Ashton Earl
Surprise. You know, I love a Friday episode drop, and who better to do it with than one of my best friends, Ashton Earl. I am so proud of her. I love her so much. Getting to know her over this past year has been such a joy. And I know you guys already know her, but if you don't, I am so excited for you guys to get to know her more. I have some of my most fun nights and some of my most fun weekends with her. She is truly just so wonderful and so kind and so humble and she is. It is just the beginning of her career and I'm so proud of her and I love her so much. We talk about Coachella and all the memories we've shared, and it's a really, really fun episode. We're a little dead. We filmed it literally the Monday getting back from Coachella, so we were dead. But it's very funny and I'm really excited for you guys to see it. Last night I literally finished the leftovers and I'm now in the market for a new TV show. I'm super, super devastated. I think. I think I'm going to maybe watch the new Black Mirror, but I also think I'm going to watch Veep. I don't really know. I can't decide if I want to continue down like the Dark route and do Black Mirror or do comedy and watch V, but I think I can't decide. For the first time, I think I'm going to do comedy also. Hacks is back, thank God. But yeah, it's Friday. Happy Friday. Love you and enjoy the episode. Hi, welcome to therapist, one of my best friends, Ashton Earl. Hey, Ashy.
Unknown Friend
Hi.
Ashton Earl
Are you nervous?
Unknown Friend
Yes, I am.
Ashton Earl
Why?
Unknown Friend
I don't know. This is intimidating.
Ashton Earl
You never get nervous? I. I actually feel like I never really see you nervous.
Unknown Friend
Really? I feel like.
Ashton Earl
No, I just lied.
Unknown Friend
Yeah, I'm always nervous.
Ashton Earl
You are always nervous. Wait, so how was Sunday of Coachella?
Unknown Friend
It was really fun, but we didn't go till like, we didn't get there till like 8pm because we were dead.
Ashton Earl
Okay. Do you think going forward you would only go to the festival then at like, do you prefer going at night then at all during the day or did you like going during the day?
Unknown Friend
Well, it's just like so hot during the day.
Ashton Earl
It was bad.
Unknown Friend
This year was really bad. It was like 100 degrees.
Ashton Earl
I thought Saturday was way less hot.
Unknown Friend
Yeah, Friday was horrible.
Ashton Earl
Friday, Ashton. Friday was.
Unknown Friend
No, no.
Ashton Earl
Okay, so who. Who was your favorite set that you saw all weekend?
Unknown Friend
Okay. Either Lady Gaga or Charlie xcx.
Ashton Earl
Okay, we're just gonna have to say Charlie XCX for the sake of this episode, because I miss Gaga.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
But did you see Kind Music or.
Unknown Friend
No, I did. They were good.
Ashton Earl
Oh, it wasn't all that you hoped and dreamed of?
Unknown Friend
No, I love them, but, like, they're just like. You know, they're just doing their thing. They're not, like, doing anything crazy, but it was really good.
Ashton Earl
Did they do, like, an ID? Isn't that what DJs call it? Like, an ID? Like. Like a song that they play that they like, do lie, like, never mind.
Unknown Friend
Did they do an idea?
Ashton Earl
Did they do, like, anything? Like, something you haven't heard before that you were like. Okay, like, when I saw Jamie XX live, like, he did like, a remix of don't you want me baby that, like, he doesn't have on streaming services, but, like, you could, like, maybe find on SoundCloud.
Unknown Friend
They did this one, the new Bad Bunny song. I forget what it's called. It was really good.
Ashton Earl
The photo one.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
Yeah.
Unknown Friend
And then they also did what? Moonlight by. Really good.
Ashton Earl
Sounds amazing.
Unknown Friend
It was really good. I loved it.
Ashton Earl
I wish I saw them. The reason I left that festival so early Saturdays, because I was so anxious about getting to that after party.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
When I just shouldn't have been.
Unknown Friend
Julian, Peyton were telling me you guys, like, sat in the car.
Ashton Earl
Yeah, I made them go to the car and sit in the car because we couldn't show up too early, but we couldn't show up too late. So we sat in the car with the AC on for 30 minutes because I was so scared about. Because I feel like when I'm with, like, you and, like, Alex and co. Like, Alex, like, just like, marches her way to the front and, like, figures it out, but I can't do that. So, like, if there's a line like, my night's over, like, essentially. You know what I mean? And I was nervous that there was gonna be a line, so I just, like, had to get there early.
Unknown Friend
Yeah. That's why I love going to things with Alex and Braxton 2 cuz.
Ashton Earl
Well, Braxton. Really?
Unknown Friend
Braxton, always. Yeah, he always takes care of everything.
Ashton Earl
How does he do that?
Unknown Friend
He's just perfect.
Ashton Earl
Yeah. She. Alex doesn't have to move a muscle.
Unknown Friend
No. Everyone can turn their brains off when Braxton's around.
Ashton Earl
That's what I did in Aspen. All weekend.
Unknown Friend
He just takes care of everything.
Ashton Earl
I think I have some of my most fun weekends with you.
Unknown Friend
Well, same.
Ashton Earl
What I'm trying to think of, like, all the weekends we've had together, we've had a lot. We've had the weekend in summer. We had two weekends in summer. Yeah, did. And then what else did we have? We had Aspen. We had Coachella.
Unknown Friend
We definitely had more.
Ashton Earl
We have more.
Unknown Friend
I have like half of our intel right now.
Ashton Earl
Oh. Oh. When did I come to Miami? We did Art Basel.
Unknown Friend
Oh, that was.
Ashton Earl
That was a day, though.
Unknown Friend
Yeah, I was gonna say you weren't there.
Ashton Earl
Key West.
Unknown Friend
Oh.
Ashton Earl
Key West. That was the most insane 24 hours of my entire life.
Unknown Friend
That was so much fun.
Ashton Earl
I don't know how you guys do it. Partying with you guys takes years off my lifespan.
Unknown Friend
Same.
Ashton Earl
No, but you, like, you don't get. Do you get down bad? You get down bad in silence.
Unknown Friend
Yeah, but like, I'm fine.
Ashton Earl
Yeah, you get fine.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
Alice, Alex gets like. She struggles.
Unknown Friend
She struggles. I feel like you struggle.
Ashton Earl
Dude, I came home yesterday. Like, I came home yesterday. I was so down. I mean, you. You could have seen the way I was behaving Saturday night and known that I was going home the next day.
Unknown Friend
Wait. You were so happy. That was. That made me so happy. You were like, I'm having the best time ever. You just kept doing your little dancing dance the whole night. You kept being like, this is the best night ever.
Ashton Earl
It was the best night ever. Also the best part of that night. Okay, well, I would say the best part of that night was that when we were all first dancing. But then when everyone went home and we thought the night was over and we were super anxious, but then the dance floor filled up again. Yeah, but that was short lived.
Unknown Friend
Yeah, I feel like people were like really in and out of that dance.
Ashton Earl
People were. Well, when we were on it, no one was on it.
Unknown Friend
Yeah, I think everyone left when we got.
Ashton Earl
But you know what the best night ever with you was?
Unknown Friend
What?
Ashton Earl
Aspen Night two.
Unknown Friend
That was so much fun.
Ashton Earl
That was the best night of my life. I don't think we stopped dancing once.
Unknown Friend
No. I love dancing with you.
Ashton Earl
I know. I love dancing with you too. And all your friends were there. Oh, my God. We also had New Orleans together. I totally forgot about that.
Unknown Friend
Oh, my God, I forgot about that too.
Ashton Earl
Damn. We really have had. I've been in like every state with you.
Unknown Friend
We're just like traveling the world.
Ashton Earl
We're just traveling. I feel like there's so many things I didn't ask you because I wanted to save for the podcast. Okay, so what are you in LA for this week?
Unknown Friend
I'm here for this. And that's it.
Ashton Earl
Wait, so what you want to do tomorrow?
Unknown Friend
I don't know.
Ashton Earl
We'll get dinner. Yeah, I'm not doing anything unless I have my date.
Unknown Friend
I might just move. Date?
Ashton Earl
You didn't see me flirting with that guy all night.
Unknown Friend
Oh, I did. I did. You're going on a date?
Ashton Earl
Well, I think so. I kind of. This was the thing. I don't know. How do you go about this with hot mess where, like, I want to talk about my love life, but, like, I don't want guys to send it to me.
Unknown Friend
Yeah, that's hard.
Ashton Earl
I need the Alex mindset of, like, who cares?
Unknown Friend
Yeah, who cares?
Ashton Earl
Yeah, but, like, I care. I know I care so much. But that guy was. The guy was flirting with the entire night is taking me out on a date.
Unknown Friend
Yay. Do you know where you're going?
Ashton Earl
Sushi somewhere. Which is bad because I'm the messiest eater with sushi.
Unknown Friend
It's okay. It's better than, like, tacos.
Ashton Earl
I love your hat.
Unknown Friend
Oh, this is actually a gift for you.
Ashton Earl
Thank you. You know what? We really, really, really aligned for this because I said I was going to ask you about DJs, because I've never been to DJ.
Unknown Friend
DJs is this bar in New Jersey in Belmar, on the Shore. It is insane. It's just like. It's like what you imagine, like, the Jersey Shore would be in a club.
Ashton Earl
We need to go.
Unknown Friend
You would love it.
Ashton Earl
I wanted to come for Memorial Day weekend, but I can't.
Unknown Friend
No, I know. Why not?
Ashton Earl
I have a show in Vegas on Saturday. Wait, but it's a Memorial weekend. Sunday. Monday, too, I think. I'm not making it.
Unknown Friend
No, you're not.
Ashton Earl
I'm not making it.
Unknown Friend
But anyway, yeah, DJs is like. You've got, like, tan, like, guido men in there, and it's just, like, everyone's fist pumping and, like, drinking grenades, and it's a really.
Ashton Earl
Drinking. A grenade. What's a grenade?
Unknown Friend
They're like these little red drinks. I don't really know what they are, but you just, like, get them and you have to, like, chug them. We call them smokies at Tulane. But essentially, it's like, are you gonna miss. I'm gonna miss so much.
Ashton Earl
When? When are you done? And I'm, like, literally, what, like, two weeks?
Unknown Friend
No, a month? Well, actually, no. My classes end in, like, two weeks. Whoa. But my graduation's in a month.
Ashton Earl
Are you sad?
Unknown Friend
Yeah, I'm gonna miss it. But also ready. I'm ready. I don't think I could do Another semester of school, I would crash out.
Ashton Earl
Yeah. Wait, so. But okay, when you go back to Tulane, I assume you're going back this Wednesday.
Unknown Friend
We randomly have Tuesday and Wednesday off this week. Okay, so I already missed today, which was Monday, and then I only have Thursday classes, so I'm probably just gonna miss Thursday. I think I'm going. Or, no, I am going to New York on Wednesday, and then I have meetings Thursday, and then I was gonna stay in New Jersey for Easter because that's on Sunday, but now I might go back on Friday.
Ashton Earl
Do you think people would party in New Orleans on Easter? Like, you guys find any excuse to party at Tulane?
Unknown Friend
Oh, yeah, we have, like. I'm pretty sure there's a parade. There's a parade for everything in New Orleans, but, yeah, I don't know if we'd party for Easter.
Ashton Earl
I know. I almost went to Tulane.
Unknown Friend
You should have.
Ashton Earl
Tell me why you're ready to go.
Unknown Friend
I just go out way too much there.
Ashton Earl
Like, what is your going out schedule?
Unknown Friend
Like? I don't have a schedule, but I also live right next to this bar called the Boot, which is literally on campus. Just like a bar. I end up there every single night for no reason. Like, I'll be going to dinner with my friends, and then somehow my friends are like, let's go to the boo. And I'm like, okay, it's right next to my house. Might as well stop in. I go out every night.
Ashton Earl
And is it packed every night?
Unknown Friend
No, I'm always, like, the only one in there. No, not always. Like, there's a lot of times where it's just me and, like, five of my friends, and I. I can't keep going out like this.
Ashton Earl
Are you 22?
Unknown Friend
Yeah, I just turned 22.
Ashton Earl
Okay, so you're gonna be 22 for, like, the first half of post grad. You're gonna love it.
Unknown Friend
I'm so excited.
Ashton Earl
22 was, like, the most fun year of my life.
Unknown Friend
I can't wait to play in the city.
Ashton Earl
Are you okay? So you're doing New York after college. So when are you planning to move? June.
Unknown Friend
Ideally, I'd like to move immediately, but I might go on, like, a grad trip, like, to Europe with my friends. So that would, like, go into the first week or two of June.
Ashton Earl
So I think you have to do that.
Unknown Friend
Yeah, I really want to.
Ashton Earl
Do all your friends want to?
Unknown Friend
Yeah, we're, like, trying to figure it out. We're just really bad at planning things.
Ashton Earl
What countries are you thinking?
Unknown Friend
Ibiza, Croatia. Saint Tropez.
Ashton Earl
Honestly, I could use some ideas because I have a weekend, a four day span when I'm in France that I can go somewhere and I'm deciding where to go. And I wanted to do Ibiza, but I had a panic attack about it this morning.
Unknown Friend
Why?
Ashton Earl
Did Julian Payton tell you? No, I had a freak. I literally woke up and I was like, I can't go to Ibiza.
Unknown Friend
Why?
Ashton Earl
Because. Can you imagine me in Ibiza?
Unknown Friend
Wait, you. We have to go together, though.
Ashton Earl
I am someone who, when I go out, like, I take the words of like, I am never going out again. So literally, like, I woke up yesterday and I was like, never again. And, like, I meant it, every word of it. Never again. Like, I'm never doing that again. So obviously, when I woke up this morning again, I was like, I can't go to Ibiza. Like, what are we talking about? I can't go to Ibiza. And so I canceled Ibiza.
Unknown Friend
You could do Ibiza, though.
Ashton Earl
Maybe. Maybe. Maybe one day.
Unknown Friend
There's, like, nice beaches in Ibiza, too.
Ashton Earl
Totally. But, like, I know that if I didn't want to go out one night, Peyton would be like, but we're in Ibiza.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
And then I would be like, well, I have nothing to say. Okay, so I want to go to Mallorca.
Unknown Friend
Yeah, Mallorca seems really nice. I've never been, but when I went to Ibiza when I was abroad, I lost my phone the first night and so.
Ashton Earl
Wait, when were you abroad again? Junior year.
Unknown Friend
The beginning of my junior year.
Ashton Earl
And where'd you go?
Unknown Friend
I was in Florence.
Ashton Earl
Right.
Unknown Friend
Love Florence. But yeah, we went to Ibiza and I got too drunk at dinner and lost my phone. I didn't even make it to the club, so they didn't have an Apple store. And I didn't bring my computer either, because I was like, it's a two day trip. Or no, it was like three days. But I was like, I'm not gonna use my computer at all. So no computer, no phone. Thank God. I had my friend with me who was going back to Florence with me, and she was able to, like, get my ticket on her phone.
Ashton Earl
Did you feel free?
Unknown Friend
I was a little stressed at first. I was, like, calling my dad on my phone. I was like, dad, I don't know what to do. I think someone stole it because it, like, you know when, like, the location shuts off and it was like, it was a goner.
Ashton Earl
I'm sure. How many times have you lost your phone?
Unknown Friend
Well, I lost mine twice abroad, but got it totally the Other time was in Barcelona. Me and Spain have, like, some weird thing.
Ashton Earl
I love Spain.
Unknown Friend
Yeah. I don't know if Spain loves me, but it is fun.
Ashton Earl
It's. Well, I've never gone out there, but I know how fun it is.
Unknown Friend
Yeah. When everywhere I went abroad, I really just, like, went out everywhere I got abroad.
Ashton Earl
Stolen from me.
Unknown Friend
No.
Ashton Earl
By Covid.
Unknown Friend
No. Yeah, we were.
Ashton Earl
Me and Julie were supposed to share an apartment in London.
Unknown Friend
Oh, my God, I love London.
Ashton Earl
It's my favorite city in the world.
Unknown Friend
I want to move there too.
Ashton Earl
Me too.
Unknown Friend
Would you move with me?
Ashton Earl
Yes. No. Yes, I would. I would absolutely do a year in London with you.
Unknown Friend
That would be so much fun.
Ashton Earl
We have to go. When Chiltern firehouse isn't on fire anymore.
Unknown Friend
It's on fire.
Ashton Earl
It was on fire and it shut down.
Unknown Friend
What?
Ashton Earl
For like a year? Have you been before to Chilton? It's. I've never had more fun in my life.
Unknown Friend
Wait, when did it burn down?
Ashton Earl
Like, four weeks ago. It happened like.
Unknown Friend
Wait, that's tragic.
Ashton Earl
I know. And it's like, shut down for the year or like, something.
Unknown Friend
Okay, so maybe I'll move to New York for a year and then we'll go to London for a year.
Ashton Earl
And I see you wanting to, like, move around after you do New York for a year.
Unknown Friend
Oh, absolutely.
Ashton Earl
Are you? Is. So who's going to be. Are a bunch of your friends doing New York after?
Unknown Friend
Like, like, half of them are.
Ashton Earl
Where else are they going?
Unknown Friend
Miami, I think. Just like, Miami, Florida. I have a lot of Florida friends at school and they just love Miami and never want to leave.
Ashton Earl
Oh, back to the lost phone. So you. Have you only ever lost your phone abroad.
Unknown Friend
In, like, recent years? Yes.
Ashton Earl
Every time I've lost my phone, I found it.
Unknown Friend
Really?
Ashton Earl
So the first time I lost it, I blacked out and woke up with a gash in my head and no phone.
Unknown Friend
Oh, wow.
Ashton Earl
So I found my phone later that day. Someone had taken it. Then the next time I lost my phone, I blacked out and left it in the middle of the street in a puddle.
Unknown Friend
Okay.
Ashton Earl
Three blocks away from my apartment.
Unknown Friend
But you found it. Yep.
Ashton Earl
I made Peyton drive me. At six in the morning I woke up, I said, peyton, I'm free. This is why I can't, like, be adventurous and go out alone. Bad things happen. Like, I was alone that night.
Unknown Friend
You were alone?
Ashton Earl
Yes. Like, hi, Ashton, I used to be so adventurous, okay? I used to go out four times a week. Like, I know you would never guess it now, but, like, I really did, like, I did that back in the day.
Unknown Friend
Okay.
Ashton Earl
Then I don't know what happened. Oh, I think I started smoking a lot of weed, and I was like, I can't do this anymore. Yeah.
Unknown Friend
And then you become, like, a hermit.
Ashton Earl
Yeah, I became a hermit.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
Speaking of non hermit like things, though, you were just on the COVID of Vogue. Can you tell me what that was like, please? Because I never got to ask you about that. Really?
Unknown Friend
I still don't believe it's real.
Ashton Earl
I'm. I also was like, wait, what? When I opened up my phone to it, I literally. My jaw hit the floor.
Unknown Friend
No. When Alex, like, FaceTimed me to tell me that, like, we had, like, the offer to, like, be on the COVID of Vogue, I was like, she yelled at me. She's like, you're not excited? I was like, I don't even know. I was just like.
Ashton Earl
You could process.
Unknown Friend
I was just like, okay, wait. I don't even. Like, it still doesn't feel real. Like, I was just like, wait. I don't. I don't know how to, like, accept things that, like, are things that I've, like, really, really wanted or, like, dreamed of before. It, like, doesn't feel real. I have really bad imposter syndrome with, like, everything. But it was so cool and so fun, and I still can't believe that happened. Holy.
Ashton Earl
Do you have the print copy in your house?
Unknown Friend
No, I don't. I need to get it.
Ashton Earl
Are you excited? Was it like, when you were shooting it? Were you, like, did it only feel real when it. Sometimes with that stuff, I feel like, does it only feel real when it, like, goes live and you're like, okay, it's real?
Unknown Friend
Yeah. I saw. We were shooting. I was like, okay, like, we're just doing a fun little photo shoot. But I was like. And then I saw, like, the Vogue, and I was like, holy.
Ashton Earl
Seriously, the coolest thing I've ever seen.
Unknown Friend
No, and I think it's so funny. It's like, of course, like, me holding Alex on my back.
Ashton Earl
It was perfect. The shot. The shot they chose was perfect.
Unknown Friend
You should have seen some of the other poses we were doing. She was, like, on my shoulders at one point.
Ashton Earl
What were some other alts for the.
Unknown Friend
COVID Um, honestly, I don't even know. I think they sent, like, all the approvals to Alex, and I was like.
Ashton Earl
Yeah, just do it.
Unknown Friend
Yeah. I was like, you pick.
Ashton Earl
What are other times that you've had, like, really bad imposter syndrome?
Unknown Friend
Like, literally everything in my life, you know?
Ashton Earl
Yeah.
Unknown Friend
Just like, someone came up to Me at your show, actually, in New Orleans. And she was like. She was like, oh, my God. So nice to meet you. But she was sobbing, and I was like, girl. I was like, girl, we're just girls. Like, it's okay.
Ashton Earl
Right, Right, Right. But isn't that so cool that you have that effect on someone?
Unknown Friend
No. Makes me sick. I don't know.
Ashton Earl
Sick, too. I like, sick.
Unknown Friend
I, like, love meeting people, though. But it's, like, crazy to me. I'm like, we're just like. I'm just a normal. That's what I always say to people. I'm like, I'm just a normal girl. I promise.
Ashton Earl
Yeah. But, like, I think what has, like, I feel like junior year. Like, you were doing social media your junior year, but I feel like it changed a lot from junior to senior.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
I feel like this summer was like, yeah, the major shift. Well, how has junior year been different? Or how has senior year been different than junior year in terms of, like, just, like, work and everything. And school.
Unknown Friend
Yeah. Well, at school, I feel like no one used to come up to me when I was out, but now, like, people do. Like, if I'm out and there'll be, like, freshmen or even, like, sometimes, like, high schoolers will be at the booth. They're like, don't tell anyone we're in high school. I'm like, I love you.
Ashton Earl
Yeah, like.
Unknown Friend
Like, iconic, but yeah, like, people. More people just coming up to me and, like, recognizing me, I guess. And then. Yeah. I've been doing more, like, opportunities, like interviews and, like.
Ashton Earl
Right.
Unknown Friend
Stuff like that.
Ashton Earl
But what do you think the moment that, like, you felt, like, the real shift was? Because I remember when I felt it for you.
Unknown Friend
Do you?
Ashton Earl
Yeah. It was the week Brat came out.
Unknown Friend
Oh.
Ashton Earl
And I just remember seeing you everywhere. No, no, no, no, no. It wasn't the week Brat came out. It was, you know, it was a few weeks before I met you at Coachella.
Unknown Friend
Oh, really?
Ashton Earl
That's when I started to feel the shift, and I thought you were, like, the coolest person ever. And I remember, like, I came up to you, and I was like, do you remember we were behind each other, and I was like, oh, my God, I'm so nice to finally meet you. I think you're the coolest person in the world.
Unknown Friend
I feel like I was so rude to you when we met.
Ashton Earl
You what?
Unknown Friend
I was, like, kind of, like, anxious in the crowd, and I was just like, hi. Like, nice to meet you.
Ashton Earl
I wasn't very like, I think you have rudeness, dysmorphia. You were super lovely.
Unknown Friend
I think I'm a horrible person.
Ashton Earl
No.
Unknown Friend
Every time I interact with people, I'm like, oh, my God, I'm a horrible person.
Ashton Earl
No, you were super lovely. We. We literally hung out the entire night. And then the week Brat came out. We were in the New York the same weekend. And I messaged you.
Unknown Friend
We did together.
Ashton Earl
Are you gonna be at this thing? You were like, yes. Are you gonna be at this thing? And I was like, yes. And we hung out the entire weekend.
Unknown Friend
I'm so happy you messaged me.
Ashton Earl
I know. Because I was like. I was like, I want to. I was like. I was like, I want. I feel like she's gonna go, I don't know if she's gonna go, whatever. And I just pulled the trigger. And I'm so, so happy. I did.
Unknown Friend
So grateful for that.
Ashton Earl
Because then we had the best weekend of our lives. That was the best weekend of our lives.
Unknown Friend
No, I had so much fun. And we became best friends.
Ashton Earl
That weekend changed the trajectory of my entire life, honestly.
Unknown Friend
Same.
Ashton Earl
That was what I like to. That was my brat weekend.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
That was the peak of brat.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
We were in Vegas.
Unknown Friend
It was so good.
Ashton Earl
Then we flew to the Hamptons. Like, when people ask me what my brat summer was like, I always think of that weekend.
Unknown Friend
Me too. Just like that time together. Wow.
Ashton Earl
That was like the best weekend ever. And then we. And then Alex's boat think was on like a Sunday, and we still. That was the funniest night of my life. Because your friend Gianna was, like, my favorite person on planet Earth.
Unknown Friend
I miss her.
Ashton Earl
She's my everything. Gianna, if you're watching, I'm so glad you guys met. She was making me cry, laughing that night. I don't know why. It was just like her cadence of the way she was speaking to me was, like, so fucking funny. It reminded me of my best friend Cassidy. Like, everything she was saying was making me. Who ha. Like, I was in hysterics at this girl. Oh, I miss her.
Unknown Friend
I miss her too.
Ashton Earl
Are you. Is she gonna do New York after?
Unknown Friend
I don't know. I remember she mentioned, like, Chicago, but I was like, I could see you in, like, Brooklyn and then.
Ashton Earl
Oh, I could so see her.
Unknown Friend
I actually took her when we went to see Charlie in Brooklyn in May or like, the beginning of June. I took her and I was like, I could so see you in Brooklyn. And then we went out that night. She's like, wait. Yeah.
Ashton Earl
Wait, so you saw that was opening night of Brat, right?
Unknown Friend
It was the first time she performed Brat.
Ashton Earl
What was that? Like?
Unknown Friend
I. No, that I think changed the trajectory of my summer and, like, my life.
Ashton Earl
Like, I remember seeing the videos of you dancing on, like, tables there, and I was like, oh, this is a vibe.
Unknown Friend
It was the best night ever. It was just me, Catherine and Gianna and like, it was her first time performing Brat and she just. She killed it, obviously. And we just danced the whole time. And then we. There was like an after party at the place there.
Ashton Earl
Huh.
Unknown Friend
And we were there and we were next to her. Gianna actually went up to Charlie and she was like, please let me buy you like, your drink. And she was like, no. Like, it's okay. And Gianna was like, please, please, please. That was the best.
Ashton Earl
She was just like, chilling at the after party with you guys?
Unknown Friend
Yeah, it was just like. It was like, small, like at the theater.
Ashton Earl
But was it fun?
Unknown Friend
It was cool. Like, there's a lot of cool people there.
Ashton Earl
Did you meet Terry?
Unknown Friend
No. No.
Ashton Earl
You love him?
Unknown Friend
No, I met him at the Super Bowl.
Ashton Earl
He. Terry o' Connor? Yeah, he. You should shoot with him sometime. He's super, super talented.
Unknown Friend
Wait, I love him.
Ashton Earl
He's lovely, amazing. But what that Brat? That also, like, I loved the album, but I remember, like, seeing. I don't know, like, that just. I remember that concert specifically was like. So that was the kickoff to Brat Summer. Because I remember, like, that's where like, all the Brat Summer shit started. It was the one in Brooklyn. Yeah, it was. Yes, you just said that. And God, I'm so jealous you went.
Unknown Friend
Yeah, it was honestly amazing.
Ashton Earl
Do you have like, the. What is the. Your most favorite concert you've ever been to? Because I know mine.
Unknown Friend
Okay. You tell yours.
Ashton Earl
Charlie Coachella. Yeah, like, Charlie Coachella, when she did the very end where it was like, I guess this means Brat Summer's officially over. And then.
Unknown Friend
Oh my God, that was.
Ashton Earl
Where am I so good. That was just so.
Unknown Friend
It's so like. I was just like, I get it.
Ashton Earl
Like, she's been waiting for it to be over too. I know, but I think she's, like, dealing with this thing of, like, she wants it to be over. I mean, she literally wrote it out. She's like, I want it to be over, but I don't know who I am without it. She, like, wants this moment.
Unknown Friend
I just, like, now she just, like, gets it on another level. Like the way she just was like, idk. Maybe I was just like, yeah, that's.
Ashton Earl
Just the coolest girl. She's the coolest girl in the world.
Unknown Friend
No, actually, Though, first of all, she brought out Troy. He's so hot.
Ashton Earl
Most gorgeous person.
Unknown Friend
I was, like, literally drooling over him.
Ashton Earl
No, he is drop dead gorgeous.
Unknown Friend
He was so hot. And then Lord, also so hot. So good.
Ashton Earl
Lord was when.
Unknown Friend
When they, like, strutted.
Ashton Earl
When she. When they. When. Because they did, though. You walk like a bitch thing. And they walked down. It was so fudgeing sick. I also loved when. Who else did you bring out? It was Lily. It was Billy.
Unknown Friend
I cried when Billy came up. You know, Billy's like, my number one all time.
Ashton Earl
She's your number one artist? Have you seen her concert? Live?
Unknown Friend
Yes.
Ashton Earl
Every concert I see of hers gets better and better and better and better.
Unknown Friend
I've seen her twice. I am like, that is the one artist that, like, I. Well, not actually her. And, like, Lana and Charlie.
Ashton Earl
Yeah.
Unknown Friend
Honestly. But, like, Billy has just been, like, the one that, like, since I was in, like, eighth grade, I think, or freshman year, I've just been like, learn every song, know every song, love every song.
Ashton Earl
What's your favorite Billy song? It changes mine's watch. And Billy says that's, like, the song she hates the most.
Unknown Friend
Really?
Ashton Earl
Yeah. She's like, I hate that song. And that song. That song got me through some.
Unknown Friend
Really?
Ashton Earl
Yes. That song that got me through hell. I love that song.
Unknown Friend
It is a good one. But that's not my favorite.
Ashton Earl
Have you seen Happier Than Ever Live?
Unknown Friend
Yeah, I saw that. That album tour in concert.
Ashton Earl
Was it amazing?
Unknown Friend
Oh, my.
Ashton Earl
I love that album.
Unknown Friend
You know that song. It's like every time I listen to her songs, it's just like, they always have a new meaning in my life. Like, no matter what time of, like, my life makes her a superstar. I listened to Happier Than Ever, like, recently this summer, and I was in the car with my little sister, and I started sobbing.
Ashton Earl
Really?
Unknown Friend
Yeah, just sobbing. And I was like, I've heard this song a million times, and I've, like, sang it a million times. But for some reason this summer, it just, like, hit so hard and. And she was like, are you okay? And I was like, no. What was I made for? Really, really came out also, like, during a time when I was just, like. I think, like, me and my boyfriend had, like, just broken up, and I was like, one of those things where I was like, I don't really know, like, who I am without him and like, all this stuff because I started dating him when I was, like, 16, and then, like, we broke up when I was almost 20. So I was like, big age shift. And I was like, super, like, reliant on him. But. So when that came out, I. I was a mess. The Barbie movie literally made me cry. Shaking head and hands for, like, three hours, I couldn't stop crying. My friends were all like, are you okay? It was like, no.
Ashton Earl
And it was right after you broke up with your boyfriend.
Unknown Friend
It was like, we broke up at, like, the end of March, and then it was, like, the beginning of summer, I think. When the movie came out, was it.
Ashton Earl
Like, a tough breakup or was it.
Unknown Friend
It was just like. We dated for, like, three and a half years, right? And it was just like my first boyfriend. And it was just weird, but, like, it just ran its course kind of. But it was. It was hard.
Ashton Earl
Your sophomore year?
Unknown Friend
Yeah, the end of my sophomore year. So we dated, like, from my junior year to, like, my sophomore year of college.
Ashton Earl
Yeah. You guys, spring and festival season is upon us, and so is summer, and we. What would make spring festival season, summer, even more fun? A love interest. Whether it be a crush or someone you are seeing, Tinder has it all. Okay. The thing I have learned about dating apps is that you never know if you don't try. Okay. And then my favorite part about Tinder is when you like someone, they can't see if you like them. They will only see if they like you back. And it's a match, so there's really nothing to lose. You know what I mean? And, like, I feel like we're in the day and age where people are so embarrassed to put themselves out there, but Tinder really does make it so easy to do that. It's like shooting your shot, and the shot can only go in. Also, you guys know I'm in my dating era. I'm really trying to put myself out there. And Tinder does just make it so accessible to comfortably put myself out there, because I'm not, like, embarrassed if they don't like me back. You know what I mean? Like, I just. Ignorance is bliss. Also, like, what I've always dreamed of is a summer love fling. And I know that hopefully I can find one on Tinder. And the only way to find that is to swipe right. But it starts now, on Tinder. It's never been easier to find a summer fling. All you have to do is swipe right. Thank you, Tinder, for sponsoring tonight's episode. Explore all the possibilities for yourself on Tinder. It starts with a swipe. Download Tinder today. What other music got you through that breakup?
Unknown Friend
Oh, I just really like sad music.
Ashton Earl
Me too.
Unknown Friend
I like to, like, bask in It. I was listening to a lot of like, boy genius. Yeah, that's what I remember the most. Like, the boy genius.
Ashton Earl
Oh, you reminded me about Phoebe Bridgers this winter, and I was like, I need a new album from her desperately.
Unknown Friend
I know.
Ashton Earl
It's been like, what, five years?
Unknown Friend
Has it been?
Ashton Earl
Yeah, since Punisher. It's been five years. And I love that album.
Unknown Friend
Yeah. Does she, like, have any plans to make new music?
Ashton Earl
Not that I've heard of, but, like, I'm sure she is. I'm excited for Lord.
Unknown Friend
Oh, I'm so.
Ashton Earl
I need Lord. Well, because Charlie said it's a Lord summer, which means Lord is coming very soon.
Unknown Friend
Oh, my God. Wait, did you hear Addison's dropping an.
Ashton Earl
Album again June 8th or something? I think this summer is gonna be amazing for music.
Unknown Friend
Yeah. Like, last summer was amazing for music, but I think it's just gonna be great again.
Ashton Earl
And then because last summer was amazing, those people that released last summer are also going to release next summer. So we're just like, it's just gonna keep.
Unknown Friend
It's gonna keep getting great.
Ashton Earl
Never ending good musical. I feel like we're in an era where there's so much music output right now. There's like. Because it's like streaming, so everyone needs to keep putting out and putting out. Putting out.
Unknown Friend
Well, and I'm loving it.
Ashton Earl
Me too. And I think I just love it. I'm so excited for what's her name's Lord's album.
Unknown Friend
Oh, no. I know. Wait, do we know when it's coming out?
Ashton Earl
But I know it's coming. Wait, Charlie said, like, it's a Lord summer, which means it's coming for summer.
Unknown Friend
Do we know Is Lana coming out with an album?
Ashton Earl
What is the date she announced? She. Lana always picks a date and then ignores it. But I want to say she picked June something. It's not going to be June. It's going to be like July or August. But, like, I need it.
Unknown Friend
I need it.
Ashton Earl
I need it. I obsessed with her.
Unknown Friend
Wait, I didn't listen to her new song yet.
Ashton Earl
Did you, Henry? Come on. I did.
Unknown Friend
Is it good?
Ashton Earl
I like it a lot. Like, I want her. She said it's a country album. Like, I want some twang in there.
Unknown Friend
Oh, really?
Ashton Earl
Like, I want some Lana twang. Like, I think she could kill it. You know who I really want to return to country really badly?
Unknown Friend
Who?
Ashton Earl
But she. I know she won't. Taylor.
Unknown Friend
Oh, that would kind of be iconic, though.
Ashton Earl
You know what? Actually, I just came up with this in my mind. I think for her 13th album, she's going to go back to country.
Unknown Friend
Okay, you heard it here first.
Ashton Earl
You heard it here first. TS13 is going to be country because TS12 is confirmed pop. She's working with, like, Max Martin, who's my literal favorite producer of all time, and she's working with, like, all these, like, major pop producers. So I know TS12 is going to be pop. I think TS13 is going to be country, and I think it will. When Taylor Swift goes back to country, it will rock the world. It will rock the world. No rocking the world. Did you feel the earthquake today?
Unknown Friend
No, I was dead asleep.
Ashton Earl
Got it. It was 6.8, so. Oh, you didn't wake up?
Unknown Friend
No, I went to bed at 6:30am and slept, like.
Ashton Earl
From last night?
Unknown Friend
Yes.
Ashton Earl
That's how late you guys went out last night?
Unknown Friend
Yes. I saw the sunrise.
Ashton Earl
That sounds amazing.
Unknown Friend
It was kind of scary.
Ashton Earl
Okay.
Unknown Friend
It was like I was in a house party and, like, the sun came up and I was like, oh, I need to go.
Ashton Earl
Do you ever have, like. Okay, I've had that feeling before, too. One time I went to this SNL after party. Have you been to an SNL after party?
Unknown Friend
No. Oh, can you bring me?
Ashton Earl
You will get invited on your own. Like, they are, but. Yes, but they are the most fun I've ever had in my entire life.
Unknown Friend
Really?
Ashton Earl
And now that you're moving into. Now that you're moving to New York, they happen while SNL is, like, on season. Like, they happen every Saturday night, and they go until like, seven in the morning.
Unknown Friend
Oh, wow.
Ashton Earl
And one time I went to one and I looked up at the sky because it was, like, at a bar that was half indoor, half outdoor. And it was just, like, so bright out. And I was like, life is awesome.
Unknown Friend
It kind of is, like, euphoric when you see, like, the sunrise and you're like, at a party. Or it can be like, ooh, like, really scary. It depends on the vibes of the party.
Ashton Earl
I don't think I've ever. I think. I think I'm, like, the coolest person in the world every time the sun rises. I know that there was one time where I was like, we, like, I got to go home.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
Like, this isn't it for me.
Unknown Friend
I've had a few moments where I'm like, oh, this is a little dark. I mean, to get out of here.
Ashton Earl
But, like, my thing is, is, like, I wish. I know this sounds so lame, and I know I'm not that old. I know I'm not old, but, like, I really Wish I was 22 again. I'm so jealous that you get to experience 22. It seriously was like this. You nothing matters.
Unknown Friend
Like, honestly, I'm so excited for 22. The first week of 22 was fabulous. I had my birthday party, and then what did I do?
Ashton Earl
I think you literally came to Coachella. Yeah.
Unknown Friend
And my birthday party, which was the best party of my life. And then.
Ashton Earl
What was that? What was the vibe of your birthday party? What was the theme again? It was like burlesque. Burlesque, right.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
And what? You first.
Unknown Friend
Have you seen the movie Burlesque?
Ashton Earl
No.
Unknown Friend
Oh, we should watch it tonight.
Ashton Earl
Is it good?
Unknown Friend
Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
Ashton Earl
Is it that good?
Unknown Friend
It is the best movie ever. When I was 11, me and my cousin watched this movie, and we became obsessed. Like, we would watch it every time we had a sleepover. We would learn all the dances, sing all the songs, and it was just, like, a really defining movie from my childhood. It's not a children's movie.
Ashton Earl
No, but you are not the first person I've heard say that.
Unknown Friend
Everyone I know that watched it as a child, they all agree. And then even my friends in college that I showed them the movie in college, they were like, this is the best movie ever.
Ashton Earl
Okay. I think I'm okay. Well, I can't watch it tonight because I'm watching. Have you ever seen the Leftovers?
Unknown Friend
No. What is that?
Ashton Earl
Do you like, like, dark tv?
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
Okay, so it's basically. It's the only show. I'm so hyper fixated on this I have using the Leftovers. Oh, my God. I am so hyper fixated on the show right now. It's basically about if the rap. Wait, I totally just interrupted your story about what your birthday party theme was.
Unknown Friend
Oh, it's okay.
Ashton Earl
No, it's not.
Unknown Friend
No, I don't care.
Ashton Earl
I care. What was your birthday party theme?
Unknown Friend
Okay, my birthday party theme was burlesque, but it was fun. We went to this, Like, I had, like. Oh, my God.
Ashton Earl
Sorry. It's day, technically, day four of Coachella.
Unknown Friend
It's.
Ashton Earl
Don't worry.
Unknown Friend
It's a long day. We rented out this cocktail lounge bar place, and they do, like, a burlesque show once a month that people buy tickets for. But we had, like, a private party there, and then they did, like, a burlesque performance. It was really, really fun.
Ashton Earl
Did you do this on a Sunday?
Unknown Friend
Yeah, I did this.
Ashton Earl
Why did you do it? Because I was like, oh, she's doing it on Sunday because her birthday was on Sunday. But then Your birthday was on Monday.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
Oh. Because you did it to turn midnight. Understood. I did. I. Because I'm in that mindset of, like, people. Did everyone go out on that Sunday?
Unknown Friend
Oh, yes. And everyone blacked out. That was all I wanted. I was like, I want everyone to come to my birthday and have the best time and black out. And everyone. I got text the whole next day. They're like, I. People are like, I've never been so drunk in my life.
Ashton Earl
But that was feeling.
Unknown Friend
But everyone was like, it was the best night of my life. And I was like, it was the best night of my life. So I'm glad we're all in the same boat.
Ashton Earl
When you throw a party and everyone texts you the next day, being like, I have never been so drunk. It's like, actually the greatest feeling in planet Earth.
Unknown Friend
No, it was great.
Ashton Earl
It's like, oh, I did. I was. Succeeded.
Unknown Friend
No. And we had Ashtinis on the menu, and literally it just said, like, vodka and cucumber water, and everyone was drinking them. And I was like, it might have been that.
Ashton Earl
What is an Ashtini again? It's just you gave it to me in Miami.
Unknown Friend
Okay. Yeah. Well, the actual Ashtini, which I didn't want to put on the menu because I would be the only one drinking it.
Ashton Earl
Right.
Unknown Friend
It's just vodka. No. Vermouth shaken with a twist.
Ashton Earl
So it's vodka.
Unknown Friend
So it's just cold. It's cold vodka with a lemon peel in it.
Ashton Earl
Got it totally right. I was like, because you gave me them that night we went out and Miami, and I blacked out, and I was like, why did I black out so hard? It was Ashtini.
Unknown Friend
Yeah. They're dangerous.
Ashton Earl
They are dangerous.
Unknown Friend
But I love them.
Ashton Earl
You do. And I will say, blacking out on a Sunday is one of the. Is God's gift to this earth?
Unknown Friend
No. And it was great because no one wanted to go out, and I forced everyone to go out.
Ashton Earl
No. But every time I've gone out on a Sunday, it's like such a send. Like, it's such a full send. It's like, it's Sunday. Like, we've made the move to go out. We're taking this all the way.
Unknown Friend
No. And you want to know, like, why I'm a psychopath as well.
Ashton Earl
Why?
Unknown Friend
It was from 8:00pm to 2:00am that's aggressive. Yeah.
Ashton Earl
That's insanely aggressive.
Unknown Friend
I'm insane. I literally was like, everyone's like, what are we doing? I'm like, you'll see.
Ashton Earl
And did you stay there until 2am Yes.
Unknown Friend
I remember when, like, people started leaving. I was like, where's everyone going? I look at my phone, it was 155. I was like, wait, where did the time go?
Ashton Earl
The worst feeling in the entire world is when the night is ending and you don't want it to end. No, that happened to me Saturday night.
Unknown Friend
That's me every night.
Ashton Earl
And I felt it. I was like, I feel this night dying down and I'm so upset. And then when Alex and Kristen went home, I was like, stop, we can do this. Everyone say, yeah.
Unknown Friend
No. You convinced me and Sally to say though.
Ashton Earl
I know. We danced a little more. It was fun.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
Okay, so I want to tell you about the Leftovers. Cuz it's the best show I've ever seen currently. Sorry, it's not the best show I've ever seen, but like, it's amazing.
Unknown Friend
No, I need a new show.
Ashton Earl
Okay, so what is the Rapture? I keep burping into this mic. Can you hear it? Can you hear it? Can any of you guys hear it? I'm getting really insecure about it. You can hear it. Nolan, you are going to have to cut that out. I'm not kidding. Because I can hear it every time. Are you gonna be able to cut it out? I'm seriously gonna kill myself.
Unknown Friend
No, leave it in.
Ashton Earl
No, I. You can't know. It's like. It's like it actually happens once a minute. Like you.
Unknown Friend
What is it, like indigestion?
Ashton Earl
Yes, indigestion you need to throw up on. I would. I seriously would. So what is the Rapture again?
Unknown Friend
So when everybody goes to heaven and like, the people who didn't believe in Christianity.
Ashton Earl
Got it. Got it. Okay, so the Leftovers is basically like. Okay, so 160 million people disappear from like the. Have you ever seen Avengers Endgame?
Unknown Friend
No.
Ashton Earl
My God. Okay, you need to see Avengers Endgame. Have you? Okay, you guys are all. So basically 160 million people, like, disappear off the face of the earth. It's like if we were talking right now and like somebody just like. And you just like finish into thin air.
Unknown Friend
Oh, okay.
Ashton Earl
And I just burped again.
Unknown Friend
Cool.
Ashton Earl
And I'm literally. Don't know, do I take something for this? Like, nice. Okay, so it. 160 million people vanished into thin air.
Unknown Friend
Okay, cool.
Ashton Earl
And so it was like the end of the world. And it's basically about a town three years later, like, recovering from the Rapture. Okay, wait, the Leftovers is amazing. And I'm on. So there's only Three seasons. And I love a three seasoner. Like, I love a three seasoner. Like dark on Netflix, which is German. Also only three seasons. So I'm on season three, episode seven of the Leftovers. And like, I. I'm so excited to finish it tonight is all I'm trying to say.
Unknown Friend
Now I'm burping.
Ashton Earl
Well, don't worry, I can't hear it because everyone can hear mine. I think that's all I had to say about the leftovers. Okay, Ashton, what are you therapist about?
Unknown Friend
Way to put me on the spot.
Ashton Earl
I know I can tell you what I'm therapist about.
Unknown Friend
Yeah, please.
Ashton Earl
I have these pre made meals and I never eat them and I always end up ordering food. I always end up ordering because I've always got this weird craving for something.
Unknown Friend
What was it?
Ashton Earl
I was gonna have the chicken teriyaki over like a broccoli rice blend or something.
Unknown Friend
Sounds good.
Ashton Earl
And healthy. And I had chipotle.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
Disgusting. Hot honey chicken. It was so bad.
Unknown Friend
I don't know how to help you with this. This is like a you problem.
Ashton Earl
Well, that's the point of therapist. There's no helping involved.
Unknown Friend
Okay, cool.
Ashton Earl
I'm also pissed that I took a nap because I'm not gonna be able to sleep tonight.
Unknown Friend
Well, I'm pissed that I went to bed at 6:30am how are you alive? I don't know. I also was in the car for five hours today.
Ashton Earl
What'd you guys listen to on the way back?
Unknown Friend
We listened to the Marias. Did you see the Maria?
Ashton Earl
I saw the Marias.
Unknown Friend
She was incredible. Everything.
Ashton Earl
Their new song. What is it? Back to you.
Unknown Friend
Back. Back to me.
Ashton Earl
Back to me.
Unknown Friend
So good.
Ashton Earl
Amazing. I just thought she had great stage presence too, dude.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
Did you catch any of Clara?
Unknown Friend
No. I'm pissed, dude. Was she good?
Ashton Earl
I was smoking a cigarette and like, and it wasn't packed and I was just like vibing, vibing and roaming free. And like, it was perfect. But then we left a little early and I missed bags, which I'm super upset. I know. But I also just love Clara. You met her at that party.
Unknown Friend
You're like, I want to introduce you to Clara. I was like.
Ashton Earl
Because I was like, I know how much we both love her and she was right there. And like, she's just. She's so fudgeing awesome and like the nicest person ever. She's lovely and like her aura, like, you know when someone's aura is just like so cool.
Unknown Friend
She's so cool. School.
Ashton Earl
That's her.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
To me, so your therapist that you went to bed at 6:30 in the morning?
Unknown Friend
Yeah, I'm also therapist that I missed. Claro.
Ashton Earl
Yeah, therapist that I missed.
Unknown Friend
There's a few that I missed that I'm therapist about.
Ashton Earl
Who else did you miss?
Unknown Friend
Well, I missed Beltron and the Yuma.
Ashton Earl
You were really wanting to see Beltron?
Unknown Friend
I was really wanting to see, but then I met him at the aftermarket.
Ashton Earl
Oh, you did? I forgot. What, you ended up going up to him?
Unknown Friend
No, someone introduced me to him.
Ashton Earl
Was he nice?
Unknown Friend
Yeah, he has this like, really thick accent.
Ashton Earl
Did you see Disco Lines of set?
Unknown Friend
I. I caught like the last 20 minutes.
Ashton Earl
How was it?
Unknown Friend
It was fun. I put Sally on my shoulders.
Ashton Earl
Did you hear Baby girl?
Unknown Friend
No, I think I missed Baby girl. I honestly don't remember. My brain is shot.
Ashton Earl
But his set looked amazing. I was so sad that I missed it. I really wanted to go too.
Unknown Friend
I know. Were you YouTube? Yeah.
Ashton Earl
Which was great. But I missed disco lines. I'm really upset about it. I also kind of wanted to see the dare.
Unknown Friend
Yeah, me too. He has a new song that I really like.
Ashton Earl
What's it called?
Unknown Friend
Lca. It's like lights, camera, action. It's kind of. I feel like you'd like it.
Ashton Earl
Also, I would just like to say something I'm not therapist about and they're pleased about is that you brought me home. You said you're gonna bring me home. Your Dutch Bros, and you did. And there's still ice in it.
Unknown Friend
I know that's kind of crazy because we were two hours away when we.
Ashton Earl
Got that, and I was. I saw you guys at Dutch Bros, and I was like, holy, please get me something. And this is everything I could have wanted.
Unknown Friend
It's my first Dutch Bros. Do you like it? It's good, but I really don't like sweet drinks, so I could only have like, three sips.
Ashton Earl
Dutch Pros is very sweet. It is very, very, very sweet.
Unknown Friend
It's literally a milkshake.
Ashton Earl
You know, I've never been to your guys's place in New Jersey.
Unknown Friend
Rook.
Ashton Earl
Never.
Unknown Friend
It is the best coffee.
Ashton Earl
I've never been.
Unknown Friend
Can you just please come to New Jersey?
Ashton Earl
I. I've also never been to your house. Yeah, I need to come. I need to come and see everything and hang out with TJ and like, do the whole. To do.
Unknown Friend
What the heck, Noah Beck, you need to come.
Ashton Earl
I need to come. While you were gone, I decided that I think similar to you and your sister, I think I'm gonna start doing Day in the Lives.
Unknown Friend
Oh, my God.
Ashton Earl
You should do you think you would. You find them interesting?
Unknown Friend
I would love a day in my life from you.
Ashton Earl
Really?
Unknown Friend
Yes. What do you do on your average day?
Ashton Earl
Today was not an average day. Today I woke up, I worked out.
Unknown Friend
Okay, good.
Ashton Earl
You know what? I need to do a day in the Life.
Unknown Friend
You do.
Ashton Earl
I worked out, I got home, I got Erewhon for breakfast slash lunch. I had that. I watched, sat down, I watched the leftovers, I got an iv, fell asleep, woke up, watched more leftovers, got Chipotle, and I'm now doing this. That sounds lovely, but I think I was explaining to her my week, and I think I need to do a Day in the Life.
Unknown Friend
Yeah, you do. Honestly, I would love that. And honestly, it makes me feel, like, more interesting because I'm always like, oh, I'm just doing things. But then I'm like, wow, I did so much in one day. And then.
Ashton Earl
Right. And then people like, that's what I am thinking too. When she was just saying, like, you should do. When I was like, but I don't do anything. And then I started talking about my day, and I was like, even I'm interested in my own day. Like, maybe I should do this.
Unknown Friend
Maybe I am cool.
Ashton Earl
Like, I think. I think it would make me feel more confident because, like, I. If I have, like, a date, maybe I'll walk. Hey, this is, like, all goes back. I don't want someone to send me, the person I go on the date with, to be like, you're going on a date, and you just did it. You know what I mean?
Unknown Friend
Yeah, but you can just be like. Like, I've had that a few times where I'm just like, oh, I'm just going out to dinner. And then, like, maybe I'll get a clip of the food. But, like, if not, right, just xnay it.
Ashton Earl
Right. What else was I gonna say? There was something else I was gonna say, and now I forget.
Unknown Friend
Cool.
Ashton Earl
Okay. You ready for the tell me what's wrongs?
Unknown Friend
Sure.
Ashton Earl
I have this friend, and I told her last night that I really like this guy, but I was too nervous to make the first move. We both have classes with him, and I constantly think about how cute he is. Well, the other day, she texted me and was like, omg, he's so cute. I need to hop on that. Oh, I was so angry because she does this to a lot of guys that I or my friends like, and I don't know what to do about it. The Canon event.
Unknown Friend
The worst kind of friends.
Ashton Earl
Yeah. And it's also such A canon event.
Unknown Friend
It really is.
Ashton Earl
Like, it's just. But I feel like I've learned with age that that is all insecurity.
Unknown Friend
It is like, the girls are the people that, like, try to get everyone that you like. That's them just. Yeah.
Ashton Earl
Being insecure, it's like, in a similar. No, it's like, in a similar sense to how someone's, like, competitive about school or a job. It's just like, another sense of, like, competitiveness. And, like, when you're competitive, like, that's.
Unknown Friend
Not, like, a real friend.
Ashton Earl
It's not. I. I'm. I'm very competitive in a lot of senses. And, like, I. But I know that, like, a lot of it stemmed from my insecurities. Like, I wouldn't be so competitive in things if I wasn't so insecure is, like. I don't know. Is that. Is that a weird take? I feel like that's, like, a proper take.
Unknown Friend
No, that makes a lot of sense.
Ashton Earl
Because if I'm trying to beat someone, it's because I'm not secure. And, like, my. How I. What I'm doing.
Unknown Friend
You're, like, trying to prove it to yourself.
Ashton Earl
Right? You know what I mean?
Unknown Friend
Like, yeah.
Ashton Earl
So I feel like this girl is very insecure.
Unknown Friend
Yeah. It's hard, though, because I feel, like, very lucky to have such good friends in my life right now. But, yeah, like, I feel like that's just not a true friend. Like, if you really, like, cared about your friend, like, you wouldn't do that.
Ashton Earl
Maybe have a conversation with her.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
And, like, see what she has to say. But, like, once again, it's a canon event.
Unknown Friend
It's always worth a conversation, like, anything I prescribe.
Ashton Earl
Girls so Confusing Featuring Lord. Yeah, because, like, girl so confusing. You know what I mean?
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
Like, I think. I think that's, like, the perfect song.
Unknown Friend
For that because, like, it's, like, miscommunication and, like, it's.
Ashton Earl
It's. It's not like, I'm not, like, excusing this girl's actions because. But, like, if you view it from, like, a more empathetic standpoint, like, I think, like, sometimes your point gets across better as opposed to, like, an aggressive standpoint.
Unknown Friend
That is a nice approach.
Ashton Earl
I, Like, I don't ever take that approach, but, like, that's my advice.
Unknown Friend
That's really good advice.
Ashton Earl
No, I never take my own advice, but that is my advice. I like that I punched my best friend's cheating boyfriend in the face. She's so pissed. Even though I think I did the right thing, she Says it wasn't my place. Am I a bad person?
Unknown Friend
No, you're a great person.
Ashton Earl
Honestly, this sounds like something Alex would do.
Unknown Friend
Absolutely.
Ashton Earl
This sounds like something Alex would do. And like, for you, that is a. Yeah, for me.
Unknown Friend
She would totally do that for me. And she almost has. I had to like, pull her back one time.
Ashton Earl
Really?
Unknown Friend
Yeah. She almost threw a drink in someone's face and I was like, girl, don't.
Ashton Earl
I love when she does that though.
Unknown Friend
She's so funny.
Ashton Earl
Like, when she did that in Key west, my life was changed.
Unknown Friend
She's iconic.
Ashton Earl
Like my life was. She's iconic. My life was changed. I was like. And she. She's so funny. I don't know why she. She's like, I don't know why I make you laugh so hard. She makes me. Hoo ha. Like, because she's so.
Unknown Friend
I love how you say hoohah.
Ashton Earl
Will says it all the time. Because she's so casual about it. She's like, yeah, I did that.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
And I'm like, what?
Unknown Friend
She's insane.
Ashton Earl
Like, I'm like, what do you mean? No, but I don't think this person's a bad person at all. I think if my someone punched my cheating boyfriend, maybe I'd be upset in the moment because sometimes you're blinded by love. But like, that's a loyal friend.
Unknown Friend
That's a good friend and those are.
Ashton Earl
Hard to come by.
Unknown Friend
Yeah. And people do get blinded by their boyfriends even when they're cheating, which is horrible.
Ashton Earl
Have you ever been cheated on?
Unknown Friend
No, I don't think so. Not that I know of.
Ashton Earl
I've never been cheated on either because as we know, never had a boyfriend. I feel like I need a never had a boyfriend counter because I say it at least once an episode. But yeah, I've also never been cheated on. I don't know what I would prescribe for that. Maybe go watch Alex's content from when she dumped a drink on that guy in Key west because she didn't give a fuck.
Unknown Friend
She gaff.
Ashton Earl
And like, it was awesome. Yeah, I'm in a love triangle with my on and off again boyfriend and his friend of five years and his friend who I barely know but who wants me bad. I'm crashing out. I don't know if I can juggle this. I need a prescription bad.
Unknown Friend
Well, do you want the friend I giving you?
Ashton Earl
Do I think they're like indecisive about it. I feel like I would prescribe challengers. Oh, I've never seen challengers, but I know that that's what that entails.
Unknown Friend
You would like it.
Ashton Earl
Really?
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
Is it like a love triangle?
Unknown Friend
Yeah, they're just, like, all in love with each other.
Ashton Earl
I would also prescribe the Vampire Diaries.
Unknown Friend
I was going to say Vampire Diaries because, like, the brothers.
Ashton Earl
Yeah.
Unknown Friend
What's the other one? The Summer I Turn Pretty.
Ashton Earl
Yeah. I've never seen that either.
Unknown Friend
Really?
Ashton Earl
Yeah. Peyton and Julia are like that. I don't. They've never been so addicted to a show in there.
Unknown Friend
Honestly, I love it.
Ashton Earl
Really? Yeah. Do you watch Tell Me Lies, too?
Unknown Friend
Yes.
Ashton Earl
I love Tell Me Lies.
Unknown Friend
I love Tell Me Lies.
Ashton Earl
I need season three now. I. Is it so wrong that I think Stephen's the hottest person on God's green earth?
Unknown Friend
No. I do, too.
Ashton Earl
Like, everything about him is. Oh, my God. Like, I want to. I can't handle it.
Unknown Friend
I love a horrible man.
Ashton Earl
Me, more than anything in the world, actually.
Unknown Friend
Oh, my God.
Ashton Earl
More than anything in the world. I would prescribe. What is it? Was this the love triangle? Oh, yeah. I would prescribe. Challengers. The Vampire Diaries. The Samurai Turned Pretty. Anything with a love triangle involved the Hunger Games. Oh, Hunger Games. Twilight. And, like, relate to the protagonist of that movie and you'll feel like a bad.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
I'm talking to a guy from Norway while he is studying here in the US I fear I'm catching feelings, but he is leaving to go home soon. Is it stupid to keep talking to him?
Unknown Friend
Honestly, I feel like you should just keep talking until he leaves.
Ashton Earl
I agree.
Unknown Friend
Like, why not?
Ashton Earl
Also an excuse to visit Norway. That's awesome.
Unknown Friend
Yeah. My friend had an abroad boyfriend.
Ashton Earl
What was that like?
Unknown Friend
He was, like, way more in love with her than she was with him. So, like, she knew she was leaving and she was like, bye. But he was really distraught.
Ashton Earl
Where? What? In Florence?
Unknown Friend
In Copenhagen.
Ashton Earl
So he was German.
Unknown Friend
He was.
Ashton Earl
Denmark. Where the is Copenhagen?
Unknown Friend
I think he's.
Ashton Earl
He was Dutch. Danish.
Unknown Friend
I'm really stupid, so I really don't. He was.
Ashton Earl
I have a secret tattoo my parents don't know about. They're not against tattoos, but they'll judge me financially. Should I tell them or keep hiding it?
Unknown Friend
They'll judge you financially.
Ashton Earl
Who cares? As long as it was your money, who cares?
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
My parents judge me financially all the time.
Unknown Friend
Oh, really?
Ashton Earl
Do yours ever.
Unknown Friend
My mom did start sobbing, though, when I got a tattoo. What? Yeah.
Ashton Earl
When. How old were you?
Unknown Friend
I was 18 or 19.
Ashton Earl
And you should. Where. Where's your tattoo again?
Unknown Friend
This one.
Ashton Earl
Right, right, right, right.
Unknown Friend
Me and Catherine got matching tattoos and. Because we both just wanted it and I came home, and I wasn't gonna tell my mom. I was like, whatever. She'll see it when she sees it. I come home immediately. I see her, and I go. And she's like, what? And I'm like. I'm just, like, making a face. I'm like, nothing. Nothing's wrong. She's like, something's wrong. And she goes, what did you do? And I was like, nothing. She goes, you got a tattoo? And I go, how? She goes. I was like, how did you know? And she was like, did you actually. And I was like, yeah. And then she starts sobbing, and she was like, at least it's small enough you can get it lasered off one day. But now she's like, come around to it. And I also got another one. She's always like, you're never getting any more tattoos. And then I get them, and she's like, it's kind of cute.
Ashton Earl
Are so cool. I just don't think I could ever get one. I think.
Unknown Friend
I know.
Ashton Earl
I don't think it suits my, like, little leprechaun look.
Unknown Friend
I think also, you would crash out about it.
Ashton Earl
I would literally be like, try to rub it off my skin.
Unknown Friend
That's how Alex is, too. She would freak out.
Ashton Earl
She doesn't have a tattoo, right?
Unknown Friend
No, no, no. She does not want.
Ashton Earl
I once tricked my mom that I got a tattoo when I was in fourth grade.
Unknown Friend
Fourth grade.
Ashton Earl
And she hysterically sobbed, please don't say you have a tattoo. I was like, jesus Christ. But I get that. I was in fourth grade.
Unknown Friend
Wait. Yeah. That's crazy. How did you convince her that you got a tattoo?
Ashton Earl
I was like, a truth or dare from my neighbor. They're like, tell your mom. No, no, it wasn't a tattoo. It was my ears pierced. It was my ears pierced. And I said, I got my ears pierced. And she, like, was checking them and was like, oh, like, crying. I was like, whoa. Was it, like, that deep? Like, my ears pierced. Imagine me with my ears pierced, though. Like, there's just certain things I shouldn't do.
Unknown Friend
You'd be cute with your ears.
Ashton Earl
Girl. Girl. Oh. I would prescribe the song tattoo by Jordan Sparks, which I've done prior.
Unknown Friend
I don't know that song.
Ashton Earl
Do you know Jordan Sparks?
Unknown Friend
Yeah. Love.
Ashton Earl
Okay, great. He didn't know Jordan Sparks. Isn't that crazy?
Unknown Friend
That's embarrassing.
Ashton Earl
My boyfriend and I are going to college, seven hours away from each other. We've been dating for almost a year and a half. Oh, my God. This is perfect for you to give advice on And I just don't know if I should break up with him or try to make it work.
Unknown Friend
Okay. So when I was in high school, my boyfriend left for college and we. Well, I actually was such a loser. I was like, if you want to go have your college experience, like, go have fun. Like, I don't think that's such a.
Ashton Earl
Loser thing to say.
Unknown Friend
Yeah, it was kind of like we'd already been dating for like a year.
Ashton Earl
Wait, he was older than you? Yeah, got it. How much older?
Unknown Friend
A year.
Ashton Earl
Got it.
Unknown Friend
So I was like going into my senior year and he was going into his freshman year, but he was like, no, like, I want to make this work and all this stuff. So we did long distance, and I think it's. It's definitely hard. And I feel like a lot of people do break up, like the long distancers when they start college. But I think if you really, really, like, care about each other and like, you genuinely don't care about, like, other people, I think it's worth it, or at least worth trying.
Ashton Earl
I agree. I feel like from my personal experience of seeing people do this, like, I. I would break up and I just get to experience, like, I don't know, a little bit of college single.
Unknown Friend
I get it.
Ashton Earl
Without the tumultuous back and forth.
Unknown Friend
No, I get that. Because also now that I'm single in college, it's so much more fun.
Ashton Earl
Right.
Unknown Friend
But I was also, like, so in love that, like, I didn't care about anything else in the entire world.
Ashton Earl
Is that like a thing? Like, do you get, like, love blindness?
Unknown Friend
Oh, yes. Like, I am insane.
Ashton Earl
What does it feel like when you get love blindness?
Unknown Friend
I don't even know. Like you just don't care about anything else. Like, I didn't care about anything.
Ashton Earl
Really?
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
It's like a drug.
Unknown Friend
Yeah. It's insane.
Ashton Earl
I want to experience that.
Unknown Friend
I love being in love.
Ashton Earl
I want to know what it's like.
Unknown Friend
Okay, well, I'm manifesting it for you.
Ashton Earl
I'm manifesting it for me too.
Unknown Friend
I want to see Jake in love.
Ashton Earl
Me too. Oh, Jill. Jake in love. I would prescribe the song to the damn Season by Taylor Swift. Have you ever heard that song? Oh, it's about high school sweethearts that come back together. Do you know that song? It's literally the best song ever. It's one of my all time favorite Taylor Swift songs. It's about high school lovers that come back to their town during winter break and like, rekindle.
Unknown Friend
Oh, that's cute.
Ashton Earl
Just like, listen to that love you can't relate to tis the damn season if you don't break up. Me and my roommate are friends with these two people who are in a situationship for the third time in a year. They end things and always get back together. And sometimes we feel like we are doing them a disservice when they ask us about the other and we have to be supportive. I was always taught to not get involved in other people's relationships.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
So like.
Unknown Friend
Yeah, I feel like it's hard as much as, like, you want to help people and like, give them advice. In a relationship, people are only going to listen to what they want to hear.
Ashton Earl
100 love blindness.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
And this person seems like they are. Yeah. Deep in that.
Unknown Friend
Yeah. They kind of just have to like, figure it out on their own. Which sucks.
Ashton Earl
But maybe I would prescribe. What?
Unknown Friend
Normal people.
Ashton Earl
No, seriously, prescribe normal people. I love that show. That show ruined me. Have you ever seen the show One Day?
Unknown Friend
No.
Ashton Earl
Before you watch Leftovers, you have to watch One Day. Have you seen One Day? That show wrecked my life. So it's basically about these two people and it's 10 episodes. Each episode is the same day, a year apart for 10 years.
Unknown Friend
Oh, okay.
Ashton Earl
So it's like if we had a show and it was today and then a year later on the same exact day, the next episode would be that.
Unknown Friend
Oh, okay.
Ashton Earl
So like, so much changes in between each episode.
Unknown Friend
Oh, wait, that's kind of fun.
Ashton Earl
It's their love story. It's really moving.
Unknown Friend
Wow.
Ashton Earl
Did you hear that burp?
Unknown Friend
I heard that one.
Ashton Earl
I'm gonna kill myself. What do I do? Okay, it's not.
Unknown Friend
It's great for the listeners. It's asmr.
Ashton Earl
Our friend thinks she's in love with this absolutely horrible human being. She literally thinks that she found the one. How do we tell her that she deserves better without us seeming like the bad guys? Help us.
Unknown Friend
Okay. Tell me lies.
Ashton Earl
Tell me lies. Yeah, Yeah, I think tell me lies too. You tell you. I would say you put it out there and if they don't listen to you, then you've done your service as a friend.
Unknown Friend
You can do the best you can.
Ashton Earl
But you can't save someone for themselves. You really can't. If someone's. And speaking of myself too, like, if someone sets their eyes on something, like, and they want it, like, that's it.
Unknown Friend
Yeah. They're not gonna give up until they.
Ashton Earl
They not. They're not.
Unknown Friend
They learn themselves.
Ashton Earl
Ashton, that was the last time you. What's wrong?
Unknown Friend
Wow.
Ashton Earl
I know. Look at Us. What did we learn today?
Unknown Friend
What did we learn today? I learned it's blank up here.
Ashton Earl
It's really. It's bleak today.
Unknown Friend
Yeah.
Ashton Earl
I've learned that it's the Monday after Coachella.
Unknown Friend
Mm.
Ashton Earl
And we were still able to do this.
Unknown Friend
I know. I'm proud of us.
Ashton Earl
I'm proud of us too. I've learned that maybe we're moving to London together.
Unknown Friend
Right.
Ashton Earl
I've learned that maybe we're moving to London together. I've learned that I'm. Well, I. I've known this. That I'm very excited for your post grad journey and that I think you should go on a Europe trip with your friends.
Unknown Friend
Oh, I definitely will. And I'll vlog it.
Ashton Earl
Oh.
Unknown Friend
I've learned that you're gonna start doing Day in my Life.
Ashton Earl
Oh, yes, I am gonna start doing Day in my Life. I have to.
Unknown Friend
You have to.
Ashton Earl
Okay. But should I do it like you or should I do it like. Like, should I do the voiceover or should I just do that? I think I should do the voiceover.
Unknown Friend
Yeah. I feel like. Do you like doing voiceovers?
Ashton Earl
I think my voiceover would be kind of funny.
Unknown Friend
Yeah, I would. Me, though. I honestly started doing them like yours are.
Ashton Earl
You've paved the way.
Unknown Friend
I started doing them like that because I got too lazy to voice over them there.
Ashton Earl
I love your. I love your day in my life. I love how you do them.
Unknown Friend
Thank you. It's really just because I'm lazy.
Ashton Earl
I know. And I think that's what makes them better.
Unknown Friend
Thanks.
Ashton Earl
Okay. Ashton. Well, I love you so much.
Unknown Friend
I love you so much. Thank you so much for having me.
Ashton Earl
Thanks for coming on. It's been a long time coming.
Unknown Friend
I know. I've been waiting for this.
Ashton Earl
Well, we're gonna do it again.
Unknown Friend
Okay.
Ashton Earl
And again and again.
Unknown Friend
Cool.
Ashton Earl
I love you.
Unknown Friend
I love you too.
Ashton Earl
Okay. Say bye.
Unknown Friend
Bye. I'm like, what? Camera.
Ashton Earl
Camera.
Unknown Friend
Bye. I'm like, bye.
Ashton Earl
Love you.
Unknown Friend
Love you.
