Si Robertson
I am unashamed. What about you? We cranking this baby off?
Jason
It's already been cranked off.
Si Robertson
We already been cranked off. I wanted to tell Maggot I got the talent.
Jason
It's not Maggie. It's Maddie.
Si Robertson
But Maggie Insane works, but totally unashamed.
Jason
Insane but unashamed. That would have been a better name. Maybe we need a segment when size on. Call it the Insane Unashamed.
Si Robertson
Because you like.
Nan
Because we got the hills down.
Si Robertson
And Murray and Jeff were treasure hunters.
Jason
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Okay. Yeah. Well, you were. I got a question for you. Yeah, What? What? In your opinion, what is the greatest treasure on this earth?
Jason
The greatest treasure on the earth?
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Jason
It. It was not from the earth. It had a divine, heavenly origin.
Si Robertson
That'll go along with the pod.
Jason
I'd say the money wise. Well, my favorite. My favorite treasure, I would have to say is a gold or silver coin.
Si Robertson
So. Yeah, here's what. Here's. You know, you got. I think they said you've got, what, seven wonders of the world. Or is it eight now?
Jason
Well, it's eight with your daughter, but not counting her trace.
Nan
Wonder of the world. She came from you. You. It's a wonder.
Jason
I mean, are we sure about that?
Nan
Still s not a little girl in Germany.
Si Robertson
There was one of them that I come up with. The fountain of youth.
Jason
All right.
Si Robertson
And guess what? Uncle Sa knows where it's at. And we'll get into that later.
Jason
I want to hear get into it now.
Si Robertson
We're going to get into what we going to do here today.
Nan
That's right.
Si Robertson
First of all, I'm fired up about being here today.
Nan
Oh, we s. We love having you on And Zach bolted on us, as as usual.
Jason
Now, so we have. What is that?
Si Robertson
A.
Jason
A three pronged approach. Yeah, Me, you, and Zach.
Si Robertson
I know why that Zach. No. Okay. Because Zach's very intelligent.
Jason
Okay.
Si Robertson
And then you've got the uneducated country bumpkin.
Nan
You're saying he's. He's tired of being dumbed down with us.
Si Robertson
That's what it says.
Jason
No, I'm just saying he's like, well, I need a day off. Well, you don't have a day off. I don't have a day off.
Nan
Right.
Commercial Announcer
I mean, we're still working.
Jason
Where's the day off? How does that play into that?
Nan
I wish I could just phone it in, is what I'm saying.
Si Robertson
Hey, God ain't never said you get a day off.
Nan
No, there you go. That's exactly right.
Jason
But he's like, well, I need a day off, but I'm sending a replacement.
Nan
Yeah, well, Maggie did that. She. She lined up and fellow was supposed to be here, but he had to work, so we got sighed, which we're excited about.
Si Robertson
So.
Nan
So you got this. There's a king cake on set.
Jason
Jason, there's no story here. Your daughter and I have an arrangement that was never.
Nan
We never arranged because today is Mardi Gras. So it's the last day for king cakes. You realize that, don't you?
Jason
So there's a little company here.
Si Robertson
Oh, so Ann made that. Nan made that?
Nan
No, she. It's better than this. Listen to this story.
Jason
You're right. She made it happen. There's a little hole in the wall bakery. I don't.
Nan
Downtown West.
Jason
Giving them some publicity because good luck getting one of these.
Si Robertson
What is this?
Nan
It's on the. On the ticket there. On the. What does that say?
Si Robertson
Well, hey, we got a guy that we play poker with, and he brings one every once in a while.
Nan
Yeah, these people make the best.
Si Robertson
No, no. And he brought one, and it was excellent.
Jason
The name of it is Castor and chicory. I don't even know what that means.
Nan
It's like. That's a coffee flavor. So it's like a little coffee shop.
Jason
But when I was a kid, if I got in trouble, I had to drink castor oil. Wasn't that.
Si Robertson
Wasn't that.
Nan
Yeah, Castor oil chicken is a kind of.
Jason
Whatever this. Whatever the recipe drink is.
Si Robertson
We only had got a tablespoonful.
Jason
Well, that was the drink.
Si Robertson
I'm just saying. Well, I can see you turning up a bottle of casserole.
Nan
And look, you talking about cleanse the lower bowel tract. That's.
Si Robertson
That's.
Nan
Yeah.
Si Robertson
So it's gonna break something loose.
Jason
She just. I mean now, Al, talking about wonders of the world. I mean, your daughter, she's amazing.
Si Robertson
Who.
Jason
I think when I was in charge of D Commander, which was a short stint, and you're like, what happened? I didn't want to be in charge. I just looked up one day.
Si Robertson
That's the way I was.
Nan
You didn't want to be in.
Si Robertson
They left me in charge. And then they never liked the decision I made. And I said, well, hey, you idiot, it's your own fault. Guess what? You left me in charge.
Jason
Yeah.
Nan
That's why you never got past a. E8 in the army, right?
Si Robertson
No, not only that, I knew from. For me. Knowing me, okay, E7 was the best for me.
Jason
So how many. How many numbers does the military. So you are an E7.
Nan
Was that how hacking.
Si Robertson
You got too high. E8 and E9.
Jason
Well, you were pretty close.
Si Robertson
Well, no, no, I could have made it.
Jason
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Except for this.
Nan
Okay, if you're listening, he's pointing to.
Si Robertson
If I could just zip this and just go with it, it'd be okay. But I've always got to give you my 2 cents worth. And hey, they didn't never like my 2 cents.
Nan
I always asked Jason, I do events together. It's been a minute since we've done one. And I would always ask him if we were doing a Q A. Says I tell them how many CEOs you had that knew what they were talking about. He said, two.
Si Robertson
Yeah, I had 21, 25 years high ranked people. Yeah, two of them understood me. We never had any problems. I said, rest up with a bunch of dummies.
Jason
That's because if you're in a position
Si Robertson
of leadership, you need to be able to look at a man and know how to handle him. Yeah, well, they didn't know how. They didn't know what to do with me.
Jason
Well, si. You're putting them to the test. You know, because I've been knowing you my whole life and I wouldn't. I wouldn't. You're named after tackle that, you know,
Nan
so tell the story, Nan.
Jason
Well, what she does, she'll. She. Because I think this goes back. The reason I brought up Doug Commander is because what I would do is gather all the employees and I would point to your daughter and say, be more like her.
Nan
Yeah, she doesn't say much.
Jason
Kept her mouth shut. Look, she kept her mouth shut, which you have a problem with that, which is why we class.
Si Robertson
No, see My whole family growing up and said, hey, you got an authority problem? I said, no, I don't. I said, I've got a stupidity problem.
Jason
Well, that diagnosis, if you're in charge
Si Robertson
and you're stupid, yeah, you gonna have problems.
Jason
Oh, I thought you were being self deprecating.
Si Robertson
No, no, but there's a theory about my daughter, okay, the theory is they said, hey, somebody, they had to switch babies.
Jason
Well, that's what I've always thought, but I didn't.
Nan
There's, there's a, there's a woman, There's a Harvard 50 year old woman in Germany and people are saying in German they're trying to figure out how she fits into their family. And they're like, she's the eighth wonder of the world. Because we've never seen a girl that talks such nonsense and crazy stuff.
Si Robertson
And Tracy called me, you know, we were talking and she said, dad, I need a favor. And I says, well, what do you need, darling? And she said, I need you to call me tomorrow at about 2 o' clock and I want to have a conversation. And she said, and it's being recorded and it's being shared as we're talking. I said, oh, okay. So she calls me, she's in class with her kids because she was, she's a teacher now. Yeah, she was teaching now. So she was walking around checking her students and somebody said something about, you know, Uncle Sigh, you know, and they asked her, said, do you watch Duck dancing, Miss? I can't thank her.
Nan
Cobra.
Si Robertson
Yeah, but anyway, she said, she said, no, I don't watch it. She said, that's my father, you know. And I said, you're the biggest liar.
Jason
Can you blame them?
Si Robertson
So, so I had to prove to her by calling and saying, okay, it was proof.
Jason
Proof of lie.
Nan
Well, nobody would ever, if she could never convince anybody based on how she looks. And how is the show you should have done?
Jason
Y' all should have just gone around the country.
Si Robertson
I told her in front of the class you asked, was talking on the phone. I said, well, darling, here's the thing. I said, look, I look in the morning in the mirror every morning when I'm getting ready to go out to face the world. I said, you need to do the same thing. There's no comparisons between us, okay? I said, you're drop dead gorgeous, articulate. And I said, she's very, very, very intelligent.
Jason
Intelligent.
Si Robertson
And I said, hey, beautiful things don't go with this.
Jason
No, it's really, now that I've thought about it, we might have discovered One of the greatest evidences that.
Si Robertson
No, I thought we found the missing link.
Jason
Yeah, this is. Yeah, I mean, this has to be divine.
Nan
I says all the time, if you're not sure there's a God, look at me. How many times have you said, you
Jason
say, if you're doubting there's a God, look at my daughter.
Si Robertson
Yeah, no, because I'm with the crowd, like 10,000 people, y', all. I'm speaking to him. And I said, I said, hey, look, everybody close their eyes. I said, now and clear your mind. I said close your eyes and clear your mind. I said, now open them. And I said, and really look at this old man and known as Uncle Si.
Jason
Yeah. I said, because hey, it's called shock and awe.
Si Robertson
I said, a lot of you have a problem with the word religion and I don't blame you because the world has taken the word religion and it's not, it's non existence anymore. Yeah, I said, but y' all need to look at me. I said, because I'm living proof that there is the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit. And look, all three of them are alive and well and doing the most amazing things. Yeah. What's the most unlikely person in the world?
Jason
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Cures, truly.
Christian Healthcare Ministries Spokesperson
So I'll be honest with you, for a while I just assumed that health insurance was one of those things you just don't question. You know, you pick a plan, you pay the bill and you move on. But the more I thought, thought about it, the more I realized that really doesn't align with how I want to leave my family. And it was incredibly expensive. And that's when my family and I started looking into Christian healthcare ministries. Chm, it's a Christian alternative to health insurance that cost about half of the traditional marketplace plans. And yes, the savings are real and we've definitely felt that in our monthly budget. But what really mattered to me was that this is a non profit ministry. So I'm not paying into some company's profit margin. I'm actually joining a community of believers who share each other's medical burdens financially and also in prayer. There's also real freedom too. You know, we're not stuck in a limited network. We can choose the doctor, the surgeon, the hospital. That actually makes sense for us. CHM offers four flexible, low cost programs for every stage of life. And you can enroll or switch anytime without waiting on open enrollment. And with CHM's care solutions, you get access to virtual visits as well. Prescription savings, surgery support and more. You know, being a part of A of a community of believers. It comes to providing health care for my family, it really did change the way that I view healthcare. And I was extremely surprised about the cost difference. So why limit yourself for no reason? Make the switch before getting locked into another insurance plan. Start today by visiting chministries.orgunashamed and use promo code WELLNESS for 50% credit towards your first month. That's chministries.org unashamed and use promo Code Wellness.
Si Robertson
If you asked me, I said, hey, I've told people all the time, no, look, I'm on an uneducated, redneck country pumpkin. And I said, now see, I said, you don't understand. I said, it's bad enough being just a redneck country bumpkin, but then you throw it on uneducated. I said, you've just tripped. And I said, and you fell into the Twilight Zone.
Nan
I don't know what that means. Now, I will say this. I'm very close to both of psy's kids and their families. And so Scott, on the other hand, his son is a mini me. Career military. I mean, he's so much like si when I talk to him, it just. It cracks me up. Who is this, Scott? Your son?
Si Robertson
Okay. No, he's a clone.
Nan
Yeah, he's a little clone. He's a mini me. So definitely, however, the blood work there, the DNA, I'm not sure, but I love what he's doing now. He's being trained for some horse therapy. He was career military, but Scott was deployed, I think, four times in the Middle East. And I mean, just saw some really rough stuff that whole era of his time as a soldier, some of the roughest ones. I know a lot of you guys listening served during that era, and it was a lot of tough stuff. And so he found a horse therapy, which is a big thing in counseling now, which is really, really good. And so he's being trained in that. Which I'm super excited about his future. Yeah, we spend a lot of time
Si Robertson
actually, you know, because I asked him when they come to visit me and Thanksgiving this year. Yep. They was talking about it and said, well, you know, Marshall says, it's. It's where I work. It's what's making me have regular episodes with my psd.
Nan
He struggles with ptsd and.
Si Robertson
And, you know, and I said, well, here's the thing. I said, what. What do you. What would you like to do? And he said, well, we're thinking about, because we've been doing part of it. And he said, I've got to go to class and all this stuff for education, you know. And he said, I want to fool with horses.
Jason
Yep.
Nan
He's doing the training and so.
Si Robertson
And he's doing.
Nan
He's doing great.
Si Robertson
So I asked him when he come in, I said, well, okay, here's the bottom line. I said, has this really helped you already? He said, oh, yeah. He said the episodes started just going away.
Nan
Yeah.
Si Robertson
And he said I was having them like every two weeks. I was going through something and it was the stupid machinery where he worked.
Nan
Yeah. It's amazing what can triggered. And so I was telling them when we. When he and I first talked about it, we had about two hour conversation. And I got a friend of mine who has. He's in the Nashville area, but he's out of Nashville about an hour. But he has a horse farm that he bought and he's a counselor. That's what. He's a therapist. And he has a whole thriving business. There are a lot of people with addiction, all kinds of stuff, ptsd. And the horses are part of the whole therapy. And there's something about them. We've talked before on the podcast about, or maybe it was the Hillsdale podcast. We were talking about animals and relationship to human beings. There's something about that. Way back from the beginning in the garden, you remember how the relationships were, and then they changed because of sin and because of what happened. But there's some connections we see with dogs. For sure. Horses are the same way. And there's a. There's a way, there's a. There's a connection that God has made in there and they can help. And I got some friends of mine that use their dogs in therapy.
Si Robertson
Well, I look at.
Nan
That dog will come over. Like when a person's like really going through something, that dog will come over and just lay their head down on their. I mean, how does that dog know that. That. That person.
Si Robertson
No, I put this. I always look and say this kind of thing. It's like, mom. Okay. There's nothing like a mom, no matter what you do. Okay. She's godlike in a way. She still loves you and she still puts up with you.
Nan
Unconditional love.
Si Robertson
Unconditional. It don't make any difference.
Jason
I think it's the moral backdrop. It's like the last line of defense.
Si Robertson
Well, no, no, because that's why when Satan attacked the family unit.
Nan
Yeah. Who'd he go for?
Si Robertson
Okay. That's the reason he did it. Yeah. There's a. There's a unspeakable bond that it can't be broken. Okay? And the Almighty knows that. That's why he put it in us like we're made the way we are.
Jason
Oh, I agree. It makes you wonder why he decided to enter. I'm talking about the creator of the universe.
Si Robertson
The.
Jason
To the earth via a mom.
Nan
A mother's womb.
Si Robertson
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Even his. Even his son was born of a woman.
Nan
That's right.
Si Robertson
Okay. And that was a miraculous arrival.
Jason
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Okay. Because there was no sex involved.
Jason
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Okay.
Jason
You sound like your brother Phil now.
Si Robertson
Well. Well, no, no, because, well, Phil, you know, Phil used to ask him, okay, hey, what did you know? Like, he did it with Philip's dad. You know, when Philip couldn't talk to his dad, he needed to talk to him. He would never. Would never listen to him. And he wanted that feeling. He said, well, what do I need to tell him? He said, here's what you do, Mac. You just ask him, hey, what do you want me to say at your funeral? And his dad. Whoa, yo, where that. And after that, he sit down and talk to him about it.
Nan
Yeah, that's a great way. That's a great way to put it. That's a conversation starting over your casket.
Jason
Yeah. What do you want me to say?
Si Robertson
Yeah. When I'm standing over your casket, looking at your body that we're fixed to put in the ground, what do you want me to say about you? You know, and it's a. It's a good way, you know, to break.
Nan
I used to say that in my sermons when I preached at wfr, I would say, look, I'm looking out here over this group of people. You realize I'm going to be the one speaking at your funeral. What am I going to. What am I going to say?
Si Robertson
Well, that's the thing people don't think about, you know, because anytime you see somebody and you've known them for 20 years, say, and then all of a sudden, this worthless, useless human being becomes a superstar of helping everybody he can help. And before, he didn't give a flip about nobody, not even himself. Well, what made that drastic change happen? He had to come up on something that changed him.
Jason
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Because he was useless before.
Jason
I agree.
Si Robertson
You know, and he. If you was honest and asked him, he would tell you, no, I'm a horrible human being. Get away from me.
Jason
That's why I brought up the spirit of God.
Si Robertson
No, no. That's why I'm saying God puts in man. Okay? Because always, sometimes I always get just. It's just amazes me how high we can really fly.
Jason
Oh, I agree.
Si Robertson
And then go the other way. How low we can get to. And how. Sorry we can become. Yeah.
Nan
You just described the study of first, John. And once I just did it. One stage. That's it.
Si Robertson
That's what it is. What. What changes a person, a human being, from being a. Just totally worthless. Yeah. To the person you see and that you admire and strive to become. Like.
Jason
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Because all you ever see this person do is he's serving everything. Everywhere he goes, he's a servant. Yeah. Yeah. And say. That's the thing about Jesus. You would think the king of king and lord of lords would come. Nobody would expect him to be a servant.
Jason
Yeah. But he said it. We actually talked about that on last podcast. He came down, he said, I didn't. For that reason, I didn't come to be served. Yeah. But to serve and give my life as a ransom.
Si Robertson
Well, it's like I always say, the. If you help somebody, you get more out of it than they do. You may not realize it, but really the truth is you do get more out of it if you serve.
Jason
Yeah, well, there's no doubt, because it
Si Robertson
teaches you something nobody else has got because they won't serve.
Jason
Yeah, well, that's what real love is. You know, the. There's different words for love in the Greek language, but that agape, is that unselfish, sacrificial, others first.
Si Robertson
No, no, because like in the military, I always looked at it, you know, and said, okay, we're even studying. Or asked, okay, what is. You know what, just give me a great leader. And then you ask, okay, well, what made him great leader? Well, he was always the last one to stop, is the way I look at it. He was always the last one to lead the job.
Jason
Yeah, well, I guess he was always
Si Robertson
the first one when somebody needed help. He's there. You know, to be a great leader, you've got to be able to. Well, you. You care about people, and you always put their needs above your needs.
Jason
Yeah. That's why. Hey, we're back to Anna. I never finished that story, but she didn't say a whole lot. But she's first one to arrive, last one to leave, did her job. And so what she does to get this king cake is she waits in line. You have to go there at daylight. They only do this about four times a year. I think there's four different holidays that they make king cake. So, like, if you try to.
Nan
And this is the main season is Mardi Gras.
Jason
I don't know about. I mean, I think they're equally like. So they do Easter, Mardi Gras, Christmas. There's another one in there somewhere. And so. And they just make what they make. And you got to be there at daylight, stand in line.
Nan
So she'll make a certain number of cakes and sell them, and then it's over.
Jason
Oh, it's over. Yeah. And then you got other people who are getting in line buying, like, 30 of them and then selling them for twice as much. Oh, it's just infuriating. I mean, she told me that, but, I mean, she's not infuriated by it. She's like, yeah. I mean, like, the person in front of me got 32. Like, what are you going to do with 32 king cakes?
Nan
Yeah, go sell them.
Jason
Well, you're going to go sell them.
Si Robertson
Yeah. You're going to sell people.
Nan
Capitalism.
Jason
Make your own. Go start your own business. So anyway, she. So she'll stand in line and of course, I pay. I pay her for them, but still, I don't ask her to do it.
Nan
She just. She said she does. She said last night, she said, tomorrow's the last day for King Cakes. I'm gonna go get Jason. She asked me what time the podcast started. I just always marvel because I'm just like, that's just the way she is. She's a servant. You know, she takes care of Mom. You know, that's your main job.
Jason
I opened that door and she was standing there with a candy cake. I thought, now we're talking. I'll hook you up later. But on the horse thing, I wanted to read this because I use this in a lot of my speeches, because people are sitting there thinking, boy, I bet this is going to be good. Some guy, Duck Dynasty. I'm being sarcastic, but I'll read this every once in a while because, like you saw, were stereotyped into not being very smart. So I just lay this out there. This is Proverbs 21. And you can share this with Scott, because I really. There's an angle in here. There's no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord. So he's setting himself apart. I mean, just think how much of a blanket statement that is. There's no wisdom, no insight, no plan that concede, succeed against the Lord. Then the next verse, Proverbs 21:31, the horse is made ready for the day of battle, because evidently there's some therapy going on. It's not just about the horse being in the battle. The horse is made Ready for what you're fixing to encounter. But the victory rests with the Lord.
Si Robertson
Well, that's the one about the battle. The battle belongs to the Lord. That's right.
Jason
So there's something.
Si Robertson
You're not going to beat me, okay, because you're not really fighting me.
Jason
Well, exactly.
Si Robertson
You're fighting the one that made me. That's right.
Jason
You keep quoting things in First John that we've been going over.
Nan
So John. I mean, Cy did a little study, he said. And you read First John, right?
Si Robertson
I don't even know how to pronounce the word. But somewhere in the Bible.
Jason
Si. You made a living over not being able to pronounce words.
Si Robertson
No, no, it was Greek. I know that it was Greek from my notes, but the translation is. It's special. God, I can't even think of a word now. Oh, knowledge. Special knowledge.
Jason
Special knowledge.
Si Robertson
Okay? And here's the thing. If you go to Romans 1, it tells you there, okay? First it says, okay, you cannot please God without faith, because you've got to have faith that he does exist and you diligently seek him.
Jason
That's Hebrews 11:1.
Si Robertson
No, but the special knowledge, okay, I look at it and I say, well, now, I've always asked the question, why people beating the doors down to get into Jesus Christ? Well, they don't have the special knowledge is what I've come up with.
Jason
Al, you came up with this? You can't find this?
Nan
I don't. I don't know.
Jason
It's not in your notes. I'm sure you're reading Al's notes.
Si Robertson
Oh, yeah. It was on. It was on the paperwork. On the bottom of the paperwork.
Jason
Well, I didn't read.
Si Robertson
But anyway, you know, now I know why they are not tearing the doors down to get in, okay? Because they don't have the special knowledge. And guess what?
Jason
Yeah, he's holding up the Bible.
Si Robertson
This is a treasure chest. And hey, and guess what? All the special knowledge is right here. Yeah.
Nan
Written by the Holy Spirit.
Si Robertson
Jesus. Jesus left the word, left heaven and become flesh. And he was full of two things, Truth and grace. Okay, everybody knows what truth, but give me the definition of grace.
Nan
Grace is to receive what you don't deserve.
Si Robertson
What you have.
Jason
Exactly what I was going to say.
Si Robertson
Yeah. Okay.
Jason
I think that's.
Si Robertson
So he's comfortable. He's yelling in further in this treasure chest. It tells you if you know the truth, the truth will set you free. You know, and this goes along with everything John is. Is talking about, because John is the book of love.
Jason
I agree with that.
Si Robertson
Okay.
Jason
It's also the book of light and life.
Si Robertson
Well, no, no. And then, you know, that's why when Yah said the fountain of youth, this chest talks about eternity.
Jason
Yeah. Eternal life.
Si Robertson
Well, hey, I think. Let's see. Eternity. There's no beginning and there's no end. Really? Yeah.
Jason
I mean, it's like what you were telling us before we started because someone. Which we kind of buried the lead. So I moved into our neighborhood, and neither one of us knew it until.
Nan
And how long have you been in our neighborhood?
Jason
Nan
A couple of weeks.
Si Robertson
Okay. This is the second time we moved.
Jason
You didn't think I'm gonna let my family know that I'm moving into their neighborhood?
Si Robertson
Well, I just. Babe, I don't have fake stuff like that.
Nan
We've been driving right by your house.
Jason
I did have an eerie feeling like I was being watched.
Si Robertson
We've been in, like, three days over there. We was.
Nan
Okay. Yeah, y' all were live. Y' all were, like, somewhere in downtown.
Si Robertson
Yeah, we was on Hilltop.
Nan
Yeah.
Jason
Well, the reason I. I brought it up is because evidently you had a. A mold specialist.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Jason
Come to your house.
Nan
And I've had one at my house, which is. We found this out.
Jason
Now, we were breaking this down before we started the podcast because Si said, you know, a guy comes in because they smell this odor. Right. Smell odors.
Nan
Said, hey, started with an odor.
Jason
I thought it was the ice valleys, that we just had an ice storm, but Si said, oh, I never even lost electricity.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Nan
He was down south. He didn't have a problem.
Jason
I wasn't even there.
Si Robertson
I was in another house.
Jason
Really?
Si Robertson
And then. Yeah. Because I moved in another house. Well, guess what? The power was out in that house too. So I ended up living with those people.
Jason
Houses all over the place.
Si Robertson
No, no. Yeah.
Nan
I've been a famous man.
Jason
So anyway, I thought. I wasn't sure this mold specialist was selling truth. Cuz s said, you know, he told me that he looked at the mold, and then he looked at you and said, look, I'm pretty sure you only get have two years to live.
Si Robertson
Not if you stayed in this house.
Jason
If you stayed in this house. But I'm like, what kind of guy who comes inspect your house gives you an expiration date?
Si Robertson
He didn't do it today. He just said that sometime later.
Nan
But I'm just saying anybody that looks inside might say, you know, say you got maybe two years.
Jason
That's what I thought. I thought he looked at you.
Si Robertson
He don't know me. Because, hey, my goal Is to hit 100, okay? So I got 20 years.
Nan
I'm gonna celebrate the day you at least hit 80, because when that happens, you will be the longest living Robertson sibling of the seven.
Si Robertson
But my point had made 94.
Nan
Yeah, well, I meant her kids, because dad made it to 79, and that's been the oldest up to now. So you got to top that record. You got to get past it.
Jason
Well, I brought it up because I'm saying that's where you should have launched into your no beginning, no end. I'm in the eternal life. You should have.
Nan
You're just about ready to take off.
Si Robertson
No, no, but, hey, back to the
Jason
special knowledge that you've discovered in the Bible.
Si Robertson
If you don't have it, hey, you don't have nothing.
Nan
But look, Jay's just made the same discovery as you made yesterday. We were recording podcasts that I guess would have been the last podcast we did, because how many times that you may know special knowledge?
Jason
It was two dozen.
Nan
Yeah, two dozen.
Jason
Two dozen. In First John, it said, I'm writing this so that you may know.
Nan
There's your special.
Jason
And then it would fill in the blank. Well, I mean, sigh. It's so many times that it's like the one I know off the top of my head. Look. First John 3, 16. This is how we know what love is. Jesus Christ laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down.
Si Robertson
Yeah. And he did it when we was his enemy.
Nan
That's right. Romans 5. While we were still enemies, Christ laid down his life for us.
Si Robertson
That's the. That's the greatest leader. That it is.
Nan
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Okay. What. What did. What did you just say? He did. Hey, he loved me. Okay. When I was at my worst, I was his worst enemy.
Jason
Yeah. Listen.
Si Robertson
Hey, go over and sit down on that big oak tree I created while I take care of your sin and grapevine. And he did it by no one. Took Jesus's life. No one.
Jason
Oh, he gave it.
Si Robertson
Hey, he literally. He gave it. Yeah.
Jason
John 10.
Si Robertson
It was personal.
Jason
I think I quote that verse.
Si Robertson
He knew your name, for crying out loud.
Jason
Yeah. So look. Hey, First John 14, 4, 13. This is how we know that we live in him and he and us, because he has given us his spirit special. I mean, it's just. It's just filled. It is filled with. This is how we know.
Nan
But I was just thinking about sound when you're describing that. So you. You spent a career in the United States Army, a part of our military. And the thing about The United States military, from the beginning of our country, the idea is, is. Is as we get into skirmishes, whether it's around the world or whatever, by sheer force, I mean, shock and awe, overwhelming force is how you have to. How an enemy will then submit to you for whatever reason, whether it's ideology, problem, whatever. So the idea is by sheer force is how we have to do that in a military situation. That's the difference between an earthly kingdom and the heavenly kingdom. Because the heavenly kingdom, people fully submit themselves. It's not by sheer force. It's simply by submission and sacrifice of God that we then bend our knees. Think about it. It's not force. God doesn't come in and say, you have to follow.
Si Robertson
No, no, because most people get mad, okay? And they. And they blame all the evil stuff that happens. They put that on God's plate right when it's not.
Nan
That's true.
Si Robertson
Back on the special
Jason
knowledge.
Si Robertson
Knowledge, okay? That's like, you know, if you don't know about God, His Son and the Holy Spirit, I say it all the time. If you don't know the Creator, you don't know nothing. You're never gonna amount to nothing, okay? Because all your life is a gift, okay? But going back with the special knowledge, okay, Jesus talks about how you're supposed to be living. Water, springs of it are living in you. And you're supposed to share that with every human being you come in contact to so he can get in on all this blessings. That's why I said, if you don't know Jesus the Creator, you really don't. You don't know nothing. You're never going to be nothing because you don't even know who. How all this got here. Right?
Jason
Yeah, exactly.
Si Robertson
Yeah. And God gave you a brain and he gave you common sense. You should ask yourself, you know, being a human being, you know, where did all this wonderful stuff come from that I have at my disposal?
Jason
Well, I think the problem is those people, they know that if they read this or they pursue this, they're going to have to make some changes. And so you get into that. It's like, I remember I had an argument over First Corinthians 15 about this verse. And I'm going to read it where it says, because the problem was this person's life was not reflecting God, which
Nan
is another theme in First John.
Jason
Well, right.
Nan
Yeah.
Jason
Because it's like, well, if you claim to be in fellowship with the Father and the Son, the Holy Spirit, and it's more than fellowship, we research that Word It's a participation. It's a partnership.
Nan
Divine partnership.
Si Robertson
You not only have got to talk the talk, and you've actually got to live it and walk it.
Jason
Yeah, yeah. So I brought up the point about, you know, the resurrection, because that's kind of where we are in First John 3, when it says, you know, we're children of God and what we will be has not been made known.
Nan
This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are.
Jason
There's this how we know.
Nan
Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God, nor is anyone who does not love his brother.
Si Robertson
Well, thanks. So. Thanks. There's the song. If you don't know love, okay, you know, you don't know God, right? Because God is love.
Nan
He is.
Jason
But the point I was making in verse two of chapter three when it says, now we are children of God and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him.
Si Robertson
That's all I need to know.
Nan
That's the parousia.
Si Robertson
That's all I need to know. If I. I'm like him. Yeah, I'm good to go.
Nan
Indestructible.
Jason
He was eating fish.
Si Robertson
I'm good to go.
Jason
Walking through walls.
Nan
Indestructible life, son. That's what he's.
Jason
Controlled space without any kind of mechanical device.
Nan
Dimensional doors. Walk in without walking through the door.
Jason
Look, he levitated not to travel just because he could. He doesn't.
Si Robertson
That's why he says, okay, we don't know what we're going to be like. But then, here's a little key phrase. But we will be like him. Oh, wait a minute,
Nan
sir. The world's most interesting man is not the man drinking the Dos Equis. It's the man that levitated out of here.
Jason
But here's my point. Look, here's my point. This is talking about the resurrection. This is us being resurrected like Jesus. But look, then he starts talking about everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself. So there's a connection with sin and death. Nobody has a problem with that. It's all through the Bible. It's like, you sin, you die. It starts off right in Genesis 3. But then all of a sudden, we get to Christianity and we try to separate the cross and the resurrection. We're like, well, the cross is all about sins.
Si Robertson
You can't separate it.
Jason
Well, and here's my point, because this person I was talking to, whose life wasn't right was like, well, I realize Jesus died for my sins. And I'm like, well, it's bigger than that.
Nan
What are you.
Jason
And the guy got offended. And so now we're having an argument, which I'm going to tell you, if your life is a mess and you're out doing a lot of vile, sinful things to me, you should be disqualified from then having a theological discussion about the special knowledge. But anyway, that's another point.
Nan
That's a Kellet story. He said they used to sit around the back of the truck drinking, arguing whether you could have an instrument at church or not. It's like, we had no right to have this argument.
Si Robertson
I have these discussions all the time.
Jason
So look, but. But this. And a mentor of mine brought this same point up, which I found hilarious. But always read this in 1 Corinthians 15 because it doesn't seem to go with the narrative that a lot of religious people believe. I'm gonna have to find it. But it says no, here it is. 1 Corinthians 15, 17 says, and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile. And watch this phrase.
Si Robertson
Which is true. Yeah.
Jason
Now he's talking about the resurrection. Everybody knows 1 Corinthians 15 is highlighting the resurrection. And then it says, so if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. What's he bringing up sins for with the resurrection? And so this fellow, he's like, is that what it says? And so look. So here's the next line. You ready for this? Well, Paul got that wrong. And what I should have said, which is what I brought up my mentor about this, is because I heard him say this one time. He said, paul is never wrong. He's never wrong because he's inspired.
Nan
That's right. The Holy Spirit said it.
Jason
Yeah, the Holy Spirit. But my whole point for bringing this up is sometimes when your life is not reflecting what you know to be right, you will actually look at this knowledge and just say, no, not right. Not right.
Si Robertson
That's the point I'm trying to make with this special
Nan
knowledge.
Si Robertson
Knowledge.
Jason
Si. You brought this up and you can't remember.
Si Robertson
Well, no, no, but I'm just saying because, hey, if you don't have the special knowledge.
Jason
Yeah.
Si Robertson
You're lost.
Jason
Yeah.
Si Robertson
And now I understand it when I preach to somebody and it goes in this ear and it calls out the other one, and he didn't get the substance of what was said.
Nan
Yeah, because you made a really strong point earlier. I want to reference back to that you mentioned common sense. And you could equate common sense to me with conscience, which everybody has one. You can sear it, you can cover over it, you can ignore it. You can.
Si Robertson
You're doing something and you, you, it hits you and you know, you know, you know it's wrong.
Nan
And that's why, that's why people have an understanding. They know about sin and death even in their own life. You do the wrong thing consistently, you're going to pay the consequence. And it could be eating too much. That's a. It could be drinking too much, it could be whatever.
Si Robertson
That's where people have a problem. Problem. Okay. There's so many sins, okay. That people don't even, don't, don't even know one is, hey, what you say can be sin.
Nan
Oh, exactly. And be as destructive as anything else you could do to somebody. So you know that there are consequences that happen. So the question is, what are you going to do with that? Because even if you don't even know anything about God, you're not sure about it. You don't trust you don't. You know, I don't know about all that God stuff, but what about. Why is that inside of you saying, this doesn't feel right?
Si Robertson
You know it's wrong.
Nan
You know it's wrong.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Nan
You know, and that's why when he said that about that when you do what is right, and that really becomes the whole thing is, am I doing the right thing or am I not?
Si Robertson
And something inside of you, it has virtues that says that, that people do things. They don't have the Bible, but yet they do things that are right.
Nan
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Well, why they do it? Hey. Cause God put it in you.
Nan
That's right. Remember dad used to. Remember dad used to say, said, you know, people didn't even know about the Bible. Somewhere, somewhere, some small place and somewhere around the world, why did they sneak in at night to steal? Why were they, why were they so stealthy about stealing or about this? Or why did they not want somebody to know they're visiting somebody else's hut? And the thing is, because there's right and there's wrong. And God put in us because we're made in his image this moral compass to make the right decision or the wrong decision. And if the right one is to choose him or not to choose him.
Si Robertson
I mean, I go back to this, what I said about Jesus. He came to earth full of two
Jason
things, grace and truth.
Si Robertson
Truth and grace.
Jason
And hey, that's John 1, like 16 or 17.
Si Robertson
Hey. And guess what? We need both of them.
Nan
Yep.
Jason
Oh, it's.
Nan
That's great. You got to have them both.
Jason
It's vital. So let me define this special knowledge for you, because I've just been reading while you were talking. So in First John 2, he says, in verse 3, we know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. The man who says, I know him, but doesn't do what he says is a liar and the truth is not in him. Hold on. So that's knowing him. He's like. Because people say, well, I know him well. Then 1 John 3, which we just read, but verse 6 says, no one who lives in him keeps on the practice of sinning. No one who continues to practice sin has either seen him or known him. So then when he gets to chapter five, last verse before the keep yourself from idols, we know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding. There's your special. Because why. But what is it so that we may know him? The special knowledge is that you know a person. Because once you get to know God, you realize that he knows you well.
Si Robertson
Because Jesus even said, well, those that had come to him and said, lord, we done this and done this. And he said, I never knew you.
Jason
Yeah. Well, thank you.
Si Robertson
My second Thessalonians say, you know him.
Jason
Yeah.
Si Robertson
No, no, it goes deeper and further than that.
Jason
Exactly.
Si Robertson
You've got to have a relationship with him, and that relationship is this. What is his commands to you? What are you supposed to be doing? Are you doing what Jesus told you to do?
Jason
Well, just think about the most scary passage in the New Testament. I would argue Maybe besides Matthew 23, when Jesus lit up the Pharisees. But when 2 Thessalonians 1, he says, this will happen when the Lord God is revealed from heaven in blazing fire. He will punish those who do not know God.
Si Robertson
Well, no, no, because that's why I got on a kick about. Okay, do you know the man?
Jason
Yeah. Well, that's a good kick to be on, because first John's.
Si Robertson
Well, no, no, because, see, I. You know, people talk about it and I say, well, wait a minute, hold it. If Jesus referred to himself like over a hundred times as the Son of man. Yeah. He must have did it for a very important reason.
Jason
I think so.
Si Robertson
You know, because most people, I get mad when they tell me, they said, well, if he was the Son of God, he didn't feel any of that. That all the stuff they'd done to him.
Jason
Yeah.
Si Robertson
I said, dude, you missed the whole point. Of what was said.
Jason
Yeah, yeah, I agree.
Nan
He became a man.
Si Robertson
Son of God. Yeah, but he was a human being, just like me. With one big difference. He was sinless.
Nan
That's right.
Jason
Look, the next words, perfect and hey.
Si Robertson
And this perfect man could raise dead people. Yeah. That's why I. All I had to read was when you said, oh, we don't know what we're going to be like, but we do know this. We will be just like him.
Jason
Exactly.
Nan
Resurrected.
Jason
Next time you get in this argument. I'm all in love. The next time you get in this argument, you go to the first sermon preached after Jesus was raised by Peter. Peter. And he said, men of Israel, listen to this. Jesus of Nazareth was a man, a credit. Oh, but.
Si Robertson
But watch.
Jason
Accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. You know, he got the Holy Spirit and he started doing all this stuff now. But listen, the next verse, this man.
Si Robertson
Ooh, yeah. Well, son of man.
Jason
Yeah. This man was handed over to you by God's set purpose and foreknowledge, and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. But God raised him from the dead.
Nan
What about that, son?
Jason
He called him a man twice.
Si Robertson
You can stop right there. And again, I raised my hand. I'm all in. You can call me a Jesus freak. I am. And I asked you, hey, here's one of the prayers I say daily. Lord, when it comes to it, if somebody puts a.357 Magnum to my head and says, hey, you got two choices. You gonna say that Jesus was not who he was, or I'm gonna blow your head off. I said pull the trigger six times, baby. Cause, hey, I know the man that can raise me right back.
Jason
You know the funny part of that story is the reason he Sundays pull it six times because he's got such a hard head.
Nan
But it takes six to penetrate.
Si Robertson
It takes six to go through.
Nan
We always have fun with you on Unashamed Pilot. So what do we got? What's the new name for when cycles on? Or we call it the.
Jason
The insanity. No, hey, insane. Insane. But that's it.
Si Robertson
I'm insane about Jesus. And hey, here's the deal. And I am not ashamed insane.
Nan
But Hayden, here's the deal.
Si Robertson
Because one of these days, I'm gonna be just like him. Just a little bitty potty here. It's gonna go on the ground. It's gonna rot and disappear. But hey, when the time comes, the Lord's gonna put it all back together, and then me and him are heading out of here.
Nan
I thought you fixed to go bam.
Si Robertson
And it's gonna like, whoa.
Nan
We're gone insane. Out of shame. All right.
Jason
We're out of time.
Nan
We're out of time. We'll see.
Si Robertson
We're out of time. I can't believe it. Here's what you get out of this podcast today, okay? Special knowledge.
Jason
It's who you know? It's who you?
Si Robertson
We're still looking for what you know? It's who you know? Do you know? I got one question to ask you? Do you know the man? His name is Jesus? He come from Nazareth? He was a Jew? He was a carpenter's son? But he was also the son of the Almighty? And everything God the Father's got, he inherits it. And guess what? I'm getting my share of it. Baby,
Jason
you want some king cake?
Si Robertson
You want some king cake now?
Jason
What about that, baby?
Si Robertson
That's right.
Nan

Featured Hosts: Si Robertson, Nan, Jason
This episode brings together the beloved Robertson crew, with Uncle Si as the centerpiece of high spirits and faith-fueled storytelling. The discussion meanders with classic Robertson humor and warmth, from Mardi Gras king cakes, military stories, horse therapy, and family roasts to deep dives into spiritual truths—especially the nature of "special knowledge," service, grace, and the assurance of eternal life in Jesus. Uncle Si, ever the character, humorously fends off predictions about his lifespan and reinforces his conviction that, in Christ, there’s no end to life.
The tone is quintessentially Robertson: warm, unfiltered, deeply faithful, and often downright hilarious. Si’s earnest and sometimes rambling storytelling is punctuated by Nan and Jason’s quick-witted interjections and sincere faith. The hosts move deftly from laughter to poignant reminders of grace, hope, and God’s promises.
Ending Challenge (Si, [51:26]):
“Do you know the man? His name is Jesus… because if you don’t know him, you got nothing. I got one question: Do you know the man?”
