This is the thing, right, what we talked about. One of the things I want to draw out from this entire conversation, especially as we get to some of the other new leaders, is that Latin America is not like a weird place where weird things happen. It is consistently the future. It is where things are going to be. Like so many of these leaders, including, like the new guy in Colombia as well as like Flavia Bolsonaro, these guys are fully AI sloppified. And you can see the beginnings of it even in, like the Conservative Party in the uk, right, like the Tories hired this guy who, right, does like this YouTube channel called the Crew Kern Gazette, where he just like, AI generates pictures of like Andy Burnham, like shirtless, smoking a cigarette, looking bad. Right? Now, the difference is in South America they do it to make themselves look awesome, whereas in Britain and in America, you mostly seem to do AI generated videos to make someone you don't your opponent look bad. But still, it is, it is. This tide of slop is rising.

So we had this campaign rally that again is largely based on, remember my father, by the way, he loves me, see, he endorsed me. And even still, that AI video of Bolsonaro still very much tests the campaign law. Flavio's campaign may have gotten his dad in more big trouble by generating a video saying, I love you, son. Please be president.

Yeah. I believe that the Brazil sort of like Supreme Electoral Court will make a ruling that that was invalidated campaign laws. This is new territory. But again, like, just to give indication of like this disinformation stop fest pioneering thing, a lot of it was, you know, Brazil was at the forefront of it. I mean, the last campaign, and particularly in 2018 and during Bolsonaro's presidency, his other son Carlos, famously ran what they called the Cabinet of Hate, which was sort of like an online dark money disinformation machine. Full of bots, very abusive, lots of threats. Carlos, who sort of writes tweets like a sort of demented poet, was a city councilor from Rio who basically was the youngest city council, I believe, in rio's history at 17, where I believe his. His entry into politics was because Bolsonaro was divorcing his mum, who was another city councillor, and he wanted to run him to try kick her off the ballot.

Was it the 2018 election that Brazil had that horrible problem with all the fake, like, WhatsApp messages everywhere? Are we reading about that?

Yeah, that's a cabinet of hate. And then also 2022, for instance, and this is something that, you know, the Trump people are now starting to like, promote. There was all this messaging about the election was fraudulent because of these voting machines are no good and maybe spent years doing this. And there was like videos of them saying it was demonically possessed electronic voting machines. Yeah, but I mean, and then I was mentioning the final son, who's a Zuma, Jair Hanan, who was called Bolsokiji when he was streaming Call of Duty or whatever nonsense. And he is now, I believe, a city councillor in a bizarre city in Santa Catarina, which kind of looks like a really shit version of Dubai and Miami crossed over. And he's also facing like, sort of corruption charges involving like, mansion party scams, also fake selling fake IDs, and he is being exposed as being very good at blowjobs by a. Another man. This was an accusation that was leveled, one that he strongly denies, but he was said he was really great at it.

Number one, being good at blow jobs is a. That's a skill that's marketable. Number two, I hope this guy becomes the mayor and we keep track of him. And three, I think it's interesting yet to think of them as, like, when, when you see the future, Riley. Like, this is the, the sort of font of like the total information collapse, like the, like the absolute demolition of subjective reality that we're kind of beginning that we're definitely on the verge of about to really live through very soon. Like, the next federal election in the States is going to be the worst 24 months of my life, probably.

and, like, so we have the. I want to circle back, right, just to, like, the other crazy things that the Bolsonaros are doing to try to stay elected. One of them is taking a bunch of money from a convicted fraudster to make a movie with Jim Caviezel that heavily fictionalizes Bolsonaro's military past called Dark Horse.

And the movie script opens with a very fictionalized account of Bolsonaro arresting some sort of drug dealer who then becomes the sort of Lord of the Amazon and Bolsonaro's fictional nemesis and keeps on trying to kill him. None of which, of course, which happened. Bolsonaro was removed from the army after a failed sort of bomb that he and his mates had cooked up, and he was dismissed in disgrace and described by one of Brizzle's former literary dictators as an idiot and a bad soldier.

And this is what they're. This is also. Their plan is, like, just trying frantically to create pop culture to, like, to do Internet stuff. Like, they're all so Internet poisoned and AI sloppified. They're like streamers and fucking criminals, allegedly, like. And they have their people that love them because they're so negatively polarized and driven crazy about everybody else. I mean, it's like. It's like, hey, we have to elect this gaggle of, like. Like, podcasters, all of whom have, like, numerous charges of corruption and, like. Like. Like sexual misconduct allegations against them and stuff. We have to elect them because, like, I saw a gay person once and never got over it.

Yeah, I mean, this. I mean, this will sort of bring us to the next part of it. It's also the other strategies to get the United States to intervene as much as possible in the elections.

And, you know, there is a base for Trump in Latin America. I mean, it's very clearly that there's an element of the population that aspires to basically live in. And it's not just, like, the elite. It's a little bit More massified than that. And then secondly, to an extent, Bolsonaro's campaign in 2018 set the model for this type of slop campaign that we're seeing now in which they're just blatant ripoffs.

All right, all right. So this has gone out of order because I got too distracted by Bolsonaro. In fact, one of the best ways to look at this is that a whole bunch of these new leaders, I'm going to list a few of them. Abelardo de la Esprea, El Tigre in Colombia is the new leader. He's going to be inaugurated tomorrow. As Ben was saying, Keiko Fujimori in Peru, her dad was Alberto Fujimori, the dictator before her. It was done for corruption and couldn't run again. So he just ran. His daughter, Daniel Noboa in Ecuador, who was at NYU at the same time as Timothee Chalamet. Jose Antonio cast, who we mentioned at the top of the episode in Chile, Rodrigo Paz in Bolivia, who sort of like, it seems like he kind of was elected as a centrist and then just like it's never happened before, flew right in office. But a bunch of these guys, with the exception of Fujimori and d' Ella Sprea and a bunch of other Caribbean leaders and some Central American guys like Nasfree Asfura in Honduras, all did like a class photo of South American right wing freaks with Trump in Miami earlier this year at this conference called the Shield of the Americas Summit that was held at a Trump resort in Miami. So Ben, can you tell us about the Shield of the Americas Conference and the class photo of all these freaks?

Yeah, I mean we've been hearing it particularly since they decided to abduct the Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela and then turn it into sort of a colony. A lot of talk about narco terrorism and the drug traffickers and the Don Roe Doctrine, the Trump collary to the Monroe Doctrine, which in effect is like America needs to defend its hemisphere, its interest in its hemisphere from external competitors, mostly China. But what's basically happened is under the guise of intensification of the war on drugs, which mostly involves blowing up fishermen who are unfortunate enough to be near the Caribbean and Pacific coastline of Ecuador or Colombia or Venezuela. I think it's over 240 they're murdered now. They've basically declared this new phase of the war on drugs and using this as a way to drive the agenda in Latin America to push the sort of hard right attack on sovereignty, attack on the left and desire to acquire all the things Trump said Yes, to the victor belongs the spoils in reference the billions of dollars of oil they're taking from Venezuela. So at that golf resort in Florida they launched the Shield of Americas, the anti cartel coalition with the new generation of Latin America's right. Keiko Fujimori in Peru will, has. Will join as well as Abalado de Esprea in Colombia. But basically it's we going to submit ourselves and our source of foreign policy to Marco Rubio. We're going to say Florida is the spiritual capital of the Americas. It's a new imperial center. And we got to let America conduct whatever, you know, even kinetic strikes within our territory in the name of fight the war on drugs, which maybe be killing a bunch of peasants. Maybe we murdering a prosecutor who's looking into connections with the president's father's banana company and major amounts of cocaine shipments, that sort of thing.

Like the model they're imitating is like the comprador model of like naive Bukele. In fact, like Daniel Noboa is like overtly imitating Bukele. But so is, but so is like de la Sprea. Like they're all taking bits from one another. Whether it's like the slopification, whether it is the Bukelefication of just being like, yeah, we're gonna build a sea cod as well in Ecuador actually, right. Like this is, this is. They are all and all just builds this like pyramid up to America, which is also placing its thumb on every scale it possibly can to tilt things in favor of the people in that picture.
