Think there's different ways to approach this, but to pick one, let's call it trend. So I think a key piece to this outside of the tactics like chunking or query fan out or whatever you want to call them in creating an LLM bait, so to speak. If you have original data, maybe some proprietary insights, expertise in the field and using that as the key background to content, your key pillars behind content that you're producing, I think that's a long term trend. On the other hand, on the flip side, I think if you're just mass producing consensus content just to play catch up or if you're approaching SEO as a hey, let's just take the best competitive strategies and replicate. I think that's going to be something that's trash.

Voices of Search Podcast - Episode Summary
Title: Is Optimizing Content Specifically for AI Summarization a Legitimate Strategy?
Release Date: June 28, 2025
Host: Tyson Stockton
Guest: Tyler Einberger
In this episode of the Voices of Search podcast, host Tyson Stockton engages in a compelling discussion with guest Tyler Einberger on the emerging strategy of optimizing content specifically for AI summarization. The conversation delves into whether this approach is a legitimate tactic within the realms of SEO and content marketing or if it is fundamentally misguided.
Tyler Einberger opens the discussion by posing a critical question to the SEO community: "Is optimizing content specifically for AI summarization a legitimate strategy, or is it misguided?" This question sets the stage for a deep dive into the evolving landscape of content creation in the age of artificial intelligence.
At [02:13], Tyler shares insightful perspectives on the trend of optimizing content for AI summarization:
Tyler Einberger: "I think there's different ways to approach this, but to pick one, let's call it trend. So I think a key piece to this outside of the tactics like chunking or query fan out or whatever you want to call them in creating an LLM bait, so to speak. If you have original data, maybe some proprietary insights, expertise in the field and using that as the key background to content, your key pillars behind content that you're producing, I think that's a long term trend."
Here, Tyler emphasizes the importance of creating content that leverages original data and proprietary insights. By anchoring content in expertise and unique perspectives, marketers can ensure that their material remains valuable and relevant, even as AI systems evolve.
Continuing his analysis, Tyler contrasts sustainable strategies with those he views as ineffective:
Tyler Einberger: "On the other hand, I think if you're just mass producing consensus content just to play catch up or if you're approaching SEO as a hey, let's just take the best competitive strategies and replicate. I think that's going to be something that's trash."
This statement underscores Tyler's skepticism towards strategies that rely on replicating competitors' approaches or flooding the market with generic content. He argues that such methods are short-sighted and ultimately detrimental to long-term SEO success.
Originality is Crucial: Tyler advocates for content that stands out through originality and depth. By incorporating proprietary data and expert insights, content creators can produce material that is not only AI-friendly but also genuinely valuable to human readers.
Avoiding Mass Production: The guest cautions against the temptation to produce large volumes of similar content solely for the sake of SEO gains. Quality should always trump quantity to maintain authority and trustworthiness in the eyes of both AI algorithms and users.
Long-Term Viability: Strategies that focus on true expertise and unique content pillars are positioned as sustainable and effective in the long run, ensuring that content remains relevant amidst the rapid advancements in AI summarization technologies.
As the episode wraps up, Tyson Stockton thanks Tyler Einberger for his valuable insights and encourages listeners to connect with Tyler via his LinkedIn profile or visit his company's website at momenticmarketing.com. Additionally, listeners interested in local SEO and digital marketing events are invited to check out Milwaukee's Digital Marketing Club for upcoming meetups.
