Sa.
Jimmy Fallon
Thank you very much. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Enjoy yourself. Enjoy yourself. Welcome, everybody. Welcome to the Tonight Show. Thank you for watching at home, too. Well, guys, everybody's talking about the big Wall Street Journal bombshell that back in May, President Trump was told that his name appears in the Epstein files multiple times. Yep. Trump hasn't felt this panic since he accidentally ate an impossible burger.
Donald Trump
What is this?
Jimmy Fallon
You can tell Trump's nervous cuz he just replaced his Diet Coke button with a Xanax liver. Yeah. Meanwhile, I read that Trump has demanded that his administration stop talking about Jeffrey Epstein in hopes that the scandal will blow over. Yeah. Trump's furious that this is all people can talk about. He was like, this is supposed to.
Donald Trump
Be the summer I turn pretty.
Jimmy Fallon
Thank you. Yep. All people want to talk about is. And Trump doesn't. It's annoying. It's like getting to sit down with Buzz Aldrin and him saying, you can ask me anything except the moon, but this is big. Today, top Justice Department officials met with Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell. Yep. In a statement, Trump's Justice Department said, it's important we get to the bottom of this. Six years too late. No matter what happens in that meeting, it seems like Ghislaine is off the table as a baby name for a while. What else we got? What's. What's the second choice, Jeffrey? The third choice? Donald, you're bad at picking names, man. Well, guys, the House of Representatives just left for vacation until September, and they wrapped up early to avoid voting on releasing the Epstein files. It's pretty interesting. Check out what some lawmakers had to say about it. First up, Congressman Neil Dunn said, I'm not gonna lie, I'm excited for vacation. All this drama is getting old, man. And Congressman John Larson said, did someone say old man? Sorry, I thought you were talking about me. Anyway, once we return, we'll get these things done. Go, team. Then Congressman Doug LaMalfa said, Did somebody say goatee? Sorry, I thought. I thought you were talking about me. Anyway, I read everything that comes across my desk. No skimming, son. And Congressman Trent Kelly said, does somebody say squinting at the sun? Anyway, let's work together. I don't care if you're Team Trump or Team Joe Biden. And Congressman Mike Thompson said, did someone say Temu? Joe Biden? Anyway, this country needs to be saved, not bulldozed. Congressman Jim Baird said, did someone say shave Bulldog? Anyway, if you don't get back to work, it'll be a nightmare. Fool. Congressman Mike Guest said, did somebody say nightmare Fuel. Anyway, I'm freaking ticked. Just being honest, Kay. And Congresswoman Frederica Wilson said, did someone say free ticket to Beyonce? Anyway, I don't want to be rushed, tricked or fed. Bull, what are they telling us? And Congressman Richard Neal said, did someone say crush? Tricked. Red Bulls in a Celsius. Anyway, I'll never stop betting on our vast nation. Sue me. And Congressman Chuck Fleischman said, did someone say regretting the gas station sushi? Anyway, we can't start spinning dangerous tales of mistrust. And Congressman Pat Harrigan said, did someone say sniffing strangers on the bus? Anyway, I hate fighting, so please, no beef. And Congressman Bob Latta said, did someone say no teeth? Anyway, you're on. You're on the other side of the aisle. Come on over. And finally, Congressman Chuck Edwards said, did someone say, come over? They're having trouble. They can't hear. They're having trouble hearing. Wow. Some more political news.
Oh, that was political.
That wasn't. Here's more. Yeah, some more political news. Tomorrow, Trump is flying to Scotland.
Ooh.
To celebrate the opening of his new golf course. It's kind of weird timing for him to leave the country, but he seems excited. Check out this ad they just put out for the course.
Donald Trump
I'm Donald Trump and I'm proud to introduce the brand new McLeod course in Scotland, where you can play world class golf, visit the pro shop, escape your past, change your name, shred your passport, get reconstructive surgery, burn off your fingerprints, fake an accent, and never, never, ever return to the United states. I'm Alastair McWallace and I approve this message.
Jimmy Fallon
No. Wow.
Donald Trump
Never, ever.
Jimmy Fallon
Hey, get this. Former President Biden just sold his memoir for $10 million. Now he just has to remember something, anything. Biden actually has a great title for the book. It's called lol. Guess who Ain't in the Epstein Files. Well, switching gears, I saw that Miller Lite is celebrating its 50th anniversary by offering 50,000 free beers at bars across the country. People are running up to the bar, like, can I get a Budweiser? Oh, it has to be. I get it now. Yep, 50,000 Miller Lights, which is about the number you need to feel anything. And finally, new CDC data shows that the US Birth rate has hit an all time low. One guy heard this and was like, don't blame me. We have a great show. Give it up for the Roots tonight. What a show we have for you tonight. She is an Oscar winning actor who stars in Shakespeare in the park. Production of Twelfth night. Performances begin August 7th. Lupita Nyong' O is here this evening. Shakespeare in the Park. How fun. Plus, he is a multi platinum global music superstar whose new music project mixtape is available right now. J. Balvin is joining us tonight. Legendary. Hey, if you're looking for something to watch this weekend, he didn't ask me to do this and he doesn't even know I am doing this. But I've been watching this. Billy Joel's documentary and so it Goes is on hbo. Max Part two. Have you watched it yet? Yes. It is phenomenal. It is just. He's so funny the way he talks about everything, but everything he's gone through. He's honest. But it shows him, like joining a band, starting a band, Long island and becoming Billy Joel. And it's very, very. He says everything. And I love him. I know him. He has a great. I love his kids, I love his wife. I love him. So if you need something to watch, check out this. Billy Joel's new documentary, Billy Joel and Silly Girls.
It's great.
Love you, Billy. I'm also excited to see Fantastic Four this week.
Oh, yeah.
I'm a huge fan. In fact, I consider myself an excellent.
Really?
Yeah.
Really?
Yes.
Well put. That. You want to put that to some test a little knowledge. To the test.
Oh, what do you mean? Like a little trivia contest?
Yeah. Perhaps you want to have a trivia contest about the Fantastic Four.
Let's do it, bud. Challenge accepted.
Lupita Nyong'o
Right?
Jimmy Fallon
Let's do it.
Oh, yeah. First question. I wrote nobody's in advance.
Yep. Okay. First question. Yep.
Whose outer skin is made of a highly durable rock like substance. Substance.
That's easy. The thing.
No. A 7 11. Taquito. Almost. Almost.
Outer layer.
Outer skin? Yes. Outer layer.
Skin is very crisp.
Yeah. It developed a skin. All right, ready? What is estimated to be worth up to $800,000? $800,000? One item.
What is it, the opening weekend or. No. Or the first comic book?
First comic book of what? Whose first comic book?
Fantastic Four. Wrong. What?
The one Labubu doll you didn't get.
Oh, you got a lot. I bought a lot of them.
You have over a thousand.
They're all the same color.
Okay, ready?
Yes, yes, yes.
J. Balvin
All right.
Jimmy Fallon
Who are Diablo?
These are about Fantastic Four?
Yes, these are about. These questions are about Fantastic Four.
Okay, so I understand what we're doing.
I didn't say the answers were. The questions are ready.
Oh, thank you.
Who are ready?
Yeah.
Who are Diablo, Triton, Blastar and Galactus?
They're all villains.
No, they're all types of cryptocurrency your cousin won't shut up about.
J. Balvin
I bought some Blastar.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, Got some Galactus.
I've been investing in Galactus for the past 10 years.
That in 17.
I'm a trillionaire. Almost. Almost. No, I'm broke. I'm broke. Oh, no. I'm a trillionaire again. No, no, I need money. No, I'm a trillionaire. No, sir.
Okay, ready?
Yep.
This evil force sucks the energy out of entire planets in order to exist. What is it?
Galactus?
No, the guy who shows up at a party with an acoustic guitar.
Ah. Hey there, Delilah. There's something I would say and I. Something I would do.
Yeah, you can see him coming down. Ready? Last one. This is the last one.
You sure?
Yes. This is the last question. This right here.
All right.
Last punch I'm asking to you right now. I don't waste any more time. Ready?
Yes.
Are you ready for this question?
I've never been more ready.
Ready. Name a man who can bend his body and a woman who can disappear.
Mr. Fantastic and Sue Storm.
No. The couple from the Coldplay Kiss. Chaos.
Either way, I'm just checking out this weekend. Stick around. Be right back with more tonight. To everybody. Come on back. Our first guest is an Oscar winning and Tony nominated actor who you can see in Shakespeare in the Park. Production of Twelfth night. Performances begin August 7th and tickets are free for all. Please welcome Lupita Nyong'. O. Welcome back. I always love having you on the show. Thank you so much for coming back. Well, I want to talk about Shakespeare in the Park.
Lupita Nyong'o
Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
What a big deal. This is so fun. I love. I've gone a bunch of times. It's a very New York thing to do and it's free for everybody. But it's Shakespeare. It's a big deal.
Lupita Nyong'o
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
So you're kind of living in New York right now?
Lupita Nyong'o
I'm living in New York. I'm in rehearsal all day. I don't even know. It's summertime. All I experience is AC Yeah, sorry. Yeah, yeah. We're trying to get these Shakespeare lines.
Jimmy Fallon
In and you have a cat now. I know this.
Lupita Nyong'o
I do.
Jimmy Fallon
So congratulations.
Lupita Nyong'o
Thank you very much.
Jimmy Fallon
You're part of your family.
Lupita Nyong'o
Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
This is you. Oh, get ready this is cute. This is your cat Yo Yo.
Lupita Nyong'o
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Hi, bud. Look at me.
Lupita Nyong'o
Adorable.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, he's so cute. And you also brought a picture of you hiking with Yo Yo.
Lupita Nyong'o
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Now, I've never thought you could bring a cat in a hike, but I guess.
Lupita Nyong'o
Well, I just feel bad. Well, I felt bad that, you know, that he'd live his life indoors in la. You know, there's coyotes and things, so you don't want to have them outside. So I bought him this bag, and I was like, maybe let's go for a hike and you could have cat TV from the bag.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, yeah, that's interesting. That's cat tv. He's looking at all this stuff, experiencing all these things. Has he changed? Has he grown? Has he journaled?
Lupita Nyong'o
Well, he's now adjusting to New York. You know, in la, I have a little bit more space, and now he's living in a matchbox. He was not impressed when we first got here at all, at all. By the amount of space.
Jimmy Fallon
Are you. Were you always a cat person?
Lupita Nyong'o
No, not at all. I was very afraid of cats. In fact, I didn't like them. I thought they were evil.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes. I've had that phase in my life, too.
Lupita Nyong'o
Yes. I was very superstitious about them. And then I made this movie called A Quiet Place Day one.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes.
Lupita Nyong'o
And thank you.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Lupita Nyong'o
And I had to work with a cat, and they wouldn't change the animal. And so I had to get over my fear with cats. And then in the process of making the movie, I fell in love with the cat I was working with. And so I got. Yo Yo.
Jimmy Fallon
That's fantastic.
Lupita Nyong'o
Yeah. Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Did you. Do you have any pets growing up?
Lupita Nyong'o
You know, I tried to have pets growing up, but I wasn't very successful.
Jimmy Fallon
Okay.
Lupita Nyong'o
We had guard dogs, and they stayed outside, so they weren't really pets. I tried having a goldfish, but they said I should only feed it once a day. And I ate three times a day.
Jimmy Fallon
So I was like, yeah, but you're not a goldfish.
Lupita Nyong'o
I know. So I kept sneaking at food, and then obviously it died because I fed it too much. And then I tried a hamsters, but the cat next door ate my hamsters. And then I had a little puppy, and then the guard dogs bit the puppy.
Jimmy Fallon
Just bit. He just bit the puppy. Didn't eat the puppy.
Lupita Nyong'o
Well, it did die.
Jimmy Fallon
All right. No, no, Peter, know what? That we have to change the story for the family show people. What?
Lupita Nyong'o
I'm sorry. And then my. I got another puppy. And my. Yeah, I just. Let's Leave it at that.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, let's leave it at that. But I mean, good luck. Yo, yo. We are so. Oh, my goodness. You got this, buddy. You got this, buddy.
Lupita Nyong'o
Well, that's why I got a cat. Because they take care of themselves.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes, exactly.
Lupita Nyong'o
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
He's got a personality, though. He likes when he likes people.
Lupita Nyong'o
He thinks he's a dog. I think he does. Yeah. Because when someone knocks on the door, he runs to the door, he trots to the door, and then someone comes in and he just lays down and exposes his belly and waves his belly.
Jimmy Fallon
That's cute. Come on.
Lupita Nyong'o
Yeah, it's very cute.
Jimmy Fallon
I want to talk about this Shakespeare in the Park. This is Twelfth Night. This is a great cast. Along with you.
Lupita Nyong'o
Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
Sandra. Oh. Peter Dinklage, Jesse Tyler Ferguson. They're all fun people.
Lupita Nyong'o
Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
They're funny people, too.
Lupita Nyong'o
Oh, my God, they are so funny. I don't do a lot of comedy, so being in the room and just laughing all day, I'm wondering how I'm going to keep a straight face when you're finally performing.
Jimmy Fallon
Are you having trouble right now?
Lupita Nyong'o
I am having a lot of trouble, yeah. Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
But you're super fun. Is that what made you want to do this Shakespeare?
Lupita Nyong'o
Yeah. I wanted a chance to be a little lighter, you know, and to have a good time.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, my gosh. You're going to love it. It's unbelievable.
Lupita Nyong'o
Do you have any tips for not breaking. You're probably not the one I usually ask.
Jimmy Fallon
I'm the worst person in the world. You could ask that question. Oh, my God. I'm laughing before you even finish the sentence. But you know what's cool about this? In this, you're. Your character has a twin brother.
Lupita Nyong'o
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
And in this play, it's actually played by your actual brother.
Lupita Nyong'o
My baby brother.
Jimmy Fallon
Your baby brother?
Lupita Nyong'o
Yeah. Junior.
Jimmy Fallon
Junior. So how did you get Junior to do this?
Lupita Nyong'o
I didn't, actually. The director, who happens to be one of my best friends, asked me to play Viola. And then he was the one who was like, I'd like your. What do you think about Junior playing Sebastian? And I was like, he knows Junior. He knows Junior, of course. And so he. I was like, oh, my God, that would be amazing to work with my brother. I've never worked with him before. Uh, yeah. So we called Junior together. Junior didn't know I was on the phone. Sahim broke the news to him that he was offering the part of Sebastian. And he goes, oh, man, that's amazing. Who's gonna play Viola? And I said, it's me.
Jimmy Fallon
That's fantastic.
Lupita Nyong'o
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
And how many is that your only brother? How many?
Lupita Nyong'o
Yeah, I've got one brother and I've got three sisters.
Jimmy Fallon
Three sisters, wow.
Lupita Nyong'o
All older than him.
Jimmy Fallon
Tight family growing up.
Lupita Nyong'o
Very, very tight. And kind of, you know, the tight that it gets menacing.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, yeah, of course. Yeah. You were telling me that Twelfth Night has always been your favorite of Shakespeare.
Lupita Nyong'o
Yes. Because we had a VHS tape of it growing up of some British performance and I watched it over and over and over again. And I just love Twelfth Night is the easiest Shakespeare to understand, I think. And it's so funny. It's so ridiculous, Right?
Jimmy Fallon
Yes.
Lupita Nyong'o
And with all the identity mix ups and whatnot. Yeah. So I just. I absolutely like it.
Jimmy Fallon
I cannot wait to go see you. I won't tell you before I come, I'm just gonna be in the crowd.
Lupita Nyong'o
Please don't, please.
Jimmy Fallon
And I'll be cheering for you. Please don't. I won't tell you. But I'll be laughing.
Lupita Nyong'o
Thank you.
Jimmy Fallon
And rooting you on. You're the best. Congratulations, guys. Lupita Nyong'. O Shakespeare in the park returns with Twelfth Night starting off seventh. We'll be right back with J. Balvin. Stick around, everybody.
The Roots
White doves at my doorstep. What comes around goes around. Like the Vortex competition. I'm on for it. Vortex.
Jimmy Fallon
Our next guest is a multi platinum Grammy nominated artist whose new music project, Mickey is available right now. Please welcome J. Balvin. Go first. No, no, no, no. You're my guest. No, no. How could I when you. 1, 2, 3. Jose, welcome back to the show. But I always love it when you come by, man. You always look good too. You always look fresh and something different and new. Always looking good.
J. Balvin
You wanna invite me to dinner?
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, I do. Yeah.
J. Balvin
Thank you.
Jimmy Fallon
By the way, happy belated birthday.
J. Balvin
Thank you, man.
Jimmy Fallon
Happy, happy birthday.
J. Balvin
Thank you. Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
I have a picture of you celebrating. Look at how good everyone looks. Is you're in Tuscany here.
J. Balvin
Yeah, that's just.
Jimmy Fallon
Look how good everyone looks.
J. Balvin
Montalcino in Italy. Yes, yes, yes, yes. It sounds fancy.
Jimmy Fallon
It really does. It really sounds fancy. And everyone came out for you. That's. That's also nice.
J. Balvin
Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
And celebrate with the fam.
J. Balvin
It's beautiful that they came all the way to, you know, to Italy to celebrate our life.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. 40 is a big year.
J. Balvin
Oh, my God, man. Yeah. But I feel. I feel great. No, I was scared.
Jimmy Fallon
You were?
J. Balvin
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
You're a baby.
J. Balvin
I was scared that when I woke up I wouldn't be like, oh, no.
Jimmy Fallon
No, wait till 50. That's.
J. Balvin
I feel great, man. I can't lie.
Jimmy Fallon
But, dude, you're crushing it. You just wrapped a giant tour this summer. North American tour.
J. Balvin
Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
How did it feel to go out in the US and get all that love?
J. Balvin
Oh, man, it's the best, you know, to give love to the people. It's a beautiful thing.
Jimmy Fallon
I've seen J. Balvin walking the streets in Times Square and just what the joy you bring to people and how people love you and you're nice to everybody. They jump around you, and you're like, yeah, whatever, and you're trying to get to your car.
J. Balvin
And. I'm for the people, man.
Jimmy Fallon
They love you. Yeah.
J. Balvin
You happy? You got it. Thank you. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
I also saw, when you were in Brooklyn at Barclays Center, Ed Sheeran joined you on stage. But this. This made me laugh. Can you tell the story about how the first time you met Ed Sheeran?
J. Balvin
Oh, yes, of course. You know, I was on a. In a hotel, at the gym here in New York, and I saw, like, a guy with the red hair, you know, in front of me on the treadmill. And I told her, it looks like. Like Ed Sheeran. Right. But only I only saw his, you.
Jimmy Fallon
Know, left arm because he's on the tread. He's in front of you?
J. Balvin
Yeah, was in front. And he saw me. He was like, I think that's J. Bobby. So what we did was, like, left arm tattoo, Ed Sheeran, you know. So, like, you Googled his tattoo? Yeah, I'm like, got a tiger. Is that. Is that.
Jimmy Fallon
I think I could.
J. Balvin
Is that a teddy bear on that? And then he was doing the same. He was like, J. Bobbing. Right. Tattoo.
Jimmy Fallon
You both googled each other's tattoos? Yeah.
J. Balvin
So that's when. When he was, like, on the way out from the gym, we were like, ready to say, 1, 2, 3.
Jimmy Fallon
JJ.
J. Balvin
And I was. And we both show each other, like, yo, I was googling your tattoos.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, it's the best, man. You also, like, you do this thing where you'd like to wear a Spider man suit. This is real. You know what I'm talking about? Sorry. So you wear a spider man suit in your.
J. Balvin
It's called Spicerman. Why? I mean, it sounds funny, like, spicy, but is it like, people from Medellin, they call it Spicer.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, yeah.
J. Balvin
So it's Spicerman.
Jimmy Fallon
Spicerman, yeah. Not Spider Man.
J. Balvin
Not Spider Man.
Jimmy Fallon
It's Spiderman.
J. Balvin
Yes.
The Roots
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
And so you wear the Spider man suit and you just walk around your fans.
J. Balvin
Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
And they don't Notice you the whole tour.
J. Balvin
I was doing that every day.
Jimmy Fallon
That's why I love you, man. You're fun. You're crazy. I love it. There's one in Boston where you tried to get into your concert.
J. Balvin
They didn't let me get in.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Dresses as Spicey, man. Yeah.
J. Balvin
You know, they're like, you have to show your face for, you know, security. I'm like, but I'm Spicer, man.
Jimmy Fallon
You can't give away my identity. Exactly.
J. Balvin
You know, I gotta keep it like this. And was like, manly. I gotta save the world.
Jimmy Fallon
But you brought us some video of you doing this. Take a look at this. This is real.
J. Balvin
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Espicer man. Can you photograph on Spicer? No, it's a spider, man.
Where did he go?
Spidey, Spider man.
Gotta go that way.
You don't want to photo with. You don't want to photo with spicy man. I don't want to put it with spicy man.
So dumb.
It's so good, bud. Let's talk about mixtape. Congratulations on this. Thank you. Project.
J. Balvin
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
Jimmy Fallon
Didn't announce anything until a few days. A few days before you released it.
J. Balvin
No, because it's a mixtape. You know, like the old days, you know, like, you just, like go to the streets and sell it.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
J. Balvin
You know, like Times Square.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes.
J. Balvin
At least that was my first, you know, approach to mixtapes when the first time I came to United States, you know, people selling the CVs.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, of course.
J. Balvin
In the streets. Or I started doing the same when I was here. Hustling to make, you know, my reggaeton vegan world. So it gives me that nostalgia. So I'm like, you know, I'm gonna make a mixtape, which is. It's not an album. People count it as an album. But it's a mixtape.
Jimmy Fallon
It's a mixtape.
J. Balvin
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
That's where you started. Don't forget your roots, you know.
J. Balvin
Exactly.
Jimmy Fallon
Is that why you went kind of old school with this kind of iPad type?
J. Balvin
Absolutely, man. Because that kind of be like my. What it should be my playlist mixtape. When I have my first, you know, I remember.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. And the back is. You got this.
J. Balvin
There you go.
Jimmy Fallon
I remember that. You remember that. It's the coolest. Here's my question is because I love this. I had one. My dad has my original one, by the way. He still has it. I gotta find what songs are on there. But if you look at this right here, you have mixtape up here, but then over here is question mark. Why is that question mark? Is that like a file or is it. And then on the front here, look at this. I'm very. I'm a detective. Look at this. One to two. Is it one of two? Is there more stuff? Is there another file that Mike.
J. Balvin
No, I think you. You print the wrong one.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, I printed the wrong one.
J. Balvin
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Sorry about that. Anyway, yeah, so be happy with this one. Yeah. Okay, good. But what song are you going to do tonight for us?
J. Balvin
Oh, man, I'm gonna do a song called Mysterio, which is, to me, it's really beautiful moment because this song is with Gilberto Santa Rosa, which is.
Jimmy Fallon
I cannot believe that he's here.
J. Balvin
Yeah, he's considered, like, one of the biggest legends in salsa, you know. And the fact that, you know, he say yes to me. And to me, it's like, same with, like, your franc Sinatra. That's my franc Sinatra. You know what I'm saying? Like, I grew up with, you know, Gilberto Santa Rosa, and that's, to me, like, one of the most amazing artists and such a gentleman. And the fact that he said yes because he could say no.
Jimmy Fallon
That's true. No, of course, I don't know if anyone would say no to J. Balvin, but.
J. Balvin
Yeah, but also, it's all about the music, you know, if you feel it or not, you know, it doesn't matter. Whoever already sent you a song, you gotta feel it and love it.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
J. Balvin
And I was praying, man, I hope he likes it.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. And he did.
J. Balvin
And he works.
Jimmy Fallon
And it's his first time on the Tonight Show.
J. Balvin
Yes. And that's what makes me more happy than even me being here, honestly. No, because to me, the fact that, you know, the OG have the. We have the platform to show really who he is and that we still got him with us, you know, like, you gotta give respect on the people, what they hear, you know? I'm not saying he's gonna die.
Jimmy Fallon
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
J. Balvin
But no.
Jimmy Fallon
Allegedly.
J. Balvin
Allegedly. You gotta give respect. We gotta give respect. And I don't care if you hide or not. You gotta know who's the one who paid the way for us to be where we are right now.
Jimmy Fallon
That's exactly right. You're the best, buddy. Anytime. I love you, buddy.
J. Balvin
Thank you, Mikey.
Jimmy Fallon
J. Balvin mixtape is available now. Stick around, everybody.
The Roots

[00:05] Jimmy Fallon kicks off the show with his signature humor, diving straight into the recent Wall Street Journal bombshell revealing that President Donald Trump's name appears multiple times in the Jeffrey Epstein files. Fallon quips about Trump's reaction:
"[01:29] Donald Trump: What is this?"
"[01:50] Donald Trump: Be the summer I turn pretty."
He humorously suggests that Trump is trying to divert attention from the scandal, likening his efforts to Buzz Aldrin restricting topics to avoid discussing the moon. Fallon also mocks Trump's reported demand for his administration to cease mentioning Epstein, portraying Trump as frustrated that the scandal dominates conversations.
[01:58] Jimmy Fallon continues with satirical takes on political reactions, featuring a mock segment where various Congressional members respond to the Epstein revelations with puns and wordplay related to their names. For instance:
"Congressman John Larson said, 'Did someone say old man? Sorry, I thought you were talking about me.'"
"Congresswoman Frederica Wilson said, 'Did someone say a free ticket to Beyoncé?'”
Fallon uses these humorous portrayals to underscore the political fatigue surrounding the Epstein case.
[05:08] Jimmy Fallon transitions to a parody advertisement for Trump's new golf course in Scotland:
"[05:25] Donald Trump: ...where you can play world-class golf, visit the pro shop, escape your past, change your name..."
He continues to joke about Trump's penchant for reinvention and avoiding controversies, poking fun at the timing of Trump’s international trip amidst domestic scandals.
Additionally, Fallon delivers quick-fire jokes on topics like Joe Biden's memoir, Miller Lite's 50th anniversary, and the US birth rate hitting an all-time low, blending current events with his unique comedic flair.
[06:00] Lupita Nyong'o joins Fallon to discuss her starring role in "Shakespeare in the Park's" production of Twelfth Night. They delve into her preparations and personal anecdotes:
"[12:55] Lupita Nyong'o: ...that he'd live his life indoors in LA... So I bought him this bag, and I was like, maybe let's go for a hike and you could have cat TV from the bag."
Fallon explores Lupita’s relationship with her cat, Yo Yo, sharing humorous stories about her past struggles with pets and how she overcame her fear of cats during the filming of "A Quiet Place Day One":
"[13:41] Lupita Nyong'o: ...I thought they were evil... And then I fell in love with the cat I was working with."
Their conversation highlights Lupita’s personal life, her tight-knit family, and the excitement surrounding her upcoming performances alongside a stellar cast, including Peter Dinklage and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
In a lighthearted segment, Fallon hosts a Fantastic Four trivia game featuring Lupita and musical guest J Balvin. The game, filled with playful banter and humorous missteps, showcases the guests' personalities:
"[09:50] Jimmy Fallon: Who are Diablo, Triton, Blastar, and Galactus?"
"[09:58] J Balvin: I bought some Blastar. Yeah, Got some Galactus."
Despite the comedic errors, the segment adds an entertaining dynamic to the interview, demonstrating Fallon’s ability to engage guests in fun, interactive content.
[19:26] J Balvin takes center stage to discuss his new mixtape, his recent North American tour, and his unique alter ego, "Spicerman". Fallon praises J Balvin’s vibrant presence and dedication to his fans:
