Welcome to the who what Wear podcast, your direct line to the designers, stylists, beauty experts, editors, and tastemakers who are shaping the ever evolving world of fashion. I'm who it Wears shopping director Bobby Schussler. And today, we're giving you the full download on this year's Met Gala. Just moments after the red carpet arrivals ended on Monday night, I sat down with editorial director Lauren Egertson and c Senior fashion and social media editor Tara Gonzalez to debrief on all of the greatest fashion from the evening. This year's theme was Super Fine Tailoring Black Style, and evening honoring Black style and the history of black dandyism. We saw this play out in many ways, from inventive suiting to references to Andre Leon Talley to a certain sparkling gown that resembled a giant necktie. Today on the show, we're discussing favorite looks, moments, and references, and of course, we're crowning our winners. It's all coming up on who, what, where? Okay. We are sitting down moments after the Met Gala arrivals ended. And when I say moments, Rihanna walked three minutes ago, and we are here recording this. And she looked incredible. It was worth the wait. Obviously have so much to cover, but right off the bat, what are your thoughts?
Tara Gonzalez
I mean, from anyone who maybe doesn't know how it works to cover the Met Gala? We are always waiting on Rihanna, and rightfully so. The Met isn't over until she has appeared. There was definitely a lot of hype circulating her arrival. She was arriving at the hotel in her fresh off The Fall Winter 25 Runway Miu Miu look with her little hat and gray sweater and skirt. We were like, didn't want to speculate, but we were like, is she pregnant? Is she not pregnant? What's happening? We saw a baby bump there, and so that made her arrival just that much sweeter and much more anticipated. So it was very much worth it.
Lauren Egertson
I also feel like it is so Rihanna of her to have two looks, you know, to have that really great Mimi look, like, on the way to the hotel, to then put on her actual look, which was amazing. Of course, she would give us two looks so she can be as late as she wants, in my opinion. And it's always worth drama.
Bobby Schussler
Always.
Tara Gonzalez
Of course. It's the story.
Bobby Schussler
It's the story.
Lauren Egertson
Exactly.
Bobby Schussler
Okay, let's talk about the theme. So the theme was super fine tailoring, black style, and the dress code was tailored for you. So for anyone who's not familiar, let's break down the difference. And I know, Tara, you're kind of the expert here. Like, the difference between the theme and the dress code.
Lauren Egertson
Yeah. So I did go to the Met Gala Costume Institute preview this morning, so I got a first look at the exhibit. So I'm very excited to chat about this. The framework for this exhibit was Inspired by a 2009 book by Monica Miller called Slaves to Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. Great book. And she actually also helped curate and work on this exhibit. But the exhibit itself has over 300 pieces from the early 18th century to now. It features over 40 contemporary black designers, from Pharrell Williams to Virgil Abloh to Grace Wells Bonner, and. And it's broken into 12 sections that break down the idea of dandianism, from presence to cosmopolitanism to heritage. When you look at that exhibit, it's so expansive, and there's so many elements of it. So when they're trying to come up with the dress code, they try to hone in on one specific idea instead of trying to capture the entire essence of the exhibit, which would be quite hard to do. So for this, they honed in on the idea of tailoring, since it is a menswear exhibit. And I thought it was a cool fact that it's the first menswear exhibit the Met Gala has had in over 20 years. Suits are obviously such a key element of the dandy look, and they thought that was a theme that people could execute. And Miller, who wrote the book that I mentioned, she also spoke to Vogue earlier this week, and she said to be a dandy is to dress wisely and well. So if you dress wisely and well and are in, like, a suit or something tailored, then you nail the theme.
Bobby Schussler
Yeah. So what were you expecting attendees to wear with a theme? Like, I know for me, when I first saw It Andre Leantale came to mind, you know, with his individual individuality, just like that art of getting dressed and the suits, the tailoring. So I certainly expected an homage to him, which we saw with Colman Domingo, which we'll get to. But what other kind of brands and designers were you kind of counting on and seeing based on the theme?
Tara Gonzalez
I was definitely excited to see some exuberance around men's styling on the red carpet, which is something that is a bit more rare. So this theme really lended very well to experimentation and adding a bit of camp to reference. Another pass Met Gala theme to menswear styling and tailoring. But beyond that, I think women had a little bit of maybe a tougher time figuring out how they could approach this theme. I think suiting looks amazing on women, but at this sort of like, black and white tie, red carpet, how do you make that feel elevated and elegant as well? We saw so many amazing interpretations. I think Thom Brown is a designer that I was very excited to see dress people for this. He did an amazing job. I really loved Lord's look. Zoe Saldana, Whoopi Goldberg, like, really, it hit the nail on the head for what dandyism is in a very elegant red carpet Met Gala way. And it was just glamorous and pristine. There were so many looks, too, that I was actually kind of bummed that didn't make it from this past fall winter Thom Browne collection. I think he did a lot of very avant garde couture, like, shapes in the fall collection that I kind of was, like, predicting in my nerdy way would come about. I think Whoopi Goldberg, her silhouette was what I was picturing, but also at the same time, all of the looks were just beyond my wildest dreams. They were so amazing.
Bobby Schussler
And Demi Moore's Thom Browne tie look that Brad Goreski styled was also just fantastic. I loved that one.
Tara Gonzalez
So good. We also saw a lot of Louis Vuitton, of course. Louis Vuitton by Pharrell. A lot of Virgil references in the Louis Vuitton world, I think Louis Vuitton tailoring is unmatched. It was a perf fit for this theme. We saw Zendaya Dochi, Sabrina Carpenter, and many more. It was definitely a standout designer on this Met Gala at red carpet.
Bobby Schussler
Yeah, Zendaya was just like perfection, just flawless.
Lauren Egertson
What I did think was fun, too, is that people were saying her look felt like a nod to Diana Ross in the film Mahogany. And I feel like that was really amazing because we also saw Diana Ross on the carpet for the first time in over two decades.
Tara Gonzalez
So crazy.
Bobby Schussler
That was one of my standouts. Like 22 years or something. It was like, amazing. She wore. It was a Nigerian designer, Ugo Mozi, and it had an 18 foot train and it was embroidered with her names of her children and grandchildren. I mean, that's like when you think of the Met, you think of a train like that on the steps. Like, that's a photo that you will remember for years and years, in my opinion.
Lauren Egertson
Totally. And her son, when he was interviewed on the carpet with her, they were like, oh, what's it like to be with your mom? And he's like, she is the Met ball. And I'm like, that's right, she is. This is what we've been missing on the red carpet. Diana Ross.
Tara Gonzalez
We were all like live streaming it and everyone in the office was like.
Lauren Egertson
Ah, like, so cute.
Bobby Schussler
I love that. Tracee Ellis Ross also was amazing in that Marc Jacobs look. For sure.
Tara Gonzalez
Obsessed.
Lauren Egertson
Yes. Also there was a lot of Marc Jacobs that exaggerated silhouettes like Doja Cat, Hannah Taylor. I feel like that was really fun because I think when you think of dandies, you think of having fun with fashion. And when you think about people who have fun with fashion and don't take it too seriously, you think about Marc Jacobs. So I feel like that really made a lot of sense for him to be on the red carpet in such a big way tonight.
Tara Gonzalez
Absolutely. I think when I was thinking through my predictions, it wasn't really on my bingo card. But Tracee Ellis Ross's look was incredible. She pointed out in her interview, like, even just the detailing and the structure of her pants, it came to these four points almost all around. And I would imagine them being able to, like, stand up on their own without the hanger. It was amazing. Her look was definitely one of my favorites of the night.
Bobby Schussler
Any other unexpected frontrunners?
Tara Gonzalez
I love Tracee Ellis Ross, Iowa and Ferragamo with the coral dripping beads and then the leather coat. It was beautiful. I think the styling was so cool. She had these like, sheer gloves. The whole thing was just such a moment. Tara, you have a sweet reference that you mentioned in your live blog, which anyone listening, you need to go read. Basically, it's like an ongoing feed of Tara's mind and she's been working on it all night and it was amazing. But I think she referenced her grandfather. Right, Tara?
Lauren Egertson
Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Which I feel like that was so cool to see. When I was thinking about the exhibit as well, there was a huge part about how dandyism and that culture, family references are so important. I feel like we saw so many, like, personal nods throughout the night to people's history or people saying they were inspired by their father or grandfather or. This look reminds me of the style I grew up around. And I feel like it was so beautiful to see that homage on a red carpet like the Met Gala, because in past Met galas, people are so obsessed with the theme. And this felt like people were obviously, like, trying to nail the theme but also pay homage to their family in a really beautiful way and represent their culture. That I think was so incredible to see.
Tara Gonzalez
Yeah, definitely two people for me also, who I literally didn't think about. No offense to these celebs, but Patrick Schwarzenegger in Balmain, I kind of just pictured him rolling up in a tuxedo and looking amazing, per usual. And then walking in, it was kind of a moment. He had matching pinstripe, just covered the tips of his fingers, gloves with, like, a very scarfy chiffoni. I don't know what the material was, but it was very, like, draped instead of a classic shirt. And it was almost like a little crop. The whole thing, the accessories, all of it. He really went there. And then Monica Barbaro in Dior. It was giving, like, Charles James the hat and just the tulle. I feel like I didn't see tons of that, like, really structured, almost crinoline, like tulle. And I feel like it just. The shape was so amazing and sharp.
Bobby Schussler
I agree with you. I also wanted to note Laura Harrier in Custom Gap Studio, which I thought was really cool and interesting with that tailored jacket and those, like, billowy sleeves and pants. I thought that was really unique, and I love that look also.
Eliza
Ooh.
Tara Gonzalez
And Tessa Thompson in Preble.
Bobby Schussler
Yes.
Tara Gonzalez
Have to give a shout out. Obsessed.
Bobby Schussler
Gorgeous. I also liked Jenny and Chanel. Thought that was great. Very Coco Chanel and the tailoring and the hat. And I love that.
Tara Gonzalez
The whole thing was amazing.
Eliza
This episode was brought to you by ebay. Hi, everyone. It's Eliza again, senior fashion editor here at who, what wear, And I don't know about all of you, but whenever big red carpet moments take place, I always zero in on one thing about the looks. And no, it's not the dresses or suits each attendee is wearing. Rather, it's the jewelry. On fashion's biggest night, especially, celebrities have a tendency to go all out in the diamond department, calling on their jewelry partners to dive into their archives and find rare pieces with shockingly large carat counts. For them to wear. Sure, a recreation of a vintage gown from the 1990s is cool, but what about wearing a 128.54 carat cushion cut diamond from nearly 150 years ago that was worn by a Hollywood icon in one of the most recent lauded films of all time? These days, red carpets are all about the jewelry. As all of the top names in fashion, art, music, sports and film headed to New York City for the annual ball, I did some jewelry appreciating of my own, checking out the pre loved rare and vintage baubles currently available at ebay. My go to for all things fashion related. The options are endless and with ebay authenticity guarantee I can shop confidently knowing that a real expert is checking to ensure my purchases are genuine before they arrive on my doorstep. To kick off my afternoon of perusing, I narrowed down my search to just Elsa Peretti designs for Tiffany and company. There's the bone cuff of course, but the designer's breadth of work for the jewelry house spans far beyond just that one on Trend piece, for example, the bottle necklace is one of my all time favorite jewelry designs and something I've been on the hunt for for years. I stumbled across two options on eBay, one 18 karat yellow gold version with a coral stopper and another that's sterling silver with a malachite green stopper. Both make a bold, cool statement and have the power to instantly make an outfit appear more impressive. Another item I'm eyeing on ebay is an Alhambra necklace by Van Cleef and Arpels. My boyfriend has one with a rose gold chain and carnelian pendant that I've always admired and low key wanted to copy. When I went to search for one, I found the exact same color combination, adding to my temptation to copy and paste his exact necklace into my own jewelry collection. It's such a simple but beautiful piece that makes a subtle but strong impact. Finally, I have my sights set on a diamond pinky ring and found a beautiful yellow gold option with a small round diamond by Cartier that I might need to make mine. I never wear rings, so I want something that's subtle but still feels unique. This ring checks off all my boxes and then some. Bobby Schussler
Okay, who do you think had the most creative take? Did anybody else completely surprise you?
Lauren Egertson
I do feel like I was a little bit surprised by Gigi Hadid's look The story behind it I thought was like, actually really interesting. She was wearing Miu Miu. It was a gold gown. I feel like when I originally saw it really quickly, I was like, okay, I don't know how that's tying into the theme. And in the interview, she got into how she was inspired by Josephine Baker, who was the first black actress to star in a motion picture in the 1950s. And it was a specific reference to a gold dress that she had worn. And that was made by her dressmaker Zelda Waynes, and basically her and her friend Gabrielle Karifa Johnson, who is also a stylist. They basically wanted to pay homage to this black dressmaker who also had the first black owned shop on Broadway in Washington Heights forever ago. That was like a really intricate story with all of these layers and was actually really thoughtful in a way that I think sometimes when you see a really beautiful sparkly gown on the Met Gala red carpet, you're like, oh, they're just wearing a pretty gown. To kind of hear that story was like, oh, actually she thought about this a lot. And I thought that that was really cool to see and hear about.
Tara Gonzalez
I totally agree. I had the same initial reaction. And that's why, especially with this theme, it was really important for us to listen to the inspiration and the stories behind a lot of the looks, because that's where the magic and like the intentionality is. I think for me, Jodie Turner Smith and her Burberry look. I just had imagined so many moments of that with a big coat, with a train that almost feels like a huge gown, but it's very tailored and suiting and has all of those elements into it. And then I actually really loved Hunter Schaefer's Prada look. We didn't see a lot of women specifically take the very on the nose suiting route with it's true three piece suit. She had the little hat, she had a turtleneck, she had a button up, she had a cummerbund with buttons. She had the vest, she had the jacket. Like it was all of it. And she looked gorgeous, like she's never looked more beautiful. And so I love that very literal take when that she was willing to go there.
Bobby Schussler
I also wanted to note Burberry. Cardi B wore Burberry. Also like major Burberry moments and Jodie Turner Smith, which I love. They're just in general, all the references. Her look paid homage to a portrait of the equestrian Selika Lazewski. And the interpretation was breathtaking, in my opinion.
Tara Gonzalez
Yes, it looks like history it was perfect.
Bobby Schussler
Yes.
Lauren Egertson
And then I want to throw another look in there too. Actually, that was also a Colman Domingo look, but it was from earlier this morning at the Met when he did remarks for the exhibit preview. And the reason that this stood out to me was that was like, he, of course, is already dressing on theme, like at 9am hours before he's going to hit the red carpet and stun us all again. He wore a custom suit by Oswald Boatang, who also made colman Domingo and A$AP Rocky suits for the May cover of Vogue. And he's not a household name, but he is somebody that everybody should know. He was the first black designer to ever have a store on Savile Row. And he was the first Black designer at LVMH when he worked at Givenchy from 2003 to 2007. He has three pieces in the Met exhibit. And he made this custom suit for Colman Domingo. And I just thought that it was an incredible suit. He looked amazing. And I just love to see him wearing this designer who has inspired so many designers, black designers especially, and doesn't have household name recognition despite being so iconic. So I thought it was really incredible to see him wear that. And of course, he would just have a whole day of looks kind of like Rihanna. It's like, okay, you guys are giving us Met gala all day, not even on the red carpet.
Bobby Schussler
I love it. Yeah. I also just speaking of references, pre actual red carpet, Dochi's pre Met look, she did a post like that iconic Andre Leon Talley with like the Louis Vuitton trunks and towel and everything. And I just.
Tara Gonzalez
The luggage, it was amazing.
Bobby Schussler
I just like love. That's one of my favorite images. Okay, who else? I kind of spoke about Diana Ross already, but who created some of the most memorable moments of the night. What's going to go viral? What are we going to think about this time next year when we talk about the Met? What do you think?
Tara Gonzalez
For me, visually and just the meaning behind Colman Domingo's look, the first look when he had the blue cape on with all the embroidery, just something we'll be referencing for a really long time. His homage to Andre Leon Talley with the cape moment and then him shedding it and revealing this beautiful, very ornate mixed print, like contrast prints, black and white. Like, the whole suiting moment was just so amazing. And I already thought the cape look was the look. And I was like, blown away by that. So I think having that duality was really exciting. And seeing him on that red carpet the little floral red carpet was everything.
Bobby Schussler
Amazing. Yeah. We had the stylist Waymond and Micah on the pod yesterday, and they mentioned that it was Colman's only, like, second Met Gala, which is wild. But that look was just incredible.
Tara Gonzalez
So good.
Lauren Egertson
I also feel like I can see a future meme happening, and maybe it's, like, a local New York meme, but Spike Lee, he was wearing a Knicks hat. I'm from New York, so I only care about the Knicks or the Mets doing anything. And the Knicks are playing a game today. And so I just thought it was funny that Spike Lee, like, of course he's, like, the biggest Knicks fan, and I love that he showed up wearing a Knicks hat. There's actually a Knicks hat also in the Met exhibit, so it makes sense. But I thought it was just, like, really fun to see. And it's like, of course he's on the red carpet wearing this incredible outfit, but he's like, I need to represent my team. I kind of love that. I love the passion there. I also love Spike Lee in general. And actually, another fun thing that I think maybe people will dig into later is Teyana Taylor. Not to keep talking about her look, but it was incredible. Her Marc Jacobs look was created in collaboration with Ruth E. Carter, who is a legendary costume designer who worked on a bunch of Spike Lee movies and made some of the most incredible looks like, ever in movies. Also, her train at the bottom said Harlem Rose, and she's from Harlem. And also she has a really good song from 2018 called Rose in Harlem. So maybe that song will also have a resurgence. It should. It's a bop.
Bobby Schussler
I love a bop. Amazing. Going back briefly to Colman Domingo. So the co chairs were Colman, Lewis Hamilton, asap, Rocky, Pharrell Williams. Tara, can you tell us a little bit about the role of, like, a Met Gala co chair? And what do these co chairs actually do?
Lauren Egertson
So the co chairs help promote, fundraise, and publicize the event, and they also work alongside Anna Wintour to bring the exhibit's vision to life. Although we don't know exactly, like, what's happening behind the scenes, they often do have a ton of input on what they feel is important to be represented in the exhibit. So they probably had input on what designers, what were key themes, what were key ideas to do the best representation of dandyism. And then at the exhibit preview today, Colman Domingo, he was in charge of giving the remarks where he did the most beautiful job. He talked for eight minutes, and I feel like that was the longest that any co chair has spoken. But he wrote the most incredible speech about his family. He went through so many of his family members and all of the way that they dressed and how that embodied the beauty of black style to him and that he wanted to impart that onto everybody else. And that was obviously a huge idea of the exhibit as well, for everyone to see the beauty of black style through generations, which was incredible. And as a co chair, he did a great job. He made people cry. So I guess that co chairs can also make you cry with how beautiful the exhibit is.
Bobby Schussler
That's amazing.
Tara Gonzalez
That's so sweet.
Bobby Schussler
I love it. Okay, so there's obviously so much to always take in. We've talked a lot about the looks, but sometimes it's those smaller styling moments, whether it's like an accessory, a beauty detail that also stands out. Any favorite smaller details from the carpet?
Tara Gonzalez
I feel like the jewelry is always so interesting to me. I loved all the grills. I loved all the brooches. I loved all of the, like, tie pins, the gloves on men and women. I loved a lot of the shoes. Like Rihanna's shoes and her Marc Jacobs look, I think were gorgeous. Almost like a play on an oxford or like a saddle shoe. Black and white lace up. Those little things can take the garments to another level and really help with storytelling.
Bobby Schussler
What about you, Tara?
Lauren Egertson
So the makeup and the hair, I feel like it really obviously, like, helps pull the whole look together. And I feel like Dochi's makeup look where she had the Louis Vuitton on her cheek, that was like, how did they do this? Do I need logos on my cheek now?
Bobby Schussler
Like, maybe we all need to pick our favorite label and put it on our cheeks.
Tara Gonzalez
Bobby's is, like Hermes.
Lauren Egertson
So I feel like the makeup, that was one that I will not be getting out of my head, and I don't think anyone has ever done that before. Megan Thee stallion, had an incredible hair moment. That was a reference to a Josephine Baker movie as well. And the specific hairstyle, I feel like that really helps play up the storytelling and makes it one really cohesive vision and helps elevate the outfit into, like, this other realm. That was really fun. Oh, and nails. I'm an acrylic nail girly, and I feel like there was so many good nails on this red carpet, like Sha'carri Richardson, and I feel like they were also, like, one of her signature beauty things. So I feel like that was really cool to see that on the red carpet, where also I feel like sometimes with nails, people are A little bit more, like, subtle.
Bobby Schussler
Absolutely. I feel like also hair. Zoe Saldana was also one of my favorite looks.
Tara Gonzalez
Her Bob.
Bobby Schussler
Yeah, the Bob. And I loved her Thom Browne look also was really cool.
Tara Gonzalez
I also loved that Dochi had a cigar with her Louis Vuitton look. Like, things like that too. It's like dandyism is also just exuberance and extravagance, and I love that asap. Rocky. Also, I'm remembering this detail. He had an umbrella with him. There were also a lot of canes, so at first I thought it was a cane, but it's an umbrella from Brianny Raymond. They customized the umbrella with 90 carats of diamonds. Very casual.
Bobby Schussler
Just what I'm looking for.
Tara Gonzalez
You know, there's diamonds everywhere at these events, but I love that it just can be taken to a level like that with an umbrella being bedazzled.
Lauren Egertson
I loved the umbrella because it was raining in New York today, and I was like, did he see the weather report a couple of days ago? And was like, well, I'm just gonna have this umbrella just in case it rains. Like, I kind of love the planning there. Feels, like, really iconic. And also, speaking of fun camp accessories, I really liked Claro's Valentino cat purse, which I'm not entirely sure. Like, it's this $5,000 Valentino purse shaped like a cat, and I really want it.
Tara Gonzalez
Yeah, of course.
Lauren Egertson
Even though it's just so ridiculous and so over the top. But it also made an appearance on the Oscars red carpet, so I feel like it's becoming a thing. But that was really funny to see, and I feel like also did play into the exuberance of all of the looks. Just everybody having fun with fashion. It brought a smile to my face.
Bobby Schussler
All right, so should we get down to our number one, each of us best dress, or does anyone have anything else they want to add?
Tara Gonzalez
Oh, my God. I don't even know if I can pick someone. It's giving me anxiety. You can pick a couple who are yours.
Bobby Schussler
Well, Colman Domingo for sure. And then I'm gonna actually say Diana Ross as one of mine. And then Zendaya, I think, are my top three.
Lauren Egertson
Those are good. Okay. I feel like I really loved Teyana Taylor's, who we already talked about, but I just once again, love the reference. I love the personal aspect. I love Ruthie Carter, so I really love to see that. And also, I've interviewed her before, also before the Met gal, and she's the most lovely, beautiful person inside and out. And she's Also from New York, so always going to support my girls. I loved, as any severance fan might, Mr. Milchek or Trey Mal Tillman, his actual name. I love to see him on the red carpet, and I just feel like his look was incredible. Like, he had this bouquet flower piece coming out of the velvet blazer, and he had incredible shoes on and pinstriped pants. It was one of the standout looks of the evening. And I feel like it's also exciting to see an actor like that who had this big role finally getting their flowers. Literally. That was really fun. And that was one of my top two favorite looks.
Bobby Schussler
Love it.
Tara Gonzalez
Bobby and I actually have a weird obsession with opera shoes for men or, like, little ballet flats. And he. Mr. Milchek wore. I think it was Thom Brown. And so he had the shoes like that. They were black and white, and they were just perfect and amazing and beyond obsessed. All those details are so fun. I think mine, one of them has to be Rihanna because I think it was the best Marc Jacobs look in close competition with Tracee Ellis Ross. But because she was pregnant and the long anticipated wait of her arrival, it was just so amazing. And I love this one detail that Mark will do where he takes fabrics and, like, silhouettes that shouldn't be, like, knotted. From the back view, it was like a oversized blazer. It almost looked like it was tucked through and pulled like you would tie it around your waist, but it was kind of draped down and flowed into the train a little bit. I just love that. And I loved her shoes, and I love the way it accentuated her bump. And I just thought it was great. Colman Domingo, for sure. And I really like Dochis. I love that she did a short and wore a boot like it was so her. And I was really excited to see what she was going to wear to this, especially after her amazing Grammys performance, where I think there was, like, a level of dandyism incorporated into that with her and all of her dancers wearing head to toe. Thom Browne. It just got me really hyped up to see what she was gonna do. And I loved the character that she was playing on the carpet. I thought it was great.
Lauren Egertson
You just made me realize I had another favorite, which was Lewis Hamilton. Oh, he was very early on the red carpet. That felt like seven years ago, and it was maybe three hours ago, which is very long time ago for red carpet. But he wore a really beautiful Grace Wells Bonner suit. And I love Grace Wells Bonner. And there's so many incredible pieces of hers in the exhibit as well. His stylist Eric McNeil had posted some insight onto the look on his Instagram story about how every single detail was so thought out. Like the color ivory was supposed to represent purity and status and there was cowrie shells that were supposed to represent like being passed down for generations. There was so much saw it and the look was so ethereal and beautiful. His shoes were also incredible. They had a little buckle and he had all this great jewelry on. I was like this is a look that I want to wear. Like I am obsessed. And I loved seeing Grace well as Bonner also on the red carpet.
Bobby Schussler
Amazing.
Tara Gonzalez
Yeah.
Bobby Schussler
