This episode is the final day of the “All the Things” series, and it centers on the idea that Jesus is still at work through his people by the power of the Holy Spirit. Dan Wilt reflects on Matthew 28 and Acts 1, emphasizing that believers are called to go, make disciples, and receive power to be witnesses. He frames everyday ministry not as something reserved for a few extraordinary moments, but as a Spirit-led way of life marked by love, humility, and prayer. The heart of the message is that the church can participate in the works of Jesus today by asking simple questions like, “May I pray for you?” The second half of the episode becomes a practical sending. Dan encourages listeners to choose one expression of Jesus’ ministry—such as praying for the sick, encouraging others, caring for the vulnerable, or listening for God’s voice—and practice it faithfully over the next month. He ties this to a larger vision of legacy, where the church passes on a living example of Spirit-filled,...

Good Morning Sower Nation. Today is Wednesday, July 8th in the year of our Lord 2026. I'm Dan Wilt and this is your wake up call Today. Today. Today is our final day in all the things Everyday ministry in the Power of the Spirit. Your Holy Spirit stories have been coming in. Thank you so much. You can still on to seedbed.com holy spiritstories or you can email them in to wakeupcalleedbed.com God has been doing amazing things in me. I know in you throughout this whole series and I'm so grateful we've gotten to share time just considering what it means for Jesus to live in us and continue his ministry through us. Blessings. I am praying for you for those who you serve with, move with as Kingdom people in your church, in your community as you learn to hear the Lord's voice. To live as Kingdom people, to live as people of Pentecost. To live as someone in whom the Spirit dwells and through whom the Spirit ministers in the way of love, the fullness of the heart of Jesus, then leading us to partner with the Holy Spirit in seeing things happen that only the Spirit could do. So I'm grateful for this time and I'm looking forward to sharing with you now. So wake up sleeper. Rise from the dead and Christ will shine on you. Let's pray our prayer of consecration together as we begin today's meeting with Jesus. Jesus, I belong to you. I lift up my heart to you. I set my mind on you. I fix my eyes on you. I offer my body to you as a living sacrifice. Jesus, we belong to you and we're praying in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Our entry is titled Today all the things. You are ready for this and our text is from Acts 1:1:2 just as it was in the beginning. We're also going to read Matthew 28:18 20 and Acts 1, verse 8. Hear the word of the Lord first. Matthew 28:18 20 Then Jesus came to them and said, all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you, and surely I am with you always to the very end of the age. Acts 1:1:2 in my former book Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven. After giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the Apostles he had chosen in Acts 1:8. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you. And you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. The word of the Lord. Consider this. I've always had great admiration for John Wesley. Wesley had a vision of spiritual gifts that was profound and hopeful for his time. He believed that the Holy Spirit was about saving souls, helping believers work out their salvation with fear and trembling, Philippians 2, verse 12, as they moved toward becoming like Jesus in all respects. If anyone believed that Christians were ready to be used by God to love people to life by the power of the Holy Spirit in it was Wesley. He was saddened by the lack of the activity of the gifts of the Spirit in the church. And Howard Schneider writes this in the radical Wesley. Wesley thus believed that if extraordinary gifts of the Spirit had practically vanished in his day, this was because of the fallen state of the church and represented a loss of God's best intent. Yet God's power was still at work, even if hampered by the general coldness or deadness of the Church. Far from dispar the gifts, and despite his reticence concerning so called extraordinary gifts, Wesley valued all gifts and felt that in a truly restored spiritual church, all the gifts would be in evidence. Doing all the things that Jesus did is not only possible, but preferable. We no longer live in a time when words and sermons and wonderful preaching get all the work done. Hear me, we need those things. I love that, and it's even in my gift set. But there's something else that's going on in our time. There is this longing for an encounter with the love of Jesus through his people. And to me it's like, don't even talk about the gifts until we have talked about deeply the way of love, what it means to be transformed by the love of Jesus ourselves, and then to become those through whom the Spirit moves in love. Gentlemen. Humility. I've talked so often about the gifts, the fruits of the Spirit being the context for the gifts of the Spirit to flow, and those are led off with love. Paul will not talk about spiritual gifts without reorienting them to the most beautiful, elegant, most important, most vital way, and it's the way of love. 1 Corinthians 13. I would encourage you, and I'd encourage our church communities to just drink deep of the fountain of the spirits, speaking to us through 1 Corinthians 13 as we consider how we pray for others, how we minister to others, how we encourage others, how we touch the lives of those around us, the work of the kingdom done Jesus way and with peaceful discernment. Matthew 11:30 My yoke is easy, my burden is light is happening around your dinner table. It's happening across the fence in your neighborhood and in times of prayer initiated with our kingdom. Question May I pray for you? So friend, sister, brother, family of God, take a deep breath. Jesus has given you authority and us as the church, the ecclesia to do all the things that he does with him. Matthew 28:18 20 we have received power to be his witnesses. JD Walt a witness is a disciple on fire to be his witnesses from the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:8 Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces in the heavenly realms. We partner with Jesus in undoing the works of the evil. 1:1 John 3:8 and above all overall through all we put on love. Colossians 3:14 May I pray for you. That's all it takes to begin to do all the things that Jesus did along with him in all the ways that we can ask that question and live into its reality. How can we be the love of God to the person right in front of us? That's a beautiful question for us to move into the world with today. That is the on earth part of the prayer that Jesus taught us to pray our Kingdom prayer. Your kingdom come, your will be done here on earth as it's being done in heaven. Matthew 6:10 so blessings as you do all the things that Jesus does with him. You and I are ready for this. So here's our prayer as we conclude our series. Lord Jesus, I am ready and willing to do all the things you do with you. You are the one who is able and I step out in faith in this next year of my life to join with you, partner with you in transforming lives, undoing the works of the evil one, putting on love as I do it all in the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen. Journal Prompts for Today Write down all the things you would like to do with Jesus this year. Pick one to begin with this month and give your all to learning how to step out in faith in that area. And here's our activation and you'll probably want if you have your all the Things journal, you'll want this in hand as you begin to document going forward what God is doing. Keep writing in this journal. Keep filling it with your prayers for people with people he shows you things he's showing you and make it a treasure place for you. One of your private journals where you share life with Jesus today. Take one of the things, of all the things that Jesus does and set your heart to do it with him for the next month. Is that praying for the sick? Practice doing it more often. Is that caring for the poor and the vulnerable? Do it often. Is that hearing God's voice offering words of encouragement or knowledge? Do it often. Is it bringing a gift of encouragement to others? Do it often. Whatever it is the Father wants to do through you, lean in. It's your time. It's his time and it's his work through you and through his entire church in the world. Let's remember that God is moving in beautiful, profound ways everyday. Ministry in the power of the Spirit, all the things. Ministry through his entire church. It doesn't all have to be happening through us for it to be happening. It's happening through all the unique gifts that we have been given for the common good for us all. To one he gives one thing, to one he gives another. But with this heart that we've been learning together in all the things, moving in the way of love, in the way of Jesus, gentle and humble in heart, leading by the Spirit, leading within, we can participate in all the things that Jesus is doing in our generation through his church. And we can leave a legacy of that kind of faith. We can, as a friend says, pass it on. We can pass it on to the generations to come, this legacy of the all the things ministry of Jesus. Well, to conclude, I'd like to lead us in. I know we just did this on Monday, but I'd like to lead us in the Doxology together. Kind of seal all this up. Offer it to Jesus as we offer ourselves to Him. Let's worship with the Doxology. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow. Praise Him, O creatures here below. Praise him above ye heavenly host. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen. Amen. Amen. Well, and by the way, that was hymn 682 in our great Redeemer's Praise. We have a story ahead of us unfolding tomorrow. JD is going to be back with us. I'm so looking forward to that and to worshiping all together as Wake Up Call continues in a new series with jd. We're so grateful for all that's ahead of us and thank you for just leaning in in faith through this entire series. It really has been my joy and privilege to share with you. Keep sending in your Holy spirit stories to seedbed.com Holy SpiritStories we'd love to keep hearing from you what God is doing. All right, let's get our seeds together, and I'll see you on the field for the awakening. I'm Dan. Sam.
Host: Dan Wilt (Seedbed)
Air Date: July 8, 2026
This episode serves as the concluding reflection in the series “All the Things: Everyday Ministry in the Power of the Spirit.” Host Dan Wilt encourages listeners to embrace the fullness of ministry Jesus calls us to, by partnering with the Holy Spirit in practical, love-driven ways. Listeners are reminded of their readiness and authority to do “all the things” Jesus did, both individually and as a church community. Through Scripture, Wesleyan thought, practical invitations, and prayer, the episode inspires an active, Spirit-empowered faith.
The “things” Jesus did—praying for the sick, caring for the poor, offering words of encouragement—are simple and accessible starting points.
Ministry happens “around your dinner table, across the fence in your neighborhood, in times of prayer...” (09:50)
