David Dobrik
What? It's gonna happen. What's up, guys? Welcome back to Views. Today is very special day. We have somebody here that we've never had before. Her name is. Full name Isabella Lopez. You may know her as Bella from the gym.
Jason
Buzz.
David Dobrik
Been working with us for. Oh, first off, she's here because some really big shit went down. We're going to talk about that in like 10 minutes.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Oh, my God, bro, our friend.
David Dobrik
Wait, wait, wait.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
He won the lottery?
Jason
No, bro, just the five out of the six numbers.
Jay
I heard about this guy.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
He.
David Dobrik
Wait, what?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
1. 1.1 million.
David Dobrik
Bella's friend just hit five out of the six Powerball numbers, winning him $1.1 million. Guys, I'm looking at the ticket here. Oh, my God.
Jay
Did he have the Powerball?
David Dobrik
So two drawings ago, he hit the numbers 3, 18, 22, 27, 33. I'm going to puke.
Jay
What?
David Dobrik
I'm going to puke. The powerball number was 17. Yeah, his number came out to be 16.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
No way. Shut up.
David Dobrik
He was one. He was one digit change from $1.1 billion. Oh, my God.
Jason
Wow.
Jay
Oh, my God.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
That's.
Jay
I would take a leave of absence from work if that happened to me.
David Dobrik
Do you know what that difference. I'm sorry. I know a million dollars is a lot. We're talking the difference between 10 years of your life from 10 generations of your family.
Jay
Yeah.
David Dobrik
Forever changed. You will never, ever. Like, it is a complete. It's a huge difference. I'm sorry.
Jason
I know.
David Dobrik
I get it.
Natalie
No, it is.
David Dobrik
I get it. It's a big difference. Every. Your bloodline, forever, if invested properly, will be good. Undisputed. He was one digit away. Poor guy.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I mean, I wonder if I Should call him and just, like, tell him he doesn't have to disclose his identity.
David Dobrik
Do you know him that well?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah, I know him from high school.
David Dobrik
Calm, calm, calm.
Jay
I just want to see he's crying when you call him.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Okay.
David Dobrik
We have to be positive with him, right?
Jay
Yeah.
David Dobrik
I'm so sorry, dude.
Jason
Hello.
David Dobrik
Hi, dude. This is David. I'm with Bell and our friend Jason and Natalie.
Jason
Hey, nice to meet you guys. How we doing?
David Dobrik
How are you? You sound like you have a pep in your step. I've never met you, but you sound excited. This is crazy. We were recording the pod, and then Bell got a text that you won. You won the Powerball. This is what's going on. How did this happen? Please explain this. I've never been in the vicinity of anybody that's done that.
Jason
So I didn't win the six out of six. I went five for six.
David Dobrik
I know. And I. And I just saw the numbers you were. Yeah. Were one away from.
Jason
Yeah. So the. The Powerball number was 17, and then I had 16.
David Dobrik
Wow. Wow. Yeah.
Jason
One number away from 1.1 billion. I. I was just on the phone with my roommate from college. I said, it's the, like, greatest win and loss ever, maybe.
David Dobrik
Yeah. I mean, I.
Jason
A great win, but, like, 1 million compared to a billion, it's big difference, right?
David Dobrik
Yeah, that's what. That's what. That's where my mind went immediately. I didn't want to, like, talk to you about that because you should be stoked that you won a million dollars. What? I don't know. Tell me the process of when you, like, found it, like, when you were looking at the numbers.
Jason
So I bought it on Thursday before one of my men's league basketball games, and I just did it. It was probably, like, my fifth, sixth time ever buying one.
Jay
Wow.
Jason
Wow. And I was just like, you know, I'll put 20 bucks on it. I got, like, 10 lines, and I bought a Gatorade, played my game, and then, like, went the whole week, went out Saturday night, kind of got drunk, got back late Sunday, and then, like, ordered a pizza, just chilling there. And I'm like. I remember us talking about it in the morning. And, like, I, like, looked at it, was just sitting on my apartment counter for, like, three days.
Jay
Wow.
Jason
And, like, I looked down and, like, I saw the number three on the third line. I was like, oh, damn. That was one of the numbers. Like, let me. Let me just pull up the app and scan it real quick, like, as I'm grabbing a piece of pizza. And then like, the number popped up, and I read it as a billion first because I saw one comma, and then, like, three numbers, comma, three numbers. And then I saw, like. I thought it was another comma, but it was a period. So I, like, threw my phone on the counter, and I was like, what the.
David Dobrik
Oh.
Jason
And, like, I just, like, started, like. I was like, no. What did I just read? Like, like, did that say what I think it just said? And I kind of, like, crept back over to my phone, and I was like, oh. And then I was like, wait, hold on. That says a million.
Jay
Like, oh.
Jason
I just started running around my house. I was like, oh. Oh. Like, took my shirt off.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I was like.
David Dobrik
Wow. Who's the. Who was the first person you called? Did you call a bunch of people or did you call nobody? What did you do?
Jason
So Bella will know. These two people, my friend Carson and Jordan, they were coming over because we had to do our fantasy draft. So I had two fantasy drafts in, like, 15 minutes after I. So I'm, like, freaking out before I'm drafting my team. And, like, they walk in the door, and I just had it sitting there. I'm like, you guys got to go look at that. And, like, they both just, like, looked at the phone and, like, looked at the ticket, and they're like, oh, shit. Like, no way. Like. And we just all started jumping up and down and stuff.
David Dobrik
What are you going to spend the money on?
Jason
I have no idea yet. I think I'm going to. I've been trying to. Me and my dad have talked a little bit about things to do. I gotta get a new car soon. So it was kind of perfect timing.
David Dobrik
Wow.
Jason
I think a car is probably in the future.
David Dobrik
And then were your parents stoked? Was your dad like, oh, yeah, my.
Jason
Dad'S been playing lottery for 40, 50 years, probably every week.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Oh, my God.
Jason
He was like, I've always dreamed of this day.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Like, oh, my God.
Jason
Sacramento to turn it in together.
David Dobrik
Wow. What did it. So when you scanned it on your app, I've always wondered this, like, what is it? Just as a basic. Does do this confetti pop up on your phone? Does it just say, congratulations?
Jason
I have a screenshot of it. I'll text it to her number right now. Like, it's kind of basic. I'm not gonna lie.
David Dobrik
Wow. But that's, like, you would think there would be some.
Jason
Some confetti or something.
David Dobrik
Yeah. Like a FaceTime from, like, the president. Damn. That's fucking crazy.
Jay
Wow.
Jason
Holy crazy feeling right away.
David Dobrik
Oh, my God. Says you're a winner. You have won $1.165 million. Please sign your ticket and file a claim form. My. My big question is, how do you balance the excitement and the one number away? What's. Like, where is. I've always. I've always argued this a win, to win 1 million.
Jason
That's a win, man. Like, I'm very grateful for that. Like, okay, yeah, like, I'll take the.
Jay
Win any day, but, like, hurt a little bit.
Jason
Like, damn. Like, one number. Like, nobody else had to be close, like, to, like, that. No, I think I was the closest person.
David Dobrik
Yeah. There was, what, three other winners?
Jason
Yeah, I was like, no way. They had, like, 18.
David Dobrik
No way. I. Yeah, I. I think this is the closest that. I mean, the closest you can get to. To the grand prize that, like, they.
Jason
Didn'T win again today or yesterday. Like, I'm like, dude, like, I was that close. Like, and it's still going.
David Dobrik
And you didn't just win any lottery. You won a billion dollar. Like, you're one number away from a billion dollar lottery. Like, you're in the big one.
Jason
That's, like, one of the biggest ones.
David Dobrik
Yeah, I think it's in, like, the top three or four. It's huge.
Jason
Yeah.
Jay
Will you play again?
David Dobrik
Yeah. Are you going to play again?
Jason
Oh, I think I'm about to go stop at the gas station right now.
Jay
He's hooked.
Jason
Like, why not, dude?
David Dobrik
Jay, is there a band you're looking to see, like, perform live or. No?
Jay
Oh, yes. I want to go see the Fray.
David Dobrik
Oh, what?
Natalie
I want to see the Jonas Brothers. Have you seen that? It looks so fun.
David Dobrik
Can I help you get tickets?
Natalie
Of course.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah.
David Dobrik
Yeah. Well, SeatGeek is the number one place for any kind of tickets, really. With over 28 million downloads, SeatGeek is the number 1 rated ticketing app. There are more than 70,000 events listed on SeatGeek, including concerts, sports, festivals, and more guys. So, like, if there's any event that's ever ticketed and you want a good price on tickets, you go to SeatGeek, use our code, and it's. It's as easy as that. I don't know why we talk about this.
Jay
It's the best I. Everyone shows. I've seen Dave.
David Dobrik
How many? Hundreds, and probably for damn near free.
Jay
Miles Davis. I've seen Herbie Hancock. I didn't see Miles Davis. He's dead.
David Dobrik
You saw Miles Davis.
Jay
I saw Chappelle. I've seen Tyler, the creator.
David Dobrik
Well, before the summer ends, get out of the house. Do something. Fun. And use our code views 10 for 10% off your next set of tickets at sea Geek. That's 10% off tickets with promo code views10. SeatGeek code views 10 for 10% off tickets on SeatGeek. Okay, so that was a wild start to the pod. I was not expecting a Powerball winner to call in. That's sick. That wasn't even the story that I wanted Bella to share on it. It's. It's still. The crazy story is still up for grabs. All right, Bella, start here. When. When did you get hired here?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I got hired at sila in May 2022.
David Dobrik
So May 2022. And then, like. And then, like, I. I slowly. As time went on, I figured out, like, you watched a lot of the videos.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah, I would show up with, like, different merch on.
David Dobrik
Yeah.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Like, where'd you get that? I. I don't know. Had it.
David Dobrik
Yeah. When she got, like, more and more comfortable, she started bringing, like, newer pieces of merch, and it got, like, really niche. We thought, like, shit, that was like, maybe David pieces in the drop.
Jay
David and Brooklyn Beckham drop.
David Dobrik
Yeah.
Jay
Really?
David Dobrik
It was like. It was like Natalie's pasta collection.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
That's not true.
David Dobrik
No, no, no.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Drake and Josh 1.
David Dobrik
Drake and Josh collab. David's vlog merch or whatever it was.
Natalie
I thought that you. I thought you were just, like. For a long time, I thought you were just, like, pulling from the merch closet upstairs.
David Dobrik
I thought that's what I thought until. Until, like, the Drake and Josh merch showed up.
Natalie
Well, that's what people do. People come over and they need an extra hoodie and they, like, go grab one of the old, like, clickbait hoodies or whatever. So I thought you were.
Jay
It's your personal collection.
Natalie
Yeah, I found out it's your personal collection.
Jay
How many pieces of merch do you think you have?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Had.
Jay
Had. Oh, you got rid of. After what went down, you got rid of them?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
No, I had. I had. Let's see. I had the Drake and Josh one. I had. I had.
David Dobrik
You just had this, like, six months ago. You just got rid of them.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
No, I still have that one. I'll never get rid of that one.
David Dobrik
Okay, so Bella was, like, low key, hiding that she was a super fan while working here.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
That's so, like, funny.
Jay
I think. I think that's great when someone shows up and they're a fan. I'm like, oh, great.
David Dobrik
No, I think that's sick.
Jay
I know most people are like that. That's not okay. But no, I think it's great. And though it turned out to be amazing.
David Dobrik
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Did you. Okay, so you watched the videos before working here?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yes.
David Dobrik
How did you hear about the job? You just followed Ilya or somebody?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Actually, Jack's the one who saw everything about Zela first because he's very into working out. So he saw that it was, like, a new protein coming out, and he was like, oh, my God, we have to try this. And then we found out it was linked to, like, you guys, and I was like, what the fuck? So.
David Dobrik
So then, like, like, your world's combining protein. And then we went, trash merch.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
So we waited for the drop, we ordered the protein, and then. And I was applying for jobs. I was like, my last interview at Live Nation, they denied me, like, just going to every interview, and it was like, the final final, and I just wasn't getting the job. So I was, like, very down. And I was like, fuck it, fine. I'll just apply for this job. Because I was looking to work in social media, so I did. He emailed me back, like, right away. I had an interview, and then he hired me. And I haven't even met him yet. I was like, okay. And that's the one. The company was, like, maybe a month old.
Jay
So did you have a FaceTime with Ilya?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I had an interview with Ilya. It was so scary because he was very, like, stone. You know when he gets, like, super serious, he means business.
Jay
Yeah, business mode.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
And I was, like, trying to joke with him in the interview, and he was like, so where do you live? And it's just like.
David Dobrik
I was like, uh, you knew Ilya as. You knew Ilya from the videos?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
That's it.
Jay
The guy who was handcuffed to Dima?
David Dobrik
Yeah, the guy who's throwing up in toilets.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
So I thought he was, like, gonna be funny and lighthearted in the interview, and I was just, like, not prepared. But I knew, like, something was telling me, like, oh, I think. I think I got that job.
Jay
I don't know why.
David Dobrik
Okay, that's really funny. Yeah. Elio was telling me the other day, he was like, when. When he used to work at the plumbing. He used to work for his dad's plumbing company that took over. And. And he was just praying to God that, like, no one would ever see his videos or see my videos because he's just getting hammered in them. And it's like. And he really does take his business seriously, and he, like, doesn't want anything to affect it. And then. And then one day, like, his. Literally, his biggest client, like, found a vlog where we're in Chicago and he's, like, completely hammered and, like, oh, throwing up on the side of the street and sent it to. And he goes, is this you? And then it just became an ongoing joke with. With Ilya and his biggest client. Every time a new vlog would come out where Elias getting hammered, he would send it to him.
Jay
It could go one or two ways. It could go like, I don't want to work with you, or it could go like, damn, I love this guy.
David Dobrik
Yeah. Yeah, but that's usually how business is, is it not?
Jay
Yeah, yeah.
David Dobrik
Like, everybody that we've ever met and is like. Like, I don't want to throw everybody that we've ever met under the bus. But they're all Cocas. No, but, like, really, like, they are, like, the craziest party. Like, every. Everybody has a side to them. Every human being has a side to them that's, like. A human being.
Natalie
Yeah. I think there's, like, a point where, like, everybody. Everybody parties. Everyone lets loose. Everyone does whatever. I think Ilya. I think it worked for Ilya just because he was the head and owner of the company. Like, if he was just, like, a random plumber, they'd be like, okay, you kind of got to get out of here. This is, like, a little bit too much.
David Dobrik
So that to that point that, like, everybody has decided that we work with. We have somebody that works with us here. Her name's Brooke, and she, you know.
Natalie
She does, like, all the business, like, administrative stuff.
David Dobrik
Yeah, all, like, the really. The boring stuff on the computer. The stuff that, like, I'm terrified of, like, just, like, you know, helping Natalie, whatever brand deals, and she keeps herself, like, on the computer. But, like, when we'll have, like, our parties, like, for some reason, Zane, like.
Natalie
Always, like, yeah, Zayn did, like, that was how I got, like, integrated into the friend group was just. Zayn one night decided that he was gonna hang out with me and make it his mission to, like, just take.
David Dobrik
Shotsay does that, like, at, like, he.
Natalie
Loves to, like, alleviate, like, the awkward.
Jay
I've seen him do that, and I.
David Dobrik
Think he'll, like, find the person that, like, he knows that's been, like, hanging around the house, but maybe they haven't been, like, broken into, like, having. Having, like, the amazing time. And it was Brooke, like, this last party, and it's actually been, like, two parties. And then, like, Zane will just go shot for shot with Brooke.
Natalie
Oh, my God. And then, like, never seen Brooke drunk before.
David Dobrik
I've never seen it in my life.
Jay
Really?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Ever. Oh. I mean, your employers.
Natalie
So, yeah, she's always on her best.
David Dobrik
Well, it was just really funny because, like, I came upstairs. There's, like, a bar upstairs, like, like, on my balcony. And Brooke's like. Brook's like. Which is like. If you know Brooke, she's, like, so quiet.
Jay
Yes.
David Dobrik
She's like, dave, just take a shot.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Oh, my God.
David Dobrik
And I'm like. I literally. I, like, like, like a cartoon. I had to, like, squeegee my eyes because I was like. I was like, wait, is this really what's happening? I was like. I was like, oh, I can't right now. And then, like, I'm not kidding you. Like, like, at least two more times, she goes, come on.
Jason
Come on, Dave.
David Dobrik
I mean, speaking of drinking. Bella.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Oh, God, I'm sober.
David Dobrik
How are you sober now?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah. Zero days starting today.
Jay
Bella's six hours.
David Dobrik
Bella's the craziest. Bella gets drunk like no other.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Oh, my God.
Jay
You do?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Is that true? No, please, please.
Jay
Always, like, oh, that's so funny.
David Dobrik
And I know Bella's hammered because It'll be, like, 3am I'll be asleep.
Jay
Yeah.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
And.
David Dobrik
And I'll hear. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. She'll be here on the couch. Usually on her own. Yeah. And I'll just hear Endgame or, like, any Avengers movie just blasting. That's what she does at, like, at.
Natalie
Like, she gets hammered and then watches the movie.
David Dobrik
She gets hammered and she puts on.
Natalie
Endgame and then cries.
David Dobrik
Falls asleep. Yeah. But, like, you hear, like. You hear the house shaking because it's so loud. It's like. It's like your drunk dad coming home. Oh, Bella's here.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Oh, my God. Okay. This doesn't happen that often.
David Dobrik
It's happened four times.
Jay
Okay, three.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Three or four.
David Dobrik
Which is crazy.
Jay
Which is crazy, because it's doesn't happen that much. Not that we make movie five or six times.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
That's not a lot, but.
David Dobrik
No, it's okay.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I'm also, like, not. I'm also, like, not leaving, like, my house and, like, just getting drunk and coming to Davis and watching Endgame we're.
Natalie
All doing together, you know?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah. Yeah.
David Dobrik
No, there's actually been moments where you're, like, completely on your own drunk.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
What?
David Dobrik
Yeah. Bella, be honest with you. Are they not. Are they. Oh, yeah. You probably don't remember, but There are definitely moments where Bella is just drunk, and then she'll be like, I'm swinging by the house. And then she'll bring her drunk storm, and she'll be like, we gotta put on Endgame.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I just take over. I'm also, like, this fitness health person.
David Dobrik
Yeah, no, you balance it really well.
Natalie
Yeah, that's the best. Yeah.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah.
David Dobrik
Back to. That was really interesting. Bella, you were saying, like, Ilia was scary. What was the vibe with everybody else.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
When I first got flown down to meet, like, Sean, who's part of Zela.
Jay
Flown down. Oh, Southwest.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
You know Alex. Alex put me on that.
Jay
Did you know about that? One day, I mean, first class, it was a private jet. They went, picked up Bella. The Zilajet flown down.
Natalie
Makes sense.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
No, it doesn't.
Jay
Wait, really flown down to be hired as a social media manager?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Are you kidding? That's insane.
David Dobrik
But how else would you get here?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
That's such an Iliad. You.
Jay
You'd cart your ass down. How did Ferris get here? Ferris was in Arizona. He carted his ass up here.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Ferris was in India. He drove.
David Dobrik
Ferris was in India. But. Okay, I guess you're right.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
But when I first met Alex, I. I hugged him, and he said it was so weird that I did that. He was like, that was so weird. Like, he told me months later, like. Because I was like, hi. Like, I just. I'm not like, this.
David Dobrik
Like, he didn't shake his hand.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Because, like, that was my first job. I was also a student, and I'm just, like, so giddy.
Jay
Yeah.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I was like, hi. He's like a hugger. He told me after. He's like, that was so weird that you knocked me.
David Dobrik
Oh, I guess. I guess in, like, a regular, like.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah.
Natalie
I hug everybody at our meetings.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
First time, they're probably, like, Natalie's weird.
Jay
First time, though, Matt. First time, you need them.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
A hug.
Natalie
Okay. When we start the meeting, it's a handshake, and then we leave the meeting, and it's like a hug.
David Dobrik
Oh.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Usually.
Jay
Oh, that's pretty good. That is perfect. That's actually perfect.
David Dobrik
Yeah. Yeah, I guess that makes sense. Psychological.
Jay
What do you do, Dan?
David Dobrik
I mean, like, I've always, like, wished I was a woman so I could, like, strictly go.
Jay
Finally, I have the title.
David Dobrik
Okay.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I have the podcast now.
David Dobrik
Here it comes. This is where I completely pivot. It has nothing to do with meetings.
Jay
We never get to Bella's.
David Dobrik
Except for a long time. No. Like, I've always. Because I feel like women get away with, like, hugs more often and My hands are so sweaty that, like, for a while, the handshake, like, made me not want to do any meetings.
Jay
Yes.
David Dobrik
But, like, women always hug. So, like, I. I dabbled in, like, saying, I'm a hugger.
Jay
Yeah. Yeah.
David Dobrik
But it just comes off weird.
Jay
Well, a hug is better. Then they don't feel your hands, right.
David Dobrik
Yeah, that's exactly right.
Jay
The sweat is on their shirt, and they.
David Dobrik
Yeah, or I'll, like, fist pound what's on their shirt. Yeah. Or. I used to do this pro move, like, when we had meetings at the house. I'd, like, eat something right before, and I'd be like, oh, my God, cream cheese all over my hand.
Natalie
It's not a promo.
David Dobrik
I'd be like, here's my elbow.
Jay
I just got into a chili dog. You do not want to shake my hand right now.
David Dobrik
No, literally. And then I'd have to, like, go right before the meeting would end. I've done this five times. I've done a handful of times. And this is real. And, like, right before the meeting would end, I would have to go back and make a new food item. Grab hot Cheetos, grab chips or something.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
There's no way you do this. This is crazy.
David Dobrik
I don't do it anymore. My hands, for some reason, don't sweat as much.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Oh, that's good.
David Dobrik
I don't know what it's, like, happened like, last, like, three years where it's like, stop doing it. Yeah. Well, actually, my hand's sweating now. Bell, you want to feel it?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah.
David Dobrik
Wait, really?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah.
David Dobrik
Dude, you're going to be.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
You're, like, a germaphobe, though, right?
David Dobrik
Your. Your mind's about to be blown.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
You make me open the door at amc.
Jay
Okay, Niagara Falls.
David Dobrik
I don't make you open the door. Hold on.
Jason
No, that's not what I said.
David Dobrik
No, I was. We were watching a movie, and I left the bathroom, and I saw Bella coming, and I just stood outside. I just stood outside the movie theater because I hate touching the handles.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah.
David Dobrik
And I was like, I'm just gonna wait till. Either I. I usually wait for a random stranger to come out so I can catch it with my elbow. Catch it with my foot.
Jay
Yeah.
David Dobrik
Because I'm going back into my popcorn and my burrito that I have inside, so I'm like, I can't touch this fucking AMC door.
Jay
Right.
David Dobrik
And then Bella just stood there. She's like, are you not going in? I'm like, yeah, after you.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
He has, like, a napkin. Open the door. I'm like, okay, okay.
David Dobrik
You ready? It's really sweaty.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I'm ready. Yeah. Look at this. Okay. It's like. It's like I got out of the shower.
David Dobrik
Yeah, it's really gross.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Ew.
Natalie
That's fucking disgusting.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
It's like leaving a mark on my pants.
David Dobrik
Sorry, fella.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Hol, you could get Botox in there.
David Dobrik
No, I know. That's just because I'm holding the mic and it's like this material against my hand. It's called hyper.
Natalie
The mic is dripping.
Jay
How hot the podcast is, how hot this episode is.
David Dobrik
Yeah, that's. I mean, that's why I, like, started to suck at tennis, because my rackets were just flying out of my hand. I couldn't get a good grip on them. Jay, I'm really excited for this. My best friend Mike is going to be really stoked we landed this. Because this episode is brought to you by Prize Picks.
Jay
Oh, sick.
David Dobrik
You and I make decisions every day, but on Prize Picks, being right can get you paid. Don't miss any of the excitement this season on Price Picks, where it's good to be right. This weekend is the beginning of the NFL season. Of course, my roommates John now, are always watching the Bears. They're watching the Bears.
Jay
Yeah.
David Dobrik
Alex and I have been on Prize Picks and we're taking it super seriously. Right. Which is fun because I don't know much about football, but now I do. And now I have, like, a reason and a purpose to watch the game.
Jay
It makes it so fun when you're. When you're using price, it's like you're playing a game.
David Dobrik
Yeah. And it almost feels like it brought me closer to Alex because that was always our disconnect.
Jason
Is that sports.
David Dobrik
I like playing with Barbies, and it was a little bit different. But Prize Picks is the best way to win cash this football season. You can make your picks in less than 60 seconds and turn your takes into cash all season long. On Prize Picks, I also love that they invented the Flex play, which means you can still cash out if your lineup isn't perfect. You can double your money even if one of your picks doesn't hit. Download the app today. Use code views to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That's code views, guys. To get $50 in lineups after you play your first five dollar lineup. That's 50 bucks in exchange for 5 bucks. Price picks. It's good to be right.
Jay

Isabella Lopez (Bella)

David Dobrik
See mintmobile.com and then you met, you met Jason, you met me, you met all of everybody. You were here working basically every day because the office was in there.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
It was like with TikTok, I had a film of Jonah and Ilya making out. Like, it was like, so weird.
David Dobrik
Oh, was that. That was one of your first things?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah, one of my first things things. My first task was filming Nick.
David Dobrik
You're filming your boss.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
And then they both run to the backyard and throw up. I was like, I love working here. No, I loved it. Everybody was so amazing. And I genuinely loved coming to work so much every day. It was like I didn't have a desk. We all, like me, Alex, Emma and Ilya all fit into, which is now like a guest room. But the office at the time, and I didn't have a desk for a full year. I sat on the floor and worked on my laptop and Ilya's next to me in like this huge fucking cubicle desk. I'm like, I just sit on the floor.
David Dobrik
Ilya's sitting in a throne while I was on the floor.
Jay
That's right, because Zila was here in that room.
David Dobrik
Who is your favorite from the videos?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Probably Ilya.
David Dobrik
Ilya. Oh, wow.
Natalie
We're all going to your wedding in like a month.
David Dobrik
Oh, yeah. Now we're going to your wedding.
Natalie
Isn't that funny? We're all going to be thereabella's wedding.
David Dobrik
That's really funny.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I actually haven't given Jason his invite yet, so he's probably holding.
David Dobrik
Wedding.
Jay
Interesting. No, I heard about it because I think I got Alex a gig to dj and then he was like, oh, that's the night of Bella's wedding. And I was like, oh, okay.
David Dobrik
Wait, when is the wedding? Is it that soon? You got October 7th.
Natalie
October.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
It's so.
David Dobrik
Oh, my God.
Jay
Coming up.
David Dobrik
That's crazy.
Jay
Yeah, we talked about it yesterday. You. You're ready. You have a lot of trepidation.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I'm. I mean, I'm nervous, but.
David Dobrik
How long have you been with your boyfriend?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Nine years.
David Dobrik
Fiance. That's fucking crazy.
Jay
Yeah. Since they were 17.
David Dobrik
That's fucking wild. Yeah, that's crazy.
Jay
That's fun.
David Dobrik
Was he, like, your first boyfriend?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
No. I had a boyfriend before that for, like, two years. Same name.
David Dobrik
Wow, that's nice.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I kept it easy.
David Dobrik
Yeah.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
But, yeah, I mean, like, technically, I guess, like, probably. First boyfriend. I'm his first girlfriend.
David Dobrik
Is that, like, a normal thing for people from Torrance or wherever you're from.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Torrance, from Bay Area.
David Dobrik
Is that, like. Is that normal for you guys to just, like, find the first person in high school and then, like, stick with them?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I mean, like, I. We had the same path. Like, I think Covid actually, like, helped a lot because I was going to go to college.
David Dobrik
People always say, like, the. What is like, the second or third years where you kind of figure it out?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
It was. That was like, the worst, really. Like, our senior year of high school. And, like, you could just feel, like, the separation and you either, like, lock in with that person and, like, try to keep going or you don't. And there was just, like, this middle. He'll say the same thing. Where it was just kind of like, do I like this person still?
David Dobrik
Like, is that how it was for you, Jay? Big, serious, like, what, like, you've had a lot of relationships?
Jay
Yeah.
David Dobrik
How long have you been with Naveen? Not married.
Jay
Not married. Three years.
David Dobrik
Oh, this is the time you're already married. This is when you figure out if it's gonna work.
Jay
Yeah. We rushed right into everything. So.
David Dobrik
Dan, that was crazy. Wait, how fast did you get married in like, a year?
Jay
Really fast. Yeah.
David Dobrik
Yeah. Well, I guess if you're your age, it's like, who cares, right?
Jay
Yeah. If it's my age. Yeah. Cause it's. For me, it was like, well, I'll probably just be alone for the rest of my life. And then someone wants to marry me.
David Dobrik
And I'm like, oh, you'll take it?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Okay.
Jay
You know what I mean?
David Dobrik
Are you sure?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah.
Jay
I didn't even want to get married.
David Dobrik
Right.
Jay
You know what I mean? Like, was not something complaining about. It's not something that I was like, no, no, no, no. It was, like, not something I was looking for at all. Yeah, but, I mean, I don't want to go on a router. But yeah, she's the best. I mean, like, I got really lucky.
David Dobrik
What about your previous relationships? Like, have you ever heard of the two, three year thing is, like, that's where, like, it gets challenged. Challenging.
Jay
I've heard of seven year, Seven year itch, which is more of an Older. It's like a. More of a marriage in seven years. In. You're like, it's called the seven year itch.
David Dobrik
Seven year itch to hook up with other people.
Jay
Yeah. Or just to get out. Yeah. I mean, my marriage lasted 10 years, and so.
David Dobrik
Damn. So you were itchy for three years. That's crazy. When you got a divorce finally.
Jay
Yeah, right?
David Dobrik
10 years. What was that like? Was it just like, fuck, yeah, I'm single? Or were you like, fuck, I'm so much older than when I was single.
Jay
No, it was. It was just mostly, like, crushing, like, for the. For the kids.
David Dobrik
I'm just like. I'm, like, looking at it completely. I'm like, what club did you go to immediately?
Jay
No, because by.
David Dobrik
My kids hated me by then.
Jay
You're like, you're. You're too old. You're too old to experience. Like, what? Like, if. If you. If you had a girlfriend and you broke up right now, you're like, oh, fuck, I'll go to Zook. You know? But by the time you're 42, it's like, oh, it's over. So it's like this complete rebuild of this completely different person. And then this constant thing where you're like, can I work it out? Can I work it out for the kids? Can I go back? Can I go back? And when you're away for a while, you're like, okay, things are good. She doesn't hate me anymore. And then you're like, maybe I could go back. But you can't.
David Dobrik
You called for the divorce? No. Yeah.
Jay
Yeah.
David Dobrik
I mean, I don't think you want to be rude. It was neutral, but I think you probably threw it out there.
Jay
I mean, she's awesome. We just didn't get along anymore. She just had. She just didn't get along. It was really. It was tough. I loved her. She was so fun to be with. She's the best. She's really fun. You know, I figured something out. Like, three years after we were divorced, we were all hanging out, and all the women got bombed. And my friend turned.
David Dobrik
All the women got.
Jay
We were all hanging out with, like. We were all hanging out with, like, her friends. We were hanging out with all her friends, and they all got bombed. And they were. They were being so fun. And my other friend, who's married to her friend, was like, yeah. He's like, you just have to get them bombed. She's like, you just have to get them drunk. And I was like, oh.
David Dobrik
Oh, damn.
Jay
I wish I knew that.
David Dobrik
Oh, then they're Fun. Yeah. Oh, interesting.
Jay
But I never thought that way. I was always like, oh, I can't get drunk.
David Dobrik
Yeah, but you also can't just be like, my wife's only fun when she's hammered. I don't think it's gonna fix your itch.
Jay
No, she was. She's fun when she's not hammered. I'm not. I'm not trying to, you know, say anything negative. Yeah, that was just, like, a funny thing I noticed.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I also wanted to say, should I tell the story of how Ilya told me about him and.
David Dobrik
Oh, wait, do you want to hear it? Yeah, of course. Okay, wait, wait. Let me give backstory. So. So Ilya and Emma are dating. They've been dating for, like, what, two years? Yeah, a year and a half. Emma started working at DO and then.
Natalie
She'S our first hire.
David Dobrik
She was a first hire at Dobrik, and Ilya was running Dobriks, and then they started dating, and no one really knew.
Natalie
Yeah, no one knew it at the start. Yeah.
David Dobrik
Yeah. And then this is the story of. Ilya was also running Zela, so. And Bella was working for Zila. So then this is how you found out.
Natalie
And all of the offices were under. Were one office. Both companies operated out of one office. So you guys were hanging out a lot, and you and Emma became, like, close friends.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah.
David Dobrik
Oh, yes. That's the big one. Ilya. Or Emma and Bella were, like, best friends.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah. And best friends.
David Dobrik
Yes. She's emphasizing this because I think she was pissed that it took Emma so long to tell her.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
She didn't even tell me. Ilya did. It's like, it doesn't matter anymore.
David Dobrik
See the rage in Belle's eyes?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Doesn't matter anymore.
David Dobrik
Wait, how many. How many months was it?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
They were dating for, like, a year. And everybody knew. You, Alex, fucking everyone.
David Dobrik
Yeah, I was like, I definitely knew. Within a year, you guys knew.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I mean, Ilya lived here, but.
David Dobrik
Wow, that's crazy. No.
Jay
Yeah. I didn't know for two, three years. I think I just found out. No, I really didn't. And that kind of pissed me off a little bit.
David Dobrik
Wait.
Jay
It kind of made me kind of.
David Dobrik
Mad that you didn't know, because I.
Jay
I really like Ilya. I think he's, like, the best. And the fact that he didn't tell me, I was kind of like, well.
David Dobrik
All right, we're just shitting on Elliot. I think.
Jay
I think Ilya is the best. So it does bother me a little bit, because then you're kind of. Well, why. Why didn't I know How.
David Dobrik
How did you find out?
Jay
I literally. I literally maybe heard you gossiping once, and I was like, what? Like, you assume that I knew, right? Because it was that far gone. It was that late. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I was like, what are you saying? What are you saying right now, Emma?
David Dobrik
That's really funny. Yeah.
Jay
I didn't know. So they did a good job hiding it.
David Dobrik
Yeah. Or some could say now. When did you find out?
Natalie
Yeah, not for a while.
David Dobrik
Oh, okay. So you found out year one, Bella.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Not. You guys knew before me, because I asked you the next day.
Natalie
Yeah, I knew before Bella.
Jay
I think that's weird. I think that's weird to, like, not tell somebody that you're together.
David Dobrik
Well, I think it was, like, because they were working together, but.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
So he.
Jay
He owns the company, right?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
But they had, like, a gm and, like, things were rolling at Dobrik's that I don't think they wanted to, like, mess it up by, like, hr, this weird relationship office of four people that worked there. But that. That is what was weird. It was just, like, five of us. And then I was like, okay, so Ilia picked the only other girl in this pod.
David Dobrik
Festival Bellpot was pissed. Could have been me.
Jay
Did you get flown down? Well, I did.
David Dobrik
Okay. Okay, wait, so how did you find out?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Okay, so this is when Zela was, like, doing so much shit. Remember, we went to, like, Vegas, and that was.
Jay
Oh, right.
David Dobrik
You guys were, like, planning trips every week.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Every week. Like, for Susie's documentary. So we went to Vegas for Spartan. We went to Maui and Emma.
David Dobrik
Oh, my God. You guys went to Maui.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
It's crazy. We went to Miami.
David Dobrik
Yeah.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah. Budget was like, through the roof.
David Dobrik
Through the roof. Marvel movies.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah. $500,000 for a YouTube documentary.
David Dobrik
Yeah.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
We were ballin. See that office on. So we went to Vegas, and that was the first night that. It was weird. It was maybe, like, 10 months before I found out about them. So we. It was me and David and Alex and Emma and Ellie in the elevator. And Emma's like, I just want to go back to the room. And I was like. Because we were going to your hotel room to, like, eat Taco Bell or something. And I was like, okay. And Ellie's like, yeah, I'm just going to walk her there. And they, like, stayed in the elevator and we left. And, like, I think you knew already.
David Dobrik
You.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
And I don't know if Alex knew, but I knew you knew.
David Dobrik
I'm sorry, I missed. Where is this? What? Look. Vegas Elevator.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
After marshmallow, we Were with Joe and Kate. John, Julie, Kate.
David Dobrik
I have such a bad memory. Okay. Yes.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Anyway, we're just in Vegas for a Spartan, and we went out to the club. So I'm like.
David Dobrik
I just.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I didn't think anything of it, but I remember when I found out about Emma and Ilia, you were like, are you dumb? And then you brought that up. You're like, in Vegas, they literally, like, went back to our hotel room. Then the next morning, she was, like, late getting to the car to, like. Because we drove to Vegas to, like, drive back. We stopped at this Dairy Queen because Ilya said Emma, like, loves the cherry dip cones there. Why the fuck are we stopping at Dairy Queen for Emma right now? I want to get fucking home. He's like, she just loves the cherry dip cones. I'm like, why do you care so much? So that was a kid.
Jay
So anyway, that's really funny.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Things go on. Like, I'm just noticing weird things in the office is, like, at that point. Like, back rubs, like editing sessions. She's, like, on his lap. I'm like, okay.
David Dobrik
Oh, my God. And you still were like, bella, come on.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Why would I lie?
David Dobrik
No, I know. You're just like. I guess you know. What are you talking about?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah, I mean, it was me and Daryl, and, like, I don't know, we just.
David Dobrik
She's on his lap, and you were just like, there they go, ending the dot.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I just thought maybe, like, we didn't have. We didn't have, like, an extra chair. I'm kidding.
Jay
Okay, so Emma's feeding Ilya graves. Bella comes over with her mouth open, like, I'll take one.
David Dobrik
I'll do a grave while you're giving me. Bella sits on Ilya's lap.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I think that's the protocol.
David Dobrik
Time to watch the doc.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Some room, some room.
David Dobrik
Give me that knee.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Ew. Oh, my God. Okay, so it was, like, this random Sunday night. Sorry. This is how I found out. Ilya calls me. It's like, 6pm he's like, I need you to come to the house right now. I was like, I remember this.
David Dobrik
I remember this on Sunday.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I was, like, freaking out. Oh, he's gonna fire me.
David Dobrik
Yes. Yes, I remember this.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
He's gonna let me go. And I was like, okay. But no one works there.
David Dobrik
You were the. I think you were the most anticipated, like, that.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I was gonna. He thought I was gonna quit.
David Dobrik
He was most scared of telling you.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah.
David Dobrik
Yes.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Horrified.
David Dobrik
Yeah.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
So I, like, walk. I walk into the house, pitch black downstairs. I'm like, no one's Here, I sit on the couch. He runs downstairs. He goes, come on. Just like that. Come on. I'm like, okay. So I follow him. I'm like, where are we going? He's like, get in the car.
David Dobrik
What the. Execute.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Get in the car. So I get in the car and I'm, like, freaking out. I'm, like, shaking. I'm like, what's going on? What's going on? Not saying anything. He's, like, laughing and giggling, and he, like, backs up his car and starts racing down the street. And I'm like. I was like, just tell me, please. I'm like, the verger tier is gonna start freaking out. Just fire me already. And then he goes. He stops the car like, this slay is on the brakes. All right? Me and Emma are dating. And I was like, what are you talking about? I was like, no, you're not. Like, why? Why the fuck would you do this? Like, this whole thing if it's just you and Emma dating? And he goes, we're dating. I said, no, you're not. No, you're not. He, like, keeps driving. He's fucking, like, dying, laughing, because I don't believe him.
David Dobrik
You thought it was a lot more dramatic.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah, I was like, no, you're not dating Emma. I was like, emma Pilmer. Like, no, Emma Bogan. Yeah. I'm like, what the fuck? I'm just sitting there like, what the fuck? I can't believe it because I'm in shock about my friend Emma hiding it from me for months. Ilya hiding it from me. Alex hiding it from me. Everyone hiding it from me. And then also just, like, how he positioned it, like I was going to, yeah, lose my job tomorrow.
Jay
To talk like that, to be that dramatic, you know, to be. To be the car and then be.
David Dobrik
Like, I think we told him that, too, though.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Cancer.
David Dobrik
Yeah, yeah. Like, it's like. It's like, yeah, we told him that. We're like, you just got to tell her.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah.
David Dobrik
Like, and it wasn't just like. He was like, he really loved Emma and still does, so it's just like. I was just like, you just gotta fucking tell her. Normally, like, it's fine.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
How he found out she liked him. Have you guys heard that story? Like, she had, like, a notebook and was writing, like, diary about. Yeah, I think it was in her notes app, actually, I don't think it was, like, a physical diary, but she was, like, in the car, like, looking at it, and she was like, no, no, wait.
David Dobrik
What was it? What was in the notes? Have you seen the Notes, all five units.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I think she was writing that she just like, had a crush on him or whatever.
Jay
Today came into work and ordered 500 units of treadmills. Suzy Strawberry shortcake prote. I can't believe how many grams of protein he's fit into this new batch. It's gonna be epic. I'm so proud of carbs.
David Dobrik
All while also making pizza. This man can do it all. Do you believe as girls do you believe that you can make new guy friends as like if you're in a relationship?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah. Alex is like one of my best friends. And like, that's your new.
David Dobrik
You're pretty good at it. I guess. But that's also. That also came from work. It wasn't like you. You do. I mean.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah.
Natalie
I mean, I don't know. I've like, kind of been single for two years, so I have lots of guy friends.
Jay
No, but when you're in a relationship.
David Dobrik
No, when you're in a relationship, like a lot of people say, like, once you're in a relationship, like, to make a new guy friend is strange.
Natalie
Yeah, I think.
David Dobrik
Well, vice versa also. Sorry. Vice versa?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah.
Natalie
To make a friend of the opposite sex is kind of interesting. I know. It's like frown. I think it just depends on the context. Like, I feel like our. Our job is just so social. Like I meet people all the time. Like, it's just a part of the job.
David Dobrik
Yeah. But I think there's a difference between it's a part of the job and it's like this is getting like, really social.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah.
Natalie
I'm not like befriending some random dude at a bar.
David Dobrik
Right.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah.
Jay
I feel like with Naveen, I feel like I've locked her down and stolen so much of her life that, you know, I mean, because she's so young and. And so I'm always like, oh, if she wanted to. She has like a guy friend that she goes and sees and I'm. I'm fine with it.
David Dobrik
Like, lies are out on boats. She has a guy friend of Minka knows and sometimes nature pay. Actually there's a couple of them.
Jay
I haven't heard from her for a while.
David Dobrik
Let's see.
Jay
It's been a minute. I should text her.
David Dobrik
Hey, baby, are you coming back? Taylor just texted me right now. Do you know what a peach?
Jay
Yeah, yeah.
David Dobrik
What a peach is like a. What is it, like a smoothie place. Yeah, she just texted me Hilary Duff at what a Peach. She's there right now in all caps. One of my. The fucking Hollywood fix grab the camera. Who am I supposed to to do?
Jay
You'll have to wait.
David Dobrik
Okay, so. And how did that affect your relationship with Emma? Like, how did you confront Emma? Were you like, Emma. What the.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
She actually called me. I think Ilya probably like, told her.
David Dobrik
Right, right.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
And then she called me and she was horrified, like, to tell me. And I was just like, damn. Like, what kind of. What kind of things do I give off that? It's just so scary to tell me.
David Dobrik
Yeah, right.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I describe it. I don't. I can't describe it, but we're still. We're still really close. She gave my bachelorette.
Jay
You said you had. You didn't have Chippendales, but you had pool boys. What's a pool bo. Is that like a hired person?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah, you, like, there's like this thing in Scottsdale where you hire, like pool boys to be bartenders. So they're just like pouring shots, playing games. They like, make it really.
Jay
Oh, they make it fun where they.
David Dobrik
Come to your house. Shut the fuck up.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
It's so disgusting. How many.
Jay
How many pool boys came to the house?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Two.
Jay
Okay, two.
David Dobrik
Were they super hot?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
They kind of were just like, like Love island kind of. Guys.
Jay
Guys listening?
David Dobrik
Yeah, guys.
Jay

Isabella Lopez (Bella)
So I've been. I was gone in Scottsdale last weekend, I guess two weeks ago now. So my car just was sitting in my apartment car garage just like unattended. And when I got back on Monday, I noticed my license plate was like a little slanted. And I was like, weird. Okay. Must just be coming loose because Jack put the plates on. I just don't trust that he screwed it in all the way. So I was like, oh, they're coming loose. I'll have him fix it this weekend. I'm not thinking anything of it. So my life is pretty consistent right now. I should get up, go to the gym, come home, watch my dog. So I just got up at the regular time. Was driving to Young LA for the whole week at the same time. So like 10am so anyway, the last day, I'm driving to the gym and two cop cars pull behind me and they're like on my ass and I'm like, okay, maybe they're trying to scare me. I was on my phone, I don't know. So I'm like swerving in and out of lanes trying to get rid of them and see if they're following me. And they're obviously following me. So I'm like, okay, I turn right, I'm going down the street and then I see two cop cars ahead of me and I see them get behind the other cops. So now there's four cop cars.
David Dobrik
Shut the fuck up. Yeah, there are four cop cars following you when you're going to the gym.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Going to the gym. So I pull into the Young LA parking lot and they just go whoop, whoop. And I see people in the gym start to come out because there's four cop cars in the parking lot and me. And then I roll down my window, I'm like, they're a problem. They're all like still in the cop cars. No one's coming to my window. And they're like, drop the keys out of the car right now. Hands like above your head.
David Dobrik
I was like, shut the fuck up.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Okay, So I dropped the key. Open the door with your left hand. I'm like, oh, my God. Like, I'm so in shock. I'm like, what the fuck's going on? Like, what did I do that was so bad? Yeah. So I open the door, I would pee. I have my hands like this, and I turn and they're like, turn around. Like, screaming. And I turn back around. But in that moment when I look back, the cops have, like, six rifles on me, guns. And I was like, are you. I was shaking again, talking about it. So they're like, get on your knees. And mind you, I'm in this, like, young LA sports bra and tiny shorts, and all these people in the gym are watching this happen. And I'm on my knees. They come grab my hands, put me in handcuffs, walk me back to the car and put me against the car. And I was like. I was like, what did I do? What happened? And meanwhile, the young LA people are like, let her go, Isabella. Let her go. She wouldn't do anything.
Jay
Wait, wait, what did they say? Isabella 15.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Well, no, they said she wouldn't do anything.
Jay
No, no, but they did. They used your code.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Oh, oh. I was like, use code Isabella. Code Isabella. That's how they addressed her. Ye.
David Dobrik
Oh, the young LA people, that's. They're the same code.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Isabella.
David Dobrik
That's her code. Isabella, 15 off.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Let her go. She's giving people 15 off. Young LA. She would never do anything.
David Dobrik
She just wants to help.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
So I'm against the car. I'm like, can you guys please just tell me what the going on at this point? They're searching my car and I'm like, okay, there. There's nothing there.
David Dobrik
What the fuck?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
No one's saying anything. I said, just tell me. And they're like, in a second, ma'. Am. Like, calm down. I'm like, how the fuck am I supposed to be calm? And I'm being arrested.
David Dobrik
They didn't ask you to search your car. They just went straight for it.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Went straight for it.
David Dobrik
Oh, my God.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
So finally the deputy is like, your plates are stolen. Like, that's my car, though. Like, check the vin, check the registrations, all in my car. They check it. And then that's when they're like, the person who has your plates is driving the same exact make, model and year as your car. Same look, everything. They just switched the plates so it looks like, like, I have the stolen car and they have my plates. And I was like, oh, my God.
David Dobrik
Like, no, that's crazy.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I was like, all this for stolen plates?
David Dobrik
Like, you couldn't car.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Oh, yeah, okay, yeah, yeah.
David Dobrik
But, like, wow. I. First of all, I didn't know cops in LA actually, like, look for stolen cars. I thought that's just like, a thing where it's like, yeah, your car's gone, dude, that's crazy. That's. That's actually kind of nice to hear that.
Natalie
Well, this person that stole the car must have also done something.
David Dobrik
Must have murdered somebody or something, because there's no way cops care about just a car. And the way they came up on you, were they so apologetic?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Not really. They were like, sorry. Like, it wasn't like, oh, my God, we're so sorry. But they were also not.
David Dobrik
I guess it's not their fault.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
They had probable cause because everybody. I, like, posted this story on Snapchat and people were like, you have to sue. I was like, like, yeah, you think that's gonna go over well? I'm just gonna get million dollars for nothing.
Jay
What's the move? They switch the plate and then what? They. They drive the car around or. I don't get it. They have more time with the car.
David Dobrik
Yeah.
Jay
Or they take it to a chop shop.
David Dobrik
No. Or they could just leave the state, whatever the situation is, without, like, being detected by, like, where. Where the car is moving. So, yeah, they have more time, I would assume.
Natalie
But now you can track that license plate.
David Dobrik
Right? But now who knows? That person may be gone.
Jay
Right?
Natalie
True.
David Dobrik
Or it could be just, like a wild goose chase. He could have switched the.
Jay
Keep switching.
David Dobrik
He keeps switching the plates. Yeah. Well, it's crazy, just with young LA.
Natalie
Athletes all driving that car, it's crazy that it was parked in the parking garage. Like, somebody in your building, like, must be in on it.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
No, I don't. Like, I can't confirm it was there, and you can't. It could have been at Young la.
David Dobrik
Like, it could have been anywhere.
Jay
The real question is, Bella, after the police left, did you go in and work out?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I did.
Jay
Okay. Wow.
David Dobrik
Really? Did you lift heavier than you ever lifted before or less?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
I was kind of just, like, out of it. I was just working out to work out. I was checking my phone every three seconds just because, like, I was.
David Dobrik
So were you, like, a local celeb in there? Was everybody like, dude, what happened?
J
Okay.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
No, they were like, I knew you were a drug dealer.
David Dobrik
Well, Bella, thank you for joining us. Thank you for telling us about your time here at the company and hanging with us and watching Endgame when you're drunk. It's very sweet. Go check out. Plug something.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Young la. Code Isabella.
David Dobrik
Code Isabella. There it is. Go Watch. Go listen to Jason's podcast, All Good Things. And, Natalie, I don't know why I'm ending it on such a sombre. No, I think it's because Taylor's peeking through the door, and I'm like, what.
Jay
Happened with Lizzie McGuire?
David Dobrik
Taylor, Tay, what's up?
J
Major important decisions to be made. Immediate decisions. And your food is here.
David Dobrik
Also, what happened with Hilary Duff?
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
My gosh.
J
She was at, what, a beach?
Jay
What'd she order?
J
Isn't that so cool? I don't know. Reggie and Warren sent me a picture of her.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Oh, wow.
J
She has a new smoothie there. I just thought that was really. I mean, that's like, icon. Icon.
Isabella Lopez (Bella)
Yeah, she is.
David Dobrik
Thank you for reporting. I already got it on the pod, so everyone knows. Thank you so much.
Jay
I had a smoothie there.
David Dobrik
Yeah, you like.
Jay
You.
David Dobrik
No, no. Like, you had, like, your own smoothie there. I did like the Jason Nash smoothie.
Jay
Yeah.
J
She has her own smoothie now.
David Dobrik
Damn. They're getting all the celebs.
Jay
They're getting bigger celebs. They're getting big. That place.
David Dobrik
Yeah, yeah. You started it.
Jay
I started it.
David Dobrik
Hillary Duff probably walked into that place and was like, you know what you did with Jason Nash? Is it too much to ask for you to do the same thing with me? All right, guys, that's all the time we have. Bye.
Jason
Bye.
