Jimmy
Welcome to another midweek, boys Only of the only podcast matters. Fucking on and getting silly with Jimmy and Larry. Post Maddie an hour 45 with the most stoked man in media food. I don't know what he is. He's a. He's a Virgil Abloh food.
Larry
He's the most stoked man alive, dude. He's a white Virgil and that stoke is infectious.
Jimmy
I know you were catching that Maddie fever.
Larry
Larry. Maddie back at it again. Let's get to a fit check though.
Jimmy
First up, Lawrence, what are you wearing?
Larry
I am wearing Margiela gats. The socks are Manresa. The double knees are vintage car heart. The T shirt is Mountain Hardware. Stussy. One of my favorite collabs every year
Jimmy
as a corp guy.
Larry
As a guy who was very much in love with Mountain Hardware brand when I was in college. Super popular where I went to school. So why? I don't know. I think it's, you know, I feel like Patagonia. Well, obviously like, you know, is huge and popular across the nation. I feel like is maybe at least on the east coast. That feels like an above the Mason Dixon line thing. And then below the Mason Dixon line feels like a Mount Mountain Hardware territory because that's. I didn't even know it existed until I went to school in North Carolina.
Jimmy
Well, Mountain Hardware was in the 90s, 2000, like along with like North Face Columbia. Mountain Hardware was kind of like helly, helly, Helly. Henson was always kind of like in that realm of like or you know, mountaineering gear that was like kind of co opted by like urban fashion.
Larry
What Writers, graffiti guys.
Jimmy
Yeah. And also just like. Sure, yeah. And what Graph. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So it was always, I don't know, it was always like an east coast thing. So to me it's more like an east coast west coast link up, I don't think.
Larry
Yeah, maybe.
Jimmy
To me it's weird that it was like a southern south of Mason Dixon.
Larry
I didn't know it existed until I went to school.
Jimmy
Patagonies where you developed or school colleges where you developed. You're like frat boy banker. Yeah, like the woven belts, Patagonia barbers, Columbia fishing gear, shirts, barbers, a lot of stuff.
Larry
Wallabies. Yeah. I don't know, it's funny the. The gorp that I was Exposed to, obviously. I didn't know it was called gore, but it wasn't worn in a way that even feels remote. The mountain hardware that I remember from in college was never, like worn in the way that, like, people would wear, you know, I don't know. Stucy Mountain hardware now either way, one of my favorite collabs. I feel like it flies under the radar. And from the TE's to the outerwear, accessories, just. I love that link up.
Jimmy
Yeah. You get in the tent.
Larry
No. You know, camping. You could not pay me to go camping. Do you camp the you talking about. But you love.
Jimmy
But you love the mountain hardware.
Larry
All right. Oh, dude, I'm wearing it completely performatively. I mean, maybe in the gym, you know, there's like. They make great performance stuff. We can both attest to that.
Jimmy
Yeah.
Larry
Yeah, that's true. That is a fact.
Jimmy
Good for. Good for the treadmill.
Larry
Good for sweating while throwing plates.
Jimmy
You sweat while you throw plates.
Larry
Well, I'm. I'm doing a new thing. I guess fitness was big on the Maddie pot. So I'll just do. So basically when I'm in the gym and I'm alone in my building, I turn the AC off and make sure that all the windows are closed and I just like hot box it out and just really sweat through it. I like that adds. It's a. It's adding as a guy who doesn't really sweat, it adds a real nice vigorous element.
Jimmy
Why don't you wear a garbage bag?
Larry
I honestly probably should, dude. For my hot girl walks. Moving on up. The hat is Raul's merch and the underwear are supreme Hanes. And my sunglasses are sun buddies. James.
Jimmy
The shoes are our legache. The socks are Amazon. The shorts are Jean Erica. The mesh shirt because it is spicy outside. I don't know. You're wearing pants. Is stussy.
Larry
Your nipples.
Jimmy
Thank you, Emily Dawn. Long shells our legacy. Morocco thistles. Boxers are hanes. All right, let's get into the meat and potatoes. Can you catch you up with the bear? I have not watched in season two and I kind of was like felt bad while talking to Maddie about it and like, was hoping I wouldn't expose my whole ass. I have not watched the bear since episode two of season two. What has happened? Where are we? Did they open the restaurant? What's going on? Did Carmy set get over his of his dead brother? Yeah.
Larry
What?
Jimmy
Apparently. Is the dead brother back? I keep seeing Bernthal and all the promotional materials. What the. Is he a ghost? What's going on?
Larry
He's not a ghost. They're flashbacks episodes. What happened in the Bear, Seasons two through four? Yeah, I. They did open the restaurant the Bear. Cool food.
Jimmy
Like is it Danish?
Larry
It's, it's like it feels like high end American.
Jimmy
All right.
Larry
There's a whole dessert program because of Lionel Boyce. And the last thing that happened when it ended season, he quit. He's quitting is where we're at. Carm Karm is quitting because he, everyone he thinks in his, you know, fucked up broken mind and heart and soul that like everyone is better off without him. So he's like he's quitting and he's leaving IO holding the bag. And then.
Jimmy
Is she still wearing Tom Brown?
Larry
Are they still wearing tb?
Jimmy
She just her specifically. Was it just her? Oh.
Larry
Cause he gifted her. It was like the gift.
Jimmy
I don't know any viral pieces of clothing like the Mirsby schwann or the NN07 jacket or the redline Levi. Levi's from the, from the pilot episode.
Larry
That's actually, you know, it's so funny. That was such a narrative specifically in our place when the show started. I don't even think that like a part of the show really anymore, which is kind of cuz that was a. That was massive.
Jimmy
I live in though. He's a little Easter eg that got blown up into out of proportion on like our little strange up corner of the Internet.
Larry
Yeah, yeah, I guess. Yeah you're right. It felt big relative to to our space yet. But in reality nothing I I besides the Tom Brown chef's shirt as like a gift in whatever season that was, there hasn't been like a. Oh, that's right. The guy who created the bear, Chris Thor and the guys that work on the bear like Matty Matheson love clothes and there's like Easter eggs. I could not tell you.
Jimmy
What about cuz wearing suits now that
Larry
he's a Matrix D. Oh sure.
Jimmy
His now he's foh.
Larry
Yeah cousins suits are pretty mid. He likes to do a dark suit, dark shirt deal. I think that like has to do with his role as Matri D. But Maddie facts character Neil is going crazy because I would imagine that's like Maddie picking out like cool suits for the character. He's crushing. But you know what they're having really nothing viral for sure.
Jimmy
Do you like it? Is it good?
Larry
It's.
Jimmy
Is it hilarious? It's a comedy.
Larry
I watched the bear and I am seated and I'm still locked in. I think that the show it's just it just got really, really, really serious. Season three, I think, was funny and fun. And then four, I think for the most recent one, it's just like. It's just heavy, man. It's just like fucking heavy. And I would rather laugh personally.
Jimmy
That's what he's saying. How many stars? What's the TV letter box? What's the scale on TV boxed?
Larry
Are we behind the paywall?
Jimmy
Yeah.
