Jay
What's up, guys? Welcome back to Views. We are back with another special episode. This one, it's about to get heated. Straight from the, Straight from the beginning. Jay, this, this podcast is really interesting because we had our first big roommate fight. Oh wow, you didn't even know about this?
Julia
No one knows?
Jay
No, no one knows here. It's really interesting. Jul. Julia, who's dating John, John, who's my best friend from my hometown, was almost. Well, actually, let me not, let me, let me start, let me backtrack. Okay, this is how it started. We told John and I started a group chat with Ilya, Jon and Alex and we're like, hey guys, boys night tomorrow, okay, let's go get a couple beers and let's like have a good time. And Ilya and John kept asking in the group chat. John's like, ill, why don't you bring Emma? And Ilya's like, well, because I want to have a fucking fun night with the boys. Like, this is, it's boys night. And John said that two times. And I knew where John was going with this. John was trying to insinuate that he wants to bring Julia, but Ilya made it very clear that Emma's not coming. It's boys night. And not only that, then Ilya texted us that morning and was like, hey, so something, something's come up. I have to hang out with Emma. And we were like, well, let's go around this. Like, why don't you hang out with Emma first and then you do boys night later. So, so Ilya was like, okay, I'm hanging out with Emma from 6:30 to 10:30. And then you guys had me for the rest of the night for boys night. And then we go. And then, and then we're going to this party. That's where we're all meeting up. The roommates and I are going to the party, and then Ilya's gonna meet us there with his own car. Ilya FaceTimes in the car. Actually, let me backtrack just one more second. We're going, we all meet downstairs and Julia comes down and so now Alex and I. Alex, what are you thinking? Well, no, first I was like doing something in the kitchen and I see Julia in a dress. I'm like, oh, you're coming? I thought it was boys night. But like, in a. Like whatever. In like a nice way.
Ilya
There's no nice way to say that. Okay, yeah, yeah, that's the wrong thing to get. Alex, you should have fucking. Yeah, you should have turned around and looked in the fridge.
Jay
No, in the moment, I meant nothing by it. And then later I was like, oh
Ilya
my God, what else did you take? When a girl walks in and you go, is that what you're wearing?
Julia
Yeah.
Ilya
And you don't mean anything by it?
Jay
Wait, no, that's not what she's saying. That's not what he's saying.
Natalie
It's like that.
Jay
It's like, oh, it's like that. So, okay, so then. And then also Julia texted me like an hour before and she's like, she's like, hey, is it possible to add me and my friend Hannah to the list? And obviously I'm like, okay. But in the back of my head I'm like, john didn't fucking tell her it's boys night. And like, I'm not gonna break the news to her. Cause that's not my responsibility. And I feel really fucking weird about it. So then we're on our way to the party and Ilya, FaceTimes, he's like, who you guys with? And I'm like, uh, oh, here it goes. He's not gonna come anymore. And I'm like. Cause he was set on boys night. And he told Emma to kick rocks. Basically just cause we're having this special night, us boys, which really never happens. And then I' I'm with John, Julia and Alex, and he's like, oh, okay. And then he meets us there at the party and he comes right up to me and he goes, what the fuck is going on? He goes, is this boys night or is this not boys night? And now we're being very weird around Julia and her girlfriend. We're like, in our own little area. Cause Ilya is chewing out John. Ilya's like, you fucking moron. Like, I had to tell my girlfriend to stay home because it's boys night now. This makes me look stupid that Julia's here. And also it's boys night. Like, I want to just hang out with the boys. Like, we love Julia, so let's put that out there.
Julia
Allegedly. Allegedly.
Jay
Allegedly. Everyone does. So, like, we have no problem with Julia. But when you. When the boys are hanging out, it's very different.
John
This.
Jay
I mean, this is when all the girls are hanging out, whatever. And then, and then we get to the car. Cause we're leaving, we're leaving. We don't know what to do. So Alex and I and Ilya go to the car ahead of John, Julia and her girlfriend Hannah. Cause they're talking to some people at the party. So we were like, let's go brief in the car and figure out what happens. All of a sudden, Julia comes up to the window while me, Alex and Ilya are in the car in the Rolls Royce. The lighting's amazing, so I could see everything clearly. And Julia goes, fuck you guys. Fuck you guys. Fuck you, Ilya, and fuck you, David. And we're like, what? And Ilya and I are so. Because we've been awkward already, and this was so awkward, we just started sinking into our seat, right? We're like, what the fuck? What's going on? What's going on? And Julia's really pissed. I mean, Julia, go ahead.
Julia
Yeah, I was pissed.
Jay
Like, really pissed.
Julia
And I'm usually so chill.
Ilya
Okay.
Julia
I'm like 90% chill.
Ilya
Of course we know that.
Natalie
So wait, were they just going to leave you by your side?
Jay
Yeah, no, Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. Wait, wait, wait.
Julia
We've heard the mail side of this story this entire time.
Jay
No, no, no. Well, I'm about to get. No, this is. This is the. The gender. That up here are the males. Yeah, but it is just. Is the male. That's what it is. It's just John, all male.
Julia
John at the party, fucked up in this situation.
Ilya
No.
Jay
First of all, John never communicated with her that it's boys night. Strike one. And then at the party, John texts Julia and goes, hey, it's boys night. Can you walk around somewhere else? Oh, my God. Okay, so that's Julia into fucking rage.
Julia
And I'm trying.
Jay
Not only that, but then we were pissed because we were like, john, you fucking snitching bitch. Like, you went to Julia and you told her that we're like, frustrated because it's boys night. So it was John. And I told John I was like, a friend to everyone, is a friend to no one. And you just played all sides and you just fucked everything. Yeah. So, okay. God. Julia, your turn. You can talk to. You can talk to now. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Narrator/Advertiser
Thank you.
Natalie
Women unite. Go, Joel.
Ilya
Get him.
Julia
So starting off the night, obviously, they were all being weird. Like, so weird. And I'm like, empath, final boss. You know?
Jay
Like, I feel right under me.
John
She's.
Jay
She is like, I am the leader of the empath.
Julia
No, he's obviously not.
Jay
And then she's there.
Julia
I'm like, the top empath. So when I talked to Al down in the kitchen, I already knew, like, something was off. I was like, he's being a little weird.
Jay
That's in your head. No, that's so in your head, Al.
Julia
I can read you like the back of my fucking hand. I know when something's going on. I've like, we.
Jay
I was quiet.
Julia
Yes, you were just really, like, weird. So I already knew something was off there. I went upstairs to John and I told him. I was like, hey, if this is a boys night, like, I don't have
Jay
to go, you fucking idiot. She even gave you an out there.
Julia
I did. And I was like, I don't have to go. Like, I don't want to, like, overstep anything. Like, I understand that this is, like, a sacred thing for them. Right? And then he was like, no, no, no. Like, it's fine, it's fine. And at this point, I already, like, dragged my friend Hannah into it. Right?
Jay
So wait, John should say something too. So he's here?
Narrator/Advertiser
Yeah.
Julia
What do you want?
John
What do you want me to say?
Julia
He's fucking guilty.
John
I just. I just wanted to kumbaya with everyone in that moment.
Jay
In that moment. What are you thinking?
Julia
Yeah.
Jay
When she. When she goes up to you and she's like, is it boys night? Is this the first time you directly asked him if it was boys night?
Julia
No, we also talked about it before because he. He's the one who told me to invite Hannah.
Jay
Oh, what the fuck?
Julia
He was like, you should invite Hannah.
Ilya
Well, wait a minute. John Logic, right? He has a friend.
Julia
Yeah.
John
John logic. Okay, let me explain.
Julia
He was like, are you sure? Because I. Cause he had mentioned something about Ilya coming. And then I was like, if this is a boy's night, like, I don't want to go. Like, I'm fine. Like, I'll stay home. And he's like, no, no, no, Invite Hannah. Text Dave. So he told me to text you, which now I'm realizing is, like, he, like, manipulated the fuck out of your situation because he knew you wouldn't tell me.
John
No.
Jay
Yeah. Wait, wait, wait. I mean, that's why I'm. Okay, keep going. Keep going.
Julia
Yeah, but do you have anything to say about that part?
John
Me?
Jay
Yeah, you, John.
John
Sky's a little extra blue today. Huh?
Jay
Okay, you said the sky's a little extra blue. Yeah, translating for John.
Julia
You can't do yourself out of this.
John
I'm just okay in my head. All right? I knew where.
Jay
Where the party was, and I favorite John Point. The party was at the biggest house in LA. Ginormous house.
John
50,000 square foot.
Jay
Yeah, actually 50,000 square feet. So John thought, go.
John
I thought, like, hey, we could all be in the same place, but just doing our own thing.
Natalie
That's not how that works. When you're in a relationship with somebody, John, you can't just tell him to kick rocks in the corner. If it is 50,000 square feet.
Jay
That's crazy. John thought the party was so big.
Ilya
Go hang out by the mini golf course.
Jay
Yeah, John thought the house was so big that he can just have both of the nights at the same time. He can have boys night by the pool, and then in the kitchen, he'll have girls night.
John
Yeah, yeah. Like, I just, you know, it's a big place. It's not like I'm not telling you. Go somewhere in that corner. No, you literally can't see them, Honestly, the entire night, if you wanted to.
Jay
Okay. All right, Julia, continue your story.
Julia
Okay, so then that happened. I already knew vibes were off. We get in the car, it's awkward as fuck. It's so silent. Like, no one's really talking to each other. And so I was trying to, like, make jokes. Like, oh, we all hate each other or something. Like, what's going on? And then we were talking about how weird and silent it was in the car.
Jay
Yeah. First I brought up, I was like, the Rolls Royce is, like, really quiet. Like, it's like. It kind of. It's almost one of those rooms where you can, like, hear your blood. And people say, like, if you're in it for too long, you'll go insane.
Ilya
Yeah.
Jay
And then Julia goes, yeah, yeah, that's right. Okay. I thought we just all, like, hated each other today or something. And then we were all kind of, like, silent, like. No, no, no, it's not that. It's the silence of the Rolls Royce. You obviously, like, mentioned that for a Reason. Did you read that? Cause I didn't read that for sure.
John
Yeah, yeah.
Jay
That's why it was so awkward. Yeah. Wow. Oh, well, dude, you gotta fix that, because we don't know. No, I wasn't gonna. Because it was not my fight to fucking. I'm not gonna fight with somebody's girlfriend.
Ilya
Drop it right then and there.
Julia
Yeah.
Jay
Drop what?
Ilya
Just drop boys night. Be like, hey, we'll do it another night.
Julia
Exactly. Right?
Ilya
That's like, why. And why, why is.
Jay
Ilya was dropped because she was in the car.
Julia
It wasn't dropped.
Ilya
No, no, no. At that point, at that point, you go like this, you go. You go, oh, fuck, John fucked up. Cut my losses. Let's all go. Have a good night. And there's no reason why Ilya should be yelling at John. He's a grown man.
Jay
Because Ilya wasn't going to come out if, if, if it wasn't like a boys night. Like, it. We don't have boys nights. We don't ever have boys nights. Right. To get Ilya to come out is very rare.
Ilya
Sure.
Jay
So him coming out. I was already on the FaceTime. I was. I wanted to hang up right away, just. So he just meet us at the house and I'll deal with it there.
Ilya
Right?
Jay
Because I know this. I mean, just like, it happened at the house. The second he got there, he was like, why the fuck did you tell me to come out? Right Not. And he already told his girlfriend to leave, so I couldn't just drop it because this was going to be a problem once we got to the house. So I was like, trying to think of how this is gonna unfold. Okay. And then at the house.
Julia
Yeah. So then we get to the house and then they're acting very strange the second we walk in, where I feel like, oh, I should maybe go home. Like, this is really weird. Like, they're kind of like, with each other. Like, I'm literally standing behind John the whole time. I'm like, God, I hope my friend gets here. And then I was worried, oh, my God, when she gets here, how are they gonna act with her? So. And then she finally gets there. They are, like, nowhere to be found, right? Like, I don't even know where they went. And then my friend, like, we finally, like, go have to walk around and find them 50,000 square feet. And then Dave doesn't even look at her and walks by her. And I was like, oh, my God. And then, thank God you saved yourself by turning around and was like, oh, hey, Hannah. Alex was also Being weird as hell. Like, you were staring at us, but you didn't even come up and say hi.
Jay
I did, I did.
Julia
No, you were staring at us for so long. And then after, he were probably talking to people. Anyways, that was, like, weird vibes for me. And then finally we get upstairs and my friend Hannah is like, hey, like, I can go home. And I was like, no. Like, it's, like, it's fine. Like, they're just being, like, weird. I don't know. And then at that point, I'm like, oh, my God, she knows. So I feel even worse, right? And then John texts me, hey, we're having a boys night. Can you guys go around somewhere else? And so then I'm like, distraught. Like, I'm so, like, oh, my God, this is the most, like, fucked up situation I could ever be in.
Jay
John, that's crazy, by the way.
John
It's so crazy to say, hey, look, guys, just talk.
Jay
I'm taking Blake on all sides because meanwhile, when. And then Julia, you ended up coming up to the Rolls Royce.
Julia
Yeah.
Jay
And bitching us out.
Julia
Yeah.
Jay
And. And while Julia is yelling at us, like, because Alex was sitting in the back, so she'd take turns yelling at the front seat and the back. And the second she'd go yell at Alex, Ilya would look right at John and go, I'm gonna fucking murder you. Cause, like, it was a crazy. Like, that was. That was also. That was also crazy. That, like, that conversation that we were having, us guys got over to Julia. No offense, like, but you know what I mean? Like, if that happened the other way, you'd feel betrayed. Like, it was just. It was very. You played all sides and it was fucking crazy. And Julia, I've never seen you that upset.
Julia
No, I was so upset.
Jay
You were almost on the brink of tears.
Julia
I cried. I got so. And then they ordered me an Uber home and I cried in the Uber. And the Uber driver was like, is everything okay? And I was like, yeah, my boyfriend's just an asshole.
John
Oh, okay.
Jay
I didn't know that.
Julia
I did. I cried home.
Natalie
John.
John
Hey, man.
Julia
Yeah, it was messed up.
Jay
And then I remember. I remember John was, like, trying to. Trying to order the Uber and we're, like, making sure that it's like, a black. And he was being really weird about it. He didn't want to order the black XL Honda Corolla. Pulls up. Yeah, yeah.
Natalie
Like, we'd be broken up on the spot. I'd be like, bye. If you got me a Honda Corolla and told me to Tell my girlfriend
Jay
what's a Honda Corolla, guys? Yeah, guys.
Ilya
I mean, Toyota Corolla.
Julia
What?
Ilya
Sorry, John. When you.
Jay
When you.
Natalie
When he said it too. I knew that he said it.
Ilya
I know I said it wrong, too. I was like, why is Dave not laughing?
Jay
Guys, if you're looking to do something this summer, there's a good chance it involves getting tickets. Which is why I want to give the sponsor of today's video, SeatGeek, a huge shout out. With over 35 million downloads, SeatGeek is the number one rated ticketing app. There are more than 70,000 events listed on SeatGeek, including concerts, sports, festivals, and more. All you got to do, download the SeatGeek app to see what's happening around you. SeatGeek has your back. Each ticket is rated on a scale of 1 to 10. So you know you're getting a good deal. So look for the green dots. Green means good, red means bad. Plus, every ticket is backed by their buyer guarantee. Guys, listen. Jason's kids, they have a band. It's no longer called the Great Pacao. Yeah, what is it called?
Ilya
It's called Nudie.
Jay
Nudie. So if you want to go see them. Yeah, there's a good chance to get tickets.
Ilya
Yeah, you can get them on SeatGeek.
Jay
The best place to get them would be SeatGeek. Literally, for any kind of event, we're talking about sporting events, concerts, even sermons, anything.
Ilya
It's the best.
Jay
To make it even better, you can use code VIEWS10 for 10% off your tickets. That's 10% off tickets with promo code VIEWS10 on SeatGeek. Thank you, SeatGeek.
Ilya
Wait, John, when it initially sparked up, it's like, we're going to have a boys night. You get the text. What day was that? That day of.
John
No, no.
Ilya
Two days before.
Jay
I think three days before.
John
No. Cause it was supposed to be Friday, and we canceled on Friday and we moved it to Saturday.
Natalie
Did you, like, have, like. Did you forget that you planned a night with Julia that night? So you felt bad and you were like, I need to bring her and make this work.
Jay
No, he was all day with Julia. He was in at her family's house or somewhere.
Julia
He had also been asking me to go to this party, like, two days before.
Natalie
Well, here's the problem. John don't give a fuck about boys nights.
Julia
God forbid. John likes having his girlfriend around. That's all I got.
Ilya
No, no, no, no, no. The problem. Wait a minute. That's not the problem. I think John cares about boys night. It's What? Julia said John asked her to go to that party already.
Julia
Yeah.
Ilya
There's your problem.
Jay
When did you ask? Oh, yeah, I could see that. I could see that happening days before.
Ilya
Yeah, you can't. You can't say, hey, babe, let's go to the biggest house in LA and then say, hey, actually, I'm going with Dave and O.
Jay
And Ilya.
Ilya
And Ilya.
Julia
But also, like, remember, it's poisonous. But also, like, I kind of just. Even if he were to do that, I wouldn't be mad at him. I would rather him, like, tell me before. And that's why I was so mad at them too, because I was like, wait, I thought we had okay type of relationship where you guys can be like, hey, it's actually a boy's night.
Jay
Okay, okay, now. Now, Taylor and Natalie, you guys can chime in. And Jason Jay, she has a mic that.
John
Who do you think this is so messy.
Jay
Who do you think got, like. Do you think we deserve to be yelled at as, like, who was the main problem? What are the percentage breakdowns for issues?
Julia
Obviously, John's communication is the problem.
Natalie
Yeah, John is the. John is the source of the problem. He's the root of the problem. But you guys make the conscious decision to be friends with John on a daily basis. So.
John
Okay.
Narrator/Advertiser
I was.
Jay
Okay, hold on. I mean, I agree with that. Hold on.
Ilya
Yeah, that's a little John.
Natalie
John does shit like this all the
Jay
time, but this is the first time that it was anything like, like, obviously from here on out, we know now boys night, we're. We're sending out, like, we're sending an Amber Alert out, you know, to any. Any of our friends. Like, we have to communicate on his behalf, but for the first time, it doesn't feel like it's a thing for us to text his girlfriend and be like, hey, Jules, I know John's inviting you, but we've been trying to communicate with him that it's a boy's night.
Julia
Also, side note, my issue with you guys wasn't that, like, obviously I was mad that you didn't say that. Whatever. Like, now we know going forward, you guys can't tell me that. But my biggest issue is how you guys treated me and Hannah when we were at the party. Because if it were me and you guys, like, showed up on a date or something, I would never treat you guys the way you treated us.
Jay
No, no, it was super weird.
Ilya
I agree.
Jay
Yeah, we were like. We were, like, sitting by the well because Ilya was just going off.
John
Yeah, he was just Yelling at me and, like.
Jay
And it was, like, it was no place for you two to be there because he was just going off on John. Yeah. And I mean, obviously I was enjoying it because I love when Ilya or anybody's yelling at anybody. So I was just sitting there. So, yeah, we should have definitely started to communicate with you guys there, but it was just. It was in the heat of the moment. I've never seen Ilya like that. I've never seen John caught in between, like, a fucking. The hardest spot. Yeah. Yeah.
John
I mean, again, I take. I take responsibility.
Jay
Wow. This is the first time he's saying that.
John
Yeah, it was my fault. You know, in my head, you know, the million and one chance did not happen where I could have, you know, my girlfriend in the same party as my other, you know, friends.
Jay
You totally could. Normally, any other day, did you think we just weren't going to see each other at all?
Ilya
It's that big.
Jay
Honestly, John's, like, dressed up as Miss Doubtfire. He's, like, running from one table to the next in different outfits. He's got a suit and tie on for his girlfriend. He's got, like, a Miami outfit on for the boys.
John
I mean. Yeah, Yeah. I mean, honestly. Yeah, it was.
Jay
Okay, well, now we know. Next time, Julia, we're sorry for how we were at the party. That was. That was really rude of us. And from now on, we will actually communicate, actually, on behalf of John. And that's. That's our responsibility as friends of John to understand that he needs a helper.
John
No, you know, I. Yeah, I mean, I just. I just. I got a. It is one of my weaknesses speaking.
Ilya
Yeah.
Jay
Many strengths. Many a man of many strengths, which is one weakness.
John
It's honestly my kryptonite, you know?
Jay
Yeah. English.
Julia
All right, well, thanks for apologizing.
Jay
Well, thanks for coming on the pod.
Julia
Anytime. Hopefully we don't fight anymore. It took a lot out of me.
Jay
No, I know. I couldn't believe it.
Ilya
What were you saying when Julia was yelling at you?
Jay
Well, I was just. I. Well, luckily we were.
Ilya
I know what you were doing. Why? Just, like, shriveling up?
Jay
Well, I just kept looking at Ilya and Ilya's like. And Ilya's just like, I'm gonna fucking kill John. I'm gonna kill John. I'm gonna kill John. And I'm like, no, I'm gonna kill John. I'm. John's a little fucking bitch. He's so mad at John. So mad at.
Ilya
Yeah. Are you guys gonna redo Boys Night?
John
It's gonna be a while.
Jay
Yeah, it's gonna be a long one. I think that it's kind of tough to, to get that going. And why it also meant a lot is because I had, like, I have to manipulate Ilya into Boys Night, right? Like, I sent a text a week before being like, hey, we should go to Chicago for Lollapalooza. I'll buy all the tickets. Just knowing that he's gonna say no to that, right? Just so then I could be like, well, I guess if you don't want to go to Chicago and go out, maybe we just do something here. And then he's like, you know, he's like, yeah, that's a lot easier. So, like, it's a long thing to put together a boys night.

What did you guys hope to accomplish on Boys Night? That's what I want to know. Like let's say, let's say John, I'm
Julia
like, why are you guys gonna do like suck each other?
Natalie
We literally make you guys have more fun. Like, that's the thing. Like you think you're having more fun by yourself, but like with the girls, like, vibes are through the roof.
Ilya
So John, let's say John communicates that to Julia.
Jay
Guys, this is, Come on, this is.
Ilya
Hang on, hang on, hang on. Let's say, let's say John communicates that to Julia and Julia's like, okay, cool. Yeah, go have boys night. Okay, what happens?
Jay
The main objective is just to get like unfiltered Raw. Ilya Yes. We can't get that. We can't. Like, you can't be unfiltered and raw with girls around, period.
Julia
Right.
Jay
Like, boys, like, girls need to have their alone time with their sex. Like, that's just like a thing. Yeah, yeah. Natalie has girls nights. She loves those.
Natalie
I'm forbidden from those, actually.
Julia
So would Ilya have, like, had alcohol and actually, like, partied and had fun?
Jay
No. Okay, just say yes. So I don't think it would have gone that far. I don't think we had him like, that kind of a boys night, but it would have gone a lot further. Well, actually, it's. I can't really tell.
Ilya
He would have done pips in the corner.
Jay
He would have. Cause he really liked that party we were at and I think if he wasn't stressed, he would have started putting him down.
Ilya
What's raw? Unfiltered, Ilya?
Jay
Like, it's not like, what's raw, Ilia? Unfiltered. It's just like what any guy's like.
Ilya
I like this.
Jay
It's just like, you have boys talk, like, you know, lame. Like, you talk about girls. Yeah. You talk about girls.
Ilya
Like, what are you talking about? Ufc? Spider Man.
Jay
Yeah, Spider Man.
Natalie
You just sound like a big, like 12 year old loser. That's what this is coming off of.
Jay
What are you talking about? You literally have girls nights with pajamas and you guys bake shit.
Natalie
Like, I don't think I've like literally ever done that in my life, but yeah, I will sometimes, like, get like a glass of wine and like a good meal or something.
Jay
Yeah. That's weird. Oh, and then Julia got mad at me because she's like, I invite you
Ilya
to all my girls nights.
Jay
We're doing coloring books.
Julia
It's true.
Jay
Which I have joined in on that.
Julia
She uninvited you into every single one of my girls nights.
Ilya
You invite Al to your coloring book girls night?
Jay
Well, I'm just here.
Julia
I don't look at him like, hey, can you go at a different place?
Jay
Julia was so pissed. Where? She was like, when you guys get back home, all your stuff's going to be outside. Like, all of us? Yeah. We were like, what?
Ilya
I told him I was gonna hide
Julia
all of his car keys.
John
Sleeping in the guest room.
Jay
Yeah.
Julia
Okay. Because you guys are kind of like 12 year old boys. Yeah. And then I was like, you guys are all 30.
Jay
Like, which is why it's important for us. So once in a while we don't have boys night alone.
Natalie
But you don't have to be like, you're, like, so weird about it.
Jay
I don't know what's going on here. Jay, whose side you taking, man?
Ilya
I. I think you.
Jay
There's not really a side. There's not really a side.
Ilya
No, I take. I'm always in defense of John.
Jay
Okay. That's the last side to be on.
John
Actually.
Jay
That is the only wrong side.
Ilya
Hey, sorry, I'm not.
Narrator/Advertiser
I'm.
Ilya
I'm in defense of John in that. So, like, you guys are 30, and as soon as Julia got into that Rolls Royce, you should have just been like. But that wasn't on whatnot.
Jay
Exactly. Like, we can't. We can't. I can't drop.
Ilya
You drop it. You drop it right away. You're like, okay, John fucked up.
Natalie
But John already had, like, so, like, fucked up so much that it, like, it feels like it was kind of irreversible, right?
Ilya
Because the text.
Natalie
The text is what set her off.
Ilya
Like, officially, the text comes exactly when you got into the Royals, when you left the house and Julia was there. It's like, okay, drop boys night. We'll do it another night and be done with it.
Jay
Okay? Yeah, but it was. But there was things set in motion, Jay. Ilya has already said goodbye to his girlfriend and he's on her way.
Ilya
You wanted Ilya to come to the party and yell at John. You know, that was in the back of your head. I know how you think.
Jay
Of course I did.
Ilya
Exactly. So you're. You're in the room, you're in the car, and you're like, oh, man, I'm gonna get hilly that party. Oh, and he's gonna light John. No, no, no. You should have said right then and there. Yeah, Julie's in the car and sent Ill a text like, hey, boys, nights off. That's it.
Jay
What? No, no. But then he wants to come.
Ilya
He can come.
Jay
No, I'd rather have Ilya come and yell than Ilya. Ilya.
Ilya
Okay, so that's fucked up.
Julia
Yeah.
Ilya
What?
Jay
Why? He needed to be yelled at. That was like the cricket.
Ilya
No, he didn't.
Jay
It was the biggest backstabbing I've ever received.
Ilya
It's not that much of a backstab. Backstabbing is a very strong.
Jay
No, he went. No, he's done.
Ilya
He's done with what? You'll be back.
Jay
He can't charge the car.
Ilya
You're so full of shit. Begging to hang out with John in, like, six hours.
Jay
No, obviously, I would love hanging out with John. I don't know where this is going.
Julia
Yeah. Jay, when was the last time you had a boys night?
Ilya
Me? Yeah, I had one last week.
Julia
Do you like.
Ilya
We all sat around, talked about colonoscopies, was great.
Jay
You guys don't talk about girls during your boy's night?
Ilya
No, it's all married guys.
Jay
That's exactly why you would talk about girls.
Ilya
Guys don't do that. Those guys don't. I mean, that's just like. Not even. Everyone's just checks their. At the door.
Natalie
What?
Julia
The hole.
Natalie
What?
Ilya
What?
Julia
So what do you guys talk about at these Voice nights?
Jay
Well, John usually leads all the conversations.
Ilya
He's such a dick.
Jay
Yeah, fuck you, John.
Ilya
Get the fuck out of here. I've never once. I've never once heard John say anything sexual about anyone.
Julia
Yeah, that's crazy.
Jay
Who you want to have orgy with? Anne Hathaway and who?
Ilya
Julia. How do you feel about John's love of Anne Hathaway?
Julia
You know, I support it. You do?
Narrator/Advertiser
Yeah.
Ilya
That's nice.
Jay
If Anne Hathaway was younger, would it freak you out?
Julia
I don't think so. Because, I mean, I love Harry Styles. Yeah, but if I'm so open about that.
Jay
But if it was like, oh, okay,
Julia
and he's like younger, but if it's
Jay
like Sydney Sweeney,
Julia
I don't think I would care. I mean, it's a celebrity crush. Everyone has him.
Jay
Wow. Okay. I just don't. I think like in la it's weird to have a celebrity crush.
John
Why? What you think. You think we could just touch celebrities or something?
Jay
Like, what do you mean?
Julia
Okay, that's crazy.
Jay
That's weird.
John
Like, I'm saying, like physically see them, like in person or something.
Jay
You gotta say this shit for boys night.
Ilya
What if Anne Hathaway showed up at boys night? What would you do? And Julia was home.
Jay
What do you mean she showed up at boys night?
Ilya
She showed up at that party.
Jay
Obviously there's a lot. Girls are allowed to be at the party.
Ilya
Yeah, I know. I'm asking John what would John do. I'm asking John what he would do.
John
Oh.
Ilya
What if you're sitting at the bar, Julia's home.
Jay
Yeah.
Ilya
You're at the bar, everything's going well. Anne Hathaway comes up and says,
Julia
hey,
Ilya
I'm looking for a Corona. What do you say?
John
A Corona?
Ilya
Yeah.
John
What is that?
Narrator/Advertiser
Coronavirus.
Ilya
What? You're sick.
Jay
I work in a lab. Or I did. I could show you. Okay, easier one. Julia's at home.
John
Mm.
Jay
You've had three beers. Okay, this is. This is boys night conversation. You wanted to hear it.
John
Here you go.
Jay
Anne Hathaway walks in the bar. Yeah, Walks. Beeline straight to you.
John
Okay.
Jay
Goes, I don't know who you are, but I've been dreaming about a Filipino man your size. And I. I don't want a relationship. I don't want anything. I just want one wild night right now. Come with me to my home. My driver's outside. No one will ever know about this. What do you do, you fucker?
Julia
Right, Right.
John
I don't know.
Narrator/Advertiser
Wow.
Jay
Wow.
Julia
You don't know.
John
I don't know what I would do.
Jay
John, stop doubling down on it.
Ilya
Oh, my God.
Julia
You say no. Okay. Right, Right.
John
I should say, what the.
Jay
What's wrong with you? That's so unfair to ask that. You know, he's not gonna handle it.
Julia
I gotta go.
Ilya
Okay. Can I put an addendum on that one?
Julia
Relationship's over.
Ilya
Hang on. Same thing.
Jay
Julia, shut up. I don't know.
Ilya
Same thing. Same exact thing Dave said, except Anne Hathaway says, I know you have a girlfriend. You just call your girlfriend right now and ask her if we can have one night together.
Jay
Jesus Christ.
John
I don't know.
Natalie
Julie, your girlfriend is sitting two feet away from you. The answer is just no, point blank, period. No matter if it even is yes.
John
Right? Yeah, I know. I mean, I'm just putting myself, you know, in that situation.
Julia
Like, dude, you are literally terrible.
John
Yeah.
Julia
Like, you're actually terrible.
John
No, come on. I mean, come on. This is like. It's like a one in a million.
Ilya
But I'm like.
John
I'm gonna say no, obviously.
Julia
I'll obviously say, what is wrong with you?
John
I just did the math.
Jay
Oh, my Lord. Oh, my Lord. Oh, my Lord. Oh, my Lord.
Julia
Oh, my Lord. Oh, my God.
Jay
Okay, guys, why did I do this? I genuinely thought it was a layup for him to go the other way, especially after everything that's been going on. I thought he was gonna make a joke, like, and stay away from me. But no, he was like, okay, let me weigh the options here.
Natalie
It's one in a million, so I should probably take the odds over under. Yeah.
Jay
All right, Julia, same situation for you. It's girls night. It's you, Hannah, Natalie, Tay. Harry Styles walks in, British accent. He's a little sweaty from his show.
John
I mean, come on.
Jay
Yeah, come on.
Julia
Really?
Jay
And he's like.
John
He's like.
Jay
And he's like, julia, it's not that bad. My driver's outside.
Ilya
My driver's outside.
Jay
Come back to my house. One Direction. We'll perform and then we'll make love. We'll make sweet love all night.
Julia
I would say, I have two hot single friends here.
Natalie
Oh, damn.
Julia
And I would put my friends forward. And then obviously, no way.
Jay
Actually, dead ass.
Julia
If I had my friends there with me, I would totally put them in there. What the fuck?
John
This is your, like.
Natalie
Yeah.
Julia
And they would tell me everything afterwards.
Jay
That's your Anne Hathaway.
John
No way. One Direction performing.
Julia
Well, Liam's dead.
Jay
Okay, well, they're all there. They're all there. This is a made up situation.
Julia
Even in that scenario, I genuinely would put one of my single friends in there. I'd be like, dude, go for it.
Jay
And that's how you answer that question, John.
John
That's crazy.
Jay
John goes, that's crazy.
John
I mean, there's no way.
Julia
A thousand percent. I would be like, dude, go for it. Tell me how it is after Matt,
Jay
do you think Julie's being honest?
Julia
I do.
Natalie
Yeah. 100%.
Julia
That's the right thing to do. I'm getting so frustrated, John. Like, you're actually frustrating me.
John
There's no way.
Natalie
I'm just curious. Like, John, you're gonna take Anne Hathaway to her bed and you're gonna sleep with her? Like, in this hypothetical. I know it's hypothetical.
John
It's a hypothetical situation. I mean, come on, guys. It's.
Natalie
But you won't even, like, talk about sex to, like, your friends, but you're gonna somehow slay your celebrity crush, you know?
Jay
Yeah, that's true. I will say this. John at Boys Night, doesn't talk. Let me defend him a little bit because he's actually coming off kind of strange. At Boys Night. He doesn't. He doesn't.
John
I don't. I don't.
Jay
He doesn't talk. He doesn't entertain. I don't have any conversation about girls.
Julia
Yeah.
Ilya
At all.
Jay
He doesn't do that. So this is why this hypothetical situation is actually very confusing. And yet what Natalie is saying is accurate. Like, for a guy who's never brought up sex in his life, but somehow
Natalie
when presented with the dream opportunity, he's gonna capitalize.
Ilya
No, I think he was saying, I don't know. Like, I don't know. Obviously I wouldn't have sex with her, but I don't know how I would respond. Yeah, is what he meant.
Jay
Oh, like, I don't know how I would say no.
Ilya
Yeah, yeah.
Jay
Like, yeah, yeah.
Ilya
And we obviously, we took that. We ran with it to make him look horrible. Cause that's what we do.
Jay
Yeah, we did do that. Okay, John, I'm sorry for giving you that question. Julia, I'm sorry for giving him that question.
Julia
Yeah, it's fine.
Jay
I'm sorry for revealing his true colors, Julia.
Julia
Yeah, thanks for revealing him now. Five years in
Ilya
five.
John
Here's the thing.
Jay
You finally know. Okay, so no Anne Hathaway movie premieres for John. Just. Just in the game. Just.
Julia
Let's see what actually happens. Just let me know.
Jay
Wow, that'd be a really good video to.
Julia
Yeah.
Ilya
When you watch an Anne Hathaway movie, do you, like, really enjoy it?
John
I just. I love it.
Ilya
Yeah. Like, she is a good.
Julia
I don't know. We watched the Odyssey and he was like, she's looking a little old.
John
Yeah, but they made her look.
Jay
Jesus, John.
Natalie
You know they made her look old in that one. Yeah, John. Oh, I'm just so confused on so many different levels, dude.
John
In Odyssey, she's like.
Natalie
No, no, no, I understand the Odyssey thing. I'm confused by one, your infatuation with Anne Hathaway, of all people, dumbfounds me. And two, just the fact that you're capitalizing on this fantasy of Anne Hathaway.
Jay
And then three, you won't even like, fully indulge in a Hathaway. You just called her old looking, which is like triple, quadruple room.
John
I'm saying for the movie. For the movie. She doesn't look like that in person, obviously. Come on, guys.
Natalie
You've never met her.
Jay
John.
John
I mean, I don't know. So we all don't know what I
Natalie
think the rest of us know, brother.
Jay
It's just you. John's like, so Julia would. Harry and I would. That's it for today's podcast. Thank you for listening. Wow.
John
Why can't we ever talk in this podcast about, like, positive, you know, about me? Every time I'm put in this room, I'm always getting yelled at. Every time I have not come here for once for, like, john, how was your day? No, it was like, john, this is what you did.
Jay
Okay, let's say nice things about John. Matt, go first.
Natalie
John, I like your smile.
John
Oh, thanks, Nat.
Jay
John, I think you're. You're. I mean, you know, this. Your most important part of this friend group. 1,000%. 1,000%.
Narrator/Advertiser
Thanks.
Jay
And we were talking about you in the John is dumb chat.
John
Yeah.
Jay
And we. That unfortunately, you're not in, but we were just talking about how important you are.
John
Thank you.
Jay
Yeah, we were talking about this moment when. We were talking about this moment when John fucked up. And Ilya was like. Ilya was like. Then Julia freaked out on us.
John
Fuck.
Jay
Maybe John's going through it. Sometimes when people are hurt inside, they do stupid shit. I just don't want him to be mad at himself and this group chat gets leaked and we all get canceled. So then Ilya started a new group chat with John and it's called the John is Awesome chat. And the first message is, john, you're the best and we couldn't do anything without you and we love you. And then he came back to the John is dumb group chat and he goes, what a fucking moron. No, no.
Ilya
Wow.
Jay
You're great at protecting your data, but lots of places could still expose you to identity theft.
Narrator/Advertiser
I thought it was safe.

Tax extra. Hey, it's Ryan Reynolds here for Mint Mobile. Now I was looking for fun ways to tell you that Mint's offer of unlimited Premium Wireless for $15 a month is back. So I thought it would be fun if we made $15 bills. But it turns out that's very illegal. So there goes my big idea for the commercial. Give it a try@mintmobile.com Switch upfront payment

Jay
All right, not to change gears here quickly, but guys, I have seen Spider Man. I know it's been my long awaited review. I've been wanting to give it. I went to go see it two times now. I went to go see it with Jason and Natalie and everybody. What did you guys think first?
Natalie
I mean, I love the Spider Man.
Jay
Is this spoiler Free or are we allowed to do spoiler? Probably spoiler free. Just in case.
Ilya
Yeah, spoiler free.
Jay
It's. First of all, Spider man is doing the best. It's beating Endgame and how well it's doing. Really fucking crazy.
Ilya
Really.
Jay
Opening day did better than Endgame and I think that's because they don't have IMAX screens. I have this whole theory in the fact that they didn't go to like even for me it was easier to buy tickets and I thought about it less because they didn't have IMAX screens.
Ilya
Yeah.
Jay
Sometimes movies only have IMAX screens and they sell out and then I'll be like, well I'm not buying a ticket right now. So I kind of just like postpone it cuz I want to only see an imax.
Ilya
Got it.
Jay
But this time there was no option to see it. So every movie time, there's like 40 show times a day at every theater.
Ilya
Yeah.
Jay
That where you can go see this fucking movie. So it's really easy to buy a ticket and I think that's why so many people bought. And now they're doing even a smarter thing where now they're releasing an IMAX in a week.
Ilya
Okay.
Jay
So everybody that's already seen it.
Natalie
Yeah.
Jay
Is going to, going to go back. They're gonna make so much fucking money. It's actually absurd. Okay. I think it's the best. I don't know if this is our take actually. I think it may be the best Spider man that we've ever had.
Ilya
Why, why do you say that?
Jay
I don't know.
Natalie
Just as a character or this movie.
Jay
I think I like if I put nostalgia aside, I think Tom is just like.
Natalie
Yeah.
Jay
If all three of them were to come out at the same time and I didn't have like this crazy affinity towards Toby Maguire, like Tom Holland would be the clear winner. Tom Holland is fucking Spider Man. Like he's all sides of it, right. He's cool, he's nerdy, he's, he's, he fits the build.
Ilya
Yeah.
Jay
He's cute and he's charming and he's, he's smart. Yeah. He's all.
Ilya
He looks youthful.
Jay
Yeah. And he, and he looks. And he actually could do the things that Spider man does. He can actually like move. Like it's just like.
Ilya
Yeah.
Jay
He is the best Spider Man.
Ilya
Yeah.
Jay
But if someone was to ask me like what Spider man movie should we put on? I would never say this one.
Ilya
Okay.
Jay
Like if it's a one off, do you know? I mean. Cuz like this wasn't like the most action packed, right? This is the Spider man where he fights the biggest villain, Green Goblin. Or like Doc Ock. Or like, I'd say like go watch no Way Home or go watch one of the original Spider Mans. But if you've seen all the Spider man movies and you're just a fan of Marvel, I think this is the best movie that's come out. I don't know. How do you take it, Jay? As an old guy who walked out at some important parts to use the bathroom.
Ilya
The Regal Cinemas, the medium. Coke is just like Diet Pepsi. Actually, Diet Pepsi is just huge. Do you think, do you think Regal, when they get that contract, they're like, ah, fuck, we got Pepsi.
Jay
I was thinking about that during the movie. Actually.
Ilya
That should be the slogan for Pepsi is Pepsi.
Jay
Okay. No, no, no, no. I actually disagree.
Ilya
You like Pepsi?
Jay
Yeah. As like, as I've. As a big Diet Coke drinker, I've needed to switch my ways and I have and I've been doing Pepsi Now I love Pepsi.
Ilya
Really.
Jay
And actually that's a selling point for me to go to Regal.
Ilya
Really? Anybody else think Pepsi is better than Coke?
Natalie
That I don't really have a preference between the two.
John
Really?
Jay
That Pepsi was incredible ass. I finished the whole large and I never finished my drinks.
Ilya
I got a medium. I could barely lift it.
Jay
You know what's amazing?
Ilya
That's why I had to pee.
Jay
You know what's amazing about seeing a movie the second time?
Ilya
What?
Jay
You could drink all you want, go to the bathroom as many times as you want.
Ilya
Yeah, that's nice.
Jay
It feels so good. But you guys were getting up. Fucking Natalie's sister got up like three times. And the weirdest fucking times, weirdest times, weirdest times, she check her phone. And when she checks her phone, she like holds it right to her face, like, doesn't even like try to hide.
John
Thank God I didn't see that.
Jay
Oh my God. It was infuriated. I was three seats away from her.
John
Oh.
Jay
And it was like stressing me out.
Ilya
You guys are such movie Nazis. That's so crazy.
Jay
She got up when the Hulk was battling Spider Man.
John
Crazy.
Jay
It's a movie.
Ilya
It can't bother you that much. You've already seen the movie. How could that bother you?
Natalie
But she should know, like, who? She's got to know her, like, audience. Like she's going with the biggest fucking Marvel people. And when this, when you're in the middle of a fight scene, to get up is like, that's crazy. It just like disrupts everybody's.
Jay
That. That was weird.
Natalie
Weird, but not out of character.
Jay
No, not out of character, but I was like, oh my God, I got it. And I totally see it from her point of view. She's green monsters battling a guy in fucking tight.
Ilya
Yeah. Like it's.
Jay
If you're a girl and you're like, don't care about this shit. You're like, this is exactly when I go, like, Zendaya's not on screen. I'm just gonna go, yeah, but like, to me, I'm like, you're fucking crazy. But what'd you think, Jay?
Ilya
I liked it. I thought it was really great. I like that it was like. It felt like a little smaller, a little more subtler than. Yeah, it's like the other films. I don't understand why it made more money than Endgame trying to figure that out.
Jay
I think it was just.
Natalie
I think it's the Toms and it's like the press around it and. Yeah, people just fucking love them.
Jay
No, I think nothing's bigger than Spider Man. I really think Spider Man's the biggest here is really.
John
I think that's it. Cuz all. You can't see any imax.
Jay
I think it's the IMAX theaters. It's like, it's like, you know, like in and out only has a couple options on the menu. Yeah, it's like that allows you to make a decision easier. Yeah, I think it's the same thing omitting the IMAX screens. It's such an easier decision to make when you're buying tickets because you're like, yeah, I'm gonna go at 3:30.
Ilya
But the studios must know that.
Jay
I think they're just. I think they may have just found out.
Ilya
Oh really?
Jay
I don't know.
Ilya
And what was that? Remember that thing in the group chat? You were like spider man in x40x. No, not 40x. You had something else where like the screen was like on the side on the left and right. What was that?
Jay
No, it's not 40x.
Ilya
No, you send it in the group chat. You're like, should we go see it in this? I don't know.
Jay
There's so many ways to watch movies. Not. Yes, you could do where this. It's basically a 270 degree screen around you.
Ilya
Okay.
Jay
Where you watch. But not all the scenes are like perfectly shot for that.
Ilya
Right.
Jay
And Spider Man's the first movie to be shot for that screen. But that doesn't mean all the, all the shots. Like sometimes they'll just put like color on the side of the screens, just if they don't have the filling for it. But also where we were, the theater we were at, you could sit in these seats called Magnify 8 or something. Something like that. And there it's three rows of seats that have like extra speakers in them and extra vibration.
Ilya
Oh, wow.
Jay
Which is really. It's not like 4D, but it's just like a little bit extra kick for you to feel. I think it's like a subwoofer in the seat.
Ilya
Wait, you know how you were excited about Thomas Crown Affair?
Jay
Yeah.
Ilya
So before you got to the movie last night, they showed the trailer. So I was like, damn, this looks sick.
Jay
Michael B. Jordan.
Ilya
Michael B. Jordan looks cool.
John
Yeah.
Ilya
I was like, damn, I'm gonna see this. I'm gonna see this shit. This looks good. But then at the. In the trailer, the very last moment of the trailer. Do you remember it? He like, he does like this most effeminate, like, jump off a cliff where
Jay
he's like, you gotta follow me.
Ilya
Yeah. He's like, follow me. And he like. It like, ruined the whole trailer. Like, wait a minute. This guy's not like, what? Oh, really? Like, why did they include that?
Jay
I think Michael B. Jordan. So cool.
Ilya
Yeah, he's cool. But that one moment was like the whole saga. Yeah.
Jay
What do you think about.
Natalie
I really liked it. I am curious why you think it's like the best.
Jay
Like, I think I noticed, like, emotionally it had like the most. It had like. No, it wasn't doing silly things like bringing in Spider Man's where it was like a cheap. It was like a well earned, like characters developing. Like, it was like they've earned it through all the movies where it was exciting to watch. Could they have done a little better maybe? But like, I just think that felt cool. And it wasn't like. And I actually prefer these kinds. I prefer like the no way homes. I prefer the Infinity Wars. I prefer the endgames where it's like all these characters and it feels like you're on a roller coaster ride. I prefer that. But this was just like a nice change of pace of like some emotion in it.
John
Spider Man 2 with Toby Maguire, I mean, that kind of had the same vibe.
Jay
I mean, I love all of the Toby's. Even Spider Man 3.
Natalie
I don't know, I wish they just leaned into more of like the emotional. I know that, like, that's probably gonna come more so, like, as it continues. But I was like on the brink of a tear.
Jay
I cried throughout the entire thing. The entire thing.
Ilya
How many more Spider man do you think you'll make with Tom Holland?
Natalie
I mean.
Jay
Well, I think they'll probably do it till he dies.
Natalie
Yeah, they're gonna crank.
Ilya
So you think he'll be 2045 making Spider Man?
Jay
I don't know. He's already been doing it for so long. Did you see that Tom Holland clip of, like, where he manifested everything in his life?
Ilya
No.
Jay
It's so funny. They're like, who's your celebrity crush? And he's like, zendaya. And then it's an edit of him marrying Zendaya. And then it's like. And then someone asked him, like, would you ever play Spider Man? He's like, yeah, maybe in like, five years. That'd be really cool. He's like fucking 12 in it. Then he's Spider Man. And then someone's like, what's your favorite video game? And he's like, well, I love Uncharted. And then he's the fucking lead of the Uncharted movie. Like, he manifested everything in his life.
Ilya
Wow.
Jay
It's really funny.
Natalie
That's really cool.
Ilya
Did you see the trailer for Dune, dude?
John
Well, that's.
Jay
What's so crazy is that fucking Zendaya had what, the drama release earlier with Robert Pattinson earlier this year?
Ilya
Yeah.
Jay
Then she had the Odyssey.
Ilya
Yeah.
Jay
Then she had Spider man, and now she is Dune at the end of the year.
Ilya
There's only like seven actors, though, and all these movies.
Jay
Yeah, it's the same seven. Yeah, it's Robert Pattinson in Dune, Timothy Chalamet, something else. Zendaya, Tom Holland, John Berenthal. It's like the same. Same. Same young cast that's being thrown around.
Ilya
I guess that makes sense. But. But the Dune movie, when I saw the trailer, nothing against it, I was like, I've never seen this. I have no interest in watching it. Is it good? Is that, like, fun?
Jay
Yeah, dudes, fun. I'm not the biggest dude guy.
Ilya
Right.
John
But seen the trailer for the Odyssey one. That version is the coolest. That opening scene.
Jay
Oh, yeah, that's really.
Ilya
I guess I did see it at the Odyssey. Yes. That's the coolest monster comes out.
Jay
Dune 2 made me like Dune 1 a lot more. So, yeah, like, I'm almost there, but I always. I have the worst memory, so I already don't know what happened.
Ilya
I do like Chalamet, so maybe I would like it.
Jay
Love Charlemagne. Yeah, but. All right, guys, listen, that's all the time we have for today's pod. Thank you guys for listening. Joining us and we will see you guys for the next Views podcast. Bye, guys.
