. Yet the excuses are getting worse and worse. Today, Trump was like, a dog ate the Epstein files. Then people in Ohio ate the dog. Some more political news. Former President Obama is now saying that Democrats who are unhappy under Trump really need to toughen up. Now, we're here now to talk about his comments is the former president himself. Welcome to the show, Mr. President.
Barack Obama
Oh, Jimmy, thanks for having me. Jim Bo. Jim Boparino, Jim Bibbidi, Bobbidi. Boop.
Jimmy Fallon
That's. Let's get right to it. What do you mean when you say Democrats really need to toughen up?
Barack Obama
Oh, well, that's pretty much exactly what I mean. I mean, you know, I'm not just talking about Democratic voters. I'm talking about the Democrats in power. Take Chuck Schumer, for example. I mean, just look at him. I've eaten roast beef at Arby's tougher than this guy. I bet his arms look like two flaccid gogurts. I mean, we expect this guy to be tough. I mean, he has a tough time just keeping his damn glasses on his nose.
Jimmy Fallon
All right, all right. Well, how about Bernie Sanders? He seems tough.
Barack Obama
Bernie Sanders. Bernie Sanders.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, look at him.
Barack Obama
What do you think he can bench, 100, 200 ounces? I'll bet he still exercises with that old timey machine that vibrates your body with a belt. Jump. Jump, jump, jump, jump, jump, jump, jump, jump.
Jimmy Fallon
Look, look, look.
Barack Obama
I'm just saying, we just need much tougher Democrats.
Jimmy Fallon
Well, did you think Joe Biden was tough?
Barack Obama
Oh, come on, now. Look, you know I love Joe, but one time I sneezed and he blew through the Oval Office wall. He made an outline of himself like Wile E. Coyote. Bang. I mean, look, at this point, the man is 90% dust.
Jimmy Fallon
All right, now, what about the younger rising Democrats like Gavin Newsom?
Barack Obama
Oh, Gavin Newsom. Come on.
Jimmy Fallon
Really?
Barack Obama
You think that's tough? A guy who looks like he placed fourth in a Pat Riley lookalike contest? And besides, look, I'm not sure America's ready for a president named Gavin.
Jimmy Fallon
Gavin. Gav. Gavin. Well, then who do you think is tough enough to save the Democrats?
Barack Obama
Well, at this point, you gotta go with. You gotta go with the popular vote. So right now, the frontrunners are Hudda from Love island.
Jimmy Fallon
Or. Or Labub. All right, that's nothing. President Obama, everybody. That's. That's. Well, guys, get this, get this. According to a new report out today, inflation is up because of Trump's tariffs. Yeah. When Trump asked if any numbers went down, his staff said, your approval rating.
What? What? What?
No, he didn't. Yeah, Trump was upset, so to cheer him up, his staff gave him another golden FIFA trophy. And that was nice. Do you guys read this? I read that Trump's new tariffs on Brazil are expected to raise coffee prices. As a result, people have resorted to making tea out of Zyn pouches. This has more of a menthol taste to it. I think you like it. It's not just coffee. I saw that. Trump's tariffs will also cause tomato prices to skyrocket. A lot of people are concerned. So Heinz put out a new commercial to address the situation. Watch this. Heinz wants all our loyal customers to know that as the cost of tomatoes rises, we'll try to keep our prices as low as possible. We're all in this together, Heinz. Oh, that's nice. Yeah. Yeah. Well, here's Another ad, and this one's from Hunt's Ketchup. Check this out. Good news.
Barack Obama
Our prices are staying put.
Jimmy Fallon
Cause Hunt's Ketchup is and has always been tomato free. That's right. We're 0% tomato. 100%.
Barack Obama
Don't worry about it.
Jimmy Fallon
It's still healthier than that hot dog you're putting it on.
Barack Obama
Oh, and fun fact, that little squirt.
Jimmy Fallon
Of ketchup water we invented that hunts. Thanks for buying us by mistake. Aw, that's nice. Yeah, it's nice. It's a good career out of it, Hunt. Hey, this is crazy. I saw that. Bluey is the most streamed show this year at almost 25 billion minutes. That's more than Squid Game. That's more than White Lotus. More than Love Island. It's massive. Tariq, you've ever seen Bluey? Huh? Nah. How about you? Uh, nope. No, I never saw it. Nice. Nice. I mean, I've probably seen part of an episode in passing, like maybe once. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Totally. Yeah, me too. Like in passing or whatever. Like a couple minutes, tops. I don't even remember seeing it exactly. I couldn't even tell you, like, who the characters are. Same, same, same, same, same, same. I bet one of them would be Bluey. Bobby, one has to be named Bluey. Totally, totally, totally.
Barack Obama
And then probably something like Bingo, but.
Jimmy Fallon
Like, I don't know.
Yeah, and maybe like Chili and Bandit. Yeah. And Muffin Socks. Uncle Stripe, Aunt Trixie, Uncle Radley, Aunt Frisky, Grandpa Bob, Mort Cattle Lucky Chucky, Wendy, Judo Doreen, Rusty. Honey, Honey Snickers, Winton Pretzel Pom Pom, Bucky Dunston, Louie. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've never seen it, though. Yeah, me neither. Let's. Let's move on. Guys. Listen to this. The TSA said that excess sweating can set off their security machines and require an additional screening, they added. But it's only a problem if you sweat more than 3.4 ounces.
We have a great show.
He's a Super bowl champion who is now officially a New York giant.
Russell Wilson is here from the cast.
Of the Summer I Turn Pretty. Lola Tung, Gavin Castellano and Christopher Briney are joining us.
Stick around. We'll be right back with more tonight. Joe. Come on back, everybody.
Let's have it. Mr. Onassis. Drop top whips my shiz with the light bulbs.
Kind of like a fight look happening. Welcome back to the show.
Thank you so much for tuning in, guys. I gotta tell you something. I love crackers. I like their Crispiness. I like their breadiness. But most of all, I like to put stuff on them before I pop them in my food hole. That's why it's time for our next game. Put it on a Cracker.
Put it on a cracker.
All right, let's meet tonight's contestants. Come on over.
Welcome. Nice to see you.
Hello. Nice to see you. Welcome to put it on a Cracker, America's second favorite cracker themed game. If you forget the rules, here they are. First, you're gonna put it on a blindfold, which you're holding in your hands. Then you'll start the cracker stacker simply by shouting your name so the system recognizes you. Gently stepping on the foot activated initiator button and then pulling down the lever here. This machine is completely necessary and very easy to use. A series of foods will scroll by and whichever three foods it lands on, you have to eat on a cracker. After you eat the cracker, you must guess what the three foods were on it. You'll earn points for each correct guess. I know. The audience is on the edge of their seats. Each correct guess, the contestant gets to get the most points win. You ready to play? Yes. Ready to play. You're ready to play? All right, contestant number one, you are up first. What is your name and where are you from? Kieran. I'm from Long Island.
Hey, no way. That's what I'm talking about. Come on.
Love Long Island. All right, Karen, you can put on your blindfold right now. Karen. Now, I'd just like to point out that our blindfolds are made out of pre worn Cummerbunds from the 1993 Men's Wearhouse Michael Jordan tuxedo collection. Very Worth a lot of money. Now you're going to activate the slot machine to see what you'll be eating. Remember, say your name loudly, gently. Step on the foot activated initiator button, then pull the lever. Ready? Ready. Set. Go. This is the hard part of the game. Yep. Name? Kieran. Oh, I'm missing it. Nope. You're holding onto the right hand. Oh, to the right hand. No problem. Oh, much better. There you go. All right, Kieran, pull the lever. You got to pull the lever. Of course. There it is. And then you'll pull it, Karen. That's right. There you go. Perfect. All right, here we got that. You can walk away from the machine. It's very expensive. Oh, okay. You're in for a real treat. Let's bring out a cracker with the three ingredients on it. You can taste this way, Kieran. All right. Oh. Ooh. Very, very nice. Hey, buddy, how you doing? Yes, thank you very much. Okay, contestant number one, hold out your hand, please. Now, I just want to remind you, chewing is not required, but is highly recommended. Whenever you're ready, you may eat the cracker. Okay.
Barack Obama
Oh, wow.
Jimmy Fallon
All right. Okay. I'm feeling, like, the pop of the flavor and everything. Pop of the flavor. I like this. Can you guess what three ingredients were on the cracker? All right, I'm sensing seeds, some sort of like a grape, maybe some barbecue sauce. And then, I don't know, maybe some sort of, like, oil and vinegar. Okay, well, possible. Let's check with the Judges. You earned 42 points. Congratulations.
Perfect.
Take off your blindfold, look up to see what you actually ate. Caviar, ketchup, and grapes.
Not bad.
You weren't that far off. Not too bad. Barbecue sauce. Pretty good. Kieran, great job. I like that. You can go over there. Contestant number two, come on over. How you doing?
Good.
Nice to see you. What is your name and where are you from?
Catherine.
And I'm here from Arlington, Texas.
Hey, welcome.
We love Texas. Thank you for being here. All right, Kathryn, please put on your blindfold. Now, before you start up the slot machine, let's take another look at contestant number one. Great. All right, now, contestant number two.
Russell Wilson
You'Re.
Jimmy Fallon
Gonna start the slot machine to see what you'll be. Remember, though, say your name loudly, gently step on the button, and then pull the lever or lever. Oh. Whenever you're ready. Okay, Katherine, that's great. There we go. Very good. Now. All right, now. Oh, gosh. No, no. They're reacting to a different thing. All right, now, wait. Before we bring out the cracker, here's a brief word from the chef who's preparing today's food. Oatmeals. All right, let's oatmeals. Let's bring out a cracker with the three ingredients on it. Here they are, right here. Oh. Hey, look at you. You change something up. You look a little different. I don't think so. Yeah, you. Oh. Oh, sure. Oh. Oh, yeah. I put a sand beard on, so that must be what you're seeing. All right, hold out your hand, please. I'm going to place the cracker there for you. All right, now, before you eat it, here's a small cracker. Fact. The average cracker has nine holes. Just like a small golf course. All right, contestant number two, when you're ready, you may eat the cracker. There you go. Yes. Go for it. Yes. I love that. That's the way to do it. All right. Yep. Okay. Okay. All right. All right. A lot of emotions here. You're feeling a lot of stuff.
Russell Wilson
This is good.
Jimmy Fallon
This is a big cracker. That'd be an average sized cracker, but yes. All right. But it's the things that were on the cracker that I'm asking you two to describe.
Okay.
And what are the three ingredients that were on top of that cracker? What do you think? Cheese. Uh huh. Hot sauce. Yep.
And.
Beef jerky. You're good at this.
It was terrible.
Do you want to name one more thing? You felt like you wanted to name one more thing? I told you, there are only three things up. You want to say one more thing? I do. Which one? I do.
Um.
Go ahead. You might get bonus points.
Barbecue sauce.
Sure. All right, you get 37 points for your guests. Please take off your blindfold and look at the screen to see what you actually ate. It was a hot dog. Jalapeno jelly and starburst. A pink one? Yes, it was a pink starburst. All right, now let's bring back contestant number one. Come on back over here. And now let's see who earned the most points. Whoa. Ladies and gentlemen, this has never happened in the history of Put it on a Cracker. The scores are 42 to 37. And you know what that means. It's a tie. Now, as per the tradition with Put it on a cracker, we will slowly zoom in on each contestant's face, and the winner will be determined by audience applause. Was it contestant number one.
Or was it contestant number two? We have a winner. Contestant to number two. Thank you for playing. That's all the time we have for Put it on a cracker. Stick around. We'll be right back with Russell Wilson, everybody. Come on back. Our first guest is a Super bowl.
Winning quarterback who has been named to 10 NFL Pro Bowls. You can check out his Sports Illustrated digital cover story@si.com, please welcome from the New York Giants, Russell Wilson.
That's Russell Wilson right there.
Come on, guys. One and only. Welcome back. But I always love seeing you. First off, I want to say congrats on your SI cover right there. Come on, that's a big deal. I always bring this up every time I see you, but you were so nice enough to come on our show during COVID We couldn't book anyone. Everyone was scared. We didn't know what to do. We were both in our homes, and you and Sierra zoomed from your. I know. She's the best. And so we're just talking, doing our interview, and my daughter ran in because we're doing it from our home and my daughter lost her tooth.
Russell Wilson
I never forget that. That was wild.
Jimmy Fallon
You do remember?
Russell Wilson
Yeah, Winnie ran in, I think. Was she about seven or eight then?
Jimmy Fallon
Yes. Yeah.
Russell Wilson
Tooth popped out live on the moment, right? Yeah, it was crazy.
Jimmy Fallon
Blood all over the place and just everywhere. Yeah, but you guys are cheering around. You're like, winnie, we're so proud of you. We love you guys forever.
Russell Wilson
I tell Winnie, because she lost her tooth, I brought her a little something.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, you did?
Russell Wilson
I brought her a little gift. I gave it to you backstage, you know, in a little desk area. But just know that I gave her a little three brand. I gave her a little package. Franny too. Franny's not left out.
Jimmy Fallon
Come on, Buzz. You're the best. Yeah, I love you. You're so busy off the field. I mean, let's talk about that. What are these? These are the good men.
Russell Wilson
Those are Goodman brand shoes. I'm actually wearing them too. Yeah, you got the even good man on the bottom there. You look good though. Look at that, right?
Jimmy Fallon
They actually.
Russell Wilson
Yeah, they dress them up. Just matter of fact, me, you and Nance and Steve, we're going to dinner soon.
Jimmy Fallon
Let's do it. If you're in New York. Let's do it. They feel great, by the way.
Russell Wilson
Yeah, it's so cool. I actually launched that company because my dad, my dad, ultimate good man, he, he served, he cared, he gave back.
Jimmy Fallon
That's the best.
Russell Wilson
And to me, I felt like men's fashion is like basketball, right? We got Steph Curry range, the suit and tie, blue suit, white shirt. We can all do it. Fat, tall, wide, doesn't matter. Old, young, right? We can all do that, right? Then there's like the layup line, right? You can. Nike shorts, Nike shirt, Nike socks, Nike shoes. That's the layup line. And then there's that mid range game. And before I met C, I was single and I'm like, okay, well, I got to build my mid range game. If I'm trying to date a girl way out of my league, I gotta level up my dress game. No pun intended. And sure enough, that's how it all started. And so it's been really cool because I really want to be the first faith based shoe brand, luxury shoe brand, seven day a week wear for men. And so it's been cool.
Jimmy Fallon
That's. Dude, I love it.
Russell Wilson
That's good, man.
Jimmy Fallon
You're great. But I love it and then three brand is a kids line. Yeah.
Russell Wilson
So it's been an amazing journey. It's so funny because Sierra, she was the day before she had win, her stomach was out here and future runs across the room. He's got a heather gray shirt on and I'm like, I'm looking at him like, babe, we need to launch a kids line. And she's like, what do you want to call it? I'm like, three brands. Sports, music, fashion, mind, body, soul, three brand, the next generation. It's been an amazing journey for us. I partnered up with the hat dads and also Nike too. It's been an awesome journey. It's been huge for us. We've absolutely crushed it. And it's been a lot of fun too because we're all over the place. All these different retail stores. We're just launching in Dick's sporting goods starting September 1st, 150 plus stores.
Jimmy Fallon
Did you ever think you would do this? I mean, you're like, you're an athlete and you're like, dude, I'm taking it to the next level.
Russell Wilson
Yeah, it's been fun. I think I've always had a business savvy and I just have loved youth. I think for me, you know, that's why we wanted to start the youth line and allow kids to be able to order at any time and go there.
Jimmy Fallon
You also give back, right? Yeah.
Russell Wilson
So there's a big give back component. Like for example, if you go to threebrand.com, you go buy something. Now we give back to charity. So every time we've given about $3 million at this point, two kids, it's been cool.
Jimmy Fallon
It's been cool.
Don't stop. Don't stop being good. You're the best. But now let's talk about on the field. Okay. On the field, you're the new quarterback for the New York Giants.
Come on now that's what I'm talking about. Come on. That's it.
How are you feeling? How does it feel to be a giant, man?
Russell Wilson
It feels giant. Like. No, it's super fun. I'm excited about it. I miss, I love our team. I love the guys that we have, the players, the youth, the hard work that they put. I mean, you know, the cool part is, is this has been my 14th year and I always, you know, as you go on, what you always want to know is, you know, how guys enter the building, how they leave the building. Guys are there early, you know, 5, 30, 6 o' clock in the morning. Guys are ready to work. Guys are leaving late, spending extra time. We got a great receiver core. We got great running backs. That's you, that's you.
Jimmy Fallon
That's Russell Wilson. You show up, Earl. You leave late.
Russell Wilson
But it's cool when, you know, the other guys are already doing that work and they want to win. They want to do all the right things to do that. And I think coach Daboll's done a tremendous job. Guy who's been coach of the year, you know, three years ago. Guy who I believe in, big reason why I came here. And also the organization, you know, the Tish's and The Morrows, in 1925, they started this. I mean, everybody in America loves football, but this is the New York Giants and this is.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, yeah. Come on. But we need to win. Let's go. We need a win. We had a rough couple last couple seasons.
Russell Wilson
Yeah, we all need a win.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly. And I was gonna ask you how your kids are. I know Sienna just turned eight.
Russell Wilson
Yeah, she just turned eight.
Jimmy Fallon
And you had an awesome. You had a Wicked themed birthday party.
Russell Wilson
We have the coolest birthday parties. That's Sienna. I'm telling you guys, she's probably gonna run for president one day. I don't know.
Jimmy Fallon
You think she's gonna run for president?
Russell Wilson
She is the boss lady. She runs the show. Sierra runs the show. And she gets it from her mama. And it's fun, though. But Sienna, she's a special girl, man. She's confident as can be.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. And loves Wicked.
Russell Wilson
Oh, yeah, she loves Wicked. She loves the movie.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. And here's you. You're dressing the part as well as Fierro there.
Russell Wilson
Handsome looking.
Jimmy Fallon
Looking good.
Russell Wilson
What's funny was I was like. I was like, I don't really know any of the characters yet. So I was like, I started googling and trying to find the characters, and I found him handsome, of course. And then I said, you know, let me cut a jean jacket and let me dress up as, you know, as him. So that's cool.
Jimmy Fallon
You did it. You rocked it out right there. Yeah. And then actually, the coolest thing you did was you got Cynthia Erivo to FaceTime Sienna during her party. What are you talking about? That was. She's the best.
Russell Wilson
Cynthia's the best. You know, she's awesome because she had, you know, she had no problem hopping on the FaceTime. Sierra and her are really, really close. And it was. It was cool. Cause Sienna was like, can you sing to me now? And she just hopped in right in the song. So that was Cool.
Jimmy Fallon
She's the most. One of the most talented people on earth.
Russell Wilson
It was a good birthday, for sure.
Jimmy Fallon
It was a great birthday. A lot of people might not know this, but you, I think I know you from. Obviously, I've seen you play football, but you're actually a New York Yankee. Yeah. Yeah. No, no, no.
Yay.
Russell Wilson
You can't boo the Yankees.
Jimmy Fallon
Yay.
You can't do that here. Can't boo the Yankees. That's New Yorkers. They do stuff like that. Yeah, that's.
Russell Wilson
We'll have to put the judge on her.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Exactly. No, he was actually. You actually were. You went out, you tried out, and the Yankees trade. They got you.
Russell Wilson
Yeah. So it's been cool. I actually. I mean, New York Yankee.
Jimmy Fallon
Are you still a New York Yankee?
Russell Wilson
Technically, yes. They own my rights, so you never know if they need to turn a mean double play. I got it, you know, but, you know, it was awesome just being. When Cashman called me, he said, russ, I got something to tell you. I'm like, what's that? He said, you're a New York Yankee sign. I'm like, what? Like, this is, like, the coolest experience ever.
Jimmy Fallon
That's crazy. So actually, you actually went and you actually went to bat. This is spring training. You actually. What do you remember? I did not know any of this stuff. What do you remember about getting up to bat?
Russell Wilson
Well, I went to big league spring training. I'm doing bp. I'm feeling great. Just crushing home runs. I feel strong. I'm ready to go. And fast forward, you know, Like, Aaron Boone looks at me. Skip looks at me. He's like, hey, Russ, you're up. I'm like, huh? Okay. All right, let's go. And I was ready to go. I was ready to rock and roll. And he goes, you're batting for Aaron Judge, by the way. I'm like, okay, get him out of here.
Jimmy Fallon
A little pressure, a little pressure. There you go.
Russell Wilson
And so. And so I'm getting ready, and all of a sudden they're like, hey, by the way, they're going to bring in the number one prospect, Max Free, who's pitching for Atlanta Braves now. He pitches for us now, the New York Yankees. And so I'm like, all right, big lefty, 97, 98 mile an hour, lefty, whatever. And so the first pitch, I hack away. I just miss it. You know, anytime you foul it straight back, that's when you know you're on time. Oh, foul straight back. The whole bench is like, ooh. You know, the next Pitch. He throws me this 12 to 6 breaker. And I'm just like, nah, I ain't swinging that. And strike. So it's 02 count. But I have a good bet.
Jimmy Fallon
I have a good bet.
Russell Wilson
I patiently wait. No, down and away. He tries to strike me on it. Next one down and away. And then he threw me high cheese, high fastball. And I just was under it. But it was a good. It was a good time.
Jimmy Fallon
But you swung.
Russell Wilson
Of course. I'm not going down looking. No chance. No chance.
Jimmy Fallon
You got to go out swinging, right? That's what I'm talking about.
Always.
You got to go down swinging. You look good, bud. And then Sports Illustrated, this got a. It's a big honor came out today. This is all about your move to New York. Yeah.
Russell Wilson
Pretty special, man. I'm excited, you know, just to be on Sports Illustrated cover again and just. It's exciting, man. And the whole idea about my mindset and thought process and, you know, going about it and, you know, I think it's, you know, it's such a tremendous honor to be, you know, New York Giants quarterback.
Jimmy Fallon
And you're here in New York, so now you gotta come on the show every other week. Every other week.
You're the best, bud.
I love you, man. Oh, you get to see you, Russell Wilson.
We're rooting for you, pal.
You get to see.
Check out the Sports Illustrated cover story on SI.com. more Tonight show after the break. Stick around, everybody. Come on.
Do it again. I like it. I'm the original.
To your next guests are the stars.
Of the popular series this summer, I Turn Pretty.
Ouch. It returns for its third and final.
Season tomorrow on Prime Video. Everyone, please welcome Lola Tung, Gavin Castellano, Christopher Rimey.
Oh, my God. Yeah. They love you. Come on.
You gotta feel the love right now. They all love you. Come on.
Lola Tung
So cool.
Jimmy Fallon
Lola, Gavin. Chris, welcome. Thank you for being here. The third and final season of the summer, I Turn Pretty. It premieres tomorrow. Has it sunken in? Has it hit that this is the final season yet?
Lola Tung
I feel like it won't sink in until it's, like, out. And then people are rewatching it. And then you're like, oh, wait, I can't believe that, you know, that was. We did this so long ago.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, I can't believe that happened. You know, it's super delayed.
Lola Tung
I feel like you work on something for so long and you convince yourself that you're doing it for yourself, like, while you're making it. Cause it's so contained and especially this season, it was very secretive, you know, and then you have to remind yourself that people are gonna watch it and have opinions. And so.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, yeah. Oh, everyone has opinions. And. Oh, trust me, just in our office, everyone's like, yeah. Do you pay attention to those fan theories at all?
Gavin Castellano
I mean, we see him for sure, which is. It's fun to sort of get to see how excited everybody is, but I don't know.
Lola Tung
Yeah, I typically don't, like, see a whole lot of theories and things like.
Jimmy Fallon
That, but my mom. My mom.
Lola Tung
My mom, she'll call me and we'll talk about stuff happening in the week, and I'll update her, and then all of a sudden, she'll be like, okay, but I heard this, and did you hear what they're saying about you on this? And I'm like, mom, I don't need.
Russell Wilson
To hear any of that.
Lola Tung
And it's so funny because even when she's like, I don't really tell her if it's correct or not. And so it just kind of leaves her guessing. It's really fun.
Jimmy Fallon
But season two ended with a major cliffhanger. This is a big deal. I mean, your character, Belly, chose Jeremiah over Conrad.
No, you can't. Hey, no, you can't. You can't say that. They're here. They're here.
Gavin Castellano
It was very split. That's good.
Jimmy Fallon
They're here.
Oh, my God, you're so funny. What did you feel about that ending? I.
Gavin Castellano
You know, I'm Team Belly always, which I know.
Jimmy Fallon
Team Belly.
Thank you. Thank you.
Gavin Castellano
I appreciate it.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Gavin Castellano
And I think that I'm all for her following her heart, and she's doing what she needs to do in the moment and following her heart in that moment and in every moment. In every moment.
Jimmy Fallon
But fans are. Fans are very vocal. Do fans come up to you and tell you that they're Team Jeremiah or Team Connor?
Gavin Castellano
Yes, for sure.
Jimmy Fallon
Every day. Every day. Yeah, every day.
Gavin Castellano
Sometimes it's like not even a hi, hello. It's like a by the way, impassive. I'm team whatever.
Jimmy Fallon
By the way. Yeah, by the way. Yeah, yeah.
Lola Tung
Or they'll, like, take the photo and then be like, by the way, I'm team this. And they'll, like, walk away. It's really funny.
Jimmy Fallon
I know a lot of people love that Taylor Swift's music is used along. We love Taylor, too. We're swifties here at the show. I know you're a swiftie. Do you have a favorite song from the show that people always ask you? What favorite Taylor Song.
Gavin Castellano
I mean, there's so many.
Jimmy Fallon
There's so many. By the way, she's so talented.
She is.
Mine changes week to week. What's your current. Ok.
Gavin Castellano
I mean, I feel like the Way I Loved you is a. It's a great one. Delicate's great as well.
Jimmy Fallon
Delicate's my jam. That's your jam right now. That's my jam. I'm into that, and I'm into Last Great American Dynasty. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I love that one. That one I just jam out. I love that show. That's good.
Gavin Castellano
You belong with me. Classic.
Russell Wilson
Oh, my God.
Jimmy Fallon
Come on.
Russell Wilson
Come on.
Jimmy Fallon
Have you met her? Have you met Taylor?
Gavin Castellano
I've never met her officially, but I went to the Eras tour concert with lots of tunes with Jenny Han, who's the creator of our show. And we were. We were right by the stage when she played False God, which was also on the show. And everyone's very excited about that.
Jimmy Fallon
The audience is gonna. We're gonna name, like, 10 other Taylor Swift songs. Keep going.
Gavin Castellano
Just see what's everybody's favorites. But, yeah, so we were right by the stage, and she looked at us and she kind of waved and was like, I love you guys with a little heart. And I nearly passed out, so it was great.
Jimmy Fallon
That's super fun. And when you're doing the show, you guys have to play, you know, brothers. Do you get to. Do you feel like that in real life? Are you.
Lola Tung
There are moments. I think there's moments we love each other and moments we hate each other.
Jimmy Fallon
Let's talk about the moments. You hate each. What happened there?
Lola Tung
No, I mean, we've had our fun, and I think we've taken moments a little too far. Like, there's this moment in our second season where our friend Sean, who's also on the show, he and I stole Gavin's car. We have rental cars over there.
Jimmy Fallon
And he stole his car.
Lola Tung
Yeah, we took his keys. He was in a fitting. We went and took his keys, and then we hit it, and it's a big lot. And we hit it, and then he came out and we were like, I don't know where your car is, man. It's so annoying.
Jimmy Fallon
Did you freak out? Oh, yeah, Yeah.
Lola Tung
I did everything in my power. I pretty much raised hell. I was like, I'm gonna get my car back. Of course I planned.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, we both.
Lola Tung
Yeah, it's a charming quality.
Jimmy Fallon
But we.
Lola Tung
I was, like, trying to go surf. I was, like, trying to meet up with my friends and surf. And then all of a sudden, my car's gone. I'm just like, what? Like, immediately.
Jimmy Fallon
How did you get his keys?
Lola Tung
Was it fitting? We pretended we were coming to say hi, and then Sean distracted and we gave him a hug, and I grabbed it. And then we ran out and we took it. You can't take a bit too far.
Jimmy Fallon
No. You know, but, Gavin, I have a picture of you sitting on top of Chris's car.
Lola Tung
Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
That he couldn't be able to drive. Yeah.
Lola Tung
My thought process was, if I couldn't.
Jimmy Fallon
Go home, then Chris can't go home.
Lola Tung
Like, that's, you know. Yeah, naturally.
Jimmy Fallon
And then you tried to run home. So this is when the bit got.
Lola Tung
Too far and I just was like, you know, what? If I can't go home? I. I need food and I don't have my wallet because it's in the car. Tripping us. This was the bit he was guilt tripping us into giving him his keys back.
Russell Wilson
Yep.
Lola Tung
So I ran as fast as I could to the nearest gas station to get some food and drinks because I was just so thirsty.
Jimmy Fallon
And you guys chased after him saying, hey, dude, enough time.
Lola Tung
Just get in the car. I'm gonna give you your keys back.
Jimmy Fallon
But you videotaped it and you brought the video. I want to show everyone the video.
Russell Wilson
That's great.
Jimmy Fallon
I'm Holland.
Russell Wilson
Kevin.
Jimmy Fallon
Why are we going that fast? Why are we going that fast? I tried to beat them to the gas station. Oh, gotcha. Lola, how do we set up what is happening in this final season? What can the fans expect?
Gavin Castellano
I mean, I think it's a lot more of the emotional rollercoaster you're used to, I guess. And also, you know, there's a little time jump. So we meet the characters in a little bit of a more mature place, I think. And, yeah, I'm very excited for that.
Jimmy Fallon
And is this really the end, or could there be more to the series?
Gavin Castellano
And we're. I mean, it's.
Jimmy Fallon
Would you be open to doing more if there was? They created more.
Lola Tung
It's Jenny's story. I think she has always decided where this story starts and ends. I mean, it's a trilogy of books. So when we were filming our first season, I was always like, I just hope we get to finish the story, you know? Cause if we got canceled after our first season, that's not the whole arc.
Jimmy Fallon
That's.
Lola Tung
That's part of an arc.
Jimmy Fallon
You're beyond not canceled. You're the biggest show on tv. It's a massive. I don't know. Yeah, we love it.
Lola Tung. Gavin Castellano. And Christopher Briney, everyone. Season three of the Turn Pretty premieres tomorrow on Prime Video. Stick around, everybody.
Yeah. I'm the elephant in the room created by Collision of the sun and the Moon.
My name's Teresa Wilson. Lola Tung, Gavin Catalano, Christopher Briney. That's right. And the roots right there for Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Good night, everybody. Thank you. Get it down. Let's get it back. Get involved. Get involved. Get into it. Do it.

Release Date: July 16, 2025
In this engaging episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, host Jimmy Fallon delves into the latest political developments, shares humorous takes on current events, and welcomes a star-studded lineup of guests. Highlights include a candid conversation with former President Barack Obama, a playful game segment featuring NFL star Russell Wilson, and appearances by the cast of the popular series The Summer I Turn Pretty. The episode is rich with humor, insightful commentary, and entertaining interactions that captivate both long-time fans and new listeners alike.
Jimmy Fallon kicks off the show with his trademark witty monologue, addressing the tumultuous state of American politics. He highlights former President Donald Trump's declining approval ratings and the surprising protests where Trump supporters are burning their MAGA hats in defiance.
Jimmy Fallon [01:10]: "Trump is still facing criticism for his handling of the Epstein files. And apparently, some Trump supporters are burning their MAGA hats in protest."
Fallon humorously critiques the dynamic between Trump and his wife Melania, emphasizing their recent public interactions.
Jimmy Fallon [01:20]: "Trump just said that he takes advice from Melania on how to deal with Vladimir Putin. I think the bigger story here is that Trump and Melania actually speak to each other."
He further satirizes the political tensions by mocking Trump's attempts to downplay issues with Vladimir Putin and the ongoing controversies surrounding Epstein's files.
Jimmy Fallon [01:30]: "As of now, Trump is keeping the information totally classified, AKA in the bathroom at Mar-a-Lago. Yet the excuses are getting worse and worse."
The spotlight shifts to a highly anticipated interview with former President Barack Obama, who shares his candid and humorous views on the Democratic Party's current state.
Barack Obama [03:03]: "We just need much tougher Democrats."
Obama humorously critiques key Democratic figures, including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Bernie Sanders, poking fun at their perceived lack of toughness.
Barack Obama [03:30]: "Bernie Sanders. What do you think he can bench, 100, 200 ounces?"
Their lighthearted banter continues as they discuss President Joe Biden's tenure, with Obama delivering playful jabs.
Barack Obama [04:01]: "One time I sneezed and he blew through the Oval Office wall. He made an outline of himself like Wile E. Coyote."
Obama's humorous take underscores his point about the need for stronger Democratic leadership, eliciting laughter from both Fallon and the audience.
Fallon segues into a satirical segment addressing the economic impacts of Trump's tariffs. He mocks the administration's attempts to justify rising prices of everyday items like coffee and tomatoes.
Jimmy Fallon [05:14]: "Trump's new tariffs on Brazil are expected to raise coffee prices. As a result, people have resorted to making tea out of Zyn pouches."
He parodies corporate responses to these economic changes, featuring faux commercials for Heinz and Hunt's Ketchup.
Jimmy Fallon [06:12]: "Heinz wants all our loyal customers to know that as the cost of tomatoes rises, we'll try to keep our prices as low as possible. We're all in this together, Heinz."
Barack Obama [06:14]: "Our prices are staying put."
The playful exchanges highlight the absurdity of the situation, blending humor with sharp political commentary.
In a brief interlude, Fallon discusses the phenomenal success of the animated show Bluey, noting its unprecedented streaming numbers.
Jimmy Fallon [06:26]: "Bluey is the most streamed show this year at almost 25 billion minutes. That's more than Squid Game, White Lotus, and Love Island combined."
The conversation includes light-hearted confusion among guests about the show's characters, adding a relatable and humorous touch.
