No, not at all. I was very afraid of cats. In fact, I didn't like them. I thought they were evil.

Yes. I was very superstitious about them. And then I made this movie called A Quiet Place Day one.

Did you. Do you have any pets growing up?

[Lupita Nyong'o]

You know, I tried to have pets growing up, but I wasn't very successful.

We had guard dogs, and they stayed outside, so they weren't really pets. I tried having a goldfish, but they said I should only feed it once a day. And I ate three times a day.

So I was like, yeah, but you're not a goldfish.

I know. So I kept sneaking at food, and then obviously it died because I fed it too much. And then I tried a hamsters, but the cat next door ate my hamsters. And then I had a little puppy, and then the guard dogs bit the puppy.

Just bit. He just bit the puppy. Didn't eat the puppy.

[Lupita Nyong'o]

Well, it did die.

I've never worked with him before. Uh, yeah. So we called Junior together. Junior didn't know I was on the phone. Sahim broke the news to him that he was offering the part of Sebastian. And he goes, oh, man, that's amazing. Who's gonna play Viola? And I said, it's me.

How did it feel to go out in the US and get all that love?

Oh, man, it's the best, you know, to give love to the people. It's a beautiful thing.

I've seen J. Balvin walking the streets in Times Square and just what the joy you bring to people and how people love you and you're nice to everybody. They jump around you, and you're like, yeah, whatever, and you're trying to get to your car.

I also saw, when you were in Brooklyn at Barclays Center, Ed Sheeran joined you on stage. But this. This made me laugh. Can you tell the story about how the first time you met Ed Sheeran?

Oh, yes, of course. You know, I was on a. In a hotel, at the gym here in New York, and I saw, like, a guy with the red hair, you know, in front of me on the treadmill. And I told her, it looks like. Like Ed Sheeran. Right. But only I only saw his, you.

Know, left arm because he's on the tread. He's in front of you?

[J. Balvin]

Yeah, was in front. And he saw me. He was like, I think that's J. Bobby. So what we did was, like, left arm tattoo, Ed Sheeran, you know. So, like, you Googled his tattoo? Yeah, I'm like, got a tiger. Is that. Is that.

I think I could.

[J. Balvin]

Is that a teddy bear on that? And then he was doing the same. He was like, J. Bobbing. Right. Tattoo.

You both googled each other's tattoos? Yeah.

So that's when. When he was, like, on the way out from the gym, we were like, ready to say, 1, 2, 3.

And I was. And we both show each other, like, yo, I was googling your tattoos.

Yeah, it's the best, man. You also, like, you do this thing where you'd like to wear a Spider man suit. This is real. You know what I'm talking about? Sorry. So you wear a spider man suit in your.

It's called Spicerman. Why? I mean, it sounds funny, like, spicy, but is it like, people from Medellin, they call it Spicer.

In the streets. Or I started doing the same when I was here. Hustling to make, you know, my reggaeton vegan world. So it gives me that nostalgia. So I'm like, you know, I'm gonna make a mixtape, which is. It's not an album. People count it as an album. But it's a mixtape.

That's my franc Sinatra. You know what I'm saying? Like, I grew up with, you know, Gilberto Santa Rosa, and that's, to me, like, one of the most amazing artists and such a gentleman. And the fact that he said yes because he could say no.

Yeah, but also, it's all about the music, you know, if you feel it or not, you know, it doesn't matter. Whoever already sent you a song, you gotta feel it and love it.
