Hi, welcome back to Therapists. I'm finally home in Los Angeles. I'm so, I feel so grateful that I'm home. I've missed my bed so much and I have a new blanket to sleep with. I don't know if this isn't sponsored, but Lola Blankets sent me like these blankets and they are actually like, this actually is. And I just obsessed with them. They're the softest blankets I've ever slept with in my entire life. Or I napped with one yesterday and it like actually changed my life. I really am excited to just sleep and relax. But we just did Radio City, which was like that little actual craziest thing of my entire life. I still like, haven't really. I like think I processed it in the moment. And then the other yesterday was like, oh, no. That was really, really, really cool. I think I was just so stressed out that day that like, I couldn't even like understand what was happening. Like, but then yesterday I was like, okay, no, that was awesome. And it's all because of you guys. So thank you so much. And we only have five more shows of this tour, which is insane and I finish it up next week. But tonight on Therapist we have Wallows. It's the first time we ever had three people in the room before to do it. Dylan, Brayden and Cole are awesome. We had such a good time. It was so fun. They just finished their Model and More tour if you got a chance to see them. If not, they are also performing at Lollapalooz and with My Chemical Romance at Dodger Stadium July 26th and 27th. I, if I'm here, will definitely be at their show at Dodger Stadium because that sounds awesome and I feel like we're friends after this. Like, they're really the best. Like, I'm really excited for you guys. See the episode. They're so awesome. Also, their EP More is out now. If you haven't heard it yet, it's amazing. You should listen to it. There's so many, so much good music out now. The new Lord albums out, which is seriously incredible. Like, I so like, I can't even really get into it because, like, I know, like, we are so lucky to have Lorde in the sense that, like, she. Like, that album is going to be a manifesto for people in their 20s. Like, if you don't get it now, you will get it. Like, I don't know how to explain it to you. Like. And, like, if you want to argue with me about it, just save your breath because I don't care. It really is so, so incredible. I'm obsessed with it, and lord is amaz. I'm just. I can't. I still can't believe she was, like, in this room and we spoke and she was on the show, which is insane. To see if I'm coming to a city near you. Go to passthatpost.com and click Live with Jake Shane. And to submit a tell me what's wrong. Go to passthatpost.com and click Tell me what's wrong. And leave a name and number if you're feeling fancy. Enjoy tonight's episode. Love you, pussies. Hi, pussies. Welcome back to therapists. Today we have on wallows. Hey, guys.
Dylan
How are.
Shane
Oh, my God, you guys. I don't know why you made me so nervous, but we've never had three people, let alone known three guys in the room before.
Jake
We are the mailman.
Shane
You are the mailman. And congrats on a billion streams, by the way of. Are we bored yet?
Dylan
Thank you so much.
Shane
Yep.
Dylan
I appreciate it.
Shane
Yeah, no, that's amazing. Why did that. When did that song really take off? When you released it or what was a vibe?
Jake
I mean, not really. I mean, yes and no. I think it kind of got. It kind of. Kind of had its moment during 2020, actually, which is interesting. 100, so. Yeah.
Shane
And what'd you guys release it?
Jake
2019.
Dylan
2019. It was. It took a while. Like, I feel like it took maybe like a year and a half for it to really take off. Like, at the time, it was doing well for us by our standards at the time. But then it took on a new Standard In. In 2020.
Shane
Was Claro on the original or was she on the remix?
Jake
Original. OG huh?
Dylan
Yeah.
Jake
Yeah.
Shane
Wow. I love Claro.
Dylan
Have you talked to her before?
Shane
Yeah, I love her.
Dylan
Okay, There you go.
Shane
Yeah. What you guys up to?
Dylan
We are.
Shane
I know how to start. Like, I've never had three people on before.
Jake
Well, what are we up to?
Dylan
Three times the fun three times.
Jake
Yeah, I mean, I. What have we. What have we been up to, boys? We've been touring, tour, and we just.
Dylan
Got back from Mexico.
Shane
How was good?
Dylan
It was exhausting, though. Like, Mexico's incredible. We love being there. But we were like. We had a couple days in Mexico City first with, like, press and stuff, but then we. We'd play a show and the show late, wake up at, like, five in the morning, go to the airport, fly to the new city, play, repeat. So it's just like. We didn't really sleep at all. So I feel like I've been catching up on sleep since I've been back here.
Shane
I got it, got it, got it.
Dylan
By the time this airs, I'll be very well rested, I'm sure, at that point. But right now I'm like, I've been sleeping long since I've been back.
Shane
What's the longest you've ever slept?
Jake
Dylan sleeps long and hard.
Dylan
For sure, coming from you.
Jake
No, that was.
Dylan
You're being sarcastic.
Jake
I was being sarcastic. Oh, yeah.
Shane
How long have you. So as long as you slept for.
Jake
One of the hardest you've slept for.
Shane
I bet you I got you beat.
Jake
What's up?
Shane
I bet you I got you beat. Okay.
Jake
I've probably slept the longest for about maybe like a good. Like a good, like, 12 hours more.
Dylan
Dude, I think you've done more. You've done more.
Jake
Oh, probably like, maybe like 15.
Shane
Okay. I did 19 the other day.
Jake
Holy.
Brayden
The other day.
Dylan
I've never.
Shane
You want to know why? I got an IV. I get IVs once a week, and I got. I got an IV with Benadryl in it.
Jake
Did you see the Benadryl man?
Shane
No, but it was like anesthesia. Oh, that's not how you pronounce. It was. I got Benadryl in it. And then my vision started getting fuzzy. This was about. Let's call it 11. So at 12, I fell asleep until 8pm and then at 8pm I woke up. I was like. And then I ate for, like, 20 minutes and went back to bed and woke up the next morning. And then my mattress tracks how long I sleep for. So 19.
Dylan
Whoa.
Jake
Wow.
Brayden
Oh, my God.
Dylan
Wow.
Shane
Yeah.
Brayden
Did you feel incredible after?
Shane
No, I was like, oh, my God. I just skipped a day.
Dylan
She is a penitential and an IV straight to the bloodstream.
Jake
Yeah, I mean, that sounds. I mean, I. I do enjoy Benadryl, actually.
Shane
Same. I've been taking it since I was 12.
Jake
It's one of those weird, like, fun things, you know?
Shane
You know when you, like, try to stay awake on it a little bit.
Jake
And you're like, yeah, the Benadryl man. You know about the Benadryl man, right?
Shane
No, I don't want to Know about that?
Jake
It's a real thing.
Shane
What is that, like, Slender Man?
Jake
Yeah, if you take too much Benadryl, you see the Benadryl man. Miss. Miss Auntie Stisha.
Dylan
What is.
Jake
She comes to get you? It's so if you take, like, five, six. Don't do it. No one do it. Actually, I've never done it. It's like an urban legend. It's like the spaghetti man. Or the funny spaghetti man.
Dylan
Wait, and who's that? Okay, you have to tell us about the Benadryl man and now the spaghetti man.
Jake
So. Yeah, too much spaghetti. You see spaghetti if he takes too much Benadryl, apparently. You see the Benadryl man, he's like this figure that, like, shows up and it's really scary. And then the spaghetti man is. Isn't it? That isn't like an urban legend thing?
Brayden
The flying spaghetti monster?
Jake
Yeah, that one. The flying spaghetti.
Brayden
Is that what you.
Jake
It's like. It's like old school. It's like old school. Computer logic. Dumb.
Shane
How old are you guys?
Jake
15.
Shane
Okay. Yeah.
Jake
How old are you? Before I answer, guess. I feel like you could be anywhere from, like, 19 to 28.
Shane
Hey, so pick an age.
Jake
Okay. No, I probably say you're, like 23. 21.
Shane
25.
Jake
How old do you think we are?
Shane
Okay.
Brayden
I'm actually really curious.
Shane
Okay. I think you are 27.
Brayden
Okay, should I reveal or should I wait?
Shane
Not yet.
Brayden
Okay.
Shane
I think you are also 27. And I think you're also 27. I think you're all 27.
Jake
So you think we're the 27 Club.
Shane
Hey. Hey.
Dylan
Lucky for you, we made it past. We made it past 27. 27.
Shane
How old are you guys?
Dylan
Cole and I are both 28.
Brayden
Eight.
Jake
I'm 29.
Shane
Wow.
Jake
Yeah.
Shane
Almost 30, huh?
Jake
I was. I was this guy's age right here. Put the camera on him when. When. When we released our first song. He said he listened to it and he's 21 now. And it's just weird. I was 21 when we put out our first song, so I don't know where time goes. I think they're still trying to figure it out.
Shane
Oh, yeah. Wait, so how did you guys meet?
Dylan
Braden and I met when we were. When I was 9. Our moms met on an online chat forum for, like, kind of like parents. Stage parents, essentially. Like parents who are bringing their kids to L. A for acting. Because Braden and I started acting very young. And originally I was going to stay with Braden for my first year here. I was going to live with his family. And that didn't end up happening, but we still, like, met. We met at a Cheesecake Factory.
Shane
I love Cheesecake Factory.
Dylan
Oh, man. I'll always love Cheesecake Factory.
Shane
You got the chicken Marsala.
Dylan
We actually both got the chicken tenders.
Shane
Oh, okay.
Dylan
At the time.
Shane
At the time.
Dylan
With the honey mustard. Insane.
Shane
You ever go to a friendlies?
Jake
Don't know what that is.
Dylan
That's sort of friendly.
Shane
That's fine. That's fine. Where's Friendly Coast Vibes?
Dylan
See, that's. I've heard of it.
Shane
Yeah.
Dylan
You like friendlies?
Shane
I love friendly.
Dylan
You're from the East Coast?
Shane
Where are you from?
Dylan
The Midwest. And so is Brayton, Indiana.
Shane
Chicago. Oh, oh, Indiana. Okay. Where are you from? Yeah.
Brayden
Van Nuys, California.
Shane
Oh, yeah. Okay, I got that.
Jake
La.
Dylan
It's giving.
Shane
Yeah, it's giving. It's giving. It's giving. California.
Dylan
I'm from New York.
Jake
I'm from Ohio. Yeah. Warren, Ohio.
Shane
Oh, Ohio.
Jake
Yeah. Yeah.
Shane
I love Ohio.
Jake
Do you really?
Shane
Yep.
Jake
Interesting.
Shane
Yeah, I. We.
Jake
No, I do, too.
Shane
We had a show in Ohio. We did a show in Ohio, and it was a vibe.
Jake
So what exactly is a show for you?
Shane
People always ask that. And how do you prep for it?
Jake
Like, what goes into a show for you? It's like. It's like a.
Shane
So it's like I get up there. I actually, like, love to have you guys if you're around, ever.
Brayden
Yes.
Shane
Okay. And so basically, I get up there, and without giving too much away, I basically talk about, like, my life. It's like I do a little, like, presentation in the back. I show a few videos, then I do the Tell me what's Wrongs, and then I. I perform my comedy album.
Dylan
Okay, awesome. That sounds great. I would love to attend a show.
Jake
Yeah, I don't want to attend a show in Ohio specifically.
Shane
Oh, what's electric?
Jake
First we go.
Shane
You remember where in Ohio it was Ohio State.
Dylan
Okay.
Shane
Oh, yeah.
Dylan
College crowd.
Shane
Yeah, it was a college crowd, which are always the best. And we. Have you ever been to Ohio State? Any of you? We.
Brayden
We, like, had our tour bus parked there once.
Dylan
Yeah.
Brayden
And it was game day.
Jake
Someone got their head kicked into our van or. Yeah, just, like, some gnarly fight. And he was all right in the.
Dylan
End, but it was a while that we were parked in the middle of, like, a huge game. Clearly was. And it was. We were playing a show there that night, and it was just chaos surrounding the bus. Yeah, there's a lot of chaos.
Shane
Did you spend the night? Wait, so do you Guys, like, all sleep in the bunks on the bus.
Dylan
Yeah.
Shane
Still.
Dylan
Yeah. Unless it's an off day. We have, like, a hotel.
Shane
Like, do you, like, like it? I love the bus.
Dylan
Love the bus.
Jake
You have a bus, too? Bus rules.
Shane
Bus rules.
Jake
Rules.
Dylan
This is, like, our last. We're about to go on a. A run starting next week, and it's kind of our last us bus run for, like, a long time.
Jake
Yeah. I think I like the embrace it to sleep, you know?
Shane
Are you sad about it?
Dylan
I'm just gonna soak it in. You know, I'm like, I'm gonna take it in. I want to enjoy it, because if we're not on the bus for, like, a couple years or something, you got. You know, we'll have fond memories of it. So I want to, like, make sure I'm enjoying it while I'm there.
Shane
What's your favorite memory together? Each one.
Dylan
You go, who in life? We've been playing together since we were 12.
Shane
Yeah. So you have to go one by one and tell me your favorite memory.
Jake
Oh, my God.
Dylan
What comes to mind first?
Jake
Okay, the. Well, the first thing that comes to mind for me is something that hasn't come to mind yet. Cool. Cool.
Dylan
That's a. It's a really.
Shane
You guys have so many memories.
Jake
I'm thinking of so many things.
Dylan
Lots of memories. I don't know why. One of the first things that comes to mind is we attended Lollapalooza together in Chicago when we were, like, 16. Just there because Braden was there shooting a show at the time, like a. Like a TV show. And we came to visit and going there for some reason, that's one of the first things comes to mind. We were like.
Jake
And.
Dylan
And having this sort of pipe dream of, like, playing it one day. Right. And now we're about to do it for our third time. But that's not even trying to get, like, sentimental at all. But I just remember sentimental. Let me shed a tear. But it was, like, a fond memory. I feel like it's one of the things that comes to mind for some reason. We also played a show. We were there because we played a show at the House of Blues.
Shane
I've been to a show at the House of Blues in.
Dylan
In Chicago.
Shane
Yeah. Yeah. Great.
Dylan
Classic House of Blues.
Shane
Yeah.
Dylan
And I don't know why that came to mind. There's, like, a million good memories, but.
Jake
Yeah.
Dylan
Do you have any that come to mind immediately?
Brayden
Do you remember this?
Jake
Just.
Brayden
This came. This came to my mind. Do you remember? We. We, like, I think we Were at your house and we got caught trying to smoke weed in. In a car. Do you remember that?
Jake
I do remember that. Yeah. We had parked outside a policeman's house. Yeah.
Shane
How old were you guys? Yeah.
Brayden
And then, like, I think your mom found out.
Jake
Yeah.
Brayden
And then, like, brought us inside. I remember. Gave us, like, a stern talking to.
Dylan
You in your living room.
Jake
Yeah, I remember that. Yeah.
Dylan
She was pretty chill about it. We just, like, played rock band or something after.
Jake
Yeah.
Dylan
Yeah.
Brayden
Oh, speaking of, remember we beat. We stayed up all night playing Beatles.
Dylan
Rock Band. Yep.
Jake
I remember that one, too.
Dylan
It might have been that same night, I feel.
Brayden
Might have been the same night.
Shane
You guys are like, best friends, huh?
Dylan
It's been a long time, man.
Jake
It's been a long time.
Shane
What show were you shooting in Chicago at the time?
Jake
It was a ABC show called Betrayal. It's probably something you've never heard of.
Shane
I like abc. What other shows have you been in?
Jake
So it's in 13 reasons why I'm Sick.
Shane
I fucking love that show, by the way. I wasn't going to bring it up, but, like, I have to now. I took my act, first of all. Show start to fucking finish. Don't play with me. And I took my act, and it came out that day. I'm sick. It's the greatest show of all time.
Dylan
Wow. Wow.
Jake
It was really fun filming that up in the Bay Area. It was in Prisoners. Goosebumps. It was a movie.
Shane
Prisoner.
Jake
Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Shane
It's literally one of my favorite movies of all time.
Jake
Amazing.
Shane
Hey, you.
Dylan
And I was in Stepfather. Yes, we're swapping.
Jake
Yeah. I wasn't in third. Dylan was in 13 Reasons why.
Shane
You embarrassed me because I was like, why don't I remember him in 13 reasons why? Reasons why? Because I'm telling you, I saw it start to finish.
Jake
I'm not gonna lie. There was a time I almost got a role in 13 Reasons why. I don't remember that.
Dylan
Wow.
Jake
Yeah.
Dylan
Life would be crazy.
Jake
It would be so weird. I was almost in. In the show with him in the second seasons.
Dylan
Why? We're in a band together. That'd be a crazy.
Jake
That'd be the 14th reason for sure.
Shane
What. What role were you supposed to play in season two?
Jake
Some goth kid. I actually didn't see season two. Man.
Dylan
I don't care.
Jake
Yeah. Who was the goth dude? There's like a pumpkin.
Shane
Sorry.
Jake
There was a punk. There's like a. There's like a pumpkin in the show. Yeah. I don't know. It's just something I auditioned for. And, you know, it's. It was. It went. It went kind of interesting, but I'm glad that didn't happen.
Shane
You never saw season two?
Jake
No.
Dylan
Do you see season two?
Shane
I saw season one, two, three, and four. Oh, that is my favorite show of all time. Like, I don't know how to make it any more clear.
Jake
Like, really?
Dylan
That's awesome. That's really sweet.
Shane
Yeah.
Dylan
You might be the only person to say that.
Shane
Okay, well, I will stand. Like, seriously? I watch it during COVID Well, so, okay, so I watched season one, and then during COVID I was like, damn. Like, how come I never finished 13 reasons why? And then my friend was like, you have to finish 13 Reasons why. I'm in hysterics. And I was like, okay.
Dylan
Wow.
Jake
There you go. I got to pick it back up.
Dylan
It's a lot to.
Jake
Pick it back up.
Shane
Did you have. Did you have fun shooting it?
Dylan
Yeah, I mean, I was. It was a lot. It was a lot of, like, emotions, you know, all the time, a lot of hours. But I think, like, I. Like, when I look back on it, I have nothing. Like, I feel like I. It's a very heartwarming feeling when I look back on it. Especially, like, that first season. That was maybe, like, the most fulfilling or definitely, I think, the most fulfilling experience I ever had shooting anything, really. Yeah, it was, like, very special and the longest amount of time I spent with a character and definitely very thankful for it, for sure.
Shane
Back to you is my favorite song of all time, so.
Dylan
Oh, wow.
Shane
Yeah.
Dylan
You're really embedded in it.
Shane
I am the 14th reason.
Dylan
Okay.
Shane
Like, I don't know how to make it more clear.
Dylan
I like.
Jake
It's fun.
Shane
Anywho, back to you guys. So you never said your favorite memory.
Jake
Oh, yeah. First thing, I think. First thing I thought of this kind of two for each of them. Like, one is Dylan, and I used to make this character called I like Juice when we were a kid.
Dylan
Juice guy.
Shane
The Juice guy is like, the Benadryl man, basically.
Jake
It's. I don't know if I could do the voice on this show, but why?
Dylan
Oh.
Jake
I don't know if I could do the voice.
Dylan
That's up to you.
Jake
It's a gnarly voice. I'm thinking of a lot of things that, like, Cole's made me, like, laugh doing.
Shane
Wait, was Cole not involved with the Juice Man?
Jake
I don't think Cole's involved with the Juice Man.
Dylan
We shot these, like, does that hurt.
Shane
Your feelings that he just. When I said, what's your favorite Memory. And he brought up something without.
Brayden
You brought us something before. Before my time.
Dylan
No, I think you were involved in one.
Brayden
I was late to the Juice guy.
Jake
Yeah. Late to the Juice, man. I'm also. I remember the first time we played a song together. Like. Like an original song together.
Dylan
Wow. Which was I wasn't There. Oh, no, no, no. An original song together.
Jake
Like, we did Sweet Talking Love.
Dylan
Oh, yeah. I wasn't there.
Jake
You weren't there for that.
Dylan
Remember?
Brayden
Are you talking about Join the Band?
Jake
No, just when we, like, decided for you to join the actual band.
Shane
Oh, you guys had to decide? You guys did that?
Jake
Well, it was pretty obvious.
Dylan
Like, idea of, like, starting. There's this thing called Join the Band, and it was in the Valley, and I had a friend who. It was, like, a thing where kids will sign up and they'll rehearse for four to six weeks, three covers, and then end up playing it at, like, all the bands come together, play, like, this. This gig at a venue, and they play their covers and, like, School of Rock. Yes.
Shane
Okay.
Dylan
Yes. And I had a friend that signed up for it. And then I was like, that sounds fun. I want to do that. And I was told Braden, because I knew him. I was like, you should do this. We can, like, play together this thing. And then we got there, and Cole was the drummer in our assigned band. And then by the end of it, we're like, this guy's really good. We should. Wants to be in a real band with us one day. And. And they did. But see, the three of us played together in that. And then Braden's dad started a similar thing, and we start. We played in that together without Cole for some reason. And then we were going to do a second one that Cole joined. Oh, no, no. You guys did join the band again.
Jake
We did. Without you.
Dylan
Okay, I'm forgetting now. Yeah, without me, because I was. I was. I don't know what I was doing. Goosebumps or something. Yeah.
Brayden
Did you like.
Jake
No, I think it was. Maybe it was that. I don't know.
Brayden
There was something. There was some filming because you had to go to Hawaii or something crazy.
Dylan
Oh, was it, like, Lost?
Jake
Yeah.
Shane
Wow.
Dylan
Long time ago.
Shane
You weren't Lost.
Dylan
Yeah. Wow. It's been a long time.
Shane
You were also in.
Dylan
I've been acting like, 20 years.
Shane
Yeah. Were you in, like, an SVU episode or something? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I love SVU that.
Dylan
Were you in an sv?
Jake
I was an svu.
Shane
What was your. What happened to your character?
Jake
Unspeakable Things by the guy who voiced Nemo in Finding Nemo.
Shane
Oh, okay.
Brayden
I didn't know that.
Jake
Yeah, so we'll keep that on. We'll keep that in the ocean. Yeah, it's really funny, actually.
Dylan
And I did unspeakable things with the teacher.
Jake
Jesus.
Shane
You did? Oh, that was fucked up.
Jake
You remember for my audition, I had to cry in my audition, and I remember listening to Blackbird by the Beatles to cry when I was, like, 10, I was like, can you guys cry in command?
Dylan
No.
Jake
To be honest, I don't understand, like, what tears.
Shane
Even Blackbird singing in the Dead.
Jake
I could probably cry on command if I really commanded myself to cry, you know? But no, we all have so many memories together, it's hard to pick. I'm like. My mind is blanking on all memories.
Dylan
We've acted together before, the three of us.
Shane
In what?
Jake
So. Oh, that's funny.
Dylan
Brad was on a show at the time. He played Ray Romano's son on, like, a show full time. It's called Men of a Certain Age.
Shane
I remember that show.
Jake
I do. Yeah.
Dylan
I've seen all of it.
Shane
Well, I have. Yes.
Jake
There you go.
Dylan
They had wrote in, like, a band for his character, and then they casted me as a bandmate of his and then Cole as well. So we were all played. We were all, like, acted together on that show.
Jake
Yeah, it was really funny.
Dylan
It was funny. It was a good time. We were, like, 15.
Shane
You act, too.
Brayden
That was my. My debut and my finale.
Shane
Oh, okay. Okay. Okay. Are you guys having fun?
Jake
I'm actually.
Shane
I'm having a really good time. I can't lie.
Dylan
Okay, good.
Shane
Well, I don't. I mean, I would lie even if I was having fun, but I am having the best time.
Dylan
I've done a lot of these, so I'm sitting here hoping you're enjoying it.
Shane
I'm. Are you?
Jake
Yeah. I'm laughing really hard. Oh, good. Okay, good. We, like, really good.
Shane
You guys got me, like, out of my shell a little bit.
Jake
Good.
Dylan
We got to keep cracking you.
Shane
I know.
Jake
We'll keep cracking.
Shane
I'm almost all out.
Jake
Let's keep cracking it.
Dylan
How do I get into Puss University? I've been looking.
Shane
Oh, you just apply. Have you seen the movie Acceptance or Accepted?
Brayden
I love. I love that movie.
Jake
Best movies of all time.
Shane
Yeah. It really is, huh?
Jake
It literally.
Shane
It really is. Yeah. So that's, like what Pussy University is. You just need to apply.
Dylan
Okay, great. I'm looking at it.
Shane
You're in. Congrats.
Dylan
Wow.
Brayden
Is it South Harmon?
Jake
South Harmonology.
Shane
What was It. Yeah.
Jake
Justin Long might be my favorite actor of all time. Just gonna say no.
Shane
Where is he?
Dylan
He's in Barbarian.
Brayden
Barbarian.
Dylan
Barbarian.
Shane
Barbarian was great, huh?
Dylan
I mean, the trailer for his new movie, Weapons. Have you seen that?
Jake
Looks so good.
Dylan
Looks amazing.
Shane
Yes.
Dylan
Second film.
Shane
What weapon is that? The one where everyone goes missing.
Dylan
Yeah.
Jake
Correct.
Dylan
Kids in the classroom. Yes, it looks amazing.
Shane
Wow, look at me. Like, anticipated. I'm kind of.
Jake
You know a lot about pop culture.
Shane
No, I. I'm knowing. Weapon looks amazing. Weapons looks amazing. What actress is in that?
Dylan
Julia Garner.
Jake
Yeah.
Shane
Yes.
Jake
From Ozark.
Dylan
Yeah. Yeah.
Shane
No, I've never seen Ozark.
Jake
I've never seen Ozark either.
Shane
What are you guys watching right now?
Dylan
The rehearsal.
Jake
Yeah, the rehearsal. The last of us. And I started and stopped watching Baby Girl.
Dylan
Nice.
Jake
That's classic. I don't know. I was just kind of halfway through, I was like, why am I watching this? But, like, not for any reason. I just was like, I have a very short attention span when it comes to things like that. So I was like, oh, I'm just gonna watch something else, I guess.
Shane
Are you all watching Last of Us?
Dylan
Yes. I watched the first. I'm too behind.
Brayden
I haven't started. I played the games.
Shane
Okay, so, like.
Brayden
But So I kind of know you.
Shane
Like, know what's going on.
Dylan
Cole knows.
Brayden
I know. I know what's going on.
Shane
No, but, like, you know, like. Like the big spoiler of the season.
Jake
Oh, yeah.
Shane
Okay. So that was. You haven't seen.
Jake
Okay, yeah.
Shane
Okay. So I was at dinner at Din Tai Fung with my best friend Brett, and she doesn't even watch the show, and she thought I had seen that episode. And she goes, can you believe. Did you hear.
Brayden
Did you hear that?
Dylan
Like, I can't believe it now.
Shane
Yeah. And I was like, damn. I was so upset that I told my waitress. I was like, do you watch the Last of Us? And she was like, yes. And I was like, I literally just got the episode spoiled for me.
Dylan
Damn, that's unfortunate.
Shane
I know.
Dylan
That happens.
Shane
I know. I can't believe you were in laws. You were in everything. Do you still want to act?
Dylan
Yeah. Yeah, I do. I think. I feel like I've. There's a weird, like, narrative that's gone around that I quit acting, but I never felt that or said that. I feel like I have, like, a desire to do it again in some regard, and if the right thing comes along, then the right thing comes along.
Shane
When's the last time you acted?
Dylan
2021. I was on a thing. Hulu thing. Called the Dropout with. It was about Elizabeth long ago.
Shane
I've seen the Dropout.
Dylan
Yeah, that was last.
Shane
Yeah. When she dances to how to Love.
Dylan
You see everything.
Shane
Yeah, I really have seen everything. Damn. I need to get a life.
Jake
No, everything.
Dylan
I like. I like that you're, like. You're up to date on things.
Shane
Yeah.
Dylan
I wish I could be more tapped in.
Shane
No, that's okay. You're, like, tapped in enough.
Jake
You seem pretty tapped to pop culture, right?
Shane
I know. I'm very tapped. Have you guys ever seen Glee?
Brayden
No.
Jake
I've only seen one or two clips. Maybe I've seen parts.
Dylan
I've seen parts.
Jake
I've seen the first episode.
Dylan
Yeah. Is that your favorite of all time?
Shane
I don't know how to describe Glee to you guys without, like, crying right now. Like, that is seriously the greatest show of all time. Besides 13 reasons why I was about.
Jake
Okay.
Dylan
I was about to fact check you out.
Shane
Glee. You know what we're gonna do? Us four?
Jake
What?
Shane
We're gonna sit at either my house or one of your houses, and we're gonna watch Glee.
Dylan
I. I'm down.
Brayden
Cool.
Jake
I'm kind of down. I'm kind of down.
Dylan
Would you start us at the beginning or would you show a certain episode?
Shane
Unfortunately, like, unfortunately, I do have to show you from the beginning.
Dylan
Okay, that makes sense.
Shane
But you will get locked in.
Dylan
Okay. I'm sure.
Shane
Like, nothing but great things. It's like, it is the greatest show of all time. Like, I don't know how to describe it.
Jake
American Horror Story, dude, right? American.
Shane
Ryan Murphy. Ryan Murphy, Yes. I was like, Evan Peters. Legend. Not in Glee.
Jake
Yeah. That's funny, man.
Dylan
The legend.
Jake
The legend.
Dylan
I'm also watching Survivor right now.
Shane
I've never seen Survivor, but I really want to see it.
Dylan
It's amazing.
Shane
Really.
Dylan
It's so. I've, like. I've grown up watching Big Brother. It's, like, one of my favorite shows of all time. I love that show. I got Cole into.
Brayden
That show is the best.
Dylan
I've tried to get into that.
Shane
I've only seen the season of Big Brother with Frankie Grande.
Dylan
I watched it. I watched it. Of course. Watch it live. Fucking love that show. And then everyone was always like, if you love Big Brother, you'll love Survivor. And I always, for some reason, I was like, nah, Big Brother's bad. There's, like, weird. Like, I was on this high horse about Big Brother for no reason, like, two years ago, just decided to start a random season. It was season 15. It was in China, and it was incredible. I was like, how have I not been watching the show? So now. Now there's two seasons a year, and I'm like, I'm.
Shane
And it's that good.
Dylan
Oh, it's incredible.
Shane
You guys should go on Survive it for album promo.
Dylan
Wow.
Jake
That'd be fun.
Brayden
So I so would want to do that.
Dylan
I know. I watched the. I watch it. I'm like, I. I'd like to try it. I'd like to try it. Celebrity Survivor season.
Shane
No, you guys have to go on with everyone.
Dylan
Okay.
Shane
That's like what Mike White did.
Dylan
That is what Mike White did.
Jake
Mike White did. I seen.
Shane
I saw you guys watch White Lotus.
Jake
No.
Dylan
Yes.
Shane
Okay.
Dylan
Yes.
Shane
Cool. So how'd you come up with the name Wallows?
Jake
Oh, great question. Honestly. Well, first of all, I always like asking you a question when you ask me a question.
Shane
I love talking about myself. Go ahead.
Jake
Okay, great. How did you come up with the name Therapist Thunderpuss?
Shane
But yeah, so basically, in college, I started an octopus review account called Pass that Puss. So, like, I would eat octopus and I would. I would go, hi, Jake 10. So usually a little more enthusiastic than that.
Jake
Okay.
Shane
And then I eat the. I eat the octopus, and then I rate it out of eight. Because they have eight tentacles.
Jake
Correct.
Shane
So then I started posting on my Instagram story, like, tell me what's wrong? And I would give people, like, pretty blunt advice. And then I was like, damn, Like, I think I should probably have a podcast. Just. I was like, therapy, Therapists.
Dylan
It's brilliant.
Jake
Really brilliant.
Brayden
It's brilliant.
Jake
It's literally. I needed to hear how you did it so I could tell you how we.
Shane
I was really high at the time, but I don't smoke weed anymore.
Jake
I see. I don't. I don't.
Dylan
I don't. I don't touch that.
Jake
That stuff either anymore.
Shane
That stuff when you stop.
Jake
Well, I've only had it a handful of times.
Shane
Okay.
Jake
And the last time I did. Me and my lion. No, I'm dead.
Shane
Oh, okay. I can't tell with you.
Jake
With me?
Shane
Yes.
Jake
Oh, no. Oh, no. I never lie. I really don't. Is that a lie? I don't know. Geez.
Shane
I know.
Jake
I'm full of myself.
Brayden
Is it crazy if I use the bathroom real quick?
Shane
Go use the bathroom. You're perfect.
Brayden
I'll be right.
Dylan
Should we.
Jake
Are we pausing?
Shane
No, we can keep going.
Brayden
No, no, no.
Jake
Just keep going.
Brayden
I know. I've heard the.
Shane
No, we will wait for you. Oh, yeah.
Jake
What was I talking about again?
Shane
You. How you don't Smoke?
Jake
Oh, yeah. Yeah. I don't smoke weed. I don't. I don't really enjoy it. I've had. I've had a good time and whatnot. But, yeah, not anymore. Last. Yeah.
Dylan
Do you have a specific. Like, what? What? Is there a specific thing that, like, got you. You were not into it anymore?
Jake
Well, I remember there was a time where we got a little something, and I couldn't say, sit and sleep will beat anyone's advertised price, or, your mattress is free.
Dylan
I remember this.
Jake
I was. I was sitting. I was sitting. I was sitting down like this, and I was like. I was like, this is the worst feeling in the world. Like, I just feel so bad. And then Dylan was, like, laughing at me, and he's like, say, sit and sleep will beat anyone's advertised price. So your mattress is free. Like, you know that saying, but, you know, sit and sleep. So I was like. I was like, fries. And I was like, I just couldn't. There's a video of me saying it. I was like, really? I was like, probably, like, 16. And ever since then, I was like, nope, never again.
Shane
Oh, wow.
Jake
Just because of sit and sleep one time.
Shane
Yeah, I've had experiences like that. But then post college, which we're about to talk about, I smoked every single day. Every day, my life. I would wake up, smoke for, like, what, three, four years?
Jake
Yeah.
Shane
And then I started getting really bad anxiety, and I was like, wait, I can't do this anymore.
Jake
Well, I remember the last time I smoked was I was kind of, like, trying to prove to myself that I could kind of like an exposure therapy. So I was like. I was kind of always afraid of it. Like, you know what I mean? So we were in Oregon with our manager, and we literally went to a strip club in Oregon for fun, just me and him. That. You guys had girlfriends at the time, so you didn't want to go. So just me and him. Like, maybe not. So we go and we're walking back, and then he's like, do you want. Do you want some of this? And I was like, you know, because it was, like, legal there, and he bought it, and I was like, you know what? Like, I will. For fun. I'm not gonna get high. So I took one little hit of it, and I was, like, really afraid. I was like, good thing that's over.
Shane
Like, right?
Jake
I'm not gonna feel anything. I'm not gonna feel anything. And I'm in the elevator with him, and I'm like, yeah, there it comes. It's like, please, God, know And I go in my room and I look in the mirror, My eyes are bloodshot. And I was like. I literally started doing jumping jacks, push ups. I was like, I got to get. I was just so paranoid. And then. And then I let it go. And then I had a good time. And then I never did it again. Ever. And I never will.
Shane
Yeah.
Dylan
Never will.
Jake
It's cut, dude. I'm good on it. I'm good.
Shane
Do you smoke a lot?
Dylan
No, not a lot. I have. It's. It's been a while for me as well, but not really for any reason. I started to, like, enjoy it less. I don't know.
Shane
Yeah, me too.
Dylan
Yeah, like, the feeling. I never got full anxiety from it. I just sort of every time I was like, I kind of don't need to be feeling this way.
Shane
Right? I. I agree. Yeah, I agree.
Jake
No shame to people who love it. That's awesome.
Dylan
Of course.
Shane
I mean, I used to all power. I'll probably go back to it. So you went to usc.
Brayden
Yes.
Shane
So where'd you live? Do you want. All four years?
Brayden
Yeah. Did you go there?
Shane
Yes. No.
Brayden
What?
Shane
Oh. So I realized I. So you were PA And. And then that's how this came up.
Brayden
And then.
Shane
Yes.
Jake
Yeah.
Brayden
Bathroom.
Shane
Okay. So you. You went to usc. Where did you live in New North.
Brayden
I lived in Trojan hall last year.
Shane
Yes.
Jake
Right.
Brayden
By Doomer. Ground zero. Did that still?
Shane
Yes.
Brayden
Yep.
Shane
They had a good breakfast burrito.
Brayden
Yes. Smoothies and shakes.
Shane
Yeah.
Brayden
And then I lived. Do you. Do you know the restaurant Nature's Brew? Do you know Nature's Brew?
Shane
The memory you just unlocked? I'm sick to my stomach.
Brayden
The little cafe.
Shane
Yes.
Brayden
And next. EBay's ramen.
Shane
Have you had it?
Dylan
Oh, yeah.
Brayden
EBay.
Shane
I'm sick. I'm sick. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Delicious. Wait. Oh, my God, I'm sick. Ebay's ramen sick.
Brayden
Like, yeah, in like, a bad way.
Jake
Yeah. I hate ebay's.
Shane
I know. They had good crispy rice.
Jake
Oh, yeah.
Brayden
No eBays. EBays.
Shane
And you lived right there and.
Brayden
Yeah, and I worked at Nature's Brew, so I was a server at Nature's Brew.
Shane
What year?
Brayden
Like 2016-18. No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Shane
Before my time. Okay, so you lived there, and then where'd you live?
Brayden
And then after college.
Shane
Oh, you lived there all the rest of your. Three years.
Brayden
Three years. I lived right in, like, a house. It was a house with 10 people. 10 bedrooms.
Dylan
Quite a lineup in that house.
Brayden
People.
Jake
Yeah.
Brayden
Good lineup.
Dylan
Good lineup.
Brayden
I lived there and Danny lived there. Who tours with us? And did you know Remy Wolf?
Shane
Yes.
Brayden
Yes. Remy Wolf lived in that house.
Shane
Did she go to usc?
Jake
Yeah.
Shane
Huh?
Jake
Huh?
Shane
Fight on.
Brayden
Fight on.
Dylan
Liz. Like, ever. I mean, everyone. Everyone who lived in the house is doing, like, really well. It's like. Yeah, everyone.
Brayden
It was a prosperous place.
Shane
EBay's.
Brayden
EBay's.
Shane
Oh, my God. They had great ramen.
Brayden
Great ramen.
Shane
I would love to go there with you.
Brayden
We should go.
Shane
Would you go back? Is it still open?
Jake
Yeah.
Shane
Cool.
Brayden
I hope it is.
Shane
Did you guys ever party with him at usc?
Dylan
If we ever party with you there. We were there all the time, like, right. Like, making demos and stuff.
Jake
Right.
Dylan
We would go, like, a few times a week, so we were always there. We played a party at your house once.
Brayden
We played the Ultimate Frisbee Promise.
Dylan
Yeah.
Shane
What?
Dylan
It was like the first Wallows. Yeah, the first Wallows performance.
Brayden
I played bass.
Dylan
Yeah.
Brayden
Instead of played drums.
Dylan
You did. We had. Was. Was pleaser out.
Brayden
I don't think.
Jake
Was it out. I don't. I don't know if it was really. It might have been before.
Dylan
Wow.
Brayden
I feel like it was like, it was.
Jake
Oh, was it out?
Brayden
Yeah, I feel like it.
Dylan
We had one song out. It was like the first Wallace performance was there.
Brayden
Yeah. In the house.
Jake
Yeah.
Dylan
The strange 80s event, too.
Brayden
Stefan played drums.
Dylan
You played bass.
Jake
Played bass for a while. Oh, Stefan.
Dylan
Stefan produced our first few singles. He did that we put out. He used to have, or might still have out in Irvine. And. Yeah, he, like, played drums with us for, like, this charity event. We played right when we started, like, right when we first started Wallows, when we first came out as well as. And then. Yeah, I haven't seen him in a while, but he, like, he helped jump start the whole thing. Stefan.
Jake
Mac.
Shane
Do you guys remember, like, a moment where you were like, oh, like, this is what we're gonna do forever?
Jake
Honestly, it's probably when we were kids, like. Like, I remember just, like, always writing and, like, putting track lists together and sending it to them, and I was like, oh, yeah, this is just what's gonna be happening in the future. Like, it was. It was when I was naive enough to not know that there was, like, a reason why it shouldn't happen so just kind of naturally led into adulthood. And now I look back and I'm like, wow. Like, it's really cool that this worked out in that way. Or it's. You know what I mean?
Shane
Yeah. Yeah.
Jake
There was never a But the time I was like, wow, this is actually happening is probably when we went on our first tour or something or put out our first song. People were listening to it. That's probably when you're like, whoa. Like, is this actually gonna happen?
Shane
Right.
Jake
For a long time, it got to the point where that was what we knew we were gonna do. And then there's a period when we're like, 14 to 20 where nothing's happening. And that's why we called our first album Nothing Happens. Because we were like, why isn't anything happening for our band? Like, you always write or you're playing shows, but we didn't really know what to do in terms of marketing ourselves or anything. Like, that's probably the worst thing we were. That was probably the thing we were worst at was, like, knowing how to, like, promote our band or something. We would just write and whatever.
Dylan
Children.
Jake
Yeah. Yeah, That's. That also.
Dylan
Nothing's happening at 15.
Jake
Yeah. We're like, why? Why?
Shane
That's the. That's the spirit.
Jake
Yeah, that's the spirit.
Shane
It's why you guys are as successful as.
Jake
How did you get successful? How did you get known?
Shane
I like you.
Jake
I love knowing. I love knowing.
Shane
I started my Octopus account.
Jake
Yep.
Shane
And then I would just post on that. And then I was an assistant to this guy named Zach, and he was always like, if you ever. If anything ever happens, I'll manage you. If anything ever happens, I'll manage you. And then over the course of a week, I, like, posted these, like. Like, improv skits, and, like, it really took off, and he started managing me.
Dylan
Wow.
Shane
Yeah.
Jake
That's good.
Shane
So that's my story.
Dylan
It's a good story.
Shane
Yeah.
Brayden
Do you believe in manifestation?
Shane
Oh, yeah. But, like. Like. But, like. Oh, like, how do you. Like, how do you. Do you guys manifest?
Brayden
Well, I. When you were talking about us as kids, I was like, maybe we were just manifestation maxed at that time. Because I don't think there was any part of us that was doubtful about what we wanted to do.
Shane
That's true manifestation, by the way.
Brayden
Yeah.
Shane
Not writing stuff down. I mean, like, I really think true manifestation is just being like, I'm gonna do this, and if you get in my way, I'll step on you.
Jake
Yours is festation.
Shane
Yes, it was.
Jake
There we go.
Shane
Do you guys eat octopus?
Dylan
Yeah.
Jake
Yeah. Yeah. I just had octopus the other day.
Shane
From where?
Jake
From Mexico.
Shane
How amazing was it? I'm sure it was amazing.
Jake
It was. I feel. Okay. Sometimes I feel bad about eating octopus.
Shane
Stop.
Dylan
I'm sure.
Shane
You know, seriously, I can't. I know, I know, I know.
Jake
I feel. I mean, just to be completely transparent, I feel the way about pigs and I don't. I don't like eating pork or bacon because I think they're so sweet and so cute, but.
Shane
Hey, you seen Babe? I. I haven't seen Babe, actually.
Jake
I haven't seen Babe. That's really funny. That was like a really.
Shane
I never.
Jake
I've never heard a more perfectly timed question. Thank you, then. Beautifully said. It was like a poem.
Shane
God, I should have you around all this time.
Jake
Have you. Have you seen Babe? Just float off your tongue?
Dylan
Just a hype man behind him, all this.
Shane
Yeah. Really, I think I need it.
Jake
Have you seen Babe? I guess.
Shane
Well, so why don't you eat? You just think they're sweet.
Jake
We'll figure. We'll figure this out. It's a work in progress. It's been, you know, it's been instilled in us since we were children that pigs are sweet, that cows and chicken are tasty.
Shane
They are so tasty. Okay.
Jake
Okay. Yes. Okay. Yes.
Shane
Should we play a game?
Jake
Sure.
Dylan
Yes, please.
Jake
I love games, actually.
Shane
Okay. What. What's. Everyone's like if you had to eat one thing for the rest of your life? Like, what would that be?
Brayden
Yogurt. I'm serious.
Shane
Are you serious?
Brayden
I love yogurt. I'm serious. You guys know this. It's so good.
Jake
Yogurt.
Shane
Like Greek or what?
Brayden
Yeah, I like whole milk Greek. Or like, that's why he has the body.
Jake
He does.
Shane
I was about to say, like, you're in shape. Wait, so what toppings? Like, what's the vibe?
Brayden
I mean, honey. Like a sweet fruit honey.
Shane
Sorry. Every time. Every time my dad thought I was getting sick, he would make me have a spoonful of manuka honey every morning. Oh.
Dylan
I like minute.
Shane
I'm like, actually, like, if I keep talking about it, I'll throw up on you.
Dylan
Well, you better watch it.
Jake
Okay.
Shane
So you like honey on your yogurt?
Jake
Honey?
Brayden
Yeah, like a sweet sweet.
Shane
So you would have it breakfast, lunch and dinner. Greek yogurt.
Brayden
I literally probably have done that before because it's like the only thing in my fridge. Maybe we're leaving the next day, I gotta eat it and I'll just.
Shane
Sorry.
Brayden
That, like, they heard it for.
Jake
It's like. Yeah, the echo of the. It's good echo.
Brayden
That's.
Jake
Yeah.
Shane
Okay. You know what? I. I'm so sorry I laughed. I completely respect your.
Jake
Oh, it's.
Brayden
It's. No, it's It's a little weird.
Dylan
Yep.
Shane
Okay.
Dylan
I feel like if I had to give, like, man, there's something, like, recently in my life, I feel like there's nothing more satisfying than, like, a good breakfast burrito. You know what I mean?
Shane
What's your favorite in Lake?
Dylan
I haven't had waking late yet. I mean, you don't need to.
Jake
I think Dialogue is my favorite.
Dylan
Dialogue has an incredible breakfast burrito.
Jake
Dialogue rules.
Dylan
And also Amara Kitchen, which is, like, sort of a deep cut, but Cafe Los Feliz. Yeah. They have a great one.
Shane
They have the best one in great ones.
Dylan
Go Get Them Tiger is a good one as well.
Shane
Never had that, but I've had Go Get Them Tiger.
Dylan
It's yummy. But then, like, also another thing that comes to mind is a Cheesy Gordita crunch from Taco Bell.
Shane
Okay.
Dylan
Like, insane.
Shane
I don't know why. I can't really get behind Taco Bell.
Dylan
Have you had one of those?
Shane
Of course.
Dylan
Okay.
Shane
Okay. Of course. My friends used to order that every night in college. I just can't. Like, my favorite, like, drunk food is, like, a Tatsu Ramen.
Dylan
My drunk food is Taco Bell.
Shane
Okay. Yeah.
Dylan
Like, there's, like, so many nights I gotta get home, and I like Postmates 2 in the morning. Like, Taco Bell. And I'm just alone eating it, you know?
Shane
They're doing a Dorito. Cheesy Gordita Crunch.
Dylan
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I've seen that. I like the classic.
Shane
Yeah. You don't like Doritos?
Dylan
I'm hungry now. No, I love Doritos. I love Doritos. What would yours be? One thing.
Jake
One thing for us, my life would be. No. What's funny? It would actually be, like, this stir fry. This stir fry. Like, vegetables and, like, a nice chicken. Just, like, a nice sauce. Just a stir fry. I feel like I could. I feel like I could happily live.
Shane
My whole life just over a bed of white rice.
Jake
Oh, my God.
Shane
Like, don't give me chills.
Jake
Suck me in.
Shane
Yeah. Like, don't give me chills right now.
Jake
Yeah.
Shane
Crazy. Like, white rice. Like, see, what I describe white rice as is, like, it's a canvas. It's a blank canvas, and you can just paint it with whatever sauce you want.
Jake
Yeah.
Shane
Like, I would eat white rice with Bolognese.
Dylan
Yeah. Oh, that'd be amazing, actually.
Shane
They actually have that at Tatsu Ramen. Well, it's not boring, but it's like a meaty sauce. It's just called red rice. And it's a bowl of White rice with like, meat, red sauce on.
Jake
Wow.
Shane
Let me get it for lunch.
Jake
Wow, that sounds really good.
Shane
Yeah.
Dylan
Also a good Caesar app.
Shane
Oh, hey, I'll throw up this time on you.
Dylan
You don't like Caesar.
Shane
I hate Caesar wraps more than anything in the entire world.
Jake
I'm not a big Caesar up guy either. I think we might have a lot of similar tastes, honestly.
Shane
Great.
Jake
I feel like if we like dove deep into this, we might have a lot of similars.
Shane
I think we're. I think it's a kismet thing with us.
Dylan
Wow.
Jake
What is that?
Shane
Okay. I think I hate Caesar wraps because one time I had a Caesar app. It was the nastiest I've ever had in my entire life. It was wet with Caesar. I love that.
Dylan
I ate this yesterday. Yeah.
Jake
No way.
Shane
Did you really?
Jake
That's insane.
Dylan
It's like the most popular Caesar app in la. Yeah, I split it with our friend Kevin. I have one yesterday.
Shane
Yeah, you split it because you can't have the full one.
Dylan
Well, I can't.
Shane
Oh, okay. You don't think it's like, wet?
Dylan
Isn't it supposed to be?
Brayden
I like what? Yeah. Wet food good. Wet food good.
Shane
Well, yeah. You like Greek yogurt?
Jake
Yeah, just.
Brayden
Yes.
Shane
So what you say? Wet food good. Like, do you like the little liquid at the top of the Greek yogurt when you first open it?
Brayden
No, no, no, no. You gotta. You gotta mix that in. That's gross. That's gross. That's gross.
Dylan
Hiding behind the pillow.
Jake
So crazy.
Shane
I like their. Their Italian sandwich is the best in la.
Dylan
You know, has a good Italian sandwich in la. Besides B Cities, of course, is Bub and Grandma's.
Jake
Now they do have a great. They do have a great.
Shane
Well, you wouldn't know cuz you don't eat pork.
Jake
What did you say? Italian.
Shane
Italian sandwich.
Jake
Oh, I guess I have eaten. Well, I do eat pork sometimes.
Shane
Okay.
Jake
So I just feel bad about it.
Shane
That's fine.
Jake
And I. And I limit. Limit. I'm not like full. Yeah. Anyway.
Shane
Yes.
Brayden
Let me get this clear.
Shane
I respect that.
Jake
Yes.
Shane
What are you guys. They're pissed about today?
Dylan
Oh, good question. I feel like I'm always pissed about something.
Shane
Love that energy.
Dylan
Yeah.
Jake
Yeah. I actually did some deep breathing in my car before I came in here today.
Shane
Did you really?
Jake
So I feel very, very relaxed.
Shane
You did deep breathing.
Jake
I did.
Shane
Were you nervous?
Jake
No, I'm not nervous. I feel like sometimes maybe my mind can. Can wander for some of these things and maybe I'll like, talk myself into being nervous. But at the same time, like, I always kind of. I always have a good time.
Shane
How do you deep breathe?
Jake
So you do a nice.
Shane
And then should we all.
Jake
I mean, they. They know this so. Well, I don't know. Do you guys want to deep breathe or do you not want to deep breathe?
Dylan
Why not?
Shane
Yeah, I was about to be. Like, why wouldn't we?
Jake
Okay, so deep breath in. And three, two, one. Breathe out. Breathe in.
Shane
Are you guys closing your eyes or what's the vibe? Yeah. Okay.
Jake
On this last one, breathe in all the way. And then breathe in one more. Like, more than you think you can. Three, two, one. And how can you be therapist after that?
Shane
I mean, I have a few things, like. But like, that. That feels amazing.
Jake
I love it. I love deep breathing, man.
Shane
I feel, like, high almost.
Dylan
Is there something that your therapist about right now that you're able to speak on on camera?
Shane
Yeah. My stomach keeps grumbling and I'm really anxious every time that you guys hear it.
Dylan
My stomach is grumbling right now. Okay, so we're in this together.
Shane
Wow.
Dylan
Yeah.
Shane
Okay, so I'm not therapist about that anymore.
Dylan
Okay.
Shane
Yeah.
Jake
Well, yeah, let's talk. Actually, let's talk about it. What are you therapist about?
Shane
What am I therapist? Yeah.
Jake
I want to help you. I want to talk about it. I don't know. It's weird, Okay.
Shane
I really like how I look with a spray tan. But, like, it's super. Like, it doesn't make sense to get a spray tan every single day. You know what I mean?
Jake
I'd feel. I'd feel contaminated. I'd feel sticky.
Shane
No. You know, like, spray tans are. Have you ever had a spray tan?
Jake
No.
Shane
Oh, you need to get a spray tan. Like, it. Like spray tans are. Have you ever had a spray tan?
Dylan
No. I probably should.
Shane
Well, have you ever had a spray tan?
Jake
No.
Shane
Okay, well, they change your life.
Jake
Really? I feel like I'd feel sticky.
Shane
No, you do.
Jake
Okay.
Shane
But you have to get the express.
Jake
What is that?
Shane
Okay, so the express, you wash off in three to four hours, and then the standard, you sleep in, so you have to sleep on, like, a bunch of towels.
Jake
Does not give you, like, acne or anything, because I have very sensitive skin.
Shane
It might, but my girl. I'll give you my girl, okay? And she has the best formula. It will not give you acne.
Jake
Okay?
Shane
I promise.
Jake
Interesting.
Shane
I would never do that.
Jake
Probably not.
Brayden
Yeah, probably.
Jake
But maybe.
Shane
What else am I therapist about? I kind of have to pee.
Jake
You should go.
Dylan
Should we let you.
Jake
You should Go.
Shane
Do you care?
Dylan
No, I don't care.
Brayden
No, I did it.
Shane
You set the standard.
Jake
Yeah.
Shane
Okay. Can we have a group chat? Yeah, let's start it Wallace plus Jake. Okay. I wanna. Give me my phone. We're starting a group chat. Us. For us. The four. Wallace plus Jake. Okay, ready?
Dylan
Let's do it.
Jake
I absolutely love that.
Shane
Okay, ready? Okay.
Jake
Oh, yeah.
Shane
So everyone start putting in their numbers. And then you have to text your names. And don't fucking. Don't play with me. And don't text like your name is someone else's, because I know you would.
Jake
I would do that. Yeah.
Brayden
Wow.
Shane
Okay, so we totally forgot. You guys never told me how you named the band Wallace.
Jake
All right, so I grew up playing this skateboarding game called Tony Hawk's Underground. Are you familiar with Tony Hawks Underground?
Shane
Of course not.
Jake
So turn Axe Underground. Great game. And in one of the levels, you skate Hawaii. Are you familiar with Hawaii?
Shane
Somewhat.
Jake
Okay, so then. So then you. You skate this. There's this famous skate spot there called Wallows, actually. So there's a. There's a. There's a place called Wallows. And when we were trying to name the band, I was actually. We were trying to rename the band we originally called the Fever, which is hilarious. But we were kids, you know, The Fever. The Fever.
Shane
Like the Cure.
Jake
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We're like the. The antithesis to the Cure.
Shane
Yes.
Jake
And then. So. So then basically we were renaming the band and we came up with a ton of terrible band names.
Shane
Like what?
Jake
Thunderpuss? No.
Shane
Do you know Thunderpuss is a store in a record store in Ohio?
Brayden
We went there.
Dylan
You're right.
Jake
You're right.
Brayden
Magnolia. Yes, that's right.
Jake
Magnolia. What?
Brayden
Thunder.
Shane
Thunder.
Jake
Yeah, that's right.
Shane
Manny has a T shirt from them.
Jake
I have a shirt, too.
Shane
Really?
Jake
Yeah. Geez.
Shane
Look at God.
Jake
Wow. That's amazing.
Shane
Yeah.
Jake
So then. Yeah, so we were trying to name the band and then Wallows. I was. I was. I remember I was in a sauna, actually, and I was thinking about what we could call it, and then Wallows popped into the brain because I remembered it from the game and then brought up to them, and the rest is history.
Shane
Wow.
Jake
Yeah. Yeah.
Shane
That's amazing.
Jake
That's Wallows.
Shane
I like Wallows because it's like. I wallow in my, like, stuff.
Dylan
Yeah. Yeah, it's sort of like.
Shane
What?
Jake
I don't know. I don't know. It's interesting.
Shane
Okay, what were you saying?
Dylan
Oh, no, I was saying, like, because it's a Wallow, it Sounds like a verb. Like. Like a. Like an adverb or something.
Shane
Well, if it was. If it was, then yes.
Dylan
Wallowing is a verb.
Jake
Right.
Shane
An LA show soon.
Dylan
We are. Yes.
Jake
Yeah, we're playing Dodger Stadium.
Dylan
Yeah, Dodger Stadium with My Chemical Romance. Two days, two nights.
Shane
Wait, when?
Dylan
End of July.
Shane
I will be there.
Jake
Yeah.
Shane
No, I'm not kidding. Like, I'm here. End of July.
Jake
Yeah, it'd be awesome.
Shane
What's the date?
Brayden
2620. It's Saturday. Sunday.
Dylan
Yeah. 2627. Yeah.
Jake
Yeah. That's gonna be amazing, man.
Shane
Are you excited?
Jake
Yeah.
Shane
Do you guys, like, what's your favorite? Like, like, what's your music taste like? What's your favorite bands of all time? Your favorite song singers of all time?
Jake
Like, oh, I love the Beatles. Yeah, they're my favorite. So I'm just gonna end it there because it's so easy to just leave it there and just. It's just. Yeah. How about you guys?
Shane
You kind of look like one of the Beatles.
Jake
Interesting. What's funny? I don't intentionally do my hair like this or anything. I literally buzz cut my hair and I just let it grow. I don't. It just grew like this.
Shane
Which one you look like?
Jake
I don't know. Danny said I look like George Harrison, but.
Shane
Yeah, that's.
Jake
Oh, yeah. I don't know if. I don't know.
Shane
I know what he looks like. Sorry.
Jake
Have you seen the new Beatles biopic?
Shane
Yeah, it was very well cast.
Jake
Okay.
Dylan
I feel like you're John mixed with Paul.
Jake
Really? Interesting.
Shane
Yes.
Dylan
I think you lean more John, though.
Jake
Really? That's interesting. Paul Hare.
Dylan
John Face.
Jake
Whoa. Interesting. I don't know. That's weird.
Shane
So you like the Beatles?
Jake
I do like the Beatles. Yeah. That. My dad showed me the Beatles when I was a kid. Like, it kind of changed my life and made me want to write songs and play music. Yeah.
Dylan
Same story for me. It was the same thing for me. Like, the Beatles were like the. I was singing Abbey Road, the album, front to back at 3 years old, like in my basement kind of thing.
Brayden
Yeah, I like the Beatles, too. I like the Beatles, too.
Jake
Cole get to know you? Yeah.
Brayden
I think it was like the Strokes was the band that made me.
Shane
I love the Strokes.
Jake
Yeah.
Shane
Someday's my favorite song of all time.
Jake
Yeah. No, the Strokes, one of my favorite bands of all time.
Shane
Yeah, they're great.
Jake
Cole kind of looks like one of the Strokes.
Shane
So do you.
Jake
You have like the fab hair mixed with the fab.
Shane
You kind of look like Julian now.
Jake
I Think he looks like Julian?
Shane
Hey, maybe.
Brayden
I don't.
Shane
Julian looks like.
Jake
I don't know. I don't know.
Dylan
Strokes were a big one. Kings of Leon were a huge one for me. Like, when I heard Taper Jean Girl in Disturbia, the movie.
Shane
I love that.
Dylan
Incredible.
Jake
I love disturbing.
Shane
I love that Table Jean girls in.
Dylan
The credits or something, I think.
Jake
No, it's in the. It's in the scene when he's on house arrest. He's putting down the gnome and.
Dylan
Okay.
Jake
Yeah. So good.
Dylan
And I went. And I got, like, obsessed with them, and I was like, I need to do that.
Jake
Yeah. They were, like, life changing.
Dylan
Make music like this. And then that's why. One of the first songs we ever covered and learned was a Kings of Leon song called Molly's Chambers. It's, like, from their first album, but they're sort of like, the reason I like. I mean, Led Zeppelin and Beatles, Hendrix, Stones, all that stuff is, like, why we did originally. It's like what Braden and I bonded over when we were really little. And then, like, what we were into when we met Cole. But then, like, hearing though Kings of Leon is when I was like, okay, I really need to be in a band. For some reason, I was like, I want to be like that.
Shane
Yeah.
Dylan
I want to be like that.
Shane
Yeah.
Dylan
I never. I don't think I ever got as rock and roll as they originally were. They were like, like, actually, like, rock and roll lifestyle when they started, but Kings of Leon. Yeah.
Shane
Oh, wow.
Jake
Yeah.
Dylan
Yeah, they were. They were like. They're three brothers and a cousin, so they're a family band, and they were just like, you know, sex, drugs, rock and roll vibe was like their whole thing. Yeah. Was their whole thing.
Jake
Yeah.
Dylan
And ours is like catan, cold brew and cold plunge. Yeah, cold plunge.
Shane
I love a cold plunge.
Jake
Same. Same. Mega. Yeah, Mega. Same. Do you have a. Do you have a cold plunge?
Shane
I do. I don't use it.
Jake
Nice.
Shane
It's filled with leaves.
Jake
That's kind of cool. Yeah, it's like. It's like. It's like a tea.
Shane
It's just like you have the maintenance that goes behind. It is, like, such a. To do.
Jake
Yeah.
Dylan
It's like water from it and then just.
Jake
Yeah, you just. Yeah, you can.
Dylan
Kettle.
Jake
It's like tea. Yeah.
Shane
Yeah.
Jake
You can put green tea leaves in it.
Shane
Yeah. You guys drink tea?
Jake
Tea. You know what? I love tea, but I don't drink it as much as I drink coffee.
Shane
Yeah. Yeah. I hate tea.
Dylan
You hate tea?
Shane
Yeah.
Brayden
You like coffee?
Jake
Yeah. Coffee.
Dylan
I'm addicted to coffee.
Shane
Yeah, me too.
Dylan
Yeah. You guys actually ordered me one. I'm gonna drink after this on my drive.
Shane
You want it now?
Jake
It was so good.
Dylan
I'm having my way home. Like, enjoy it in the car.
Jake
I'm actually feeling. Because I had cold brew before I got here and cold brew here. I'm feeling it in behind my eyes, like, in my eyelids. Have some water because I'm enjoying it.
Shane
Okay.
Jake
I'm enjoying this behind the eye pulse. Like, I feel like my blood, my veins pulsing by my eyes while I look at you.
Shane
Don't give me chills.
Jake
It's interesting.
Shane
It's kind of fun, like, in a good way.
Jake
Yeah.
Shane
Okay. I'm really excited for a group chat, you guys.
Dylan
Yeah, me too. We got to get it right.
Shane
I mean, like, I am going to text in it every day.
Dylan
Please.
Brayden
That's great.
Shane
Yeah.
Jake
Who do you think is going to respond the most?
Shane
Yeah.
Jake
Yeah.
Dylan
Wow.
Jake
About the least.
Shane
You, maybe.
Brayden
That's right. Yeah.
Jake
I'm bad.
Shane
Okay. You have to send your Greek yogurt every day.
Jake
Okay.
Shane
You have to send the wordle.
Dylan
Yeah. And then finally, someone. I can share the world.
Shane
Yes. Do you. Do you do. Do you do the Spottle?
Dylan
Oh, yes.
Brayden
Oh, we were doing that.
Dylan
Did it recently. We got it.
Jake
Yes.
Shane
Should we do it all together right now?
Jake
Yeah, let's do it.
Dylan
Yes. This is a great way.
Jake
Do you play a contextual, by the way, as well?
Dylan
Contexto.
Jake
Okay. We'll talk about.
Shane
The reason I can't do connections is because somebody once tweeted. I think the connections gave me schizophrenia, and schizophrenia is my number one fear. So I just. I can't. Okay, so ready? Who's our first guest? I always go with Taylor Swift. So do you care?
Jake
Let's go, Taylor. Okay, let's go, Taylor.
Shane
Taylor Swift. Okay. Wow. Female member. Okay. It's a solo female pop star from the USA down lower than 2006. Should we go with Madonna as our second?
Jake
I like Madonna. I like Madonna.
Dylan
Yeah.
Brayden
What's the pop. What's the.
Shane
It's not close to number two. Okay. Let's try Madonna.
Jake
Let's try Madonna. Oh, that's a great guess. Okay.
Shane
Lower than 1983. Should we do share?
Jake
Okay, so maybe we're thinking.
Dylan
And it's less popular than Madonna. I feel like share would make sense.
Shane
No, no, it's. It's. It's.
Jake
Yeah, it's.
Shane
Yeah, it's less popular. Let's try share.
Jake
Let's try share.
Shane
Share.
Jake
Wow.
Dylan
Can we get it in three?
Jake
Oh, this is Crazy.
Dylan
That was incredible. That was incredible. You kind of did that yourself. You got that.
Shane
Thanks.
Dylan
Do you swaddle every day?
Shane
Yeah, every single day has it.
Dylan
We're on there. So sometimes we'll just put our name in first and just to see where it gets us.
Jake
Yeah. That's fun. That's fun to see.
Dylan
We're in there.
Jake
It's fun.
Dylan
Maybe one day.
Shane
Have. Have you ever been it before?
Jake
Maybe. I don't know. I don't know.
Shane
I think you have. I think we really. I think you have.
Dylan
That's so.
Jake
That's crazy.
Shane
Yeah. Yes. And they play. Are you bored yet? Yes. You definitely were.
Jake
That's a pinch me.
Shane
That's a pinch me. What's your biggest pinch me moment ever that we've had? Yeah.
Jake
Might be being on this podcast.
Shane
Don't play with me.
Jake
I'm serious. Feels good. I want to get pinched. Yeah. Other than this, honestly, maybe like playing Coachella, like hearing for the first time we're playing Coachella back in 2019. That was a big pinch me because it's.
Shane
I went to that first Coachella.
Jake
Oh, really?
Shane
Yeah.
Jake
Who. Who was the headliners?
Shane
Ariana.
Dylan
Kid Cudi, Childish, Cambino and Team and Paula.
Shane
Yes.
Dylan
And then Ariana were like the three headliners.
Shane
Who was Billy.
Jake
Did Billy played then?
Shane
That was the first time I ever saw Billy. And then who else? Julia. Who else? Who else was the headliner? I remember Fisher was there.
Dylan
I remember that was the weekend there that year. No, no, that was already headlined.
Shane
Yeah.
Dylan
At that point. I don't know.
Jake
That was fun.
Shane
That was a fun year.
Jake
It was a fun year.
Dylan
It was fun. We played like early. We played like 1:30 in the Mojave tent.
Shane
Oh, that's a great. Did you have fun?
Dylan
Yes. But it was the first show of the whole. Nothing happens to her for that album. And we had never played the new songs live for an audience we'd never played with in ear monitors ever. So it was like a first all on the Coachella stage for the first time. And it was like a ton of technical difficulties. Really nerve wracking. I remember after that I was like, we're never doing Coachella as the first stop of a tour ever again. Because it was like a lot. So, like, you need to be comfortable and like, already on the road for a bit at that point before playing.
Shane
I feel it's also like such a stage. Like, it's on YouTube and it's on. Everyone sees it.
Dylan
We played in 2022. That was definitely better.
Shane
What stage you guys do Then outdoor theater. Do you like the outdoor theater better than Mojave?
Dylan
Yeah, outdoor theater. I think I was just at Coachella again. I think that outdoor theater.
Shane
I know. I saw you and I almost said, hi, you there? Yeah.
Dylan
Oh, where'd you see me?
Jake
Where?
Dylan
Where?
Shane
Claro.
Dylan
Oh, claro.
Shane
Yeah.
Dylan
Well, I was kind of going to reference that because that. I feel like that the Marias had the same spot, like, the same slot the night.
Shane
You see the Maria's, too? Yeah, yeah, they were great.
Dylan
They're the homies. But Claire was a homie, too. But then we like it. That slot at night. I was like, this is the best set time at coachella. Like that 8:30pm outdoor theater.
Shane
That was Charlie's. That was Charlie set, too. Yeah.
Dylan
Beautiful. Like, that's sort of. I think that's the best lot of Coachella. Um. But yeah, what was the oh, pinch me moments? I mean, it's not necessarily like a pinch me in a way where I'm like, I'm so excited. I can't believe. It was more like, what are you talking about? But Morrissey came to a show we played a couple of years ago. We did this, like, 50th anniversary special show at the Roxy, and they asked us to play, and we were like, yeah, we have a lot of history there at the Roxy. And we played and. And then someone told us. They were like, Morrissey from the Smiths. They're like, morrissey is apparently a big Wallace fan. He's asking to come to the show.
Shane
Wow.
Dylan
I was like. We were like, what are you talking about? Morris?
Jake
He's.
Dylan
No. Yeah, right. And they were like, no, no. They're like, no, for real. And then, like, time went on. Then they were like, yeah, we're saving tickets for Morrissey. We're like, oh.
Jake
We're like, okay, sure, he's gonna show up. Yeah.
Dylan
And then the day of the show, they're like, he's coming. Apparently he's coming. You're like, okay, right? And then we were before they said, they're like, he's in the building. He's ready to watch. We're like, morris is here. Like, I can't imagine Morrissey being a fan of anything, let alone wallows. And then.
Shane
Huh?
Dylan
Oh, yeah.
Shane
Who's. Who is that?
Jake
He is.
Dylan
He's the singer of the Smiths.
Shane
Okay, great.
Jake
You know the Smiths?
Shane
I know the. The. Please, please, please let me get what I want.
Dylan
Yes, yes.
Shane
That's like the movie that man.
Dylan
To say the least. But still crazy that he was at A wallow show. But I guess that he was like, there's a really funny video of him sitting there. He looks so upset and, like, he looks so mad. And I think it's apparently, like, our fans are really loud. It was, like, really. A lot of screaming. Like, screaming girl voices, you know? And I think he. It was way too loud for him. And he left, like, three songs in, and I was like, that's the perfect Morrissey story. Like, didn't even need to meet him. It's just the fact that he was.
Shane
There and he got to see how loud your fans were. How cool is that?
Dylan
I don't think he liked it. Yeah, he got out of there. I was like. But that's like a. Something that comes to mind where it's like, this person that is also very. I feel, like, influential on our writing.
Shane
Right?
Jake
Yeah, for sure.
Dylan
Like, to be a fan and come to our show was like, that's crazy. It's wild.
Shane
You guys all write together. Like, who does the. What's the vibe?
Jake
Yeah, we do all right together.
Dylan
Do you have a pinch me moment? Like, one that's really cool to you?
Brayden
Maybe. Maybe. It was when we. When we first started, we had, like, the Wallows music at Gmail. That was, like, what we were getting reached out to under. But when Andrew sent us an email, I remember being like, oh, my God. Because he. Andrew's our manager, and he works at a company. He worked at a company called Monotone, and I was an intern there when I was at. @ USC.
Shane
Oh, wow.
Brayden
When I was there, I crashed my car, and it was awesome with all the salad for everyone in it.
Shane
Wait, was that. Was that because when you're. You were a music business major, right?
Brayden
Yes.
Shane
And you have to do an internship for the music business major.
Brayden
Correct. So that. It was. It was like a summer that I did that for credits or whatever. And then, yeah, when he emailed us, I was like, hey, like, you might remember me. Like, I crashed my car at the thing when I. And he was like, oh, yeah, of course. And then, you know, and then we've been working with them.
Shane
That's amazing. Yeah, that's a really sweet pinch me moment.
Brayden
Yeah.
Shane
Yeah.
Dylan
Although when the. When the email started, like, pouring in labels, too, that was a. That was crazy for us.
Brayden
We were just like little kids. I don't know. Funny time.
Dylan
It was cool.
Jake
You have the truck tattooed on your arm, right, that you crashed?
Brayden
Yeah, it was. It was a truck.
Jake
It's.
Shane
It's okay. Yeah, it's a whole. To do yes.
Dylan
It takes the shirt off you.
Shane
I think you're going to have a new pinch me moment soon. I think you're going to get sent a lot of Greek yogurt.
Jake
Oh.
Dylan
Oh, my God.
Brayden
Siggy's brand. Icelandic, Greek, whatever it is.
Jake
Skier.
Shane
I like. No, like, I don't think you are ready. Like, I really think, like, you're about to get sent a lot of Greek yogurt.
Dylan
I'm gonna get sent a lot of Taco Bell.
Shane
Yes. And Taco Bell.
Jake
I love Perfect bars.
Shane
What do you guys want?
Jake
I'm gonna be getting sent a lot of stir fry.
Dylan
Vegetable stir fry.
Jake
Vegetable stir fry.
Dylan
Chris has ordered you certify every day. That reminds me of a pinch me moment. Recently. We're addicted to a game, a board game called Settlers of Catan. Have you heard of this game?
Shane
I've heard of it. I've never played it.
Jake
You would love it.
Shane
Should we play it together?
Jake
You can play Universe on the phone and we can do that.
Shane
Oh, is it on the phone?
Jake
There is an app on the phone.
Shane
Okay.
Dylan
It's amazing. But we play. It's all we do on tour. Like, it's really all we do. And I think they caught on or some reach out to them or something, and they. We just had a zoom call with them, like, about how we can, like, collaborate. And they're. But I guess they're gonna send us, like, every. Each of us, every single version of the game possible.
Shane
That's amazing.
Dylan
So we're just gonna have this, like, closet full of katan.
Shane
What did you just do to that? I'm so sorry.
Jake
Oh, sometimes. Sometimes these are a little.
Shane
I am so sorry. I did not mean to interrupt. Are you okay?
Jake
Sometimes these are a little inconvenient. I don't know if the convenient. This feels like a BlackBerry. It's the titty we need, like, the iPhone of this.
Shane
It's the titty of the water.
Dylan
I love the titty of the water.
Shane
Yeah.
Jake
To me, this feels like not. Not exactly that. You know this. I do. I'm gonna. This feels like a dongle or something. We need, like, the.
Shane
What else would you want that?
Jake
Because it's so.
Dylan
But you got it on. You just tripped it on. You see, that's the convenience of that.
Shane
That's. You never drip when you have that.
Jake
But sometimes I have a hard time. I feel like. Like a monkey when I'm trying to work on this.
Shane
Yeah. That's the beauty of it, really.
Jake
Okay, let me try.
Shane
Yeah.
Jake
And especially because it's called Smart water. Makes me a little insecure. Yeah.
Shane
Well, you have to take off the safety thing. Yeah.
Dylan
Look how you're done.
Shane
Okay. Ready?
Dylan
You just flip that open.
Brayden
I'll give it a taste.
Jake
Pretty nice, actually. That's pretty nice. I've. Have they made these more like the iPhone?
Shane
What?
Jake
There has been arrowhead, maybe?
Shane
Arrowhead, yes, they do.
Jake
Arrowhead is tricky to get this going. Arrow. I think I have, like, arrowhead, like, memories of this.
Shane
You're not gonna get sent stir fry. You're gonna get sent some of those.
Jake
I. I do love this. I actually. You changed my opinion. Smart water. That was really easy. I'm not so. I'm glad we worked that out on.
Shane
I'm sorry. I've never been so caught off guard by anything in my entire life. It was like, showering with socks on. Like, I don't know what I just witnessed.
Jake
Yeah, just go. Just bypassing.
Shane
Yeah.
Jake
Whoa.
Shane
I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to, like, yuck. Your, like, whatever.
Jake
That's great. You just changed my mind on that.
Shane
Oh, my God. Really?
Jake
Yeah. Yeah. I feel like Steve Jobs or something. I don't know why I keep referencing the iPhone.
Shane
Sorry, do you love your iPhone?
Jake
Yeah, I do. I love watching the video of Steve Jobs presenting the first iPhone.
Shane
What does he say?
Jake
He's just. It's just so fun to see everyone go like, ooh and ah. Back in the day, and.
Dylan
No idea.
Jake
No idea. And you can. And you can scroll. And it was like, oh, you know.
Dylan
And 2008, my mom had an iPhone, and I was like. I thought it was the coolest thing.
Shane
Yeah, it was like that. That was like, the closest to the future I've ever felt.
Dylan
Yeah.
Jake
I used to love watching, like, the unboxing videos of the iPhone. And just like.
Shane
You ever watch I Justine?
Jake
No. No, I Justine sounds.
Shane
No, it's okay.
Jake
Interesting.
Shane
All right, are you guys ready to get into the Tell me what's wrongs?
Jake
Yes, please.
Shane
Okay.
Dylan
Yeah.
Shane
Are you?
Jake
Yes.
Shane
Okay.
Jake
I don't know.
Shane
So the right in, and they tell us what's wrong, and then we give them advice.
Jake
Love it.
Shane
Does anyone need to pee? You're the only one that has it.
Dylan
I did before we started.
Shane
You did do that. We've all peed.
Dylan
We've all peed in your house.
Jake
We're prepared. We're prepared.
Shane
Oh, my God. I like to make plans with my friends, but at the end of the day, we always end up doing the same stuff over and over again. And when I try to make different plans, they never Want to. What should I do?
Dylan
Find new friends. Kidding.
Shane
That's like. That's, like. We're easing into it. That's a really easy problem to have. Like, you just. I would say, like, you need to, like, branch out.
Brayden
Yeah. So they're just bored.
Shane
Well, also, like, I prescribe. Are you bored yet?
Jake
Say puss Scribe.
Shane
Yeah.
Jake
That's so good.
Shane
Thank you so much.
Jake
So good.
Shane
Thank you. Yeah.
Jake
Cool. I feel you'd have good advice for this.
Brayden
I mean, I. I don't know. I. I kind of, like, I'm a creature of. A creature of habit. I like doing the same stuff.
Dylan
How do you convince other people to want to do different things?
Brayden
Yeah. I think you just have to, like. Okay.
Dylan
To lead the charge.
Brayden
Yeah.
Shane
You have to do it. Sorry, Cole, right?
Brayden
No, no, please.
Shane
No, you.
Brayden
I recently. Or, like, two, three years ago, I started playing tennis just, like, on my own. Like, you just have to, like, pick something to do alone.
Shane
Agreed.
Brayden
Like, do. So, like. Or like, if you want to do, like.
Jake
I don't know.
Brayden
I did Pilates once alone, and then you just do it.
Shane
You do reformer?
Brayden
I have done reformer Pilates.
Jake
It's so fun.
Dylan
Oh, yeah.
Shane
You do reformer?
Dylan
Oh, yeah.
Jake
Yeah.
Shane
You guys go to aloe?
Dylan
No, never been alo.
Shane
Okay.
Brayden
Oh, that's. That's the one I see online.
Jake
Right?
Shane
Yeah.
Brayden
Yeah. I haven't been there, but if you just do something alone for yourself, like 10 or something. An activity you, like, attract people to.
Jake
Yeah.
Brayden
Like. Like now, like this morning, I played tennis. Me and Milo.
Jake
Nice.
Shane
And who's Milo?
Jake
Milo.
Brayden
One of my very close friends.
Shane
Okay, cool.
Brayden
And we played, and we walked in, and they're like, oh, hey, Cole. We hear, like, there's someone we knew, and then next door to us was someone else we knew. And I was like, oh. But I didn't, like, actively seek that out. We just, like, started playing tennis, and then suddenly, you kind of, like, are integrated in this thing. So do that.
Shane
So you put scribe. Challengers.
Brayden
Challengers.
Shane
Yes. Yeah, yeah.
Dylan
Just find yourself a challenger situation.
Shane
My significant other is so nice and so good at what he does. But, like, how TF Do I make him funny? He's so damn serious. And while I like that, I want him to crack a smile, can I just be honest? That is so much better than having someone that thinks they're funny and that they're not.
Dylan
They won't even crack a smile.
Shane
I mean, I'd rather them not if they're not.
Jake
What did she say in the beginning?
Shane
She's like, I love My partner.
Jake
Love the partner.
Shane
He's not funny at all.
Jake
He's not funny. Oh, that's tricky.
Shane
I mean, you can't fix that.
Jake
You can't change someone's personality.
Shane
You can't.
Jake
Yeah. My advice would genuinely be tickle him. Tickle your partner when he's least expecting it, when he's going to sleep, when his eyes are closed. Nice little tickle. You're rewiring his brain circuits and neurons to understand happiness and laughter. And I feel like if you do that enough, his neuropathways will merge to. To responding to situations with humor and laughter. That would be my advice. Tickle him.
Shane
Is that real?
Jake
No.
Shane
Okay. Okay. I prescribe veep because how could you not laugh?
Jake
Also good.
Dylan
Yeah. Or like, whatever. I mean, every. Also, everyone's sense of humor is subjective. So I feel like, what. What does she find funny? Like, is there something that she wants to show him that he hasn't seen before? That maybe he'll pick up on the humor and he'll start to have different bits. Different jokes. Like, if it's curb your enthusiasm, maybe he'll start to, like, have some funny bits or something.
Shane
You guys like curb?
Jake
Oh, my God. Curbs the best.
Dylan
That's like, my sense of humor.
Shane
Yeah, that.
Jake
In South Park.
Shane
South park was the first show I ever watched.
Jake
Wow. What episode you remember?
Shane
I think it was the one where they did World of Warcraft.
Jake
Fantastic. Yeah.
Shane
And then when they went to Casa Bonita, and then. God, I love South Park.
Jake
I once said that Trey Parker and Matt Stone are the London and McCartney of our generation.
Shane
You know, my parents were actually at the first.
Jake
The.
Shane
The party where South Park. Okay, well, like, I feel like this was like my. You know, when you hear something from your parents and then it just becomes, like, urban legend because you're like, I'm not gonna fact check this, but they were at a Christmas party and they. South park started as, like, a Christmas card.
Jake
That's right. Yeah.
Shane
Yeah, they were at. They were at that party where the South Park Christmas card was played. Whoa. Whoa. Yeah.
Dylan
So awesome.
Brayden
Legendary.
Shane
So I don't know if I'm lying, though.
Dylan
I don't think you are.
Shane
I don't think I am either.
Dylan
But that sounds like a very specific story to be lying.
Shane
Yes, but it's. So it started as a Christmas card and they were there.
Jake
So maybe show your boyfriend South Park.
Shane
Yeah, yeah. But it really is like, I just want this person to be super grateful that he isn't trying to be funny.
Dylan
That's a great point.
Shane
Like, someone that is trying to be funny and they're not. Like, what do you want me to do?
Jake
That's true.
Dylan
So then if he starts trying to be funny and it's not funny, just go back.
Shane
Like, if you're trying to be funny and you're not, you need to be self aware in the fact that you are not funny.
Dylan
True.
Jake
That's very true.
Dylan
Oh, yeah. It's painful.
Shane
It's painful. It's. It hurts.
Dylan
I'd much rather someone be just not funny.
Shane
Yeah.
Jake
Do you feel like your humor comes from a part of you don't really know or understand, or do you think you, like, formulate your humor? Like, is it. Is it more instinctual? Is it more like, I have something funny I want to say?
Brayden
Like, nature versus wow.
Shane
What a great question. I don't really know the difference.
Jake
Maybe same, I guess.
Shane
Like, I think. So whenever I have something funny I want to say, like, it becomes awkward. Like, if I'm, like, planning on saying something funny, like, it's not. Like, I just won a Webby Award and you're only allowed to do, like, five word speech. So my speech was, I want to say more. And, like, it came across, like, really horrible.
Jake
Okay. Okay.
Shane
Like, because, like, normally it'd be, like, it, like. Yeah. So I guess I'm more instinctual.
Jake
Yeah. I mean, I. I think I. I truly don't. Maybe people say that I'm funny or say things like, you're funny, that. Thank you. Like, it's funny. I don't think about trying to be.
Shane
I.
Jake
It's a weird thing. I don't try to be funny. So it's, like, Funny how?
Shane
It's just natural, I guess.
Jake
Like, I just.
Dylan
Maybe it's quick. Like, just drop a pun faster than.
Shane
You could have ever, really.
Jake
And sometimes. And sometimes. And you guys know this side of me, sometimes I'm not funny at all. I feel like these kind of situations maybe bring out something where I want to just say something because it's fun to just speak and have a good time, and it's fun and. But, yeah, I was just curious how you felt about that.
Shane
No, I think. I think it's more instinctual.
Jake
Like, me and my friend Kate have a bit where whenever we say something really funny, we say we couldn't write it. It's like, what we say because we're like, oh, dude, that was so. We definitely couldn't have just thought of that. We couldn't have, like, planned out what we just said. And so whenever we say something hilarious, we're like, oh, we couldn't write it.
Shane
I.
Jake
So it's interesting.
Shane
Yeah. I have that. Not a bit, but it's. I'll just, like, make my friends tell me I'm funny.
Jake
That's funny.
Shane
Yeah. Like. Like Julius Julia says, like. Like, you're gifted.
Dylan
You're funny.
Jake
I do think you're funny. There's. There's people that are naturally funny. Like Ryan Lee. Naturally funny guy.
Brayden
Funny guy.
Jake
So funny. It's funny. And then I guess there's people that don't smile.
Shane
Yeah.
Jake
And that's okay. Well, maybe not.
Shane
I have two friends who I feel bring out the worst in me. I would cut them off, but I don't have anyone else to fall back on. And I'm with them for parts of the day where it would be hard to ignore them. What should I do? I need help.
Dylan
I wonder if. I mean. Yeah, bring out the worst in her.
Shane
You just need to make new friends.
Dylan
Yeah. I mean, truly. I. I imagine it's like they're around them for certain parts of the day, so it's like school. I imagine it's probably school. You just don't need to be friends with people that bring out the worst in you.
Shane
Yeah. And your friendships will change over time. Like, it sounds like you're young.
Dylan
Yeah.
Shane
Unless they're your co workers. Like, oh, no. But, like, if you know what I mean. Like, friendships change, friendships go.
Dylan
It takes time and experience in life to, like, realize the people that were getting the worst out of you and, like, bringing the worst out of you. I mean, you don't realize it in the moment. So if she's able to recognize that, like, first up. Yeah, it's. It's. You just don't need to be friends with them.
Shane
I saw my ex at a party for the first time since our breakup. And because he lives far away, I let him sleep over at my place. You know where this story goes. And now I don't know what to do. We broke up because he cheated on me. But it has been eight months. Am I crazy?
Jake
It sounds like maybe you still like this guy. Is that what it sounds like to you?
Shane
Well, you know, it's. People are always looking for closure. I would prescribe Closure by Taylor Swift. And I would prescribe Tis the Damn Season by Taylor Swift.
Dylan
You got those good.
Jake
You got those goods.
Dylan
Yeah, thanks.
Brayden
Is it always a song?
Shane
Right now it is.
Dylan
Okay.
Shane
Right now it is.
Dylan
I think about what I would prescribe for one of these.
Shane
You look like you're lost in thought.
Jake
I am lost.
Dylan
There's no shame in, like, what you know. You know how the story goes. Sleeps over, like, whatever. If you. If you guys hook up after a breakup, whatever.
Shane
It happens.
Dylan
But so, no, you're not crazy. It doesn't matter.
Shane
Yeah.
Dylan
I don't think you wanted to do then all good. Like, even if. Even if they wronged you, I mean, maybe, like, don't let. Don't. You don't need to get back together with them. Because I think people tend to, like, repeat the same mistakes, especially the same person. But I think, like, why don't you.
Shane
Prescribe Same Old Mistakes by Tame Impala?
Jake
Fantastic.
Dylan
There you go.
Brayden
Nice. That's great.
Dylan
Yeah, I think it's fine.
Shane
And if you like Rihanna. The Rihanna cover.
Jake
That's right.
Dylan
Yeah.
Shane
This guy was hooking up with. Pulled out his vape and was hitting it during sex. Like, he couldn't even wait.
Dylan
Wow.
Shane
It Icked the out of me. But now we're in a situationship. I don't want to just leave. So what do I do? You gotta go.
Dylan
Yeah.
Shane
That's crazy.
Jake
Oh, that's pretty bad.
Shane
Yeah. I was once hooking up with this guy, and he also did that and.
Brayden
No.
Shane
Yeah. Yes. And ran around the bed. Do you remember, like, do you remember when people used to do that thing where they would, like. Yep. Louise. Yeah. Yeah.
Dylan
Like the dance.
Shane
Yes. When you would. When you would, like, kick your leg and go like.
Jake
Yeah.
Shane
Yes. And he ran around the bed and did that. I think he was. I think he was on drugs or something. And I sat there, like, naked, and I was like. I was like, am I. Is this. And he was, like, hitting his vape as he was doing.
Jake
That's. That sounds like a Nora.
Shane
And it was the craziest thing. And I was sitting there like. And I was like, that's incredible.
Jake
Geez.
Shane
And then. Yeah, it was pretty crazy that that happened, actually.
Dylan
You should date this guy.
Shane
I haven't seen him in years. And I was sitting there like, is this really happening to me right now?
Jake
Was it. Did. Did he have to. He had to pull away to have that happen.
Shane
Yes. Yes, yes, yes. He was running around going like this and being his babe. Wow. Wow.
Jake
I'm definitely. My mind's running wild.
Shane
I'm, like, not lying. This really happened to me.
Dylan
It sounds like this submission is mild in comparison.
Shane
Yes. Like.
Jake
Yes.
Brayden
Yeah. Is this your own question that you.
Shane
Yes. I just played it down. Yeah. I would leave him.
Jake
Yeah.
Dylan
Yeah. Not worth.
Jake
Yeah.
Dylan
Life of pain. Geez.
Jake
That's really, really funny.
Shane
My ex blocked me on everything a month ago because I wouldn't stop drunk calling him. Me, I don't have an ax. I'm gonna restart. I need to restart me. My ex blocked me on everything a month ago because I wouldn't stop drunk calling him. Last night I went out with my girls and got so drunk and venmoed him a dollar with the note, Please FaceTime me. He just texted me to off. I'm so embarrassed. What do I do? You are so. She is so creative.
Brayden
Yeah, the Venmo's really fun.
Shane
I've seen that happen before.
Dylan
Really?
Shane
Uh huh.
Dylan
I. Yeah. I've not had these experiences.
Jake
I mean, so. So. So she's the one that's drunk calling him once.
Shane
She's the problem.
Jake
I don't know. I mean, it sounds like maybe you got to find someone else.
Dylan
Yeah. Something. The simple answer is stop. Just try and stop.
Jake
Yeah.
Dylan
Block his number.
Jake
Block his. Yeah, just cold turkey him.
Shane
You know, I was once hooking up with this guy and I would text him so much that my friends had to change his name in my phone to a puzzle piece emoji, but jokes on them because I. And they deleted the text so I would never know. But I went on my computer and I found it.
Jake
Wow, that's hilarious.
Shane
He has a boyfriend.
Jake
I mean, one of my favorite stories I've heard recently is I have a friend. I'm not gonna name names. Who was with a new girl and her boyfriend was jealous. So he started sending.
Shane
Sorry.
Jake
So yeah, my. My friend was dating a girl.
Shane
Your friend was dating a girl.
Jake
And then her ex boyfriend was jealous. Was jealous.
Shane
Got it.
Jake
And he started sending Domino's Pizza to his house unpaid for. But like, said that, like, he would pay by cash. So every other day Domino's would come to his house and be like, okay, that'll be the 25 bucks. He's like, I didn't order a pizza.
Shane
So what do you do in that situation?
Jake
So he would tell them like, I didn't order this. And they'd be like, what? So then he had to call Domino's after, like, the third time. I called him once on the way home from like a show or something. I was like, hey, man, what's up? He's like, hey, dude, can I call you back? I was like, sure. He called me back. He's like, dude, sorry. I was dealing with Domino's. And I was like, what? And then he was like, yeah, I had to call them and say, like, put me on a band list. Like, he's like, never Deliver me pizzas to my house ever again. So he's currently.
Shane
Do you guys like Domino's?
Dylan
Yeah, why not?
Jake
You know what?
Shane
I don't love it.
Jake
I mean, I think love it. I think I don't love it. I think it's. It's okay. No, it's good super bowl food.
Dylan
Yeah. Or it's good. Like, it's good shitty pizza.
Jake
I don't know if I need a five course meal at the super bowl party.
Shane
Well, I'm from New York, so, like, I know, like, I know good pizza.
Jake
So even, like a Super bowl party occasion, you would have a good pizza.
Shane
Yeah. But you want to know something about me?
Jake
It's kind of fun.
Shane
Maybe I hate pizza.
Dylan
Oh, whoa. Oh, but you.
Brayden
But you.
Dylan
But you like Domino's.
Shane
No, I hate Domino's. Oh, like, Domino's is like. Like, we're not. Why you hate pizza? I hate pizza.
Jake
Do you hate bunnies?
Shane
No, I love bunnies.
Jake
Interesting. So what do you hate about pizza?
Shane
I don't know. Like, it's so unfulfilling. Whoa. Like, I'd rather have pasta. No.
Jake
Do you hate the taste of pizza or you hate the idea of pizza?
Shane
What do you think it is, Louise, for sure. The idea of pizza. Wow. Yeah, right? I mean, yeah, but it's like, I'm. Like, I'm gonna feel like, after and.
Jake
Okay, fair.
Shane
That's. I love pasta, too.
Jake
What's the difference? Couldn't you put. Could you put pizza in, like, a rigatoni and call it pasta?
Shane
Don't make me sick to my stomach.
Jake
Don't.
Shane
You know what I hate more than. Do you know what I hate more than anything in the entire world?
Jake
Is it rigatoni?
Shane
Baked fucking ziti.
Jake
Baked fucking ziti.
Shane
Baked ziti deserves a special place in hell.
Jake
Is it like an Olive Garden dish?
Dylan
No, it's like a lasagna kind of.
Jake
It's.
Shane
Don't give it that.
Dylan
Do you like lasagna?
Shane
I don't mind.
Jake
I don't like lasagna. I don't like.
Dylan
Really?
Jake
And I don't like pierogies.
Shane
Oh, okay. Like pierogies. I like pierogies.
Jake
They're so. Just not good. It's like. Like, they're, like, moist and I understand that.
Dylan
I'm into everything we're talking about currently.
Shane
You guys like Chinese food?
Jake
Oh, yeah.
Shane
I'm getting dim sum tomorrow in San Francisco because I have a show and they have the best in some in the country.
Dylan
Which one, please?
Shane
I forget. Where'd we go? Louise, will you. It was the best dim sum I've ever, ever had in my life.
Dylan
Are you gonna have more than one meal there?
Shane
Yeah. Why, you have a wreck?
Jake
Yeah, there's a lot of wrecks.
Shane
What?
Dylan
Well, they're one of my favorite restaurants. There's three or four of them in the Bay Area in general. But there's a place called Burma Superstar.
Shane
Burma Superstar.
Dylan
Burmese food. But then there's also, like. Like, it's the same thing, basically. It's called Burma Love. It's the same owners, but so it's Burma Superstar. Burma Love. Whatever would be closer to you. Really incredible. Really incredible food. It's. It's from. Yeah, it's food from Burma, which is, you know, like a little country in Asia, but okay. Really good. And then, like, if you want, like a. Or just like a quick, light, like, Mediterranean type. I don't mind salad or wrap, like, from a place called Suvla. And they have amazing Greek yogurt.
Brayden
Yogurt there.
Dylan
They have amazing Greek yogurt. They put baklava on it.
Shane
Oh, yummy.
Dylan
Yeah, it's amazing. Yeah, there's other places, but those are really good.
Shane
Are you ready for the final? Tell me what's wrong?
Jake
Correct. Wow.
Shane
And then, everybody, I need you to start thinking now. What did we learn today? Because I'm gonna ask you that, and I need an answer from everyone. Okay?
Dylan
Okay.
Shane
Okay. Is that your, like, thinking vibe?
Jake
Oh, yeah. I don't know.
Shane
I'm reading this fantasy book series, and the book boyfriend is the hottest man to literally ever exist list. I've had a boyfriend for two years, and now I'm comparing him to this fictional guy who I'm actually obsessed with. It's not healthy. I need a prescription. Grass.
Dylan
Yeah, that's the earth. Grass is a good grass. I don't think you put it perfectly.
Shane
Yeah, grass, Grass.
Jake
You need grass.
Dylan
For real.
Shane
Okay, you guys, what did we learn today?
Jake
First thing I thought of is that you don't like pizza.
Shane
Yeah, I don't.
Dylan
It's crazy.
Jake
That's cool.
Dylan
I learned that we're best friends now.
Shane
I. Me, too. I learned that, too.
Dylan
New best friend.
Shane
Yes. And we're about to have a group chat.
Dylan
We're about to have a group chat. There's so much more to talk about.
Shane
I know. We have so much more to talk about.
Brayden
What did you say earlier that I was like. I didn't know that you said something earlier that I want to remember.
Dylan
I forgot the Braden Said.
Shane
Oh, I know what it was.
Brayden
Do you know what I'm saying? Yeah, you said Something good that I didn't know about.
Shane
Out tickling?
Jake
No.
Brayden
Well, that was good.
Shane
Yeah, that was.
Brayden
I learned to just tickle them.
Shane
Yeah. Tickle them. I learned that you, like, love Greek yogurt. Whole milk. Whole milk, three times a day.
Jake
Yeah.
Shane
Siggies.
Brayden
Siggies. And we will watch Glee.
Jake
Oh, yes, we will.
Shane
We will. We will.
Jake
Yes.
Shane
What'd you learn? Did you already say what you learned?
Dylan
I said, I learned that we're best friends.
Shane
