Hey Everybody!

It’s always my great delight to join Dana and Lawrence on the Daily Whatever! Today we had the honor of being joined by Emily Berge. She’s running for Congress in my district and I think she’s both a wonderful candidate and a wonderful human being.

I’ve been interviewing a lot of candidates, and I keep hearing that grassroots candidates are being pressured by DC Democrats to not participate in primaries. To me, that is a losing strategy. Primaries are healthy! Primaries allow multiple candidates to canvas a district and educate the voters on the challenges we face as a nation. It allows good candidates to generate name recognition and run for other offices.

We shouldn’t pick our candidates based on who brings in more out-of-state money. Our districts need to represent WE THE PEOPLE!
