I'm who It Wears shopping director Bobby Schussler, and today I'm joined by our associate director of special projects, Kristen Nichols and associate shopping editor Audrey Huey to talk all things fall shopping. We're getting into the trends we saw on the fall winter runways this past spring and where to shop them for from faux fur coats to funnel neck jackets. We also discussed the chicest ways to style your outerwear as the weather cools down and what keywords to search when you're looking for new hero pieces. Plus, we're talking about how to style moodier colors, our favorite accessories for fall, and so much more. Consider this your fall shopping guide as you prepare your wardrobe for the change in seasons. It's all coming up on who, what where. Hi Kristen and Audrey. Welcome to the pod. Audrey, this is your first time?
C
Yes, my first time. I'm really excited.
B
Welcome. Well, this is a great first time because, yes, it's September and we're not like quite in fall yet, but it's the perfect time to start prepping those fall wardrobes. And I know you are a shopping expert as well as Kristen, so I want to know all of your shopping tips, everything we need to know about fall trends, everything that our listeners need to prep their wardrobes for fall. Okay, so Kristin, can you, just to start off, give us a little overview of the trends that we saw on the fall winter runways this past Spring.
D
It's funny, because I had to really think back. It feels like so long ago, yet they haven't even really arrived yet. So I was reminiscing on kind of what we saw at Fashion Month, and there were so many great trends. I think one of the most talked about trends on the runways was this resurgence of faux fur and upcycled fur. We saw these really plush outerwear pieces at Altazara right off the bat at New York Fashion Week, and then Milan Fashion Week. There were these really incredible coats at Prada that had these beautiful faux fur collars. And then Misha continued at Miu Miu with these stoles. And so we just saw, like, these furry elements in almost every iteration, whether it was, like, the full coat or an accessory. So I think that that will be a really key trend for fall. And it's actually kind of a surprising one, because we haven't seen that sense of, like, furry and faux fur on the runways in quite some time. So it was kind of shocking, but made a big impact. And then I think another one of the biggest trends was this kind of focus on really feminine fashion codes. So to bring it back to Musha again, Musha, Prada's show notes at Prada, she posed the question, what does femininity mean today? And so I think that was on the mind of a lot of designers, and they were reinterpreting how women are dressing today and maybe how women dressed in the past and kind of bringing those together. So we saw these almost nostalgic nods to femininity. There were lots of slip dresses, bullet bras, car coats, voluminous bows, a lot of satin. The brands that really showcased this in the strongest sense were Prada, Schiaparelli, Fendi, Miu Miu, and Givenchy, just to name a few. But I think that'll make a big impact on how people will be getting dressed this fall. Another trend I loved is this kind of sense of English countryside style. I noticed this at Burberry, where Daniel Lee really hit his stride on the Runway. I think it was his strongest collection to date. And he really leaned into the heritage of Burberry and did it so well. But it wasn't just at Burberry that we saw this kind of like, part equestrian, part rugged sophistication of the countryside. We also saw plaid shirts at twp, riding boots at Max Mara Ferrari Fair Isle sweaters at Altazara. So it's like this countryside escape through fashion. You know, even at Copenhagen Fashion Week, we saw so many plaid shirts I think that that will be a key piece to invest in, to kind of test out the waters of this trend. And then the last one I have is not really a trend, but it's more of a theme we saw at Fashion Week, which was designers really kind of digging back into the archives to. To kind of figure out what makes their brands distinct, reinterpret that today. It's been the year that there have been so many shifts at designer houses. I think the last time I counted, it was upwards of a dozen, probably more. And I think with all the big shifts happening with creative directors, brands are trying to find their voice and how to interpret the distinct voice of those brands today and distill those points of view within the house codes. And I think that the designers who are able to do that most successfully will really kind of like, pave the way and where fashion is headed this year. So very interested to see how that continues to unfold at Fashion Month next season.
B
So excited. Okay, Audrey, any favorites from what Kristin just mentioned or in general for you?
C
I mean, I feel like faux fur definitely was a big one. I feel like I wasn't expecting to love it this much, but I think as someone who usually is wearing, like, a black wool coat, obviously very classic, still very necessary for fall. I'm excited to kind of switch up and, like, choose something a little bit more playful and have that in the rotation too. And then preppy style was all over the runways too. And I feel like that's always a little bit of my personal style anyways. But I'm excited to be seeing, like, the polo dresses and polo shirts and things like that coming back too.
B
I just put in an order for a polo shirt.
D
Same.
B
What? It's so funny. It's so good. We can be twins. Okay, so I want to jump back to the trend you mentioned, femininity we saw throughout the collections. You know, brooches and delicate floral patterns, curve, voluminous shapes. Are we starting to see this trend trickle into the market already? You know, early September? What are you seeing?
D
Yeah, so I think we've definitely seen this since last year, actually. I think we've seen the rise of satin and lace slip skirt, and that's starting to evolve into other iterations, of course, like the doan shorts, where the shorts you, like, couldn't get in your cart even if you wanted to, because they sold out practically immediately, even after they restocked recently. And then I think for fall, we'll see more like slip dresses. The Phoebe Filo dress is kind of the one every fashion girl wants in their closet. But there are so many other versions. So I think that that will continue to be big for fall, and I think a lot of the other elements of femininity will be big as well, but I don't see see them in the fashion space quite yet. I think we're seeing early signs of it. For example, the satin bullet bra is like, maybe not the most wearable, but it already popped up in some editorial shoots. Dua Lipo was wearing the Miu Miu one on the COVID of British Vogue. So interested to see how that'll play out. I think it has street style written all over it. Whether you tap into, like the more editorial bullet bra or maybe just like a satin bra layered underneath something, I think we'll see that a lot this season.
B
Totally. Audrey, what about certain brands or designers that you're going to be leaning towards this fall for this trend?
C
Yeah, I mean, I feel like Prada, Miu Miu and Sandy Liang were like the big three in my mind for a lot of these trends. Sandy Liang, the delicate florals was so much a part of the fall winter Runway and oversized pearl necklaces as well as satin. So I think that that's a great designer to look to. And I feel like in terms of kind of embracing, like, the darker side of it, Dallara pulls in femininity and did in the most recent collection in a really unique, kind of like, vampier leaning way for fall.
B
Love it. Okay, I want to talk about the volume, curve, sculptural shapes. It's one of my favorite trends for fall. How are we seeing it with, you know, jackets, tops, gowns? And where should we be looking to get one of these pieces this fall?
D
Obviously you can go the more, like, editorial approach and have a very dramatic silhouette, but I think it's actually a very easy thing to wear in real life. And I really predict we'll have resurgence of a lot of peplum jackets, tops, hourglass silhouettes this fall. And I think we're already seeing a lot from, like, Libero kind of has some season after season. So I think it's a great brand to look for that's perfected that silhouette and already has that, like, cult following. But there's always a new version each season. Loewe has a lot of beautiful jackets, and then also Hosk's brand, Helsa has a bunch of cool pieces. She has like a strapless top with, you know, kind of hourglass shaped waist. I saw her wearing it dropping her daughter off to her first day of school, and it was just so cute.
B
Love it. So chic. I know. I feel like it can seem intimidating when we're talking about it, but like you just said, like, dropping off at school, like, it can be wearable. So what are some of your styling tips to make these pieces super wearable?
D
I think it's really about emphasizing the shape of the top or jacket and keeping what you're wearing outside of that simple. So really just adding, like, a straight leg jean, a cigarette pant, or a pencil skirt kind of those straight lines just allows that peplum or hourglass silhouette of the top to kind of stand out on its own.
B
So we saw a lot of these moodier looks also, you know, black lace, sheer chiffon, leather, Victorian ruffles. Where do you think this aesthetic shift.
D
Is coming from, just speaking to lace overall, I think it's really connected to that feminine, ladylike aesthetic that we were speaking about. I think lace inherently feels like it's part of a woman's wardrobe. And we really saw so many interpretations of lace on the runways. Whether it was this kind of, like, 80 power suiting at St. Laurent or there were these very bohemian ruffled dresses at Chloe and then at Ferragamo, it was, like, sheer and elegant and then had this sense of Victorian romance at Ralph Lauren. So I think it was kind of like a choose your own adventure when it came to lace, where we just saw it, like, in abundance in a way that we haven't seen in so long. But I'll let Audrey speak to the moodiness a little bit more.
C
Yeah, I mean, I also think that part of it is more and more brands shifting towards, you know, being more sustainable, sourcing a lot of dead stock and vintage materials and upcycling pieces. So one of the shows that I saw it at was Zoe Gustavia, Anna Wallen's fall winter collection. I think it really embodied a lot of those aesthetics. We also kind of, over the past year, saw a shift towards this idea of, like, medieval dressing, which was still on the fall winter runways. I always think of lily rose depths, Nosferatu press tour looks when I think of that kind of style. And it was also big on TikTok, kind of being referred to as, like, medieval weirdcore or bardcore. I think that that's part of where it stems from, at least if this.
B
Isn'T part of your normal style, but you want to, you know, play into this moody look. Where should you shop or where should you kind of, like, test it out first?
C
One of the things that I think in this style really stood out to me is the sheer pieces. One of the easiest ways is like getting a sheer black skirt. And for fall you can sort of pair that with like a black sheer tight and then a turtleneck on top. I also think that you can do a lot of things with vintage leather pieces. So for jackets, I love shopping them on ebay. And some of the search terms that I use are like Wilson's leather or Colebrook and Co Jones New York or just searching for like 90s zip front tie leather jacket. So I think that leather and shape sheer skirts are two really fun ways to kind of engage with those trends.
B
That is a pro shopping tip, giving us the search terms even. Kristen, you mentioned first the resurgence of faux fur. And that's coats or furry stoles, fur collars, bag charms. You know, the list kind of goes on. If you are shopping for a faux fur piece, where would you recommend, like, where should we look for, you know.
D
Upcycled vintage fur, a vintage piece or an upcycled piece? It's really repurposing something that already exists rather than adding something new into the fashion ecosystem. And I think a smart strategy is to look for brands that have a history as experts. I think Fendi is one of the biggest brands to keep in mind. And then more and more there's these newer brands that are really like specialists in upcycling. I may be pronouncing this incorrectly, but there's a brand called Nerija and they have the most beautiful upcycled options. And the styling on the website is impeccable. The pieces look beautiful. I have yet to see them in person. Those are two places I would start.
B
Great. What about you, Audrey?
C
I love the brand Shrimps. It's a London based designer and they're specifically known for their luxury, cruelty free outerwear. So I feel like that's a great place to start. They have a really cute coat called the billy coat. And then, I mean we saw it on a lot of runways. I feel like Prada blue marine, Conner eye were some of my favorites that I would love to buy from. And then again with the keywords on ebay, I feel like searching Penny Lane co. I love a Penny Lane coat. So I think that's one of the ways that I'm gonna incorporate the faux fur into my wardrobe personally this season.
B
Love. Okay, let's continue on the outerwear train. Last season and they're still, obviously still popular and I know will be this season. We saw the barn jacket, like completely Take off. What are some other, you know, singular styles that we think will be top this season? Kristin?
D
So outside of upcycled and faux fur outerwear, as we discussed, I'm still very into suede. I think suede we saw a lot a year ago and specifically with the barn jacket, as you mentioned, but I think we're starting to see kind of like newer suede jacket silhouettes appear. I really love the bomber styles. Brand called Norhamorph is a brand I always look to for their outerwear. They kind of always hit on the biggest trends of the season, and they have a really beautiful style in their collection. And then I've been seeing a lot more westerny fringed suede jackets as well. Ralph Lauren obviously has the most classic versions, but I think that's another way we'll be seeing suede jackets play out for fall.
B
Amazing. Audrey, what about you? Any favorite jacket styles?
C
Yeah, I mean, single breasted trench coats I love. I don't know how I don't have one already. Car coats as well. I think that the drapey, oversized wool coats that I mentioned will be really big too. Funnel neck jackets would be fun too. I feel like that's a little bit of a sportier look, but I really have been loving those. And I know it's not a jacket, but sort of another layer to bring in. Ponchos were so big this summer, and I think it's just going to be even, even bigger going into fall. So I definitely want one of those as well.
B
Yeah, I'm like very into a funnel neck jacket. I think that's my number one. Vince has one coming out that's like a leather funnel neck jacket that's like oversized and burgundy. And I like, cannot stop thinking about it. I'm also like a huge jacket person. So, like, for me, Vince, I love Anina Bing's jackets. I'm looking at my closet right now. Like, do see London Banana Republic, Madewell Coach. These are some of my outerwear staples. Audrey, what are some of your other favorite outerwear brands?
C
Yeah, I mean, I think that Rue Sophie has been top tier for me. I'm loving their outerwear collection. Barber is always really great. The Frankie Shop apc. I really have been seeing a lot of trench coats from Wardrobe NYC that I've been eyeing. And then of course, like, Massimo Duty, I feel like is always doing great with their outerwear selection, as is Mango. And I've been seeing some great options from Uniqlo too.
B
Amazing. Kristin, what about you?
D
As I mentioned, Noor Hamor is a personal favorite. And I also love Nili Lotan. They especially have really great jackets. Another brand that I look to cos has great outerwear. I know Audrey mentioned car coats and they have a really great single breasted car coat right now that I've had my eye on and they also have one in a faux croc version, so I think those are great options. And then I'm actually thinking back right now to kind of like what were my most worn pieces from last year. And I have a piece from by Melina Berger that is like a cashmere drapey kind of coat. That's how I survived New York winters and also a Kate coat. So those are a few other brands that I look to for great outerwear.
B
Yeah, I need to get a Norhomore coat. I think maybe this is my year for that. And also yeah, Koss has like amazing everything right now. They just kind of launched their pre fall collection. It's fantastic. Amazing outerwear pieces and sweaters.
D
The only trick is you have to add it to your cart quickly.
B
I know I have a sweater sitting in my cart from Cost right now and I know it's going to probably be sold out in my size by the time this podcast recording is done, but let's hope not.
E
This episode was brought to you by ebay. Hi everyone, it's Eliza Hubert who What where? Senior fashion editor and I'm back on the pod to discuss my favorite topic whenever the first signs of chillier weather start to show themselves. It's been a hot summer in New York and I for one, am thrilled about the impending arrival of fall when I can toss on a maxi coat or leather bomber jacket and then hide boring comfortable clothes underneath. It's the ultimate hack for lazy dressers like me who still want to appear put together and well dressed this coming fall. I have my eye on two coat types, a non basic trench coat and a cape coat. And fortunately for me, I found both during my last ebay shopping session. If you listen to the podcast regularly, you probably already know that I buy most, if not all of my luxury purchases on ebay. I've been doing so for years, and as such, I have a few tricks for making sure that what I order is exactly as expected when it arrives at my door. Tip number one, which also happens to be the most important one, is to use Authenticity Guarantee, a service on ebay that promises to have have any eligible item checked by a real expert before it's sent your way. Just go to eBay.com, search for your desired item and filter to show only Authenticity Guarantee. I use Authenticity Guarantee specifically for pre Loved and vintage luxury jewelry, watches, designer apparel and handbags. They also offer it for streetwear and sneakers. For now, I'm sticking with designer apparel and particularly coats, but I recommend looking around at all the different categories Categories if you want to get the full Authenticity guarantee experience Back to my coat haul I started my search by looking up lightweight Prada coats, but I didn't just want anything too plain. I already own so many minimalist coats that I love, so I think I'm pretty set in that department. Instead, I sought out a plaid print to 1 check off 2025's plaid trend and 2 try something out that's a little outside of my comfort zone. A louder jacket as opposed to to my usual quiet luxury preference. You can imagine my excitement when I stumbled across just the jacket I've been looking for a knee length silk trench from the Italian brand's fall winter 1997 Runway collection. The pattern is both unique and versatile. Check, check and check. Literally. Before I added it to my cart though, I wanted to explore a few more options, which is how I ended up looking through various vintage Yves Saint Laurent coat options. Options including a gorgeous cape coat from the 1970s that I now can't get out of my head. The coat in question is made of black wool and features a large collar and long draping silhouette, though it certainly leans more formal at first, I love the idea of styling it with vintage jeans, a white T shirt and some ballet flats or low heel slingbacks to get more use out of it. Because it's pre loved, the price is much more reasonable than most vintage YSL outerwear, making it even more tempting for a couple coat lover like myself. Making decisions has never been my strong suit, so I need a bit more time to pick out my favorite of the two finds. In the meantime, shop more of my ebay finds for fall@ebay.com Whowatwear including workhorse handbags and forever timepieces that I meticulously curated just for you and me, of course.
B
Okay, let's switch to colors. I feel like this season in particular we saw so many like vivid saturated shades on the runways. Like a move away from obviously like blacks and although obviously still classic and relevant. Audrey, any favorite color trends of the season?
C
I mean in terms of the bright, vivid colors I feel like bright red, the cobalt, the orange, the purple have been unexpected choices for me as someone who usually loves to like live in all black, but I'm kind of Excited to see the bright, vivid shift that we're having. But obviously, I think classics like burgundy and mahogany and those rich chocolate tones are still going to be really big. We've definitely been seeing it across the board with, like, bags and shoes, so those are a few. As far as TikTok goes, I'm very on TikTok, and I keep seeing people saying that they're predicting grape is going to be big this fall, so I'm definitely curious to see if that'll end up happening.
B
I'm into grape.
C
Yeah.
B
Great. What are some styling tips for incorporating some of these brighter hues into your wardrobe?
C
I prefer to incorporate those kind of colors through my accessories, so I feel like I gravitate more towards shoes and bags, even a pair of tights. Like, I feel like red tights were such a big part of my fall wardrobe last fall, and so I think bringing in some of those brighter colors with just, like, a pair of tights, it's a very easy, accessible way to do that. Also, an LA brand called Brooke Callahan does a lot of pieces in bright, vivid colors, and so I think shopping her dresses, skirts, pants are a good way to bring that kind of bright side of things into your wardrobe, too.
B
Kristin, anything to add?
D
As someone who wears a lot of neutrals, I've been feeling more inspired to add more color into my wardrobe, and I think two brands I've been looking to recently are the Row and Celine. Their collections just have this kind of, like, masterful use of color. And actually, they both have the same stylist, so that makes sense. Brian Molloy. So he's just incredibly talented and really has this way of layering color that makes it fit into a more minimalist wardrobe. At the Row, I feel like you could have maybe, like, a Kelly green sweater and then like, have another sweater layered on top, and you really only see the hint of Kelly green or perhaps like, a hint of a sock underneath a loafer and a hand. And so it's just this, like, very subtle nod to color. And the same tactic was used at the latest Celine show, where it would be maybe, like, a cream sweater with the pop of a red polo underneath. And so for someone who's, like, still kind of, like, baby steps wanting to add color, I think that those ideas are so inspiring.
B
Love it. Yeah. One thing I've been doing recently and want to do more for fall, too, and I feel like I talked about this a lot last year, is, like, obviously, like, draping, you know, the sweater over your shoulders is, like, a Layering piece or to, you know, give your outfit a more directional look. But I'm into it, like, around the waist, so it's like, again, I only wear, like, neutrals, like a white, you know, button up and relax tan trousers or whatever. But then adding, like, a. Whether it's like, a burgundy or a yellow or like, a Kelly green, like, sweater on the waist, I feel like is cool and just an easy way to kind of dip your toe into the color look without doing, like, a full, you know, colorful ensemble.
D
Yeah. Actually, speaking of that, one of my favorite Runway looks that I like, always look back to is a brand called Ora Lee. And they had this. I don't know if it was a cable knit sweater, but some kind of knit in, like, this very soft yellow tied at the waist. And it just adds something that's so cool and nonchalant.
C
I feel like J. Crew's cashmere shop is so good for finding ways to incorporate color, too, like getting a little cardigan or, like, a little V neck sweater and doing that draping that you're talking about. So I feel like I highly recommend checking out their whole cashmere line.
B
Yeah, J. Crew has great knits in, like, every color you could think of. And same with Banana Republic.
D
Mm.
B
Okay, let's switch gears again and talk about accessories. So bags, jewelry, sunglasses, what Kristin is trending this season.
D
So I think unexpected belts are really going to be the accessory of the season. And it wasn't just, like, one way we saw them styled, which is interesting. It's just really about adding a belt and really creative ways. One of the ways that stood out most prominently were these multiple belts that were stacked together. Schiaparelli stands out as the show that, like, really kicked this off, but also Christopher Esber and Jill Sander. And then we also saw a lot of chain belts. Chanel always has incredible chain belts. And then we also saw these at Chloe. And then I think one of the newest belt styles we saw were these kind of, like, sash belts that were tied over either a jacket or a dress. And Saint Laurent and Givenchy executed this in similar ways. There was a lot of, like, color play happening, and I thought those were really fun and editorial, yet wearable. So I think it'll be interesting to see if and how people wear those. And then the other accessory, I'm going to kind of jump ahead to spring 2026.
B
Wow. We're getting Fashion Insider.
D
I know, I know. But we saw Michael Ryder's debut collection for CE in July, and it kind of gave Us like a sense from all the new creative directors starting of like one direction fashion might be headed in the next year. And he really had this sense of like preppy bourgeois style. I know Audrey mentioned the kind of return of preppy. We talked about buying polos, but I think we'll also be seeing this with these printed satin scarves, which have already been a trend that we've seen everyone's wearing like the waist scarf this summer or tying them on the their bags. But he really offered a lot of new ways to style them that were a bit more preppy. Whether it was worn as almost like a shawl around the front of a blazer or tucked underneath the lapel of a blazer, there were just so many ways to style them and so many fun prints and colors. So even though it's a little further off, I think that the fashion set will be taking cues from that. Like they're already in everyone's closet. And I think people are going to find inspiration in how to style them in new ways this fall.
B
Amazing. Audrey, any favorite accessories on your end?
C
Pearl necklaces I feel like are coming back in a big way. But also I've been noticing mother of pearl details on so many things from swimsuits this summer, but I think it's going to trickle into fall. I've been seeing them on a lot of bags. I don't know, it's just a very delicate little touch that I've been appreciating for jewelry. Also lockets, which I'm excited about. I really love a little heart shaped locket and oversized beaded necklaces. And then in terms of bag trends, one bag that I've been seeing all over Brooklyn that might be a little bit more niche is called the Clio bag by Clio Camp. And it's in the silver color specifically, but that's been cool to see kind of a little micro trend around Brooklyn as well as the Echo Slaada Snap bag.
B
Yeah, I feel like silver bags have been seen everywhere.
C
Definitely.
B
Okay, so let's talk about shoes. Audrey, any favorite shoe trends, specific shoe styles, anything? What are your favorites for fall?
C
So fall shoes are my favorite. I feel like it's always a return to the classics. I like to think of it. So I mean, Mary Jane's ballet flats, loafers. I love the Repetto Camille for a ballet flat. The GH Bass Whitney loafers will always be a favorite of mine, will forever be in my closet. I just feel like they're so timeless and easy to style. Gucci also has their Pair of classic brown suede loafers that I love and would love a pair of. And then, I mean, I love a little Ferragamo Vara soft pump. I feel like those always look really cute with tights and a mini skirt and even a turtleneck as, like, a go to outfit formula. And then a couple brands I always find myself coming back to are Camper and Vagabond. So those are two that I'll definitely be keeping an eye out and seeing what they have coming up for fall. And then on the trendier side, I mean, animal prints are going to just keep growing. So I know we've been seeing a lot of cow print. I think we'll see snake, zebra, croc, embossed textures. And in terms of, like, colors, silver flats and cherry red and satin.
D
Love it.
B
Kristin, any favorites?
D
So for fall, if you buy one shoe, I would recommend a pump. I think this fall, we're seeing pumps. Pumps, though, that all kind of have a little bit of a twist. So it's not going to be your classic pump. You're going to be adding something a little bit new and different into your closet. At Prada, they had these, like, antique leather pumps that had, like, a bow, and they kind of almost looked worn, but, like, of course they were cool because they're Prada. And I think this will be a key kind of cult buy for fall. And then we saw satin pumps with these beautiful rosette details at St. Laurent that were really stunning. And then we've seen, like, the peep toe kind of come back for a while, and we're seeing them in these unexpected ways. At Tory Burch, they've done them for a few seasons now, and this season, they had an asymmetric version where the peep toe wasn't in the middle. It was kind of on the side, and it was a little bit of a modern twist that was an editor favorite at Fashion Week and will be in case everyone's wanting to get in their closet this fall.
B
Love also everyone. I'm fully aware that I'm saying love all the time after everything, so just don't come for me. I understand that I'm saying it. I'm aware. Okay. Okay. All right, let's talk about outfit formulas, and, you know, where you can find some of the pieces to create them. And maybe I'll just do, like, two situations. So first, an easy outfit for the office. Audrey, what is an idea that you have?
C
Back to the cashmere sweaters again. Also turtlenecks. I feel like that's a great Base for on top. And then I feel like a knee length skirt you can't go wrong with in just a pair of boots. That's like a go to formula for me. And I think Calvin Klein is always an amazing reference I find for office approved styles. Banana Republic is also. I feel like that's what I did for my first day of work with Huaware. I just walked into Banana Republic and found the most chic little black dress. It was like a knee length boat neck style.
B
I mean everyone knows this if you follow me, but I'm a massive Banana Republic fan. The new collections are crazy.
C
So good.
B
I was in the Hamptons recently and shopping and I was rent all Banana Republic and I got stopped many times and I just had like a kind of like an oversized like short sleeve knit and like white jeans, very designer vibes. Each was under a hundred dollars. Yeah, like I got like stopped for these Banana Republic finds. That's just my side note.
C
Yeah, they're so good. They're really good.
B
Okay, Kristin, outfit formula for the office.

This I'm very into all of the A line midi skirts. Totem has a really beautiful version that's like pleated. There's also one I have my eye on from. Oh, it's from Libero and it's more of like a fluted silhouette and I just love the idea of pairing that with a knit polo top and some kind of a kitten heel. I think it's such a great appropriate outfit that I can't wait to wear.
B
Okay, what about for like dinner, drink situation, like a night out. Audrey, what's your look?
C
I think a faux fur jacket. So excited to wear with a little black dress. I think you just can't go wrong. I feel like I always feel comfortable being out in one. It never fails me with a pair of sheer tights and then either like a closed toe kitten heel or a knee high boot.
B
Love it.
D
Kristin, again going to recommend a skirt. I've been loving kind of the satin lace trim skirts and I've been wearing them all summer. But I think to transition it to fall I would add a really beautiful cashmere knit and heels and just keep it simple.
B
I love that look. I actually I have a newsletter, let me do another plug called Retail therapy that comes out every month. The last Monday of every month actually by the time we're recording this, the last one would have come out. But the first outfit. Yes, it's exactly what you said. It's a satin skirt, lace trim skirt with like an oversized crew neck sweater. Which I just love. I also, I'm actually very into like a V neck sweater and tee this season.
D
Same. We were just talking about that in Slack, about how the V neck is suddenly coming back out of nowhere. But it's kind of the higher V neck, the higher neck for like a T shirt, and then maybe a little lower for the sweater. But it's kind of a little bit more elegant and sophisticated than the V necks of the aughts, perhaps.
B
Totally. Yeah. This brand Soft Goat also has like amazing V neck sweaters.
C
I was just gonna go back to Banana Republic again, honestly, because there's like a classic V neck sweater from them that went viral on TikTok this summer. But it's just a plain black sweater. But it's so good.
B
Okay, so before we go, I want to just, you know, ask specific items for all of our listeners. Like the very key items that are on your wish list. I feel like we've talked about them. Some, like, for me it was like this Vince burgundy funnel neck jacket that actually coach is coming. I just saw it. Actually. It's the Brooklyn bag. Like the iconic viral Brooklyn bag, but in like a distressed leather, which feels really cool. I definitely have my eye on that. But Kristin, what are some specific items you are excited about for the season?
D
Yes. So I wear a lot of jeans. I feel like I probably have like every possible color, but the one I didn't have in my closet until recently were khaki jeans, which I just ordered. Levi's has a great pair that actually just sadly sold out. So I hope that they restock them, but those are great. And there's a lot of other versions. And I. I just think that's like a fresh way to wear denim. It's not, you know, your summer white, but it kind of fits into your fall. And it's not like a darker denim wash. So that I'm very into. And then as I mentioned, a line Midi skirts. Love. I am very into the idea of wearing something in this kind of like forest green, emerald green color. And I just ordered a Ralph Lauren. I have so many Ralph Lauren baseball hats, so I didn't need another one, but saw this green color that was just like so perfect and can't wait to wear it just for like, you know, weekend walks or whatnot. And then I feel like there's a lot of jewelry. Like Dorsey is a brand I always look to for really beautiful kind of like tennis necklaces. And they have a beautiful piece right now that has some of that like emerald stone mixed in and then I just love all things satin. The New York brand Kalmier has the most gorgeous pieces, like a mini dress that's pretty much sold out that I really want. And then they also have a beautiful midi skirt in this kind of, like, cream color and also satin pants. So I've been thinking about all three of those.
B
I love it. Speaking of Kalmier, I feel like. And we talk about this a little bit too, but that brand has also, like, fantastic check or plaid shirts.
D
Yes.
B
I even saw actually great options at Nordstrom, Mango. There's so many great plaid shirts. And that's another one of my items I should have said as well.
D
I'm glad you said that, because that was actually on my shopping list too. I wear button downs all the time, so it feels like a fresh swap for fall.
B
Yeah. This brand Lioness on Nordstrom had, like, a plaid shirt with, like, the white collar, too, which I really liked, and it was under a hundred dollars, so I was into that vibe. Okay, Audrey, what are your favorite items for fall?
C
So, firstly, I have a crazy confession to make, which is that I do not own a pair of jeans. And I know that is insane. So I will be getting a pair of jeans. I just feel like I don't know what to say. I know.
B
I'm speechless.
C
I know it's shocking.
B
Wait, this? We need to do a story on this. I'm slacking you after this because we need to do a story on I do not own a pair of jeans. This is the first pair of jeans I'm buying. That's crazy. Okay, continue.
C
Yeah. I've owned jeans in my lifetime, like, as a kid, but I very much only wear skirts and dresses. But I'm finally on my mission, and I think I'm honestly going to go for a pair of Levi's. Probably either the 501 90s or the 501 curve, so that's definitely top of the wish list. Sorry to shock you guys. And then the oversized, slouchy bags I'm loving. I feel like I'm trying to become a bag lady who has everything I need all in one place. When I'm on the go, I can't be having the tiny bags. Unfortunately for that, I feel like Saint Laurent. Every single oversized, slouchy bag that they do, I'm obsessed. So that's definitely, like, a dream purchase. I think I will also be getting a vintage pair of the Prada sport Mary Janes. I really love those, and they've been on my wish list for a very long time. And then, honestly, probably Hunter rain boots. I feel like they have really had their moment. I mean, they've been iconic for a long time, but this summer they've been everywhere and I think they'll continue to be trending.
B
Well, this was great. Obviously all I ever wanted to do is talk about shopping and so this was fantastic. Thank you both so much for joining me.
C
Thank you for having us. It was so fun.
D
