Christy
Hey, it's Christy from Lululemon and I'm here at the office checking out the Shake it out shorts. These have been my go tos and I kind of think of them as a middle ground between a true run short and a more playful, athletic, sporty short. They have all the performance you want for running, so a comfy liner, our lightweight swift fabric, even a pocket for your keys. But what I really like is the flowy fit and layered hem. It gives it a little bit of volume, a little bit of fun, so they feel as good on a run as they do just at coffee afterwards. You can find the Shake it out shorts in store now or online@lululemon.com.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Hi, guys. Welcome back to Therapists. I am recording this on my new Osmo that I got you guys. I got a new osmo. They are really worth the hype, let me tell you. Like, it makes filming life so much more fun. And so it's. It's so easy. It's just. I highly recommend. All that goes to say is I'm recording this intro from New York. I just got back from Spain with Peyton, Julia, Cass, and Sally. And I was in Paris for a bit. Oh, my God. Not me, like, telling you my real summer, you guys. So I just got. I just got back. I don't know why it doesn't. That doesn't even matter to this intro at all. It's actually not what I Like what I'm trying to say. Okay, hold on. Let me collect myself for a second. I think I just, like, really need to talk to the camera for like five seconds. I'm back in New York. I'm seeing Omar tonight with Meg Sultor. I'm so excited. I'm so excited. The weather's a little strange right now. There's always that, like, weird pocket of a season, like late January, early fe. Oh, like that. Like that pocket is right now in summer, I'm alone for, like, more periods of time. So I just kind of like learning how to. To be alone and not spiral. Like, be productive instead of spin out, you know what I mean? And I know that sounds like so easy, but it's really not like it is so easy to pick a fight. Tonight on Therapist, we have Cat eye. I am obsessed with cat's eye. I'm obsessed with cat's eye. I saw them live at Coachella with Charlie, Will, and Cassidy, and I just, like, really am a huge Cat's Eye fan. So this was. Was really, like, exciting for me. Like, you guys don't understand, like, when they perform my way on tour, like, I watch. I watch the whole thing through every time, and being able to see the connections that they have with each other in person was really special. So if you guys don't know much about cats, I am so excited for you to learn more about them. Okay, well, enjoy the episode. And I'm Pussies. Your new single, animal.
Danny
Amazing.
Sophia
It will be.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I felt like I was like. They sent it to me on a Dropbox links, and I was like, really?
Yoonjae
The honor.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I was like, okay, what was it like working with Ed Sheeran?
Sophia
He's so sweet.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
He's the sweetest.
Sophia
And he was like, I have the song for you guys. We were like, we didn't know, like, no way. And then so he, like, tells us, like, we've been working on this song with you guys, and when we heard the song, we were like, oh, we hear him. That's him in the.
Lara
Yeah, it's, like, very.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah, it's a very Ed Sheeran.
Danny
Yeah.
Sophia
And it's so fun, but.
Lara
But we got to work with Blake and Omer.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Got it. Yes.
Lara
Who did that? And they also did Touch for us. We love them. They're great.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
What was the biggest difference that you guys noticed from the CIS era to the gnarly era?
Megan
It was, like, the biggest switch ever,
Host (Therapists Podcast)
because I was about to say, I feel like sis. I mean, you guys were huge. But then gnarly. I remember seeing an interview of you guys talking about being like, we were scared for Gnarly to come out, and then everyone. It just. I feel like it. You guys exploded from it.
Danny
Yeah.
Lara
Yeah.
Megan
I think, like, gnarly. We, like, really took, like, a risk. I feel like. I feel, like, gnarly and, like, that whole EP Beautiful Chaos was just, like, more us. It was, like, a lot more. Like, we could be ourselves on stage more. I feel like EP1 was, like, a little bit more safe, especially since. Yeah, it's like we're kind of testing the water a little bit. But Gnarly was, like, a lot more raw and, like, a lot more in your face. But, yeah, we were definitely scared when we got.
Lara
I also. I also feel like in CIS era, there was, like, at least, like, from when Cat's Eye was, like, announced and then to that era, there was, like, an idea of what Cat's Eye was supposed to be and, like, what we were supposed to give. The vision, the music. Like, I think there was, like, a set, somewhat sort of plan, and then I think that we kind of, like, broke those rules. If that Makes sense like through our live streams, through, like, our individual expression, say, like, on our Instagram or like, even in performances. Like, I think, like, our authentic identity as individuals, but then also as a group started, like, breaking through. And so I think everyone kind of noticed, like, this is actually probably not like, the perfect vibe for them.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Right.
Lara
Like, they need something a little bit more messy and a little bit more crazy. So.
Yunche
Yeah, Yeah.
Megan
I think at times we were, like, trying to give gnarly during touch. Like our, like, performance wise, like, we would be, like, making, like, gnarly faces and they're like, this is not. We like that.
Yoonjae
Does it get.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Do you guys each have a favorite song to perform?
Sophia
Yeah.
Megan
Yeah.
Sophia
Well, I love performing Mia so much. I feel like that song specifically, we have the most freedom. We had, like, staging, but, like, the most freedom to really show our personality and like, almost freestyle on stage. But I feel like all of our other songs that sound like they need choreography, they have choreography.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Right?
Sophia
And it was the first time we get to really just have that kind of energy, but also show our artistry and move in our own bodies. And so, like, we craved a lot of that, a lot more. And I feel like Animal is also giving that, you know, like, when we first saw the Choreo, we were like, there's so much more room for us to show artistry and, like, freestyle more.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I'm so excited to see the Choreo.
Sophia
The Choreo is really exciting. Like, like, we're like, we. There's choreography and all that, but it's a lot more open and a lot more space for our own artistry and us for. To freestyle a lot more and just live and just sing the song. In comparison to Gnarly or Pinky up, we're literally moving. We're dancing. We're dancing.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Sophia
So I feel like Animal is going to be really fun to perform.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Right. Yoonjae, do you have a favorite song?
Yunche
I actually love performing Game Boy on the stage. Me too.
Megan
That's so fun.
Yunche
Yeah. Especially on, like, festival when we have all the winds and everything. Like, when we do Game Boy, I know Lara doesn't really like.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
You don't like Game Boy?
Lara
No, I love the song so much. I just. I don't like the choreography.
Sophia
She just gets.
Yunche
You get stitch every time.
Lara
I get a stitch.
Sophia
The runner's cramp.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Danny
Yeah.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Oh, you get it during Game Boy?
Lara
Yeah, I get it during Game Boy every time. Because there's like, so much like, hopping and jumping.
Sophia
Cardio.
Lara
It's cardio. So it's just, like. It's not quite my tea. But I love the song, right? Like, it's, like, a really good.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah, but I know what you mean with the festival where. Because when I saw you guys at Coachella, the. My favorite part about, like, seeing a performance at a festival is that especially in the desert, is, like, the desert wind blowing in the artist's hair as they're, like, performing. It feels, like, so ethereal.
Danny
Like, so.
Sophia
It's very difficult.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It's so pop star.
Danny
It was not, though.
Sophia
It's very. It doesn't feel as glamorous as it
Host (Therapists Podcast)
was
Megan
because my hair was in my face, and I was like, oh, my God, I just look so ugly right now. Like, I just can't.
Yoonjae
I'm choking on my hair. Like, I kept.
Megan
Like, my hair was in my mouth, and I was like, I just don't. I'm not giving right now, but.
Sophia
And the sand in your mouth.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It was weekend, too.
Danny
It was actually better. There was actually.
Megan
Weekend one was worse.
Danny
Yeah, there was less. Like, you know, we have our water
Sophia
bottles, and, like, there's a straw. The sand gets caught inside. So when I would drink it, it gets a little sandy when you're on stage, you're talking, like, you're kind of like.
Yoonjae
You're like.
Lara
It's like chewing on the sandwich.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It's like when you have a picnic on the beach and it gets in the sandwich.
Sophia
That was the entire culture.
Lara
We were wearing contacts and, like, a
Yunche
man was getting on.
Sophia
I took my contacts out right before I was. I can't do this. Like, I can't. Yeah, I couldn't do it.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Do you have a favorite song?
Megan
I like being really hot and sexy, so I really love Mia as well, because I feel like it's like, it gives us more freedom to, like, do whatever the fuck we want. Like, I could literally just be crawling on the floor and. Yeah, I feel like Emma, especially with, like, the live band, it makes me feel like. I feel like Britney Spears. Like, I feel. I feel like it. Like, I really embody, like, a pop star during that song and being able to, like, bounce around on stage and, like, do whatever I want. It's, like, so fun. Like, I think I like, a little bit more, like, no structure when it comes to, like, performances. But I think, am I also. Gnarly is pretty fun, too. But recently. Recently I've been having so much anxiety with that fucking song.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Why?
Megan
Because. Okay. Especially after dance break was added, it's usually, like, gnarly's usually at the end of Our set. And I'm like, winded. I'm so winded. And I have to, like, slide through these Laura's legs. And I, like, don't really get a break in that, like, dance break at all.
Yunche
And I'm like.
Megan
I'm like, like, panting.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I mean, that dance break, I will never forget. I opened up Tick Tock. I think it was the. I think you debuted it at your beautiful Chaos tour, right?
Danny
Yeah.
Lara
Yeah.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
And I remember opening it up Tick Tock. And I was just like, what the.
Megan
It's like so in your face.
Sophia
Like, you're not allowed to blink.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
You can't blink or you'll miss something. Yeah, it's the. It's. It's really incredible. Like, you guys should be so proud of yourselves. It's not an easy thing to put. Like, obviously it's not an easy thing to pull off, but, like, then to continue to do a show after that, I mean, I can barely get up my flight of stairs, truthfully.
Megan
But you know what's so funny? Like, I feel like we can do, like, whole sets, but then when it comes to, like, running or, like, walking, like, I can't run. I'm out of breath even.
Yoonjae
Yeah.
Lara
Up the stairs, up the stairs.
Megan
I still did. I still pant.
Lara
But then we can somehow get through the show.
Megan
Yeah, I, like, always think about that.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Like, dude, it's probably the crowd maybe. Yeah, it's probably the crowd and the adrenaline and rehearsal.
Lara
Like, we get through rehearsal, but then when I'm on a treadmill, I'm like, dying.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Treadmills, I'm always dying. Treadmills, I'm always dying. I can't go because you're like, I'm running to nowhere.
Danny
There's no motivation.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I have no motivation. I have no motivation. That makes sense. So your body's like, I'm out.
Sophia
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Megan
I also get, like, self conscious, like, pulling out my phone on a treadmill.
Sophia
Like, I feel like people are like,
Megan
what the are you doing?
Sophia
She, like, fell off the treadmill. Like, that's my fear.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Cut.
Danny
Oh, my God.
Lara
I used to feel so ugly and anxious at the gym because it's like, I'm not like a gym bro.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Lara
So it's like I, like, I always feel like I'm being watched.
Danny
I need a trainer.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah, I'm the same way.
Megan
I will.
Sophia
I will just sit there and walk around and touch the wipe and then that's it.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I'm the same.
Lara
Do you have a good trainer?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah, his name's Louis. He's amazing. You Guys would love him. He's really amazing. He's British.
Yoonjae
Wait, okay. He's amazing.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
You guys would love him. Yeah, he's.
Yoonjae
Can you send him over?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah, of course. Yes, he's that together. If I worked out with you guys, that would be the best day of my entire life.
Lara
We have a Cat's Eye ab workout.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
No, you don't.
Yoonjae
We should teach you.
Sophia
But you have to be singing Ariana at the same time. Yeah, yeah. We sing into you.
Lara
Oh, my God. I've heard.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I'm, like, literally gripping the pillowcase.
Lara
It was beautiful.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
You haven't heard, have you heard?
Megan
No, actually, I haven't heard it yet. I've only heard, so it's.
Yoonjae
Score.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It's unbelievable.
Sophia
Don't talk to me.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
She does, like, a little pre chorus hook and it's, like, so infectious.
Lara
Yes, it's beautiful. Also, her voice sounds so different, but it's like, the best way ever.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It sounds different.
Lara
I think it just sounds a bit more, like, deep and mature.
Sophia
I think it's also because she's getting off of, like, her placement in Glinda, which is so high and operatic that she's tapping back into the warmth and the grittiness.
Lara
Her voice sounds so warm.
Sophia
She has a range that goes beyond, like, our atmosphere.
Lara
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yoonjae
Like, she.
Lara
She taught me how to sing.
Sophia
She taught us how to sing.
Yoonjae
Yeah.
Sophia
Literally.
Lara
She's the best, I guess.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Always gag.
Lara
Yeah.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Do you have a favorite song to perform?
Lara
Oh, Mia, for sure. Because, like. Like, she said, like, I. I like. Because I'm not like, a dancer first. I love dancing and I love performing, but, like, I love movement more, I think, than, like, choreo. Like, I. I like being free. It's where I feel the most, like myself. It's also like, with any other song, like, there's no business to be, like, crawling and whipping your head and shaking out. But, like, am I like. You can like. It sounds like that and it's, like, fitting. So it's definitely my favorite.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It is kind of.
Lara
This is kind of.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Danny, what about you?
Danny
Yeah, Mia. But I will also shout out gnarly dance break just because I get a little moment where I do a handstand on someone's shoulders and they flip me over. And even though I'm, like, so gassed, it's just, like, so, like, cunty when I look back at the videos and I'm like, yes, you ate that.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Sophia
And I'm just like.
Danny
I don't know exactly. Like, that's what I've been. I've I'm like, first was a ballroom dancer, so that's, like, kind of like what I'm really good at. Just, like, Latin ballroom dancing. So whenever I get to do, like, hip movement and stuff, I'm always like, yes. Because that's what I grew up doing, and I love doing, so that's my favorite part.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah. I love that you guys all, like, are able to bring your, like, real love for, like, your ballroom dancing. Like, you're saying, like, everyone's, like, able to bring it into the group. I think that's what makes the group so special.
Danny
Yeah. We each have, like, our own little special thing that we.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I think that's one of my favorites.
Megan
Yeah.
Sophia
What's yours?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It's my way.
Lara
I was gonna say that, too. I love you, really.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Performing in My Way, it is emotional. I think it's, like. And especially when you guys all do your riffs. I've seen the riffs.
Yunche
Oh, thanks.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
And, like, I just die for it every time. Every time I see a video of you guys performing my way, I always watch it.
Lara
Wait, can I say something about my way?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yes.
Lara
I feel like Coachella was. I mean, tour as well, but especially Coachella was, like, a place where we finally got to, like, in, like, have my way performed in the way that we envisioned it and, like, dreamed of it being. And that was, like. It was so fulfilling. Yeah.
Danny
So fulfilling.
Megan
Like, even being able to, like, do harmonies on each other's, like, parts, too, and, like, being able to, like, reconstruct the melody and, like, be able to, like, look at each other. Like, before, we would do them with, like, literal, like. What is it? The headset mics, and it didn't feel right.
Sophia
We were learning this before we even debuted.
Danny
Right.
Sophia
And I have footage of us stripping it down to a beautiful piano arrangement and giving each other harmonies. That was always our vision for that song. I also.
Lara
I also feel that way with Mean Girls that Don't even play with me.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
That song. When I heard that song. Okay, when I first heard. Heard that song, you guys were sitting on cars in a parking lot or something.
Sophia
You were performing Miami or something. It was that, right, like this.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
You were, like, tailgating somewhere, and you were, like, sitting and. And you were doing. And you were dancing in Mean Girls. And I was like, what is this beat? I die for that song. And I love what you did on tour with the. The little. Yeah, yeah. God bless.
Megan
I hate that. I hate that.
Yoonjae
Like, I hate that.
Megan
It actually used to be something different, which was, like, even harder.
Danny
There was, like, A harder version.
Sophia
It was like, l. Oh, yeah.
Yoonjae
Yes.
Sophia
Sweet girls.
Yoonjae
You can still do it.
Yunche
I hated it.
Danny
I, like, forgot how to do it.
Megan
I'm like, I don't even know love. I'm dyslexic.
Yoonjae
As we were like. Because they kept being like, this is
Lara
like, for the queers.
Yoonjae
Like, let's do this for the queer. Like, as a queer. Like, as a queer, I would appreciate.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It was giving, like, cheese spank with the rainbow flags.
Yoonjae
We were spelling out, like, love is love.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Right.
Yoonjae
Which is like.
Lara
It's like, come on.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Right?
Sophia
It's okay. And we put it on TikTok. Like, hard version and easy version.
Yoonjae
Nobody. No one did the hard version.
Danny
Everyone just did the easy version.
Megan
We were trying to make it a trend and no one did it.
Danny
Did it. What the L with either of them.
Lara
I don't think anyone picked up with a thing. Like, this is for, like, gay.
Sophia
Gay love.
Yoonjae
I don't think anyone.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yes, they did.
Yoonjae
Yes, they did. They did.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
They absolutely did. They absolutely did. Tell me more. Justin Tranter, who wrote the track, came
Megan
out and said, well, yes, about the.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
He pitched the song to a lot of people and nobody would do it if the T girl song, if the T girl line was in it. But you guys did.
Lara
No, because we. We love the trans community and also we love our gays. Like, we also, like, our, like, whole career, our, I think, style, our music genre also who we work with is, like, inspired and built by the queer community and the trans community as well. So, like, it felt like a beautiful moment to like, shout that out in a song and really, like, show our love in a more impactful way rather than just, like, saying it.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah. You know, and that song, I, at least for me, has so much depth because, like, I listen to it when I'm feeling, like, really insecure because, like, you know what I mean? Because it's like, yeah, of course. Like, oh, my God. Like, that song, like, does is everything. That's my. I think that's my favorite song of your guys.
Danny
Really?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah. I just. I think it's really, like, messy in a really, like, beautiful way where you're, like, beautifully. God bless everyone. Like, even the mean girls. Because even the mean girls are so insecure.
Lara
Yeah.
Danny
Yeah.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
And, like, you forgive them because insecurity sucks and you get it. Yeah, it's just like, everyone makes mistakes, everyone fucks up. And I just think it's like a really. I don't know. I think a lot of your music is really, like. It's really, like, indicative of like, your cohesiveness as, like, a group. Like, I think, like, that's why I like my way so much because, like, you are doing your this your way. You know what I mean? Like, you're. You're made by. Kept your. Your. The group is made by K pop methodologies. But you've done it your way. And I think that's, like, why I like, love songs like that that you guys perform.
Lara
I agree. Yeah.
Sophia
It's her story.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah. Well, okay. I've never asked this many people this at the same time, but what are you guys therapist about today?
Danny
Oh, my God, I'm. Yeah, I have so many today. So many things.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yes. Just today or whatever. Yeah. Like, what are you angry about me
Sophia
mad about right now? Like, what's annoying you right now? Okay, go.
Danny
I have stupid, silly things.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
That's the point.
Danny
I am therapists about drivers in la. People don't know how to drive. Like, this morning, like, I almost got in a car accident because some stupid guy, like, merged into my lane eyes as I was merging into the same lane. And thank God I saw the car, because if not, I would have gotten into an a car accident. I wouldn't have gotten here on time, or I didn't get here on time. Either way.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
But obsessed with the fact that the car accident would have taken you out, but it just would have kept you from getting here.
Sophia
She's like, oh, my God, I could have been late.
Danny
And also, like, my back. My back is in so much pain. I'm in so much pain.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Danny
I'm in so much way. Why?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Because I don't know, I got a really bad knot in my back. And, like, it's like I'm like, creaking. Yeah.
Megan
Like, we're 20 now. Like, we got some issues.
Danny
Yeah.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
How old are all of you guys?
Lara
I'm 20.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
You're 20?
Danny
21.
Megan
I'm 20.
Yunche
18.
Yoonjae
18.
Sophia
Oh, my God, I'm 16.
Yoonjae
No, she's 16.
Megan
She's our oldest.
Sophia
23.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Things will start creaking soon.
Danny
Oh, gosh. No, they're already creaking.
Sophia
They've been.
Danny
They're already cricking.
Yoonjae
How old are you?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
26.
Yoonjae
You're young. You're such a big. No, you're young.
Sophia
No, you're always the same age.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I. I feel younger than I am sometimes, but then sometimes I feel like 40.
Lara
You're almost pushing 30.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I know.
Danny
No, you're.
Yoonjae
No, no.
Danny
How do you say those feelings?
Yoonjae
Why is that a bad thing? Because people take it.
Danny
People take it.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I lost and I never the city. Cuz it's just because I grew up in New York and I just find it so unrealistic. And I was like, I can't get behind this. You know what I mean?
Lara
Is not, it's not like New York is a lot more grimy.
Yoonjae
It's a lot more grimy.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
She's like, oh my God, my credit card backed out.
Lara
I'm like, yes.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
So you can't pay rent, right? Like, yeah.
Yoonjae
She's like, I can't get dinner.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah. I was like, what's going on? But she's 30 and she's thriving.
Sophia
30 and flirty. But when you say the term like pushing 30, it's.
Yoonjae
It's like.
Lara
But it's like you're pushing 30, like you're almost there. And. And I've. What I've.
Danny
I mean people take that like so
Lara
I'm like fetus, I'm a child. But what I've heard is that 30 is like, like in your 30s years of your life.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
That's what I've heard too. Cuz you're after your Saturn return.
Christy
Yes.
Danny
More an your Saturn.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Okay, so you're. Do you know, do you know about like your Saturn return and stuff?
Danny
I don't know what that is when you're 20.
Sophia
This place is sad and return.
Danny
You know what this,
Host (Therapists Podcast)
it's what Ariana talks about. But I'm like approaching it. And I know I'm approaching it because my body is telling me I'm approaching.
Danny
Please let me know what happens. I'm like so invested in this.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
You'll see what happens when you're 31.
Danny
Oh my God.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I'll literally crash out on live. What are you therapist about today?
Lara
Oh my God.
Yoonjae
Okay.
Lara
I'm therapist about many deep things. But I'm what I'm therapist, like what I'm therapist about. I drove past my ex on the street last night.
Yoonjae
Okay. Because
Lara
it's so annoying. I see my ex all the time. It's really annoying. We see each other all the time and it's honestly all love, like no bad vibes. But we just keep seeing each.
Danny
Wait, did you make eye contact on the street?
Lara
Well, I saw him but I don't think he saw me.
Danny
Were you at like a red light?
Megan
Like no, we were at a red
Lara
light, like random light.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Was he walking?
Yoonjae
He was driving. Our cars were next to each other
Lara
and I saw his window was down. He was like listening to music.
Yoonjae
He was like rapping in his car. And so I was like, oh my God. Like and I looked and I was like,
Megan
okay, well, I actually have two things I'm therapist about. One is at the AMAs. I had a fever and I had to get an iv. That still, like, looks like.
Yoonjae
Oh, my God.
Megan
Anyway, yeah, I had to, like, get this IV.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I get two IVs a week every single week.
Danny
Oh, wow.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
From my same girl, Beverly. She's amazing. And when I don't go to Beverly, my IV gets up.
Danny
Right.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It's all about, like, it's. It's about the. It's about the nurse and if they can find the vein to make you comfortable. It's like literal therapy.
Lara
How do you feel about the iv, though? Because sometimes that makes me really tired.
Megan
It gives me acne.
Sophia
Low key.
Lara
Really.
Megan
I'm breaking out. Every time that I get an iv, I break out. I don't know what. Maybe I'm just not.
Sophia
Maybe it's.
Megan
I'm not used to vitamins. I never take vitamins.
Yoonjae
Or maybe that's something.
Lara
You're allergic.
Sophia
That's why you're getting sick.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It might be something you're allergic to.
Megan
I'm allergic to a lot of things.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
What are you allergic to?
Megan
Allergic to everything. I'm allergic to shellfish, cinnamon, grass, cats.
Lara
The cinnamon is one.
Megan
Cinnamon is a big one.
Sophia
Cinnamon's a big one.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I don't like cinnamon.
Lara
Well, good.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I don't like cinnamon.
Yoonjae
Good.
Yunche
I know.
Lara
Tell them.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I know. I don't. It's never been my thing, so you're not for me. You're not missing out. And I also don't really with cats.
Yoonjae
Going to fight you. Wait. Let's go, boo. One, two, three.
Sophia
Wait.
Megan
One more thing. I'm therapist about.
Sophia
I hate dating.
Danny
I hate.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
More than likely, I hate dating.
Megan
And I genuinely am just an awkward person in general. So I'm putting myself out.
Yoonjae
You're not. You're not that awkward.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I think you don't need to be
Lara
awkward to give yourself way more credit.
Yoonjae
Really?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yes.
Yoonjae
She always says that she is, but
Lara
I think you actually are way more, like, magnetic and really, like. Like. What's the word? Like. Charming.
Yoonjae
Charming.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
You're very charming.
Megan
Thank you, guys. I feel like that doesn't come out when I'm dating. I'm like, oh, my God. I get so anxious that I'm like, oh, my God. This is, like, too much for me. It's too much for me. Oh, you know what I've been listening to recently? That, like, I feel so connected to the song the Cure by Olivia Rodrigo. Like, she ate with that. And I'm like, I Listen to that song like, maybe five times a day.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I was like, oh, I get it.
Megan
I relate to this a lot. I would, like, listen to it with my window down. Like, like, hair in my face. Like, I'm like. Like I feel this, like, in my
Host (Therapists Podcast)
soul because it's hard.
Yoonjae
She's like, driving.
Sophia
The red strings are on, like, the
Megan
red strings coming from me. It's hard to date. I hate dating.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It's hard to date also when you're like. I feel like for. When I'm like, dating, it's like I'm looking for dating to, like, bring me that security that I don't have.
Yoonjae
Yes.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
And it'll never be the cure.
Megan
I guess I have to, like, work on myself, whatever.
Lara
No, but I also think it's really hard in our situation to like, date as if we were our age, if that makes sense. And, like, play around, like, cook up with people and just like, figure out, like, our life is. We are our age, but our life feels like we are way older. And so it's like we need someone that has their figured out too and also is, like, all about us.
Danny
Yeah.
Lara
They need to be like, I want you. And, like, I'm willing to take on all the things that you're going through as well.
Megan
Exactly. I'm not trying to play any games.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah, games are miserable.
Megan
They're so miserable.
Sophia
You guys are also like 20. Like everyone else that's like 20. A lot of people who are your age are, like, still in college, like, just got into.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah, especially college when I was your guys's age and I wasn't dating at all. I started dating when I was 22.
Lara
Really?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
That was when I went on my first date when I was 22 years old.
Lara
Really? Yeah.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
And it was miserable.
Yoonjae
It's miserable. Like, it's not fun.
Lara
I think it's especially the boys too. Like, girls are different, but I think boys are like, like, I'm like, figure
Megan
your shirt out slower. I'm not trying to, like, tell you.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It's just. I can't date here. I've tried it so many times. It's very, very hard for me. I don't know what it is about it, but I think I like dating someone that maybe isn't in the industry.
Lara
Yeah.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I don't know.
Yoonjae
Why.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I don't know. That sounds so gross to say, but, like, it really, like.
Sophia
No, but everything. The thing is, when you live in la, a lot of people come here to sell themselves and make it. You know what I mean? And it's. It almost Feels transactional when you try to make connections with people, you know, and even if you're not trying to, oh, there's a squirrel outside, A girl, a squirrel.
Yoonjae
Oh, who is watching.
Sophia
Naturally have this instinct to connect with people through something that's like, I'm trying to sell myself to you also, because, like, you never know who you're speaking to in la. It's like you're trying to network, but then sometimes that bleeds into when you try to connect with somebody authentically and it's just like, naturally, like, everybody in LA just happens to be that. And it's so hard to find somebody that just wants to be your friend.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
But I. I think it's also like, it's like you can get so jaded by, like, all these incredible cool things that are happening. And I think in la, everyone kind of lets you be jaded when you're dating them because it's like, it's like, oh, this is just normal, but.
Lara
Whereas if I are that way, no, it's not healing.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah. But when. If you're in New York. If I'm in New York and I'm going on a date and they're like, oh, my God, what you're doing, that's so co. That you're doing that. That's so cool. It's like, I need that. I need someone to, like, remind myself
Lara
that, like, the New York are way more real.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Way more real.
Lara
It is true. I. I do think they're. I, like, I always felt like my relationships in New York were a lot messier, but they were a lot more real.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Lara
And like, I, I think that they give less.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah, they do.
Lara
And just like, in general. So the whole public thing of it all too, is. Is tough because, like, it's difficult because also with our situation, the dating, and, like, people knowing who we're dating has always been, like, really iffy. Because in K pop, that's like, not. I, at least, I think, like, the way we started it was something that we were like, we're never gonna do that and, like, never gonna show who we're dating. And that's just how it's gonna be. And then I think as time went on, things just got a little bit messy and things would leak and, like, people would somehow find out who we're
Christy
dating,
Lara
which wasn't, I think, like, by our choice. Yeah, that makes sense because, like, I don't know, once people start to put their opinions on a relationship, if you guys are not really locked the in, it puts pressure. It really puts A lot of pressure.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Are you guys. Do you guys try to stay offline in that case? But it's hard to stay offline.
Danny
Yeah, no, but it's really not.
Megan
You just delete it cuz it's on your phone.
Danny
Me and Laura, we deleted Tik Tok. We deleted Tik Tok. We only like go on Instagram reels, which have nothing to do with Cat's eye. I feel like for some reason Tik Tok, like the algorithm like immediately is Cat's Eye. So I'm like
Sophia
Danny's phone myself. And I.
Danny
She like put like the time every
Sophia
single thing that's possibly related to Cat's eye.
Danny
Yeah, that's why like all the words, like every.
Sophia
That's why her Instagram is.
Yoonjae
But you know what?
Danny
It did not work, girl.
Sophia
Like, I still see things.
Yoonjae
It's.
Sophia
You still see things because you get numb to it.
Lara
It's.
Yoonjae
It's because when you really.
Sophia
When you get numb to it, it's like when I see hate and all
Lara
that they still just post us without
Sophia
you see it and it's like it doesn't. It doesn't affect you anymore. Like, I feel like I remember.
Lara
I.
Sophia
Sorry.
Danny
Like you're numb to it.
Sophia
Yes, exactly. Like, I remember when we were first starting and we were getting all these things. Even for me personally, I'm the type of person, like, I really don't care. Like you could even say it to my face, I really don't care. But what was bothering me was the way that it like lingers because I could see all these good things, but when I see something, it's like. It's like. It's like a bug in your mind. And that's what was bothering me. I'm just like. I just don't want to like be even like remembering it or being affected by it. And I remember I. I remember texting like Yunjin from the Seraphim. I was like, how do you guys do this? You know, because they gave Brittan through the ringer and it's. She was just like, honestly, like, there's no way around it other than just like you kind of just grow numb to it. And so now when I see TikToks or comments like they're just gonna show up, but I just see them and I'm just like. It's just like nothing. To me. I realize that the Internet is just a space that people feel so comfortable to just speak.
Lara
Yeah.
Sophia
And I have no control over that. But I have control over what I decide to do with What I'm seeing, because I made a choice to look at a platform that people that is just gonna expose so many things to me.
Lara
We also made a choice to, like, put ourselves in the eye.
Sophia
Exactly. Like, we chose this life. And we just have to find the things that we can control. And we can control training ourselves to see certain things. We can control the visibility, like ourselves, like, putting ourselves in there. We can't control what's there.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Right.
Sophia
Yeah, only. Only to a certain extent.
Lara
So it's just never gonna change.
Sophia
It's just building that tolerance. And so now I'm just plainly numb to it. And I don't. I don't give a fuck.
Lara
I. I also feel. I also feel kind of like. Like, I. I mean, it sucks, but I do feel weirdly grateful for it because I think it's taught me, like, so much grace for other people in life. Like, it's. It is tough. Like, I think a lot of amazing people are sometimes, like, really hated.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Lara
Because, like, they have so much nuance. And they're like real people.
Sophia
Especially artists.
Lara
Especially artists. Creative people are like, real messy people. And, like, things have. They say things that need context. And, like, the Internet is anti that. It's so black and white.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
So black and white.
Lara
They don't know how to see nuance. They don't care anything. They don't care to look.
Sophia
Run with it.
Yoonjae
Yeah.
Lara
They don't care to look for the nuance because it's just like they're so excited to jump on a train to hate someone. So I think it's like, I. I used to. When I was young because we all kind of grew up in, like, cancel culture, so I think I.
Danny
Gross.
Lara
I think, like, when I was like, a young teen, I used to also think like that. And when I would see artists or like, say, like, they say something bad, I'd be like, yikes, like, canceled.
Yoonjae
But now I'm like. Now I'm like, no.
Lara
Like, people deserve grace.
Danny
Absolutely.
Lara
It obviously depends on the situation and what people have said and done. But it's like, I think in. In a lot of cases, like. Like, people deserve a chance to grow or to explain themselves.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Right.
Lara
That makes sense. Like, nuance is just so important, and it's. It's taught me to be a lot kinder to people and make less judgment the way that I wouldn't want them to judge me off of, like, a. A clip taken out of context.
Danny
Exactly.
Sophia
Also, a lot of these people don't have original thoughts.
Yunche
Yeah.
Sophia
Like, they. They literally. It has. Somebody starts It.
Danny
Yeah.
Sophia
Somebody always starts it based on the tiny, tiny little information that they know, filtered literally on your screen on a little rectangle, Right? And then they'll see that. They'd be like, oh, my God. Yeah, this person's right. Let's get really loud. They could literally just be like. They could literally fill this room, but they could sound like a whole stadium.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Sophia
And that's why, like, that's why just to bring it back to, like, when. When we perform and all that stuff, when we have something going on and it's just so loud on the Internet. I would literally be on my phone and look like, wow, my phone is blowing up with people checking in on me. Like, it's so loud. I put my phone down. I'm in a restaurant. Nobody fucking knows who I in this room.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Right?
Sophia
Yeah, nobody knows. And then I go to some place like Coachella, and we're in the Sahara tent, right? So there's this whole tent in front of us, and we just see this crowd of people, and I'm like, wow, this is a lot of people. And then I see the drone footage when I go online, and it's even bigger. People alone that came to Coachella to even just be there. They can't even see us or hear us all the way from the back. But they showed up, all of those people outnumbered. The amount of people that are actually making all this noise online.
Lara
Yes, truly.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It's, like, puts things in perspective.
Sophia
Think that the Internet is the whole world, but it's not. Not Stan. Twitter could easily be, like, cat's eyes done. No, we're not.
Lara
Yeah, we're not, period.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Clip it.
Megan
Clip that.
Sophia
We're just girls doing our best to empower and to impact the world and fulfill our dream. We just want to sing.
Yoonjae
And then you're like, oh, my God.
Megan
Cat's eyes done.
Sophia
Like, I'm so mad at that face she just made. Like, close your eyes.
Yoonjae
Flops.
Sophia
Like, flops eye. Like,
Lara
literally.
Yoonjae
You don't even know Flops.
Sophia
I could literally go to your neighbor and ask them, do you know who I am? They're gonna be like, no.
Lara
Yeah, exactly.
Sophia
Like, you guys, come on. Like, the Internet is not everything. Like, go catch some butterflies.
Yoonjae
Yeah, go look at.
Megan
No, seriously, Sky.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It is summer, which means festival season has arrived. Gracie Abrams is going on tour. Ariana Grande is on tour. Ryan Beatty just announced his tour. There are so many concerts to see with such little time. And that's why SeatGeek makes it so easy to see every single one of them, because it is the best place to buy tickets. You can use my code therapist for 10% off your order. It rates each ticket on a scale from 1 to 10, 1 being not the best, 10 being the best. Once again, that is code therapist for 10% off. Thank you, Seatgeek, for sponsoring tonight's episode.
Lara
So,
Host (Therapists Podcast)
and also, like, I feel like it's just people, like, dying for community and like, it's like loneliness epidemic.
Sophia
God bless them.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
God bless them.
Yoonjae
God bless the
Host (Therapists Podcast)
insecure.
Sophia
Everything comes from something.
Lara
It's also taught me to have grace for those people as well.
Sophia
Exactly.
Lara
It's like they are clearly looking and searching for a community or like, some sense of like, relief from their own pain.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Lara
So also I. I'm such an advocate of deleting Tick Tock if you can. I know that some people can.
Yoonjae
It's your job.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It's like my job.
Sophia
I know.
Lara
I. I understand. We're so privileged in the way that, like, for. For Tick Tock, comfy, but for Tick Tock, like, we have like a team that will run the cat's Eye Tick Tock. And then we don't really post on our individuals so we can delete it. Really.
Sophia
Bless.
Lara
Because, like, it's also made what I create so much better. Like, it's just like my original idea and thought and it's like, has zero influence from what I heard. And I'm like, oh, my God, my song has to sound like this new trending song. Like, you know what I mean?
Sophia
It's just.
Lara
I'm not being influenced. Everything's just coming from my brain.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I was gonna say, I think that's why, like, being numb to it or not even looking at it, it. You're. You guys didn't get to where you are based on curating who you are on comments.
Megan
Exactly.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
You know what I mean? You got to who you got to where you are. By being who you are, like, kind of without being perceived.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
So why change once you're being perceived? Because then you're. Then you're not who you are anymore.
Sophia
It's like when we release Gnarly, when we. We say this all the time, that when we first heard it, we were all so excited with what we could do with the song and just really, really show our. And how much we enjoy performing. And we just want to make these facials and we just want to show the power and all our. All the things we've been working towards. Like, that was like, what Gnarly was to us. Like, we could just be, like, doing something and people are gonna take it a weird. In a weird way. And we knew that. We knew that people were gonna take Gnarly in a certain way. But that's the thing about art. Like, you, it's yours and you feel a certain way about it, but then you give it to people and it's just like, whatever they do about it.
Yunche
Yeah.
Sophia
And when Gnarly came out that first few hours, like, they were like. Like, everyone was like, take it back, take it back.
Lara
Like,
Yoonjae
Summer, it's done.
Sophia
Clear. They're done. They've been like, you know what? We are done.
Megan
They hate it. Oh, my God.
Sophia
Like, we're not going to perform it, but we decided to perform it anyway. And they all switched up.
Yoonjae
They did
Lara
Grammy.
Sophia
Like, we. The 1 3AMA is like a VMA. Like, and watch. I just say that now and they're going to be mad at me again.
Yoonjae
Yeah, they are.
Yunche
They.
Lara
They are going to clip this.
Sophia
I. I can see.
Yoonjae
Going to do. See it.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Megan
Yeah, I'm not going to see it.
Yoonjae
It. Yeah, that's. I won't see it. I won't see it.
Sophia
If I do, then I'll just laugh with you. Like, yeah, it's okay.
Lara
Yeah. Truly.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Well, Yunche, what are you therapist about today?
Yoonjae
Oh,
Yunche
I'm not therapist about anything today.
Yoonjae
Oh, period. Okay.
Sophia
And that's a luxury.
Yoonjae
Luxury.
Yunche
Not yet.
Danny
The day just started.
Yunche
But. But last night.
Danny
Oh.
Yunche
I think I've been, like, having weird things about food every time I get food that I
Yoonjae
love.
Sophia
The group chat.
Yoonjae
Yes.
Yunche
Like, every time I crave something, I order food and it will be like something's missing. Like main food will. Will missing. Or. Or like food comes with very not tasteful.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Sophia
Like, so bad.
Yunche
And that's why I've been like, oh,
Sophia
like I've been satisfied.
Yunche
Yeah.
Megan
I'm like, not satisfied.
Yunche
And last night I was like, wait, I should get army stew. That's like, Korean food. And I was like, wait.
Lara
Like, ah.
Yunche
That's like, I can't. That's not gonna, like, fail.
Megan
Like, you can't go wrong.
Yoonjae
You can't go wrong about it.
Yunche
Yeah. So I was like, okay, okay. I'm gonna. I'm gonna be so satisfied. And I ordered it, and the restaurant called me and saying, oh, hi. I think you're gonna have to cancel the order because someone stole your food.
Yoonjae
And I was like, of course I was
Danny
happy. And I was like, it's just another one.
Sophia
Like, that's another thing.
Yoonjae
Yes. She can't catch a break. So sad. Was like, oh.
Yunche
And it was too late.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It's too late. This one. It's too late.
Yoonjae
Yeah. And it's too late. It was like, so did you eat?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Oh, then the restaurant closes, and then you're like, what do I do now?
Yunche
Yeah.
Danny
Did you eat something?
Yunche
I had.
Lara
I don't know what I had.
Yoonjae
You, like, had factor? Yeah, I have. Yeah. I order factor every week.
Lara
I always steal their factor.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Wait, so you guys were just all in Korea for a month?
Lara
Yeah.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Do you get to show them some of your favorite places that you, like, grew up going to?
Megan
Yeah, there was, like, this place that her parents took us to, and there was, like, literally five courses, like, and one of them. It was, like, a steak with bubbles on it. Yeah, it was crazy. It was, like, bubbles of soy sauce. So it was, like, bubbled up on steak, but then it would pop into soy sauce. It was so good.
Sophia
No, but she would also. Because you know how in Korea they have the ramen cups and then there's, like, cheese and sausage and all that. And then we would, like, make combinations and make it in our hotel room in a microwave wave. Like, we would take the bulldog ramens and just, like, add sausage.
Yoonjae
Cheese.
Sophia
Like. Oh, she's like, your stomach's probably going off, right?
Megan
Yeah, I can hear her stomach growling.
Yunche
Yeah.
Danny
Also, like, the shopping there.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Danny
Like, she introduced us to Hongdae. Like, I don't know what that was. It's just like the city where you just go shopping, right?
Yunche
Oh, yeah.
Danny
Yeah. There's a lot of cute stores.
Megan
What's up?
Danny
There's, like, a lot of, like, cute performances that people do, like, on the street as well. And it's a cute vibe, and it's, like, a very young vibe. There's a lot of.
Christy
It's very hilarious.
Danny
It's very hip and cool.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
What's your. What's your, like, favorite thing that you can't get in the states that you miss in Korea.
Yunche
Okay, first, I miss going to Han river and eat ramen and. And biking. That's what I really love to do in Korea. And also uk. What is it? Like, meat sashimi? It's like a. Yeah.
Sophia
Yes, yes, yes.
Yunche
Yeah, it's like that kind of. It's like, I. I've never seen that in states.
Sophia
So, like, it's like a meat tartare.
Yoonjae
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yunche
It's like. It's like different how you eat.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I know what you mean.
Danny
Yeah.
Sophia
So good. I had that in Korea.
Yunche
Yeah, I feel like a lot of Korean food, but there's a lot of Korean food here. Very good Korean.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Do you have a favorite spot you go to here? Yeah.
Megan
What about that place we went for your birthday?
Lara
Quarters.
Sophia
Quarters.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Quarters is fire.
Megan
Dude, so good.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Quarters is fire.
Yoonjae
Quarters. Quarters.
Lara
Be honest. Be honest.
Yoonjae
To be honest. Okay.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Speak your truth. Speak your truth.
Megan
Say it.
Yunche
No, I really liked it.
Sophia
No, there was a little.
Danny
That didn't sound authentic.
Sophia
Said. I also went to one with you and your mom. We went to.
Yunche
I. Sometimes I order it and I would eat.
Lara
Yeah, that place is really good.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Well, Sophia, what are you therapist about today?
Sophia
I feel like. I hate that I. I'm honestly having to talk about this so much recently, but I feel like it's like, almost becoming like, me making it a personality trait. But my ADHD has been so bad.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah, I get it.
Sophia
And I'm really pissed about it.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I completely.
Sophia
This morning I had therapy while I was getting ready, and I was just like, wow. It's like if I. If I could picture my ADHD in something physical, it would literally be like a roll of duct tape, like, firstly going over my mouth and then to the corners of my eyes and into my ears and just like, fogging up everything and, like, making it so difficult and into my hands and then duct taping me somewhere. But then also, like, out of nowhere, it just disappears and then duct tapes me again. And it's just like. It's so frustrating recently. I'm like, so pissed about it.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Do you have any, like, methods that you use to, like, calm it down when it flares up?
Sophia
I've been trying really hard, but I think at this moment, for the past couple months, for almost a year now actually, it's, like, spiked so much. Like, even when I was in training, it was a problem. And like, I think growing up to it was so. It was undiagnosed. And it's very different from when you. Like when you're an adult and when You're a kid. And especially for women and for men, it's very different. And a lot of it comes from, like, my upbringing or, like, depending on what your environment is. It's really like. Like, it's really like that when you have something as, like, adhd. But recently it's been so disruptive that I am, like, somebody who doesn't ask for help, but I'm literally, like, asking medical help for.
Danny
Yeah.
Yunche
Because it's so bad.
Sophia
It's so bad. I, like, can't sleep.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Sophia
Because I'm so internally.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
During the day.
Sophia
You're exhausted during the day I'm exhausted and like, I. I can't when I sleep too. It takes me so long to fall asleep because my brain never shuts off. And then I just end up, like, having, like, nightmares. And then I just wake up at night, and then it's so hard for me to fall back asleep. And then when I wake up, it's so hard for me to get up. And I also don't feel well. Rest. I've never. I haven't been well rested in months.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I completely relate.
Danny
That is. I was gonna say, like, for me, like, I. My ADHD spikes up when I'm tired. Like when I'm super exhausted. I wonder if that's what's. Why it's.
Sophia
I think that's a lot of it too.
Danny
Recently we've been, like, really working. We've been like, back to.
Megan
Back to back.
Lara
I definitely think I need to rest more. Like, I haven't quite been prioritizing my rest, but I. On my off days, like, I will do a session and, like, create something. Because sometimes I think, like, we. We perform so much and deliver so much, which is also, like, beautiful and it's so fun. But, like. Like, I have a need inside of me to, like, also just, like, express. And like, recently I used to only really love, like, production and making beats, but, like, recently I've really fell in love with writing. And, like, I've been writing poems and, like, journaling and I think I'm feeling really deeply recently. So it's so strange. Like, everything around me inspires me and speaks to me in a different way. Like.
Yoonjae
Like the trees.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
No, but. Yeah, but writing thoughts down. I've also been, like, kind of writing, like, in my journal more. Not songs, but just writing in my journal more. And I feel like when you put thought to paper, it kind of helps you figure out what you're feeling.
Lara
Yeah.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
More than just, like, saying it out loud.
Lara
Would.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I was writing down stuff the other day, and I was like, oh, that's why I feel that way.
Lara
It makes you like, it's kind of like, better than just for me, like, better than therapy because I'm like. Like I'm processing this in my own head and I'm like, having a conversation with myself, but through words on paper. And like, so much, like, beautiful art for me recently has come out of that. And like, on my off days, like, I'll just dedicate the entire day, anytime we have to doing that because it's like, it's like rest in a form for me. It's like, like. Does that make sense? Yeah, it's like, it's like a relief. Even though I'm like, working. It's like, not work. Like, that's like, creating is like, my favorite. Just, like, music. I care about it so much that it's like. It's this form of release. And it really rejuvenates me to be able to come in to work the next day and, like, do our job.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah, it's like. I mean, you could, like. It's like you're like, letting go of all that baggage you've carried throughout the week into.
Lara
Into, like, music or into. Yeah, into art or, like, into poems too.
Yoonjae
Like, it's just like, I used to
Lara
hate that so much. And I used to be like, I'm not a songwriter and I still, like. It's hard for me to see myself as a songwriter, but, like, I used to be like, I only care about how music sounds and, like, what it's like, what the production is and how. What the melody is. But now I'm like, no, lyrics are so important. Like, what you're saying is so important.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Lara
And like. And like, that's like, the beauty of music. It's like you're telling a story through sound. And like, now I've just fallen in love with, like, writing. And so it's beautiful.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Well, it's amazing. What are your guys's off days?
Danny
I'm a homebody. I just stay at home and sleep and just like, I just. My soul needs to be, like, rejuvenated, you know? So for that I just, like, stay at home also, like, I just moved, so my home is like my, like, safe space. And I just, like, decorated it and so it's really cute. And I just. I don't know, I like spending time, like, on my little couch or on my balcony. I watch tv. I just try to, like, just like, do nothing because we're always doing something right. And also, like, I'll call like, sorry, are you okay?
Yoonjae
Did you throw open your mouth a little bit? She, like, gurgled or something.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I do that all the time on this show, and I always get scared that someone hears.
Danny
Oh, we heard it.
Yoonjae
It was quiet. I thought nobody heard.
Danny
No, because it was so quiet.
Sophia
Holding a microphone, like, they're gonna hear that later.
Yoonjae
Yeah. Oh, my God. No. Cute. Okay.
Danny
Anyways, so I'm a homebody, but we were talking about this, like, the other day. It's hard to make friends in la. I want to make friends. Like, I want to go out and I want to just, like, hang out with people because I feel like that's good also for my soul. But I don't. I just. I don't have friends, and so it's tough. Literally, like, a couple days ago, I reached out to, like, a couple people because I need to do it for myself.
Yoonjae
But you did it.
Danny
I did it.
Yoonjae
I did do it.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Thank you, guys.
Danny
We encouraged her.
Yoonjae
We encouraged her because we were like.
Lara
Because you have to, like.
Danny
Yeah, you have to put yourself out there. You have to be the one to,
Yunche
like, I should do that.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It's hard, though, because you also, like,
Danny
expect, like, you're like. But I want them to reach out to me. Like, I want people to be able to, like, want to hang out with me. You know what I mean? So it's hard.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
You should also give yourself grace, though. Like, you guys didn't go have those college years where, like, you were, like, in college. Like, essentially actually trained me how to make friends. Like, I was like, okay, you're like, put in a dorm with all these people. You are not gonna get along with half of them, but you're gonna be friends with half of them. And it's like, a very confusing thing. So you have to give yourself grace in knowing that, like, you didn't have that. And so you're still figuring it out.
Danny
Well, I kind of did, sort of with them.
Megan
Our college was, like,
Danny
we lived with. With, like, 20 girls.
Megan
Yeah. Some of us went through high school during training, too.
Lara
Yes.
Megan
How, like, we would come in at, like, 8 in the morning and do,
Danny
like, three hours of school.
Yunche
Oh, my gosh.
Danny
That was crazy.
Sophia
With Colleen, I. I was in college, then I dropped out for this.
Danny
Yeah.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Oh, where were you in college?
Sophia
In the Philippines. It was online, though. It was, like, still pandemic, like. And I don't. I was just with my best friend.
Yoonjae
Yeah.
Sophia
I finished high school, though, so, like, I had that whole, like, social experience, and I had a lot of things also. Outside of school. School, like, I had a lot of, like, different communities. So, like, the social aspect of it, like, my friends now, I don't. I don't really have any, like, new friends here really, that are, like, core. I've always been very tight, so I've. My friends at home are like, still the people that I constantly talk to. And I'm. I'm like, okay with that. Like, I'm the type of person. Like, I'm not like, oh. Like, I don't have friends. Like, I need to, like, go. It's just like, the type of person I am because I'm super homebody, but also very extroverted. Yeah.
Danny
Like, I'm in between.
Sophia
Yeah, there's an in between.
Danny
Like, there's days where, like, I don't care. Like, I don't need friends. Like, I have my people and I have my people back at home, and that's all I need. But then there's some days where I'll, like, kind of get FOMO and I'll see, like, like the other girls go out or I'll just see people online go out and, like, they have, like, their group of friends and I'm like. I'm like, damn. Like, that kind of looks fun. And also, like, it's more fun to go with the group of people versus, like, just one or two. So I wish I had, like, a group of. Of friends that aren't in cat's eye.
Sophia
Love you guys to death.
Yoonjae
But it's important, no offense, because, like, we're literally sisters. Sisters.
Danny
Yeah.
Sophia
So, yeah, the rest is a part of our job. Like, we are not. We don't just sing on stage. Like, you see, what we do on stage and recovery and actual, like, sleep and rest is a part of our job.
Lara
We have to do physical therapy.
Megan
We need to sleep.
Sophia
Like, I have to go get my driver's license. I don't have time to get my driver driver's license. Like, I gotta go.
Danny
That was a big one. You don't drive.
Sophia
Me too.
Yoonjae
Are you doing it?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah, I can't drive. I grew up in New York, so I'm like. Then I got here, then all my friends started driving me.
Danny
And then I was like, oh, you're like, okay, okay.
Lara
Yeah, it's fine. Yeah, it's fine.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It's safer for the roads. Talk about. Talk about people that are bad at driving.
Danny
Let me just say, the only time I've been in an accident was in Uber. And I'm so. Me too.
Sophia
Really?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah, I got. I got T boned.
Yoonjae
No way.
Danny
Did you, like, spin?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
No, wait. It was just like. It happened, like, all of a sudden. It was like my body jolted and then it stopped for a second and then jolted harder.
Sophia
Wait, did you get anything? Like, are you, like.
Danny
Were you.
Megan
Are you okay?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
No, I was. I had whiplash on my.
Yoonjae
Oh, my God. I had whiplash for, like, half a year.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It was so bad.
Danny
Oh, my God.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
And we was.
Sophia
Maybe that's why you're, like, getting.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It was a scam because we were across the street from a hospital, and then right on the site, there was a creepy lawyer being like, were you just in an Uber accident? Let me talk to your dad. And my dad was like, I think it's a scam. Like, just go home. Is that crazy?
Sophia
They just risked your life?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yes.
Megan
That's actually insane.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Risk it all first.
Yoonjae
Yeah, yeah.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It was in LA. It was in LA in, like, 20.
Yoonjae
Wait, that's, like, diabolical.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah, it was crazy.
Yoonjae
That's crazy.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It was crazy. And now every time I drive and I see a car coming this way and I'm going doing this, why? I, like, I tense up.
Yoonjae
Oh, yeah.
Danny
Ptsd.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Yoonjae
Can you imagine your mom.
Megan
My mom would freak. My mom is in, like. Yeah, she would.
Sophia
Your mom would, like, would, like, flip the world.
Megan
Yeah, that's what I call her. But in a great way.
Lara
Oh, yes, In a good way.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Is she kind of like the group's mom? Like, who do? Or like.
Yunche
Yeah,
Megan
I think all of our moms are very, like, group mom.
Sophia
They have their own group chat. They're their own cat size, really. But they. It's a very. It's highly active.
Yoonjae
It is.
Megan
I think it's honestly more active than our group, too.
Lara
We always say that we think Auntie Sylvia, her mom, would be the leader. Like, like, if. If they had their own girl group, her mom would be the leader.
Sophia
Our moms would be troublemakers.
Lara
Our moms would be the troublemakers. Our moms are really good friends. What happened was same with Auntie Sylvia.
Sophia
We went to the Philippines. Okay. And that's where I'm from.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Huh.
Sophia
And my mom and her mom.
Yoonjae
Yeah, they get drunk.
Sophia
Get drunk. Her mom doesn't drink.
Megan
My mom doesn't drink.
Sophia
Get drunk.
Yoonjae
I can't believe it.
Megan
Told me.
Sophia
She, like, told me what they did. They were like, saying, like, her and Auntie Kavita were like, oh.
Yoonjae
Like, they were, like, drinking.
Sophia
And then they were like, no, no, no. You just have to hold it for the photo, Sylvia.
Christy
Just. Just.
Sophia
Just, like, hold it for the photo. And they're like, wait, now you're holding it. You got to take a sip.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
That's how it starts at our show.
Sophia
And there's, like, videos. They arrived at our show before we even came out.
Yoonjae
And then all the. And our moms were like, I've never
Megan
seen, like, that, like, the biggest smile on her face.
Sophia
She was like, they were gone.
Yoonjae
They were like, the icons were, like,
Lara
chanting their names, and they were, like, famous.
Yoonjae
They were, like, basking in them.
Megan
Also, my mom's the biggest BTS fan,
Danny
maybe more than us.
Megan
And I got a text from her
Yoonjae
last night being like, I got on the jumbotron.
Megan
She got on the Jumbotron with, like, she makes signs, like, for every show that she goes to, even including bts. And she got on the Jumbotron last night for bts and she got a
Host (Therapists Podcast)
video and she was like, oh, that's so cute.
Yoonjae
I was like, now we have to
Megan
put her on the Jumbotron.
Sophia
Your mom trying to, like, hold her up.
Yoonjae
Yeah.
Danny
Wait, what happens?
Yoonjae
Okay.
Lara
Because her parents came to the AMAs and BTs was there, and Auntie Sylvia was, like, so, like, weak in the knees.
Yoonjae
She was crying. She had to take off her heels. My mom said she had to take off her heels, and she became weak in the knees by seeing those men. And so, like, my mom and her friend had to, like, hold her away. No, Cuz my friend came and he
Sophia
was like, we had to hold her. Your mom was crying on him.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Oh, so your mom is like, the biggest BTS fan?
Yoonjae
I'll find out.
Danny
She is.
Sophia
She was in Vegas for BTS and Cats. I just had happened to be there.
Megan
Yeah, all three of the Vegas shows for bts.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Who's her bias?
Megan
Suga.
Yoonjae
Oh, really?
Sophia
But we just happened. She was like, oh, wait, Megan's gonna be there too.
Megan
Like.
Yoonjae
Like, she didn't care about the acceptance speech or anything.
Megan
She was just happy to see bts. And then we went backstage for the BTS show to meet them, and she was like, can I come?
Yoonjae
She's like, you finally made me proud.
Megan
She's like, finally you met bts.
Sophia
This was it.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
You guys are about to release a new EP called Wild, and then you're gonna go on a global arena tour.
Yoonjae
Yes.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Tell me about all of it.
Danny
It's our first ever arena tour ever.
Megan
Actually sold out.
Danny
It's our second tour. It's sold out today. They added, I think, new dates, right? And then it's sold out. Like, everything is sold out. We're going to Europe. We're doing North America. And we're going to new places that we've never, ever gone to before, and it's really, really exciting. I love going on tour. And we're gone for a while.
Lara
We're going on a bus.
Sophia
We're going on a tour.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Oh, you guys are gonna have the best time.
Lara
We're being split into two buses.
Megan
Yeah.
Danny
Yes.
Sophia
Yes.
Christy
We.
Danny
Okay. We experienced the tour bus a little bit, actually. It was Coachella day, and we were in Palm Springs, so we took, like, a tour bus to go to Coachella. It was, like, 45 minutes, but so cute because, like, we got to, like, sleep in the little, like, bed,
Yoonjae
and we kept kikiing.
Lara
Like, we would, like, open the curtain and, like, laugh and.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Danny
And we're, like, climbing. Like, it was crazy.
Megan
We were climbing. And, like, we would be upside down.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Danny
Somersaults.
Megan
Like, monkey bars.
Lara
I can't wait to, like, decorate the bus.
Yoonjae
I know.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
And, like, you'll get close with the driver and, like, it'll be so awesome, you guys.
Megan
Me and Lara were thinking, like, we're gonna make, like, a little studio in the back.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Oh, how awesome would that be?
Megan
And, like, our little off time, we would, like, make music.
Lara
So me, Megan, we. We do our sessions. We've had some hits and some.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Wait, you know. You know. You know my favorite.
Yunche
Oh, yeah.
Lara
Sing it. Cat's eye. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Danny
That one's good.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
What is exciting to you guys most about this new era?
Danny
Oh, okay.
Yoonjae
I.
Sophia
There.
Lara
There's many things. There's, like. There's this one song that I like. Me and Sophia specifically, really like the song. It's really catchy.
Sophia
It's like, I love it so much.
Lara
I love it, like, also, also, I finally listened to the version with our voices yesterday, and it's, like, sounds so good. Like, honestly, I think it's one of the first times, like, you can really, really hear each of our tones, like, natural colors of our voice. And, like, it was nice because I have, like, a cat's eye voice that I. I'll put on, like, for, like, the pop vibe. But I think in this song, it wasn't really that, like, you could hear my natural color. And I feel the same way with
Danny
all the girls, for sure.
Lara
So I'm really excited about that one. I know the icons are gonna love that one.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
When this comes out, will the track list be out?
Sophia
So we can't. We can't say, like, what. How many. What the names are. But we did very recently finally get, like, the masters of the songs on this ep. And it's all I've been listening to. To same. And the thing is, I know that it eats when I'm listening to, like, like, constantly wanting to listen to it as if it's not even our song.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Right. Yeah.
Sophia
I feel like a lot of artists sometimes don't really listen to their own music. Especially. I feel like for us, a lot of our songs, we have to rehearse them for hours and hours because of the choreography that comes with it. And so, like, you kind of just get sick of it a little bit. But then, like, some songs, we don't perform as often, so we want to listen to it. But the thing is, all the songs, like, I'm wanting to listen to it. Just like, I was in the shower listening to our own music, like, so excited for it to come out.
Lara
Especially that.
Sophia
Especially that one song I had on loop.
Yoonjae
I was, like, going to like that. To perform that song.
Lara
Like, that song, you know that.
Megan
I know.
Yoonjae
Yeah, I am.
Lara
It's that one song. It is. So I just.
Sophia
I just, like, love it.
Lara
I think it's, like, the best T song.
Megan
Same.
Danny
What?
Lara
What are you talking about?
Sophia
It's so good, that song.
Lara
So good.
Sophia
I literally texted. I was like, you guys, like, I love this song. Like, it's so, like, I really like it.
Lara
It's like, it feels like pop girl realness.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Oh, I'm ready.
Lara
Like, it feels like girl group. Like, what you want to hear from cats?
Sophia
I was in the shower, like, pretending I was actually already performing, and I was thinking of, like, okay, which dancer is going to come to me and, like, do this part with me?
Megan
I was like, I know.
Lara
It's like, it's sexy.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
How do you guys, like, formulate your chemistry as, like, when you're performing?
Sophia
Oh, so, hey, and gr.
Lara
I also like the label and in general.
Danny
Yeah.
Lara
What I learned is that also a lot of it, I. I don't think I realized it, but a lot of it is, like, strategic, I think, as well for them. Like, like, they were explaining to us, like, who starts the song, who finishes that, who does the pre chorus. Like, it's all very, like, strategically distributed between us.
Danny
Yeah. It's not, like, random.
Lara
Yeah, it's not random, but. But I do think, like, say they're like, okay, Laura, you're going to sing the brie chorus. But then I try it, and it's like, sophia sounds better, and I sound better somewhere else. Like, they will switch it, have flexibility with that.
Megan
But I think for, like, performances, like, it really depends if it's like, A dance. If, like, we're dancing or if we're not. Like, if we're dancing, they usually come up with the choreo beforehand, and then we, like, learn it and then. But if it's not like mia, we incorporate a lot of our own ideas. Like, especially, like, for Coachella, we were really, really a part of that process, being, like, I want to do this. This, like. Or, like, when we started on the buildings, like, Danny, me, like, Lara, like, we were, like, all coming up with those ideas. Like, Lara's idea was to come out of the window.
Lara
Yeah.
Megan
So, yeah, I think we get, like, a lot of. A lot more freedom with our songs that we don't really have to do choreo with.
Danny
And it switches up, too. It switches?
Megan
Yeah, yeah.
Danny
Like, for mi Especially, like, since it's so free. Like, for Coachella, like, I did that part on top of the building. But for gov ball, like, it's gonna be a little bit different.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Are you guys excited for gov ball?
Megan
Yeah, I'm so excited.
Danny
New York?
Yoonjae
Yeah, New York. New York.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I used to go to gov fall in high school all the time. Yes, I used to go all the time. It's so fun. Wait, is it next weekend?
Lara
Yeah, it's next weekend.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I'm gone.
Danny
Where are you.
Yoonjae
Where are you going?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
France.
Lara
To France?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
The Grand Prix.
Megan
For what?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
The Grand Prix? Like, the Grand Prix, like the race car?
Yoonjae
Oh, yeah.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It's like, the F1 stuff. Yeah.
Danny
That's so fun, right?
Lara
Sports cars.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Well, I'm just going because I want to go to France.
Lara
Yeah, I would love to go to the grand Prix.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Right?
Sophia
That's, like.
Yoonjae
That sounds.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
But I'm. I'm very jealous of the performance. Promise it up. I'll be messing.
Lara
Wait, are you gonna serve, like, looks like. Are you getting styled and stuff?
Yoonjae
I'm not gonna get styled.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Lately, I've been, like, trying to, like. Actually, I was gonna ask you guys about your own styles as well, because you guys. Do you guys have colors?
Yoonjae
Oh, my God.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
So I want to hear about the colors
Sophia
outside.
Danny
Like, this was during SIS era.
Sophia
This was, like, when we debuted. Yeah. But we also had, like, a personal color color, and it was all pastel. And so they announced they, like, they assigned it on their own, the company to us.
Lara
And they also.
Yoonjae
And they were like, this is your favorite color.
Danny
Right.
Yoonjae
Like, we know
Sophia
in our album cover for the sis, like, we're all standing in. Our personal color is like, I'm in purple. Like, she's in pink, and, like, she's in, like, orange.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Loves the pink.
Sophia
I like the pink colors. Yeah, I do too.
Danny
I love.
Sophia
Blue is gorgeous.
Lara
It's just that coral and I hate my color.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah, you two hate your colors.
Yoonjae
I hate it.
Megan
And it's also like, I. I hate the color orange. Like, I really try to fight to have it right.
Lara
I actually love orange.
Megan
No, I don't like orange.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I said orange was the color of the summer a while ago, and it did not come to fruition because of now, because I tried to. I wore an all orange outfit one day and everyone was like, oh, I
Lara
used to hate orange. And then I figured out, like, no,
Danny
I'm actually like, it also depends what tone of orange.
Megan
Like, peach, cream orange. And it was just not giving it,
Sophia
washed it, like, mashed your skin color.
Megan
And at the time, I had orange hair. So it's just like, orange, orange, orange, orange, orange.
Lara
It's so annoying because now when you look up on Google, like, what is Lara from Kat's favorite color? It's like green.
Yoonjae
And I'm like, no, it's not green.
Lara
It's not. We have this strange lore about this place called Nowhere Land, which we don't.
Yoonjae
Yeah, we should talk about it because.
Lara
Because we.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Tell me about. Tell me about it.
Yunche
Okay.
Megan
I have to tell you because you are here.
Yoonjae
Tell us.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Tell us.
Sophia
I'm in New Orleand.
Yunche
I. I actually saw one fan posted Tik Tok video, and that's how I know.
Sophia
Oh, wow.
Megan
They deciphered it for us.
Yoonjae
Well, that's not true.
Danny
That's less true than you.
Megan
You have to explain Touch. Like, what happened.
Sophia
That's where it started. Touch is where started.
Yunche
Yeah, Touch was when we started it. I'm the missing person.
Danny
And that's that.
Sophia
That's that.
Yoonjae
That's it.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
What do you mean? You're the missing person?
Lara
She's like a missing person, and she's gone to Nowhere Land.
Megan
Literally the whole.
Lara
We're, like, in the real world, but then there's a new development.
Megan
Yeah, there's a new development.
Lara
Do you want to take.
Yunche
There's.
Sophia
We're.
Yunche
That's.
Megan
We're doppelganger.
Sophia
It kind of feels like the real.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Like, you guys.
Lara
So the real Cat's eye is like, not us. Like. Like the real ca has been like the other mother.
Megan
Yeah.
Yoonjae
And they've been banished and stuck in nowhere.
Sophia
See, me, if you watch the Touch music video back in the beginning, I'm crawling through this AC unit and I fall out and I end up in Nowhere Land. And it's just this whole world that we're in. But then you see there's this paper. It's like on the news that Yooncha's missing. So it's kind of like the real world is like, wait, Yooncha's gone? But they don't realize yet that we're all also gone.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
So you're missing in Nowhere Land.
Yunche
Yes.
Sophia
Because I jump out of this painting. Okay. And it's like it slashes. But then Yunsha is like isn't.
Yunche
Oh yeah.
Megan
Wait, I thought it was the opposite. I thought no, everything wasn't slashed except Yunche because she already fell through into the Nowhereland.
Sophia
No, no, no. I think it was. Whatever it is, it's one of two. There's a difference. You'll see it. And then in gnarly music video to be kind of continue the story where we were all based in nowherland. Cuz instead of the Hollywood sign, it says Nowhere Land.
Yoonjae
Oh yeah.
Sophia
So we have this like lore going on that like if you are so deeply into our content, like you would notice it's like for the icons that are really icon. It's.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I love this.
Yoonjae
How fun.
Sophia
A fun additional thing for our fans to like dive into, you know?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Okay, should we do the tell me what's wrongs?
Sophia
Yes.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
This is where people write in yes. And we give them advice.
Danny
Yes.
Yoonjae
I love.
Lara
I love advice.
Danny
I'm not going to lie. I literally watched one of your episodes last night before I went to bed.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Which one?
Danny
I watched the one with Maddie Ziegler.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Oh, she's the best.
Sophia
She's the best.
Danny
She's one of the people that I just texted by the way.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Really?
Danny
Yeah, to hang.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
She by the way, is the best hang. I was in New York, I got dinner with her meet just me and her and it was like literally could have sat there for hours.
Sophia
Oh my God.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
She's you under her wing and like really like good person. Yes. Kenzie.
Danny
The best. Kenzie. Yeah. So so cute.
Yoonjae
Thank you.
Danny
Last time I saw her, I was like 12 last time I saw her. So I don't know what it's gonna
Host (Therapists Podcast)
be like, but it'll be great. She's the best.
Yoonjae
Yeah. They both.
Lara
They both seem so genuine.
Megan
Yeah.
Danny
Oh yes.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Lara. This one might be. Oh, get that for you. I'm so scared to run into my ex out and about in la. Did you write this?
Yoonjae
You sent this? Wait, what?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Okay.
Sophia
Okay.
Yoonjae
That's crazy. Help. Help.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I'm so scared to run into my ex out and about in la. That's like kept me from going out on so many Nights. I don't like that she has the power over me, but I'm hurting and if I saw her, it'd be life rights. Out. My friends are always inviting me out, but it's to all the places she might be going. Help.
Lara
Okay, okay. Unfortunately, I see one of my exes almost every time I go out. Like, it just happens. It just happens. I think I saw my ex girlfriend, like, from high school, like, last week. Like, it's just like, if I'm like, getting coffee, your ex is there. It's gonna feel like you're being haunted.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Lara
But I think you just gotta get through it. It, like you just have to accept that you will. And like, it can always just be like a, hey, like, how you doing?
Megan
You can't live your life in fear.
Lara
You can't live your life in fear. Like, they exist too. And honestly, something that helped me is like, they probably feel the exact same way. Like, they're probably also scared and like, they're feeling the same awkwardness. So it's like at the end of the day, it's like, whatever, we're both humans. We're existing. We can coexist.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Ripping off a band aid, it's just
Lara
ripping off a band. And I think, yeah, after the first couple times you see them, you realize it's really not as like. Like the feelings don't really all come rushing back to you as much as you think they would.
Yoonjae
But it's.
Christy
Sorry, it.
Lara
It's tough though, because if you don't have enough time to heal before you see that person. I feel like I'm giving such bad advice because I think this is great advice. But it's like when you don't have enough time to heal and then you see the person, like, while you're still healing. That's really hard.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Lara
I think, like, during my period especially. Oh, my God, my first heartbreak and like with my first love, my ex moved to New York. And it's actually crazy because, like, I moved from New York and went to school and we met there and then he went. Moved to New York. After we broke up and went to the school, I went to York, New York.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Right.
Lara
So he, like, became friends with all my friends.
Yoonjae
That's.
Lara
So I was like. Like grew up with, like before I moved to la, you know what I mean? And so it was. That was really difficult. But he, like, moved away. So after we broke up and I was dealing with my heartbreak, like, we didn't see each other. And like, that was really helpful. Do you know what I Mean like if we were like still going to school and seeing each other, it would have been off. So I think like that space is really nice, but once you actually see them, it's like it's not really that deep.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah, it's not that deep.
Lara
It's not that deep. Like it's fine. You'll. You'll get through it.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
My boyfriend got a haircut without telling me and it's a buzz cut.
Yoonjae
Oh my God. It's a lot. It's a lot.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Buzz cut.
Danny
Okay. That's the worst.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It definitely doesn't look good on him. And I loved his hair. It was, was, it was his punishment for his fantasy league. Whatever.
Yoonjae
Oh, I hate that.
Danny
It's like they bet they will.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
They bet on like sports. They're like, they pretend to be that. I think they like that's. I'm like very. Yes, very boy. So I'm like gonna do a job at explaining this. But like boys have like fantasy leagues. So like they'll like, what is it?
Christy
I don't know.
Lara
It's like when people talk about fantasy football.
Sophia
Yeah.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
He lost in fantas messy football, so he had to shave his head.
Danny
Yeah, like, okay, but like you do
Sophia
crazy things also if they don't let you know that they're gonna change their hair. Like it's like because your hair, hair on guys is like makeup. And it's just like the. You say like an external factor to have you change your hair when like you like it anyway. And then like they like, like it's like she'd probably be like, I'm the one who has a look at you, you know what I mean? I like your hair. Why would you like change it like that? Like you know how much it means to me or something like that.
Megan
The real question is, do you love him unconditionally?
Sophia
Yes, that too.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
She says I'm on the edge of break. She says I'm on the edge of breaking up with him because not only do I dislike how it looks, but he made a decision without my permission.
Yoonjae
No. Okay.
Sophia
Together you gotta get it together. Cuz like that's his. He can do. He doesn't need your permission to cut his hair. But I understand. Like he didn't tell you.
Danny
I don't think you need to break up with him.
Sophia
Like I know people cry when they're like their significant other like shaves their beard or something cuz they look. Just because it's different, it doesn't mean like you hate it. It's just different.
Danny
But different.
Sophia
Breaking up with somebody doesn't.
Lara
Like, imagine you wanted to dye your hair blue and your boyfriend is like, no, that's ugly. You can't do that.
Yoonjae
Just ask, why you. I mean, dyeing hair.
Megan
Like, babe, maybe you guys should break up and you should work on yourself.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Maybe that's the advice.
Sophia
Let's, like, let's.
Lara
I actually think that you'd look really hot with the buzz cut.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Okay, you know what?
Yoonjae
And bleach it.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Thank you so much. Because I've wanted to buzz my hair
Yoonjae
for the longest time.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
And I've wanted to get an earring.
Yoonjae
I wanted to, but Louise told me
Host (Therapists Podcast)
was bad for the brand.
Yoonjae
What? No. What do you mean?
Megan
Is it like midlife crisis?
Sophia
Just take it out when you really
Host (Therapists Podcast)
think I'd look good with a buzz?
Lara
I really mean that. I would not randomly say, would you bleach it?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah, bleach your hair.
Yoonjae
It would get.
Megan
Buzz it and get a piercing.
Danny
Like, just go crazy.
Yoonjae
Just do it like, it's summer. If you hate it.
Lara
If you hate it, you can take
Danny
the piercing out and you can dye your hair back.
Lara
You can dye that stuff.
Sophia
Like, you can revert.
Danny
It's not the end of the world.
Yoonjae
I'm gonna buzz my hair. Yeah, I'm gonna buzz my hair. I want to do it for you.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Wait, you can?
Yoonjae
Can I?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Yoonjae
Wait, wait. Can I bleach it for you?
Megan
Yes. Okay.
Yoonjae
Wait period. I don't know if I trust us
Lara
with that group project.
Yoonjae
You're like, a big group project.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It'll be a big group project.
Danny
Yes.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Oh. Huh. I'm buzzing my hair.
Yoonjae
Wait, can I get a bow? Bow. Bow. Bow. Bow. Bow.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
My partner won't dance with me when we go out ever.
Sophia
Okay, fuck it. Fuck it.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It.
Danny
No, actually continue, because.
Lara
Yeah, no.
Danny
Okay, just continue.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Like, I really want. Like, I really want them to, but they just say, I don't dance. I don't dance. I'm a very free spirit, so this sucks. But we match in every other way. I want them to share the experience with me and get out of the comfort zone. Do I just need to let it lie or keep trying?
Danny
No. Okay. I think that, first of all, it depends how long they've been together, because maybe it's still new and maybe it's not. They're not as comfortable with each other yet.
Yoonjae
Yet.
Danny
But, I mean, I think just give it time and eventually, like, they'll open up and, like, if they really love you, they'll do something for you no matter what. Like, just give it time. But I don't Think I would. I wouldn't give up. I would just. Just wait and get.
Lara
Like, you have to express. Like, this is something that I really need.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Like, why don't you dance?
Christy
Okay.
Yoonjae
Actually, it's a cute one.
Danny
Maybe they are insecure for doing that,
Lara
you know?
Sophia
But don't force. I just, like, don't feel. I don't like forcing.
Yoonjae
There's always a reason.
Megan
There's always a reason to do something
Danny
and maybe ask, like, hey, like, why won't you dance with me?
Lara
Just dance.
Yoonjae
Just dance. Just dance.
Sophia
Oh, is there a bug?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
The bug telling me, do not buzz your head. That's what the bugs is telling me.
Yoonjae
That's. No, don't listen.
Megan
Something very similar happened to me. I was watching this, like, set with, like, some guy that I was seeing, and then I was, like, trying to, like,
Lara
oh, okay.
Yoonjae
I was like, he wouldn't dance.
Megan
And he was just kind of standing there and I was, like, bouncing on it. And I was like. I was like, do you want to dance? Like, do you want to dance? And he was like, I don't dance.
Yoonjae
I was like, what's your favorite dance move? Maybe like this?
Megan
And he was like, no.
Danny
Maybe they're, like, trying to, like, Aura Farm or something.
Sophia
No, see, don't want to, like.
Danny
Like, just be comfortable and, like, let loose. Like, they just want to mew and
Megan
just be like, I have a crazy story.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Tell me.
Danny
Oh.
Sophia
Oh, well, okay.
Danny
Just say it. Just say it. Really?
Lara
One of my exes, Basically, I went to Benny Blanco's party with Adela. This is our first time, like, going to, like, a big, like, we were
Yunche
like, oh, my God.
Lara
This is like a famous people party. Like, we're like, really on our best behavior. We're like, oh, my God. Like, we have to, like, be so cool and, like, impress all these people. And I bring my ex, and she's, like, meeting this new guy who is now her boyfriend.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Shut up.
Lara
And, yeah, who is now her boyfriend. But I bring my ex, and we're just, like, partying, whatever. He's, like, not really, like, talking to anyone.
Yoonjae
I'm just, like, trying to kiki.
Lara
And he's like, kind of just. But, like, for his own reasons, like, honestly still, like, love him. Like, he's fine. Yeah, yeah, no, she's shade. But then we go outside and I think, just, like, out of insecurity, like, I don't know what this was, but I like, me and Omar Apollo started, like, talking, and I love Omar. Like, I had never met him. Like, I love him. And I was like, oh, my God. Like, I'm such a fan. Like, I love you. You're so sexy. Like, you're the hottest man alive. But he's gay.
Yoonjae
You know what I mean?
Lara
Like, I say in front of my ex, and, like, I'm like, obviously. Like, why would I tell a man like, you're the hottest man alive when you're there unless he's gay. Like, do you know what I mean? And so then my boyfriend hears that, and he's, like, fuming.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Lara
He's like. Like, don't do that. And then we start talking. My ex is saying nothing. And then Omar Apollo, like, starts dancing. Like, he's, like, popping and locking.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
He's a good dancer, too.
Lara
Yeah, he's a good dancer, but he was being funny. He was, like, doing the wave, and he was like, lara, I'm gonna pass it to you. I'm gonna pass it to you. And then I start waving, and then it gets to my ex boy, and
Yoonjae
he practically, like, he starts taking a
Lara
little bit too seriously, and he, like, challenges Omar Apollo to a dance battle,
Yoonjae
basically, like, at Benny Blanco's birthday party. And I'm, like, mortified.
Lara
I remember Adela and her boyfriend were, like, looking over,
Yoonjae
and I see Phineas in the corner, like, eating a taco.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
And I'm like.
Yoonjae
I'm like, oh, my God. Like, I'm like, like, baby, like, get up. Like, what are you doing? And he's like. He, like, gets on the floor and
Yunche
he's, like, fully, like.
Yoonjae
He's like. He's like, step upping Omar Apollo.
Lara
And I wanted to kill myself.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Tall man.
Yoonjae
Yeah, he is a tall man. And me and you got down on the ground. I remember, like, me and Omar Apollo stood there. We were like, yes. Like, get it? Like, okay.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
And how soon after did you break up?
Lara
The next day. Yeah, I actually. I genuinely. Like, the day after I went. Me and Adela went to Chateau Marmont and got lunch. And I was like, sis. Like, this happened. And she was like. I saw.
Yoonjae
Like, she was like, yeah. Like, I think everybody saw that happen.
Lara
And I was like, yeah. And she was like, you must break up with him.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Lara
Like, this is. This is just not someone that aligns with you.
Yoonjae
With you for many reasons.
Lara
And then I was like, all right, it's done. We broke up that day.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Apollo break dance gate.
Lara
Yeah.
Megan
Break dance is actually, like, the most craziest story I've ever heard.
Lara
It's like, genuinely.
Sophia
Rehearsal the next day told us about it, and I was like, nothing happened. There's no way that happened.
Yoonjae
It happened.
Megan
And she was like, sophia, I swear, it happened.
Sophia
I was like, that's a dream.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I feel like I called you my worst nightmare.
Yoonjae
Yeah. It was my.
Lara
I was mortified and I was like, baby, like, stand.
Danny
So, like, secondhand embarrassment.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
So maybe better if your partner doesn't dance.
Yoonjae
Yeah.
Megan
You just let them know.
Yunche
But at the end of the day.
Lara
The day, no shade.
Sophia
We love you.
Lara
Love all love and true blessings.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
It makes for a funny story.
Yoonjae
Yeah.
Lara
Thank you for a wonderful story. This is my favorite story to tell. Yeah. So thanks.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I get so much anxiety before I post anything on Instagram.
Danny
Me too.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Really?
Danny
Well, not so much anxiety, but.
Yoonjae
But, like, I get it.
Danny
Like, I understand why. I do understand why.
Megan
Just wanted to relate.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Dumps stories, anything, literally. Do you get anxiety as well, actually?
Danny
Like. Like posting on social media. Like, it's a lot. It's a lot like anything. It's like, okay, like, are people going to like this? Like, do I look good? Like, like, you know, there's a lot of.
Megan
There's something like a cancel.
Danny
Like, there's like, am I going to get expectations? There's like, expectations. I'm like, I'm going to get to this many likes.
Lara
And it's just a gag enough. Or is it just like a scroll?
Danny
Like, is this gonna do good? Is this gonna do bad? So anyways, keep going.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Anything literally sends me into a spiral.
Danny
Yeah.
Yunche
Yeah.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I'm so in my head about what other people are gonna think because text doesn't carry the same inflection. And I really want. Who wrote this inflection? And I really want to get over this help. Is it really that serious?
Danny
It's not that serious, but to you it is and why you're anxious about it.
Megan
Okay. You know what I actually been doing recently? I've been taking Instagram so casually.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
That's my motto.
Megan
I love just posting whatever the I want. Whether it's like, I would literally post about, like, the sky. Like, I have been posting, like, just random and not thinking about anything. And then I just don't check my comments. I, like, literally post it and then I get off the app and I'm like, okay, I'm done. Because I like, I like posting. I love posting.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Me too. It's my favorite thing. Well, it's that instant serotonin.
Sophia
Yeah.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
That you get, like, it's like that instant gratification of like.
Yoonjae
Sure.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Like, like, like, like, you know what?
Megan
Like, I think I have so many thoughts in my mind that I just need an outlet and I put them On, I just do it, like, either on my private account or, like, on, like, my main. But, like, I just don't think anything's that fudgeing deep or anything that's serious. Like, I just posted because I think I like it and I want to be funny, so I post it. I don't think anything's that deep. Especially, like, when it's on your page. Like, I'm not going to let you guys fudge ruin something on my phone.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Well, the basis of, like, social media back in its, like, early, early 2010s, like, was the fact that it was, like, this unfilter.
Yoonjae
Exactly.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Stream of, like, this, like, virtual world. So once it becomes curated, then it's not what social media's initial intent was.
Megan
Exactly.
Sophia
We're already so curated.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah. Everything's so curated.
Lara
So it's cool to just be you.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Exactly. Be you.
Lara
Yeah.
Yoonjae
You don't need to look.
Danny
Yeah, don't look. Just post it and get off. And also, if it makes you feel better, like, other people feel the same exact way. Including me, so.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Including me.
Lara
Yeah, including me.
Danny
Including Cat's eye.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah. I've been really annoyed lately when people tell me I'm really nice. Growing up, I always thought it was a compliment and I wanted to be known that way. But recently, as I navigate the back half of my 20s, I'm realizing I just might be coming across as a pushover and I have no backbone.
Megan
I understand.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I will always be a good friend and person to the people I love, but I don't want to be a doormat. What's your advice? To change my narrative.
Christy
Oh, my God.
Lara
I understand. Because I used to be.
Sophia
Be.
Lara
Yeah, I used to really hate that. And I think that I was a little bit too nice. Isn't that true? Like, I was a little bit too nice. And, like, it's not. That's not really quite in my nature. Like, I'm very much like, this is what it is. And, like, I'm gonna tell you how it is. But then I think post Cat's eye and post, like, people having opinions on us. I feel like I was like, okay, I have to be, like, really extra nice. And, like, I can't say what I think anymore because it will get taken the wrong way, and I don't want that. And, like, I hated being seen as, like, too nice because I was like, are people seeing this as my weakness? Like, people are gonna see this, like, and take advantage of that, but that is honestly not. It's just not true. Like, kindness and being nice to people Is like. It's a superpower. It's like the most beautiful, beautiful thing, I think as long as you. You're, like, aware and, like, as long as you, like, just don't be a pushover.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Right. It's like kindness with boundaries.
Lara
Yeah, kindness with boundaries. Like, that's also part of being kind. It's like you have to also be kind to yourself.
Megan
Exactly.
Lara
Like, being really nice is like, also taking care and being nice to yourself and knowing, like, when something is going too far. So I actually think it's, like, one of the most, or if not the most beautiful compliment, because it's like, being nice. It's like you make people feel. Feel welcomed. You're approachable. Like, you have a nice aura. That means that you love yourself and, like, you respect yourself. Like, there is nothing more beautiful than, like, being.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Megan
Being nice and being a pushover is two different things.
Lara
Yeah, they're completely different.
Sophia
They're very different. And that's.
Lara
Kindness is everything when you.
Sophia
You have to be able to kind of have that selflessness and that boundary and that. And that respect for yourself, yourself so that you can continue to be kind. And you don't need to stop being kind because that's just what you need to. You can just be. But because people will recognize that respect you have for yourself, the boundaries can come naturally. Like, people be like, okay, I'm not gonna mess with them. They're not gonna with you. And that's just something you have to work on, like, how you see yourself. Because it's like, when you have confidence in yourself and you respect yourself, like, that rubs off on people. Like, people recognize that right away.
Christy
Yeah.
Yunche
And it just.
Sophia
Then people will automatically kind of know how to approach you. And so it's more of, like, an internal thing you have to work on. But don't ever stop being kind. Don't ever stop being nice.
Lara
Now I. I don't really feel like I come across. I mean, some people are crazy, but, like, I don't really come across situations where I feel like people are, like, taking advantage of my kindness.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Lara
Because I feel like I. Like there. Like, there will always be, like, a thing of, like. Like, okay, like, not too much right now, but, like, I'll always be really kind and, like, spread love because it's just, like, take so much energy to. To hold that back and to, like, stop being nice so that people, like, fear you. And, like, like, that's just be nice.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
How do you guys, like, lift each other up when somebody isn't feeling, like, confident in the group or somebody isn't feeling, like, great that day. Like, what do you. How do you guys all lift up each other up?
Lara
Well, we begin with the hug.
Sophia
Yeah, the hug.
Lara
And we have a lot of physical.
Sophia
We know each other so well.
Lara
That. And we.
Sophia
We know each other so well, and we know that we know each other. So we feel. We naturally feel like what we say matters to one another. Because it's like, it's really only the people that truly know you, what they can say about your situation or what they can say to comfort you. Like, they just. You can trust it because they recognize your situation and all that. And so we're very big on just reminding each other because that's. I think that's the root of a lot of it. It's when we don't feel confident, when we're feeling down in general, it's because we're forgetting certain things. And our role is to constantly remind this person. And the switch of perspective, like, that's the first thing we do. Because that's the key to, like, everything. It's. It really is perspective. That's what changes the game for everybody and how they live life. It's just perfect perspective. Life is perspective. And we're always. If we're in situation, for example, suddenly I'm not confident about my outfit and I feel like it's not me. But then I remember, like, we're always in these situations. And I was like, yeah, recently, like, Lara was like, if you don't mind me saying, I just felt that way. She felt that way recently in a situation where she felt like her outfit just wasn't her, but she looked beautiful. She was like, I know I look beautiful, but it's just not me. And I was like, lara, you yourself are already so much of you. Like, you care. You're one of the people that, like, give yourself so much. And no matter what is put on you, you do you. It's not ugly. It's just. It doesn't feel like you. But then you. Everybody is saying you look amazing. Like, you're the type of person. You're such a beautiful artist that is so firmly themselves. Like, things like that. Like, that's how we talk to each other. We're constantly, like, teaching.
Lara
It really made me feel better. Like. Like, we also. I think that's the beauty of being in a group as young girls going through this and, like, navigating attention and fame and like, this industry in general. Like, I always have so much respect for the solo pop girls and just the Solo artists in general. Because I'm like, especially when you're new and figuring this out, it can really fudge with your head and like, it can really, really make you, like, your whole perspective on who you are on life. Like, you can so easily fall into a place of, like, losing reality and losing yourself.
Yunche
Yeah.
Lara
And we just had a dinner. May I talk about our dinner?
Danny
Our dinner?
Yoonjae
No.
Lara
Well, let's get into the dinner because.
Yoonjae
Because we had.
Lara
We had our first, like, hang out or dinner together that we've had in a really long time. It was like the first time that we were like, okay, like, outside of work, let's just go and like, sit and speak. And it just ended up with all of us, like, sobbing at the nice guy.
Yoonjae
Yeah, the nice guy. Like, crying at the nice guy.
Sophia
There was like, frank Ocean too.
Megan
And it just made me cry even more.
Lara
But. But I think it was so beautiful because, like, just speaking for myself, I like, take your guys's advice and like, every perspective you share about, share to me, like, about my feelings and my situation. Like, I take it so seriously.
Danny
Yeah.
Lara
And I like, really take it to heart because, like, I trust you guys and I, like, trust that you're not just gonna, like, say something to say it.
Sophia
Like, that's how we are with.
Yoonjae
And there's.
Lara
There' so, like, this beautiful sense of, like, true support. Like, I think we really. I really believe and know that, like, we want each other to win. And so it's just like a really safe space and it could easily not be.
Megan
Yeah.
Lara
Do you know what I mean? Like, I've heard about so many groups and, like, situations where they didn't feel that way. And it's like a copy. Constant competition. But with us, it's like, never been like that. I think it's always been like, I want the best for you and I want the best for me. If you win, I win. And, like, vice versa. And so I just, like, take what you guys say so deeply and I really internalize it. And like, it always helps. It always helps. Like, we, we just. I think we're the best people to give advice to each other because we, we understand each other's lives, like, better than anyone else would.
Megan
Yeah, I agree.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I went to a concert with two of my friends, and before the concert started, one of them said she was just gonna go say hi to another one of her friends that was also there, said she would be right back. We didn't see her again for the rest of the night.
Yoonjae
She only.
Megan
Yeah, I actually have a take on this.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah, tell me.
Megan
Okay. So I actually used to be that girl. And I. I can. And I can. I can be aware of it. Like, I would go to a party with a bunch of friends. I used to go to a party with a bunch of friends, and then I would disappear and never seen.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I've also done that.
Megan
And, like, I would leave the party with different people. And then it only. It took, like, a couple. A few times. I did that for, like, my friends to, like, confront me and be like, hey, like, I hate. Like, I hate when you do this. Like, I don't want to go out and party with you, and I don't want to do this with you if you're just going to leave. And honestly, that really helped me. Like, you just talk to them. Just because I wasn't aware. I didn't think that was. It was that deep until, like, someone told me their feelings about it.
Yunche
Oh, you didn't know?
Megan
I didn't know because I would go to these parties and be like, oh, my God, like, all my friends are here.
Yoonjae
I.
Yunche
Like, it's fine.
Megan
Like, we're having a blast. Like, I'm gonna uber home with these people.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Right. But to some other people, it's deeper.
Megan
It's so deep. So I'm like, okay. Like, I didn't realize that. I think I was just, like, unaware. So then once they said that I was like, okay. And I actually have been working on it.
Yoonjae
Good.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I'm the same way. I know a lot of people the same way. Yeah. I used to be the same way. I used to leave. And then you're like, one time I did it, I texted my friend, oh, my God, I can't believe I just left without you. I'm so sorry.
Megan
Yeah.
Yunche
I would be so upset.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I know.
Sophia
It's like, make you so.
Lara
Yes, that would make you upset.
Sophia
Like, call them.
Yunche
And, like, I'm like, hey, like, don't do that anymore.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Are you good at. Are you good at, like, telling someone when they've upset you?
Danny
Like, are you confrontational?
Sophia
Yeah, you actually are.
Danny
Yeah. Pretty good.
Sophia
I always say this every time somebody asks, like, what do people not really know about you? Or, like, all that stuff. Like, she's a lot more mature than people. People, I think. No, like, she is the youngest of the group, but she is so, like, emotionally intelligent. She's so mature, especially with, like, going through this. Like, she literally joined this when she was, like, 15. Like, she started, like, so, like, she, like, went to a country. She doesn't know how to speak English. Like, fully. Like, she was just learning English and she was alone. Her family's not here from Korea. With a different culture, especially in la. Like, come on.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Yeah.
Sophia
And with our schedule with a bunch of girls who are also from different countries. So she's not only dealing with American culture, she's dealing with all our culture cultures. Like, can you imagine?
Megan
So, like.
Sophia
But she's, like, so mature. So, like, she does, like, come up to us sometimes. She sees a situation and then we react differently. She reacts the way that, like, the adults do. Like, she's like. She's grown.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Okay. She's gross. What did we learn today?
Lara
So many things.
Megan
We learned a lot about.
Sophia
What did you learn about.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
You know, what I learned is that you guys are real. You're real sisters.
Lara
Yeah.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
You're a real friend. And I am leaving this feeling, like, so empowered and feeling, like,
Yoonjae
good.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Is that what. Okay. I'm so glad. And I. I was so anxious to talk to, like, five people at once, but you guys, like, make every space you're in so comfortable, so welcoming, so warm.
Lara
You made me feel so safe.
Sophia
You made me feel safe. Buzz your hair.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
I am a. Buzz my hair.
Lara
You have to let me do it.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Like, if I buzz my hair, it's.
Megan
Can I bleach it, please?
Host (Therapists Podcast)
You're buzz. You're buzzing.
Sophia
You're bleaching. Just kidding.
Yoonjae
Yeah. UJ does the piercing. Oh, my God.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Can you do piercings? You can do piercings.
Megan
No. We can learn.
Sophia
We can figure it out.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
Cat's eye. I love you. I love you.
Lara
Jake, Shane,
Host (Therapists Podcast)
thank you for coming on the show.
Yoonjae
Thank us.
Host (Therapists Podcast)
And the new single Animal is out now, now, now, now.
