Sabrina
Very spooky. Do we just stare blankly in the camera?
Emma
I. I don't know why. I took a sip of my coffee the second we started. Yeah, poor decision.
Sabrina
Hello. Hi, this is two girls, one ghost.
Emma
Two girls, one ghost. And we are your gustesses. That is Corinne. Hello, I'm Sabrina and I feel very exposed.
Sabrina
Well, because you're given crotch shot if you're not careful. So everyone go watch on YouTube for a chance to see.
Emma
I do have. They have shorts.
Sabrina
Now. You're pulling your skirt off.
Emma
It has shorts underneath.
Sabrina
It's very cute.
Emma
Thank you.
Sabrina
And if you're wondering why I've been wearing a hat non stop for months, Sabrina can tell you you're hiding your baby hairs. And yeah, you cannot be tamed. No, no hot tool will do anything.
Emma
Yeah, you can't be tamed, girl. No, I've never called you girl before. That girl. Really, really wrong.
Sabrina
Hey girl.
Emma
Hey, girl.
Sabrina
I've never seems so weird.
Emma
Yeah. Inappropriate.
Sabrina
That's like, I feel like I can never say mama when people, like, if I were ever a nurse and they're like, hey, mama. Oh, it feels weird.
Emma
Yeah, that and just like calling anyone a pet name.
Sabrina
I feel like, like, like people are so cool. They can get away with like saying honey to strangers, like, hey, hon or hey. Oh, that doesn't Ray.
Emma
Doesn't feel good.
Sabrina
How inauthentic of me. But I, I'm always envious of people who can just like, it's part of their personality. It's who they are.
Emma
But sometimes it rubs you the wrong way.
Sabrina
Oh, really? Well, because those aren't people who should be saying it. You have to know yourself. And can you get away with it. Yeah, I know that I cannot. I could probably get away with, like, bro.
Emma
Yeah.
Sabrina
I like to call people hey, honey.
Emma
No.
Sabrina
That feels very condescending when I say that.
Emma
Right. That's the thing. And I think, like, when younger women call me that specifically, I feel gross.
Sabrina
It's like, yeah, but if they're Southern.
Emma
Or, like, Australian or, like, just really.
Sabrina
Freaking cool, they call you.
Emma
Yeah, we're not cool.
Sabrina
I don't think that's the thing. You have to be a certain coolness level or from a certain area, and then it feels right.
Emma
We didn't inherit the cool jeans.
Sabrina
No, but what's up, bruh?
Emma
We inherited. I'm trying to do a segue. Gosh. Do you want me to put you in the freezer? I would never. I actually was thinking about this. I could. I don't have anyone in my freezer because no one's pissed me off enough to put them in the freezer.
Sabrina
Do you have a freezer that's big enough?
Emma
No, like, not, like your body. I'm sorry. I meant like the, like, you know when you write a name and you put it in a little, like, jar and put it in your freezer? It's witchy.
Sabrina
No, I did not know about that.
Emma
Oh, if people piss you off. Yeah. There's little, like, spell jars you can create and put them in your freezer.
Sabrina
I can't believe you would threaten me like that.
Emma
Well, you interrupted me.
Sabrina
I would rather my body be in the freezer. Then you write my name and put it in a spell spill jar in the freezer. Like that. Before, I was like, okay, whatever. Just a yes. And, like, I'll just go. Now I'm mad. Now I'm mad at you.
Emma
Now I'm going in your freezer.
Sabrina
Now you might. Now I'm gonna start a jar with the only name in it being yours.
Emma
Oh, man. Okay. Yes. If you don't know, there is this little, like, witch thing you can do, and we're not profess, but. Yeah. If someone wrongs you, write their name on a piece of paper. You. You could put, like, some salt, lemon, and whatever other herbs you want in your little jar and put it in the freezer.
Sabrina
I like that.
Emma
You ice them out.
Sabrina
It's very cool. Ice them out. And it doesn't do any harm to them, but maybe just to your relationship.
Emma
Yeah. And it's kind of just being like. It's like setting a boundary and just being like, nah.
Sabrina
Okay, well, understood. Boundary set.
Emma
Yeah.
Sabrina
Wasn't it, like, last episode you said you don't like confrontation.
Emma
I don't remember that.
Sabrina
You just confronted me real hard. I'll stop talking. Sabrina's segueing into the ghost stories, everyone.
Emma
Well, the segue is gone now.
Sabrina
Well, you actually did a really cool segue into a witchy spell that I didn't know.
Emma
That's true.
Sabrina
Yeah, that was a good segue education. Why am I complimenting you?
Emma
I was gonna say we didn't inherit the cool gene, but we did inherit some ghost stories.
Sabrina
Hell yeah.
Emma
From all of you. And you all inherited either paranormal abilities, haunted objects, and all types of things. So today's theme is inherited.
Sabrina
It's broad, but it's spooky and it's good. We have a lot of them. We do have a lot. Do you want to start?
Emma
I'll go first. Was it my grandma or was it the devil?
Sabrina
Well, it depends on who your grandma is, because I was going to be like, oh my God, never. But then I was thinking of some people's grandparents are very mean.
Emma
And it reminds me of the devil's tramping ground. When we talked about that in the Appalachian episode, how there was like the old lady rocking in the rocking chair.
Sabrina
Oh, yes.
Emma
All right, so this is from Emma. Hello. How are you guys? We're in a fight, so we're unwell. Questionable. My name is Emma and I absolutely love your guys podcast. My family is really into the paranormal. Well, just my mom and I. But when I was about 13 years old, maybe a little younger, my great grandma passed away and we inherited a lot of her things. But her favorite thing was her chair. She would specifically always sit on it when we would come visit. And so we brought it into our living room and faced it towards our tv. Really none of us would sit in it. It was just one of those chairs that was there. The house we were living in always had weird things that would go on, like lights would be flipped on and off, or it sounded like doors would open and close. And overall, you could get a weird feeling about the house. One day when I woke up about a few weeks after we had brought my great grandmother's things into our home, I walked out of my room. And to give you a little perspective of how our house was set up, my. My room was on the opposite side of the house. It was a one story house, but when you walked out of either my room or my brother's room or my parents room, you'd step into this long hallway and you could see all the way across the house to the other side where you Would see the TV hanging on the wall in the living room. So I walk out of my room and I hear some weird cracking noises. But I assume it's just the house settling.
Sabrina
Always the assumption people make.
Emma
And then I looked up and I saw that the TV was turned off. But it looked like there was a face staring at me in the reflection of the tv.
Corinne
Eee.
Emma
It looked just like my great grandmother who had passed away. I immediately started bawling. I ran back into my room and called my mom and she thought I was just seeing things. And maybe I was because I was tired. But till this day, I'm now 20 years old. I still believe it was my grandma sitting there. To make it even more creepy, a few weeks after that incident, I was in the dining room waiting for my mom to come pick me up and I had my backpack sitting on the table that we had in the kitchen. My backpack completely flew off of the table. I grabbed it and ran out of the house. I also have that on video if you guys want to see it. Yeah, Emma, we do.
Sabrina
I already sent it.
Emma
A little while later we were packing up to move and my parents were at work and I was home alone just packing everything up. And for some reason I think I was cleaning my parents room under their bed and everything. But when I was cleaning under the bed, I felt a box. Bed was very close to the ground and I really couldn't put my whole head under there. So I pulled out the box. Guess what was inside the box.
Sabrina
I know that this isn't right and I know that I should be guessing the correct thing. But immediately my my brain went grandma's head. Cuz I think you put it in me with the freezer comments.
Emma
Okay, what do you think is the right answer?
Sabrina
Can't remember.
Emma
A Ouija board. I like how you said I can't.
Sabrina
Remember because I had like something specific in mind and then never mind. My brain is struggling today.
Emma
It's okay.
Sabrina
I haven't had enough. Sabrina just brought me the coffee.
Emma
Chug a little bit more. It was a Ouija board. I immediately threw the box back under the bed, ran into my room. I was not touching anything else related to my parents until they got home. I do not mess with Ouija boards. So yeah, I wanted your opinions. Seeing the reflection in the tv, it looked like my grandma, but I didn't feel like her. I got a scary feeling from it. I have a lot more creepy stories I can tell. Hope you guys have a great day. Stay creepy, Emma.
Sabrina
Dang, that is really creepy. Whenever you're not expecting to find a Ouija board and find one, I feel like that's almost scarier than playing one and opening yourself up to the possibilities of the spirit realm.
Emma
Also, like Emma, how often are your parents pulling this out from under the bed and just in their bed at night while you're all sleeping, using the Ouija board together? Right. Is this their, like, nighttime ritual? Gotta say good night to Grandma.
Sabrina
I like that. You know, some people pray at night and go say your bedtime prayers. Go say goodnight to Grandma. Meemaw's waiting for.
Emma
We have some questions for your mom. And then I do wonder. Okay. I mean, Emma said it didn't feel like her grandma, so that does make me wonder if it was. Because I always want to say, trust your gut and your instinct. If you don't think it's someone, trust that. But the chair is facing the tv. It's a couple weeks after great grandmother passed away.
Sabrina
Yeah.
Emma
I am not surprised. I wouldn't be surprised if grandma's sitting in the chair, her favorite chair, looking at the tv.
Sabrina
But then at the same time, it's like. It's the whole question of, like, residual energies or like, the memory of an item. If she spends so much time in that chair, was that authentically her or was it like almost the chair remembering her, the space around it remembering her?
Emma
The chair missed her.
Sabrina
The chair missed her.
Emma
That is so sweet.
Sabrina
That's another children's book. Let's write that one down. Yeah. Someone. Is someone writing down our 200 children's books that we have yet to write? Okay. When you first started reading this, I immediately was reminded of my brother's encounter in our basement he used to sit on back in, like, the late 90s. There were those gaming chairs that were kind of like almost like rockers, but they were right on the ground. Do you remember those?
Emma
I remember exactly what you're talking about.
Sabrina
Yeah.
Emma
Yeah.
Sabrina
So my brother had one of those. And he would sit on the floor in the basement and play video games. And there was a couch right behind that gaming chair for, like, you know, non gamers to sit on. And he turned the TV off. Oh, no. And in the reflection of the black TV screen was a man sitting on the couch behind him, watching. And he, like, bolted upstairs.
Emma
What game was he playing?
Sabrina
It wasn't anything where it was like, oh, you know, like, what if it was just like the reflection of someone in Call of Duty or whatever?
Emma
It was like, no, it was someone watching him play.
Sabrina
Yeah. But it does make me wish that we had written down descriptions of all these people because now it's like while it was terrifying at the time, now however many years later, wouldn't it be great to go back and be like, wait, that was actually so and so our grandpa Bob, right?
Emma
Or like the encounters that everyone had with that one person, Right, Yeah, well.
Sabrina
That did happen in my house, but that's the time and a place.
Emma
That's a time and a place that.
Sabrina
You'Re not a part of. It happened in the past.
Emma
Are you getting back? You're finding it. You're finding your way here.
Sabrina
I'm swimming through mud today. This is called Ghost story from Australia. Love it. You can call us hun if you would like, or babe. Yet you say hey girls. So that works too.
Emma
Whatever you want.
Sabrina
Hey girls. I have a few long creepy stories. They're not long, but I myself have witnessed and some that my family members have witnessed. My family has always been susceptible to the paranormal.
Emma
I like that saying, susceptible, susceptible rather than like. We're open to it.
Sabrina
Yeah. So my first story goes back to around 1986 when my mom was roughly six years old. My mom lived with her parents and three older siblings. One of the siblings being her eldest brother, Scott. Scott suffered from many illnesses causing him to have random seizures. My nan's bedroom in the house was located across the hall from the bathroom. So if you were laying on her bed, you could see the bath, the sink and the old medicine cabinet style mirror that you could open up. One night, while everyone was in bed sleeping, my uncle started having an absent seizure.
Emma
Oh no.
Sabrina
Being that everyone was asleep, no one knew. The bathroom mirror swung open, hitting the reflection of the street light through my nan's window, shining the light directly into her eyes so that she would wake up and she went to go assist my uncle. Immediate chills.
Emma
That's a wow.
Sabrina
Spirit intervention saved a life. Also, how creative of that ghost to be. Like use the bathroom mirror across from scientists to do the reflection of the mirror hit her eyes just so. Wake Nan, save uncle.
Emma
Damn.
Sabrina
This house had many, many more paranormal events and I will include some in the next story. So my mom and my auntie are quite close in age, which meant that they shared a room. Growing up, they shared a bunk bed which had a tall mirror at the end of it that I later inherited. My mom's bed was at the bottom and my auntie's was the top bunk. One night, my mom saw my auntie standing in front of the mirror checking herself out and combing through her hair. With her fingers. My mom, annoyed, asked her, why are you up? Can you get me a drink? Sorry, I. I misread that, but I like my version better.
Emma
I like it a lot. She just, why are you up? Can you get me a drink?
Sabrina
It's while you're up, can you get me a drink? But I like why are you up? Go get me a drink. My auntie ignored her, to which my mom said, louder and more annoyed, I need a drink. You're already up, you can go get it for me. This is very bossy, sisters. My auntie then reached her head over to the side of the bunk and said, what are you talking about? I'm in bed trying to sleep. My mom, confused, replied with well then, who is that then?
Emma
So she's still seeing her?
Sabrina
I guess so. My auntie looked over at the end of the bed and screamed as loud as she could. This then startled the little girl and she walked back into the mirror.
Emma
Shut up.
Sabrina
I inherited this mirror. And later I had the same occurrence, same girl. When I was about 7, I lived in this house that I was terrified of. I hated being there because something just really felt off, but I didn't know what. One night while I was fast asleep, my stepdad, who was a skeptic, noticed that I had gotten out of bed. He kindly told me to please get back into bed and I ignored him. He then asked me again, please go back to bed, not really being able to see me properly as it was too dark down the hallway. And then he got up to show me back to my room, and when he followed me around the corner, I disappeared. He then reached the door and noticed that I actually was asleep on my top bunk.
Emma
Whoa.
Sabrina
The time between him walking around the corner and reaching my room was less than 3 seconds. Not enough time for me to get into my bed, the top bunk, and fall asleep. He didn't know at that time that my mom was watching this all unfold and was in shock as she recognized the little girl from her experience from when she was around 7 years old.
Emma
Who's this little girl?
Sabrina
This mirror has been now given to my cuz. Oh my God, my cusband. My cusband.
Emma
Wait, actually that makes me think of when. So Jerry from Ladies and Tangents is now engaged to Ciara's husband's brother and her cousins.
Sabrina
Husband's brother.
Emma
Yeah. So then when she posted like a. A clip where they're talking about it, the search on Instagram said, how to propose to your cousin. Come on.
Sabrina
I saw someone else comment and they said something like they cousins so hard they ended up with the same last name again, which I really liked.
Emma
Now they're sisters.
Sabrina
That was so cute.
Emma
Sister cousins.
Sabrina
Oh my God. They are sister in laws now. Mm. Ohio. Keep Ohio weird, right? The mirror then was given to my cousin who experienced something as well. She was home alone and at the time she was taking selfies as young 14 year olds do. She looked back at the pictures and noticed the apparition of the girl was caught right behind her walking into the room where the mirror was kept.
Emma
Do we have this photo?
Sabrina
I have attached the picture.
Emma
Shut up.
Sabrina
It wasn't long after that we decided it was time to get rid of this mirror altogether. Okay, so you can see in the photo to the right, there's like a darkish figure.
Emma
Oh, it looks tall.
Sabrina
It does look really tall. Whoa. They keep calling her a little girl, but like she looks tall. She's very tall.
Emma
She almost looks like she's walking towards the wall and has a ponytail. Yeah, that gives me the chilly willies.
Sabrina
Alright, third story. This story involves something that happened directly to me. My uncle that I mentioned in my first story actually died by suicide when I was five due to health conditions that he faced one night when I was about 12 or 13. It was 2016. I had my house phone on top of my bed as I had been on the phone with my nan a little while beforehand. Exactly 11:55pm the phone starts to ring, startling me awake. As I try to focus on the number and who could be calling this late, I realized that there was actually no number showing. I tried to answer but the button to pick up wasn't working. My mom then walked into my room to see what was going on and so I gave the phone to her. It was still ringing and she tried to get it to stop, but it wouldn't. Usually calls would ring maybe for 20 seconds before hitting voicemail. But this phone rang for five minutes straight. No numbers showing, no buttons working. It finally stopped ringing at 12am so.
Emma
Five full minutes of ringing?
Sabrina
Yeah. My mom then tried to reverse call to see who it would ring through to, but there was no record of anyone even calling found. We ignored it. We went to bed and when we woke up the next day trying to forget what happened, it wasn't too long until my mom looked up at me in shock and showed me her phone. A Facebook memory of a status she made one year beforehand had popped up stating Happy heavenly birthday to my big brother Snuff. We miss you so much. It's 2015 and about time heaven got a phone. I have attached the status to this email as well, which she did attach a screenshot, but we won't show it because it has people in it. We knew then that the phone call was my uncle letting us know that he was there. I hope you guys have enjoyed my stories. Chelsea, I've been very guilty of making health goals but not being consistent with them.
Emma
Well, that's all changed now because of Symbiotica.
Sabrina
How easy is it to just grab one of these babies every morning, squeeze the pouch into your mouth or drop it into your drink and it tastes good.
Emma
I am on my vitamin C journey, so I love these packets. Actually, what I do is I'll take two packets at one time and I'll rip them both up and then I just squeeze them both into my mouth and I make a little.
Sabrina
Do you squeeze up or do you.
Emma
I squeeze up. I'm up.
Sabrina
How do you squeeze your Symbiotica?
Emma
I do mine in the morning and I squeeze up. But I found that Symbiotica is the easiest way to take supplements. They look great in my pantry. They are a staple in my everyday routine now.
Sabrina
I also have been really liking the sea moss. I add it to a drink, but CMOS has so many minerals and my brother takes CMOS too and so I actually just got him a pack to try as well.
Emma
That's so nice of you. What a great gift. A gift for yourself and for your friends and family.

Sabrina
I love that, though, that her mom was like, oh, I miss my brother. I wish heaven got a phone so that I could make a phone call to you. And then the next year, on the anniversary of his birthday, he was like.
Emma
Ring, ring, ring, for five full minutes.
Sabrina
If Facebook hadn't given her the reminder, if she hadn't opened up Facebook, she wouldn't have realized the significance of the phone call.
Emma
Oh, boy.
Sabrina
Dang. I wonder who is the mirror now? Because they gave it up, so it's not in the family anymore. So someone else has inherited unintentionally.
Emma
This little ghost girl, this little ghost.
Sabrina
Girl in haunted mirror, she doesn't seem malevolent.
Emma
Like, she just seems like she's. Hey, I have a portal, right?
Sabrina
She's, like, doing her hair. Actually, I wouldn't mind having her.
Emma
I wouldn't mind having her either.
Sabrina
Yeah.
Emma
What if that leads to an alternate reality and she found that you can go through a mirror and enter a different reality? And so she's just.
Sabrina
She just does it from time to.
Emma
Time, hopping back and forth, checking it out.
Sabrina
I wonder what would happen if someone tried to follow her into the mirror. Right. Because no one's ever done that.
Emma
Not yet.
Sabrina
In the moments that she's going and something is open, can you follow, too?
Emma
I would love.
Sabrina
What if you get stuck? Well, it sounds like she can pop out again. She'll probably bring you back out.
Emma
Yeah, I feel pretty good about you trying to find me.
Sabrina
Mirror, mirror, on the wall. It's Sunday morning. Time to podcast after all. Like, I just throw the mic up to the mirror.
Emma
I'm literally just a reflection. Yeah. I wouldn't have to wear pants to work.
Sabrina
That's true. Top up.
Emma
Yeah. I have one.
Sabrina
So much money. If that happened can you imagine what a commodity podcasts are?
Emma
Stuck in Mirror continues to podcast.
Sabrina
Guys, we would get rid of our Patreon. We'd do things for free.
Emma
We'd be a famous. Okay, so this is from our listener Danny, and it is called Ouija Board Mess and Peruvian Ghosties.
Sabrina
Ooh, is this the one that you thought I stole?
Emma
Maybe.
Sabrina
Lots of accusations over the past couple of weeks.
Emma
You know, you never had a sister and now you have me.
Sabrina
I'm taking it pretty well, I think.
Emma
Yeah, you're adjusting pretty well. Okay. Hi, my spooky queens. Queens. My name is Danny, and I'm writing you from Lima, Peru, currently living in Canada, but my Peruvian background is more spooky, as is everyone who writes you. I'm a huge fan of the podcast. For starters, my entire family has a long lineage of witchy people with amazing abilities. My great uncle was a shaman in Trujillo, Peru, and everyone in the family, especially the women on my mom's side, have developed some sort of ability.
Sabrina
I love how it's developed too. Like, it's like maybe you're born with it, but it doesn't just. You start to work on it a little bit. Yeah, it happens with time. Inexperience and exposure.
Emma
Exactly.
Sabrina
Could happen to us if we still have time. Whoa. Are we about to die while you're about to put me in your.
Emma
No, I meant, like, okay.
Sabrina
Moving time. Sticking.
Emma
Tick, tick, tick. Ouija board Realness. The tale of a dumb teenage girl. So I have always been sensitive to spirits and sensing their presences. So when we moved into a brand new house when I was in high school, I was bored one day and so, yeah, your girl decided to make a makeshift Ouija board. I used it and surprisingly, it worked.
Sabrina
Always. Always. I feel like. Well, I guess we don't receive emails that say I made a makeshift Ouija board. Nothing happened, but I feel like we get a lot of the makeshift Ouija board emails.
Emma
It's all about intention, what you're opening yourself up to. It spelled out the name of a man. I can't quite remember now what the name was, but after I closed the session, some creepy things started happening in my house. One night I was sleeping when I felt my bed sink down as if someone sat down on it. I thought nothing of it and thought maybe it was my grandma, but let me just say, my grandma would never scare the crap out of me like this, so it was safe to assume it's not her. The next day, I was home alone after school and I heard a Loud crash coming from my bathroom. My bathroom was a long rectangle. Picture sink on one end of the rectangle and the toilet on the other. Like a victim in a horror movie. I decide to go check out what happened. I entered the bathroom and I saw a painting, which is normally hung where the sink is, had flown across the bathroom to where the toilet was.
Sabrina
Wow.
Emma
As I was further inspecting the bathroom, I noticed three giant black scratches on the wall.
Sabrina
Black.
Emma
At this point, I kind of knew, and pardon my language, I was.
Sabrina
Yeah.
Emma
I would also feel this spirit climb onto my back as if I was giving it a piggyback ride. And I would feel it try to push me down the stairs.
Sabrina
Oh, my God. Oh, I hate that.
Emma
I finally confessed to my mom and told her what I had done. And she shared with me that she was also experiencing things. Ever since I did the Ouija board. She lost her keys and couldn't find them for like two weeks. We tore the house apart and could not find them until one day she saw them just laying there on the ottoman near the front door. And the keys had been placed in the shape of a pentagram, each key pointing a different direction. The house was honestly beyond cleansing. So we decided to move.
Sabrina
When in doubt, move out.
Emma
All right.
Corinne
Holy crap.
Sabrina
The keys. I would kind of feel initially like it was like a clue, like they're pointing in the direction that you need to go. But if they're pointing in basically every direction, it's like, what are you gonna do? Move out.
Emma
Move out. I'm lucky you were able to, but I worry about the people who moved into this house.
Sabrina
Yeah.
Emma
Okay. My second story is garden elves and my spirit seeing grandma. My grandmother always saw spirits, but one thing she had always seen was. Was elves.
Sabrina
Ah. I wish, I wish, I wish upon a star. Please let me see dwarves and elves and fairies in my garden. And trolls.
Emma
Maybe go to Peru. My grandmother would go out in the fields in Peru and play with her siblings. And she would often get separated from them. And she would sit in the fields and saw elves. Yes, elves. Not like Santa elves, but think like gnomes with blonde hair and light colored eyes. Wow. They would dart back and forth. And she never dared follow them in the field, since there are legends that you should never follow these creatures. Later in life, she would see spirits everywhere in her house. She would see the spirit of a little girl playing peekaboo with her, hiding behind a wall in the kitchen. She figured it was just a playful spirit and didn't think much of it. But everywhere she went, she Saw spirits.
Sabrina
Whoa.
Emma
I have inherited.
Sabrina
It's like, beyond seeing spirits. She's seeing everything. Like, all mystical beings.
Emma
And it's different from, like, occasionally seeing a spirit. She's seeing them everywhere.
Sabrina
Right.
Emma
I just imagine, like, she's surrounded. How do you differentiate spirit versus human living? I inherited her gift, which makes me feel so happy. And now I'm not a medium. I only see them walking around or chilling in my house. But I can't help but wonder about all of the other ghost stories my family has that they have not shared. I have tons of other stories, but I love you divas from Dani.
Sabrina
Dang. I really wish I had the powers.
Emma
Of your mother and grandmother. The whole family?
Sabrina
Yeah, the whole family. And maybe you. Yeah. Because it's all like, when's the moment that you're gonna realize you two see these elves?
Emma
Well, Dani said she just sees spirits wandering around her house, like, all the time. How do you.
Sabrina
Do they communicate with you? That's my question. Do they just go about life and it's just like, oh, you're seeing them, they see you. It's just like this, you know, you. You pass by each other. Or is it kind of like I'm picturing like in Medium or Ghost Whisperer, where sometimes you have a task. You have to help them. They realize you can see them and they're desperate to talk. I don't know. Well, I guess you do. Tell us. Tell us.
Emma
Wouldn't it be fun to just like, swap bodies for like a minute with Danny just to know?
Sabrina
Oh, absolutely.
Emma
See through your eyes.
Sabrina
Oh, man, I really wish.
Emma
I know.
Sabrina
Is this making me upset that Halloween town? Like, we can't just take a bus to Halloween town.
Emma
Not yet. Not yet.
Sabrina
The Hogwarts hasn't let us in.
Emma
Oh, I want to go to Universal Orlando so badly. They just opened the Ministry of Magic.
Sabrina
You can go.
Emma
I know, but I like now. I want to go right now.
Sabrina
Okay. I have an email called a visit from my one legged grandfather. Hello, ghostesses. Kelsey here. I found your podcast earlier this year, which was back in 2019 through my best friend, Jessica. Shout out, Jessica.
Emma
Shout out. Pyramid scheme for the win.
Sabrina
It's me, Jessica. I'm in here.
Emma
What's that from?
Sabrina
This is a TikTok, the hot chick. Rob Schneider.
Emma
Never seen it.
Sabrina
He trades places with this really hot girl, Jessica. And I'm gonna play the clip. Is this a TikTok? No, this is 2002.
Emma
How do you know my name? It's me, Jessica.
Sabrina
I can't believe you don't know that reference.
Emma
Well, I'm gonna watch this tonight.
Sabrina
Oh, it is from 2002. Look at me.
Emma
Here you go.
Sabrina
Okay.
Emma
I love Anna Faris. Okay, I'll watch that.
Sabrina
Back to Jessica's email or. No, it's Kelsey.
Emma
It's not even Jessica's email.
Sabrina
Back to Kelsey's email. Okay. My interest in the paranormal began at a young age because I grew up in a haunted house across the street from a graveyard that is also probably haunted.
Emma
Probably.
Sabrina
There are tons of stories I could tell, but one in particular gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. This one comes from my mother. Before I can begin the story, we do have to rewind a bit. My grandfather, my dad's dad, had severe rheumatoid arthritis later in his life and also ended up contracting MRSA while in a nursing home. It's a typo staff.
Emma
Oh, geez.
Sabrina
I can't pronounce it all. Due to all of these ailments, he ended up having one of his legs amputated at the knee.
Emma
Wow.
Sabrina
According to my mother, when my sister and I would go visit him, he would wave his amputated leg at us to make us laugh. During this time, my mom was also pregnant with my little brother. My parents did not want to know the gender of the baby before he was born, but my grandfather would always insist that the baby was a boy. Unfortunately, my grandfather passed away only two weeks before my brother was born, so he did not get to see that he was correct. Upon my grandfather's death, we inherited one of his favorite chairs, the one that he was commonly in when we would visit another chair. This chair sat in our living room for years as my siblings and I grew.
Emma
Do you think our chair, these chairs that we sit in, are going to be haunted by us?
Sabrina
Oh, I thought you were going to ask if they were haunted. I'm like, these are from Wayfair.
Emma
You're just going to be sitting them so often and share stories.
Sabrina
Maybe, yeah. Someone just hears, like, maniacal laughing every so often. Creepy whispers. My parents went on not thinking much of having this chair. But one day when my brother was about two years old, he began staring at the chair with no one in it and laughing. My mom asked him, what are you laughing at? To this, he answered, that man waving his leg at me. My mom freaked out. My brother never met my grandfather. My parents had never told him anything about my grandfather. There was no way he would have known about his amputated leg. Other weird things would happen too. As my brother got older for example, he was given an old T shirt of my grandfather's that he would wear to sleep. And every time he would wear this shirt, weird things would always happen, like doors opening, simple knocks around the house. I really do think it was my grandfather who was attached to my brother in some way, but things have seemed to calm down since my brother has grown up. I don't know if this means my grandfather has since passed on, or maybe my brother is just no longer as sensitive. Either way, it was definitely creepy. Thanks for reading. Gusta says. See you on the other side.
Emma

Hey, it's Paris. You know I love sparkly things, right? Like stars.
Emma
Duh.
Corinne

The great outdoors meets Hilton hospitality. That's hot. Explore all the new ways to stay@hilton.com Hilton for the stay.
Emma
Wow, that's beautiful.
Sabrina
It is. Waving his amputated leg right?
Emma
And like, how would your brother ever have known that that was something he did? You know? Like, it absolutely is your grandfather.
Sabrina
And I think it also just goes to show how sweet this grandfather was and how just like, kind and silly he was. Because for a child to see someone Random in their house that they're not expecting. And someone with a leg that detaches like a young kid might find that experience spooky, but instead it was super enjoyable. It was entertaining. It was a silly goose moment.
Emma
And I feel like just the simple fact that her grandfather knew it was going to be a boy. I think that there was this connection between the two of them before he even passed away.
Sabrina
Yeah. They themselves are little traveling souls. So sweet little duo.
Emma
I am going to read a story from our listener, Melissa, and it is called the Haunting that has Followed me my whole life. They actually told me to write in.
Sabrina
Why am I Scared?
Emma
Pictures included. Hello, madams of the macabre.
Sabrina
I like this.
Emma
Anyone can call us that.
Sabrina
That. That's for all.
Emma
I adore the podcast. You're doing so much good in the world for us that have had experiences and deal with the non believers. Yeah, we need a support group. This is the support group.
Sabrina
This is the support group for those who aren't believed.
Emma
I'll go right in. I came from a long line of mystics and people who I'll say the veil was thin for. My Nana was my primary caregiver when I was younger, and she told me constantly of ghost stories. And her house was creepy AF so many stories that I'll have to send another email. But her mom, my great grandmother, was a fortune teller in our small town. My mom always knew before anyone else when someone died in the family. And my Nana and my mom were obsessed with ancestry before it was easy, like today. And they spent a lot of time in graveyards.
Sabrina
Wow.
Emma
They were always very stern to teach me to never open myself up to the other side because it opens up everything. And sometimes they don't leave. So in my preteens and in my teenagehood, I never did anything that might bring something on me. I did sneak out for parties, but nothing ever supernatural. Yet when I graduated, like most teenagers, I wanted my own life. And a friend of mine had an aunt in Pawley's island and she was moving there after graduation, so I went with her. Pawley's island is the most documented haunted beach on the East Coast. P A W L E Y S I've never heard of it.
Sabrina
I'm adding it to the list.
Emma
Pawley's island in South Carolina.
Sabrina
Pawley's Island. Okay, I claimed it.
Emma
Stay tuned. So I fit right in in this town. Little did I know my friend had an obsession with calling on the supernatural. So for reasons that aren't mine to say, she needed to see Something to prove she wasn't crazy. So the first week we were on Paulie's island, there she was constantly researching the most active haunted places on the beach. And that is how we found Alice. As I write this, I'm getting skin chills. Alice was from a long line of the founding family in Pawley's island. But she fell in love with a logger. They were engaged in secret and she wore the ring on a necklace hidden underneath her dresses. As legend goes, her father found out and had the logger killed and he tossed the necklace into the marsh. Not long after, Alice died from heartbreak. Legend goes, if you put a ring on her grave, walk in three circles, she will come to visit you at some point.
Sabrina
Oh, I like that.
Emma
So naturally, us being the dumb teenagers, we were decided to wait until the next Friday the 13th and go to her grave at midnight. One smart thing we did do is we went during the day first to get a lay of the land, since we would have had to hop the fence and trespass later. But her grave is just our large slab on the ground, right under a weeping willow and one lamp post. All it says is Alice. It is a rather large historic graveyard. And the morning we went, while we were looking at her grave, there were two historians that worked there and came up to us. They started explaining the history of Alice and her grave, which we already knew. But then they look at me and said that I had an uncanny resemblance to Alice.
Sabrina
What? In the haunted mansion.
Emma
After that, I was ready to leave. That night we got dressed in our good fence hopping outfits and did black football paint on our faces. I'm not sure why, but that's what we did. My friend's younger sister and her friend were coming with us. So it's all four of us. And at the time, my friend drove an Eclipse convertible. The graveyard itself is on one side of the road while the parking area is on the other side at the church, All Saints Church. So we parked facing some large mosaic windows, crossed the street and hopped the fence. We all had headlights and flashlights. My friend proceeds to put the ring on Alice's grave and walk three circles. She says, if you're here, give us a sign. The second she finished the sentence, that lamp post above her grave went out. We all ran. I have never hopped a fence so fast in my life. We left the top down in the car, all jumped in, and as soon as my friend turned on the headlights, all of us saw a woman on the other side of the church, mosaic windows staring at us.
Sabrina
No way. Oh, my gosh. This is incredible, because I feel like so many times legends like this and lore, like, there's you do the thing, but, like, nothing happens. You just spook yourself, right? This feels like there's actual truth to it.
Emma
Well, Melissa was warned to never do this because she is so in tune. Opening yourself up. I froze. My friend flew out of the parking lot, and her sister and friend were crying hysterically the entire way home. We got back to the condo and immediately tried calling our boyfriends at the time, but no texts or calls were going through. We spent a long time trying to get the younger girls to calm down, and then we decided to go to bed. That's not even the weirdest part. The next morning, we all got up, ate breakfast, and I mentioned that I had a really terrifying dream. Before I described it, my friends described the exact same dream I had.
Sabrina
What the fuck?
Emma
Her sister and friend turned pale. They had the exact same one. All four of us had the same terrifying dream. In this dream, we were all running to the fence after that lamp cut out. And when we looked to our right, we saw Alice running next to us, staring into our souls. Ew.
Sabrina
I hate that she was running next.
Emma
To them and staring at them, because.
Sabrina
I'm picturing it as like. There's like no movement. It's just complete stillness, but somehow move. Oh, my God, that's so creepy.
Emma
Needless to say, I moved back home very shortly after this and never wanted to hear of Paulie's island again. I wish I could say it ended there, but it didn't. So when I moved back, my boyfriend and I broke up about a month later, and I went to meet a new guy, and on the way to his house, I wasn't paying much attention. We were playing putt putt, and he mentioned the supernatural. So I told him the story of Alice and he went pale. He lived on Alice Drive. Second instance. I didn't mention this story for a long time because it really freaked me out and I would still occasionally have dreams of Alice. But I was working at Barnes and Noble around Halloween. Two years later, we were all sharing ghost stories, and I told mine. Not even five minutes later, an old man walks up and buys a book about Polly's island and the ghost stories. Guess who was on the COVID of that book?
Sabrina
Alice. She's truly haunting you.
Emma
It freaked me and my co workers out because I had just told them all this story. So the third time, and again, I really hadn't talked about this for a long time. But once again, it's around Halloween, and I'm working for the airlines call center. I'm sitting with co workers at lunch and they're sharing stories and ask if I have one. So I tell and I go back to work. My first call is from a woman named Alice. Fourth instance, I meet my now husband, and eventually I tell him the story, and he laughs and laughs and laughs. We were at a bar. Not even 10 minutes later, a woman buys our table a round of drinks. Guess what her name was. Alice.
Sabrina
Are you supposed to figure something out for Alice? Like, at this point, it feels like beyond just a weird, haunting thing and following thing. Like there's. There feels like some connection between you and Alice, right? Past life, if she needs your help with something, if she's trying to warn. Ooh, what if this is like the buildup of being like, trust, when I come through, it's me to warn her about something that's going to happen in the future. This is like the preconditioning.
Emma
But it's also like, it's interesting because. And I know Melissa said that she's had dreams of Alice over the years, but it feels like every time you talk about Alice and tell the story of how you encountered Alice is when she's like, yeah, and I'm still here. So after this instance, my husband forbade me to talk about this because every time I talk about it, it always happens. Flash forward to 2020 and my mom passed away. Growing up, I had heard so many stories about her grandma that she adored. Who's my great grandma? My great grandma and great grandpa had built the church that my mom is buried at, and she's buried next to her grandmother. During the funeral service, the pastor mentioned them and my great grandmother's name, guess what her name was? Alice.
Sabrina
It's not that common of a name. No, I've never met an Alice.
Emma
I have, but you went by Ally.
Sabrina
But still, like, that's one person.
Emma
So my husband and I immediately looked at each other shook. But now I wonder if maybe it was my great grandmother Alice all along. Oh, and she's saying hello and trying to tell me that it's her and not the Alice from Paulie's Island. Now, recently I was debating on sending this in, and I was listening to an episode and thought, no, they'll never read it. Surprise. The next story you read, right after I had that thought, was from someone named Alice.
Sabrina
Oh, my God. That one gave me chills.
Emma
And last night, I had a dream for the first time in a long time. And in this dream, it Said that I should send it. So here we are. I've attached pictures, and at this point, I don't really see her as a haunting, but as a far away friend. Y' all are my favorite ghost girlies. I thought I was crazy for a long time. Until your podcast. I hope Alice tells you all to read this story. XOXO Melissa. And so we have photos of Alice's grave at Paulie's island, which has, like, a lot of.
Sabrina
Oh, there's a lot of trinkets.
Emma
Her grave. This is a photo of Alice and then a photo of Melissa with her football paint the night that they went to the cemetery.
Sabrina
Oh, my God. Yeah, it's hard because it's like, I don't know. Your grandmother wasn't coming through with Alice things before this, right? Or at least maybe you just weren't connecting how many times you were exposed to the name Alice or.
Emma
Melissa had spent so much of her life never opening herself up because of everything that her family had told her. And then the second she opened herself up, maybe her great grandmother, whose name happened to be Alice, was like, finally.
Sabrina
It's so strange. I know you don't. It seems like you don't have interest in going back to Paulie's island, but I do have questions as to what would happen if you did. Yeah, I'm curious. Okay. I have an email called past relatives not so passed. Hello, lovely ladies.
Emma
I love this episode, by the way.
Sabrina
It's such a good one.
Emma
Yeah. I'm sorry for fighting with you earlier.
Sabrina
I accept your apology. Okay, great. We're fine. If you didn't apologize, we'd still be fine. It was a fake fight, was it? Yeah. Of course.
Emma
Have never, like, actually fought with you.
Sabrina
Hello, lovely ladies. It's been a while since I've actually sent an email in and I figured, hey, it's late at night. I can't sleep. All my terrifying childhood memories are flooding in. Let's just send an email.
Emma
Love it.
Sabrina
I have drafts of tons of stories, but I've yet to finish them out and send them in. But this is one of the many that I have from my many childhood homes. The fun thing is I still have access to this house, and I lived in it for two months this year.
Emma
Ooh.
Sabrina
In my very haunted childhood home. That hasn't changed since I was a kid. It was horrifying laying in that room, knowing exactly what I will see, knowing it wasn't just my child mind making things up for context. This house is one of four houses in a small cul. De sac down a dirt road in the middle of a small town up in the mountains. Okay, so these four houses have been in my family for years. Great grandparents, tia's, tos. Everyone's lived in these houses. My grandparents inherited these houses, and all my aunts and uncles then inherited them as well, along with my parents. And we were raised in these houses for a few years in my childhood. Along with that also comes my older family members having passed in these houses. So of course, they're a little haunted. This means that my family has had tons of ghost stories about seeing their relatives in the houses, walking around the land even. And these are all people who have passed on. On one special account, my very religious grandmother has seen a UFO in this area too. I'm still working on getting that story for you gals, so expect that story sometime in the near future.
Emma
Yes, please.
Sabrina
But onto my story. This little house that I grew up in was a single wide trailer with an addition on it that made it a double wide. My tia Ramona lived in the house across from ours, and my other tia lived to the far right of our house in her own trailer.
Emma
I love that. This is like a little family compound.
Sabrina
It is, yeah. And then there was my great grandmother's house in the center of our three houses. No one lived in that house since she had passed. So basically, it's two old ladies, my parents and me and my older brother around. My dad at the time was working a job that required him to travel to the city and thus left my mother to take care of us by herself. This also meant that she was alone in the house at night. Well, as alone as you can be with two tiny, defenseless children. She would often call her sister to come stay with her so that she wouldn't have to be by herself in this house because it was scary, especially at night. On this particular night, my aunt had come over to keep my mom company, which meant that they would hide in my mom's room until my dad came back in the morning. They kept the TV and the light on, closed the two doors that led to the room because of the odd feeling that crept through the house at night. It was like you weren't really alone, and it felt like around every corner, there was someone standing there watching you. Me and my brother were asleep in my mom's bed, and my mom and aunt were watching tv when they heard someone in the kitchen. My mom and aunt looked at each other and lowered the TV to see if what they were hearing was real. She says that she Heard the cabinets opening and closing, dishes being moved around, and they could have sworn someone was in the house. Their first thought was, oh, shit, we're being robbed. But the fact that the sounds were only in the kitchen was also odd. My mom says that her and my aunt were so terrified to the point that they turned the volume up on the TV just to try to ignore it, because they knew that there actually was no one there, and so if they couldn't hear it, it wasn't happening. Right.
Emma
It's also. I feel like, so close to them.
Sabrina
I know. At least they have the kids with them, too. So you really are just trying to, like, quarantine yourself away. Yeah, in my head, this is terrible logic, but, oh, well. Apparently this went on all night, and the second the sun came up, it just stopped. My mom went out in the morning to see if anything had been moved and noticed nothing looked off or weird. No cabinets were opened, nothing. My dad got home, and of course they told him what happened. My dad is a jokester, so I bet he told them something like, ooh, it was a ghost. Not knowing that that absolutely is what it was.
Emma
Well, I do. It does feel like that's what they thought it was. They didn't think it was a real person, because then they would have been like, we need to get out of here.
Sabrina
Right. Because what robber stays just in the kitchen opening and closing cabinets for hours, making a ruckus? Another story in this house was about little old me. My mom says that one day she was doing her thing in the kitchen, making lunch, zoning out. When I ran towards her in the kitchen, I looked frightened and a little scared, and she asked me what was wrong. I told her I don't want to play in my room anymore because there's a man in my window. Funny thing is, my room didn't have any windows. My poor, confused mother asked me what window. So I grab her hand, led her into my room, and I point at the vanity that I had. It was this old, tall, wooden vanity with a big oval mirror in it. And that is what I started to call the window. I explained to her that the man was watching me play with my toys and wouldn't go away, and he was scaring me. So my terrified mother throws a blanket over it, moves it to the corner of my room that I don't really play in. And to this day, that vanity sits in that room, covered. I have yet to ever look in it again. But man, oh, man, do I kind of want to.
Emma
I kind of want you to, too. Or just send us a picture of it.
Sabrina
Funny thing about this story is when I described the man to my mom, it was the exact description of my great grandpa, who died before I was born.
Emma
Okay, see, that's not scary. No, I mean, it is, but it's not.
Sabrina
Yeah, it is. She likes to think that he was just checking in on me, seeing and meeting me in the only way that he knew how to.
Emma
Yeah.
Sabrina
This last story I'll tell is one of my favorites. It was a very, very snowy winter. The big snowstorm had moved in and basically trapped us all in our house. Being up in the mountains, this kind of weather was pretty normal. And on this night, we'd all gone to bed, and my mom said that she woke up and heard someone walking through the house. She then wakes my dad up and they listen. Thump, thump, thump, thump. The sound of heavy boots moving through the house. My dad gets out of bed, ready to kick some ass, and to his surprise, the house is empty. They both know that they heard someone walking from the kitchen to the back room of the house, but the doors and the windows are locked, and all of a sudden, they hear the walking again, only to realize that the sound is actually coming from the roof of the house. It sounds like someone with heavy, heavy boots is walking along the roof. This couldn't be, because one, there's a crazy big snowstorm that had moved in. So who's making their way into a rural house in the boonies in the first place in a snowstorm? And two, even if there was someone on the house, how the hell did they get up there? And why were they up there? So my dad calls their friend who's a cop to come out and check and see if anyone's there. When he gets to the house, he notices there are no car tracks, no boot tracks to the house. The snow is freshly fallen and clean. Nothing looks weird until he gets to the roof. He said that he found giant boot tracks in the middle of the house, walking from one end to the other. They were also spaced on the roof really far apart, like not normal distance apart. They followed the boot tracks out into the middle of a field behind the house, and then they just stop, as if the person has just disappeared. This, of course, is crazy weird. They were really scared. They were very confused, and that was that. I'm pretty sure it did happen more than once, and my parents just decided to ignore it and let this thing do its thing. Walking around the roof.
Emma
I mean, what can you do?
Sabrina
I know. As always, love the podcast. Thank you for reading. Stay spooky. I'll see you on the other side.
Emma
Rosie, I'm, like, trying to figure out what relative this could be, because there are a lot of deaths. Like family deaths. I know, but you're also in the middle of the woods, which makes me think of, like, Appalachia.
Sabrina
Right?
Emma
What type of cryptids or entities?
Sabrina
I mean, they're not just, like, normal human distance apart. Because at first I was thinking of. Remember we read that story a few months ago or like, sometime within the past year where someone was thinking it was this really terrifying experience, and then they found out it was like turkeys that were just, like, flying between the roofs. And at first I was like, oh, it's a turkey. But it's a snowstorm.
Emma
And there are footprints, huge boot footprints.
Sabrina
And a cop is identifying them. And they're in the middle of the woods too, right? Like, if they saw something, they'd be like, oh, there's just weird markings. There might have been an animal up here. It was boot prints. And, like, the fact that it goes all the way out to a field and then just gone.
Emma
I have no answer.
Sabrina
Very spooky. You guys have inherited some weird things. Some hauntings, some portals, and we're really.
Emma
