Pastor Paul (39:49)
Just two months ago, this guy comes up to, to me and he says, I saw you in the bar. I said, what? He said, I saw you in the bar at midnight. I said, what are you talking about? I don't go to the bar. He said, no, I saw you there, brother. I said, it wasn't me. Someone looks like me, it wasn't me. He said, no. He said, I was in the bar. He said, I was getting hammered and there you were. I said, no, no, that wasn't me. He said, brother, it was you. I said, stop, that wasn't me. He said, you came on the TV screen in that bar. And the bartender turned the volume up so all of us drunk guys at the bar and girls. He said, I was with a girl. He said, I was trying to, you know. He said, I was sitting at the bar with this girl. He said, brother, when you started preaching, she turned it up. The bartender, she turned you up on that tv. He said, I gave my heart to Jesus at the bar because you were. Come on. I found Jesus in prison. I found Jesus at the bar. Wherever you find Jesus, just as long as you find that's where we need to be. You know, we started going on at midnight on TV. We started looking for opportunities just to buy 30 minute slots on ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, whatever channel we could, you know, one day I think we'll be on mtv, bet, all the channels, whatever the T's are, we're gonna get on there. Tnt. But we wanted to get on at midnight because I started thinking, how many people at midnight are, are walking through loneliness, despair, Fighting addictions, fighting insomnia, fighting feelings of sadness, walking through divorce, pain, walking through all kinds of just heartache, heartbreak. And that they could find Jesus at midnight. And so they've been showing us on in bars. They've been showing victory in hospital rooms, ER rooms. People said, I got saved sitting in the St. Francis ER. They had you on at midnight. They didn't mean to have you on. They had Jimmy Kimmel on. And then you came on, let's go. And then victory starts. And they said, I was walking through so much fear in that ER room over what was going on in my family and one of my relatives that was there. And they said, I felt such a peace because victory was on at midnight. Y', all, there's so many avenues of your impact, whether it's the Dream center or TV or missions or missionaries or whether it is online. The reach is so strong. But everything we do is a seed in Scripture. There was a woman who brought her alabaster jar of perfume. It was. It was all she had. It was very expensive. It was costly. David said in the Bible, I will not give an offering that doesn't cost me something. Somebody tried to make David, like, make it easy for David. They're like, hey, we got something you can give. It's gonna be fine. You don't have to do anything. David said, I refuse to do what's easy and comfortable or let someone else pay for my offer. And he said, I'm gonna give something that cost me something. I'm gonna sacrifice. David sacrificed for his son and for the next generation. He said, I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of the Lord than dwell in the tents of the wicked. David was a man of many mistakes, but he was a man after God's own heart. The woman brought the alabaster jar. People knew who she was. She wasn't a woman that had a perfect past or a perfect track record. Here's the good news. Jesus, he loves all of us. And he can redeem any of us. And none of us are too far gone or too messed up or too broken or too dis. Dysfunctional for him to do something powerful in our lives. And listen, today is an opportunity for us to come and be a part of what he's doing. And Jesus talked about this woman's offering. It's not just a perfume bottle. It's a seed. When I look at scripture, it wasn't just a lunchbox that the boy gave to feed the thousands. It was a seed. It wasn't just the widow's might. It was a seed. It's not just a meal. It's a seed. It's not just a backpack. It's a seed. It's not just a playground. It's a seed. It's not just a turkey at Thanksgiving. It's a seed. It's not just a Bible we give in the prisons. It's a seed. It's not just a toy we give at Christmas. It's a seed. It's not just a coat we give in the winter. It's a seed. It's not just a tithe you give in church. It's a seed. It's not just an offering. It's a seed. It's not just a Christmas production next week. It's a seed. It's not just an alabaster jar of perfume. It's a seed. It was. It wasn't just a death on a cross. It was a seed. It wasn't just an outpouring in an upper room on Pentecost. It was a seed. It's a seed. And there's power in the seed. Jesus said, unless the seed goes into the ground, there is no harvest. There is no harvest without a seed. I think about the story of the boy that gave his five loaves and two fish. I want to just end today on John, chapter six, it says Jesus crossed over to the Sea of Galilee and a great crowd of people followed him because they saw the miracles he performed. They saw him healing the sick. They saw him intervening in people's stories. Today, I believe Jesus wants to intervene in your story, in your life. And at every row, behind every seat, there's offering envelopes. I'm gonna ask you to take one. Whether you plan to give or not. It's fine. You don't have to give today, but I want you to take one because I want you to write something in it. There's lines up here on this envelope, and it says prayer request and praise reports. I want you to write down something you're praying for, something you need in your life. There's pins behind the chairs. But even if you plan to give digitally or give on text or give online, I want you to take this envelope and I want you to write down, what are you praying for? What are you believing for? Maybe you're in the room today and you say, man, I'm just praying for healing in my marriage. I'm just praying that, like, there will be healing in my family. I'm praying for reconciliation with my daughter. I'm praying for healing with my son. Maybe you're praying right now for your dad to be healed of cancer. He can do it. He can do it. Maybe you're praying for your business to turn around. Maybe you're praying for a car. You're here today and you go, man, I walk everywhere, bro. I get rides everywhere. I don't have my own car. If I had my own car, I would be a bigger blessing. Would be a bigger blessing. I could give people rides to church. God told Abraham, count the stars. Count the stars, Abraham. In other words, dream big. Because oftentimes we're dreaming what we can accomplish in our own strength, what we can do in our own bank account. God was telling Abraham, you're asking for one kid. I want you to believe for nations. I want you to believe for greater Abraham. And God told Abraham, I will be the blesser in your life, and I will bless you to be a blessing to all nations of the earth. I will be your provider. Eventually, God fulfilled that promise for Abraham. But today I want you to write down, what are those dreams? What are those prayers? What are those needs? These people came to Jesus and they all had a need.
