John 15:1-2, 5 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinegrower. He removes every branch in me that bears no fruit. Every branch that bears fruit he prunes to make it bear more fruit. I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.” This episode teaches that Jesus is the True Vine, and we are the branches that need to stay connected to Him to grow and bear fruit. Sometimes God removes things from our lives or prunes us, which can be painful, but it is always for our good. The key is to remain close to Jesus, because apart from Him, we cannot truly thrive.
