that I think you will all love. I'll start with the sad news and then I'll give the good news. The sad news is, and some of you have probably seen this on social media, but I'm going to talk about it briefly because I will probably cry if I talk about it for very long.

My sweet little girl Leah, my cat

of 13 years, did sadly pass away on July 4th. So many of you have shown so much love for her, for me, for her over the years and just she's. She's been a part of this podcast and it's been so special sharing life with her and I really thought I would have more time with her. Unfortunately, she had some pretty severe cancer that by the time we caught it, it was beyond fixing or helping her. And it was really, really sad. But this leads into the good news is, as I was saying goodbye to her, it was before Corinne had her baby, which is the good news. I asked Leah to go be Baby Manduke, our newest member of the family. I asked Leah to go be a guardian on his team. So yeah, the good news is that Corinne had her baby, Teddy. He was born July 7th and everyone's healthy and doing well, Corinne is home and recovering with Teddy. Noah has met his baby brother and we're very, very excited. And I really do hope and I believe that Leah is looking out for Teddy and is on his team and that she will always be here. And truly she will always be a part of the podcast because she let herself be heard.

Teddi was born July 7. Corinne does not want to share photos or anything, so please respect that choice and her privacy in that matter. But yes, everyone is healthy, everyone is happy, and we're so excited to have another creepy little kid as a part of two Girls, My Ghost family. That also means that Corinne is on maternity leave, which we pre recorded so many episodes, like basically all the way through the end of October so that you as our listener don't notice anything strange. We are running as per. Per usual. It will just seem like Corinne has the gestation period of an elephant. But yeah, we pre recorded all of our episodes except for a couple. And this is one of those episodes that we left unrecorded. And I got to bring on some special guests for the episode. And you'll probably recognize them because they're fantastic. They're great friends of ours and also amazing podcasters who we have so much respect for. Yeah, it's very harmless. We one night I got a little drunk and put on movies from the other celebrity that passed in my home. And I'm chatting with her, and after that, her activity decreased.

It doesn't go to a landfill. But then it's like, okay, like, my kids, their kids didn't want anything. My family didn't want anything.

You just have stuff that no one wants. But then I know some people that have, like, their great grandmother's big chest of drawers. Like, that is so cool to me. Like, the old original, like, really masterfully crafted, like, wood pieces.

Let me start by saying I have lived in the Appalachian Mountains my entire life and have experienced a lot of strange things. My family was Irish and settled in West Virginia, but I currently live in the North Carolina portion of these wonderful mountains. That being said, I have learned a lot about what really lurks in these dark woods. But this was like nothing I had ever experienced before. It all began with my golden retriever, Ozzy growling. He literally never growls, so that already had me uncomfortable. But this growl was bone chilling. It was like he was getting ready to have a fight for his life or something. So I took him and my other dog out around 11pm and Ozzy wouldn't leave my side. I noticed that my workshop door was open, so I walked down to close it and lock it up. And the entire time Ozzy was glued to my side. He also kept trying to get in between my legs, still growling, all of his hair sticking straight up like a feral animal. The second I closed the workshop door, all hell broke loose in the woods. It sounded like 50 full grown men had broken out into a full sprint tearing through the woods. Trees were shaking, branches were falling. Truly in my life I have never been that scared. We sprinted back to the house. I barely made it without shitting my pants. I got my pistol and mag light to figure out what the hell was out there. And when the dog and I got back outside, we were surrounded by what sounded like people mumbling. It was everywhere. I shined the light all over the woods and I couldn't see anything, but the sound was coming from all all around. It truly sounded as if you got into a full gym of people and then everyone was mumbling. You could almost make out words, which is why I don't think it was an animal. But I also had this like sick to my stomach feeling like a mix of a panic attack and the full on flu. Back inside the house all night it sounded like people were walking around, windows were creaking. You could clearly hear the sound of shoes on the gravel outside the house. And that mumbling never stopped. Every time I got up to check the house, my feet would touch the floor and it would go dead silent like you couldn't hear birds, crickets, frogs, nothing. I was terrified and I didn't sleep a wink. I'm looking for any answers as to

This wasn't the normal spooky stories my grandma and great uncles used to tell me.

And I was just reading another story where that was happening. Like, people hearing more, like, singing and chanting and rhythmic drums in the woods, which is what kind of.

be falling something up there.

Because this is, like, such a combination of things.

But then it feels like, what do we have Bigfoot up in the tree? Right. What are we, like, what are we working with up there? That then the dog is having such a visceral reaction.

Like, the UPS guy came up and left. But, like, the dog. But he. And it's just. Yeah. So I'm like, what are you hearing? Or like, how far away is something? How big is it?

Well, in the way that they were mo. Moving, too. Like, they're up in the trees and then they're down making gravel crunching noises in the driveway.

But then also, the second that this Reddit poster looks outside or does anything like, the sound and whatever's there, you can't see.

Yeah. What do you think it is? Like, in your experience with.

I don't know.

It's Appalachia. So, you know, it's just.

It could be anything, like, wild. With all of the Cryptids in Appalachia, they were like, let's all meet in this middle of the woods. It's like when, you know when in high school, you're like, oh, we're gonna go meet in the woods and have a party. But all the Cryptids in Appalachia decided this little.

We had gravel pit parties. Yeah.

You know What I just had. This is like a side tangent, but it's still Appalachia. But I just did an episode on the Wampus cat in Appalachia. Have you heard about, like, the black cats in Appalachia?

So there's so many. I went on such a deep dive. I don't even know if this episode is, like, interesting to people. Cause it's just my, like, I mean, anything in Appalachia at 2 in the morning. There's all these Reddit threads on Reddit.com where people are like, I saw this giant black cat in my backyard and I went and like, in Appalachia. And I told people about it and they're like, no, you didn't. And then this one girl, like, literally. So I start talking about that in the episode and all the comments are people being like, wait, at my job. I told my supervisor that there was a big black cat, like a panther in our parking lot. And they went outside and said it was a turkey. What?

Shape shifting.

And so the, like, Bureau of Land Management out there or something like Fish and Game came forward and they're like, everyone who thinks you see big black cats in Appalachia. No, you don't. We don't have any. Like, they have mountain lions, but there's no big black cats in Appalachia. And all the people keep being like, yes, there are. We are seeing these things everywhere. But no one will admit that. So, like, people, it was crazy to see, like, the comment section on that video because everyone's like, I feel like I'm going insane. Like, I keep seeing these cats and people tell me that you're not.

Yeah, but there's also just so many entities that it could be. Like, I think. And I'm only going to say this word once people get mad at me, but Skinwalkers.

And like flesh pedestrians.

Yeah. Flesh pedestrians is the. We can. The approved word to say, but we don't understand the rules that they follow.

So a lot of people in the comments were thinking, what did they say? Bigfoot. Okay. So one person said, this sounds similar to stories I hear on Sasquatch Chronicles. The human sounding words, the sound of walking around at night. The loud crashing through the woods, dead silence, and your dog's extreme fear all lend to these stories. And this is why I picked this for Corinne, because she loves Bigfoot, famously.

I'm a Bigfoot believer. Me and my mom, we talk about it constantly. I think there's some of those legends that are just, like, have been corroborated so many different times and places and locations. There has to be. It has to be real. And it shows up in so many

different cultures, too, around the world.

I want to believe in Bigfoot. I just. I think it's wild to be able to just, like, disappear, which is why I'm like, if it exists, it has to be an interdimensional being.

It's like Burning Man. But I was like, I really. And I looked up this place and there was like, some sort of like,

It's like, around Slab City. I don't know if anyone's camped there, but apparently it's like a whole thing.

This is the thing is sometimes things that people like humans do is a little bit more unknown to me than the paranormal.

Okay. There was one other theory that was interesting. Someone said it sounded like you might be dealing with an upset forest spirit. It sounds more metaphysical, which would explain why it left you alone. But forests, mountains, rivers, all places like this have spirits who call it home. And places with more powerful spirits are considered sacred. And that's something about Appalachia that everyone talks about. It's like there's this ancient energy at work that we don't understand. And that's why the native tribes are all like, you respect the land. And if someone. Even if the original poster didn't disrespect the land, but someone around there did. Yeah, right, right, right. Did it trigger.

I've been through it, but I don't think I've spent a prolonged period intentionally.

I would just love to go. And, like, I just want to. I don't know, I want to just feel that energy.

I want to go. So my grandfather's from Taft, Tennessee, Like a one stoplight town. And he. I talk about this in one of the heartstars pounding episodes, but he, like, lived on the edge of these woods in Appalachia, and he. It was just him and his mom growing up, and his grandparents and his mom told him, like, there's a witch in the woods behind the house. Like, you can't go back there.

I want to be that witch in the woods.

And he and his friend would. They would dare each other to go in the woods, and they'd run up to the tree line and they'd always hear like a scream, like a guttural scream when they get to the tree line. And they'd have to run back.

And what they ultimately found out was like, witch or not. No. So it was. They had a neighbor who, like, intentionally would put. They had like, a clothing line and like a big bow that they would, like, what, play like, a violin? So it would make this, like, kind of screaming sound to get the kids to not go in the woods. Because they were, like, also trying to warn the kids to not go in the woods.

Well, okay, that's like, protective. That's great.

Which is protective. And so the. What they. When he grew up, he's like, I bet there was some sort of, like, moonshine opera, like, operation in the woods. And, you know, moonshiners will kill people if they come upon. Because it's illegal. And so, like, I feel like.

And it's like, not that pagans are witches, but, like, there's so much folklore that, like, has transcended and, like, gone, you know, generation to generation. So it's like, honestly, there could have been someone that like Hansel and greteled kids out in the woods and. Yeah, it's those stories just.

Okay, so this one I think we're gonna have a lot of thoughts about. Oh, I'm excited for the conversation on this one. So I did read this on an episode, but I want to hear your thoughts because it did bring up a lot of conversation. So this one is called Man Tried to lure me to a place that didn't exist. Exist?

[Jordan]

Nope.

[Kaelyn Moore]

And it starts when I was around 25 years old. I was working at a tiny restaurant that served desserts. It was a pretty hidden and quiet location, so I was there alone on the mornings. On one occasion, a man walked in and I recognized him from the night before. He had been there with his wife and his grown children. The only other time I had ever seen him. This time he was alone and he began to talk to me. Everything seemed like the typical small talk, but he kept Commenting that I looked 19 and saying that he could help me, that he could get me a job that paid seven more dollars an hour than what I was making at the time. I was intrigued at first, so I asked for the name of the company, getting kind of excited. But then he would just keep talking and he would never tell me the name. Then he began talking about how he's had all these affairs and that his wife knows about them and is okay with it. Mentioning that he had an affair once with someone who was 1902. Oh, now that girl was happily married and to this day she. She thanks him.

At this point, I started getting creeped out, but he would not stop talking. He would not stop pestering me about this job, telling me that I should apply, but still not giving me the name. He would tell me the overall area where the company was, which was by the outskirts of a city, but avoided the name. Kept telling me to follow him after work so that he could get me in, probably to be hired on the spot. I told him my car was getting fixed so my sister would be picking me up anyways, so I couldn't that day. But since he wouldn't take no for an answer, I eventually decided to tell him that I would just so he would leave. But as soon as I did, he changed the goal and now he was telling me that I should just go in his car with him and that way they would see me arrive with him and would hire me right away.

There's so many red flags to this.

In between all of this, he randomly shows me a white paper that was supposedly his license to carry. Very random. He also finally gave me the name of the company. Eventually I told him I would go with him and he should come back at the end of the day when I was off. I did this just so he would leave.

I went to the back and I looked at the name of the supposed job and there was nothing. I used Google Maps to search the area that he mentioned, and no, not a factory, not anything. Once my time to leave arrived, my sister picked me up from the side of the building and as we drove away, he had indeed come back. And he was parked near the location around the corner. I never saw him again. I was recently telling the story to a friend of mine, and I do deeply regret not reporting this. I had issues with dissociation due to past life experiences, and although I was 25 at the time, I was much more naive than a lot of 25 year olds, you never know what people are about. Especially with him showing me his license to carry. I hope that me not reporting it did not get anyone else hurt.

My biggest takeaway here, though, is like, you can't blame yourself. And also, unfortunately, in this situation, like, the legal system's not set up to do anything.

I mean, something.

One day it's gonna work on someone for sure. Someone else is going to be a victim of whatever he's trying to do.

And if the sister wouldn't have picked them up, he's there watching. What is he gonna do? Just swoop her into the car? Like, you can't blame yourself at all because unfortunately, like, these people, if they're bad people, they're gonna find a way.

Like it's. Yeah.

Yeah.

They're gonna find a way.

And you have to protect yourself.

And I don't know what it is, but, like, I think I try in situations that really make me uncomfortable, I just, like, try to placate and play along to hopefully, like, get through it quicker.

Let me just get out of the situation now and I'll figure it out. But the, like, I mean, never go to a second location with a person that was absolutely right just to get him to leave and not go somewhere with him, because that's when you're really in trouble.

But they use these tactics to be like, well, why won't you just take the auditing thing? So next thing I know, or next thing you know, I'm like holding the sticks and being like audited on the thing. And they're like, oh, what's the sticks?

No, there's. In Scientology. It's a very specific name. It is auditing. That's what they call it, Auditing. So you hold them and they're connected to a thing that's like reading your energy. So they'll ask you to remember, like a traumatic memory. And the little lever starts going crazy because they're like, oh, it's upsetting you.

And then they put me in the classroom, and then I had to take the class. I ended up being able to finally leave.

Yeah, this is insane. So it is Illinois, and the. The examiner was Wesley Hyland. And so there was like, a murder case, and he was the examiner on this murder case, and he kept her skull. And so when he just passed away, he just passed away, like, somewhat recently. And the family's going through all of his stuff and found at least three skulls. And so they just returned the skull of this girl that was murdered to the family. And the family tried to sue, and they can't because you can't sue legally. And it's just like. It's such a mess. But all that to say, like, there's so many just sickos out there, and it's just like, how do you stop them? Like, it just. Stuff like this keeps happening.

I, 24 male, have lived with my roommate Carl, 24 male, for two years. A few months in a rooming with him, he told me he was pansexual. I said, okay, cool. I'm not interested in that personal information nor am I judgmental. I just said, all right. A few times over the last year he asked me if I have ever considered experimenting with other men. I said nope. Also, I said I didn't feel comfortable with him asking me such personal questions. It's not like we are close friends. We are only roommates by happenstance, basically. Anyways, every time I said this, he basically said, we'll see.

I was like, what? Anyways, last night I had a horrifying experience. I heard a noise under my bed. It was movement. At first I thought I was imagining things, but then I heard it again. I thought, oh God, is it a mouse or a rat or some shit? This was like 3am So I got out of bed and I looked under with my phone flashlight. Now this here was the most startling moment of my life. I guess I am lucky because I have never before. This moment felt true terror and fear as a physical sensation. But I was completely jolted. There under my bed was my roommate staring wide eyed at me.

Oh my God.

And he screeched when I looked under the bed.

I literally thought I was having a heart attack. I then just started hearing, quote, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. My roommate crawled out from under the bed crying, apologizing over and over. I was so creeped out and afraid that I ran out of the apartment in my pajamas. There was a Dunkin donut that was open 247 a few blocks away from Duncan.

Thank God, Dunkin to the rescue.

So I just sat in there with a decaf and a breakfast sandwich with my heart thundering away. My roommate kept texting me, asking to talk. I ignored it in the text, he found a way to horrify me even further. He confessed that he had been sleeping under my bed a few nights a week for, quote, three to four months.

Why confess to that?

I know.

And that he was doing it to get closer to me and physically saturate each other.

My intention is to simply not renew. This dude is blowing up my phone, though. And I'm getting texts from other people, some friends of mine and some bozos who are friends with him. He is going around telling people that I shamed him and that I am rejecting his apologies. Some people are claiming that I'm overreacting and I'm invalidating his feelings. Most people agree he was improper, but think that I should work it out with him and give a second chance because he's sensitive. I feel like I'm losing my mind. And I'm seriously 20% convinced I am experiencing a long lucid dream of some sort and wondering if I'm going to wake up or I'm in a coma or something. Because this shit is so insane to me. Like for sure. It reminds me of this one story I read on Reddit that was like, it's the most Reddit story ever. But it was like, it was literally like an am I the asshole? Like my husband has this kink. Like, am I the asshole for shaming him for it? And it was. His kink was literally he would go to dinner like with her family, like a family dinner. And he would stand up in the middle of the dinner and go, oh, I seem to have peed myself. And he'd be so he had a pee kink. And that was like his thing. But it had to be in front of people.

It was an embarrassment.

That's where I draw the line. Like, if it's consistent other people are not consenting to and now you to them.

But that would make me feel so unsafe, like, moving. Like, the trauma that you get from that, that every night I went to bed. Even if you had a lock on your bedroom door and all your windows were closed, I would feel so unsafe going to bed.

Like, I. It would be really difficult to come back from this trauma. And, like. Yeah. And it's like, how is he getting in there so sneakily and quietly and three to four months or whatever. I'm like, no, we've been living together for two years. You've definitely been doing it longer.

The dog would, like, lick her hand occasionally, but one night she's, like, scared, and she keeps hearing this dripping noise, and she, like, keeps, like, putting her hand down to check on her dog, and she, like, is getting licked. And then in the morning, she, like, wakes up and finds the dog dead in the shower and in its blood. It said, people can lick, too.

So vulnerable that, like, the paranormal stories around, like, I was in my bed, woke up, saw someone like, oh, that stuff really gets me.

There's a whole, like, Facebook group about sleep paralysis that I joined. And that's like, It's a terrifying.

And I have done the Parent. I've done this podcast for nine years, but for some reason, I'm there by myself. I go, I do.

And then I had committed. I had said it out loud. There's a group of strangers being like, okay, this girl's playing a game I have to do. So I, like, go up. And she's like, okay, you have to repeat after me. And I basically played essentially a Bloody Mary, but the bloody Mackenzie version, where you're calling him forth, like, the whole thing is taunting him, being like, come out, I dare you. The whole time in my head, I'm like, I'm joking. Ha ha. I don't actually mean it. Intention means something.

I don't want this.

I don't want this. Nope. Nothing happens in that moment. And I go home that night. I'm staying at a hotel. I'm by myself. I like FaceTime my nieces to, like, you know, just, like, get rid of whatever bad juju I have just invited. And then that night, I fell asleep and I had a terrifying nightmare that I'm walking through the streets of Edinburgh, and I'm walking down one of those little, like, alleys the closest, and all the people start moving away. And I can feel there's someone at the end of the close staring at me. And it's like I start to feel pure evil and dread. And I look and there's this entity with, like, melting features. And I woke up and I was like, I don't like that. It felt very real. Like, it felt like, oh, something's, like, letting me know it's around. I said, you're not welcome here. No, thank you. Like, not doing that. And I, like, felt fine enough to go back to Sleep. I flip over onto my stomach and truly immediately my entire body was frozen. And I feel what feels like hands on my ankles, heels slowly start to move my legs apart. And I'm what the. Fully awake. Like, it's not like, oh, I flipped over and started falling back to sleep.

That's only a way.

I think that was a visitation and

I was paralyzed and I was like screaming, stop. No, no, no. And it probably only lasted 30 seconds if that.

But 30 seconds, that feels like a lifetime in something.

And I. I land my legs back together. Finally I was able to like say no, like out loud. And at that second, I was able to close my legs and I like flipped over, turn lights off. I said, no, you're not allowed here. Like, get the hell out of here. And didn't have anything after that. But I 100 believe it's because I taunted.

Even if it wasn't bloody.

No, they were sending a message. They were sending a message like, you think you're gonna be funny? We'll show you funny. Yeah, that was. I like, I hear that and full blown chills.
