Torre
What are you even attracted to? What do you. What do you go for?
Snoop Dogg
Well, I'm. I'm definitely someone that likes, you know, I would say a slim thick. Okay, I like a slim thick. You know what I mean? But more than anything, just good, good person, just a genuine person. Someone who likes what they likes. A great listener, you know what I mean? And somebody that's just honest. It's very simple for me, you know, it has to be, because it's difficult online. You know what I mean? They could be showing you one thing and it could be a whole other thing.
Torre
If she says, I am unaware of your musical career on our first or second date, is that like a killer or is that like. Yes?
Snoop Dogg
I don't know if it's like a yes, because then it's like you might not understand the real full capacity of what I bring to the table. You know what I mean? It's not a deal breaker.
Torre
But if she's like, I was so into your music, you know, whatever you like.
Snoop Dogg
It depends on. It depends on how she. You know what I'm saying?
Torre
If she was a fan, it's. It's hard.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, it's hard. It's hard because, you know, as, as a, as a man, you don't want to be, like, too romanticized and fantasized because sometimes, you know, you. You can't live up to that expectation. You know what I'm saying?
Torre
Interesting. Interesting.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah. Detour ratio.
Omarion
Okay, though.
Snoop Dogg
The tour ratio. Okay, though.
Torre
That might be the best question I've ever been asked.
Snoop Dogg
You's a phenomenal person. I mean, you. Legendary. I am a fan of you.
Omarion
My brother.
Torre
Omarion is one of the great singer, actor, dancers of his time. We had an amazing conversation about everything from being a kid in inglewood to joining B2K to going solo. The movies, meditation, children, all the things. Let's get into it. It's Omarion on tour.
Snoop Dogg
Omarion, yes, indeed. How are you, man? I am excellent. I am excellent.
Torre
So I wanna touch base on the last time we did an interview, things went a little nuts, and we actually never talked about it. From your perspective.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
This might have been 20 some years ago.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
I was at BET, and I was doing a entertainment interview show, and there was a prank show that was blowing up on the network. So all the other shows were like, well, we have to respond to their feet. So we were like, okay, Omarion and Bow wow are coming in. Cause y'all were a unit.
Snoop Dogg
Yes, yes.
Torre
So I will pretend to not know who you are and be. Who was I? I don't even remember who I was pretending to think you were. Another singer.
Snoop Dogg
Yes, it was. It was another singer.
Torre
And. And you knew that I was lying, Right, right, right. But he didn't know, and I don't know why he didn't pick up on it. And before we could pull out the chair or whatever, he got up and was like, fuck this. And then he turned to his bodyguard and was like, get him.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, man.
Torre
But the thing is that BET shelved it, Obviously. We were like, we're kidding. We're kidding. BET shelved it. Bow wow. And y'all put it out on your video.
Snoop Dogg
We did.
Torre
Yeah. So that's how the world found out about it.
Snoop Dogg
That's right. That's right.
Torre
And Bow Wow and I talked about it later, and he was like, I'm sorry. I overreacted, and was like, yeah, yeah, yeah, I understand. But what was. What was that for you? Cause it did turn into a bit of a. Yeah. Back and forth kerfluffle for a minute.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah. I mean, if I could think back all the way back then, I just really felt like I was in the middle of something that I felt like, I understand, but I didn't understand, you know, because, you know, at that particular time, Bow was, like, kind of taken up for me, but it's like. Like I could take up for myself. You know what I mean? So it was weird. And then, you know, you were like, trying to let us know that it was a prank and not to take it so personal. And then it just. It just kind of went on. But that was something at the time that I was going through a lot with him. That happened with Jermaine, too. You know, when we were making that.
Torre
What do you mean?
Snoop Dogg
When we were making that album, that joint venture album, you know, he kind of had. He. He got into it with. With Jermaine, too, and he was like, come on, O. You know what I mean? I was like, well, I rolled with you. I guess I gotta leave too. You know, kind of just in the middle.
Torre
Y'all were having a hard time, I think.
Snoop Dogg
I think he was having a hard time. He was having a hard time just, you know, and rightfully so at that particular time. We had been, you know, waiting in the studio for Jermaine to produce something for, like, I want to say, like, four or five days. And I think that, you know, Bow was just beyond his. His patient level, you know what I mean? So he just this. You ain't produced one song, Jermaine. He was like, what? He like, yo, man, what are we doing here? We not. You know, we had. Did a couple of songs, but that was pretty much it at the time. Jermaine had only maybe, like, worked on one or two songs.
Torre
Run me back to the beginning. Is it that? Well, did you first start to go, I'm a good singer or I'm a good dancer?
Snoop Dogg
I've never asked myself either of those questions because, you know, when I was introduced to the world, those things worked hand in hand, you know what I mean?
Torre
When B2K, they're 1, they're 1.
Snoop Dogg
For you, they're 1, they're one.
Torre
You love them equally.
Snoop Dogg
Yes.
Torre
And you're equally talented as one is. You got to be a little bit better at one than other.
Snoop Dogg
I don't know. I think that, you know, maybe some people may view it like that. I think that, you know, when you have multiple talents, there's maybe things that you can grow in. You know what I mean? But when you're grabbing a mic and you're singing and dancing, they go hand in hand.
Torre
It's all together.
Snoop Dogg
So, I mean, even though I will say that, like, my mom is a dancer, so I would say that's probably my natural go to. You know what I mean? But every child star goes through a transitional period where their voices change. You know what I'm saying?
Torre
Well, what is a moment or a green light or something that led you to say, oh, I'M really good at this. To where we could go and get a deal and be like the people on TV and be a recording artist.
Snoop Dogg
I don't know if I've ever came into that realization, because when I started, I was literally 13 years old. You know what I mean? So I don't think people view kids as. Is this what you want to do? You know, this is kind of like, if the talent speaks for itself, then it goes places. And, you know, my talent spoke and it took me places.
Torre
So it happened to you?
Snoop Dogg
Yes, and for me. Yeah, and for me.
Torre
But, like, you showed your talent and adults were like, he could do this.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
And you're like, okay, okay. Yeah.
Snoop Dogg
I mean, I'm like, I want to do that. That's something that I want to do. Not you can do this. Okay, okay. But more like, do you want to do this? Is this, you know, your calling? How passionate are you about this? You know, I mean. And yeah, I made that decision very early on.
Torre
How did B2K come together?
Snoop Dogg
So there was this group called Melodic, and they had two other members in it. And I remember going to this particular house that a lot of artists used to go to back in the day called the Colfax House. You know, that's the first time that I met Destiny Chow. That's the first time we performed for them as well as B2K. And I remember my play aunt invited me over to this house for a New Year's party. And the other three members, they performed, they let, like, did this dance number and I was like, oh, they dope, you know what I mean? And then I performed and then I hit my backflip, you know what I'm saying? Then after I hit my backflip, they was like, nah, you gotta be the lead singer of the group. You know what I mean? So that's how that went. And then, yeah, we would just train, you know what I mean? Every time someone came through the door, we would perform. From that point on, we kind of, like created our bond and got prepared to get pitched for these record companies.
Torre
Yeah. Like, what. What made y'all special? That it. That it worked so well? Because there's a lot of people.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
With talent who are trying to get that, but y'all made an imprint. Like, why did y'all win?
Snoop Dogg
I feel like it was a. It was. It was a lot of factors, you know, one being, you know, it was we. We all aesthetically look, you know, nice young men, too light skinned, too dark skinned, you know, or fair skin, brown skin. I had a unique voice. You know, there weren't, you know, I. I didn't particularly have, like, the typical Michael. You know, my voice was a little deeper or, you know, Mr. Telephone Man. Like, I didn't have that high, squeaky voice. And also the backflip, you know, we had so much energy. Like, literally, you know, any place we would walk in, you know, we took over the place.
Torre
Who do you sing like? And I mean, like, who did you listen to? Cause you're like, I wasn't Mike.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
I wasn't. This. Not Prince.
Snoop Dogg
Who.
Torre
But who were you? Who would you listen to? You're like, I want to be like him.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah. So it's a few singers. Some people may not know know them, but if I'm thinking, like, mainstream, like Charlie Wilson.
Torre
Okay.
Snoop Dogg
You know, Frankie Beverly Mays, you know, more baritone, first tenor, like, sound. This other. One of my other favorite singers, Eric Dawkins, it was in a gospel group. Yeah. Who else? Fred Hammond.
Torre
Okay.
Snoop Dogg
You know what I mean? Yeah. People like that. I model my music Soul Child.
Torre
Okay.
Snoop Dogg
You know what I'm saying? That. That. That just different kind of raspy tone voice. So.
Torre
Yes.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, that's. That's who I would compare my voice to.
Torre
So, you know, y'all made a record with Puff, right? At that period when there's a lot of noise about lawsuits about. You did.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah. Did.
Torre
Did he say anything? Did anything happen when y'all were. Cuz that was huge. Huge. That was your biggest record, right?
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, that was. That was with B2K. Yeah. That was our. That was our first real big hit.
Torre
Yeah.
Snoop Dogg
You know what I mean? And R. Kelly wrote that song. Yeah. Yeah. So, you know, we. We were. We were in the midst of. And, you know, it's a bittersweet thing, you know, because sometimes, you know, people receive blessings in. In a very strange way from, you know, maybe things that are not agreeable, you know, and it's a strange things to be able to look at to. Because, you know, for. For. For a period of time, you know, like, I didn't even want to, like, perform that. That record, you know, just based off of, you know, what was being said and what, you know, what happened. You know, I'm like, hold up. I don't want to associate myself with that. I don't. You know, I don't believe in making people suffer or whatever. Whatever you had going on. You know what I mean? But it. You know, I cannot lie and say it wasn't a. It wasn't one of the biggest blessings for Us as a group.
Torre
Yeah, yeah. But you didn't answer my question.
Snoop Dogg
What was.
Torre
Did he say or.
Snoop Dogg
Oh, no, we were kids, man.
Torre
Some kids who, who did. Yes. Yeah, allegedly.
Snoop Dogg
Okay, okay. Yeah. I mean, when we first met him, it was on set, you know, and it was in a professional capacity. And he's never, he never went sideways with you? Nah, nah, I don't have any stories, you know what I'm saying? But, you know, I will also say that, you know, people are innocent until proven guilty. And, you know, there has been a major, you know, I guess I would say an attack on a lot of successful, you know, black men in this industry. Now I will say, you know, like what Jay Z just went through, you know what I mean? Like, people, people. I've seen this since I've been born, you know, even with one of my favorite singers, Michael Jackson, you know, I mean, it's very hard to know what to believe sometimes.
Torre
Did you watch the Michael Jackson documentary?
Snoop Dogg
I did, I did see a little bits and pieces of it.
Torre
You didn't watch the whole thing?
Snoop Dogg
No, I don't watch the whole thing. And no disrespect to, you know, any people that have been, you know, touched or, you know, but yeah, it's, it's hard, it's hard to, it's hard to, I guess, figure out what side you want when you're inside of the sides. You know, I'm inside this industry, I know how gross it is. I know a lot of gross people in this industry. But then I also know a lot of great people in this industry and a lot of people that, you know, don't cause people harm and want to help people, you know what I mean? So it's kind of a double edged sword that sometimes as a, as a person, you know, you don't want to until you get all the facts. You don't want to like, stand on the side, you know what I mean?
Torre
What happened to B2K?
Snoop Dogg
I think a few things, you know, we all were growing in different places, you know what I mean? And I think that, yeah, it was just, you know, being young, you know what I mean, having our own ideas. I think that, I think also, you know, just not always having the right representation and people around you, you know what I mean? Just as far as business and things like that, you know what I mean? Like, like I said, we were kids, you know what I mean?
Torre
When, I mean, you clearly, you came from a different. They were together and you were pulled in. Yeah, I think you were saying, like you had A different level of talent. You were clearly, like, the leader of the group from day one.
Snoop Dogg
Are you thinking everybody brought, you know, their vibes to the table?
Torre
For sure. For sure, yeah. Are you thinking, well, if this doesn't work, I can just go solo? Were you not thinking that is the next level of this game?
Snoop Dogg
No, not necessarily. It was, at that particular time, not my intention to go solo.
Torre
You preferred to be in a group?
Snoop Dogg
Well, I mean, that's just what it was. It wasn't something that we discussed. I think that it started to come into the conversation once we all put out Pandemonium and we had our separate group covers, like, when you could buy your favorite group member cover. So I think we all started kind of getting. And then, you know, one of the other group members was offered, like, a solo deal. So I think everybody was getting into their own bag. You know, I think a little bit of that, too. But I. I would really, you know, looking back on it, because it was so long ago, you know, looking back on it, it just was. It was the process. It was all of our process of, you know, maturing and figuring out, you know, where we all fit in this game, because things just don't stay the same. Things always change. So you have to, you know, be a master of change. And, you know, going solo was a part of my transformation, because it wasn't. It wasn't something that I was necessarily thinking about at that particular time. But it happened, and it happened for me in such a major way. You know, my first album was number one, my song, number one, you know, so I was able to transfer that energy into my own. So it's good parts and it's bad parts. You know what I'm saying?
Torre
What? I mean, I think the other. Well, I think. I think the good parts of being solo versus being a group are fairly clear. Right.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
I'm a leader. I could do what I want.
Snoop Dogg
I can hold myself accountable for whatever happens.
Torre
Well, there's that, like. Yeah, what are the. That's the cons of being solo. Right. It falls on me.
Snoop Dogg
I love that. You know, I feel like as an artist, you have to take a certain level of responsibility for what you put out there. That's just.
Torre
Do you feel, like, pressure?
Snoop Dogg
Not necessarily. I mean, pressure makes, you know, diamonds. So pressure is a part of the process, but it's just not the one that I tend to focus on. That's, like, a part of the process.
Torre
Like, I did a show where I was part of a group, and the executive producer used to tell us. If you should get it to be just you, you know that it rises and falls on you and you can never say, well, we failed. And it's like whether or not they like you. So that becomes a different conversation with your audience.
Snoop Dogg
For sure. For sure, for sure. I never felt that pressure. I never felt that pressure for a few reasons, but mainly because I was giving my all in everything, in every aspect. Whatever capacity it was, I was okay with whatever the outcome was, that I did my best. And that's how I moved through life.

So you get to the stage of your life where you're on the reality show.
Snoop Dogg
Yes.
Torre
Do you, do you look back on that and say I shouldn't have done that or I should have done that.
Snoop Dogg
Or no, I never, I never look back in and regret the things because I'm like always intentional with my choices. The reason why I did love and Hip I was a few reasons. One reason was at that particular time I was signed to Atlantic and they weren't really supporting my song that I just put out which was supposed to be, which is six time platinum now. So I was maturing in the game differently as the game was changing because you know, I was watching, you know, certain budgets be allocated and you know, given to some of the newer artists that were coming in there. So I had to, you know, call an audible and the audible was being somewhere that, you know, my audience can grow and learn more about me. So being on Loving Hip Hop allowed Posta Beat to be as big as it was.
Torre
Right, right. Were you not part of a moment in the industry when budgets were coming down?
Snoop Dogg
Right.
Torre
And the industry was, like, struggling to deal with the rise of streaming?
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, I mean, that's still happening today, for sure. It's not fair, but yeah, yeah, yeah.
Torre
So that, I mean, you were just as, like, part of a historical current that you're part of that, like, has a direct effect on your career, period.
Snoop Dogg
You know, like, as an artist, you have to find other ways to promote your music, you know, Now I'm into licensing deals. I'm into not just having a song on the radio, but placing my songs in other places that can grow. And I wasn't thinking about that back then.
Torre
Was the show. Show was good for your career? Clearly. Was it bad for your relationship?
Snoop Dogg
I don't know if I would say it was bad. I would say that it definitely was. Became a lot more challenging because the.
Torre
Show made the relationship more challenging.
Snoop Dogg
For sure, for sure.
Torre
Because why?
Snoop Dogg
Because, you know, you never really know what people, who people become after they get the lion shot on Shine on Them, you know what I mean? Because, you know, I remember, you know, maybe it was a few followers that she had, you know, but after the TV show, you know, a million followers, that does something to you, you know what I'm saying?
Torre
So you feel like she changed as she became known?
Snoop Dogg
Well, what I would say is, is we all change. That's a part of the process, you know what I mean? I would say that the change may be, you know, at point in times of our relationship, it has affected her maybe in a negative way, you know, or in a way that, you know, is maybe difficult to deal with, you know what I'm saying? As far as expectation goes, because once you get bit by the fame bug and by the, you know, acknowledgement bug, and I'm seeing bug, you know, you.
Torre
Need it more, I need it again.
Snoop Dogg
And sometimes you might end up in places where, you know what I mean? Maybe you don't need to be there.
Torre
When you look back on that relationship. Do you think the show is a critical part to why it ended?
Snoop Dogg
I would say not a critical part. I would say definitely played a role because I'm an entertainer, you know, and this is my life, and this has been my life. So anyone, you know, that I'm with to a degree has to be able to understand, you know, what I do and how it potentially may affect them. Now I'm an adult now, you know what I mean? So I'M completely private in my life when it comes to that. You know, just easier that way.
Torre
You wouldn't do another reality show.
Snoop Dogg
Never.
Torre
Yeah.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah. And also at that time, the reality TV space wasn't as convoluted as it is today. Now we know there's fake stories. It still felt like authentic moments. And so at the time, you know, I was maturing myself with my audience, you know, that was very intentional because I was having my first child, so I was showing my audience, like, hey, y'all, I'm becoming a father now. It's time to grow up. You know, so that was intentional. I felt like, for me, because I was intentional with that space, I was able to get the most that I could, but I could never revisit it because, you know, I don't want to be in spaces where I have no connection with, you know, this cast member and they want us to be together because. And then, you know, the whole monopoly. If you're only in X amount of scenes and you get paid this. It's just. It's just horrible. It's. It's not, you know, as far as you being used for your time and your talent in your life for a storyline, like, it becomes more stressful. You know, one thing that I experienced that I. I know a lot of people don't think about, you know, when they're doing reality tv is like, you might shoot in February, and the show don't come out till November. So now you have to relo. Live what you was going through in February, in November, online, you know what I'm saying? And, you know, when you move on from things, you just be like, I want to deal with that. That's some. I'm not. You know what I mean? So, yeah, reality TV isn't for me. Yeah, it's not for me.
Torre
No, I feel you. I feel you. So we're not gonna date on camera game. But obviously there is dating, of course, in your life. Away from women, the lights.
Snoop Dogg
I love women.
Torre
What is that like? As somebody who is known to challenging. Yeah. How is that? Yeah. What. What is that about?
Snoop Dogg
It's very challenging. But I, you know, I take full responsibility for my own vibration and what I vibrate towards. You know, I'm a father of two, so I really have the love in its best form, in its purest form. So I'm not someone that's, like, seeking for a better half or, you know, I do enjoy a muse or two, you know, I mean, someone to inspire me, not just even on a physical level. But, you know, especially on a mental level, on a psychological and a spiritual level. That's why I really love women. Because, you know, if you come across the white right woman, she can truly inspire you to be better. But as far as right now, you know, I'm first generational wealth builder, so I'm focusing on continuing to build my legacy and, you know, the things that I leave behind, for sure.
Torre
And we're going to talk about that.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
But you on an app?
Snoop Dogg
Nah.
Torre
No.
Snoop Dogg
Hell no.
Torre
You beat people in the real world?
Snoop Dogg
I have to. I thought that on an app. That's wild. I would never do that to myself. That's crazy.
Torre
I don't. There's no disrespect in beating on an app nowadays. And there's apps for stars.
Snoop Dogg
Apps for stars? What app is this?
Torre
Isn't it Raya? Isn't Raya for, like, superstar men?
Snoop Dogg
No. I'm gonna have to check that out.
Torre
No, Isn't that. Isn't that the one?
Snoop Dogg
I ain't even heard of that.
Torre
Okay, all right.
Snoop Dogg
You gonna have to tell me about that one. I never heard of that. So what are these women like? What are these women? How do.
Torre
I mean, the story. I only heard about it.
Snoop Dogg
Okay, okay.
Torre
You Google as much as I know about it.
Snoop Dogg
Okay, okay.
Torre
This where the superstar guys are, and then the sort of women that they might be interested in are, you know, nothing about R. Nobody ever told you. Are you dating and no one ever told you? Check. Ryan. Yeah.
Snoop Dogg
No, I gotta go to the grocery store and get my groceries myself.
Torre
You don't instacart?
Snoop Dogg
Nah. I mean, I might slide a little here and there, but. Nah, the net is too wild. The net is too wild for me. It's too wild for me. Like I said, I mean, you know, have a little conversation or two.
Torre
The one thing I understand, because I see all these videos and. And it seems like millennial and younger, it's all meeting online. Meeting in the wild, as the phrase. This is like rare and spray. But, like, if you go up to a woman in the wild, you don't know if she's available at all times.
Snoop Dogg
She not.
Torre
Right. But most times she's not. But online, she's at least let you know I am available Now. I don't. I don't want to date you. I don't want to, but I am. Right. You're not barking up the wrong tree.
Snoop Dogg
Exactly.
Torre
So it is. But you're like, no, I just do. So you just. What do you. What are you even attracted to? What do You. What do you go for?
Snoop Dogg
Well, I'm. I'm definitely someone that likes, you know, I would say a slim, thick.
Torre
Okay.
Snoop Dogg
I like a slim, thick.
Torre
Okay.
Snoop Dogg
You know, I mean, but more than anything, just good. Good person, just a genuine person. Someone who likes what they likes. A great listener. You know what I mean? And somebody that's just honest. It's very simple for me, you know, it has to be, because it's difficult online. You know what I mean? They could be showing you one thing, and it could be a whole other thing.

Torre
But if she's like, I was so into your music, you know, whatever you like.
Snoop Dogg
It depends on. It depends on how she. You know what I'm saying?
Torre
If she was a fan. It's hard.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, it's hard. It's hard because, you know, as. As a. As a man, you don't want to be, like, too romanticized and f. Romanticized, because sometimes, you know, you can't live up to that expectation.
Torre
You know what I'm saying? Interesting.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah. You don't want to be with a girl, and she's like, a super fan, and then it's like, you know, I remember this one time I hung out with this girl, and, you know, just from our conversation, you know, I was like. I was cool, and she was like, you're not taking me upstairs. Like, what, are you, gay? And I'm like, what the fuck? Just because I don't want to have sex with you. I'm gay now. I'm cool. Have a good night. You know what I'm saying? So that's the expectation sometimes. So I, like, you know, I tread light, you know, I ask questions. I'm very inquisitive.
Torre
What do you. What do you ask?
Snoop Dogg
It depends, you know. On what? On which gathering. You know, if it's the first gathering or the second gathering.
Torre
I love. You said gathering. Yeah.
Snoop Dogg
You know what I mean? Because a date. What is a date? Come on. Come on.
Torre
But so how's a gathering different than a date?
Snoop Dogg
Because it's like, there is no expectation. We can gather in the park. We can gather at a great restaurant. We can. It's no. You know, a date kind of puts you in this mood of like a wine and dying type of situation. So that's why I use the word gathering.
Torre
For sure, for sure.
Snoop Dogg
You know what I mean? But the questions that I normally ask are like, you know, what's your purpose in life? You know, I mean, where do you see yourself in five years? You know, how is your relationship with your family? You know, like when you ask this on first dates? Fuck yeah. I'm not, I don't got no time to play. I don't have no time to play with someone that just not in tune with themselves emotionally, you know, and also someone that can't articulate themselves. So I'm not playing with no little girls, you know what I mean? I can't. That's. They cute, you know, you can have fun with them, you can sweat it out, you know what I'm saying?
Torre
But is there a preferred age range for you?
Snoop Dogg
A preferred. I don't know if, I don't know if I figured out what my preferred is because I've, you know, girls are fairly mature in appearance. You. You can't, you can't really know if they're emotionally intelligent unless you get into a situation with them, you know what I mean? So I would say, I would say between, like maybe the youngest I could go is like 28.
Torre
Okay.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, 28 to. Between 28 and like. Yeah, like maybe 47. You agree?
Torre
You, you. Okay, yeah. You dated 47 year old?
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
Okay.
Snoop Dogg
For sure. I love me some older women. Okay. Yeah, yeah. Nah. Hey, they got some things to show you.
Torre
100%.
Snoop Dogg
I'm pretty low.
Torre
100%. Does she have to be vegan?
Snoop Dogg
I guess not in the beginning, you.
Torre
Know, but we gotta become vegan.
Snoop Dogg
Well, I don't, I wouldn't say vegan. I just would say a little bit more health conscious, you know, because you are what you eat, you know what I mean? And I think to a degree, you know, we kind of like all follow certain diets and our bodies are differently. So I really would just say this is more of a health conscious thing, you know what I mean? Like, I definitely can't deal with nobody who eat pork, you know what I'm saying? Somebody who eat pork and eat like certain other things. I'm, you know.
Torre
What other things?
Snoop Dogg
I don't know. I see all kind of wild stuff online, you know, Bear, you know what I mean?
Torre
Can I have a steak or no?
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, you can have a steak.
Torre
But tell me about. You're doing a vegan food line.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah. So right now I'm still building Out. Exactly. You know what that is. But really just all things in health because, you know, I don't want to talk too much about this particular idea, but. Yeah, I'm doing a sauce. You know, I mean, a sauce. Yeah, yeah. Gotta do a sauce.
Torre
Okay.
Snoop Dogg
You know what I'm saying?
Torre
Okay.
Snoop Dogg
And also some hair care, you know, my hair is luxurious, you know, for sure, for sure. And also some skin product. But. But definitely stepping in the wellness space. I put out a book two years ago called Unbothered the Power Choose, Enjoy. And I speak about my journey to, you know, having a strong mental state.
Torre
You meditate?
Snoop Dogg
Of course.
Torre
Every day?
Snoop Dogg
Yep.
Torre
How long?
Snoop Dogg
Just about it depends if I'm on the run, you know, I'll just take like a few minutes sometimes I'll do some Wim Hof. You know what Wim Hof is?
Torre
Yes, yes.
Snoop Dogg
Yep. I do some breath work, but I always take a time out in my day, whether it be early or in the night.
Torre
You mean so like five minutes, 20 minutes?
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, like five minutes. Three to five minutes on a shorter end and then for a longer end.
Torre
Like 20, like eyes closed, like zoning in to like the thoughts and like.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah. So I took this course with one of my, as I call my OGs. His name is Sadhguru and he has a place called the Isha foundation, which is in India. And also. And where is. Where's all the sing? Nashville. That's what I was thinking. It's.
Torre
You said where's all the singers from?
Snoop Dogg
The country singers Nashville. He has, he has a foundation right outside of Nashville. And one of the course that I took to there were about inner well being and these tools of science, yogic tools that help you keep your energy, you know, revitalized. It was seven days. I never made it meditated that many times in my whole life. And it really shift my perspective about being with yourself and taking necessary time to just be alone. And, you know, meditation is a part of my life.
Torre
This is really big and deep for you?
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, man. This ain't no surface. This ain't no surface. Otherwise, you know, we always talk about men's, you know, health and the, the mental, you know, aspects of, you know, some of these practices that really help shift your perspective and meditation is one of them. You got to meditate on things. We, we actually all meditate. But you know, people don't see it as such, like working out as a form of meditation.
Torre
Yes. When you get into it, what they really want you to do is to dissociate from thought. Yes. So you are sitting in your mind and letting thoughts pass and not grabbing onto any of them so that you learn that you are not your thoughts and you can dissociate and you may have negative voices in your head and you recognize that is a voice, an external voice. I don't have to listen to that. I don't have to take that seriously. And so yes, people talk about you can walk and meditate or you can, you can. But the.
Snoop Dogg
Like running, like running. Running can put you in a trance.
Torre
Yeah, for sure. For sure.
Snoop Dogg
Driving can put you in a trance.
Torre
Anytime you got to be paying attention in drive. Like, like, like to really get into your mind. Like, like you talk about when you're sitting eyes closed, like thinking and not holding on to any thoughts. Then you're really in meditation or you're really.
Snoop Dogg
That's true.
Torre
That's the thing they really want you to do.
Snoop Dogg
Yes, that's true.
Torre
Yeah.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Omarion

Torre
Wow. I mean, you know, people were like, was that, is that, is that like really part of his life? But like, no, this is like incredibly important to you every day and it seems like it has changed you.
Snoop Dogg
It has, it has made me more calm in my approach. Is it is helped me just shift my perspective as far as like the things that happen in My life and why they happen. And, you know, because I meditate, I allow things, you know, and the universe works in my favor because of that. So meditation is a powerful thing, and I would advise everyone, to a degree, to tap into yourself and meditate.
Torre
How old are your kids?
Snoop Dogg
So My son is 10, and my daughter should be 9 March 7th. Yeah. Yeah, I know. Time is like that.
Torre
You're. You're. You're not teenagers yet, right? We're not babies anymore.
Snoop Dogg
Facts.
Torre
So it's. It's a nice middle period. They still love you. They still want to hug and kiss.
Snoop Dogg
You and hang out with me, too.
Torre
And hang out with you. But we can also start to have, like, realer conversations, watch better movies and TV shows.
Snoop Dogg
We could really talk about some things. Yeah. It's so funny. It remind me my son, because he loves to work out. You know, he was.
Torre
Y'all go to the gym together?
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, yeah, we work out together in la.
Torre
That's awesome.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah. So he was, like in the camera, and he was like, look, dad. And I was like, all right, now push up your chest, son. And he was like, oh, my God. You know, he was. He was appearing bigger, and I was like, oh, this is. This is why I had a son, so I can show him everything that I know. Yeah. So I love being a father. That. That is such a grounding element to my everyday life, you know? I mean, it doesn't matter what I do, you know, I still have to be a dad.
Torre
No, it's like a part of your heart walking around outside of you, like.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
And you're kind of always. There's always a part of your brain going, okay, where is he? Where is she?
Snoop Dogg
Right.
Torre
She's at school. He's. As a friend. Okay. Right, right. Like any. You could just tell, okay, I know where they are if I don't know where they want to.
Snoop Dogg
Right, right.
Torre
You guys have phones yet?
Snoop Dogg
Oh, yeah, they both got phones.
Torre
Yeah, See, I held off. We had to be, like, 12, 13 to get the phone. That's.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
10, nine. A lot of kids are getting phones.
Snoop Dogg
They are. I have to regulate it, though. You know, just because the Internet is such a wild place.
Torre
Yes, yes. You want the connectivity. But then you're like, they're staring at the phone all day long.
Snoop Dogg
Come on, we ain't doing that. We going outside. We working out. You know, a season ago, my daughter was in gymnastics. You know what I mean? So I make sure I keep my kids busy.
Torre
So you take the phone away?
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, yeah. And we, like, play some Board games or something. They have to also know how to interject, you know, and react and be with the Internet too. So I can't just keep it away from them.
Torre
Yeah.
Snoop Dogg
You know what I mean? So make sure that I'm intentional when it comes to, like. All right, y'all, what time is it?
Torre
All right.
Snoop Dogg
Get off your phone. Because, you know, they got their favorite shows and they want to watch stuff. My daughter, she's such a girly girl, you know, she wants to watch certain things. She wants to get pretty.
Torre
Yeah.
Snoop Dogg
You know what I mean?
Torre
So you think about. Because you grew up, like, how did you grow up? Like, what. What class were y'all?
Snoop Dogg
I would say middle, but I would say middle because, you know, maybe some of the poorer things like that. Maybe other people that I know experienced, I didn't have to go through. And also my mom and my nana, their philosophy wasn't of lack. So I never felt like I.
Torre
What'd your dad do?
Snoop Dogg
My dad was actually incarcerated most of the time. Yeah.
Torre
For what?
Snoop Dogg
For what? Just in the gang life. You know what I mean? He was in the gang life. Yeah. We have an amazing relationship now. Shout out to my father.
Torre
He's out.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, he's been out for a long time. But during that time in my childhood, like. Cause my mom had me at a very young age. She was 16 when she had me, he was 15. You know what I mean? So you could imagine the kids raising a kid and.
Torre
Yeah, so your children have way more privilege and access and opportunities than you had, and they are growing up entirely different than you did. And do you think about. I mean, obviously you're like, thank God I can provide for them.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
But some people worry about, like, you know, the things that I experienced made me who I am.
Snoop Dogg
Right.
Torre
They're having different experiences. So, like, just the vast difference in how they're grown up versus how you grow up. How do you think about that?
Snoop Dogg
I think it's interesting, you know, but again, because of my mind and where I'm from, you know, I make sure that I communicate and I let them. Them know, you know, like, there's a difference in this household. You know, you. You actually have me here. You know, I mean, I'm actually here for every little step of the way. You know what I mean? So I think that they realize it, but I don't have any worries because my mom wasn't like that with me. My mom was very much like, she trusted me. Anything I wanted to do, I communicated with her, you know? Cause it was me and my brother first. We're her first two children. So she had boys. So it wasn't like, hey, y'all do this and do that. It was just like, y'all got your chores. If y'all want to do this, y'all need to do that. And we were like, okay, easy.
Torre
You're in Inglewood?
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
What was your. What gang was your block?
Snoop Dogg
Neighborhood? Piru.
Torre
And were you pressured to join?
Snoop Dogg
I wasn't pressured to join, but gang banging back then, it felt more like a boys club and family than it felt like a gang, you know, it wasn't.
Torre
You didn't perceive it as dangerous? As coming from an outsider?
Snoop Dogg
Yes.
Torre
Or as it really was.
Snoop Dogg
As it really was.
Torre
Or you didn't understand how dangerous it was?
Snoop Dogg
No, I understood how dangerous it was, but it just never was like, you know, drive bys and all that stuff. You, you don't as a kid think like, well, I'm gonna be doing that eventually. You know, it was more like, okay, if you could defend and fight for yourself, then people will respect you. You know what I mean?
Torre
Is there not. I mean, different areas function different ways, but is there not a pressure on all the 14, 15, 16 year old boys?
Snoop Dogg
It depends on your personality, you know, if you a square, then everybody ain't gonna press on you. You know what I mean? But if you somebody that could defend yourself, be like, nah, I wanna do this, I wanna do that, then they're gonna be like, okay.
Torre
So because you were doing other things with your talent that didn't come up for you?
Snoop Dogg
Nope. Even though it was in my backyard. But again, you know, it wasn't something that was not cool. It was actually really cool to be in a clique and to have your homies and to go out and, you know, it's the 4th of July and now we walking around the whole neighborhood, you know, it was very innocent. I felt like gang banging back then didn't have to do with killing people.
Torre
I mean, we as a hip hop culture looked up to them.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
I mean, the LA bangers and the New York drug dealers, the highest of the style pyramid for all the hip hop culture.
Snoop Dogg
That's facts.
Torre
So, like, we loved them.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, yeah, we did too, as kids because we seen them dress and fly, you know, with a, you know, Pendleton matching suits with the red belt and the red chucks, you know what I mean? And then, you know, the red low rider. So we, we, you know, we wanted to be like them, you know what I mean? Until we got of age and then when all of my homies. Like, my best friend, he just actually got out from doing a life sentence, you know what I mean? And we remained friends. This is my oldest friend. We went to elementary together. You know what I mean? And when we sit and we have conversations, it's, you know, how different our lives were, you know, because of the choices that we made, we're able to still be great, great friends. But he got out, and I'm just watching him do his thing now and how he was able to step away from, you know, some of those things that happened to him, you know, why he was. While he was gang banging. So, you know, I see that, and I'm like, okay. You know, my mom did pull me away. My mom was like, you know what? Enter this, you know, performing arts school. You know, I mean, it was different opportunities to.
Torre
Part of why you didn't join is because your mom was on it.
Snoop Dogg
For sure. For sure. I mean, I was in it. I was in it, and I was involved, for sure. You know, I mean, but there was still, you know, a pulling and a tugging that was like, well, I can't be in the hood all day. I actually got to go on tour, so I'm a see y'all later, man. You know, I come off a tour, I come back to the hood, and everybody's still doing the same thing. You know what I mean? And this is like, okay, well, you know.
Torre
So it seemed boring to you?
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, it was levels. But I didn't really get to, I guess, get too enticed by, you know, the high levels, because I just felt like the high levels land you in jail. And it's like, I don't want to be. I don't want to have my freedom. Like, you know, somebody telling me when to wake up, when to sleep, when to.
Torre
Nah, but you were in it. You were in it.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, for sure. I was fighting. I was. I was with the shits.
Torre
You got jumped in.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, I had a few fights. Yeah. Yeah. I got a. Yeah. I used to have this clique when I was in junior high school called UAC. Underage criminals 211. So, yeah, we would put people on. Yeah. I mean, it's. It's very normal in la. Very normal in junior high and high school.
Torre
So you can throw. You got hands. Yeah.
Snoop Dogg
I mean, I ain't scared to fight. Yeah, I ain't scared to fight. You'd be surprised.
Torre
They come out, beat up all the rappers.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah. I mean, you know, what you talking about? Dancing is rhythms. Dancing is movement. Dancing is, you know, so it's the same thing.
Torre
Dancing. The physicality is part of your acting.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
Right. Because it's just movement. But it's. Now we're gonna try to be realistic, naturalistic, and. But it's still like I'm presenting. Right. I want you to.
Snoop Dogg
Yep.
Torre
Tell me about your show.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
Wild Rose.
Snoop Dogg
Wild Rose. Yes. I'm so excited. We have some amazing fight scenes and gun scenes, too. This is gonna be my first time, you know, on tv, displaying my skills.
Torre
Fighting.
Snoop Dogg
Yes. Beating people up, socking em in, popping, boom, bop, bam, bop, bam.
Torre
Okay. Kendrick.
Snoop Dogg
You know what I'm saying? But Roosevelt is an amazing story. It's about this character named Rose, and he pretty much is born into an assassin's family. And, you know, his family disappears from him, which is his foundation. He's feeling bad. You know, he really wants to get back to love. He ends up working for this entertainer named Samaya, who is played by this wonderful new actress, Casey Gardner. Shout out to all Black Daisy Lerae. It's gonna be an amazing show, but it takes you through this journey of not only me healing myself, the music industry and its woes. Some of the challenges, people getting hits put on them, things that we know that happen in this industry. So it's a really interesting story.
Torre
You're killing people in America.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, I got a few hits that I got to take care of in this TV show.
Torre
So is it a little on the. Like. Like, what's the Ray Donovan like? You're. You. Like, I know you're assassin, but you're like a fixer. I got a problem, and they call Rose, and he'll like, I'll take care of your problem.
Snoop Dogg
Well, more like, okay, you know, this is a family of assassins. You know, there are certain protocols. There's certain things that have to go down. And when you get someone that you have to kill, you gotta take care of it. I have a problem with that. I have an issue with that. Some of my marks, you know, I don't know anything about them. Sometimes I inquire about them, and that's a problem. So I struggle with that. Yeah, some politicians, some really bad people I have killed. So I'm more of like, a righteous kill. So that's what Rose is. He's a righteous killer.
Torre
You're the executive producer, so how much are you part of the creation of the show and the character?
Snoop Dogg
I'm a big part not only in that aspect. I do want to shout out Deji Leray, who was the writer and producer as well. So, yeah, I Have a say so on all dimensions of this show. I was a part of the process in the casting. Shout out to. I don't want Mrs. Lee. I don't want to mess up her name. But yeah, shout out to our casting director. She gonna kill me. You know, I love you. I'm just having a brain fart. Don't forgive me. But yeah, it's gonna be an amazing show. And also, I just, I just, I'm so happy to be, you know, stepping back in my acting bag. It's been a while since, you know, you guys heard Fat Albert. All the films that I've been a part of that I'm stepping back into acting on a more serious note. So. Because you can't, you can't fake. You can't fake kill anyone. You know what I mean?
Torre
You can't fake. Well, no, we gotta believe you, period.
Snoop Dogg
That's the, that's, that's the, you know, point of an actor is we have to believe this. You have to be honest. So I'm going to really be showing my, my acting chops.
Torre
Yeah, that's what somebody told me, that you have to be honest in a fake situation.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
There's not really. You're not really killing anybody, but you have to. From your spirit. Yes, you believe I am killing this person. Because if you're not, if you don't really take it deep into your blood. Yeah, they'll see it.
Snoop Dogg
They'll see it. And guess what? Show's canceled. Yeah.
Torre
And the guy next to you who's the third banana, we see it in him.
Snoop Dogg
Exactly.
Torre
Because he's a friggin real actor.
Snoop Dogg
That's facts.
Torre
Do we see it in you?
Snoop Dogg
Of course. Of course.
Torre
Is it the same of like. Because when you're on the side of the stage, build yourself up before you go out sing and you know, before you do that take. Yeah, you're like building. Is it, is it the same or is it a different attack?
Snoop Dogg
It's the same. You know, I think it's a different premise because obviously there's like factors, you know, with this character Rose, like, you know, is he a narcissist? You know, how does his relationship with his mom? You know, there's a lot of factors. Great actors always do their research and their due diligence and they lend themselves to the character.
Torre
Yeah.
Snoop Dogg
So I was able to lend myself to tell Rose's story. Like, there's major differences from Omari, Omarion and Rose. One of the things that Rose does when he, you know, goes to dinner or when he meets up with, you know, he starts organizing things. That's a tick I don't have, but that's a tick that he has. That's something that I started doing after the character. I'm like, oh, let me. You know. So, yeah, just being able to lend myself in this way. I can't wait for people to see it.
Torre
And how did you get from Omari to Omarion? Did you choose that?
Snoop Dogg
No, actually, I used to be in this rap group called the Wild Kingdom that was like, very much so. Like Wu Tang shout out to Ruckus. But Ruckus, he named me. He was like, omarion, that's your name? And it stuck.
Torre
Why did you like that versus? Because it's similar. Yeah, it has a rhythm to it. But, like, why do you like Omarion over Omari?
Snoop Dogg
Well, Omarion is my. You know.
Torre
It's your real name.
Snoop Dogg
My real name. My family and everybody calls me, so Omarion. My name means king. And he put the O N eons. King forever. So I'm a king forever. Omarion.
Torre
Okay.
Snoop Dogg
The infinite. You know what I'm saying? So I was like, yeah. So it's just stuck. It just stuck. Yeah. Yeah.
Torre
It's beautiful. That's beautiful. Beautiful. But, yeah. You're going on tour?
Snoop Dogg
Yes.
Torre
With Bow Wow. Who else is on there?
Snoop Dogg
Boosie, Trey Songz, Nivea Plies.
Torre
Rick Ross is coming out.
Snoop Dogg
Rick Ross? Yeah. What's so cool about the Millennium Tour? You know, especially being the King of the Millennium Tour, you know, and also being part owner, you know, in the concept name and brand and likeness. When I first came up, B2K first came up, we were on the Scream tour, right? And the Scream Tour was so dope because it kind of chronologically, you know, like, put all of those fans of. Of of those songs in that era together. And Millennium Tour is just, you know, the mature version of it. And I'm so excited to be doing the Millennium Tour 2025 this year. We start next week. March 7th is the first date. So we'll be at the Barclays on the 21st. So if you don't have your tickets, make sure y'all definitely get your tickets. And, yeah, I'll be doing new music. I'll be doing my classics. I always say I'm so grateful as an artist to be a part of nostalgia. Nostalgia always existed for certain age groups, but in my age group, you know, to be able to bring back a memory and have a new memory at the same time is really a special thing.
Torre
See, now that's an interesting way of putting it, because John Mayer talked to me once about the industry. He's like, before you're 40. And he said, elton John told me this. Before you're 40, a recording artist should spend most of their time in the studio trying to make hits. And a minority of the time on the stage performing, right after 40, you switch it and you spend most of your time performing and less time trying to make. Cause it gets harder and harder to make hits that will connect with a large number of people. And that's sort of the marker where you move from being a contemporary artist to a legacy artist.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
And some people look at legacy artists as being older. It's not. Yeah, it's not. It's a different era in your career. And you're like, yes, I am a legacy artist. I am stack. I am stoking your nostalgia.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
And that is a great relationship to have with these fans.
Snoop Dogg
It's amazing. It's amazing. And also to be able to, you know, throw in some new bangers, you know what I mean? Like, to keep your audience energized. And I wish somebody would have told me that. I wish, you know, one of my favorites, you know, in greats would have said, hey, look, you know, after you get this age, it's gonna switch. So you need to be on this tip, you know, because I really feel like as a musician, being able to choose music and it choose me. This, like, it's so much you can do. You know, we see Andre 3000 picking up a flute. It's like music really has no bottom floor. It's just what you're willing to take focus with and become great at.
Torre
So you're still in the studio every day. Every day.
Snoop Dogg
Oh, my goodness. I have a catalog of records just like, you know, when I see my favorite. Marvin Gaye is just releasing new songs a few years ago, and he's been out of this world. Music is such a powerful medium, and it's magic, you know, So I want to definitely have something for the people. Like, there's. This is one album I have with myself and James Fauntleroy that we recorded, you know. You know, a few years back and it still stands today. I can't wait to put it out and show people.
Torre
But you have a studio in your house, of course. So. So that's where you. So you're in there recording every day. You can work the. You can work the board yourself.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
So you're producing yourself.
Snoop Dogg
I can. I have an engineer.
Torre
Okay.
Snoop Dogg
You know what I mean? But I'm not always producing myself.
Torre
But can you make a beat or.
Snoop Dogg
Of course, I got me a little npc, you know, a little phantom piano. Yeah, I love music. I have a grand piano in my four year. You know, I mean, like, I love music. Music has always been there for me. It's never left my side.
Torre
So you spend most of your time creating music?
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, if not music, you know, writing. You know, if not writing, acting. If not acting, you know, daddying.
Torre
No, I know you have like multiple areas, but for your creative life, for your work life, on a day to day, most of your time, go to studio, try to make something.
Snoop Dogg
Not necessarily okay, like I'm in that mole right now. But then.
Torre
Oh, now you're in the studio every day because you're in mode now.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, I'm in recording. I want to put an album out mode.
Torre
Right.
Snoop Dogg
But I'm about to go on tour. But I'm not going to stop on tour either. You know, we gonna make records on the road as well. There's always room to make a great song. So.
Torre
Yeah, you, you, you're. You have a 25 date tour?
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, 20. I think it's. Yes, something like that.
Torre
Is it all straight? 25.
Snoop Dogg
Like we leave just the weekends.
Torre
The weekends. Right. So I can still. Dad, I'm, I'm here.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
And then I fly out for a weekend and come.
Snoop Dogg
Well, I'll be on the bus, so my kids will probably fly out to me.
Torre
You'll be on the Right. But, but, but you can have a life.
Snoop Dogg
Of course. No, you can't. You can't. You can't do this and not have a life. You'll die. Yeah, you'll die fast.
Torre
I mean, when you were younger, you go on tour, we're, we're off. I'll see you in six months, Mom. Yeah, but now you're like, I need to be able to come back.
Snoop Dogg
You got to.
Torre
Yeah.
Snoop Dogg
You got to ground yourself.
Torre
Yeah. No, that's humane.
Snoop Dogg
You got to ground yourself. So, yeah, you know, all things, you know, oh, this being able to continue to tell stories, you know, in a positive way. New music tour, you know, books, writing, just all things to share.
Torre
The new song that you're most like excited about. Like, I can't wait to put this one on.
Snoop Dogg
Oh my God, there's two songs. No, it's three songs actually. It's a few songs actually. I'm like. Hold on, I take that back. No, yeah, the album. The album.
Torre
Come on. For your, for everything.
Snoop Dogg
Right?
Torre
Money on everything. You got to Put one joint out.
Snoop Dogg
Okay. Money on everything. It's a few of them. It's a few of them. It's a few of them that's ready to go. But there's two songs that I'll be performing during the show, one called Press and another one called Too Late that is actually the. The lead song of the TV show as well.
Torre
Okay.
Snoop Dogg
Yep. So that's kind of like the new vibes, you know what I mean?
Torre
So when you look at the music landscape, who do you think are your, like, sons or, like, people who were, like, inspired by and, like, no shade, but just people who, like. Clearly, he watched me.
Snoop Dogg
Right.
Torre
And I respect that you are, you know, like, clearly inspired by me. Like, who do you see who's like, oh, yeah, I think he was inspired by me. Mean, what we did.
Snoop Dogg
I would. I would be. I would be. Maybe. I don't want to use the word arrogant or cocky to say, like, this particular person or that person. I would want them to kind of voice how I inspire them, for sure. So I don't know that I would want to say, like, this person. You know what I mean? Because I feel like I've inspired a lot of people, and not just on the music tip, but, you know, you guys serve, you know, even in. In. On. On film. You know what I mean? So I would say I inspired, like, a whole generation, you know, I don't know who. Who would be like, that. That person. Like, who is that person? Because I feel like I'm still. I'm not done yet. You know what I mean? Like, there's still more for me to do.
Torre
I bet if I turn off the camera, you'd be like, yeah, respectfully. Respectfully.
Snoop Dogg
He.
Torre
And it's cool. It's cool. It's fine. It's fine. It's right.
Snoop Dogg
You're saying tone, and I hear their voice in certain songs, and I'm like, okay, that's a. Okay.
Torre
Right, Right. Still out here.
Snoop Dogg
But yeah, exactly. You know what I mean? So I wouldn't want to be like, oh, oh. He definitely. You know what I mean?
Torre
It's not. It's not a dis.
Snoop Dogg
It's not a dis.
Torre
Yeah, you got served. Will not go away.
Snoop Dogg
It is like this time for another dance film.
Torre
It is this cultural day. You just keep coming. People keep mentioning it. It's like it's just bubbling in the culture, like, all the time.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah. I'm so happy to have been part of that. I remember the first day of shooting, we actually just came off a tour, so we were on the bus and we drove right into filming, you know what I mean? So that was a time. That was a time.
Torre
Do you think that a movie about your life would be exciting or not?
Snoop Dogg
Oh yeah, definitely. Definitely. It would be something to watch.
Torre
Cause it's been all stages and buses since what, 13, 14.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, yeah. And, and still counting. Yeah, you know.
Torre
Yeah, yeah.
Snoop Dogg
My, my, my thing is, is let's see who's here in the end. Yeah, I mean, let's see who can really outlast, you know.
Torre
Even though you were working, you still feel like you had a pretty normal childhood.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah, I would say so. Yeah, I would say so. Yeah, I would say so.
Torre
Some people who were professional as children are like kind of lost my childhood.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
Kind of grew up too fast. But I don't feel like you feel like that.
Snoop Dogg
No. Because I got the opportunity to kind of see the industry because my mom was a hairstylist and she did a lot of entertainers hair. You know, she did Jermaine Dupree's hair, you know, she did Usher's hair. She did like, you know, gospel groups here. She did God's property hair. So, you know, I was like the kid on set, you know what I mean? Kirk Franklin is like, he knew me before B2K, you know what I mean? So. And also living in Los Angeles, you know, and being from Los Angeles, it's not like the rest of the world is. No, Hollywood is the rest of the world.
Torre
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Snoop Dogg
For us, you know what I'm saying? So anywhere we go, I'm comfortable. Anywhere I go, I'm me. You know what I mean? So I don't feel like my childhood, like I got to experience high school. Well, the first, once I got to 10th grade, then B2K was really popular. I wasn't in school anymore, but I got to experience junior high, you know, So I don't, I don't feel like, yeah, I missed out on anything as far as my childhood.
Torre
Did you finish high school?
Snoop Dogg
Uh huh, yeah.
Torre
On the road. Yeah.
Snoop Dogg
Yep. Yeah, we graduated. All of us.
Torre
We all graduated. I remember. You remember the Bobby and Whitney reality show?
Snoop Dogg
Yeah.
Torre
There's a moment I never forget. I think they were in the Bahamas or something and Bobby was talking to a group of, of young women and Whitney was sitting like 12ft away from him, like scarf all by herself, glasses. And he turns to the camera, he's like, some people get into the entertainment business to meet people and some people get into the business to show off their talent. And like Whitney Is there to show you I am the greatest singer you've ever. And Bobby's like, hug me. I want to hug you. Whatever. Do you think you're on one of those sides?
Snoop Dogg
I think I'm right in the middle, you know, because as an artist and having so many albums now, it's like, you know, you have to really think about what are you doing it for? You know, who are you doing it for?
Torre
Who are you doing it for?
Snoop Dogg
You know what I mean? I'm doing it. I'm doing it for the. For the young people. I'm doing it for the class that come. That will come after me to show them that, you know, through peaks and valleys, you can continue. You can keep going just because, you know, people are more interested in this new hot young artist. Just know that the game does that. Because the games likes to spit and chew you out and, you know, leave you to dry. No, you can actually create your own. You can actually do more. You can actually stand behind the camera. Yeah, you don't have to be in front of the camera. You can actually do this. You can do that. You know, that's why I love entertaining. You know, it's really, truly my gift to share. And I feel like, because I've always came from that place, I've always been given so many more opportunities because, you know, I want to share. And also, it's like, you know, success is not supposed to be something that you just. That happens at just one point in time in your life. You know what I mean? Like, there's so many people that give up on their gifts and their talents because people tell them, like, all right, well, we've seen you enough to go away, you know, like, you can't, you know, have another great moment. You know, I don't believe in none of that. I don't subscribe to none of that. I personally feel like. And when I think about my class, too, I'll just say, you know, like, my class is small. It's me, Usher and Chris Brown, you know what I mean? That has had a profound, you know, influence on r B music, you know what I mean? Like, no one can refute that. So I take pride in that. You know what I mean? And until it's time to change over or the next person that come up there, I'll be here. I'll be here.
Torre
Beautiful.
Snoop Dogg
Yeah. Putting in that work. Showing you how it's done, baby. You know what I mean? Still dancing, still performing, still healthy, you know, still talking about things of substance. You know what I mean still diving a little bit deeper, you know what I mean? That's what sharing is about. So beautiful. Yeah.
Torre
