Thank you very much. Hey, thank you very much. Welcome, everybody.
Enjoy.
Enjoy yourself.
Enjoy yourself. Enjoy yourself. Welcome, everybody. Welcome to the Tonight Show.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you for watching. Well, guys, I read today was just announced that Sunday's AFC championship between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills was one of the most watched NFL games of all time. Yep, almost 60 million people tuned in for the game on CBS. Plus one guy who accidentally watched on Paramount. That's me. That's right. 60 million people watched the game and they all had the same thought. How many Matthew McConaughey commercials can there be? Yep, the super bowl is set between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, but fans are still upset over what they thought was biased refereeing in favor of the Chiefs. And the refs were already accused of favoring the Chiefs when they played the Texans. Well, for now, more on this, we're joined by one of those refs, Steve Chambers. Steve, welcome to the show. It's great to be here. So what is your take on people saying that you're partial to the Chiefs?
Steve Chambers
It's ridiculous, Jimmy. I call it like I see it. We're doing the best job we can.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, but people are saying this is the second game in a row where you were biased.
Steve Chambers
Look, if the Chiefs are offsides, I call it. If the Eagles have a false start, I call it. If Patrick Mahomes smiles at me, gives me finger guns, I melt into a little puddle. It's all by the book stuff.
Jimmy Fallon
I'm sorry, what. What did you. What did you say there?
Steve Chambers
Uh, did you see how cute he looked on Sunday?
Jimmy Fallon
Wait, are you still talking about Mahomes?
Steve Chambers
Jimmy, the point is, I do not play favorites. Whether I throw a penalty flag or a friendship flag.
Jimmy Fallon
What's a friendship flag?
Steve Chambers
Oh, it's just a special flag that I made for Patrick and me. Not a big deal. It's not like we're as close as him and Travis, you know? I mean, that relationship is so genuine. It's not like they're just friends on the field. It is real, Jimmy.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. Aren't you concerned that this is the kind of thing that makes you look more biased?
Steve Chambers
Jimmy, let me answer the question behind that question. Yes, Patrick smells just as good as you would think.
Jimmy Fallon
No, that's not. That wasn't my question.
Steve Chambers
It's like peaches but manly, if that makes sense.
Jimmy Fallon
All right, let's talk about that controversial first down. Because if you watch it in slow motion.
Steve Chambers
Now, I'm gonna stop you right there, because to me, everything Patrick does is in slow motion. And also in my mind, he's like. He's like walking through a sprinkler. Shawn Mendes is playing.
Jimmy Fallon
You know, I think you should just stop talking.
Steve Chambers
You're right.
Amy Schumer
You're right.
Steve Chambers
I will let my sign do the talking for me.
Jimmy Fallon
Okay. Thank you. An NFL ref, everyone. I don't know what to say. All right, all right. Stop me. All right, all right. Thank you. Well, listen to this. Following President Trump's executive order, Google said that they will change the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America on Google Maps. Now, you can tell they're really sucking up to Trump because today the front page of Google was this. Oh, and get this. Trump said that he wants to repaint Air Force One in power blue instead of its current baby blue. So if you're keeping track, Trump is focused on names and paint colors. He's either president or pregnant. We don't know. You guys see this? X just made a deal with Visa so that you can send money through the app. Russian hackers were like, at least give us challenge. I mean, it's too easy. Some more financial news. Stocks have been up and down this week. It could be the new presidency. It could be interest rates, could be all sorts of things. Let's see if we can break it down now. It's time for a stock watch. First up, McDonald's stock is up because one egg McMuffin now costs $75. I get that. Yeah. Next up, Waffle House stock is up because the January 6th writers are out of prison. Next up, Hormel stock is up because everyone's making five alarm chili for the Super Bowl. Also, Yankee Candle stock is up because everyone is making five alarm chili for the Super Bowl. And finally, Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, and Jose Cuervo. Stocks are up because Buffalo Bills fans. There you have it. It's good to see why they're up and down. Well, everyone, the Grammys are this Sunday and they've been running all kinds of promos to get people excited about the show. Here's one I saw earlier I this.
Amy Schumer
Sunday, it's the 67th annual Grammy Awards featuring Benson Boone, Teddi Swims, Sabrina Carpenter, Charli xcx, Billie Eilish Chapel Roan, and Taylor Swift live from the crypto.com arena on CBS.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, that's pretty standard. That looks good. Can't wait. Pretty standard. They also released another promo aimed specifically at parents. Oh, yeah? Watch this one.
Amy Schumer
This Sunday, it's the 67th annual Grammy Awards featuring Timothee Chalamet Post Malone. The espresso one, the brat one, the one that sang the Barbie song. Dave Chappelle and Taylor Swift live from fake money arena on the channel where you watch Matlock.
Jimmy Fallon
Well, this is while the medical breakthrough dubbed the holy grail of fertility research could allow for a baby to be made by just one person. So it's been real, man. We had a good run. Take care. Bye. Hey, I heard that a recent Delta Airlines flight was canceled after the crew accidentally deployed the emergency slide before takeoff. Meanwhile, Southwest just lets the slide flap in the wind like a loose scarf. We have a great show. Amy Schumer is here tonight. Super funny Joe Keery is joining us. Our first guest is a Tony nominated, an Emmy winning actor and comedian. She co, wrote, produced and stars in the new movie Kinda Pregnant. It streams globally on Netflix February 5th. Everyone please welcome Amy Schumer. Amy, welcome back to the show. What? I mean, standing ovation. Amy.
Amy Schumer
Oh, my gosh.
Jimmy Fallon
They love you. They love you. Thank you. We love you.
Amy Schumer
Thank you. And the roots.
Jimmy Fallon
I'm happy that you're here and I'm happy that you're back on the show.
Amy Schumer
I'm happy to be here.
Jimmy Fallon
Thank you for coming.
Amy Schumer
Do I look sexy enough, though? Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
Fantastic. Ooh, showing a little lit. Yes, that's exactly.
Amy Schumer
I want to bring a sexual energy, you know?
Jimmy Fallon
Yes. You always have it.
Amy Schumer
You had that sexual energy. You're feeling it, right?
Jimmy Fallon
Yes.
Amy Schumer
I'm just so glad that people clapped. You're always like, okay, I haven't been here in a. You know, do they know who I like? Do you just know me from Tampax commercials?
Jimmy Fallon
No, we know who you are.
Amy Schumer
I don't even have a uterus anymore. Did you know that?
Jimmy Fallon
I didn't.
Amy Schumer
I don't have a uterus, but I am the spirit spokes for Tampax.
Jimmy Fallon
All right. Thank you. That's how we. No.
Amy Schumer
What about.
Jimmy Fallon
No, but. No. Just do a little leg. Do a little leg. Okay, good.
Amy Schumer
That makes it okay.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, my gosh.
Amy Schumer
That makes it okay.
Jimmy Fallon
You guys get recognized all the time, though.
Amy Schumer
I do, and I'm so pathetic. Like, it means so much to me, you know, like, people are like, oh, sorry. And I'm like, no, no, no, no, no. Thank you. And I get in engagement photo shoots, any opportunity, but people come up to me. And even though 100% of the time they are sure that I'm Melissa McCarthy.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Amy Schumer
Or rebel Wilson.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Amy Schumer
And I should be so lucky. Those are beautiful women. Of course, I don't correct them. I just go, yeah. Bridesmaids totally changed my life.
Thank you.
But you know people. I'm sure you've had this where they'll say hurtful things to you by accident.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, yeah.
Amy Schumer
Yeah. Like, when they're asking for a picture, they'll be like, hi, sorry. I know you just worked out. And I'm like, no, I didn't. You know, I just.
Jimmy Fallon
Like a little Dewey.
Amy Schumer
Yeah. Like, I had some ramen and it was a little out of kick, so I'm sweating.
Jimmy Fallon
I know you just worked out.
Amy Schumer
Or, like, they'll be like, I know you're not wearing makeup. I'm like, I'm wearing a lot of makeup.
Jimmy Fallon
You know, I know you had a very busy week because we actually got to see each other, which is really fun. We went to a dinner together a few days ago.
Amy Schumer
We had an amazing time.
Jimmy Fallon
It was fantastic, by the way. I knew that you were gonna be there, and I heard that Sandler was gonna be there and Chris Rock and then just Ben Stiller was there. Helena Christensen was there. Judd Apatow was there.
Amy Schumer
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
It got out of control.
Amy Schumer
It was crazy. It was like a. You know, it was like a Make a wish dinner with. Can I say that? Is that a sympathetic thing to say? No, but it was like, you know, comedian heroes. And we're all sitting around and everyone was doing bits, and you had the. Everybody was rolling. You know, we're all laughing and then. And I had a couple good ones. I was kind of, you know, patting myself on the back. And then you were really killing. And then I kind of took the floor back, you know, and I, like, eyed a story and, like. And it flatlined, you know, like, it just bombed in front of, like, all my comments. And you were so sweet. Like, you gave the. Like.
Jimmy Fallon
Ah.
Amy Schumer
You know, you tried to.
Jimmy Fallon
I did not. You did not bomb.
Amy Schumer
Yes, I did.
Jimmy Fallon
No, you did not. You crushed. You were actually. I wanna tell you how great you are at a dinner party. Cause I've been lucky enough to be at a couple with you. You're funny. You're engaged with people. You're interested. Even if it's fake, you're interested in me.
Amy Schumer
I'm high.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. No. Is that what it is? Okay. Yeah. And you're very intelligent. Your jokes are so sharp. I go, oh, my gosh. You should Write that all down. You're just saying this. I'm like, hopefully this is in your act.
Amy Schumer
No, you bailed me out.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, no, I did that.
Amy Schumer
I had a big week of seeing famous people.
Jimmy Fallon
You were telling me.
Amy Schumer
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Can you tell everyone the Bradley Cooper.
Amy Schumer
Okay, so. Yes, Bradley Cooper. I ran into Cooper.
Jimmy Fallon
Get ready. Get ready. I know. Ow. Y. That's young.
Amy Schumer
He's an Eagles fan.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, he is.
Amy Schumer
So. So I. I saw him and then, you know, how are you? And he said, you know, I turned. I turned 50 this year. And. And he goes. He goes, you 50? And, like, you know, and I tried to, like. You know, I tried to, like, kind of, like, rec. Yeah. Like, I mean. Cause whatever. I'm 43, but, you know, I'm like, I will be 50, but I'm not 50 yet. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
No, he made a mistake.
Amy Schumer
You know, he's like, yeah, no, I'm not, Bradley. You know, I'm not. But thank you for thinking of me. But look, we all want to be hot. Yeah, I'm sorry. We all want to be hot. If someone's like, Right. I'm sorry. We do. We do. People do go through a lot to be. This is how bad people want to be. Hot people literally run.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes.
Amy Schumer
Run, Jimmy.
Jimmy Fallon
Well, yes. Yes.
Steve Chambers
People do that.
Amy Schumer
Somebody obsessed with me. It's disgusting.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, my God.
Amy Schumer
You're riding a bike to nowhere. To the Wicked soundtrack. It's.
Jimmy Fallon
People wanna be hot.
Amy Schumer
You wanna be hot.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. How is that leg?
Amy Schumer
That leg's gonna be a hit.
Jimmy Fallon
How is your family doing? How is your husband? How's Chris?
Amy Schumer
Well, my late husband. Well, I just call him that. Cause he's never on time.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, my gosh. Jeez, Amy.
Amy Schumer
Sorry about that.
Jimmy Fallon
Is that not.
Amy Schumer
Should I find a different. I should find a different one.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes.
Amy Schumer
But he just, you know. But no, I love him. I married. Chris is his name. He's a rescue, you know, but they all are.
Jimmy Fallon
They all are. Oh, my gosh, that's good.
Amy Schumer
But, you know, I found him. I said, come on, come home. You know, it was a trial, and we made it permanent.
Jimmy Fallon
But, yeah, he did good.
Amy Schumer
But, no, he's great. And we're having fun parenting. It's just, you know, five is a strange age. My son can read now. He can. And it's awful. No, it really is. It's like. Cause we used to just lie to him. You know, we'd be like, uh, oh, that sign. No climbing. You know, and now he's like, that's not what it says, bitch. I'm like.
Jimmy Fallon
Oh, my God. Vegan Reed. Good for him. That's fantastic. Amy, I want to talk about your giant new movie. This is fantastic.
Amy Schumer
Yes, it's giant.
Jimmy Fallon
Congratulations. Yeah, it's hilarious. It's hilarious.
Amy Schumer
It's a big deal.
Jimmy Fallon
It's a great idea. It's called Kinda Pregnant.
Amy Schumer
Kinda?
Jimmy Fallon
Yes. It's a very funny new comedy. Can you tell everyone what it's about?
Amy Schumer
Yes. So my character, because this is not based on reality, this is just a comedy, not about my life. My character, all of her friends are getting pregnant and getting married, and so I wind up kind of faking a pregnancy, and I get kind of trapped into it, and I meet a guy I really like, and so I have to keep up this ruse that I'm pregnant when I'm really not.
Jimmy Fallon
You have a baby bump and I.
Amy Schumer
Have a bump, and you get treated differently because I'm like, oh, my God. You know, pregnant women, everybody gives their seat on the subway. You know, it seems, like, so wonderful that I just kind of get caught.
Jimmy Fallon
In this lie, but it's super, unbelievably funny. It is a great cast as well, by the way. Will Forte. Unbelievable. It's produced by Adam Sandler.
Amy Schumer
Adam Sandler, who's.
Jimmy Fallon
I mean, the greatest. What was it like working with Adam Sandler?
Amy Schumer
He's such a perfectionist. Like, he's like, it's just what you hoped it would be. Cause, I mean, obviously everyone, like, we've all grown up watching all of his movies, and it's like, don't you quote his movies, like, twice a day by accident?
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, of course.
Amy Schumer
You know, condition or is better. Like, you just. It just happens every day. I did make a joke to him the other night that I don't know how this is gonna go, but he was just, you know, his family is like, you know, some people. One of the people who've been affected by the wildfires.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes.
Amy Schumer
And, you know, and he's sitting at this dinner with us. He's like, yeah, I just had to grab, like, two shirts and get out of there. And I'm looking at his shirt and I'm like. And you grabbed that one. You know, did you see the Hawaiian? I'm like, is that. That's the one you went with? Cause you gotta make. You gotta make your friends laugh.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, dad. He laughed. He laughed.
Amy Schumer
He laughed.
Jimmy Fallon
He laughed.
Amy Schumer
He's a good. He's a good audience. That's right.
Jimmy Fallon
Right there. Amy Schumer, everyone. Kinda Pregnant will stream on Netflix globally on February 5th. Joe Keery joins us after the break. Stick around, everyone. Our next guest is a very talented actor and musician whose songs have been streamed over 2 billion times. His new album, the Crux, is available everywhere on April 4th. Please welcome Joe Keery. Welcome back, Joe. What's up, guys? Welcome back, bud. You look good.
Amy Schumer
Thanks for having me.
Jimmy Fallon
Congrats on everything. I gotta get into every single thing here. You're always a great guest. I want to talk about this because there's all these celebrity lookalike contests that are happening right now. They're very popular. There was a Timothee chalamet one that was big. There was a Glen Powell one that was big.
Amy Schumer
It was in both of those. Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. You tried out and didn't get it. Yeah. But there's a Joe Keery lookalike contest.
Amy Schumer
Yep.
Jimmy Fallon
And then these guys came in a tie. Troy and Max. Congratulations. Not bad. What do you feel? Did your phone blow up when you see.
Amy Schumer
Well, I'm happy for him. I was third. I was.
Jimmy Fallon
You were third? Well, you tried. Yeah. Yeah. But you don't quite look like you, so that's a bummer. Yeah.
Amy Schumer
I got a gift card, like a $5 gift card to, like, an Arby's or something.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. What do they. Do they win something?
Amy Schumer
I don't know. They must win something. You would imagine that they do win.
Jimmy Fallon
Something, but now they're on the Tonight show, so that's kind of a good prize. Congratulations. You're a good guy to look like. I want to talk about stranger things because obviously this is the fifth. This is the final season. You wrapped in December.
Amy Schumer
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Joe, what does it feel like?
Amy Schumer
It's crazy. Really? Really. It was a long year, so we shot for about a year, and it was while I was working on all this stuff, but to wrap it all up and kind of, you know, the anticipation of working on something for so long, I mean, it's been a one third of my life, really. So it was a. Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
It was the skin and all, or it was just like, work, work. And then you go, hey, wait, it's over.
Amy Schumer
Kinda. I mean. Yeah, we sort of, like, got to that last day, and it was like everything really hit on that last day of shooting. And then I stuck around and, you know, watched the other cast members rap. And it was just emotional and great. And, you know, those people are family for life for me. Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah. It's just so wild. You were saying backstage that if someone didn't cast you as Steve.
Amy Schumer
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
This whole chunk of your life wouldn't have happened.
Amy Schumer
Definitely not no, so it's a really.
Jimmy Fallon
You're very humble and grateful, and that's one of the reasons I like you. Yeah.
Amy Schumer
Great.
Jimmy Fallon
Well, congrats on that and come back when we talk about stranger things. But let's talk about Joe. This is your. The crux. The crux is the album. Yeah. There you are. That's you hanging out of a window. But here's what I love, because there's so many questions I have about this album cover, the Thousand Easter eggs. But also, I love the. The back of the COVID as well. The album cover. That. That is you hanging out of the window.
Amy Schumer
That was. That was my friend Jake's idea. So thank you, Jake, for letting me hang out the film.
Thank you, Jake.
Jimmy Fallon
You did a lot of work on this. Is there Easter eggs in here, or we'll just have to figure that out ourselves?
Amy Schumer
You could say that there's a lot. I mean, I think, you know, it's.
Jimmy Fallon
Fantastic to look at.
Amy Schumer
It's really. I wanted to. I've done stuff that's kind of, like, minimalistic before, and I just wanted a maximal cover and something that. A theme of the record is one of many. So just having a lot going on and a lot to look at. And I know not everybody's gonna have this vinyl, but when I was a.
Jimmy Fallon
Kid, I was, oh, everyone will have this vinyl.
Amy Schumer
I hope so.
Jimmy Fallon
Everyone will have this vinyl. I cannot wait. The craft. I love a good vinyl, and I love putting on the record and listening to it and then studying the album.
Amy Schumer
Yeah, that's exactly what I love to do. Just turn it over and kind of inspect. Oh, I didn't notice that. Like, there's a tiny little mouse right there that you would never see. I think it's basically just for me. You'll never see it. It's a mouse dressed as the bellman dressed as the bellman. There's a mouse dressed as the bellman.
Jimmy Fallon
But then I like this. There's a shirtless dude up here.
Amy Schumer
That was the stunt coordinator, Gianni.
Jimmy Fallon
Is that right?
Amy Schumer
Yeah, he just took his shirt off. He did.
Jimmy Fallon
As one does.
Amy Schumer
As one does when you're working in Hollywood.
Jimmy Fallon
You recorded here at Electric lady in New York.
Amy Schumer
Yes.
Jimmy Fallon
Doesn't get much better. The Roots. Absolutely. Yeah.
Amy Schumer
They're major history.
Jimmy Fallon
The Roots.
Amy Schumer
Your drum set was at the top of that stairwell, and we'd always go up past it to drink coffee on the roof, and we'd be like, oh, don't touch the drum set.
Jimmy Fallon
It's a question.
Amy Schumer
Very gentle with that drum set.
Jimmy Fallon
Tariq Came a couple times. But he taught me some secrets about electric. Do you know there's water running through it?
Amy Schumer
Really?
Jimmy Fallon
There's like a stream, right, or something?
Amy Schumer
Yeah. No, really?
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
No, for real.
Amy Schumer
Underneath.
Jimmy Fallon
Underneath?
Yeah.
There's a removable thing in the floor and you flip the floor and there's running water underneath.
I swear it's the old. It's called the Mineta Creek.
Amy Schumer
Oh, my God.
Jimmy Fallon
Minetta Creek. Yes.
Amy Schumer
So much history at that place. It's like, who? Every person.
Jimmy Fallon
Jimi Hendrix. I mean, Bowie.
Amy Schumer
Yep. John Lennon. Acdc. Taylor Swift.
Jimmy Fallon
Patti Smith.
Amy Schumer
Patti Smith.
Jimmy Fallon
Joe Keery.
Amy Schumer
Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
Yes, that's right. The Trucks. It's the greatest vibe. Can I. Last time, I think since we talked, you were on the show. Your album decide was out. End of Beginning was your song. Can I just say a couple of things? You can plug your ears if you don't want to hear it. It hit number one on the global Spotify chart. Number one, by the way. It's been streamed. It's been streamed one and a half billion times. It was the sixth most streamed song in world in 2024. In the world.
Amy Schumer
Yeah. Yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
And it has over 60 billion views on TikTok. Joe. Wow. How's it feel?
Amy Schumer
Good.
Jimmy Fallon
That's kind of feel cool, man.
Amy Schumer
Yeah. I mean, it's cool if people listen to the song. It seemed, from what I saw, also, it was really cool that people connected to, like, the message of the song and just kind of reconnecting with your past and visiting a place that really means so much to you. So it doesn't necessarily have to be about that city, but.
Jimmy Fallon
But every time I heard it, I was like, I love this song. It almost felt like a song that I know, and it's just felt comforting to me. I'm like, oh, I love that song so much every time.
Amy Schumer
That's the highest praise you can give me. That's so cool.
Jimmy Fallon
I loved it. I still do. Every time I hear it. I can't. I love it. Now you're doing Coachella. You're doing a big tour. You're gonna go on a global tour with a band called Post Animal.
Amy Schumer
Yeah. My boys.
Jimmy Fallon
And that's your buck.
Amy Schumer
Yeah. Yeah. Those are the guys I came up with in Chicago, and we've been friends forever. And, you know, we worked on music together. And so it's a big full circle moment for me personally to, you know, get to spend this time with them and hit the road and see these places. Yeah, I'm very excited. It's gonna be a dream fulfillment moment.
Jimmy Fallon
I was gonna ask you a question because I know when you started performing, you would perform in this wig and sunglasses.
Amy Schumer
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jimmy Fallon
And I think it's a great look, by the way.
Amy Schumer
That's kind of an amazing.
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah, I like the white jumpsuit. It kind of reminds me of a young Jimmy Fallon there when I was. Looks like we could be in the same.
Amy Schumer
I'm really glad that you brought this up, because I actually. This is like a juicy couture full onesie, right?
Jimmy Fallon
Yes.
Amy Schumer
We're kind of. We were going for more of a workwear thing, but I saw this. This is when you're opening for the Strokes, correct?
Jimmy Fallon
Yeah.
Amy Schumer
And so I knew that we were not gonna do this. I knew we were gonna hang it up, and I thought that I would bring.
Jimmy Fallon
Come on.
Amy Schumer
One of this jumpsuit.
Jimmy Fallon
Does.
This ain't Jimmy.
That's my dude.
Thank God.
Joe Keery the Crux is available everywhere on April 4th.
Amy Schumer
Stick around, everybody.
Jimmy Fallon
See you later, big daddy. My man Momelo.
My thanks to Amy Schumer, Joe Keery.
