Very spooky. Hey everyone. It's hey friends, us, Sabrina and Corinne. Before we get into this, why did this feel awkward? Sorry if I'm making you uncomfortable. We're trying to make you feel comfortable with things that people have questions about. Before we get into this awesome episode of Two Girls one Ghost, we wanted to give you a couple quick little updates from the studio.
Sabrina
You ask, we answer. Or you're confused. We try to help you be less confused.
Corinne
Yes, so basically, we just launched Apple subscriptions, which. Which doesn't change anything for you who listen on Apple podcasts at all.
Sabrina
If anything, the schedule's still exactly the same. You still get episodes the exact same day, week and day that you normally would.
Corinne
Thursdays are encounters, Sundays are regular episodes. Once a month you get a haunted width. Nothing has changed, but you can pay an Apple plus subscription to get episodes one week early and ad free plus plus get one bonus episode per month should you choose. So if you're seeing.
Sabrina
Yeah, those things already existed for a long time over on Patreon. So if people wanna join Patreon, there's a bunch of other options on Patreon too, and like extra bonuses and stuff. But those episodes existed one week early in ad free over on Patreon, but now we're just also including them on Apple. If there's anyone who for some reason doesn't wanna join Patreon but just wants to listen in the podcast app on.
Corinne
Apple, or you're listening on audio and you're like, I want to listen without ads that you have it as an available option to you. So if you're seeing on your Apple feed that an episode is available but you have to unlock it, it's not because it's only for subscribers. It is just one week early and ad free and you can get access to it if you would like. But you don't have to.
Sabrina
Hope that helps.
Corinne
Maybe that gave you more questions.
Sabrina
Yeah, let us know. Are we good at explaining this?
Corinne
We are here to answer whatever questions or qualms you have. Unless it has to do with who we are personally. We can't change that.
Sabrina
Sorry, no. Then you can just gossip on Reddit.
Corinne
Amongst yourself or listen to something else.
Sabrina
But the holidays are coming up and so our Patreon members already know this because it's something that happens annually and we have discussed it over on there. But if you're not yet a Patreon member and you're thinking about it, we do send an annual holiday card.
Corinne
We do.
Sabrina
So if you would like this year's holiday card, just make sure to join Patreon by November 24 with your address so we can send you some snail mail.
Corinne
Yes.
Sabrina
Spoiler alert. It'll be a picture of us.
Corinne
A couple pictures of us with a cute little message from us.
Sabrina
Okay, thanks.
Corinne
That was all to the episode.
Sabrina
Woohoo.
Corinne
Hey, hi ho.
Sabrina
Hey yo. It started, you moved, it went. It was resting on my breast and I did not think our editor would appreciate that. This is two girls, one ghost.
Corinne
Two girls, one ghost and one boob.
Sabrina
Two girls, one uniboob. I kind of have a uni boob in a way.
Corinne
Do you?
Sabrina
Yeah. Well, you know, we have listeners that aren't just female. Maybe she wouldn't get into this, but.
Corinne
Maybe they like boobs. Do you like boobs?
Sabrina
Do you want to hear about my uniboob?
Corinne
Yeah, I do. Well, also, Corinne is talking about her uniboob. Sabrina is enjoying Corinne talk about her uniboo.
Sabrina
Yeah, that's the weird voices that you're hearing. Do we say this is two girls one day? Okay.
Corinne
Yeah. Because it led to the uniboob.
Sabrina
Anyway, it's like just slightly. If you push like right in between, it doesn't hit just bone. There's like it goes in just slightly. It's like my skin is like so pulled taut. So you have skin that there's like a little bit of extra. Yeah, I guess there's not breast in.
Corinne
There, but like, maybe it's breast tissue. We don't know.
Sabrina
Maybe.
Corinne
We don't know.
Sabrina
Third boob, one girl, three boobs.
Corinne
Now I actually really do appreciate people who have been calling us mothers.
Sabrina
Mothers. Oh, you know what? I did get insulted by my own child, who has not yet called me mama. But today Brian said something about a cow. Do you want to find your cow? And he turned and pointed at me.
Corinne
Is that an insult or is that the nicest thing ever?
Sabrina
I don't know. I do love cows. And he loves cows.
Corinne
You probably mooed him a lot.
Sabrina
I do moo. And I did make milk at one point, so.
Corinne
So you've got others like, damn.
Sabrina
To be roasted like this by your 16 month old. Can't say. Mama skips over me when I ask, asking who anyone is in every photo. Doesn't care. Then it's like, where's the cow? Oh, the cow's in the kitchen. She's over there.
Corinne
I love that so much.
Sabrina
Thanks.
Corinne
That's actually a great segue into today's theme for encounters. It's creepy. Kids, does your kid call you a cow or do they say, there's a ghost under my bed and I'm staring at you?
Sabrina
Well.
Corinne
Well, maybe both.
Sabrina
Okay, this is called the Little Girl in the Mirror. I recently found your podcast about a month ago, and I've been obsessed ever since. I'm currently listening to episode 10 as I type this. That is wild.
Corinne
I really, truly. After listening back to that one episode, I don't know how anyone has made it through here. Because while you exude great storytelling, I exuded insecurity, instability.
Sabrina
That's wild. I haven't.
Corinne
Insanity. I never.
Sabrina
No way. Even with editing back.
Corinne
But I sound terrible, so.
Sabrina
Okay.
Corinne
But also, thank you all for listening.
Sabrina
It was because you refused to commit to a better microphone after I had one for a long time.
Corinne
No, it has nothing to do with what I sound like. It has to do with how I speak.
Sabrina
Oh, that makes me sad. I think you're just.
Corinne
No one literally at our live show said it's Been so amazing to see. Like, I can hear your confidence, like you've come into yourself. And I was nice.
Sabrina
That's really nice. I wanted to watch your journey if.
Corinne
You stick around long enough.
Sabrina
She speaks with conviction now. Okay. This story is about the most paranormal encounter I've ever experienced. Let me start by describing a little about who I am.
Corinne
Okay.
Sabrina
Hi, my name is Edith.
Corinne
Hi, Edith.
Sabrina
I come from a Mexican family and I live close to the border. We visit my grandparents often in Mexico. And let me say, this Mexican culture I can attest to it has many beautiful traditions with so many cultural and spiritual significance. But we are no strangers to the paranormal. Growing up, I learned paranormal does not necessarily mean scary. And ever since I was little, I've always been told, fear the living, not the dead, as they can't hurt you like the living.
Corinne
I actually really do agree with that.
Sabrina
Usually, yeah, the living 99.999999% of the time.
Corinne
Right. And the dead can be scary, but the living is more harmful.
Sabrina
Yes. Well, and the dead were once living. So it's like you see the evils of living. Yes, true. Okay. Ever since I can remember, I've considered myself a susceptible person to and for spirits. When I grew up, I always felt like there was someone who wasn't there somehow watching me. And as I entered a new place, no one else could see them, but I could feel them. The cozy and beautiful home of my grandparents where this story takes place was no exception to this feeling. Many of my hometown friends can also attest to having experienced something paranormal happen to them after meeting me. And I do feel like this is connected to this particular spirit I love.
Corinne
Like, if you want to have a ghost experience.
Sabrina
A friend, Edith continuing. I was about 7 or 8 years old and we were staying at my grandparents house in Mexico. The room was tiny, no privacy room. And the best way I can describe it was there was no door. It's kind of in the middle of the hallway by the stairs, meaning you'd have to go through my room to get to the stairs and to the second floor. There was a bed, a closet, and a mirror. Vanity. Now that vanity, specifically the mirror, is one that's important in this story. And a little backstory about this mirror is that my grandma's neighbor, who is my uncle, he has a kid. So my cousin, and this kid is a couple years older than me. This mirror belonged to him at first. And every time I would go visit the house, the mirror would always be covered with something like a towel, a bed sheet, A blanket, et cetera.
Corinne
Sus.
Sabrina
He used to say, I don't like it when I see the little girl. And we all grew up really close, and many times we would tell each other the stories or myths or legends of La Llorona, La Nahuala, Duendes, and so on. And so I always thought this comment about the girl in the mirror was just another attempt to scare us. So I never really believed it.
Corinne
It's one thing for it to be an attempt to scare you by just saying, like, oh, I don't like the little girl I see in the reflection, but taking the extra step of constantly covering this mirror, right, Means it's real, it's not just a fear tactic.
Sabrina
So this particular occasion, my uncle and my cousin were renovating their home. They had handed the mirror to my mom, and she later put it in my room by the edge of my bed. Not directly, but at an angle, so you could see the mirror from the bed. I never believed my cousin's story to be true. It was nothing to be scared of. Maybe just the mirror, but I was asleep one night when I had the feeling of someone staring at me. And so I woke up, and there at the edge of my bed, between the bed and the mirror, was a little girl who weirdly resembled my face. Now that I look back at it, she was wearing white and a pink ruffle dress, standing there staring at me.
Corinne
Is this something you own now?
Sabrina
Not looking evil, but almost translucent and with a curious stare towards me. Wait, if she looks like her, but she was a little girl. This now makes me think, like, what if she died? A child watching her.
Corinne
Oh, that's kind of cute.
Sabrina
From what I remembered, I. Well, also. Okay, now I'm interrupting myself again. But also, like, this was in the family, this was the cousins. And so it does make me wonder, like, what if this was an ancestor too?
Corinne
Because, right.
Sabrina
I feel like sometimes it takes a few generations, but if you look like four or five generations back, it'll be.
Corinne
Oh my God, you're really like the.
Sabrina
Win of your great, great, great grandmother.
Corinne
Yeah.
Sabrina
From what I can remember, I stared at this little girl, confused as I just woken up and I wasn't really feeling scared. She then told me, come on, Edith, let's play. To which I replied, we can't, it's night. Without thinking, I was now realizing I was speaking to a translucent little girl. Then curiosity got to me and I had to ask this girl how she knew my name and what was her name? To which she replied, my name is Maria. I'M always here, you see. I'm always watching and keeping an eye out for you.
Corinne
So creepy. But also, that's such a nice message.
Sabrina
I know.
Corinne
I'm always keeping an eye out for you.
Sabrina
She probably didn't say it as creepy as I did.
Corinne
No, but I liked it.
Sabrina
Peter, I wish I could tell you that I got scared and that she vanished, that she got back into the mirror. But truly, I don't know. I blinked. She was gone. So naturally I assumed that I must have just dreamt it. And so I fell back asleep. Weeks passed, and I didn't mention this to anyone because again, I thought that this whole interaction was a dream. Then, November 2nd. A Mexican and some of you may or may not know, but all Mexicans know what November 2nd is. Day of the Dead. Via de los Mutos. A beautiful celebration said to bring our past loved ones from the spiritual realm to visit us just for one night. People put up altars ofrendas for their loved ones to come home to. So we used to go to the cemetery to spend some time with our loved ones during the day. And then we would put up an altar which we considered a portal for them to cross over to in our homes. This particular Day of the Dead, I accompanied my mom and my grandma to the cemetery as my grandma liked to put freshly plated flowers on the tombs of family members. I've gone with them to this place before. However, this was the first time that my grandma said at the very end of our visit to this cemetery that she was going to go see La Nina, the little girl.
Corinne
What?
Sabrina
I asked my mom who La Nina was, as I'd never heard of her before. And I thought that we had already visited all of our past family members. And my grandma got a head start. A couple of feet in front of us and we're walking behind her. My mom explained to me that before my mom was born, my grandparents had a little girl who had been born stillborn, who they had buried there with my grandma. What was her family? As we approached the tombstone, this tiny tombstone, a newborn's tombstone. It was so tiny, the grass almost covered the entire tombstone. It had been at least 32 years since she had passed, considering that my mom is now 30. We got to this tombstone. They removed all the veins in the grass covering the name. And that is when I saw it. Maria. She was a little girl, my mom's sister, my aunt. I just had the feeling that I knew she was the one from the mirror. I came home that day, sprinted over to talk to my older cousin who had said all those years before about the little girl being in his mirror. So I asked him about his mirror, not giving too much detail, but just that I had an interaction with her and I saw her name on a tombstone and he simply smiled at me and said, oh, so you saw her too, right? The little girl with the white and pink dress. You saw her, right? I hadn't said anything about her dress or the colors, so I knew that he wasn't lying. He too saw Maria. Maybe she'd interacted with him a bunch before. So I told him everything and we felt like we finally had somehow figured out that this person was protecting us. He also said that the mirror would make noises at night and it does kind of sounds like a mouse is scratching on the wood drawers, but there's nothing in them. I never did see the little girl again. Years later, the mirror is still in my room in my grandparents house. I grew accustomed to hearing the scratching noises and even sometimes I would call out loud to her say, I know I heard you. I know you're here. Can you stop the noises? And the noises would stop, so she would stop. I guess she hasn't interacted with anyone else since. Or so I've been told. Even though I haven't seen her for years. I've never been comfortable staring at myself too long in this mirror. Maybe it's because I know someone else is in there staring back. I don't know. And I don't know if either my grandma or my mom have seen her. I don't think so. They would have mentioned something, but again, I don't know. I saw a photo of my mom when she was around the age of six, which is around the age that I saw Maria appear in the mirror. And they look like two twins, which is fair considering that they were both sisters. And people later in life told me that my mom, when she was born, had been identical to Maria when she was born. Hope you enjoyed the story. Best wishes. Love the podcast and its listeners. Love Edith. Edith.
Corinne
It's very sad, but I do love that there's an answer to this. And this almost is more heartwarming, which I saw that people are requesting more heartwarming stories. And while I can't promise the rest of this episode is gonna be heartwarming.
Sabrina
Oh, I will start delivering those, don't you?
Corinne
Well, I did set the next ENC episode theme to be heartwarming.
Sabrina
Heartwarming. Okay, great.
Corinne
Yeah, so we will deliver that to you. But this one is really heartwarming. And while it's sad and it involves the loss of a child. I love that there's an answer that the spirit said her name was Maria, and Edith then got the answer who it is.
Sabrina
And it's almost like she was waiting for just the recognition of who she was to be satisfied. You know, she was appearing.
Corinne
She's going to continue to look out for them.
Sabrina
Right. But it seems like she appeared a bunch to the other cousin.
Corinne
Yeah.
Sabrina
Because he was so scared. So maybe she just needed the moment to be like, no, no, no, you.
Corinne
Know, it's me, Maria. Yeah. I'm not here to scare you.
Sabrina
Oh. So I read that line wrong. It shouldn't have been creepy. She should have said, my name's Maria. I'm always here. You see, I'm always watching. And I keep an eye out for you. Not I keep an eye out for you. I'm watching you shout out to Maria.
Corinne

Sabrina
Wow. Hi, Jalen. Hey, thanks for emailing.
Corinne
Hey, ghostesses. I just started listening to you girls and now it's all I do. You helped me get back into witchy things and haunted vibes is all I crave. Now I listen to you while I'm studying and when I'm home alone. Great. So I have a couple of things here and there that have happened at my old house that is haunted. And here are two major stories. The first story Happened when I was around 16 maybe. I was at a sleepover with my best friend who sadly has since passed away.
Sabrina
Oh, I'm sorry.
Corinne
And our other friend. So it was just the three of us. My best friend, her name is Anna. And I loved to walk around her neighborhood at night. I know it's sketchy, but she lived in a nice neighborhood so we weren't worried about people interrupting us. But me, I lived in a haunted house, so I was more worried about paranormal things happening. That night, all three of us snuck out at around 3am and we went walking. There's a park in this neighborhood and there's a spooky dark road next to a line of trees to get there. I hated this road because it gave me the heebie jeebies as it would anyone. There's the park right next to the houses. Like the park is practically in their backyard. There's a parking lot with a median and on the right side were the tennis courts and a basketball court. We decided to sit in the basketball court because it was too dark near the playground and we were honestly too scared at our grown age of 16. Plus the basketball court was fenced so we'd have a layer of protection from whatever was out there. So now the real story begins. All three of us are sitting, we're talking on the ground, when I just happen to look up and I see something. Something is over by the playground. A little boy in pajamas walking toward the side. I immediately tap my friends and I get their attention. Y', all, what the fuck is that? They look. And this little boy curls up on the slide. We're immediately spooked. But I guess womenly instincts kicked in because I get the idea to just get a little bit closer and see if it's a real kid. I mean, if it is, it's 3am Is he okay?
Sabrina
Right?
Corinne
So I open the gate and like he.
Sabrina
He could be spooked too. Like he's curling up on the slide, like, oh no, people are coming.
Corinne
Or even like he ran away from home and now he's curling up to the slide, sleeping there, you know, like that is something that like a young kid I feel like would. So I open the gate, I walk towards the median that divides us. It's brightly lit by street lamps. I yell out, hey, are you alright? Are you lost or something? This boy slowly sits up, but he doesn't say anything. I'm terrified. It's 3am and we're by ourselves and there's this random kid out here freaking us out. I Back up. And I start telling my friends that we should go. I said, I don't know what the fuck that is. So they immediately start packing up our stuff and we get our things together and start speed walking out of there. Of course, we kind of have to pass the playground to leave the park. And as we're leaving, I'm watching the kid, I have my eyes on him, and he completely vanishes as I'm looking at him.
Sabrina
Okay, honestly, this is best case scenario because I was really nervous that there was a child, that they were just spooked enough that they just left a kid who maybe did need help.
Corinne
Well, it gets worse. It's scarier. It's the paranormal scary. I kid you not. I swear, I watched him completely disappear. So I report this to my friends and we walk even faster, and all of a sudden he reappears from the ground and starts sprinting at us. We freaking book it, dude. Screaming and hightailing it out of there. We get back to the main neighborhood road with the lights and immediately we start talking about it. We all saw the same exact thing. We all witnessed him disappear and reappear and saw him start sprinting directly at us. We thought maybe he was sleepwalking and that he ended up at the park or he snuck out of play. But what scared me into not believing any of that was that his complexion was gray.
Sabrina
Oh, this poor baby.
Corinne
He was all gray. Like there was no color to him at all. Not even the pajamas, not the blanket he had with him, nothing. It was all fucking terrifying. And it spooks me out just reliving this. It was one of the scariest encounters. But like I said, I live in a haunted house, so. So I have more. The other scary ish story I have was with two different friends. I like how we both picked not necessarily creepy kids, but ghost kids for these ones, because I think my next one is creepy kid. Okay, so this next story I have is with two different friends. I live in Richmond Hill, which is like five minutes from Savannah, and there's a military base that has park areas and a major river. I can't think of the name, but you can access whatever. All three of us decided, let's be spooky, and we drive out there at night. We sat at a picnic table, just chilling, decided to walk to the dock, look at the river. So we all walked. At the end of the dock, we're making jokes, laughing, when I saw something floating in the river. I point it out to the rest of us and we all three see It. It looked like a body wrapped in a cloth. We knew what it looked like, but never mentioned it out loud. We just watched it float past us on the opposite side of the river, and then it disappeared. So we decided pretty easily that, yeah.
Sabrina
It'S time to leave.
Corinne
And we left and never mentioned it again. So now my last couple of encounters. It's what I want to mention from my haunted house and content warning. This does involve death by suicide because there was a man who was in the military who had died in the house that I previously lived in, and he died by suicide. We knew this because our neighbor who had lived there when the man died, saw the ambulance and everything. So a couple short things. I do think the spirit is pretty nice. He didn't terrorize us, but definitely made it known he was there. One night I had Christmas lights hanging up and a section of them fell down and I was too lazy to hang them back up. So they were down for a day or two and never did anything weird. But one night, I'm half asleep and I hear a whooshing sound. I look over to see the lights swishing back and forth in the corner. There's no wind, nothing. No fan overhead. But just for a good three minutes, these things are swishing back and forth, being moved on my wall. So I get up and I hang them back up. Which I imagine means the guy's like, fix these lights. Get your room back in order.
Sabrina
But he's also, like, standing right there on top. Come up with each other now.
Corinne
I saw a white figure mist walk into my closet one time and a black mist in the same closet. One night, I was sitting in my chair in my room upstairs when my mom came in and asked me to stop stomping around up here. I said, what? I've been sitting here reading the whole time. She said that she was downstairs right below my bedroom, and it sounded like a herd of elephants stomping up here. I was terrified and went downstairs with my mom because I was too scared to be alone.
Sabrina
I remember that.
Corinne
Alrighty. It's currently 2:56am And I'm delirious. So I hope you guys enjoyed the experience of the ghost kid. And I can't wait to hear your thoughts. Stay spooky. See you on the other side, Jaelynn.
Sabrina
That is really spooky, especially in the middle of the night. But then this also makes me sad for this kid because I'm like, what happened? I know what happened to him. This is, like, something that has been affecting me a lot. Like, I Feel really sorry for ghost children. But I feel like I actually, over the past year, motherhood, it must be. I, like, can't consume true crime that has anything to do with kids.
Corinne
I know.
Sabrina
Like, it's like, it deeply affects me. Like, last night, I, like, spiraled and got so teary and in this, like, horrible depression from a true crime story that I'd heard about years ago about a toddler, it just, like, re. Entered my. And I was like, I. Like, this is horrifying. I can't believe anyone could possibly do this to anybody.
Corinne
I know.
Sabrina
So now I'm like, what happened to this kid who was just trying to be on the playground and he's going to the blankie.
Corinne
I know. It's interesting because you. You used to have the outlook of any ghost. Kid was a demon. And I feel like that has changed significantly since you've become a mother because.
Sabrina
Yeah, I'm so sensitive now. I used to be hard, hardcore, no emotions.
Corinne
But now you're a mother. No. It does make me sad because it does sound a lot like a kid who ran away from home, curled up in the slide and, like, what happened to them?
Sabrina
Right.
Corinne
And they're scared.
Sabrina
I have to move on from the story. I'm sorry, I can't.
Corinne
Well, tell us a different one.
Sabrina
Okay. Ghost with abandonment issues.
Corinne
Is this going to help? I feel like this is going to make it worse.
Sabrina
Oh, they're all bad because it's themed kids.
Corinne
Yeah, but if you date a creepy kid, then that's less.
Sabrina
This is, like, creepy adjacent.
Corinne
Okay. Okay. Okay.
Sabrina
Hi, friends. I love the podcast and the community that you've created. I've been listening since the beginning, and I feel like we went through all the big life steps together from working and being in grad school. Listening to Corinne talk about the same thing. Wedding planning, early motherhood, homeowning. I feel like all of us are just friends every time we listen.
Corinne
Insecurity. It sounds like you relate to Corinne. And then it's like, there's that bitch over there. Divorce.
Sabrina
Which half the people.
Corinne
That's true.
Sabrina
Some people are also going through.
Corinne
Some people relate.
Sabrina
So my story is kind of a combination of a lot of little things for some backstory. I moved into my house in December of 2022. Our house is old, but it's not that old. It was built in the 30s, so there's plenty of time for ghosts Still.
Corinne
Anything can be haunted. Anywhere is haunted.
Sabrina
When we first moved in, I noticed that I would hear some sort of, like, fun, swanky cocktail music playing really faintly.
Corinne
I love that.
Sabrina
Wait, that's crazy, because, remember, I went through a period of. I kept hearing, like, old jazz music.
Corinne
You also were hearing, like, leprechaun music.
Sabrina
Well, that's Irish, so sorry for insulting the Irish.
Corinne
Well, you heard, like, little voices, too. Oh, yeah, it was like the combination. It was here.
Sabrina
Okay.
Corinne
Yeah.
Sabrina
Sometimes I get confused what happened where it sounded like a pretty little song and I opened the window wanting to hear more and for it to be louder. But that's when I noticed that the music was coming actually from inside of my house. So I walked around everywhere trying to see if I could hear it from any certain point, and it seemed like it was coming from the den. And it felt really nice, bright, fun, that sort of energy. It didn't feel menacing at all. And then a few days later, I was taking pictures of my cat in the den, and I noticed that there were some pictures that were out of focus, but all of these pictures had colored orbs in them. Of course, I googled it, and the green and orange orbs mean healing, comfort, psychic development, and basically all around good vibes. Okay, so this fit perfectly with the music and the energy that I was feeling a few days before. And there were never really anything else that happened since moving in besides the music and the positive feeling in the air. But then about two years later, I found out that I was pregnant and my baby was born the day before Halloween. Spooky. Already obsessed with cats love, so needless to say, she fits right in with a spooky club. Anyway, we decided to sell this house about seven months after she was born. And that is when things started to pick up. I was showering and my comb that I have hanging on a square pole started to swing around. And I thought, that's weird. And then I kept showering. It started swinging even harder back and forth now. And, guys, this is a square, AKA a flat pole. It's almost impossible for something to swing on it. It is square. I turned around and I finished my showering, pretending like I didn't notice this because new moms rarely get to enjoy a hot shower. So I was like, I'm not wasting this time that I have.
Corinne
Yeah.
Sabrina
And after I got out, I went to the comb and tried to swing it to see if I could make it swing like it was before. And it just fell straight onto the ground. So cool, cool, cool. Other small things like the closet door opening during the night, my baby smiling and waving at empty corners, and weird noises have since started to happen.
Corinne
They don't Want you to leave?
Sabrina
No, I have been ignoring it. But then there was last night. Our friend gave us one of those play pianos for my baby. It has a hard plastic switch that you move back and forth to turn it on and off. It's pretty hard to move, so my baby can't really do it alone. And it can't accidentally be turned on by the cats. Well, around 1am we were all asleep when that thing started to play on full blast. Not only did it turn on, but it was switching back and forth between instrument types. So piano, saxophone, xylophone, violin, back to piano and playing real music.
Corinne
Like someone was actually playing.
Sabrina
Yeah. Confused and half asleep, I got up and turned off the white noise machine, thinking that maybe that was the problem. It was glitching or something. Then my husband wakes up, looks at me and goes, it's the piano downstairs. We just stare at each other for a minute before I go, well, that's creepy. I'm not going down there. It'll eventually turn off. And I crawl back into bed. It played for maybe 30 more seconds before it turned off. You know, I never understood parents in horror movies ignoring things and going back to bed. But now, after not sleeping through the night for almost a year, I completely get it. No one has the energy for ghost hunting at 1am no. Anyways, the house closes in three weeks. Let's hope the ghost doesn't start stepping up the abandonment, temper tantrums. And that they like the buyer. See you on the other side, Kendra.
Corinne
Okay, well, we're gonna have to get an update because this was sent in the summer. It's been a couple months.
Sabrina
And it's like, is your child still waving at nothing? Like it. Did the ghosts follow you? Do you have new ghosts?
Corinne
Or is your kid just a creepy.
Sabrina
Kid and ghost just sees the dead.
Corinne
People, sees the ghosts around. Interesting.
Sabrina
Learns piano from a ghost. I mean, musical prodigy. And you're like, actually, she's just been.
Corinne
Taught the ghost for years. Prodigies are. That's a whole. That's spooky, supernatural lives category. Yeah.
Sabrina
What do you. Or like, what plane are you tapping into?
Corinne
Right. It's so. It's like down a dark hall.
Sabrina
Yeah.
Corinne
Or who's tapping into you. That wasn't a terrifying story.
Sabrina
I feel like that was creepy kid adjacent where I was like, you know, there's spirits around a kid who can see them.
Corinne
The house likes the ghost or likes the ghosts.
Sabrina
The toys are being played with.
Corinne
Yeah. They don't want you to leave.
Sabrina

Sabrina
Am I the problem?
Corinne
Am I the problem?
Sabrina
Yes.
Corinne
The answer is yes. Correct. You are Taylor or Tay. We get to call you by your nickname. It's called Am I the Black Eyed Child Sleepwalking and other things. Hello, ghostly ladies. Here's a story that I was reminded of while listening to encounters232 that I guess I blacked out. I too slept, walked as a child. And apparently I scared the shit out of my mom. Much like the one listener story Corinne shared. I guess I was just meant to be spooky in life. What can I say? So I was at around age 3 to 5 when these events occurred and my mom and I were living alone in an apartment. So she's a single mother raising her one heathen of a child. Who's me? That's me. I'm the heathen. My mom used to tell me stories about how she would be woken up by me sitting on top of her in bed. I'd be prying open her eyelids with my little fingers and my face was inches away from her face, uttering the most terrifying phrase she could probably imagine. I see you. As Noah's like, yeah. Could you imagine, like your eyelids being pried open?
Sabrina
No.
Corinne
By your creepy little child.
Sabrina
And that would be so scary too, if you're like in a deep sleep to just be awoken like that. I will say, I don't think that that will ever happen to me because our floors are so creaky and old. Like you can't step anywhere without it squeaking. I'll hear anyone coming.
Corinne
Well, what's worse is by the time my mom would fully open her eyes, I would be nowhere in sight.
Sabrina
What the.
Corinne
She would get out of bed and go check on me. And this all occurred between midnight to 3am she would get to my room. She was hoping to be on my ass about being awake, but I would be fully asleep, fast asleep in my bed.
Sabrina
Wait, I don't know. Were you sleepwalking or were you like astral projecting or is there body being. Ooh.
Corinne
There was zero indication that I had possibly been awake. Not even for five minutes. This happened so many times and I personally can never remember doing it, but my mom can never forget.
Sabrina
Oh my gosh. Wait, that's so creepy.
Corinne
I.
Sabrina
There's no way it was them. Like, how do you. I. I see you mom opens. Like mom's eyes are being opened and she's gone, so the other eye opens.
Corinne
Little Tay is literally on top of her mom. So like her. Her mom can feel her pre. Like her body on top of her. I do think that what made the situation even scarier is just, you know, my general appearance. I have very dark hair and dark eyes that are nearly black. Thanks to my indigenous genetics for making me a real life walking black eyed child. So. However, there are some events from living in this apartment during this time that I do remember. And for some reason, they all occurred in that same room that was my mom's bedroom for the majority of the time. We did even switch at one point, and as you'll see, we switched back. One event from my possible sleepwalking that I remember and my mom does as well is that we pieced together later in years and considered the possibility that this wasn't a dream. And if it was, how the heck do we explain it? Because we shared the exact dream and exact experience from two different points of view on the same night. This story occurred one night when my mom was woken up by the sounds of me walking around in the hallway right outside of her door. We both slept with our bedroom doors open. So my mom opens her eyes and sees me padding around the hallway with something or things that I was dancing and playing with.
Sabrina
What the.
Corinne
My mom also remembers there was this red hue to the scene, like it was backlit by a red light.
Sabrina
This like, also reminds me of Haunting of Hill House. I feel like we were referencing it a lot recently, but like the scene where the mom is dancing and like waltzing through the abandoned home, she couldn't.
Corinne
Explain what she was seeing, but she knew it made her very uncomfortable and felt not right and that whatever I was interacting with in this dream was not human and she felt as if she was not supposed to be seeing this. It also feels very nutcrackery. She summed it up to a side effect of her migraine medication or just a very vivid dream. But now from my side of things, I remember being in the hallway interacting with a small little gremlin. These things were dancing and jumping around, pulling at me. And they were fun, but at the same time, I didn't like them. And they were human, just like my mom had observed. I remember all of this happening in a very red like, hue. Like there was a glow over everything, making the shadows of myself and these entities look even darker and bigger. But I kept this to myself for a very long time because I considered I'm just a child and I was easily scared. And my mind could conjure this myself. But it wasn't until a few years ago that my mom brought it up and I basically finished her sentences and we shared a look of what the fuck? So we experienced the exact same thing.
Sabrina
This reminds me so much of you. Like you and your dad.
Corinne
Yeah. Okay, one last story about this apartment. And again, that particular room. I remember playing in the room and there were windows on the walls. One looked out to the back of the apartment and one to the side of the apartment. As we were on an end unit, I remember looking up to the window that was on the wall that looked out to the side of the apartment. And I saw a man looking into the window, his face pressed against the glass, staring directly at me. I screamed bloody murder because I have a good set of lungs. And my mother ran up immediately, but she couldn't understand what I was screaming at as I was pointing to the window, but there was nothing there. I told her that there was a man in the window and he was looking in, that he was staring into the room, watching me.
Sabrina
Oh, God.
Corinne
She immediately ran out the back door to go find this man and basically tell him off because he's watching her child through a window. But there was no one there. No one around the apartment complex. It was the middle of the day on a Saturday. People were just minding their own business. There was no one outside. I also never saw the man actually walk or run away from the window. He was just there and then he wasn't.
Sabrina
Oh, my God.
Corinne
So, yeah, those are my spooky stories that I've gotten brought up in memory so far as I've listened to your lovely podcast, which has become my new obsession. I've always felt a little spooky and I've always loved the paranormal, despite always believing that I've never had any interactions. But now I'm even more open in my beliefs and have started to explore a more witchy side of myself, given some of the things I've been through in life. Thank you for creating a space that allows us to be open to explore more and just talk about things that might not be accepted by others. I'll update if anything else comes back to me. And maybe I'll have to write in on my interactions with the misogynistic ghost at the cemetery near my house who loves to boss me around via ghost tube when I go and visit.
Sabrina
Oh, my gosh, boss them back.
Corinne
Until then, I'll keep enjoying your podcast in this life and hopefully I'll continue to on the other side in the future from Tay.
Sabrina
Wow. Yeah, that's really creepy.
Corinne
Yeah.
Sabrina
And also, like, kind of magical at the same time to just be interacting with all of these creatures and spirits.
Corinne
But where were the gremlins trying to take her?
Sabrina
Right?
Corinne
True, because she was having fun, but then it was also like she was scared of them, which makes me think that they were putting on an actual. But beneath it was something menacing. Right. It does make me think of the Nutcracker.
Sabrina
And then what's the other. What's the. Where, like, Clara or whatever she's supposed to be watching her, like, baby brother or baby sister. And then she gets taken by David Bowie.
Corinne
What? Claire is taken by David Bowie.
Sabrina
Labyrinth.
Corinne
You know, I've never seen it.
Sabrina
It's super weird.
Corinne
She's taken by David Bowie.
Sabrina
Yeah, he is. I don't even know what he is. He's like the Goblin King. And he wears really tight pants. You can kind of see his junk.
Corinne
Does he play, like, himself? Like, he's actually David Bowie?
Sabrina
No, no, he's the Goblin King.
Corinne
Okay, so is David Bowie playing the Goblin King? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Okay.
Sabrina
Yeah.
Corinne
I was picturing, like, this is, like, real life David Bowie, like, people seeing Elvis in near death Experience.
Sabrina
But it's, like, kind of inappropriate because, like, she's, like, flying 14 or 15 and he wants her to marry him.
Corinne
I mean, that's kind of like Beetlejuice.
Sabrina
Exactly, exactly. And there's all these, like, creatures.
Corinne
It has a 95% on rotten tomatoes.
Sabrina
It's like a cult classic, but I feel like it's one of those cult classics where, like, you had to watch it when you were young and, like, of the era in time to be obsessed with it. I'm gonna watch it tonight because I watched it in adulthood. I'm scared to say it because I think people are gonna be really mad. It's too weird.
Corinne
But you Also watched it as a kid and then watched it again as an adult.
Sabrina
No, no, no, I only watched it as an adult. I think if I watched it as a kid, I that like nostalgia and been like super into it.
Corinne
Well, I'm gonna watch it.
Sabrina
Yeah, let me know. It reminds me a little bit of that.
Corinne
I've been listening to all the radio because I never really listened to Radio Rental and now I've been watching or now I've been listening to them.
Sabrina
I listen to all of Tenderfoot TV and I listen to podcast and you listen to none. I'm always, I'm like always up to date, but.
Corinne
So I've been listening to one speaking on the topic of creepy kids, Laura in the woods. Do you remember this one?
Sabrina
Is this where she was hiding and something told her to run?
Corinne
No, this is the one where this kid would like play in the woods of their neighborhood and there was this one kind of different looking house in the neighborhood and he'd play out there and then all of a sudden there was a little girl and she would smoke cigarettes with him.
Sabrina
Hide the cigarettes in the tree.
Corinne
Hide the cigarettes in the tree. And I won't say what happens next, but it is so it's scary because whatever. Whatever the truth is, if it's a ghost child, if it's the mother or.
Sabrina
Mom pretending to be a child, hidden.
Corinne
Child, like any of those options are terrifying, super disturbing.
Sabrina
Yeah, that one's really.
Corinne
I'm getting Chilly Willy.
Sabrina
Really gross thinking about it. That's a good one.
Corinne
Anyway. Okay, what do you have next?
Sabrina
Okay, this is a story from apartment 803. Oh, okay. Dear Ghostesses, I've been absolutely obsessed with your podcast since I discovered it a few weeks ago. My husband travels a lot for work, so you two keep me company when I'm home alone.
Corinne
We're your temporary husband.
Sabrina
And also it's like you're home alone and you're like, oh, let me listen to ghost stories. Brave, very brave.
Corinne
Fucked up. I don't know. Unhinged. We love it.
Sabrina
You make scary stuff feel oddly comforting. Okay, a bit of backstory before I jump into my story. I was born in Venezuela. I have one older brother. And a lot of strange things happened during our childhood. My aunts used to see duendes, so goblin like creatures from Latin American folklore in the bathroom mirror while getting ready for nights out. And our nanny always complained about having to clean up the kitchen every morning after the sad woman would make a mess during the night.
Corinne
Oh, she's just sad. Crying, eating food.
Sabrina
Yeah, She's. She's the midnight snacker. Oh, sad snacker. I even remember my mom once yelling and shouting at an invisible man, telling him to get out of her house. Not dare come near her children. Personally, I've only experienced one unexplained event. Seeing a man's reflection in a turned off tv. A witch later told me that it was a spirit passing by who stood still to look at me because he thought that I was pretty. Which, maybe that's flattering, I think, but you're a child. Yeah, yuck. Well, I think a child. I don't know what her age was here. My brother, though, he's always been a magnet for the weird. When he was just a few days old, toys without batteries in his nursery would start singing and moving at night immediately.
Corinne
Three days old.
Sabrina
Three days old.
Corinne
Damn.
Sabrina
He saw shadows, heard strange noises, and even swears he once saw an extraterrestrial being standing in front of him. He tried waking up our parents, but they wouldn't budge. Almost like they were in a trance. And once a witch even told my mom that she had a brujito. A little wizard as a son.
Corinne
I love that. A brujito.
Sabrina
But there is one story in particular that I really wanted to share. When my brother was about a year old and he just barely started to stand, my mom left him and her sisters while she went to work. My aunt left him playing in his room while she did some chores around the apartment. And they were living on the eighth floor, apartment 803. Every few minutes, my aunt would peek in and check on him. But on one check in, she found him sitting in a flower pot hanging outside of the window. Outside on the eighth floor.
Corinne
And he just started to stand.
Sabrina
He just started to stand. He can't walk. Panicked, but trying not to startle him, she gently coaxed him back inside by playing a freeze or you lose type of game. Oh, my God. And when she and later my mom asked how he got out there, he would just say things like, little boy and friend and play in pool. None of this made sense.
Corinne
This?
Sabrina
Yes.
Corinne
If there's a little ghost boy luring fake, this is now where I go. It's not a real child ghost luring saying like, let's go play in the pool by jumping out the window and it's literally picking him up.
Sabrina
A few months later, my mom and my aunt became friendly with some neighbors who told them about a tragic event that had taken place in the building years earlier. Oh, no. A woman had jumped from one of the windows While she was pregnant with a baby boy and both died. When they asked what apartment it happened in, the answer made their blood run cold. Apartment 803.
Corinne
Well, this just breaks my heart to this day.
Sabrina
My brother remembers playing with this little boy who told him to come play in the pool. He remembers looking down and seeing more kids by the pool and heard a boy say, jump. Let's go. Here's the creepiest part. There was no pool in that building.
Corinne
I have so many more stories at a point.
Sabrina
I don't know. Have so many more stories. I'll send another time. Keep rocking, fur.
Corinne
I mean, thank God you guys survived that apartment.
Sabrina
Yeah. This is terrifying.
Corinne
That's horrifying.
Sabrina
It's very like Babadook in a way.
Corinne
Oh, that makes me so sad.
Sabrina
Luring kids, luring families, like, trying to make them repeat the thing the others before have that's happened to them, which.
Corinne
Really does make me think it's not the spirit of the woman and her son.
Sabrina
It's like something else that has, like, fed on this tragedy. Yeah.
Corinne
Okay. Well, I don't really know how to pivot here, but there was a TV show called, like, it doesn't exist anymore. But I loved it. It was like, apartment 666 or something.
Sabrina
Like that from when we were young.
Corinne
Oh, 666 Park Avenue. It came out in 2012, and I loved it. They only lasted one season, but it was basically this gorgeous. It kind of had Rosemary's Baby vibes, where it was this gorgeous apartment complex. And a lot of the people who moved in wanted to be creatives of some kind. And as you can imagine, 666, there's some devil stuff happening, But I feel like it was really. I mean, I don't know. I haven't watched it since 2012, so I don't know how it holds up. But I really loved it, and I wanted to know what happened. I wish it still existed. Oh, shoot.
Sabrina
So was it like an artist commune?
Corinne
No, it was just like a New York apartment. But everyone who lived there, once you moved in, people started becoming really successful, and people were successful who lived there because they were making deals with the devil.
Sabrina
Oh, shit.
Corinne
But it's like, what did you have to sacrifice to make your success? And so played with that.
Sabrina
I do like, all of the conspiracy theories with, like, celebrities and stuff where it's like, what deals did they.
Corinne
Yeah.
Sabrina
Make? And there is some, like, weird. But also, I don't like to talk about it too much because then I get scared that I'm Going to be killed anyway.
Corinne
Who here believes in conspiracies? Okay, I actually. I had an idea one time. I want to play. I want to play a game. Do you want to play a game?
Sabrina
Do you want to play? I never do.
Corinne
No. But I want to do a live stream on Instagram or something. Or maybe we can just do it on Patreon, where it's like a who do you think? And it's kind of like with our listeners we present, it's almost like two truths and a lie, and they have to guess which one of us it's true about.
Sabrina
Oh, that's fun.
Corinne
And we like.
Sabrina
It's a good twist.
Corinne
And they can challenge us or between us, who's more likely to. And get our listeners based on what they know about us from the years of our podcast.
Sabrina
Are we gonna get in fights with you guys?
Corinne
I think it would be kind of fun.
Sabrina
It would be fun.
Corinne
What do you perceive of us? Do you think I'm as insecure as I was back then, you know? Well, no, I've changed. I've grown. Yeah.
Sabrina
Yeah, you're not that anymore.
Corinne
I'm not that girl anymore. Not that ghoul. If you loved these stories as much as we did, guess what? You can catch one more of these stories on Patreon, because in our 10 tier on Patreon, which is pretty new, we're so. We're. We're dabbling, we're. We're figuring.
