That is a good way to start the podcast. Thank you.
Giannina Gibelli
No, literally goals. Literally goals. I'm so happy to have you guys here, but I just want to catch up. What is new? What's up? That is stunning.
Trixie Mattel
I did show they dean my engagement. Right. Sorry. I have some.
Giannina Gibelli
My sunglasses. My sunglasses.
Trixie Mattel
Anyone?
Giannina Gibelli
Girl.
Trixie Mattel
Yes. Ding, ding.
Giannina Gibelli
Move this out of the.
Trixie Mattel
She's cute. Do you want to try it on here?
Giannina Gibelli
No, no, no.
Trixie Mattel
Come here, Andy.
Giannina Gibelli
Oh, I'm shaking. That's too heavy. Goldie.
Trixie Mattel
So you love her.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
What I've gathered. Congratulations. Wait, so when did you ask? When actually. Timeout. Take me to the beginning.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Very beginning.
Giannina Gibelli
Take me to the beginning.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
Catch me up.
Trixie Mattel
So after I. I was stood up at the altar on Love is Blind.
Giannina Gibelli
Been there.
Trixie Mattel
Uh huh. Yes. You're, I think, like one of the only girlies that really understands what that feels like. Oh, yes. Which is such a blessing in disguise. Huge blessing. And it's such a. Like we dodge.
Giannina Gibelli
Cause look at us. Look at us.
Trixie Mattel
The post, like alter glow up.
Giannina Gibelli
Okay.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
And it happens almost immediately.
Trixie Mattel
Really?
Giannina Gibelli
It's like you think we're gonna be down bad and we're not.
Trixie Mattel
Well, I dated him for two years.
Giannina Gibelli
But anyway, you were bad. You were in something. Yeah. You were in something.
Trixie Mattel
I was in that. And then he had his own little experience, which he'll tell you about. But then I was just traveling the world and got a call while I was in like the hills of Colombia being like, do you want to do this reality show? And I was like, okay, sure. Like, I don't really know what this is about, but it was super fun. Something that didn't involve my heart. Like, I was in such a good place where I didn't even want a relationship.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
And that's when.
Giannina Gibelli
That's when it happened.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Amen.
Trixie Mattel
And then, like, I walked out on the beach and I see him in his little, like, flowery blue shirt and I'm like, why do you look so familiar? He's like, I'm from the Bachelorette. Yeah. Like, big Blake smile. And that was it.
Giannina Gibelli
That big Blake smile. I love that. You need to like, trademark that.
Trixie Mattel
I love that. Colgate. What's up?
Katya Zamolodchikova
I never get sick of hearing that story. I'll tell you what. Yeah. Cause I mean, I was in a similar situation. I came off getting dumped. Not at the altar, but, you know, during the proposal.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
And I was also like, not really. You know, I came, then I went on to paradise. Didn't have a great time and it didn't work out. And same thing. I was like, I don't want to do any more reality TV unless it's a challenge.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
So I got the call from the All Stars shore and then I remember freaking out in the hotel and because a lot of the. It was a big personalities from people all over the world and I was like, what am I getting myself into? Like, I'm like, bunch of crazies in here. Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
I'm boring.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I'm a boring ABC guy, you know, I mean, I'm not this, like crazy.
Trixie Mattel
We were furniture.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I walked down and. Yeah, well, I was down there already. And she came. No, you were down there. That's right. You were down there. And I was like. I remember seeing her being like, she's cute. Like, thank God she's cute. Somebody that I can, you know, maybe flirt with a little. And then by the. Yeah. Or second day, it was like over, so.
Trixie Mattel
And then the producers were like. Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Mad at us.
Giannina Gibelli
They're like, you guys, this is not.
Trixie Mattel
This.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Get away from each other. Don't throw a drink on someone. Yeah. It was like that kind of show, but. And here we are, over three years later.
Trixie Mattel
Over three years later, engaged with a ten month old boy.
Giannina Gibelli
Literal goals. Literal goals. Okay, tell me about the engagement. Did you know this is my. Yeah. This is where you take.
Trixie Mattel
No idea.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah, I did my best too. I tried so hard to say.
Trixie Mattel
I did.
Katya Zamolodchikova
On that. You were kind of surprised, right? Yes. I mean, she knew it was coming.
Trixie Mattel
Obviously, because he asked me randomly, like two years ago. He goes, what kind of ring do you want?
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I was like, ready?
Trixie Mattel
Yes. I literally hyperventilated and I was like, what?
Giannina Gibelli
What do you mean? Yeah, because at this point you're only, what, like a year in. Barely about a year and a half. Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
Before I got pregnant, you asked me what kind of ring I wanted and.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Size and all of that kind of stuff.
Giannina Gibelli
So you knew.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah, I did. And then obviously, you know, we got pregnant and then had a baby. And so it was just like, you know what? Let's. We're on our own schedule.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah. I wanted just to take one thing at a time. And I didn't know how I was going to feel during my pregnancy. You know, you hear all these like, horror stories about like, ah, it was the worst time ever. And I'll never want. I loved it. Like, I want to have like an entire basketball team.
Giannina Gibelli
Oh, my God.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Time out.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah. Like just starting five or the whole squad starting five.
Katya Zamolodchikova
That's easy.
Giannina Gibelli
Easy.
Trixie Mattel
Easy. To be clear. And I mean, at the. You know, in hindsight I would have been. I should have been like, you know, just do it whenever you want. But I wanted to feel like me also. Like, nothing has ever been the way that I pictured it, which has been way better than what's actually happened. But for the proposal, I was like, listen, I had this one experience and I just want to be able to feel like how I've always pictured.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
I felt and and he did a beautiful job at making all my dreams come true.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah. And I think that's like what people kind of forget is like, I've picked out a ring before, you know, on national television. You, you know, you've been in a wedding dress on television. So it was like we wanted it instead of like, you know, feeling more or less rushed or like doing it not the way we imagined. So we kind of just took our time and I planned it. I knew she wanted to get engaged overseas. And so of course. Of course I was gonna say if you've ever met G, you know that.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
So, yeah, I kind of like was in cahoots with her family, texting them.
Trixie Mattel
In Madrid, which I wasn't expecting texts.
Katya Zamolodchikova
We were in Madrid.
Trixie Mattel
I knew it was gonna be after I gave birth. And we travel a lot, we just. We're always on the move. And I was like, okay, it's gonna be in one of these fun spots. Just. Cause he's a hopeless romantic and I know that he would wanna do something like that. And it never happened. It never happened. It didn't happen. And I kept doing my nails. Like the French manicure, the symphony, the bridal.
Giannina Gibelli
No Shocking pink. No. Bright red. Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
Just to be ready. Exactly. For like six months. And you know, I was starting to just be like, listen, when it happens, it happens. And in Madrid, I've been there, my family lives there. So it's something that's. It's a place that's very close to my heart, but we don't have any connections there. And I know that he knows what I like and all that stuff. So I was like, it's probably not gonna be there just because, like, how. How is he going to. How's he going to pull it off? Yeah, he was texting my family behind my back.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Like, and there's a language barrier there, so there's a lot of like Google Translate going on.
Trixie Mattel
You were wonderful. It worked out fantastic.
Katya Zamolodchikova
This beautiful park, what is it called? Right.
Trixie Mattel
Parque del Retiro. So it's like the Central park of Madrid, essentially. Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
So we found this beautiful spot and it was really cool to be able to have Heath there. That was my favorite that we'll be able to go back to, you know? Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
And congratulations, you guys.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah. And the ring.
Giannina Gibelli
Honestly, the photos popped up on. On your Instagram and I about threw my phone out the window. I was like, this is the most stunning. And like the Heath there, like, everything was just so, like, poetic and like romantic and it just felt so intimate. And, like, perfectly timed. Like, I don't know how I can gather all that from social media, but I'm looking at it. I'm like, this is stunning.
Trixie Mattel
Thank you.
Giannina Gibelli
Just gorgeous. Full of love.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah, I love that. That was great. And then we went to Paris.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah. And we gotta, like, you know, like, celebrate our engagement in Paris.
Trixie Mattel
Had, like, an engagement mood, kind of like, love is win moon. So that was really sweet. And now we're just planning. Planning our wedding.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Exciting.
Giannina Gibelli
Do we have a year?
Trixie Mattel
Next year? Next summer?
Giannina Gibelli
Next summer?
Trixie Mattel
2026. Okay. We have the venue. We have the dress. So, yeah. I'm super excited. And it's like, nothing. I went to pick up my dress, and I was like, I want to feel exactly the opposite as what I did on Love is Blind.
Giannina Gibelli
I feel that.
Trixie Mattel
You know what I mean?
Giannina Gibelli
I feel that in my soul. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Trixie Mattel
And it was. Yeah, it was lovely.
Giannina Gibelli
I want to talk about your just picking out experience on Love is Blind later. But are we. Okay. But let's talk about. We're parents now.
Trixie Mattel
He's the best thing that's ever happened to me in my entire life. Like, I was meant to be a mom.
Giannina Gibelli
Oh, my God. And I'm not gonna make it through this. I'm not gonna make it.
Trixie Mattel
I don't know how I like not tearing up right now, because usually every single time, I'm just like, I love being a mom. Heath is wonderful, and he's just like. It was always him. I don't know how to explain it, but, like, as soon as. Like, I was, you know, carrying him, and as soon as I saw him, I was just like this. It was always you.
Giannina Gibelli
I'm not gonna make it.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I know. Me neither. I know. I always.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah, yeah. So with him, it was always y'all.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
Like, yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
And how's Blake as a dad? Are you seeing him through different eyes?
Trixie Mattel
Oh. So one thing that I haven't really said, I don't think even to you was. I don't know if you felt it after I gave birth, there's, like, this super blissful period where you're just, like, so serene, and you fall so deep in love. Oh, God. I can't keep it together.
Giannina Gibelli
No.
Trixie Mattel
We're gonna be a wreck to bring the tissues.
Giannina Gibelli
No, really.
Trixie Mattel
Shut. I just fell, like, so much deeper in love with him. And then my baby is, like, the spitting image of him. And just the fact that I see them together and just. Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
No, it is special. It's something. Yeah. It's hard to put into words, for sure.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah. It's fantastic. And it's also really hard. It's super hard. You know, you. Like, whether you know it or not, like, you have certain expectations of how you're gonna feel, how you're gonna, you know, bond or. Or work together, and. And, you know, having a child is so challenging. And then navigating, you know, we had Heath at two years into our relationship, so like, still, like, learning about each other and growing together. And then now we have this little baby that's just fully dependent on you, and it was super challenging. Honestly, one of the hardest, most rewarding years of my life. Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
It's a good way to put it. Yeah. Hardest thing, but the best thing.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
And how's G as a mom? Are you?
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah, I mean, she was. She said earlier, literally born to be a mother. Like, literally born. And I didn't really. When I first met her, I didn't really know that, but, like, as soon as she got pregnant and, like, she started carrying him, it was like, you. Like. Because she had such a beautiful pregnancy, like, I didn't expect that. I'll be honest. I was a little scared.
Trixie Mattel
He was waiting for me. I was waiting for him to have, like, a gremlin.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I was waiting for the shoe job. But she enjoyed being pregnant so much. And then it was like. Like I said, it was like, it's. It was like, you're born to be a mom, and it's been beautiful to watch. And he loves her so much. Little mama's boy.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah. It's the best part. Like, he's mine.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
Literally, I'm saying mama.
Trixie Mattel
Mama was his first word.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Mama. First still hasn't said dad, but we're working on it.
Trixie Mattel
Your second word is agua.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Trixie Mattel
Like, it's not even dada.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah. But no, it's just been. It's like she said, you fall so much deeper in love with somebody, and just you. You appreciate that person and the relationship that you have so much more.
Trixie Mattel
And then also, just, like, how I'm sure I am, like, you're. You're second place now, baby. I love you so much.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I'm like, fourth place. I'm behind a dog. I'm.
Trixie Mattel
Just kidding.
Katya Zamolodchikova
No, I mean, yeah, obviously, like, he will always be our priority. You know what I mean? Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
I mean, there's second place in, like, the nicest way. Yeah, of course. But it is. It is just very, like, immediate. It's like, oh, like, this is my priority in life.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
And there's this weird thing. Is A. As a father, like, I was. I'm not caring babies, so, like, there was no real connection there. You know what I mean? It was like, I could picture, you know, having. Being a dad, but it was like, there's. I was worried. I was scared, because she's already connected, and she's always like, I love him so much. I'm like, I don't know him. So, like, there was like, that, and.
Trixie Mattel
I was like, he's an eggplant now. Like, don't you care? Like, no. Why don't you?
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah, exactly. I was like, oh, that's. Yeah, that's cool. But, like, so I was really worried. I was like, am I gonna feel those expectations? Yeah, I was like, am I gonna feel that immediate, like, connection? And I did. I'm not. Not everybody does sometimes. It takes time. But, like, I. The second I saw him, I was like, oh, well, this is my life now. This is all I want. Like, you know, that's so. It's special. It's really.
Giannina Gibelli
I love that. What would you say is, like, your best parenting advice now?
Katya Zamolodchikova
The first thing I'll say, like, as a father, because the. You know, the child is so dependent on the mom those first few months, like, you're literally just there. Like, there's not much you can do, right? You can change the diapers. You can do that. But she's. She has the milk. She has. I mean, they literally. I read somewhere, they literally, like, for six months, they still think they're, like, a part of you. So the biggest thing I'll say out there for, like, fathers to be is, like, do everything you can to support the mom, because you can't really help too much with the baby itself. You know what I mean? You can feed it when you pump and things like that, but otherwise, it's like, whatever the mom needs because she's the one doing 99% of the work.
Giannina Gibelli
Those first few months.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Six, seven, eight months. So that's the biggest piece of advice I can say. Whatever the mom needs. What? Because it's crazy to watch how much. Yeah, mom needs.
Giannina Gibelli
Whatever the mom needs. Hashtag. You should hashtag that.
Trixie Mattel
What do I ask for now?
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah, what does mom.
Katya Zamolodchikova
She got push buttons. She got engagement rings. She got vacation. She got babymoon.
Trixie Mattel
What?
Giannina Gibelli
More whatever the mom needs. You said it.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah, you're right. I take that back. I take that back.
Giannina Gibelli
What would your biggest advice be?
Trixie Mattel
Honestly, one of the things that I wasn't expecting was how terrified I am all the time. You know, like, when you're about to fall asleep, and then you just go, yeah, yeah, yeah. So that's like consciousness.
Giannina Gibelli
I've heard that with. With parents. I've heard this random, like, it's curse of anxiety pop, like.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah, because you just want to protect them and nothing bad in the world can ever touch them. Like, no girl is ever gonna say no to him. Adults.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
Always gonna be.
Katya Zamolodchikova
No reality TV for me.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah, I know. That's the best thing that ever happened to us.
Giannina Gibelli
That's true, that's true, that's true.
Trixie Mattel
But I think now, you know, after just realizing how much I love him and how much I want to protect him, I also don't want to. And you've had this fear forever. Like, he thinks I'm gonna be, like, this helicopter mom to, like, bubble boy him and all this stuff. And that instinct is there, that urge is there. But kids are washable is the best thing that I've heard. And so I'm kind of applying that to a blanket of things. You know, whether it's like he falls and he gets hurt or he wants to, you know, just shove his hand in the spaghetti or the food. And like, typically that would just kind of give you anxiety and a lot of different stages of life. But as long as I have that in my head, kids are washable.
Giannina Gibelli
I love that.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah, I've never. I've never heard that.
Trixie Mattel
It's been. It's been honestly, like, a little.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah, kids are a lot more durable than you think.
Giannina Gibelli
Wait, do you guys think you're bringing any of, like, your upbringing, like, how your parents or your childhood was into how you're raising Heath now, or we freestyle it question.
Katya Zamolodchikova
We haven't been asked that.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah, I think, as far as. I don't think emotionally, because I think now my generation is just a little bit more evolved.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
As far as, you know how to. How to treat.
Katya Zamolodchikova
We just know more. Right.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah. Like a little kid as far as, like, emotions and this, like, it's. So instead of, like, throwing a tantrum and my mom, like, grabbing her chunk, you know, I've read a lot of things, and, you know, you let them. You let them let it out, and you make them feel that they're safe instead of, like, threatening all that stuff. So I think in that sense, 100%, I'm going to be different. But as far as. Sorry, mom, you know what you did.
Giannina Gibelli
You know what you did.
Trixie Mattel
You guys remember.
Giannina Gibelli
You know what you did?
Trixie Mattel
M. Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah, they know.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah, they know. M. As far as the food and I mean, I'm Latina. So apparently, like, it's in our culture. This is what I've been told. We bathe them, like, twice a day. And that's not the same as your culture.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah, I'm from the mountains in Colorado. I would.
Giannina Gibelli
So where did we meet? In the middle with that one.
Trixie Mattel
We bathe them twice a day.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah. There is no meeting in the middle, Agey. There is no meeting in the middle. When it comes to those things, it's a win.
Trixie Mattel
And he eats everything. Well, you eat everything.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah. I'm one of the people. I'm not a picky eater. And he's not picked up.
Trixie Mattel
But I make everything from scratch like my mom used to. So I think there's. I'm very heavily influencing my upbringing and culture. Cause, I mean, he speaks. He speaks Spanish.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Second word was Spanish. So, I mean, it's crazy.
Giannina Gibelli
Are you speaking any Spanish?
Katya Zamolodchikova
Trying. I'm way better than I was obviously before I met her or even before what kind of change it was when she, like, got pregnant. I was like, wait a minute. Like, these two are gonna talk some mad shit behind my back. I was like, I better learn Spanish. So they're not talking to each other.
Giannina Gibelli
I was cold for something, huh?
Katya Zamolodchikova
Oh, not yet. It better not be. They're gonna have code words. Exactly one Lang Languages, you know?
Trixie Mattel
No, but I'm gonna go to the bathroom when I start talking to my family now. That's what I'm thinking.
Katya Zamolodchikova
No. Yeah. I mean, that. That's a great question. Because I think as far as, like, what I've done, you know, my. My. I grew up in the mountains in Colorado, so I was very, like, active and very, like, outdoorsy, and I was getting hurt a lot, and I have a lot of scars, broken bones. And he's 10 months old, so, like, you know, there's not much. You know, he's just.
Giannina Gibelli
He's.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Any day now, he's gonna walk, which would be really exciting. Terrifying, but exciting. So I think, you know, my thing is, is, like, I just. I just enjoy. Like, we don't do screen time, like, ever. You know, just things like that, like.
Trixie Mattel
But I think that that came naturally. Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
In fact, he doesn't even. We flipped it on, and he gets kind of bored after about 15 minutes now. I'm sure that would change as he gets older and, you know, watches Ms. Rachel or whatever it is.
Trixie Mattel
But anyway, this is the shit you talk about when you have a baby.
Katya Zamolodchikova
All we talk about is the baby.
Giannina Gibelli
No, I'm literally watching you guys. You guys are telling Each other the story. Like, yeah. And then remember when we like, you guys are like all locked in ankles and talking to each other like, I love it. I freaking love it.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Sometimes I think my friends get so bored of me because that's all we talk about.
Trixie Mattel
It's like that trend. It's like the first one to talk about the baby pays the bill. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Giannina Gibelli
So speaking of screen time, you guys individually have had a lot of screen time and came together on some screen time. Do we see any more TV shows? If so, uh. Oh, did I strike a chord?
Trixie Mattel
Hi, crime junkies.
Giannina Gibelli
Are you looking for more ways to get your true crime fix?
Trixie Mattel
I have an option for you that.
Giannina Gibelli
Will cost you nothing but give you everything.

Katya Zamolodchikova
Not all good.
Trixie Mattel
No, honestly. So my manager's number is.
Katya Zamolodchikova
At the.
Giannina Gibelli
Bottom of the screen.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Your people call our people?
Trixie Mattel
Yeah, she called me.
Giannina Gibelli
Reality TV royalty is all you are. You are og. Yes.
Katya Zamolodchikova
There's a lot of, like, variables now that we have a family, but yeah, I mean, we're always up for fun. I mean, so you know all of our shows so far, you know, ups and downs, but it's led us here. So we would definitely be up for. For some more shows if it's.
Trixie Mattel
We love this shit. I love that. I love reality tv. I love being on reality tv.
Giannina Gibelli
I love talking about it. Yeah, I love that.
Trixie Mattel
Exactly. I love it. I'm not shying away from it.
Katya Zamolodchikova
No, not at all. Just have to bring Heath along.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah, I will have a clause in there. Yeah, Yeah. I have to bring the Entire famous, which I do. I bring them everywhere. Like if you see me traveling.
Giannina Gibelli
Oh, I've seen. I saw always how you did that commercial.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
And I saw like your BTS and you're like breastfeeding and getting your hair done. I'm like, this girl is like when I say goals, goals like you, you give like this like soft life, hard working mama, badass bitch. Like you just really like. No, I'm not even kidding. Like, you really are thriving from, you know, our pov, which I just love to see for you because we came from the same franchise. So I do want you to know that I recognize and I think it's a beautiful thing. And keep working hard and loving on your beautiful family. Cause you're. You're doing it, girl.
Trixie Mattel
Oh, wow. I have chills. Oh my God.
Katya Zamolodchikova
She is all of those things. Yeah, yeah, we just did three days. You know, she did a catwalk and New York Fashion Week and like we brought the whole fam, you know. And I'm out there being the trophy husband with Keith, walking, walking New York and stuff. So it's fun.
Trixie Mattel
Day by day. Yeah, Just day by day. And like after the show, I really just felt like I'm very woo woo and karmic and universal and I was like, this brought. It brought me here for a reason. And I like it. I, like, I, I can handle it too. Which is, you know, coming from our show. I. The point is to find people that are just walking down the street and you think that they're going to fall in love and then that's it. But it's hard to find like a mix of the two. You know, you're. You're humble, authentic person, but someone that can handle the harshness of the, the other side of this life. Like, you can have all the opportunities available, but there's always going to be a group of people that don't want.
Giannina Gibelli
To see you thrive. 100.
Trixie Mattel
And if you can push through that, like just laugh your way all the way to the bank, baby.
Giannina Gibelli
To the bank.
Trixie Mattel
Okay. And to the altar. I love that.
Giannina Gibelli
That's such a good state of mind to be in. And like considering the fact that you are like an OG from the show and we're five years celebrating five years now, which is insane. Give me your POV of how you think things have changed and evolved since. Yeah, since season one.
Trixie Mattel
So it's five years of it being released. It's seven years I filmed. Okay. So I filmed in 2018. So I've been in this like, first of all, I was in limbo for two years, and then after it got released, 2020, I think that was just such a blessing and a curse at the same time, because it. A lot of people watched it that didn't. That weren't going to watch it.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
And then everybody dated the same exact way, which was a real Truman show momentum. Oh, my God. Like, am I really. Yeah, it's like a simulation. Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah, yeah.
Trixie Mattel
So, you know, after I wrapped my head around that, I think just the way that it's evolved is I didn't think that it was going to work past my season. Yeah. I was literally in the pods just telling everybody, like, well, eat it up, because this is. This is too unique. It's too magical. Like, there's just. There was. I couldn't really quite put my finger on it. And then it's been, you know, duplicated and things have, you know, expanded to Japan and Germany, Brazil, uk everywhere. And I didn't think anybody was gonna watch it.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
I'm literally just in shock. Like, whoa. So just in that scale itself, like, I. I'm so honored to be a part of something that's just like, captured a lot of people and to see people believe in it. Not just, like, in the audience, but people actually being married. Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
Still married.
Trixie Mattel
Like, and, like.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
It's insane.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
So I. That just blows my mind. And I. I've said this before. If you're gonna watch the. If you're gonna be on the show, if you want to be on the show, don't watch the show.
Giannina Gibelli
Interesting. Why do you say that?
Trixie Mattel
I think it'll keep you from being influenced by outside factors. Which is the entire point of the show. Yeah, the entire point, at least for us. Like, Nick and Vanessa were just, like, outside. Are you really gonna let outside factors decide, you know, you're gonna be together and this.
Giannina Gibelli
Is that your Nick impression?
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
So, guys. So, guys. I love Nick and Vanessa. Yeah. Anyway, I. Yeah, I've. I've said that, and I still stick true to it. Because season one, no one knew what was happening. And that made you lead with your heart.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
Rather than.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
Which. I don't know. Season one, they're still married, so that worked.
Giannina Gibelli
I feel like I would. I was. I would tell the guys to watch the show. I feel like on my season, the men came on. They're like, what's this?
Katya Zamolodchikova
We're getting married. Wait, I don't get to see her, right?
Trixie Mattel
No, literally.
Giannina Gibelli
So what you look like. I'm like, do we know where the Hell we are.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Love is blind.
Giannina Gibelli
No, literally, they're like, I think, I don't think any of the guys knew that. Like, I mean my whatever didn't know. Like, he's like, oh, you get married at the end. I'm like, oh shit, where are we?
Katya Zamolodchikova
That's wild.
Giannina Gibelli
Literally, I would tell the men, watch the show or research it or look it up. Like, I feel like the women, we came in so open and full hearted and ready for a commitment and these men thought they were on a vacation.
Katya Zamolodchikova
That's funny you say that because I think a lot of men don't watch a lot of reality TV and women do. So women kind of know what they're getting into. But I'll be honest, on my scene, I knew because I don't go in blind. Like, I was like, I did the research. I didn't watch the show before, but I was like paying attention to like what was happening the season before and stuff on the Bachelor or the Bachelor. Yeah, the Bachelor. But a lot of the men on my season were the same way.
Giannina Gibelli
They don't know what's going on.
Katya Zamolodchikova
They're like, wait, what are these roses? What do these roses mean? You know, like that kind of. And I'm like, oh man, you're not gonna be at last, right? You ready to hit the road? Yeah, but yeah. So I mean, it's kind of funny you say that because I don't think men know. They don't watch Re ID as much.
Giannina Gibelli
As women and if they're getting their information from like TikTok and Instagram. Yeah. That's no wonder why everyone's coming out. Like you, you are in a relationship and you just doing this for clout and you're just trying to get famous. It's just like.
Trixie Mattel
Well also to. I'm not like defending that, but I didn't think that it was going to be something that would work.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
So I guess, I guess that's what they think. Like, oh, I'm just going to do this thing. It's never going to work cuz, like it's never going to happen.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah. Yeah, I'm just going to go have a good time.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I was open to it right now.
Trixie Mattel
But it's like, don't do that, don't.
Giannina Gibelli
Do that because there's some people cut it off.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah. Be honest.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Oh, you're saying the relationships from like.
Trixie Mattel
Like previously, like if you have a relationship. Yeah. Or like you're like in a situationship and then you're like, well, I'm just gonna do this thing.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's not gonna be a big deal.
Trixie Mattel
It's not gonna be a big deal. And then, like, you're fully engaged. Yeah, that's not gonna. Yeah, yeah, don't do that. So. Yeah, you know, I guess go in your research.
Giannina Gibelli
So do you feel like if you think back to the girl that walked into those pods all. What did you say? Seven years ago? How is that girl different from the woman sitting in front of me today?
Trixie Mattel
Oh, wow.
Katya Zamolodchikova
She's brunette.
Trixie Mattel
So when I do think about her. Gigi. Why am I gonna cry?
Katya Zamolodchikova
I was just gonna say you're gonna get emotional talking about this. I knew it. I was like, she's gonna cry during this.
Giannina Gibelli
It's a flash of you on the show.
Trixie Mattel
No, I love her. I'm really proud of her.
Giannina Gibelli
We're not gonna make it.
Trixie Mattel
No, I'm really proud of her. I think she was so hopeful and naive. I'm. I'm like a rose colored glasses, you know, like blind optimist. And I've always been like that. But back then I. I just didn't. I trust. I trusted everyone and everything, and I still do. But now I'm just wiser.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
But I would. I would like to protect her a little bit more. Why am I crying?
Katya Zamolodchikova
This is therapy right here, hon. Don't you hurry?
Trixie Mattel
Oh, Jesus.
Giannina Gibelli
I want to get your tissue.
Trixie Mattel
No, but she was. She's amazing. And honestly, I. I am jealous of her. I'm jealous of how open.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
And like, almost naive. Yeah. And now I'm. I'm. And I. I made it a point. I always made it a point to always stay true to me. Like, always. Even if you think I'm too optimistic and like two in the cloud sometimes. And all that stuff, like, that's what makes me someone that can handle, like, whatever life is thrown at her. And that. That didn't get taken away from me and I didn't become bitter. I just think that now I've just evolved so much into the person that I always wanted to be always. And. And that's a huge blessing. But it. It didn't come without, like, scars and trial and tribulation and just like me, like, literally in the fetal position just being like, why? Like, why, why, why? And so I just think that that girl that walked into the pods did everything that she ever wanted to.
Giannina Gibelli
Oh, my God. I really appreciate you being so vulnerable. I really do. Because I can relate in so many ways. And, like, I'm not as far out, but I just remember walking in and like, everyone's like, so, do you think you're gonna get married? I'm like, yeah. So optimistic. No, without a doubt. I was like, I've seen it work. People are married. People are still married. And I'm like, why not me? Like, I was so. I'm like, yeah, 100%. There was no doubt in my head that I wasn't getting married until I wasn't getting married. I just. And, like, that part of me is still there, but I'm wiser. I'm still optimistic, and I'm still very hopeful, but I'm not as innocent. Like, I feel like it takes a part of your, like, innocence away in a sense where you're like, I'm gonna go into things a little bit more guarded, a little more sheltered, a little more careful. So I can relate to you. But I am proud of that girl. I'm so proud of her.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
Imagine if they would have met.
Trixie Mattel
Wow.
Katya Zamolodchikova
You guys would have been just, like, head in the clouds, like, optimistic everywhere.
Trixie Mattel
Like, jumping on the couch.
Giannina Gibelli
Do you think if the show was as popular as it is today when you were going on, that you would have done it?
Trixie Mattel
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Traditional things have never worked for me, and I've always veered left in my life, whether it's, like, career choices or, you know, relationships. I've always just kind of veered left. And if this were to come up now, while it's, you know, as big as it is. Yeah, I would have done it. Yeah. I would have had the time of my life. I would have known, like, what the outcome could have been. But I don't think that would have scared me.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah, no.
Trixie Mattel
If anything, I probably just would have asked, like, deeper questions because. Yeah. By the end, by the time I met Damien, I was like, oh, yeah, maybe I should have asked you that. Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Trixie Mattel
Maybe I should have. Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah, yeah.
Trixie Mattel
So. No, what are you.
Giannina Gibelli
Honestly, I'm not going to lie. I would do it.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah. Because it was still pretty popular for me, and then my season kind of, like, skyrocketed. So, I mean, I. Yeah. I have zero regrets. Yeah. Would I do it tomorrow? Probably not. But, no, I've had. I had a great time, and I got super, super close with all the girls. Speaking of the girls, like, how is that? I don't feel like. I don't know. Correct me if I'm wrong that the girls from season one are close. Are you guys talking?
Trixie Mattel
You didn't, like, have, like, the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants thing?
Katya Zamolodchikova
That was cool.
Giannina Gibelli
The Traveling blanket.
Trixie Mattel
A lot of things happened where, like, just in general, if. If you have, you know, friends in your circle that get married and are at different life stages or this or that, like, you don't really relate.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
As much anymore.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
And with us, it was. It became such a close, close friendship. And then I think as soon as everyone got paired off and started dealing with their own things, it just kind of didn't mesh as much as it did before. But I still, like everybody. I've talked to everybody still to this day.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I was gonna say, I think it's one of those things where, like, when you're in the room with them again, it's like, no time is fine.
Trixie Mattel
Oh, yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
You know what I mean?
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I think it's kind of like I watch them together and it's fun because the Bachelor's the opposite. Like, we're all very friendly and we do things together.
Trixie Mattel
Because you guys are in a cult.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah. It's a weird. And it's a very.
Giannina Gibelli
Are you guys okay over there?
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
A larger pool of people.
Trixie Mattel
You know, when it was just us.
Giannina Gibelli
It was just us, literally.
Trixie Mattel
And so now I do feel, like, a deeper connection with just the. All the cast in general, because there's, like. For your. For example, like, your story, like, we connect on that level. Like, I couldn't connect with, you know, other people that have gone married and all that stuff because they weren't in a. You know, to my knowledge, they weren't in a toxic relationship for two years afterwards and got told not at the altar. Like, it got very isolating.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
For. For me, at least. And so. But now I feel like, you know.
Katya Zamolodchikova
We just hung out with Lauren and Cameron a couple months ago.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I mean. Yeah, everybody's great. I mean, everybody from Love Is Blind that I've met has been fantastic. You also, you know, you moved away from.
Trixie Mattel
I moved away from Atlanta. Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
I forget. It was filmed in Atlanta. Interesting.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
Okay.
Trixie Mattel
I love Atlanta.
Giannina Gibelli
So how often do you go back? Or if at all?
Trixie Mattel
No. So I have, like, my best friend still lives there, and he'll, you know, occasionally, like, DJ out there or something. But I don't go back. If anything, right after the. All after. After the altar, I just immediately said, bye, put everything in a storage unit, and just, like, left. Yeah. And that was just the best decision for me. But I. I love Atlanta so much. It just gave me everything that I ever wanted and more. And I was gonna leave at the moment that I was telling my girlfriends at a bar I'm done with Atlanta. Yeah, there's nothing for me here. I got a DM casting me. Really?
Giannina Gibelli
Really.
Trixie Mattel
So.
Giannina Gibelli
Okay. So you were scouted?
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah, I was, too.
Katya Zamolodchikova
She showed me the picture today.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Of, like, what they. The picture they saw of her.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah. I was in the middle with my two girlfriends, and I was having. I had, like, this big. It was very bachelorette. Like this big bouquet of roses.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
And I was blonde. You know, the whole thing, like a glittery dress. And that's it. That's the picture that changed my life. So geotag your shit.
Giannina Gibelli
Literally, that is, like, such a key when people are like, I want to go on tv, what do I do? Post about where you live, where you're at. Because people are trying to. They are scouting, they are casting that net. And, like, reality TV has gotten so. I don't know, I feel like it's more mainstream. There's so many huge, huge celebrities watching. Why do you think that they're watching and so obsessed with Love is Blind. Did you see Zendaya?
Trixie Mattel
Oh, I didn't see that, did she? I literally saw it.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I was like, yeah, this season or was it.
Giannina Gibelli
She just said, love is blind in general. She's just, Oh, I did see this.
Trixie Mattel
In an interview, unfortunately.
Giannina Gibelli
Love is Blind. I was like, same, same.
Katya Zamolodchikova
That's. That's cool. I mean, what do you think?
Trixie Mattel
So I think because they're just in shock that we're not playing characters and.
Giannina Gibelli
That we are this insane. You can say it.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
We're crazy to, like, put so much of ourselves out there on such a large scale. And we're not acting.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
And so I think they're literally watching them be like, how. How are you? You know, you're. There's a camera. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
That's literally what she said.
Trixie Mattel
So I think that's because they're just like, this can't be real. Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
To say the same thing. Like, I think being vulnerable, like, as yourself on national television in front of millions of people, I think they're just like, what? They're just being yourself.
Trixie Mattel
They're probably studying, honestly, like, my next.
Giannina Gibelli
Character is in Gigi. So Ariana Grande goes, I check their Instagrams, I check to make sure they're still in dating or married or engaged. Like, they literally are invested.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah. Like, do you think Ariana Grande has been on your Instagram searched.
Giannina Gibelli
Fun fact.
Katya Zamolodchikova

Manage and grow your business all in one place. Intuit QuickBooks your way to money. She follows me. But I don't like to say too much just in case she's like, I'm following you. Oh, wait, please don't unfollow me. Is that not crazy?
Trixie Mattel
I love that.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah. But I try not to say it because I don't want her to remember.
Trixie Mattel
Okay, yeah, yeah, cut it.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah, cut that part out.
Trixie Mattel
You want to follow me too?
Giannina Gibelli
No, I love her.
Trixie Mattel
I love it.
Giannina Gibelli
I love it. But, yeah, I think that I feel like my season brought out so many random celebrities. Like one time, like, Rick Ross got on his Instagram and he's like, ad. And I'm like, no way.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Rick Ross.
Trixie Mattel
You've been invited to some parties.
Giannina Gibelli
I know.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Rick Car. Oh, I bet. I was just saying.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah, we stay away from the parties. Yeah, but it's just so insane. Our reach and, like, what we've been able to, like, show the world and.
Trixie Mattel
It in many countries.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah, yeah. It's not just like, mom sitting on the couch. It's. It's everywhere.
Trixie Mattel
It's hip hop.
Giannina Gibelli
Love is blind hip hop at this point. So, like, did you see Gigi's season?
Katya Zamolodchikova
I have not seen it, so I did not. No, I did not watch Let Us Wine. So I didn't know who she was. I knew of the show, but I didn't watch. So I didn't know who she was when I got down to the beach on All Star Shore. But very quickly when I got back, I googled her and I watched the lines. We all know the lines. You know what I mean? The looks, the lines. But I've never watched the full season. Her full season. Yeah, but I know, you know, I. I know the running away in the wedding dress and falling down.
Trixie Mattel
They love that clip.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah, you parodied it for Halloween. I dressed up as I wore her actual wedding.
Trixie Mattel
Shut up.
Katya Zamolodchikova
And I ran and I fell and.
Trixie Mattel
I wore, like, his actual suit.
Katya Zamolodchikova
That I cried in. That's so funny. Yeah. So that was, that was like a fun thing. Like, I think, I think it's, you know, reality TV start. Like we like you, like she talked about to you. Like we get it right. So like we can make fun of like her getting dumped at the altar, you know, and me during your proposal. And I think that's hard, you know, I think that's why we, we connect so much as like reality TV stars and stuff.
Trixie Mattel
I was gonna say just been through.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Everything so much, you know, together and everything. So it's. It's fun. Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
Like we don't pretend that our past doesn't exist. I love that. Which I think is a. The key. Yeah. And when. I don't know if you've experienced this, but when I was dating after Love is Blind, no one trusted me. Like, these men were just like. They thought I had an ulterior motive or they just, they just. I literally, I was told flat out, like, I don't trust you. And I was like, okay, so. So this just worked. This just worked for me. Because we have the same sense of humor too. So like we can, we can just joke about everything. And it's not said with, you know, a hidden intention. It's not jealousy or hidden feelings or anything like that. Like. No, like, I genuinely understand.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
At this point we can just laugh about it.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
And it's pretty great.
Katya Zamolodchikova
It's. It's funny too because you asked if I've seen it now that we have a son.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
We start to think like, wait, like.
Giannina Gibelli
He'S gonna watch in 4K.
Katya Zamolodchikova
It's like, oh my God, like he's gonna watch, you know, me kiss girls on national tele like you. I know.
Trixie Mattel
And I'm like, oh no.
Katya Zamolodchikova
How am I supposed to like give him advice and be.
Trixie Mattel
You know what I mean? It's just like, dad, you don't know.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Oh, yeah. Well, episode two, you know what I mean? Yeah. But it'll be fun too, to. I think the coolest part about how we met is he'll be able to watch our love story unfold. I don't think many kids can say that, like actually watch their parents fall in love. Which is really cool.
Trixie Mattel
I love that.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I'm really excited.
Trixie Mattel
Well, cuz one thing is like you. Do you remember the moment when you realized that your parents had a life before you?
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
Isn't that really weird? It was really like.
Giannina Gibelli
That's why I take a lot of pictures now because I'm like, mom was hot. Mom had the bangin body. Daddy had hair. I like to take all the photos now for proof. And the fact that we were able to do this on TV as well is incredible. So you guys have a love story that you can share forever. It's almost immortalized.
Trixie Mattel
And, like, you see it? Like, you see it. Yeah, we were. Yeah. And he asked me to be his girlfriend on the show.
Katya Zamolodchikova
In Spanish.
Trixie Mattel
In Spanish.
Giannina Gibelli
Oh, how can I hear you say it? Do you remember?
Katya Zamolodchikova
Oh, I don't remember. Was pretty cool. It was. It was a fun moment and, like. Yeah. But I'll never forget.
Trixie Mattel
Oh, my God.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I'll never forget. When I was going, so I, like, grabbed her hands, right? We, like, planned this whole thing, me and all the other housemates.
Trixie Mattel
And it was really cute.
Katya Zamolodchikova
It was really cute. You know, we had rose petals and all kinds of stuff. And I walk her down. Or. No, my friend walks like. He's Chris Harrison.
Giannina Gibelli
He's like, walking.
Trixie Mattel
You know, she's like the host of the show.
Katya Zamolodchikova
And so I grab her hands and her face, like, low key, like, goes white for a second.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah, I panicked.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I feel like she had, like, PTSD of, like, is he gonna ask me? You know?
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
And so I had this whole speech planned out, and I saw her face. I was like, I'm just gonna cut to the Spanish parts. Like, I don't want her to pass out. So I kind of like, yeah, I kind of sped it up, and I was like, no, no, no, don't ask, girlfriend. You know what I mean? And then, yeah, that's gonna be my girlfriend.
Trixie Mattel
And you can literally see it in my face. I go.
Katya Zamolodchikova
She's like, yeah. She's like, yes. Yeah, yeah. It was, like, a really funny moment. Another one we can look back at.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah, but you, like, had a moment after Bachelor in Paradise, and you opened up about some mental health issues and things that you were struggling with. I would love to talk more about that and why it was so important for you too.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah, that would have been summer of 2019, so about four, five years ago, which is crazy to think. Come a long way since then. I think G, the word she used earlier was isolated. And I think coming off these shows, you feel very isolated and you feel very alone, and you feel like the whole world has watched and you guys kind of did 190 countries is crazy. But mine, you know, is just like, you know, this rapid fan bachelor nation in, you know, the United States, and. But it feels like the real world is just crumbling around you. And I had a terrible experience, and I remember for ours is a little different because once the show's over, I probably only waited, like, two weeks before it aired. Thank God.
Giannina Gibelli
That's insane.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah, it was. It's such a fast turnover for us. But I just remember, like, I was literally in the fetal position. You know, I didn't leave my apartment for my condo for probably, God, I would say close to two and a half months, three months, because I was just so terrified. I literally was so in my own head that I thought I was gonna walk out the door and people were gonna, like, throw drinks at me, you know, you're just in such a deep depression, and it was hard to get out of that. You know, I have an incredible family and incredible support system, and they helped a ton. But even sometimes it's hard to relate to them, right? It's like, you know, and even if they try to understand, you're like, you don't understand what it's like. Like, I'm trending number one on Twitter, and it's not good. You know what I mean? Like, it's not a good thing. And so it takes a while to kind of crawl out of that hole. And I was down there. And I always say, like, everybody has a rock bottom, right? Everybody has a rock bottom. Somebody's rock bottoms are deeper than others. But everybody's hit it. And so, you know, everybody has found their way out, no matter how deep it is. And so I found my way out. You know, I started therapy, which I always kind of scoffed at. Therapy. And then, you know, you hit rock bottom, you go on reality tv, and it's like. Like, it has saved. You know, it saved me in more ways than one. I still go to therapy, so that was just. It was a hard time in my life. And I think kind of what she said earlier, like, kind of have to go through that, right? You got to get those scars, build that scar tissue to become who you are. And I was very jaded. Like, I trusted nobody because I was similar to her. I was. I had such a good experience on the Bachelor. I got my heart broken, everything. But, like, I had a really good experience. So I wanted paradise, like, all walls down.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I was just like, this is gonna be great. I'm gonna have so much fun. And then it was just, like, didn't. It was the complete opposite. And so I was very jaded towards tv, reality tv, towards people, towards friends. I was just like, you all. Like, you all backstabbed me.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
So that was. It was a hard time. And I think meeting these Incredible people in my life. And meeting G. And just being able to have that experience on another show where it was a good experience was healing.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
For me, you know, it was very healing. And so I kind of came out of that, like, with a new, like, lease on life. I was like, oh, like, it can be good, you know, and I can meet somebody great off of it. And it's not all people, like, trying to get ahead, you know, there for the right reasons, quote, unquote. Not to be too bad. Sure. But, yeah, so it was a hard time in my life, but, you know, I made it out. And I. Whenever people ask about it, I always say, you know, like, therapy is probably what saved me, saved my life. And so I highly recommend that stuff for everybody. And.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah, big therapy advocate over here.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yes, yes, yes.
Giannina Gibelli
I'm also in therapy.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
And it takes time. People always think, like, one therapy session is gonna heal. It's like, no, you. Not only. You got to find the right therapist. I went through three or four until I found the right one. And then she's fantastic. And, you know, and then it just. You kind of slits a slow. A slow ride to get back to where you feel like yourself again. But, yeah, I mean, it's. It's. I'm glad I went through all of that, because here I am and got a beautiful family and everything, and.
Giannina Gibelli
And you're a DJ now.
Katya Zamolodchikova
DJ now I've got my dream job. And that honestly never would have happened if it wasn't for paradise, because I think that was like. Like, what are you gonna do now? You know? And I was like, I had this love for music, and I had this love for DJing, and I was like, I'm gonna do it. Cause if I came out, you know, quote unquote, like, in a relationship or anything like that, like, I probably wouldn't have taken that leap.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Now, you know, I got my dream career, dream job, dream girl, dream family living. Yeah, exactly.
Giannina Gibelli
I know that's right. Dream, dream, dreams.
Trixie Mattel
Okay, here we are. Yeah, yeah, but we still have a lot of trauma. Of course.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Of course. I get some ptsd. I don't watch Paradise. Don't watch paradise anymore. It's a ptsd. But.
Trixie Mattel
But also. And that was beautiful.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah, we're proud of you.
Trixie Mattel
We're proud of you.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Be nice out there, audience.
Giannina Gibelli
I always say we're doing our best.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I remember I was with. I was with Hannah Berner, and we were. We were hanging out, went on her podcast, and she was going through, like, her villain era. If you will on her show. And I told her, I was like, listen, like audience out there, like, you always gotta remember your king, your queen. The best person, person you love isn't as good as you think. And the villain, the person you hate isn't as bad as you think. Like, we're all human. We all make mistakes. We're all right there in the middle somewhere. Like, nobody's perfect and nobody's this perfect villain. You know what I mean? So I always say that, like, try and just keep level headed as an audience person.
Giannina Gibelli
I always try to give that advice too. Like whenever I get the chance. They're like, do you want to tell the people anything? I'm like, please be nice. Yeah, we all go home and cry at night. Like, we're all fighting for our fucking lives.
Katya Zamolodchikova
We still do sometimes.
Giannina Gibelli
You know what I mean?
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
I'm doing my best.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Doing our best. It's a good way to put it. We're just out there doing our best.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
Do you talk to anyone still from bachelor nation?
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah, I have some really close friends from bachelor nation. Me and Jason Tartek are super close. You know, we got Clay Harbor, Joe, Dylan and Hannah. We're all this weird ancestral family.
Giannina Gibelli
That's one way to put it.
Trixie Mattel
They've all made out with each other.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Every time G comes to like a basher wedding, she's like, so who here have you made out with?
Trixie Mattel
I'm like, well, I literally not jealous. Not a jealous girl, but I just want to be in the know.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
Who do I have to. Because, you know, sometimes they'll go up and like, I don't know, one of ask questions or this or that. I again, we have evolved from the pods. Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
But yeah, she's still in there. Like, don't play with my girl. Do not play my girl.
Katya Zamolodchikova
And I always try and warn. I'm like, well, bachelor's different. Okay. You had one season, you know, of your season. I had like 30 seasons. You know what I mean?
Trixie Mattel
I don't care. Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
To me it's nothing.
Trixie Mattel
It's absolutely nothing.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah, I, I feel that. Can you guys share any, like, secrets from either a bachelor nation or your season that maybe the people don't know about?
Katya Zamolodchikova
The paradise where we film the, like, resort, if you will. It is, and I think it's as well known, but like, there's no air conditioning. It's open air. We're all dying. We're. We're drinking dehydrated. We're sweating. There's, you know, there's monkeys and Snakes in our beds. Like. Like.
Giannina Gibelli
No, crazy.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Like we would be sleeping in the middle of the night and there'd be a monkey run across.
Giannina Gibelli
No, we all pop up.
Katya Zamolodchikova
You know what I mean? So that's another thing is, like, when we're in that weird bubble, it's like we are not ourselves.
Giannina Gibelli
You're trying to fall in love and.
Katya Zamolodchikova
There'S monkeys over there and you're not sleeping. You know what I mean? So it's a very strange environment. So I think I always say, like, give people grace because you have no idea what the environment is like. It's crazy. It's crazy.
Giannina Gibelli
Wait, no, that's insane. That's a great one.
Katya Zamolodchikova
And I think from what I've heard, they might be moving paradise to a new location. I don't know that's true or not, but that location that was filmed for six seasons was a lot.
Giannina Gibelli
No, that's scary. It's like a hut.
Katya Zamolodchikova
There's no glass anywhere. It's all open air. And it was hot. June in Mexico. Brutal.
Giannina Gibelli
Snakes. Was there ever personally a snake in your bed?
Katya Zamolodchikova
Not a snake, no. Crabs. Lots of crabs in the beds.
Trixie Mattel
Crabs.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I walked right into that one, didn't I?
Giannina Gibelli
So moving past the animals, do you have any secrets to I. That won't land you in blind prison?
Trixie Mattel
I don't know if this is really a secret, but I don't. I don't know. Maybe you can let me know if. If this sort of thing happened to you. So I always say that it was presented to me like a social experiment, and I felt it through and through like a social experiment. So when I was in the pods and no one's talked about this, when I was in the pods, I really felt like I was just. I had epiphanies. I had outer body experiences, I had anxiety attacks. Like, I was mentally going through a lot of just realizations. And I felt so in tune with my body. I was connected to everything. Like, I felt your energy. I could. I could see auras. I went through some crazy spiritual awakenings in there. And I was just taken out of my environment and put into something. And just everything around me really just vacuum sealed me. And I literally look back at that moment of those nine days in there and just being like, I reached enlightenment in the pods. It was insane.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah. You know why? Because there's no way to prep anyone for that sequester. Sequester. Yeah, that if, like that sequester. You don't. They're like, oh, we're gonna take your phones and your Tablets and blah, blah. And you're just like, okay, whatever. A few days without my phone, I'll survive. No, no, no. You don't have your tablet in your phone, but you have your thoughts and you have everything.
Katya Zamolodchikova
You.
Giannina Gibelli
Then you have other people's thoughts, like, from the pods in the lounge. And you're sitting there and you're like, what the Is actually going on? And you guys, correct me if I'm wrong, you didn't, like. Like, where did y'all stay?
Trixie Mattel
So we stayed.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Okay, careful.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah, careful, careful. We ended up staying in a hotel. Yes.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah. Interesting.
Giannina Gibelli
But did they take the remotes and the.
Trixie Mattel
Oh, yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
Everything out of the room.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
No phones, no nothing.
Trixie Mattel
Had the Bible. So literally, I would. I would be like, okay, what's the universe gonna tell me today? So, like, I would crack open the Bible and just, like, read a passage. Yeah, Like, I was going. Yeah, I was going through a lot.
Giannina Gibelli
I like liter alarm clock. You know those retro ones with the radio. I like, they thought they were so slick. They took, like, the antenna and, like, taped it down, and I'm like, I'm. Surely I can get a signal. I, like, untaped it. I taped it to the wall. And I'm listening to, like, country music in the morning. Like, I couldn't find a station, but I just needed something. No one ever knows. Knew that story. But, yeah, if there's a secret alarm in there, play some music, because you're. You're literally there with just your thoughts, your imagination. And then you go to, like, the lounges the next day, and someone's telling you a story about how they love your man. And you're like, right, the man that I just dreamed about all night. Like, it's the most insane. Yeah, I can see. Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
And then at the end of the day, you're also develop in my. You know, developing the sixth sense that you can, like, connect with this person through a wall. And so it was just. Just like, you open up so much, and. And if you don't, it's not gonna work, but if you do.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah, I leaned into it heavy. Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
That's what you got to do. I always say that, like, you can go in being like, oh, maybe I'll fall in love, but you gotta go in, like, ready to fall walls down. We were three months without a phone. Isn't that wild? We were three months. So talk about enlightenment.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I remember writing, like, this is weird to say, but, like, I was writing my proposal and being like, damn, I'm smart. Cause I was Like, I. You know, I was just so in it. Yeah, just so. And I had a moment like that, too, where we were in the gym in. God, I think I was in the Bahamas, maybe. We were in a gym. We get, like, gym time. And the treadmill had WI fi. Got onto Facebook, and I DMed my mom.
Trixie Mattel
I was like, mom, you aren't safe.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I was like, yeah. I was like, mom, I think I'm gonna go to hometown. Like, clean the house.
Trixie Mattel
You know what I mean?
Giannina Gibelli
That was so funny.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah. Through the treadmill.
Giannina Gibelli
There's always a way.
Trixie Mattel
There's always a way.
Giannina Gibelli
It was funny.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yes.
Giannina Gibelli
Okay, so it is game time. We're gonna have a little fun here. A little Newlywed game. You guys have your whiteboards? It's like, pre.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah, pre. Pre.
Giannina Gibelli
Newly wed. Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Might as well be. Okay, just to let you know that we're very competitive, so this. You know, Heath might grow up in a broken home. We'll see.
Giannina Gibelli
We'll see. God, this is a make or break relationship.
Trixie Mattel
What happened? What's the reality podcast? Listen to episode. You'll know.
Giannina Gibelli
Okay, so I'm gonna ask you guys some questions about each other. You write down the answer, and let's just see how in tune we are.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
Okay, Question number one. Who is the first to say I'm sorry after an argument?
Trixie Mattel
Really have to think about that?
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah. Cause it's.
Giannina Gibelli
Should I count down?
Katya Zamolodchikova
Don't you dare.
Giannina Gibelli
One, two, three.
Katya Zamolodchikova
It is me. It is me.
Trixie Mattel
So me.
Katya Zamolodchikova
It is me.
Trixie Mattel
When do you ever say it?
Giannina Gibelli
Who's gonna apologize after this?
Katya Zamolodchikova
This is it. This is it. This is the end of my.
Giannina Gibelli
Well, technically, you both got it, right? Cause you both said it.
Katya Zamolodchikova
That's true. That's true.
Trixie Mattel
Okay, well, I did my angry face at you.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I know she did.
Trixie Mattel
That was a serious angry face.
Giannina Gibelli
Okay, next question. Who has a harder time saying no to Heath?
Katya Zamolodchikova
To Heath.
Giannina Gibelli
Mm. One, two, three.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah. Yeah, for sure. He's got me wrapped around his little finger.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I can't even imagine. When he's older, you are gonna. Yeah, it's gonna be bad. I'm gonna have to be the disciplinarian.
Trixie Mattel
We're obsessed with each other.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah, they are.
Giannina Gibelli
It's just like. Okay, baby.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah. Okay. Whenever you want me. Literally, like, you're gonna bite my nipple.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Okay.
Trixie Mattel
Okay.
Katya Zamolodchikova
You want to pinch me?
Trixie Mattel
Okay. You're gonna poop on me.
Giannina Gibelli
Okay. Okay.
Trixie Mattel
So cute.
Giannina Gibelli
But it's so cute.
Katya Zamolodchikova
It is. It is. It is.
Giannina Gibelli
Okay, Gigi, what is Blake's most annoying habit? So you write it down.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I write down.
Giannina Gibelli
And you. Yeah, you both write it.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Okay.
Giannina Gibelli
Most annoying habit. He's already like, I know how I annoy this.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I have so many. I don't know which one to put.
Trixie Mattel
I'm gonna write one, two, three. Okay.
Katya Zamolodchikova
What? No, you gotta pick one.
Trixie Mattel
One.
Katya Zamolodchikova
The most annoying. Not annoying.
Giannina Gibelli
Actually, no. Put all three, get all the tea.
Katya Zamolodchikova
And then give me all the red flags.
Trixie Mattel
Okay.
Giannina Gibelli
Okay. One, two, three, Show.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Didn't shower enough.
Trixie Mattel
I said he rushes me.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
Okay, that's annoying. Yeah, that is annoying.
Trixie Mattel
He likes to be early, and I don't know what that means.
Giannina Gibelli
That is very annoying.
Trixie Mattel
Doesn't shower.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I always say, like, I get into bed, I shower.
Trixie Mattel
No, he shower.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I just don't shower. Like, she showers, like, two to three.
Trixie Mattel
Times, but I shower. Yeah, I shower multiple times.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Multiple times. And I'll get into bed sometimes, like, without showering.
Trixie Mattel
She's like, yeah, that says get in bed dirty. Get in bed dirty.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I'll just say, get in bed.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Not clean.
Trixie Mattel
Okay. The number two is the winner move.
Giannina Gibelli
Number. Yeah, because now I'm annoyed.
Trixie Mattel
And number three, you're. I'm the head in the clouds. He's a realist.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah, I'm a realist.
Giannina Gibelli
Okay.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Being a realist.
Trixie Mattel
Annoying.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah. It's annoying to you.
Giannina Gibelli
Okay, lovely. Now it's your turn to this one.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
Blake, what is Gigi's most annoying habit? You can write three or four if you feel inclined.
Katya Zamolodchikova
No, this is a big enough one.
Trixie Mattel
It's like the one.
Katya Zamolodchikova
This is, like, the one thing we fight over. Hence, why. Exclamation, exclamation.
Trixie Mattel
Okay.
Giannina Gibelli
1, 2, 3, shell late to everything. I'm late.
Katya Zamolodchikova
That is the number one thing that we. We have trouble with because I am a very punctual person. Yeah. Yeah. I am a very functional person.
Trixie Mattel
And I run on Spanish, hence why.
Katya Zamolodchikova
We were sprinting to the gate this morning. That wasn't my fault, was it? Not your fault.
Giannina Gibelli
Well, did you apologize first?
Katya Zamolodchikova
Never for that.
Trixie Mattel
No, absolutely.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Heath woke up right when we were leaving. And then. And it's like crying.
Giannina Gibelli
Okay, now write down the thing that you both love about each other. How about. Yeah, just write your favorite thing about each other. Let's end this game on a beautiful, lovely note. Your favorite thing.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah, let's finish this.
Trixie Mattel
Yeah.
Giannina Gibelli
On a happy note.
Trixie Mattel
You know, I like it.
Katya Zamolodchikova
I put one word, but I'm going to, like, stop it. Okay.
Giannina Gibelli
Okay. Let's do one at a time.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Okay.
Giannina Gibelli
Like, what is your favorite thing?
Katya Zamolodchikova
I love G's compassion. She always has compassion. For everybody in her life. And I love her compassion to Ethan stuff and seeing her as a mom. So your compassion to everybody around you.
Trixie Mattel
You're gonna cry a little.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Nope. America see me cry enough.
Trixie Mattel
That was so sweet.
Giannina Gibelli
Okay, go ahead, Gigi.
Trixie Mattel
And I guess this is about me, but it's really about you.
Katya Zamolodchikova
This is. This is our relationship. This is our relationship.
Trixie Mattel
But he can always make me smile, like, always in the middle of, like, an argument, even when I don't want to, or just, like, he can always, always, always get me to just melt. Yeah. And I've. Whenever I met him, I was like, he's my sunshine. He's always just. I'm done. No, but you're. And every.
Katya Zamolodchikova
That's sweet.
Trixie Mattel
That's. That's you, babe.
Giannina Gibelli
You guys have been amazing. This is so fun.
Trixie Mattel
You've been amazing.
Giannina Gibelli
Oh, thank you. I will always refer to you guys as reality royalty, because, like I said, goals all around. You guys are beautiful inside and out. Beautiful family, and I just want to encourage you guys to keep going. Is there anything you guys want to, like, kind of leave us with, like, your biggest takeaway from it all, either parenthood or tv, or even this conversation?
Katya Zamolodchikova
I got one. I'm just gonna, like, don't give up. Like, your person's out there. Especially when it comes to love. Your person's out there. And even if you're not looking for love, like, just. Just keep dreaming. And. Yeah, don't give up.
Giannina Gibelli
I love that. Don't give up.
Trixie Mattel
Wow. That was so nice. Short, sweet. To the point. Now for my long.
Katya Zamolodchikova
The long winded one.
Trixie Mattel
No, I. I mean, yes, 100. But also, just don't. Don't listen to other people. People. I mean, I had a lot of very close, close people that told me not to go towards my dreams, and now they're the ones that praise me the most. So at the end of the day, just always, always go with your instinct.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
That little. Little voice, that. That tug, that pull. Don't ignore it.
Giannina Gibelli
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
To this day, whatever decision I make when it comes to our family, when it comes to, you know, business decisions, and it's never led me astray, ever. If anything, I look back and I'm like, damn, I'm good.
Katya Zamolodchikova
Yeah.
Trixie Mattel
So just always listen to. To that little voice and your instinct because you will never. You'll never put yourself in a position that you can't handle. God, the universe will always look out for you. And, yeah, whatever you're going through now, just. You're going to be on the other side of it. And you can't ever going to. Nothing's ever going to pass you that you're not meant for. Is that the right way to say it? Yeah. Oh, no. My Spanish English, that was so good. And. And yeah. And you'll. You're going to be even better than you ever imagined. So I love that.
Giannina Gibelli
I think my. My takeaway, not that anyone asked, but I think just seeing you two as a couple and just kind of like you said, it gets better. And like, you're saying, blake, like, don't give up. And I think there's so much beauty in, like, this kind of like reality love TV space where people are thinking it's just fake. Like, people are just going on for whatever. And you guys are proof, and I think you guys are giving hope to anyone out there that maybe even season 8 love is blind people or the next contestants on whatever show that there is hope. And that, like, if you stay true to that little voice and you don't give up, you have something so amazing.
Trixie Mattel
