What's the reality? What's the reality? What's up, you guys? And welcome to another episode of what's the reality? It's me, ad. And today I am joined by a very special guest, Megan, AKA Sparkle.
Megan
Meg. Hello.
Host (Ad)
And later, I have a little Halloween treat for you guys. Last time Freddie was here on the podcast, y' all went wild in the comments asking him to come back and share some of his spooky stories. So. So he'll be joining us later to tell one of his ghost stories. So stay tuned for that.
Megan
Welcome. Thank you.
Host (Ad)
How are you?
Megan
Thanks for having me. I'm good.
Host (Ad)
You're sparkling.
Megan
I'm sparkling.
Host (Ad)
I love to see it.
Megan
Couldn't resist.
Host (Ad)
I love to see a sparkling smile, smuggling eyes, sparkling dress. Just giving the girls what we need.
Megan
Thank you. Well, welcome.
Host (Ad)
So first of all, the reunion.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
Thank you so much for joining me after the night that you just had.
Megan
I know it's been a whirlwind, but we're here. Yeah.
Host (Ad)
How are you feeling now? Since the season's finally over?
Megan
I feel good. It's nice to kind of, you know, this was filmed so long ago, so having this at least kind of be out and be happening finally is a little bit of a relief. But I feel like it's kind of just the stepping stone for the next phase.
Host (Ad)
Speaking of stepping stone, you made a very big announcement at the reunion. Very big. You revealed that you're now a mom to a little boy.
Megan
I'm a mom.
Host (Ad)
Congratulations.
Sponsor/Commercial Voice
Thank you.
Megan
You're about to be. I know.
Host (Ad)
Mom to be. That's so Exciting. Okay. So Brooks is now two months.
Megan
Yep, he's two and a half months.
Host (Ad)
Tell me about him and your experience being a new mom so far.
Megan
Uh, it's amazing. Yeah. I mean, you know, I always, except for that last episode in the show, always knew I was going to be an amazing mom and was something I wanted to do and yeah, it's far exceeded my expectations. And he's just the best thing ever.
Host (Ad)
Aww.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
Okay, so your partner, Paul and Brooke's dad was also at the reunion.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
Tell us a little bit more about how you met him in your relationship.
Megan
Yeah, so Paul and I got introduced through a mutual friend. I did this. I'm into all the wellness retreats and things like that, so I went to one called the Hoffman Institute or Hoffman Process, and I met his best friend there. And I don't know, it was probably six months after the fact, and I think four or five months after we, Jordan and I had ended things, um, his friend introduced us and we just immediately hit it off and obviously.
Host (Ad)
Yeah, obviously hit it off.
Megan
Things got hot and heavy pretty quickly. So. Yeah, it's been. We've had our ups and downs for sure. I'm not gonna say it's all been.
Narrator/Announcer
Yeah.
Megan
Rainbows and butterflies. But, yeah, we have a beautiful little boy now, so that's all I can.
Host (Ad)
Okay. Are you and Paul living together.
Megan
Now? We are, yeah. Since baby. Yeah.
Host (Ad)
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Did you finally buy the home in Denver?
Megan
Yep.
Host (Ad)
Was it the one that we saw?
Megan
No. I wish even that was a little. A little much for me. I don't know if six bedrooms is necessary, but yeah, I bought a home there last June and did a whole, like, house reno.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
Which was super fun, stressful.
Host (Ad)
You did that while pregnant? Yeah, I can barely walk up the steps. Oh, my gosh. Wait, that's so cool.
Megan
Yeah, so it was fun to like, kind of put my touch on. On the home and that's kind of one of my hobbies. So.
Host (Ad)
Yeah. That's so cool. And you have a home here in LA too?
Megan
I used to. Yes. I sold. I. Yeah, I wish I was able to kind of keep them both, but maybe one day I'll get a place back out here again.
Host (Ad)
Yeah. Tell us a little bit about. A little more. Should I say about Paul? Like.
Megan
Yeah. So Paul is a little bit older.
Host (Ad)
A little bit. What's the age gap?
Megan
We are 11 years. Yeah.
Host (Ad)
Okay.
Megan
So I'm 35, he's 46.
Host (Ad)
That's not too bad. Yeah, that's normal.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
Yeah. Okay.
Megan
Yeah. So he owns his own company, is owner, CEO from St. Louis. So solid Midwestern guy. But yeah, I mean, he's. He's definitely very emotionally available and vulnerable and wears his heart on his sleeve. And, you know, we definitely had our. Some issues, like I said when we first got pregnant, and I think I freaked out a little bit with just how, like, real it got and how quick it was going, and poor guys stuck with me through thick and thin because I definitely put us both through it. But, you know, it's. It's been cool. I wasn't sure how he was going to react to all of this, but he's been nothing but supportive and he, you know, it's. I think it's cool for him to see all this play out and learn a little bit more about me and how I operate and. Yeah, I just. I can't speak highly enough about him.
Host (Ad)
Did you guys watch the show together.
Megan
After I watched it alone? Yeah. Yeah. I was like, I do not. I need to know what's coming. So if there's anything I need to prepare you for, I can. So, yeah, I woke up at like 1am yeah. And watched all of them by myself.
Freddie
No.
Megan
And he's. He's taking it all in stride. I think they're the only hard part for him to watch when I was. When I was talking about I. My sex life with Jordan.
Host (Ad)
But that could be tough. Yeah, that could be tough.
Megan
Yeah, he's. He's been great and we're able to laugh about it and.
Host (Ad)
And he's just supporting you through it.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
That's amazing.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
I love that it's really hard for guys to come in after something.
Megan
Yeah, well. Yeah. And I. Gosh, I remember that first conversation I had with him, telling him, because, you know, I didn't want to lead with that when we first met, but then as soon as I saw it was getting serious and this was, you know, really going somewhere, I was like, all right, you know, now's the.
Host (Ad)
Time to tell him.
Megan
Yeah. Yeah. And I think at the time, he didn't realize the extent of what was about to happen. Yeah. What. What this show even meant or, you know, what it was. I think he was a little concerned, like, oh, is this more of like a love island type thing, like the tacky make out, you know, whatever situation? And so I think he's relieved now having seen it and seeing how I carried myself and that I was, you know, showing up authentically and genuinely and. Yeah. And he's learning more about me.
Host (Ad)
That's beautiful. I love that. That makes me happy.
Megan
Yeah, I love that. Yeah, I know. It could have gone the other way.
Host (Ad)
Yeah, no, they can run. Trust me. Guys get. Guys are fast when they're scared, but he sounds like a keeper.
Megan
He is. Yeah.
Host (Ad)
So tell me, what. What did Paul think about the reunion and how did he feel about being there last year?
Megan
Yeah, he was excited to be there. He's been super supportive of all of this, and so I think it was fun for him to see a little, like, behind the scenes of. Of how this all comes together and. And what it looks like. So, yeah, I mean, he was excited. He. I asked him if he was comfortable with, you know, the little wave on camera, and. Oh, yeah, there was a little hesitation there at first. I think more so on my part, like, man, this. I. I'm blasting my whole life.
Host (Ad)
Your bubble. Yeah.
Megan
Popping your little bubble.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
And so do I really want to put all that out there again? But, yeah, he's been awesome, so he thought it was fun. And he did end up leaving early to go back on baby duty and relieve the babysitter. But, yeah, it was fun for him to. To be there and kind of see everything.
Host (Ad)
Is he with Bricks now?
Megan
Yeah. Oh, yeah, I know. So up until this trip, I hadn't left Brooks for more than, like, an hour and a half.
Host (Ad)
Does he have any other children?
Megan
No.
Host (Ad)
Okay.
Megan
This is your.
Host (Ad)
Your first together.
Megan
Yeah. So, yeah, this has been a test for me, but they're doing great.
Host (Ad)
Yeah, of course.
Megan
Of course. Learning to. To let go a little. Yeah. But mom guilt is real, I will tell you that.
Host (Ad)
Are you guys spending more time in la or are you out of here.
Megan
After we leave tomorrow?
Host (Ad)
Yeah. Yeah, I feel that. Get home.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
So at the reunion, Jordan mentioned that someone DM'd him trying to stir the pot and told him about your pregnancy news. Do you have any idea who the person was?
Megan
No. Jordan and I were talking, and it sounds like it like a burner account or so. Yeah, I have no idea. But it was funny. He. It was actually the day after or the day the first set of episodes got released, he. He actually called me to do kind of like a wellness check. Like, hey, how you feeling? Are you doing okay? Which I thought was very sweet of him. And then not more than 20 minutes later, he was like. Also, just so you know, like, I got this DM claiming you have a secret baby with Mike.
Host (Ad)
Oh, God.
Megan
And I was like, well, half of that's true.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
Half true. And so, yeah, just out of respect for Jordan, I. I Wanted the news to come from me, and if it was already getting leaked, I was like, oh. So called him back and. And told him, you know, I. I am a mom now. It's not Mike's. And, yeah, I think he was a little caught off guard, but very supportive and, like, appreciative that I told him ahead of time and not on camera.
Host (Ad)
I can see him being very supportive person. I met him a few weeks ago, and he's just so sweet and so kind. I could see him being very supportive, especially of you wanting to be in your mommy era. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's so sweet. Okay, so besides Jordan Casey was the only person from the cast who knew about your pregnancy. Would you say she's your closest friend on the show?
Megan
Yeah, I think between her and Ali, I mean, truthfully, I didn't really stay in touch with most people, and not for. I mean, they're all great in their own beings, but, you know, I came on for a very specific purpose, to find a partner and get married, and that didn't happen. And I. Yeah, I got a few close girlfriends out of it, but I think I'm moving on with my life.
Host (Ad)
I feel that so deep in my soul. It's, like, so unexplainable, because kind of like you said, you do go on the show for a very specific reason. Like, this is not love is best friends. This is not love is sorority. Like, you really go on, you hope to find your man, and then if you are lucky enough to have girlfriends, and it's a blessing, but that's not really the main. Yeah, well.
Megan
And, like, you know, I feel like my life is in such a different place now, and, you know, no shade to any anybody else, but I feel like they're still living in a lot of that.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
Even just dating in Denver, like, you know, that's not a part of my life anymore.
Host (Ad)
Yeah. And that's okay. Yeah, that is okay. So how has becoming a mom changed you?
Megan
Oh, my goodness. Um. So many ways. I. I think I said this last night at the reunion, but just selflessness. I mean, yeah, I. Not that I was selfish before, but I definitely, like, loved my alone, time traveling, dining out, doing all the things, and, you know, prioritizing Megan. Right. And when this little being comes into your world, it's just like, all that. He's number one.
Host (Ad)
I can't wait for that. It's like, I feel like I'm already there mentally.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
But I think physically I'm gonna just be like, yes.
Megan
And it's. I Mean, I was, you know, expecting all the love and whatever, but it's like, it's inexplainable just how special it is.
Host (Ad)
I can't wait. Okay, let's. Let's get into your season a little bit. So let's go a little bit back to your. The beginning of your love is blind journey.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
How did you even get on the show? Did you apply or did casting find you?
Megan
Yeah, I applied. I think it was. I just got out of a relationship in June of 24, and, you know, it was kind of like, damn, like, what do I keep doing wrong? Or like, why isn't this working for me? And I saw it was in Denver. You know, I'm from Denver, had hopes to get back there. And so I was like, you know what? I'm gonna throw my hat in the ring and just give this a go. And sure enough, it came to fruition.
Host (Ad)
Were you a fan of the show?
Megan
I mean, I watched it. Yeah. I'm not a huge reality TV person.
Host (Ad)
But you knew you were getting yourself into.
Megan
I did, yeah.
Host (Ad)
And you still did it.
Narrator/Announcer
I did. I know.
Megan
Yeah. Maybe against my better judgment, but I.
Host (Ad)
Think we're all like, hindsight, uh. Oh, what did I do? Okay, we have to talk about your nickname, Sparkle Megan. Who came up with it? How long have you been called that? And did you think it would end up being so polarizing?
Megan
No, I know. I'm, like, half regretting my decisions. Like, the whole world is calling you that. It has been my identity amongst my friends, so it's not, like. Certainly wasn't something I made up, which is what a lot of people are speculating. So I do have a group of friends in Denver that. There's two of us Megans. And yeah, I mean, I have bedazzled everything. Shoes, car, whatever. So those girlfriends call me Sparkle? Yeah, they don't say Sparkle Megan, but yeah. And then what a lot of people didn't see on the show was that there also was another Megan on our season. And so instead of going into the pods just saying, hey, I'm Megan.
Host (Ad)
W. That's confusing.
Megan
I was like, you know, this is gonna stand out for. For better, for worse. But I was also like, okay, this might be a good test and a good way to weed out, like, if these guys can't take a frigging joke like Sparkle Megan, then fuck off. No need.
Narrator/Announcer
You.
Host (Ad)
Yeah, because they were on my season. It was 2:00am oh, there was. Yeah. So me. And that's where you went. Yeah, I went with AD but that was also my nickname prior to.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
The show.
Megan
I mean, I get a little better than Sparkle. Yeah. But whatever.
Host (Ad)
But it. It suits you.
Megan
It does. It's cute. Well, yeah. I mean, everybody at, like, even outside of the friend group that actually does call me Sparkle, Megan. I mean, people at my gym just in what I wear and whatever, they're always like, sparkle is your brand. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, you are Sparkle.
Host (Ad)
Do you feel pressure to keep sparkling? Like, how long are you going to spark?
Megan
I know. I'll never not have Sparkle.
Host (Ad)
You'll never not shine.
Narrator/Announcer
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
We'll see. I'm just going to embrace it.
Host (Ad)
I think it'll age well. I truly do. You can't go wrong with Sparkle. I put a little, like, Sparkle.
Megan
I know.
Host (Ad)
That's all I. That's all I had to give today.
Megan
Yeah. I was surprised how pull. Like, people either, like, love it, or they're like, ew, cringe. I can't believe she called herself that.
Host (Ad)
I'm like, they'll be okay.
Megan
They'll say.
Host (Ad)
So Mike has been getting a lot of heat online for the comment he made to you about Luca having diabetes, and Jordan addressed it at the reunion and forgave him. But what was going through your head when he was talking about that and the pods?
Megan
I think a lot of things, and I'm. I'm trying to think back if I corrected him, because I know I'm even getting a little bit of heat, like, with the history on my dad having it. And I think initially I was taken aback. You know, obviously, I think there was a look of confusion on my face, like, what is he talking about? Type one, type two, are very different, and it's not, you know, health related or diet related. But then I also. I think I was just silent for primarily not revealing to him that I was also in a relationship or speaking with Jordan. You know, hindsight. Yeah. I wish I would have at least politely corrected him and. And said something, but. Yeah. And I think you see, you know, Mike subtly taking jabs at Jordan along the way, whether intentional or not. But I kind of just tried to let it go, let him say his piece and not give him too much. Too much energy back.
Host (Ad)
Yeah. You mentioned feeling like your dad brought Jordan into your life. Looking back, do you still feel that way?
Megan
Yeah, I do.
Host (Ad)
That was powerful to watch.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
You know, I'm. I'm huge on the universe, bringing me signs and my dad. And, you know, even though Jordan and I didn't end up working out, obviously I'm here Today, I've found love. I'm a mom. And I think none of that would have happened had this whole trajectory, you know, gone the way it did. So, yeah.
Host (Ad)
Jordan still speaks really highly of you. Like, he really adores you, and he's so sweet.
Megan
No, and I was. Yeah. I was so blown away by him at the reunion and actually just texted him before this, just saying what a class act I thought he was.
Host (Ad)
Yeah, yeah, he's so. He's very kind. After we filmed, he, like, talked to Ollie for, like, an hour after, and they just, like, bonding, and I was like, they locked themselves in the room. I'm like, what are you guys talking about? What's going on in there? And he still wouldn't tell me. I don't know what they were talking about.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
Anyway, so you met Luca and Luca's mom off camera.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
What were those experiences like?
Megan
They were good. I was super nervous going into meeting Skyler just because I. You know, I can imagine she was a little hesitant for obvious reasons. Just, you know, she didn't sign up for this experiment. Jordan did. And, you know, I wanted to make a good impression and make sure she was comfortable with me.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
Coming into her son's life. But, yeah, I think meeting her, it went super well, and she's awesome, and we were able to, you know, joke about things and both poke fun at Jordan. Yeah. Yeah. I think it was a relief to get her support, and. Yeah, that was nice. And then obviously, Luca, like I've said over and over, was. Is just a little angel.
Narrator/Announcer
Like, aw.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
Is there any contact there at all still?
Megan
Nope.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
I guess it wouldn't make much sense to be best friends now.
Megan
Yeah. And Jordan and I, like, immediately after we ended things, you know, I took about 10 days, just silence. And then I did reach out to him, and just because, you know, I was having a really hard time, as I imagine he was, too, and so kind of sent him a text letting him know, like, I'm here for you. I know only you and I know what we went through. And, yeah, just kind of trying to be supportive, and he ended up blocking me, which hurt, but I get it, you know?
Host (Ad)
Are you still blocked? No.
Megan
No.
Host (Ad)
You're unblocked now because you guys just spoke.
Megan
Okay. So, yeah, I kind of gave him his time and his space, and he finally reached out probably nine months or a year later, and.
Host (Ad)
Oh, wow.
Megan
Yeah. So we're. I feel like we're finally in a really good spot and cordial and supportive, and, you know, I'm sure he just needed some time to.
Host (Ad)
To process and digest it all. Yeah, yeah.
Megan
But, no, I haven't seen Luca since that time, which is fine, but sounds like he's doing really well.
Host (Ad)
Yeah. So from the pods, you knew your lifestyle was a bit different from Jordan's, but when did it really start to sink in, like, in the real world?
Megan
Yeah. So there were a couple days that Jordan and I had off camera, just on our own, and I think those were very telling for me.
Host (Ad)
Anything specific?
Megan
Just his demeanor was different and not in a bad way, I think. You know, obviously, when you're. When you're being filmed, like, you have no choice but to have conversations and, you know, be doing things like, you can't just sit on your phone.
Host (Ad)
Right, right, right.
Megan
Watch tv. So, yeah, we had two days where no cameras, no work, just us hanging out. In my mind, I'm like, oh, my gosh. Yes. Like, this is when we get to.
Host (Ad)
See each other for real and talk.
Megan
About the things we don't want on camera, aired out there and just have fun and whatever. And it was kind of the opposite. Like, we. He had told me in the pods he was very reserved, which I did. I don't typically love in a partner just because I feel like I'm somewhat introverted, too. Yeah. Sparkle. But, you know, I like somebody to help bring me out of my shell and, like, you know, be a little more lively and fun. And so those days, it was.
Narrator/Announcer
I don't.
Megan
I wouldn't say awkward, but just, like, quiet, a little uncomfortable. And it really made me question, like, are we really that compatible or, like. Yeah, yeah, it was hard. And then I think just that kind of highlighted our bigger lifestyle differences in general. And, you know, even I think I kind of went down a rabbit hole. Like, I really don't know what it's like to be living with Luca.
Host (Ad)
And there's a lot of factors.
Megan
A lot of factors.
Host (Ad)
Yeah. The real world, I feel like, hits so hard and fast that it's like you really are. It's like you are in a fantasy bubble.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
When you're in the pods and you're on that, like, vacation, it's such a fantasy. And then, like, when they say, like, real world, it is so, like, it's, like, almost a culture shock.
Megan
So. Yeah. Well, and it's like, it's also not. I mean, yeah, it's a real world, but it's anything but.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
I mean, the long hours and the expedited process. Yeah. So, yeah, it was. It was tough. And I think I was looking for a little more certainty and clarity going into a marriage, and I just ultimately wasn't able to get there. And, you know, I think it would have been one thing if it was just me and Jordan, and, you know, maybe it would have played out a little differently. But I just. Having Luca there and then he did get permission to be at the wedding if we had gone that far, and I was like, man, no way am I. Yeah.
Host (Ad)
Gonna put him through that.
Megan
Yeah. I am not getting up at that altar and breaking Jordan's heart. Luca's heart. Yeah. So, I mean, it was tough to call it off right beforehand, but you had to do the right decision.
Host (Ad)
Yeah. How did it make you feel, say, seeing Jordan say that he wishes he never introduced you to Luca?
Megan
That was tough.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
Yeah. I think that was probably the hardest thing to hear out of the whole season. But, you know, I. Being a mom now, I get it. And I'm sure he's just being protective over Luca, and, you know, I think Jordan kind of explained himself last night around what he meant by that. Not that, you know, he regrets introducing me. Anything against me. It was more just where he was at and just being so forthright with that, I guess. Or not forthright, but casual with introducing somebody into his son's life, which I understand.
Host (Ad)
Yeah. I'm sure your perspective on it is, like, completely different. Like, if you could put yourself in his shoes, being a mom that you are today, would you have made the moves that he made as far as introducing your son to someone that you've known for a few days?
Megan
No.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
And I, like, again, I respect Jordan for how he chose to approach this, and, you know, I'm so grateful I got to meet Luca and spend time with him, but, you know, that first meeting I had with Luca, off the bat, Jordan said, this is Megan. We're getting married. She's taking my last. Our last name. We're moving in together. And I was like, oh, God.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
Like, maybe just lead with, like, hey, this is my friend Megan. She's really important to me. We're gonna. I'd love to spread the three of.
Host (Ad)
Us to get to know each other.
Megan
Spend some time together.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
And I think, like, that would have. Not that it would soften the blow when it ended, but I just think that that's the approach I personally would have taken. But on the same hand, you know, I. We were very strong, and I think Jordan was obviously very confident that we were kind of end game. And you were engaged. I was, too, at the time.
Host (Ad)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But after your breakup, you were questioning if you were cut out to even be a mom. What are your feelings about that now that it's over a year later and you have Brooks?
Megan
Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I think there was just a lot of emotion around that relationship ending. And this experiment made me question a lot of things, and I think in that moment, you're trying to find answers. Like, what? You know, is this right for me? Am I ever going to get married? Am I ever going to have kids? Am I meant to do this? And would I even be good at it? And, yeah, I mean, that was. That was hard to watch back. But now that I have Brooks, I think it's clear now more than ever that I, like, was meant to be a mom, and. Oh, yeah. That's the best thing ever. Yeah.
Host (Ad)
Looking back, is there anything you would have done differently?
Megan
I don't think so. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I'm. I, again, I'm big into, like, everything happens for a reason, even some of the decisions I make, good or bad. So I don't. I don't think so.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
Yeah. Maybe not drink as much on Baja, but, you know, they didn't hold back.
Host (Ad)
On the alcohol on the season, did they?
Megan
No, they. I think they said we were the only cast. They had to take away booze, like, multiple times.
Host (Ad)
Oh, my gosh. You guys are turn, like, at every night.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
I love that for y'.
Megan
All. We have fun.
Host (Ad)
Yeah, I love that. Okay, let's talk a little bit more. Reunion. Okay. Tell me about how the reunion was for you. Just in general.
Megan
I mean, overall, good. I think it was good to finally, like, get some closure and, you know, like I said, I feel like Jordan was just a class act. And, you know, it was kind of funny to see some of the other couples where they're at still and just like, the he said, she said and the tension still. Oh, my gosh. I'm like, really?
Host (Ad)
I know. And then it's like you're like, I'm a mom.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
You know, like, you're, like, trying to.
Megan
And I've got bigger. Yeah. Better, not better, but just different things. Different things. Yeah. Yeah. So, yeah, Again, I think it was good to finally have that closure and put a bow on this and move on.
Host (Ad)
Start the moving on process. Yeah. So you saw Jordan last night, but had you seen him in person at all before that?
Freddie
Did you know Tide has been upgraded to provide an even better clean in cold water? Tide is specifically designed to fight any stain you throw at it, even in cold butter. Yep. Chocolate ice cream. Sure thing. Barbecue sauce. Tide's got you covered. You don't need to use warm water. Additionally, Tide pods let you confidently fight tough stains with new coldzyme technology. Just remember, if it's gotta be clean, it's gotta be Tide.
Megan
We saw each other maybe like a couple weeks after we ended things just in one of the kind of pod squad gatherings. And that one was a little awkward just cuz at that point he had blocked me. And then we see each other in person and I think I called him out for having blocked me. That's. And he was like, we don't need to be friends and.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
Which is fair.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
But no. So that last night was the first time I saw him in well over a year. Yeah.
Host (Ad)
How was that?
Megan
It was good.
Host (Ad)
Yeah?
Megan
Yeah. I mean he looked very handsome and I. I think even his suit compared to some of the other guys, I was like.
Host (Ad)
Yeah, good choice.
Megan
Yeah. Good job. Good job, Jordan.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
We also learned at the reunion that you dated Mike after you and Jordan broke up.
Megan
Dated is a loose term. We went on two dates.
Host (Ad)
Okay, well, tell me more. What happened.
Megan
Yeah. So Mike. Mike and I caught up after Jordan and I ended things. Um, and he was a little hot to trot to. To. To meet up. And I, I think I was a little more hesitant. Um, but you know, I think there was still some curiosity there. Like, you know, could this be something? And after those two dates, I pretty quickly learned the answer was no.
Host (Ad)
Yeah. Was there anything in particular?
Megan
No, I just don't think that chemistry was there for me. And I think, you know, Jordan and I, the breakup was so fresh and I. I don't know, part of me maybe was just trying to move on or put that behind me, but I quickly realized it was not.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
Not the time, not the right move. And you know, I think I had seen there was a lot of. I don't want to say incestual things with the other pod squad, but like people hooking up with other people. And I'm like, I don't. This is messy. Like I want to remove myself from that and heal and.
Host (Ad)
Yeah. But you feel like you got the closure on everyone. Yeah, yeah.
Megan
Yeah. And then Blake and I, similarly, we. We met up for a drink and I think it was more of an apology. Yeah. And. Well, I think for him, for him, I think he needed some closure just cuz he felt so bad with how that all played out and he's super nice guy and wish him nothing but the best, but yeah.
Host (Ad)
Okay, so what would you say was the most surprising moment for you at the reunion?
Megan
Honestly, like, my girl Casey, you know, she did a lot of things wrong. This. I wouldn't even say wrong, but, you know, poor girl is getting some heat. And I think I felt for her because I felt like she just became kind of the easy target. And, yeah, I don't know if that was surprising, but I just didn't realize. I feel like she was intertwined in everyone's story somehow.
Host (Ad)
A little bit of everything. Yeah.
Megan
But, yeah, I, I don't know. And then I think KB and Ed, I don't know, everybody just seemed to have some tension still and a little fire.
Host (Ad)
Yeah. That's the thing about the reunions. It's like you. You film the show, then you go on about your life for a full year, then it airs, and then you see the world talking about you, and then you're, like, reignited with this, like, anger that you haven't felt, this rage that you haven't felt for a year and that you haven't seen the person. And now it's just like.
Megan
Yeah, yeah.
Host (Ad)
Well.
Megan
And I think it was like, I don't know, it was. Some of it was hard to. To watch because I'm like, oh, my gosh. I, I. And I admire, like, Patrick just saying, like, you know, take some accountability. Say, say you're sorry, like, let's move on.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
But I think it's, you know, it's easier said than done to, to do that.
Host (Ad)
Yeah, for sure. Especially in the public eye.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
Yeah. Is there anything that was cut from the show that you wish the audience got to see?
Megan
I don't think so. I, I honestly think, like, Jordan and I's story was pretty accurately represented, you know, maybe a little bit just around the reasoning behind me ending things, but I also think it's pretty clear just how different our lifestyles were.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
And then this wasn't necessarily cut, but, you know, I think it would have been kind of cool to have the interactions with Luca on there, had the circumstances allowed. But, no, I mean, I think I was pleasantly surprised because I, you know, going into this, I was very nervous. Just, you never know how. How your story is going to be spun or if they are, you know, it is going to be sliced and diced in one way or another. But, you know, again, I, I showed up for this very authentically, and I think that shows. And Jordan, too. Yeah.
Host (Ad)
So I think that's the easiest way to get the most accurate edit of yourself, is to be Authentic.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
And it's so hard when a lot of people go in with the character of who they want to be or how they want to be portrayed. And then like, I feel like it puts a lot on production to be like, well, I'm trying to splice this up to make you look like.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
Who you are and you're 12 different characters.
Megan
So I think. Yeah.
Host (Ad)
When you come on authentic, it's just an easy.
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
Run of show. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Megan
So I feel good.
Host (Ad)
What would you say was your biggest takeaway from Love is Blind?
Megan
Oh, man. I mean, there are a lot of things, I think just learning a ton about myself and communicate. How to communicate in a relationship and what is really important to me and my non negotiables and. Yeah. And just, you know, I always knew this going in, but I think now more than ever, like learning to trust my gut and my intuition and that she will never, ever steer me wrong and. Yeah.
Host (Ad)
Are you happy?
Megan
Yeah, yeah, very happy.
Host (Ad)
And you're loving mommy life?
Megan
I am, yeah.
Host (Ad)
Yeah, I love it. Every time I bring a love, you're like gleaming.
Megan
It's. I honestly, like. And even Paul, you know, he's. He knows my lifestyle and I. I'm the first to admit I can be very selfish. And I think even with Jordan that, you know, I wasn't willing to give up certain things. And I think Paul even expressed some concern when I. When we were pregnant. Like.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
I don't know. But now, like being a mom, it just, it changes everything and. Yeah, I think it's brought me down to earth a little bit.
Host (Ad)
I wish you brought him.
Megan
I know. He like literally just went down, so.
Host (Ad)
I was like, yeah.
Megan
I don't want to wake him. He's so sweet though.
Host (Ad)
Yeah. Did he do good? Did you guys fly?
Megan
Yeah.
Host (Ad)
Did he do good on the plane?
Megan
Pretty good, yeah. We had a little meltdown like in the car, so then he wore himself out and just like zonked out on the plane. And then on the decent, he got a little fussy, but not bad.
Host (Ad)
I'm not looking forward to traveling with.
Megan
Yeah, you'll do. I'll give you more. All the tips. Yeah.
Host (Ad)
What is your best piece of mommy advice for anyone watching and looking for some advice?
Megan
Well, I'm gonna give you a somewhat non serious one or not non serious, but get a night nanny, you know, if you have the means that it's.
Host (Ad)
Already in the books. Yeah, got it. I love my sleep. I can't even explain literally.
Megan
Game changer, I think. Otherwise, just, you Know, realizing that even if you have a plan or, like, have something in mind, like, don't beat yourself up. Beat yourself up if it changes. Because, like, I told myself, like, I'm not gonna swaddle him. I'm not gonna use passies. You know, we're gonna do X, Y and Z. And, like, that all goes out the window. And I think it's easy to. Yeah. To. To get. Be hard on yourself for things not going to plan, but, yeah, I just go with the flow.
Host (Ad)
Yeah, that's. That's pretty much the lean on your.
Megan
Yeah. Lean on your support system. Don't be afraid to ask for help. I think that was one of my biggest challenges because I'm. I am very type A and, like, I have a hard time asking for help, but, like, you know, I ended up having to have an emergency C section, and so I wasn't able to get up, even walk up and down the stairs. And so I really had to lean into not only Paul, but my family, my friends. So, yeah, don't be afraid to ask for help. I mean, because you'll need it.
Host (Ad)
You're two and a half months post and you're just, like, still up and moving. So that's a great sign.
Megan
If anything, like, you know, I was. I did have to have the emergency C section, but my recovery was pretty smooth. And so if anything, like, Paul had to remind me, like, cool it.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
Take it easy.
Host (Ad)
Yeah.
Megan
Because the last thing you want is.
Host (Ad)
To rupture something, right.
Megan
And. And push yourself back. So.
Host (Ad)
Okay, noted.
Megan
But, yeah, and lean into the baby snuggles. The best.
Host (Ad)
I can't wait. It was so lovely to have you here. I'm so grateful. I know you've had a whirlwind of the past few months, weeks, and even days. I really, really appreciate you stopping by. What's the Reality? And giving us the reality. And sparkling bright like a diamond. But, yeah, thank you.
Megan
Thank you.
Host (Ad)
It was really nice having you.
Megan
Yeah, thanks for having me.
Host (Ad)
Yes, of course. And now let's get ready to be scared, because our favorite funeral director is back. Freddie is here with one of his famous ghost stories. So grab your snacks, dim the lights, maybe cuddle up with someone, or keep the lights on if you're like me. Because things are about to get spooky.
Narrator/Announcer
Most of you know me as Freda from Love is Blind and Perfect Match. But away from the cameras, I'm Freda, the funeral director. I've spent years standing between the living and the dead, and I've experienced things that you could never understand. But maybe some things aren't meant to be understood. Because in my world, love isn't blind. And what I've seen, I can't see. Maybe some souls, they can't move on to keep searching for that perfect match. Oh, so you found me. You want to know a ghost story? Okay, well, come closer. Alright, not that close. Behind my eyes are things that most people can't even imagine. Whispers of the unseen and shadows that pass that others only see. Emptiness. I carry memories that refuse to fade and secrets that my mind can't release. And I've got visions that sit on the edge of reality. A few years ago, I was in this very cemetery and I was inspecting a grave for an upcoming burial. Now that's something that's very common in my industry. Making sure that the ground's safe and making sure that everything's in place. But that night, it felt different from the start. The air, it was unnervingly still. Silent somehow. The usual sounds of rustling of the leaves and distant traffic. It was. It was missing. It was as if the whole world was holding its breath. The light was fading fast. That eerie half light just before dusk. My torch, it cut a weak beam across the headstones. I did my checks and I made sure that everything was in place. And then I saw him. A man stood at the far end of the cemetery, near the alder plots. I didn't see him arrive and there was no sound of movement before he got there. He wore old boots and old clothing and a thick wool jacket which was far too warm for the mild evening. His face was pale and his eyes were piercing. I remember thinking he looked out of time somehow. As he approached, he nodded and he said, evening. His voice was low and rough. His accent sounded local but old fashioned. Almost forgotten. I told him that I was inspecting the grounds for a service later on in the week. Always good to see the cares still being taken, he said. Not many left that do it proper. He mentioned how long he'd worked in this cemetery and he said that the ground was soft after the last rain. I remember asking for his name just before he left. And Bert, he said, my name's Bert. I've been here longer than most. I thanked him and I said, you know, it's really nice meeting somebody who knows the cemetery so well. It's so old. He gave me a small nod and then disappeared amongst a row of old headstones. I didn't think much of it at the time, but now I remember it was quite odd how I didn't hear his footsteps fade away. The next morning, I mentioned the encounter to one of the ground staff. They looked puzzled. You spoke to who? Bert, I said. Bert. He's worked here a long time, he said. The groundsman stared at me for a few moments, and he looked puzzled, and he said, no one's been out here for a few weeks, and we don't even have a Bert that works here. I laughed it off at first, thinking maybe he's misheard. But then he frowned. Funny thing, he said. There was a gravedigger here years ago. Burt Henshaw. Worked the cemetery all his life. Died in the late 70s, 78, maybe. He laughed at me and he said, looks like you've met his ghost. I didn't answer, but I remember feeling a chill run up the back of my neck. I went back to the site later on that day in broad daylight, and there wasn't a sign of anybody. No footprints, no tools, nothing disturbed. But when I walked past the old part of the cemetery where I first seen him, I noticed an old headstone sunken into the ground. The inscription was barely readable. It was covered in moss, and I could barely work out what the name was, But I could just work out Burt Henshaw. 1902 to 1978. I hope you like my story. Whether you believe it or not, that's down to you. I think it's about time I left. It's getting kind of weird hanging around cemeteries at this time of night.
