No, no one knows here. It's really interesting. Jul. Julia, who's dating John, John, who's my best friend from my hometown, was almost. Well, actually, let me not, let me, let me start, let me backtrack. Okay, this is how it started. We told John and I started a group chat with Ilya, Jon and Alex and we're like, hey guys, boys night tomorrow, okay, let's go get a couple beers and let's like have a good time. And Ilya and John kept asking in the group chat. John's like, ill, why don't you bring Emma? And Ilya's like, well, because I want to have a fucking fun night with the boys. Like, this is, it's boys night. And John said that two times. And I knew where John was going with this. John was trying to insinuate that he wants to bring Julia, but Ilya made it very clear that Emma's not coming. It's boys night. And not only that, then Ilya texted us that morning and was like, hey, so something, something's come up. I have to hang out with Emma. And we were like, well, let's go around this. Like, why don't you hang out with Emma first and then you do boys night later. So, so Ilya was like, okay, I'm hanging out with Emma from 6:30 to 10:30. And then you guys had me for the rest of the night for boys night. And then we go. And then, and then we're going to this party. That's where we're all meeting up. The roommates and I are going to the party, and then Ilya's gonna meet us there with his own car. Ilya FaceTimes in the car. Actually, let me backtrack just one more second. We're going, we all meet downstairs and Julia comes down and so now Alex and I. Alex, what are you thinking? Well, no, first I was like doing something in the kitchen and I see Julia in a dress. I'm like, oh, you're coming? I thought it was boys night. But like, in a. Like whatever. In like a nice way.

There's no nice way to say that. Okay, yeah, yeah, that's the wrong thing to get. Alex, you should have fucking. Yeah, you should have turned around and looked in the fridge.

No, in the moment, I meant nothing by it. And then later I was like, oh

my God, what else did you take? When a girl walks in and you go, is that what you're wearing?

And you don't mean anything by it?

It's like, oh, it's like that. So, okay, so then. And then also Julia texted me like an hour before and she's like, she's like, hey, is it possible to add me and my friend Hannah to the list? And obviously I'm like, okay. But in the back of my head I'm like, john didn't fucking tell her it's boys night. And like, I'm not gonna break the news to her. Cause that's not my responsibility. And I feel really fucking weird about it. So then we're on our way to the party and Ilya, FaceTimes, he's like, who you guys with? And I'm like, uh, oh, here it goes. He's not gonna come anymore. And I'm like. Cause he was set on boys night. And he told Emma to kick rocks. Basically just cause we're having this special night, us boys, which really never happens. And then I' I'm with John, Julia and Alex, and he's like, oh, okay. And then he meets us there at the party and he comes right up to me and he goes, what the fuck is going on? He goes, is this boys night or is this not boys night? And now we're being very weird around Julia and her girlfriend. We're like, in our own little area. Cause Ilya is chewing out John. Ilya's like, you fucking moron. Like, I had to tell my girlfriend to stay home because it's boys night now. This makes me look stupid that Julia's here. And also it's boys night. Like, I want to just hang out with the boys. Like, we love Julia, so let's put that out there.

Allegedly. Allegedly.

Allegedly. Everyone does. So, like, we have no problem with Julia. But when you. When the boys are hanging out, it's very different.

I mean, this is when all the girls are hanging out, whatever. And then, and then we get to the car. Cause we're leaving, we're leaving. We don't know what to do. So Alex and I and Ilya go to the car ahead of John, Julia and her girlfriend Hannah. Cause they're talking to some people at the party. So we were like, let's go brief in the car and figure out what happens. All of a sudden, Julia comes up to the window while me, Alex and Ilya are in the car in the Rolls Royce. The lighting's amazing, so I could see everything clearly. And Julia goes, fuck you guys. Fuck you guys. Fuck you, Ilya, and fuck you, David. And we're like, what? And Ilya and I are so. Because we've been awkward already, and this was so awkward, we just started sinking into our seat, right? We're like, what the fuck? What's going on? What's going on? And Julia's really pissed. I mean, Julia, go ahead.

Yeah, I was pissed.

Like, really pissed.

[Julia]

And I'm usually so chill.

Okay.

I'm like 90% chill.

First of all, John never communicated with her that it's boys night. Strike one. And then at the party, John texts Julia and goes, hey, it's boys night. Can you walk around somewhere else? Oh, my God. Okay, so that's Julia into fucking rage.

And I'm trying.

Not only that, but then we were pissed because we were like, john, you fucking snitching bitch. Like, you went to Julia and you told her that we're like, frustrated because it's boys night. So it was John. And I told John I was like, a friend to everyone, is a friend to no one. And you just played all sides and you just fucked everything. Yeah. So, okay. God. Julia, your turn. You can talk to. You can talk to now. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

That's not how that works. When you're in a relationship with somebody, John, you can't just tell him to kick rocks in the corner. If it is 50,000 square feet.

That's crazy. John thought the party was so big.

Go hang out by the mini golf course.

Yeah, John thought the house was so big that he can just have both of the nights at the same time. He can have boys night by the pool, and then in the kitchen, he'll have girls night.

Yeah, yeah. Like, I just, you know, it's a big place. It's not like I'm not telling you. Go somewhere in that corner. No, you literally can't see them, Honestly, the entire night, if you wanted to.

Okay, so then that happened. I already knew vibes were off. We get in the car, it's awkward as fuck. It's so silent. Like, no one's really talking to each other. And so I was trying to, like, make jokes. Like, oh, we all hate each other or something. Like, what's going on? And then we were talking about how weird and silent it was in the car.

[Jay]

Yeah. First I brought up, I was like, the Rolls Royce is, like, really quiet. Like, it's like. It kind of. It's almost one of those rooms where you can, like, hear your blood. And people say, like, if you're in it for too long, you'll go insane.

[Ilya]

Yeah.

[Jay]

And then Julia goes, yeah, yeah, that's right. Okay. I thought we just all, like, hated each other today or something. And then we were all kind of, like, silent, like. No, no, no, it's not that. It's the silence of the Rolls Royce. You obviously, like, mentioned that for a Reason. Did you read that? Cause I didn't read that for sure.

[John]

Yeah, yeah.

That's why it was so awkward. Yeah. Wow. Oh, well, dude, you gotta fix that, because we don't know. No, I wasn't gonna. Because it was not my fight to fucking. I'm not gonna fight with somebody's girlfriend.

Just drop boys night. Be like, hey, we'll do it another night.

Because Ilya wasn't going to come out if, if, if it wasn't like a boys night. Like, it. We don't have boys nights. We don't ever have boys nights. Right. To get Ilya to come out is very rare.

So him coming out. I was already on the FaceTime. I was. I wanted to hang up right away, just. So he just meet us at the house and I'll deal with it there.

Because I know this. I mean, just like, it happened at the house. The second he got there, he was like, why the fuck did you tell me to come out? Right Not. And he already told his girlfriend to leave, so I couldn't just drop it because this was going to be a problem once we got to the house. So I was like, trying to think of how this is gonna unfold. Okay. And then at the house.

Yeah. So then we get to the house and then they're acting very strange the second we walk in, where I feel like, oh, I should maybe go home. Like, this is really weird. Like, they're kind of like, with each other. Like, I'm literally standing behind John the whole time. I'm like, God, I hope my friend gets here. And then I was worried, oh, my God, when she gets here, how are they gonna act with her? So. And then she finally gets there. They are, like, nowhere to be found, right? Like, I don't even know where they went. And then my friend, like, we finally, like, go have to walk around and find them 50,000 square feet. And then Dave doesn't even look at her and walks by her. And I was like, oh, my God. And then, thank God you saved yourself by turning around and was like, oh, hey, Hannah. Alex was also Being weird as hell. Like, you were staring at us, but you didn't even come up and say hi.

I did, I did.

[Julia]

No, you were staring at us for so long. And then after, he were probably talking to people. Anyways, that was, like, weird vibes for me. And then finally we get upstairs and my friend Hannah is like, hey, like, I can go home. And I was like, no. Like, it's, like, it's fine. Like, they're just being, like, weird. I don't know. And then at that point, I'm like, oh, my God, she knows. So I feel even worse, right? And then John texts me, hey, we're having a boys night. Can you guys go around somewhere else? And so then I'm like, distraught. Like, I'm so, like, oh, my God, this is the most, like, fucked up situation I could ever be in.

John, that's crazy, by the way.

It's so crazy to say, hey, look, guys, just talk.

I'm taking Blake on all sides because meanwhile, when. And then Julia, you ended up coming up to the Rolls Royce.

And bitching us out.

And. And while Julia is yelling at us, like, because Alex was sitting in the back, so she'd take turns yelling at the front seat and the back. And the second she'd go yell at Alex, Ilya would look right at John and go, I'm gonna fucking murder you. Cause, like, it was a crazy. Like, that was. That was also. That was also crazy. That, like, that conversation that we were having, us guys got over to Julia. No offense, like, but you know what I mean? Like, if that happened the other way, you'd feel betrayed. Like, it was just. It was very. You played all sides and it was fucking crazy. And Julia, I've never seen you that upset.

You were almost on the brink of tears.

I cried. I got so. And then they ordered me an Uber home and I cried in the Uber. And the Uber driver was like, is everything okay? And I was like, yeah, my boyfriend's just an asshole.

All right, not to change gears here quickly, but guys, I have seen Spider Man. I know it's been my long awaited review. I've been wanting to give it. I went to go see it two times now. I went to go see it with Jason and Natalie and everybody. What did you guys think first?

[Natalie]

I mean, I love the Spider Man.

[Jay]

Yeah, spoiler free.

It's. First of all, Spider man is doing the best. It's beating Endgame and how well it's doing. Really fucking crazy.

[Ilya]

Really.

[Jay]

Opening day did better than Endgame and I think that's because they don't have IMAX screens. I have this whole theory in the fact that they didn't go to like even for me it was easier to buy tickets and I thought about it less because they didn't have IMAX screens.

[Ilya]

Yeah.

[Jay]

Sometimes movies only have IMAX screens and they sell out and then I'll be like, well I'm not buying a ticket right now. So I kind of just like postpone it cuz I want to only see an imax.

[Ilya]

Got it.

[Jay]

But this time there was no option to see it. So every movie time, there's like 40 show times a day at every theater.

[Ilya]

Yeah.

[Jay]

That where you can go see this fucking movie. So it's really easy to buy a ticket and I think that's why so many people bought. And now they're doing even a smarter thing where now they're releasing an IMAX in a week.

[Ilya]

Okay.

[Jay]

So everybody that's already seen it.

[Natalie]

Yeah.

[Jay]

Is going to, going to go back. They're gonna make so much fucking money. It's actually absurd. Okay. I think it's the best. I don't know if this is our take actually. I think it may be the best Spider man that we've ever had.

[Ilya]

Why, why do you say that?

[Jay]

Just as a character or this movie.

[Jay]

I think I like if I put nostalgia aside, I think Tom is just like.

[Natalie]

Yeah.

[Jay]

If all three of them were to come out at the same time and I didn't have like this crazy affinity towards Toby Maguire, like Tom Holland would be the clear winner. Tom Holland is fucking Spider Man. Like he's all sides of it, right. He's cool, he's nerdy, he's, he's, he fits the build.

[Ilya]

Yeah.

[Jay]

He's cute and he's charming and he's, he's smart. Yeah. He's all.

[Ilya]

He looks youthful.

[Jay]

Yeah. And he, and he looks. And he actually could do the things that Spider man does. He can actually like move. Like it's just like.

[Ilya]

Yeah.

He is the best Spider Man.

[Ilya]

Yeah.

But if someone was to ask me like what Spider man movie should we put on? I would never say this one.

[Ilya]

Like if it's a one off, do you know? I mean. Cuz like this wasn't like the most action packed, right? This is the Spider man where he fights the biggest villain, Green Goblin. Or like Doc Ock. Or like, I'd say like go watch no Way Home or go watch one of the original Spider Mans. But if you've seen all the Spider man movies and you're just a fan of Marvel, I think this is the best movie that's come out. I don't know. How do you take it, Jay? As an old guy who walked out at some important parts to use the bathroom.

[Ilya]

The Regal Cinemas, the medium. Coke is just like Diet Pepsi. Actually, Diet Pepsi is just huge. Do you think, do you think Regal, when they get that contract, they're like, ah, fuck, we got Pepsi.

[Jay]

I was thinking about that during the movie. Actually.

[Ilya]

That should be the slogan for Pepsi is Pepsi.

You know what's amazing about seeing a movie the second time?

It feels so good. But you guys were getting up. Fucking Natalie's sister got up like three times. And the weirdest fucking times, weirdest times, weirdest times, she check her phone. And when she checks her phone, she like holds it right to her face, like, doesn't even like try to hide.

Thank God I didn't see that.

Oh my God. It was infuriated. I was three seats away from her.

And it was like stressing me out.

You guys are such movie Nazis. That's so crazy.

She got up when the Hulk was battling Spider Man.

It's a movie.

It can't bother you that much. You've already seen the movie. How could that bother you?

[Natalie]

But she should know, like, who? She's got to know her, like, audience. Like she's going with the biggest fucking Marvel people. And when this, when you're in the middle of a fight scene, to get up is like, that's crazy. It just like disrupts everybody's.

[Jay]

That. That was weird.

[Natalie]

Weird, but not out of character.

[Jay]

No, not out of character, but I was like, oh my God, I got it. And I totally see it from her point of view. She's green monsters battling a guy in fucking tight.

[Ilya]

Yeah. Like it's.

[Jay]

If you're a girl and you're like, don't care about this shit. You're like, this is exactly when I go, like, Zendaya's not on screen. I'm just gonna go, yeah, but like, to me, I'm like, you're fucking crazy. But what'd you think, Jay?

[Ilya]

I liked it. I thought it was really great. I like that it was like. It felt like a little smaller, a little more subtler than. Yeah, it's like the other films. I don't understand why it made more money than Endgame trying to figure that out.

[Jay]

I think it was just.

[Natalie]

I think it's the Toms and it's like the press around it and. Yeah, people just fucking love them.

[Jay]

No, I think nothing's bigger than Spider Man. I really think Spider Man's the biggest here is really.

I think that's it. Cuz all. You can't see any imax.

I think it's the IMAX theaters. It's like, it's like, you know, like in and out only has a couple options on the menu. Yeah, it's like that allows you to make a decision easier. Yeah, I think it's the same thing omitting the IMAX screens. It's such an easier decision to make when you're buying tickets because you're like, yeah, I'm gonna go at 3:30.

But the studios must know that.

I think they're just. I think they may have just found out.

And what was that? Remember that thing in the group chat? You were like spider man in x40x. No, not 40x. You had something else where like the screen was like on the side on the left and right. What was that?

There's so many ways to watch movies. Not. Yes, you could do where this. It's basically a 270 degree screen around you.

Where you watch. But not all the scenes are like perfectly shot for that.

[Ilya]

Right.

And Spider Man's the first movie to be shot for that screen. But that doesn't mean all the, all the shots. Like sometimes they'll just put like color on the side of the screens, just if they don't have the filling for it. But also where we were, the theater we were at, you could sit in these seats called Magnify 8 or something. Something like that. And there it's three rows of seats that have like extra speakers in them and extra vibration.

[Ilya]

Oh, wow.

[Jay]

Which is really. It's not like 4D, but it's just like a little bit extra kick for you to feel. I think it's like a subwoofer in the seat.

[Ilya]

Wait, you know how you were excited about Thomas Crown Affair?

[Jay]

Yeah.

So before you got to the movie last night, they showed the trailer. So I was like, damn, this looks sick.

[Jay]

Michael B. Jordan.

[Ilya]

Michael B. Jordan looks cool.

I was like, damn, I'm gonna see this. I'm gonna see this shit. This looks good. But then at the. In the trailer, the very last moment of the trailer. Do you remember it? He like, he does like this most effeminate, like, jump off a cliff where

[Jay]

he's like, you gotta follow me.

[Ilya]

Yeah. He's like, follow me. And he like. It like, ruined the whole trailer. Like, wait a minute. This guy's not like, what? Oh, really? Like, why did they include that?

[Jay]

I think Michael B. Jordan. So cool.

[Ilya]

Yeah, he's cool. But that one moment was like the whole saga. Yeah.

[Jay]

What do you think about.

[Natalie]

I really liked it. I am curious why you think it's like the best.

[Jay]

Like, I think I noticed, like, emotionally it had like the most. It had like. No, it wasn't doing silly things like bringing in Spider Man's where it was like a cheap. It was like a well earned, like characters developing. Like, it was like they've earned it through all the movies where it was exciting to watch. Could they have done a little better maybe? But like, I just think that felt cool. And it wasn't like. And I actually prefer these kinds. I prefer like the no way homes. I prefer the Infinity Wars. I prefer the endgames where it's like all these characters and it feels like you're on a roller coaster ride. I prefer that. But this was just like a nice change of pace of like some emotion in it.

[John]

Spider Man 2 with Toby Maguire, I mean, that kind of had the same vibe.

[Jay]

I mean, I love all of the Toby's. Even Spider Man 3.

[Natalie]

I don't know, I wish they just leaned into more of like the emotional. I know that, like, that's probably gonna come more so, like, as it continues. But I was like on the brink of a tear.

[Jay]

I cried throughout the entire thing. The entire thing.

[Ilya]

How many more Spider man do you think you'll make with Tom Holland?

[Natalie]

I mean.

[Jay]

Well, I think they'll probably do it till he dies.

[Natalie]

Yeah, they're gonna crank.

[Ilya]

So you think he'll be 2045 making Spider Man?

[Jay]

I don't know. He's already been doing it for so long. Did you see that Tom Holland clip of, like, where he manifested everything in his life?

[Ilya]

It's so funny. They're like, who's your celebrity crush? And he's like, zendaya. And then it's an edit of him marrying Zendaya. And then it's like. And then someone asked him, like, would you ever play Spider Man? He's like, yeah, maybe in like, five years. That'd be really cool. He's like fucking 12 in it. Then he's Spider Man. And then someone's like, what's your favorite video game? And he's like, well, I love Uncharted. And then he's the fucking lead of the Uncharted movie. Like, he manifested everything in his life.

Then she had the Odyssey.

Then she had Spider man, and now she is Dune at the end of the year.

[Ilya]

There's only like seven actors, though, and all these movies.

[Jay]

Yeah, it's the same seven. Yeah, it's Robert Pattinson in Dune, Timothy Chalamet, something else. Zendaya, Tom Holland, John Berenthal. It's like the same. Same. Same young cast that's being thrown around.

[Ilya]

I guess that makes sense. But. But the Dune movie, when I saw the trailer, nothing against it, I was like, I've never seen this. I have no interest in watching it. Is it good? Is that, like, fun?

[Jay]

Yeah, dudes, fun. I'm not the biggest dude guy.

[Ilya]

Right.

But seen the trailer for the Odyssey one. That version is the coolest. That opening scene.

[Jay]

Oh, yeah, that's really.

I guess I did see it at the Odyssey. Yes. That's the coolest monster comes out.

Dune 2 made me like Dune 1 a lot more. So, yeah, like, I'm almost there, but I always. I have the worst memory, so I already don't know what happened.

I do like Chalamet, so maybe I would like it.
