Battle of the Bulge all the way through the end of the war.

The 4th ID fight through the Siegfried Line. Here, they experience new battle conditions, but nothing could prepare them for their next grueling campaign: The Hurtgen Forest.

Continuing on through France, the 4th ID advance slows due to the heavily defended hedgerows. The chaos of war becomes more and more apparent as the 4th ID help liberate Paris after 4 long years of occupation. With the drums of war beating in Europe again, the 4th ID needed to be reformed and re-trained as a major build-up of US military forces. Training and reorganizing took place from 1940 up until their first deployment in WWII: D-Day.
