Get them banned. Get them banned. Oh, we don't do that here. Oh, now I'm pissed. Happy Friday and welcome back to Therapists and Surprise. Today we have on Tyreek Withers, who is in the new film reminders of him. If you are thinking this looks familiar, it's cuz it is. Cass has not moved.
B
I'm not moving all day.
A
And is there anything you want to tell the pussies? This fine Friday, I feel like.
B
And that's literally everything I have to say right now.
A
Do you think we've developed our attachment styles any differently?
B
No. Yeah. Yeah. It's not gonna happen for a while, but we're healing and we're all in therapy.
A
I am with new therapist.
B
Why did you change your therapist?
A
Because my. I was just talking shit with my old one. Love you. But I was just talking shit with my old one all the time. That's all I would do.
B
And that bothered you?
A
And all I was doing was sitting there and talking shit. And then I would tell her something that would happen with my ocd and she would be like, omg. Whereas, like, my new therapist is like, oh, that's this. And you need to combat it by doing this. Because I'm in a new form. Form of therapy special for ocd.
B
Yeah. That's good. I'm proud of you.
A
Thanks.
B
I'm ghosting my therapist again.
A
You just said you're in therapy and you're healing.
B
That was three months ago. I'm ghosting my therapist at the moment.
A
You just said what? You're Cassidy right now on this intro. You just said you were in. Currently in present tense, in therapy and healing, and now you're saying that was three months ago.
B
And I lied because I haven't seen my therapist in three months and I was healing and now I'm taking a break from. Because I don't want to see her. I don't want to talk about things right now. So I ghost her and then I see her again in like a month. It's fine.
A
Do you believe therapy is for summer?
B
No, I think I'm happier in summer.
A
So you think we shouldn't do therapy in summer?
B
I actually believe we shouldn't. No. I don't need therapy in summer. And why'd you ask me that? Because you're happier in summer.
A
Are you?
B
Yeah. The sun's out. I feel good. I'm tan, I'm skinny, like.
A
Well, today we have on Tyreek Withers, who's lovely, hilarious, and just the best. He's also, once again, in the New film, Reminders of him, which is also amazing. Okay. I love you, pussies. Enjoy the episode. Hi, pussies. Welcome back to Therapuss. Tonight we have on the star of Reminders of Him, Tyreek Withers.
C
Oh, that's okay. There we go. There we go.
A
Hi.
C
Oh, my God.
A
Oh, my God.
C
I'm in the presence of royalty.
A
Don't even stop.
C
Oh, my God. I'm so nervous. I. You know, ask my team. I don't. I don't really respond to their emails, but once they said, Jake, Shane, therapists, when they send that pigeon immediately. So I've been waiting for this.
A
Really?
C
Yeah. I swear to God. We. Oh, my God. We met at lacma. Lacma.
A
You have a fun night that night?
C
I had a blast. What did we do?
A
We went to that house.
C
After the house. There's people dancing on the table. You know, I think that's where I met Doja Cat for the first time.
A
She was there?
C
Yeah.
A
How was she?
C
She was lovely. She was. She was there for a very long time. I got introduced to her by Paris Hilton, which is. It sounds like a crazy night, which it was, but.
A
But it really isn't. Like, if you think about what you're, like, actually doing, you're all just, like, sitting.
C
Yeah, you're sitting. You're, like, smiling, posture, eating, like, mystery meat.
A
Mystery me.
C
Yeah, mystery me. And then, you know, carpet photo.
A
Oh, yeah. You know, I got the best photo of my entire life that night. Well, you wouldn't know, but I did.
C
Really?
A
Yeah.
C
What were you wearing? Who were you wearing?
A
I was wearing Tom Ford.
C
Oh, I've never worn Tom Ford.
A
Well, he didn't give it to me. I bought it.
C
Oh.
A
But his loss. It was. I. It was, like, the only tux I own.
C
Yeah.
A
I went out the night. Because the night before was Halloween.
C
Oh, it was. What'd you dress up as?
A
I was. Oh, I was a role model in the Sally music video.
C
Oh, yes, yes. Iconic.
A
Cheeky.
C
I was just, you know, six foot five Teletubby.
A
You dressed up as a. I thought you were about to say you dressed up as 6 foot 5. I was like, what? You dressed up as a Teletubby? What'd you do on Halloween?
C
What did I do on Halloween? I don't know. I just made a fool of myself. You know, I was, you know, dipsy. You know, the green Teletubby with the.
A
How old are you?
C
Okay, we're getting into it.
A
How old are you?
C
Take a guess.
A
20.
C
28, 27.
A
I am so sorry.
C
Yeah, no, you aging me up.
A
Just know the way you carry yourself. Very gentlemanly, very, very gentle. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you got your start on Atlanta.
C
I got my start on YouTube.
A
Oh, yeah, those videos.
C
That was my first professional job, leading something. But my first professional professional was an episode of Legacies on cw. I played a Wolf tour student.
A
I was about to say, is Legacies the vampire spinoff?
C
Yeah, it's like the third one. I think it goes Ordinaries. No, the original. Original, sorry. The song Ordinaries is always something so out. Angels up in the Cloud. It's the theme of our movie the Ordinary.
A
Okay, okay, okay, wait. Okay, continue. So you started.
C
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
A
YouTube, then legacy.
C
Not. Yeah, YouTube. Vine was like the first thing.
A
You were a Viner.
C
I tried to be a Viner.
A
You'd be a good Viner.
C
Yeah, yeah, I trust. I was trying to make it to la. I didn't have a phone to edit on, so that was a hard thing to do. Like, you know, back in the day, you have to like download third party apps, like download this video that, you know, like edits videos down. It's confusing. So I tried to make some Vines and then I moved to musical ly. Did you make any musical ly's?
A
You did not make musical ly's.
C
Yes, I did.
A
Did you do like that? Did you actually, yeah. Do you have them still?
C
Yeah. You're not gonna see them though.
A
No, you have to show. Just show me.
C
Y. Yeah, I'll show you.
A
What songs did you do musically?
C
Oh, was it Sartorius? Jacob Sartorius songs? That was like the one. I tried to get my hair like that. I didn't work out, but.
A
So where are you from?
C
Where am I from? I am from Jacksonville, Florida.
A
Oh, I.
C
No, you don't. I'm sorry, you're trying to be nice.
A
I was going to say I love Florida.
C
I know it's. There's parts of it you have to love. It might be underwater in the next few years, but it's fine. It's. Everything's matters. Yeah.
A
You think global war, man.
C
Yeah. Yeah.
A
You really think so? I mean, no, I believe in global warming. Sorry. Like, I'm not like an idiot, But like, I'm just saying, like, you think it's gonna happen like that quick?
C
Well, who's this? A. You know, you just now depending on what part of Florida you know, we gotta keep Disney alive.
A
Have you been to Disney World?
C
Yes, I've been to Disney World and land. You've never been. Yeah. Criminal.
A
I know.
C
Criminal. Do you judge people who go, like, adults who.
A
No, because I think it's, like, beautiful to still hold on to, like, little things like that. I do think, like, it gets to a point.
C
Yeah. It gets to a certain point where
A
it's like that is that Princess is not real.
C
Yeah. You're in psychosis.
A
Yeah. Something that she is not not real. Like, and also, I guess my confusion with Disney adults, and I don't mean to sound so rude, is that what is so special? It's like, okay, like, I'm a. Like, like I, like, I'm a stand for, like, pop girls. Right. And some. Some people can tell you that that's comparable, but I actually don't agree. Like, what is like, Mickey Mouse isn't releasing new music. Like, you know what I mean? Like, he's not. Like, you have.
C
Like, you're watching the same.
A
Exactly. You're watching the same Beauty and the Beast over and over and over and over and over and over again. What is that doing for you?
C
You know I did Disney, right? The finally, you know, I went with somebody rich. Brittany Broski.
A
Oh, she took you to Disney.
C
She took me to Disney. She had the chaperone. We like, skipped the line.
A
Oh, yeah. Land or World?
C
Which one's LA Land? Land. It's not as good as World.
A
I mean, world to world.
C
Ye. A. Like a whole situation. You know that one I've only done like, once, and I was like a teenager. But I've done Disneyland a couple times. But we. Me and Britney Brosi went and it's kind of you. Once you go with the chaperone, well, you're. You're a lister. So you have to, like, go bodyguard.
A
Like, what did you just say?
C
Yes, you're. You're Hollywood.
A
You run.
C
You walk Hollywood.
A
You walk that back right now.
C
Yeah, I'm walking it back. Just take it back. You can't go to Disneyland or World
A
without give me a real, like, okay, like, I'm not a list. Brad Pitt is a list. What list would you put me on? Realistically? And minuses and pluses can be included, right?
C
I mean, didn't you. You don't you have like, the, you
A
know, like B minus. You can say I'm B, B plus, C minus. So just give it a real, real, true, honest answer. Like, look, hopefully I have many years left in this career, so, like, I can always work up. So give me your honest answer. Where I'm at right now, I think
C
with all the co signs, you know, like, People vouching for you. I think you're, like, in A minus.
A
Oh, stop, stop.
C
I mean, the real B plus. B plus.
A
Okay, I'll take a B.
C
B plus. A. I'm going to say a minus. But you. You feel like it's.
A
You know. You really just made my day.
C
Yeah.
A
Tysmith.
C
See? You're welcome so much. So whenever you go to Disney, chaperone. Yeah, chaperone with me.
A
With you.
C
We'll have to go, like. Do you drink?
A
Yes, I drink.
C
Okay, all right.
A
Do you drink?
C
Yes, I drink. Do I drink? My middle name is Tykela. Sorry. Is it really drink responsibly? Kids. Not kids. Sorry. Adults. Sorry. My publicist is going to be like, yeah, everything's fine. Nothing matters. Nothing matters.
A
You don't think nothing matters?
C
Nothing matters. Because at the end of the day, it's the end of the day, and the sun's gonna shine.
A
The end of the day is the end of the day.
C
Yeah. Yeah. It's my first tattoo.
A
Your tattoo says at the end of
C
the day, it's the end of the day? Yep.
A
It's where it's on. It's right.
C
No, I'm kidding. Kidding. No tattoos. No tattoo.
A
Oh, I thought you were dead serious, and I was trying to be polite.
C
Nope.
A
I was, like, really freaking out. Okay, so you are in reminders of him.
C
Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Which is not a Him sequel. It's not a.
A
No, it's not.
C
We have to. We have to clarify that.
A
Yes.
C
But, yeah, I am.
A
You had to clarify that.
C
Yeah. A lot of people think, oh, it's the sequel because.
A
Okay, but you are in reminders of him.
C
Yeah. Yeah. Reminders of him.
A
The soundtrack is incredible.
C
Yes.
A
I came here to ask you, or I guess I'm here. The most pressing subject on my mind. That Casey Musgrave song that plays in it, is that an original for the movie?
C
What's the name of the song?
A
Don't know.
C
So the song name. Don't know. Don't Know. I honestly don't know.
A
When I was watching it last night with my best friend Peyton in bed, we were like. We had to pause it and be like, is this an original for this movie?
C
Really? See, I watched it in a. A screening theater, so I couldn't pause it and appreciate all the music, so I'd have to run it back. But it might be an original.
A
Can I ask you a question about the movie? So they won't let her see her kids.
C
Yeah.
A
Was she drinking that night? Like, did I miss it? I kept looking At Peyton being like, was she drunk in the car? Like, why are they so angry at her?
C
I think it was a mix of drinking and like edibles. Like, so.
A
So they were under the influence.
C
Under the influence. And it was a misconception of. But.
A
But she didn't crash the car. The car bumped.
C
Yeah, bumped. But she fled the scene to go get help. But then, yeah, she woke up and it looked like she fled the scene. She like passed out.
A
So are you on her side?
C
Am I on her side?
A
Like, if you were those parents, would you be like, get.
C
Or like, no, if I was the parents, get. Put her under the jail, you know, Cuz it's all perspective. That's my baby you killed.
A
You know, so.
C
But I think that's the cool thing about the story, is just all different perspectives and then there's three sides to every story. Their side.
A
Three sides?
C
Yeah, their side, my side, and the truth.
A
So what do you mean by. Oh my God, I'm sick. Yeah, I'm sick over that a little.
C
Think about it. Because I think we're all emotional human beings, so we have like a perspective on stories and so we attach emotion to how, like, something happens to us. And so we'll tell a story like.
A
Sorry, I'm sorry. I was very confused for five seconds. You attach emotion to something that.
C
Yeah, we're not. Like, just logic. Like, you know.
A
Okay, okay, okay. And then there's the truth.
C
Yeah, the truth. You know, it's like, hey, I slapped this person because they made me feel this way. And then it's like their side is like, he just slapped me out of nowhere. But, you know, you.
A
What? You slapped him?
C
Whatever God says or whatever.
A
Are you a religious man?
C
I'm not a religious man.
A
Okay.
C
I believe there's higher power by spiritual. I think religion, man. There's trauma when religion. Because I had like a step parent, like fear monger me with religion.
A
Oh, I'm so sorry.
C
I'm on that, like, journey of figuring it out.
A
How did you take yourself out of that?
C
I think you just. You get older and you know, like you go to college and then you surround yourself with, you know, people and then you start having fun and realize again, nothing matters. And yeah, you just age out of it and distance yourself. And now we're here.
A
Do you ever find yourself, like, going back to that when you get anxiety or anxious?
C
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like going back to like the fear
A
mongering that was instilled in you?
C
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. I think, you know, it made me like, ocd like, hyper fixate on, you know, am I a bad person?
A
I have the same exact ocd. I'm not kidding.
C
Yeah.
A
Don't you feel like a bad person all the time?
C
All the time. And it's like chronic, you know, it's like, I know I'm not a bad person, but I'm always hyper aware of energies and like. Did I.
A
But that's why I. I feel like. Do you ever find it then hard to be public facing? Because then if somebody comes at you and says you're a bad person, you're just like. You're like, wait, I. I know.
C
Yeah. And then you're like. You have so many brief interactions and you just want to make sure. Because, like, now that I have art out in the world, people have an idea of me and when they see me for like 15 seconds, you know, I have this anxiety of like, wanting to, like, make it worth their while. And it just becomes this, you know, exhausting experience because I'm just always on, like, Right. And it's like, not that I'm performing, but I'm just. I just want this person. I see this person. I want to make sure they're having
A
a good moment experience with you as well.
C
Exactly. So.
A
Oh, I did not know you had ocd. Do you take anything to manage that?
C
No, I just. Raw dogs. Really? Yeah, just raw dog it.
A
Okay, well, not to like, put you onto something, but I've been taking Luvox recently and it's been amazing.
C
It helps. Like, you just don't.
A
I think so.
C
Do beta blockers help with that?
A
Beta blockers help with the physical symptoms of anxiety.
C
I'm chronically anxious, you know.
A
Are you anxious right now?
C
Absolutely. Yeah.
A
What can I do to help you be less anxious?
C
Tequila?
A
No, I mean, we do have that.
C
It's 11:30.
A
Okay.
C
But yeah, yeah, no, we're fine. We're fine. I think this conversation.
A
No, I'm glad you. You know, I'm glad you said that. Once again, we'll cut this, but you can have you a final edit.
C
No, no, I love the episode. I love you. I love this mew mew look. Show the audience the mew mew. I see it. I see it. Serve.
A
It's the lore.
C
Show the watch. Show the watch.
A
Okay.
C
Yeah.
A
You insist you after.
C
Yeah. Okay. Oh, man. You gotta.
A
You show your watch, huh?
C
This is a.
A
The Two Tone is just gorgeous.
C
Two Tone present from the late and great Colleen Hoover. So.
A
Coho.
C
Coho.
A
So do you. When you went into filming for this movie, it's Unlike anything you've done. Because the. It's a. It's a book prior.
C
You've seen my work?
A
Yes.
C
Really?
A
What do you mean?
C
You mean wow? I didn't.
A
Of course I've seen Atlanta. I've seen him.
C
Oh, wow. Yes, yes, yes.
A
And you know what else I saw?
C
I know what you did last.
A
I know what you did last summer. And you worked on that with my best friend in the entire world, Madeline Klein.
C
Madeline Klein. Love Maddie Klein.
A
Greatest of all time, bro.
C
If it wasn't for Maddie Klein, that shoot would have been. It would have been really hell to get through. Just because you're like, distance from home. You're in Australia, Sydney, you're in southern hemisphere. Anything bad happened, I'm blaming it on the southern hemisphere.
A
I feel like she is so good to, like, have on set. I feel like she makes for such a warm set. I've never been on set with her, but, yeah, I know her as a friend.
C
Yeah.
A
And like, she is one of the most inviting, kind people and hard working, Hard working.
C
And, you know, down to clown.
A
You know, down to clown.
C
To clown. And I think you kind of need. Need that. I'm not the type of actor that, like, needs to, like, leave me alone. No, I need to stay focused. I just.
A
Right.
C
I do my job, I show up, but I like to like the in betweens. I like to enjoy myself.
A
Right.
C
We played a lot of pool. There's this one video CCTV footage. It was me and Maddie hanging out at a bar. And then we went outside on the patio, but we were playing pool. And she left her purse, like, on. On this chair. And then there's this guy that walks over to her purse and tries to steal her purse. And I come running out of the back patio, chasing him through the bar, downstairs, outside. And I chased him for like a mile. And he was like, on a rugby team and I have cctv.
A
Oh, he was committed to the bit of stealing her purse.
C
Absolutely. She had to, like, cancel everything.
A
Did he steal the purse?
C
No, it looked like he was taking photos of, like, the purse. Yeah.
A
Oh, that's scary. You know what I find confusing? Pickpocketing in this day and age. People don't necessarily carry around cash with them anymore. You know what I mean? So, like, you're selling my credit card. Go have fun for five seconds. I'm going to cancel it and report it as fraud.
C
Yeah. Especially amex. Amex is good at, like.
A
Oh, Amex is.
C
Especially if you pay your bills on time. Like they. Oh, we know this Is this is fraud, right? Yeah. Do you know those videos, like, attention Pickpocket.
A
Oh, I do, I do. Pickpocket. Pickpocket. Was that in Italy?
C
Italy, Paris. Where? Wherever. I think it's funny. I mean, sometimes they yell it and they're not even pickpocketing. You can't pickpocket me. You're going to get like, empty, like, Like a. A Snickers rapper and like.
A
I hate Snickers.
C
Yeah. What?
A
Yeah, I do.
C
Really?
A
It's something.
C
It's like the perfect. You know.
A
You know what it is? It's the caramel. I hate caramel.
C
Oh, is it caramel or caramel?
A
Caramel.
C
Caramel.
A
Caramel.
C
Caramel.
A
Audience
C
I love my. I love my publicist so much. She's like the most comfortable under. Put the comforter on. Go to bed, girl. Go to bed, go to bed. She's like ad libbing the episode. It's 11:30. I want to be you when I grow up.
A
So. But my question, my initial question was the book was huge. It's huge.
C
Like seven. Seven million copies sold.
A
Right. So. But these books have fandoms pre attached to them.
C
Yeah.
A
Right.
C
Yeah.
A
So they have. These fans have ideas of what they think the movie is going to look like and what they want the movie to look like. And you've never done anything like that before. Yeah, I know. What you did last summer was a sequel.
C
Sure.
A
It has fans, but that was a sequel.
C
Absolutely.
A
This. You're stepping into a world where there is a fandom. Was there any anxiety surrounding that or did you not really think.
C
Yeah, no, it's always this immense amount of anxiety because, like, you know, books, it's all imaginative. It's, you know, people from. Where were we, like Kansas, who, like, have. They had their idea of who Ledger is the character I play and. Yeah, and you just want to, like, like breathe life into this character in the proper way. You know, in the book, there's like, Kenna loves the way he points. You know, you're like, I just want to make sure I'm pointing properly. But then having Colleen Hoover be on set every day. This. This is the only movie she's done that. She's on set every day. I've seen some of your beginning videos when you're like, baby, A baby. And you're, like, starting over. You're, like, trying to intro the video and.
A
I know.
C
And you just had your Broadway debut. How has that been for you?
A
It's been amazing.
C
Yeah.
A
It's the final week and it's been so. It's, it's, it's. So I went on tour last year. I did a tour for this show which I actually found far more difficult than Broadway, probably because I was on stage alone for two hours.
C
Yeah.
A
But for Broadway, it's very like, rinse and repeat. Like, you do the same thing every night. Obviously there's little ad libs here and there because I'm working with, like, such great comedians that are so quick and able to do that.
C
Yeah.
A
But I think the hard part is when you have two shows on Saturday and two shows on Sunday. Because I drink and so I drink every Friday.
C
Yes.
A
And so I. Last week I. I went out Friday. When I'm sleepy at a guy's house, I'm just like. But I didn't, I didn't sleep at all. And I was like. Like he didn't have anything to put me to bed. I was like, oh, my God, I'm going to freak out.
C
You don't have anything to put you to bed?
A
Some melatonin, but, like, that's lightweight. I mean, like, my sleep cocktail goes crazy. But so I didn't sleep and I was hungover. So on like, the first Saturday show, I was literally like a dead man. And then.
C
Oh, it's tough being an icon.
A
I know, but it, it, it's been great. Did you ever watch, like, Everyone Loves Raymond?
C
I did not.
A
Okay, well, I'm working with Ray Romano. Do you watch Succession?
C
Yes.
A
Oh, I'm working with Nicholas Braun.
C
Oh.
A
Who's about just as tall as you are.
C
Yeah, the tall one.
A
Yeah. And I'm working with Jenny Slate.
C
Oh, wow.
A
Who is incredible as well.
C
Yeah. And like, I know how intense. Well, I haven't done Broadway. I know how intense that schedule is for you to take the time out to interview me. I was like, I even checked in with my team. I was like, so when is this happening? He's on Broadway, so. Oh, my God.
A
No. You know what? The schedule, at least for this show, really isn't that intense. The show starts at 7:30. I get to the theater at 6:30, and then I do the show. It's really like. It's. They've made the environment so warm and welcoming and easy that it's like you put on your costume, put on your mic, you go do the show, and then you sign Playbills and then you go home. It's really like. And it's fun. Like, you know what I mean? It doesn't feel. It really doesn't feel like work because it is so fun and like. Like, doing, like, getting to hear people laugh in real time at something you've said.
C
Yeah.
A
It's like, the best feeling. There's, like, no comparable feeling in the entire world to that, to me, so, like, it doesn't feel. It doesn't feel like work.
C
Yeah. Was Broadway, like, acting? The. The goal? Yeah.
A
No, it's. It's so funny how things kind of just some. Some of the best things in your life kind of just come to.
C
Yeah.
A
You know what I mean?
C
Like, you're a good person.
A
What?
C
When you're a good person, too, hopefully. Yeah. No.
A
Do you think I'm a good person?
C
I feel that you're a good person.
A
Okay.
C
Like, I have intuition. You do?
A
What's your. What's your. What's your star sign?
C
My star sign? Yeah. Green flag.
A
What?
C
My star sign is a green flag. I'm a walking green flag.
A
Okay. But what. When is your birthday, Tyri?
C
Well, we don't have to get into star signs, because I'm gonna tell you, and then you're gonna look at me differently, and then you're gonna.
A
Are you a Gemini?
C
Yuck.
A
What are you. Tell me.
C
I'll be Cancer.
A
That's beautiful.
C
Oh, you like cancer?
A
I love cancers. That must mean you love your family so much you love being home.
C
Yeah. I love you cry.
A
Do you cry all the time?
C
I wouldn't say all the time. I would say, like, be honest, you know, Be honest a couple times a week, you know?
A
You know, I haven't cried since 2019.
C
Really? Are you okay?
A
Nope.
C
What's your star sign?
A
Scorpio.
C
Yeah.
A
You're Scorpio. October. November. Oh, you're crazy.
C
Yeah. Yeah. Are you.
A
Are you in a relationship? Are you the crazy. Are you the crazy one?
C
Before we started the episode, before I heard you flirting.
A
We are not flirting. He has a boyfriend.
C
I love it. I love it. Yeah. So, yeah. What would you say. What would younger you say to you right now? You just want us to finish out? Pass out.
A
Pass out. But. But back to what I was saying. The camera can't see, but we're, like, playing footsie right now. We, like, low.
C
I'm like,
A
I. So Ashley park was supposed to be in it.
C
Yeah.
A
She. Or she had another commitment.
C
Yeah.
A
And so I got the call and I was like, I know that a lot of people are going to say that this is a stunt cast, and, like. Like, I know that people are going to say I don't deserve to be here, so I've been trying really hard to prove myself and put the time in and the work in, because I know that I'm. That this was a Lux. Like, I. I feel very lucky to have been able to do this.
C
Yeah.
A
So I. That's. That's, like, what's been going through my head in terms of. You didn't ask that question.
C
No, but I appreciate it. No, I'm a cancer, so I'm. I'm. I empathize. And I feel, even for me, like. Like, you asked that question about the book or even stepping on a set to. For, like, Jordan Pill movie, you're like, do I deserve to be here? You know, but I think success is when luck meets hard work. And I think you put in the. The work to be there. And so if anybody has anything to
A
say, same for you.
C
Fuck them. Two times. So.
A
Yeah, I loved that. Wait, have you. So have you met Jordan Peele?
C
Yeah. Yeah.
A
Okay. He went to my high school.
C
Really?
A
And he, at the time was starring in Key and Peele, and he hadn't done get out yet or anything, and he was so awesome.
C
Yeah, he's such a cool guy. You know, he's mixed, too.
A
Is he really?
C
Yeah. Yeah.
A
So did you guys talk about that?
C
Yeah, we talked about it. I think that was a big part of him and the movie and the casting, you know, and he really, you know, championed me to get this. To get the role. And, you know, coming from an Atlanta episode, that that's a lot. That's not enough. Enough for a studio to be like, yeah, we're gonna put you as the lead of the movie. So like, now what you were saying earlier is, like, I had to prove myself every day on that set. So I was like. I went like, 10x right. You know, I have to commit myself. And the character in the movie was kind of like my experience in real life where, like, I get this one opportunity to tell this story on a. A studio level where it's coming out theatrically.
A
Did you play football?
C
I played football. Ish. Like, I played a different position than quarterback.
A
But then you played soccer, right?
C
I grew up playing soccer.
A
You grew up playing soccer and then
C
played football, then played football out of spite. I'm here today because of spite. Because, you know, like, so it's all like this, you know, this cycle of spite. You know, you get cheated on and, you know, then you do this, you know, oh, watch this. I'm gonna be the best soccer player ever. And then I burned out and got cut my senior year of high school. But I played high school soccer and then club soccer, high school soccer doesn't really matter. It's the club where we were like.
A
I know. Yes. Because I was a volleyball kid, so I remember the high school volleyball didn't matter, but club volleyball.
C
Yeah, but I was in varsity soccer in seventh grade.
A
Why'd you get cut?
C
I got cut. You know, the.
A
Now. I don't know.
C
I'm still hurt by it.
A
By the way, were you not good or did something happen?
C
No, it was like I. You get burned out. You go through like the. The puberty and like you shoot to a different height and then you're just like, I don't care nothing.
A
What was puberty like for you?
C
Puberty was like I went from probably your height to huh. To like 6:12. And that was like. I was lanky. I didn't know how to use my body. And it was like very fast and late. It was a late bloomer. So I was like, what?
A
What? Yeah, puberty sucks. I don't like, remember going through puberty.
C
Yeah, no one does.
A
I like, don't remember it. I don't remember my voice dropping. I don't think my voice ever like, cracked.
C
Yeah, I don't remember.
A
Yeah, I don't remember being like, different.
C
Do you remember when things dropped?
A
Like my balls? Yeah, no, I actually don't. Is that a thing? Balls drop in.
C
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
A
So like your balls are like up.
C
They're like on, on the side. Like. Yeah. And then when they like when you go to.
A
Super scared of my own balls in a sense. Not that there was something's wrong with them, but like, I'm always scared to like, like get kicked or sit on them weird.
C
Or like, oh, oh.
A
Do you know what I mean?
C
That was a flex. He said just sit on him. Yeah, no weird flex, but okay.
A
No, like, no, I'm not saying I
C
hate when I go to the bathroom, my dick touches the water.
A
I'm not saying I have like big balls. I'm just saying like, it's like one of those like irrational fears that I have that like, they are like, like they bug. Balls bug me out. They're like, like they're like. They're just like organs. Like, they're like, like organs like sitting, hanging, like they really bug me out.
C
Skin, it needs like a skincare routine. It feels like the skin does it. I can only.
A
Oh my God. And then like, can I just like, we can cut this. Cuz this is going to. But like shaving your balls, like when you cut your balls and you're bleeding out.
C
Of your ball. That's the worst. Oh, my God.
A
I feel like I just cut my neck open.
C
Yes.
A
Like, do you know what I mean?
C
Yeah, yeah. I'd rather eat a jean jacket and cut my balls like that.
A
I'd rather eat a jean jacket than cut my own balls. Okay.
C
No, I do. Waxes are important.
A
I wax.
C
Yeah, you wax.
A
It's like, do you wax?
C
I haven't done in a while, but I am a pro waxer.
A
I. Where do you go? Don't say it.
C
No, I'm not gonna say it.
A
European. European wax center.
C
I, like, moved from Florida or Atlanta, and I had, like, a. You have to build a relationship with your waxer. Yeah, Your waxer. And I remember they tried to, like, send somebody out, and I was like, no. She's like, no, we can't. We have to.
A
Have you been to a European wax center?
C
Absolutely. That's.
A
How do you think? Do you think they're run? Well, give me an honest answer. This is the one thing from my.
C
From my experience, it could be better.
A
You know what could be better about it? Because I can tell you.
C
Yeah, you tell me.
A
Why are there two receptionists for one waxer?
C
Money laundering.
A
That's what I said. Why are there two receptionists for one waxer? So, like, you're like, spark.
C
An investigation.
A
Let's think about it for a second. Right? There's two receptionists.
C
Yeah.
A
One waxer.
C
Yeah. That's where your money's going.
A
Why would two people be checking in? Like, if you're like, oh, can you help this customer? Or can you help this customer? Yeah, there's only one waxer back there. Both customers are going to the same waxer. So wouldn't it make sense to have two waxers and one receptionist? It does not make sense. Like, it's. It actually makes me mad too. And then, like, when I was late once, I was like, hey, I'm running a few minutes behind. They're like, if you are nine minutes late. Yeah, you're done. And I was like, Even if I'm 10, they said, nine is the cutoff.
C
And then I got in.
A
We looked at each other like, what's up?
C
What's up? And like, you're like, this, what's up?
A
And then my waxer was great, but now I feel uncomfortable to go back because I am in a huge beef with them.
C
Yeah. Yeah. I'm telling you, that relationship between wax and waxer and waxy.
A
No, my waxer is lovely. Shout out her. Forget your name, but you were amazing.
C
Yeah, my waxer she used to make fun of me.
A
Why?
C
I don't know. You just kind of need to be made fun of. Like, you know, you're in that vulnerable position.
A
Like, haha, you're hairy.
C
Yeah. She was like. I was probably one of the most hairy ones that she. She was like. It's like pulling like a forest out. Not anymore. I'm. That was my first time. Getting waxed.
A
Of your butthole?
C
Yeah. Everything, you know, well, you gotta.
A
If you're gonna have.
C
Yeah. It's good hygiene when you go to the bathroom. You know, I think I'm a advocate for, you know, good hyper male hygiene
A
because, you know, I showered three times the other day just because I was seeing a man.
C
Really? Three.
A
Three. Wash my hair multiple times.
C
Oh, my God.
A

C
Yes.
A
What are you therapist about today?
C
I'm therapist about. Okay. All right. There's a lot.
A
Give it to me.
C
I feel like when you. When you go into these Hotels. This sounds like first world. And. And, you know, you have those shower heads that are, like, just above you, and I just feel like they're not very inclusive for people who don't want to get their. Their hair wet. And you.
A
Okay, so the hotel I'm staying at, you can decide if you want the one above or.
C
Really?
A
Yeah.
C
There's levels to this.
A
Yeah. No, I get it because I have.
C
I have friends, you know, that, like, you just got. Just can't get your hair wet.
A
But then sometimes you. But. But even if you put on, like, a cap, like, it still, like, pushes the hair.
C
Yeah, Yeah, I think.
A
I totally get that.
C
I think they're not.
A
That's annoying.
C
Yeah, it's really annoying.
A
How's the water pressure there?
C
Water. Oh. Oh, my God, the water pressure. It could be better. It could be better. I'm like.
A
I agree.
C
Turn. Turn it all the way up. I'm very, like. I'm very particular about that. The. The water temperature is really great. I like to, like, you know, scorch.
A
Scorch.
C
But also, don't act like I need to ask about having a. A tub in my room, you know?
A
Wait, we were so just, like, right there without each other. I was about to ask if you take baths.
C
Yes, I'm a very, like. Do you. Okay, there's a big, big question here, and there's a right answer. Okay. Do you just hop in the bath or do you, like, wait for a shower or shower bath? Or do you, like. What? What's the. What's the.
A
I don't take baths. I. I don't like them.
C
Oh, what?
A
Because I'm like. I'm so hot. I'm so hot.
C
Yeah, but that's the best part. You, like, kind of, like, almost pass out.
A
No, no, no, no, no, no. So if I ever do take a bath, which is rare, I hop in the bath, and then I shower after bath.
C
So you. You're in your own. That's soup. You're in your own. Yes, like, soup, and then you shower this. The dirt off.
A
Oh, I've never. You shower before the bath.
C
Absolutely. You got to get. You got to clean, then get in the bath. And then.
A
You know, the best is when there's the bath in the same room as the shower, and it's, like, in the
C
same, Like, a wet bath.
A
So you just, like, turn on the shower bath, hop out.
C
Oh, my God. Yeah.
A
What else are you angry about today?
C
What am I angry about today? Oh, man.
A
Ah,
C
that's a great question.
A
I can tell you What I'm angry about.
C
Yeah, what do you. What do you.
A
My love handles.
C
Oh, my God. I tell these people, people this all the time.
A
They won't go away. They won't go away.
C
A stubborn fat. I feel like I have to like.
A
Do you think there is a procedure that we can just get it shaved off?
C
I think you can, like, there's like, ADD cold. Like, there's this cold stuff you can like, put press on.
A
I really, really, really want them gone. They make me so no matter how,
C
like, skinny I get, they're always there.
A
They're always there.
C
And I say something and nobody, like, hears me. Nobody validates me on my.
A
I'm validating you right here, right now. This little pouch, they came out.
C
I'm trying to become like a mid drift baddie, you know?
A
A what?
C
Listen. Yeah, so a mint midriff baddie.
A
Mid drift baddy.
C
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
A
Oh, like you want to wear a crop top?
C
Well, not a crop top, but like, you know, for the coach show, I wore a little mid drift and the movie him, I had a little mid mid drift from my. When I was working out. But there's always this little pouch. No matter.
A
Yeah. And sometimes it just doesn't go away. Well, they'll tell you. It's.
C
It's.
A
It's in the kitchen and it's just. I don't want to hear that, you know?
C
Yeah, yeah. And it's. They're like, oh, it's you diet. And then this is the one I hate the most. Like, shut the up. It's like, they're like, oh, have you been getting enough sleep? It's like off.
A
Like, do you get enough sleep?
C
No.
A
How many hours you sleep?
C
Last night we had to be up at like 6. I went to bed at like 3. Yeah.
A
You know what? I need to stop. I need to stop complaining. I slept a good eight.
C
Good eight? You. Are you like an eight? Like solid eight.
A
Always. Forever.
C
Really?
A
What are you up late doing?
C
You thinking about tomorrow?
A
Do you. What are you watching? Do you watch tv? What are you watching? What are you watching on television right now? And what are you listening to?
C
What am I listening to? What am I watching? I love just. Just finished Traders.
A
Me too.
C
Which is like one of the.
A
Rob was here yesterday.
C
Yeah.
A
Played a good game.
C
He played a great game. Like, kind of. Kind of like in the Psycho, you know, you're like, could I do that? You know, he went there.
A
I would have done the same.
C
Of course.
A
I would have done this.
C
Of course. You know, it's all about that bag.
A
You know who else loves traders? Madeline.
C
Yeah. Oh, yeah. She put me on a traitor.
A
She loves Traders more than anything.
C
She put me on a traders.
A
What else are you watching?
C
What else? Industry. You love industry. The best show.
A
The best show on television.
C
The best show on television. And I've. That's. I don't re. Watch things.
A
And she rewatched it right now.
C
Oh, my God.
A
It is. I miss Harry so bad, though. I miss him. But. But I haven't started. Have you. Are you caught up?
C
I'm not all caught up for the. The finale.
A
So, yeah, today. My plan after this is to start season four of Industry. I'm so excited.
C
Yeah. Who's your. Who's your favorite person on industry of all seasons?
A
Yes.
C
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I love.
A
She is. She gives me full body chills. Like.
C
Yeah.
A
Yaz is, like, ripping lines of coke, killing her dad. Like. Like, people over left and right. Like, oh, my God, she makes me sick.
C
Diva. I love that. I. My favorite, obviously, is Harper. You know, Mahala, you know, well, she.
A
Well, she is. She's a cutthroat.
C
Yes.
A
She over is his. What's his name in the show? Her boss. Is it Eric? When she over Eric at that retreat. At that retreat in season three, and she sits across from him like this. I mean, and if you know her in person. Have you ever met. Mahalo in person.
C
I was too nervous to talk to her. I was at the Burberry show in London. I was so scared.
A
She is the nicest, funny TikTok, the funniest tiktoks, the nicest, one of the nicest people I've ever met. It is so funny because in the show, Harper is like. Do you remember that scene in season one where Harper up and she's chewing on gum and then her tooth, like, falls out? It's seriously one of the best shows on television. I. And by the way, I've been an industry fan. I cut you off.
C
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I. No, no, no, no, no, no. Keep going.
A
I've been an industry fan since season one came out. Like, I've been on the train since that show came out, and no one was watching it.
C
Me too. And I feel like it's still, like, slept on and.
A
No, no, it's, you know, now.
C
But, like, it's not. It's gonna. It's the gift that just keeps on giving.
A
You know what it's gonna have? Because it's next season. It's final season. It's gonna have its Succession moment.
C
It's gonna have a succession moment. And I love David Johnson. He's. He was in season one and two. When did he leave? Yeah, he like left the firm and started working in politics in the show.
A
Oh, yes. He's not in the show anymore.
C
Yeah, he left. I forgot how he left.
A
But that show was.
C
Yeah, yeah. But also I think industry is like, for me to have a black woman at the helm of the show and it's such a, you know, I feel like it should be critically acclaimed but like elite cinematic show. And to see her like grace that show with just such, you know, presence and performance. I think for me that show is important. I think that's why I love industry even more.
A
Right.
C
Especially in the finance. Finance world where it's like a. It's a very toxic male dominated field. And to see her journey and to see her outside of, you know, industry, I think I love her personality from what I've perceived and you know, and I, I'm big on like, personality and just not taking things too serious and I feel like she's the epitome of that. And, you know, I'd love to do something with her. Yeah, she's her and David, that's it.
A
She's so excellent in everything she does. Have you seen Leave the World Behind?
C
I have not seen.
A
She's in Leave the World Behind. She's amazing in it. She's in Bodies, Bodies, Bodies. Yeah, she's incredible in that. She's booked and busy.
C
Booked and busy.
A
Because she, I mean, she can act.
C
Yeah, yeah, yeah, she can act.
A
And her, my. Just like her relationship with Yaz in the show is so fun because they're also friends in real life.
C
Yeah.
A
So it's so fun to see.
C
Yeah, I, I was too nervous. I should have said something at the show.
A
You should have. She's the nicest. She's so kind.
C
I was like one person from her and I was just like. And those. And that's the anxiety and like, who am I to be talking to them or you're you. Yeah, but that's what we were talking about earlier. You're like, like Olivia Dean was in the room.
A
You're like, oh, I love Olivia Dean. Oh, well, who are you listening to?
C
Olivia Dean. You know, I think Olivia Dean's just. Man, watching her win Grammy. The Grammy for best new artist, I think she goes platinum in this household, you know, and she has a song for any type of type.
A
Any type of feeling.
C
Type of feeling.
A
Oh, she really does.
C
Yeah. Like, Slowly is a great Song. You know, obviously you have, like, the Man I Need.
A
It's just, you know, when you hear a song for the first time and you're like, that's an instant classic.
C
Yeah.
A
When I heard Man I Need for the first Time, I was like, that's a classic.
C
Yeah. And she's so chic. Meeting her.
A
So she.
C
I. I spoke to her.
A
I was like, was she nice?
C
She's so nice. She was, like, about to grab water, and I knew it was sparkling water, and I was like, no, no, no, no. It's sparkling water. And she was like, oh, thank you so much. So I basically saved her life. And the reason why you're gonna get more Olivia Dean is because of me. Yeah.
A
So who else are you listening to right now?
C
Who else? I'm a big. You probably never heard of this artist before, but Rod Wave, he's a Florida.
A
Why would I have not have heard of Rod Wave?
C
Really?
A
He's huge.
C
Yeah, he's huge.
A
Well, he's huge Rod Wave.
C
And he's a big Olivia Dean fan, too. He sings Give Me a few Tombstone.
A
He sings that song with Sadie Jean on it too.
C
Yes. No, he has great Gatsby. He has thug motivation.
A
He sells out, like, arenas, but he
C
really rides for Olivia Dean.
A
Really?
C
Like, I went up to Olivia Dean. I said, you're my favorite artist's favorite artist.
A
What are you doing now?
C
What am I doing?
A
No, like that. That's not. What do you do?
C
Oh, yeah. And I met Sadie briefly, too.
A
She is so sweet.
C
She's the nicest. Yeah, I think. Didn't that song go viral on Tick Tock?
A
And then he picked and then he
C
sampled it, but he has a few
A
other ones that I.
C
And he brings people on tour, like.
A
Yeah, he brought her on tour.
C
Yeah. Yeah, he brings her on tour when he had no business doing that.
A
Have you heard the. Have you seen the videos? Have you. Have you seen him live?
C
No, I don't. I don't know.
A
I. When I realized how big he was is when he was performing and the audience was screaming the lyrics back, bro. What other. What songs did he sing?
C
Turks and K25.
A
Street runner.
C
What's the Street Runner? Street Runner.
A
I love that song.
C
Yeah. Street Runner.
A
I love that song, bro.
C
Street.
A
That was my covert song that came out during COVID I think.
C
What's the one where he lost his. His. His uncle. He lost his uncle. It's. It starts with the L. I can't think of it right now, but it was on the 25 with the same album. 25 was on.
A
He's great.
C
So Olivia Green, Shout Out. I haven't been to his concert either one.
A
Who else? Olivia Dean Rodway.
C
Can I look at my.
A
Please, I would love you to.
C
Wait, are we Spotify or Apple?
A
Spot. We're Spotify in this household.
C
What are you Spotify?
A
Yeah. Come on.
C
Are you, like a. Do you love LA or New York better?
A
La.
C
I know. How are you holding up being in New York?
A
I'm from here.
C
Oh, yeah.
A
So it's, like, a lot of memories coming back.
C
Yes. Sienna Rose. Have you heard of Sienna Rose? Golden Skin. She's just in the same type of vibe.
A
So you like, like, slow.
C
Yeah. So Sienna Rose, you have Dejon I.
A
The new Dijon album is.
C
Yeah.
A
Well, have you heard his song with Bon Iver?
C
No, which one is that?
A
Day One.
C
Day One.
A
So it's maybe my song of the year, besides this other Bonnie
C
bro. I just started, like, I. When albums come out, I, like, don't give them the attention because I'm like, oh, I gotta give it some time, let it die down. Don't let people affect me. But, you know, the new Justin Bieber, the Swag album, I've just started, like, really consuming that.
A
Yeah.
C
And that. So that's really important to me.
A
It's like Journalist 2.0.
C
Exactly.
A
It's very much. It's giving, like, this is the music Justin wanted to make. Yeah. Is the vibe.
C
Yeah.
A
What's an album that's changed your life?
C
What's the name of this Last Rod Wave album?
A
So he's your number one artist?
C
He's my number one. Played.
A
Yeah.
C
Last Lap was the song. Last Lap, too.
A
I need to give it a listen.
C
Yeah. Because I think Last Lap, the song. I remember where I was. I was leaving South Africa and I was in the airport and the song dropped. I remember there was clips on Twitter and I was just, like. Just trying to, like, inject it into my veins. And I think I. I like sad music.
A
I love sad music.
C
I love a sad, sad song. And, you know, I. Say it again. Favorite sad song. My favorite sad song. And we'll get into that one last lap. Because, you know, his. His uncle, he lost his uncle, and I lost a brother, an older brother.
A
I'm so sorry.
C
Just don't let it happen again.
A
What'd you say? What did you just say?
C
You said sorry. I said, don't let it happen again. I never know what to say when people say sorry. Like, just. All right, moving on. No, I got it. Everything's fine.
A
I Got it.
C
Everything fine.
A
I don't. But, like, I understand what you're saying. I am sorry, though.
C
Yeah, no, I appreciate that. And, yeah, I think things that make that reword how you feel or put into, like, a song. And, like. And I think with Rod Wave, a lot of his songs, like, they aren't all just lyrics. It's like the filling that it puts into your body.
A
That is the same way I feel about Bon Iver.
C
Yes.
A
It's like, he. Like, he has. And honestly, Taylor.
C
Is that how you say his name?
A
Yeah. Bon Iver.
C
Okay.
A
And, like, they're like. It's like, it's. It's like the production, like. Like the production, like, makes you feel. Like it makes you think of a place.
C
Yeah.
A
It makes you think of a feeling. Yeah, like. Like, when I listen to, like, there's this Taylor Swift song called Tis the Damn Season. And, like, the. The drum biggest. The strum of the guitar chord, like, makes me think about when I lived in the suburbs when I was a kid.
C
Yeah.
A
Like, it makes me, like, I feel like I'm there. Like, that's real good music.
C
It's a halftime. I don't even remember the lyrics. I just remember, like, the feeling. Yeah.
A
Yeah.
C
And, like, about. It's the journey of success. And, like, I think Tombstone or Thug Motivation. Like, there's a point in the song where I, like, I can't.
A
Oh, I've heard Thug Motivation.
C
Yeah, that's.
A
That's fire song.
C
I'm clipping that and then really going to photo. I'm an Instagram dumb.
A
Jake has heard Thug Motivation.
C
You post something recently. You like. I do not want to admit how much time I put into this photo dump.
A
And do you? I mean, I put my back. My balls, my.
C
Like, every ounce. It's like nothing matters.
A
I was literally, like, curating it. Like, I was.
C
Can I tell you, I was at this brunch, and then my friend's like, oh, yeah, Rihanna's about to come. And I'm like, but I'm mid photo dump. Like, I'm locked in, like, three French 75s deep. And I'm like, you know how it is.
A
And you picked it. Do you pick the song, too? You picked the song, and you always have to make sure the song is something that's, like, you actually like it. But people are like, but it can't be controversial. I know he listened to that.
C
Yeah. It has to be like, oh, you know, ball.
A
Yeah.
C
But it's like, you. You've asked, like, three friends, like, what's a good song for this. And they're, like, saying the most niche song ever.
A
What's the photo dump you're most proud of ever?
C
Most proud of.
A
Oh, my God. This is so fun. I need my phone. Yeah, I need my phone. I want to find my most proud photo dump ever. Oh, I'm so excited because I think I know mine. Japan was great.
C
Okay, photo. Photo dumps are very, very important because it. They tell. Tell us about your personality. But I was on this at this brunch with Rihanna, and I'm like, hey, so nice to meet you. I'm, like, stuck in between, like, photo and. But she was the sweetest, and I.
A
Okay, we'll trade phones because I need to see the photo dump you're most proud of. Okay, Ready?
C
So bad, baby. And it's effortless.
A
Look at this one. The cigarette at the bar.
C
A siggy. A drunk siggy. You chose that song.
A
Yeah, no, Instagram did, but I went with it. Oh, come on, come on, come on.
C
Ah, in the grocery store. That was iconic.
A
Yeah, that was iconic.
C
Iconic. You want to see mine now?
A
Yeah, I do. We can't air that with the song.
C
We could put.
A
Says who?
C
Copyright law. Would you say my. My 20. 20. 2025 photo dump is very solid? No. No. All right, so you had to go with the grunge. You know, this is 2025 dump.
A
Okay.
C
Okay, so it says 2025.
A
Play. Play the music. No, don't play. There is no music.
C
There's no music on this one. But the place is the world. Okay, where the world?
A
No, the Bronx.
C
You say the Bronx from the same place.
A
The Bronx?
C
No, the world. So I have the mother hat on.
A
Yeah.
C
And then we go here.
A
Oh, wow. This is good so far. And you did a full 22.
C
Yeah, man just trying his best in 2025. A little.
A
Good.
C
The diva I am. Karen.
A
This is great.
C
It's like I was.
A
I was going for like, oh, love this glasses, dog. You don't even up. I didn't even know you were. You said, I didn't even know you were filming.
C
Yeah, I didn't even know you filming.
A
Jp I need to find my photo with him.
C
So I had a barber. I had a barber. They said they knew how to cut hair. Yep. And this was starting. This was right before. This was right before my. My him press tour. She was like, oh, it's easy fix. I'll come back either Sunday, Monday, fix it. And I was like, new one. A little golden. We're gonna have to mute this.
A
This Song is a banger.
C
I know.
A
Ready?
C
Yeah. You know, you had a little. Had to do it to him a little KC again.
A
You look really good.
C
Thank you. Thank you. Shout out to my trainer.
A
Oh, that's a great. That's a fire swipe. And you put your back into that.
C
I put bro. It's my most, like, dumb.
A
Really?
C
Yeah. It's when you put that heart into it and people love the balance.
A
Yeah.
C
I think that that's why TikTok works so much. Because TikTok, you'll scroll. You'd be crying, and the next one you'd be laughing, crying, laughing. I think it just keeps you engaged. So. Not that I was trying to do that, but, like, I think that's what.
A
That's a great. That's a great dump.
C
Yes.
A
Dumping is so fun.
C
Yeah. And do you have those select friends or you, like, you have the vision that I want and you ask them, hey, what do you think?
A
I have a best friend named Julia who is like, we'll post like five dumps a week.
C
Yeah.
A
She's really good at it. So I always say to her, like, is this a good dump?
C
Yeah. Yeah. And are you good at captions?
A
Yeah, My captions are usually just like, yeah, fun. Yeah. Yeah. Less is more.
C
This is more.
A
Okay. Are you ready to get into the tell me what's wrongs, or do you need to take a pee break or.
C
Yeah, piss break.
A
Yeah, go take a pee break. I've been talking to this guy for a little over a month.
C
Talking to this guy. Men. I'm just saying.
A
Well, you're in a lot of movies about him. Reminders of him. I've been talking to this guy for a little over a month. We do everything that people in a relationship would do. Have met each other's families. I've traveled three plus hours multiple times to visit him and talk. 247 this past weekend, I was visiting him at his college and found a girl as his pin text. Wait, has she found a girl as his pin text? Which includes save shirtless pictures of him and her and their chat via LinkedIn and my old and my own skills. I found out that she was from another state and they met at a career fair at his college. Literally, what do I do? So he's run, run.
C
He's the devil. Ah, that's tough.
A
It's giving. Have you seen that movie with Logan Lerman and Molly Gordon where he's like, she's not exclusive.
C
And then she ties the bed? Yeah, it's. So now is it like Advice do I give?
A
Yeah. What's your advice?
C
My advice? He's a narcissist. And I think, damn.
A
Why do you think he's a narcissist? Because she hasn't clarified whether that they've had an exclusivity conversation.
C
Yeah. Okay, so dtr.
A
Okay. You were big on that.
C
You're big on dtr. But I'm not like, careless, you know what I'm saying? Like, House, how soon you first DTR if you don't know what DTR is? Define the relationship. And. But he's. Man, that's tough. How soon?
A
Yeah, I was gonna say, how soon do you think it's okay to be like, what are we doing here?
C
Yeah, Yeah. I think it's. If you're intimate, like sexually with a person, and I think after that happens
A
after you or after.
C
Right before. That's not her, man. I think it's very disrespectful that he's, like, trying to play, you know, have his cake and eat it too, or Kate and Edith too. I don't know what's. It's. Yeah.
A
Have his cake and eat it too. But, like. Okay. For my own personal research purposes right now.
C
Yeah.
A
If I've been on dates sexually intimate. Not now. Right. I don't think I can now. Right.
C
No, you can do whatever you want.
A
What do you think?
C
Are you okay with them seeing other people?
A
Yeah. I mean, yeah. Right now. Of course. Of course.
C
I think when you get to that point of like, Okay, I would not like them with so. With other people. Yeah.
A
I love that.
C
Yeah.
A
Love that.
C
But it sounds like whoever's asking that, whoever wrote that is not. Not cool with that. And I think communication. And I think that relationship sounds like it's kind of over because it's long distance too.
A
Right.
C
And now he probably. If she's pinned conversationally.
A
Yeah.
C
And imessage.
A
Right.
C
That I've only. I only have like three people.
A
And who are your pens?
C
My pen is my mom and my publicist.
A
Really?
C
Chelsea? Because she.
A
Yeah, she's a vibe.
C
Yeah, she is a vibe. She. I'm telling you, I love her so much.
A
I want to hang out with you.
C
Yeah. Yeah. My mom.
A
I feel like we talk mad. Okay. Ready?
C
Yeah.
A
My college boyfriend and I broke up a few months ago, and then this funny and helpful drug dealer came in my life. He's like, obsessed with me, but all I wanted was a rebound. Low key. Love what he provides. Lol. But I don't want to get in too deep. Like, what if the FBI comes in my door. But he's so good in bed, as drug dealers are. Not that I've ever had sex with one. But listen, you can't. You can't. Have you seen Breaking Bad? You can't.
C
But think about it. Free drugs. Free. Free good sex.
A
But drug dealers have.
C
You know, I get a little toxic. I. You know, I'm not gonna be like that. Like, guys run away. I'm a. You know, I have a little edge. You know, have your fun, live your life. Go.
A
What's the most toxic thing you've ever done?
C
Toxic thing I've ever done. That's it. That's. I'm trying to think what I can. Can say. I've come a long way. I've kind of come a long way. I've been humbled, though.
A
Really?
C
Yeah. La humbled me a lot, you know.
A
Yeah.
C
So it balanced out the. The dirt I've done when I was in, like, college. And, you know, it's just like, it was college. We're having fun. We're all broke and horny and stuff like that. So. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
A
So, yeah, I would maybe just have some fun, but, like, that's not your boyfriend. That's not. Yeah.
C
Don't catch feelings. Get up out of there. Like, try to keep it, like, brief, because if there's a FBI raid, it's not.
A
I mean, it wouldn't land on you. I'm telling you, like, legality wise, like, you're not the one dealing the drugs, but. Yeah, that might be traumatic for you. I was waiting in line to walk across the stage at my college graduation ceremony. As I went to fix my cap, my phone was unlocked in my hands, and I accidentally forwarded my dad a dick pic that my situationship sent me reading, Happy graduation Day. Help. He wouldn't look at me for the rest of the day. I'm gonna make you feel better really quickly one time. Do you. Do you know what Grindr is?
C
Yes.
A
I downloaded Grindr Premium, and it sent my dad an email, and he texted me saying, I don't have a problem with it, but you cannot charge Grindr to my credit card.
C
Grindr, I thought, was a dating app. So did he assume that Grindr was a dating app?
A
I mean, I know people that have met the loves of their lives on Grindr, but Grindr is.
C
I had a roommate in my freshman year of college. We. We had a. An apartment, and it was random roommate. And I think he was, like, a Grindr all star.
A
Really?
C
Yeah.
A
Why? Did you hear bump in the Middle
C
of the night, it was like he had motion. He was, he was like the monarch of motion.
A
Really.
C
He. Every night it was somebody, somebody knew. He'd walk around the house, pierce nipples.
A
Oh, wow.
C
Blast the music up. Just blast.
A
Oh, he was a grinder.
C
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
A
I would say you just need to ignore it and pretend that it never happened.
C
Yeah.
A
Also literally pretend that it.
C
Also you can like, why? Why somebody send you a dick pic
A
and say, happy graduation day.
C
That's the problem.
A
Really. I say, thank you so much, let's get involved later.
C
I just couldn't do it.
A
Why does that, why do I like that?
C
I've. I've dreamt. Well, I guess like, you know, I. I see the vision. Yeah. For you, so what? I see the vision. If you like it, you like it. I'm not gonna yuck your yum.
A
Thank you, I appreciate that. I mean I wouldn't be like, this is like the love of my life. I'd be like, yeah, that's cheeky and cute. Like, let's. Later, after I graduate, I just, I. My friend broke my digital camera one day after I got it. I was generous and asked her if she could maybe pay 50 of it, which works to be for €40. And all she has to say is, I have no money yet. The same night when we go to the club, she's always buying herself and others drinks and constantly going out and spending like, help. That is a bad friend. That is a bad friend.
C
Broke, bad friend, broke behavior. It's just like she's not prior, she's not prioritizing. That's not a friend. That's not a friend. Especially €40.
A
Yeah.
C
What is that like 60 USD?
A
Yeah. She's like. And she's buying drinks at the club, which will equate to that one drink
C
is like a million billion dollars.
A
I, as a 24 year old adult have officially shit my pants on the 405 on the way to a job interview. My Life is a 2000s comedy movie. I still went into the interview but I was so late because I had to pull over, go into a store and change clothes while getting dirty looks the whole time that they didn't even give me the light of day. This is going to be a huge hit to my self esteem. So what do I do to ignore that? Everybody shits their pants sometimes.
C
You just can't think about it.
A
You can't move on.
C
You got to move on.
A
You know, it's your body, it's your
C
body, it's your body. And then Nobody has to know. I think they're perceiving. People are giving them dirty looks, but it's like, oh, just going to the bathroom and.
A
Right. I prescribe the movie Bridesmaids to make yourself feel better.
C
Yeah, Yeah, I definitely agree with that.
A
Oh, okay. Well, those are it for the. Tell me what's wrong.
C
God. Yes.
A
Well, Tyreek, what did we learn today?
C
What did we learn?
A
We learned that, you know what we learned there's three sides to every story. Me, you, and the truth.
C
We learned that we both are, you know, over. We chronically overanalyze.
A
Well, Tyreek, thank you for coming on the show.
C
Thank you.
A
Please watch reminders of him. It is incredible. I got the pleasure of seeing it last night. It was amazing.
C
Thank you.
A
Thank you for being here.
C
Before I leave, I want to say thank you for allowing me in your space. You. Yeah. This is one of my favorite interviews, but bye.
