My name is Tyson and joining me today is Chris Antinsky, SVP of Creative and Co Founder at Fractal. Do you see the review platforms keeping like kind of the their space in the market and it continuing to be like an important factor? Or do you see that kind of third party piece is maybe not being as relevant in the future? Like how do you see the review?

I actually think they become much more useful than they currently are. And it's, it's for that same reason that it's, it's about understanding not just like what a brand is good at, but what they don't do or what they can't do or who they don't serve. So instead of like a really rough generic 3 out of 5 stars, you understand. Instead it's 5 out of 5 for this part of the consumer base and 1 out of 5 for this other part.

Time for a 1 minute break to hear from our sponsor, Pre Visible. So you're looking for SEO help and you got a couple of options. You could start replying to spam from agencies that claim they can get you to rank number one on Google. You can pay an hourly rate for a consultant who will inevitably nickel and dime you with hourly charges. Or you can work with a cookie cutter agency to quickly launch a strategy less project with low success rate. None of those sound very good now do they? Well, that's where Pre Visible's integrated consulting model comes in. Pre Visible draws From a collective 40 years of SEO and digital marketing experience to unlock your organic growth opportunities. They build custom solutions that combine strategy, technical expertise, content and reporting to effectively operationalize SEO for your business. Pre Physical's four stage approach ensures that your SEO programs thrive by starting off with a strategy first approach. Then they support you in your efforts to create quality content, help you identify technical issues, and most importantly, they'll work with your cross functional teams to integrate your SEO strategies to make sure that your SEO budget actually drives results, not just your agency's bottom line. So join brands like Yelp, eBay, Canva, Atlassian Square, all who rely on the SEO consultants at Pre Visible. For more information go to Previsible IO that's Pre Visible. P R E V I S I B L E I O

so everyone that got stuck in the three out of five middle because they were great for some and horrible for others now can be the five star thing that they were always meant to be because they're serving their real audience. So I think, yeah, reviews become much more important with the caveat that they need to be trusted. So like this again becomes I think maybe a decision of the model creators where they're deciding what they use in their training sets, or maybe even AIs that are deciding whether or not to include things in their initial training sets or developed over time the heuristics of a model to understand whether or not something is trustworthy or not. So that that could go much deeper. But in general, I think it'll be about deciding what review sites should be included in the initial training sets that create the models.

So with that, thanks for stopping by and we'll see you in the next episod.
Voices of Search – “Should review platforms be worried about their long-term relevance?”
Host: Tyson Stockton
Guest: Chris Antinsky, SVP of Creative and Co-Founder at Fractal
Date: March 26, 2026
This episode explores the future and relevance of review platforms in an evolving digital landscape. Host Tyson Stockton and guest Chris Antinsky discuss how consumer expectations and advancements in AI may change the role of review aggregators, considering the trustworthiness and specificity of reviews and how these could affect their long-term utility and SEO impact.
“Do you see the review platforms keeping their space in the market... or do you see that third-party piece not being as relevant in the future?”
“Instead of like a really rough generic 3 out of 5 stars, you understand... it's 5 out of 5 for this part of the consumer base and 1 out of 5 for this other part.”
“Everyone that got stuck in the three out of five middle because they were great for some and horrible for others now can be the five-star thing that they were always meant to be because they're serving their real audience.”
“With the caveat that they need to be trusted... maybe a decision of the model creators where they're deciding what they use in their training sets... or developed over time the heuristics of a model to understand whether or not something is trustworthy or not.”
On the Evolution of Reviews:
“Instead of like a really rough generic 3 out of 5 stars, you understand... it's 5 out of 5 for this part of the consumer base and 1 out of 5 for this other part.”
On Brands Finding Their True Audience:
“Everyone that got stuck in the three out of five middle because they were great for some and horrible for others now can be the five-star thing that they were always meant to be because they're serving their real audience.”
On Data Trust and AI:
“...it'll be about deciding what review sites should be included in the initial training sets that create the models.”
The conversation is forward-looking, pragmatic, and analytical. Chris Antinsky is optimistic about the future role of review platforms—provided they adapt—and emphasizes the technical and ethical responsibilities facing those training AI models.
