One of my ongoing efforts is to expose the reality of child abuse in conservative rural areas. Let’s call it for what it is. I know that I experienced things growing up that people simply can’t believe are true. It’s been validating to have conversations with Liz Pfeiffer who is currently teaching in a conservative area that’s not much different than where I grew up.

If you want to know how white supremacy conditioning takes root in our society, Liz and I know. We were joined by Deidre Keller who also has experience living and teaching in a rural area. Her brilliant and compassionate perspective always inspires me.

Liz wrote this story about how one of her students is always exhausted and bruised because of cage fighting:

Simply put, we have to protect our children. We have to ensure kids have the opportunity to learn and that the love they receive shouldn’t be conditional on how much pain they can take.

This isn’t optional. We have to take this on.
