I feel good. I'm, like, a little nervous. I can't lie because, you know, a few months away from the mic and it feels like 10 years. But I'm happy to be here and I'm happy you guys are like, it's like family. So I get to talk to family and it's not too scary.

Yeah. So it's been about a year. So catch me up. What have you guys been up to?

[Taylor]

Wow. A lot has happened in the last year for us. I think the biggest adjustment for both of us has been being in the spotlight. Like, prior to the show, that wasn't really something we had to navigate, but now as a married couple, we're navigating it. So that's been a lot of high highs and a lot of low lows, but mainly good. Otherwise, we bought a house, so we did move.

Thank you. We're fairly close to Daniel's parents now and closer to mine, so that was a big move. Daniel surprised me with the dog, so we have a puppy now.

We're traveling. We're going to Japan. We've got a lot coming up, too, to look forward to, so. Yeah, it's been a. It's been a whirlwind of a year, but all good things, I would say.

No, I do have a lip. I did get a lip tattoo, but it was not a food. It was with the Minnesota Vikings, and so that was kind of fun. But it's there. I don't know. You can see it.

Yeah, I just keep it buried deep down.

[Taylor]

Yeah. Oh, my God. So I know you guys had your vow renewals last May.

[Daniel]

Oh, yeah.

We both have, like. We both have pretty big families, and so that was a big part of it. We also are just so fortunate to have the friends that we do in our life, and that was quite the event.

Yeah. Luckily, my mom kind of took the reins on the planning of it all because we had a lot going on ourselves. But we had it at the same venue that we got married at on the show. So it was nice because they knew who we were, and we knew who they were, and it was just like, a comfortable space that could fit everybody.

And how do you guys know 400 people?

[Daniel]

Yeah, it is a lot of people. We. We both have big families, so.

[Taylor]

Huge families.

[Daniel]

Yeah. My mom's the youngest of nine. Your mom has eight siblings, and your dad has a lot of siblings.

[Taylor]

Six. Yeah.

[Daniel]

Yeah. Just a lot of. A lot of family, but a lot of friends as well, which is. We're very grateful for.

Okay. Speaking of friends, were there any Love is blind season 8 people there many?

[Taylor]

Yes.

[Daniel]

Yeah, there were pretty big group. Again, it's. We're grateful to have their support, too.

I think. I don't know, maybe being the only married couple, it was kind of. I don't know. It's nice to have the support of everybody else on the cast, but, yeah, there was a lot there. I don't. I don't remember how many, but yeah,

[Taylor]

there was a decent amount. We're so fortunate, like Daniel said, to, like, what a unique life experience that we all went through and to have not only friends from other seasons like yourself and other people that we can talk to about it, but then people in our own environment or own. What am I. I almost said climate.

What is happening?

[Daniel]

Our own home, our own city.

[Taylor]

Yeah. Like close to home that we can also have friendships with and grow with. It's pretty great.

So amazing. So you guys mentioned earlier your new addition to your family. Baby Sunny. Tell me about him. And what's it like having a new addition?

[Daniel]

I was gonna say little Sunny, but it's big. He's a big boy. He's great.

He.

[Daniel]

He had some hip issues early on, but thankfully we got that figured out. He had a small surgery, which was tough, but he's doing okay. The surgery worked, and so now he's. He's just.

[Taylor]

Yeah, he's thriving. He thinks he's a lap dog like most big dogs sneak into on top of you.

[Daniel]

He also thinks he's still a puppy. Yeah, like a little, but like a 20 pound thing now. He's like 90 pounds.

Yeah, I want to meet him. I want to meet him.

But, yeah, he, like, gets so excited that he pees when I come home.

[Daniel]

And Daniel, Sonny, not me.

I have yet to experience that excitement from Daniel, so.

I think. Yeah, I think. I think it's important to know that, like, you know, once you get. Once you get married, like, the work doesn't stop. You know, it, like, it continues on. And it's a. It's a constant thing that you have to put time and effort and care into. And I think I knew that going into it, but I think now Experiencing it and being married for almost a couple years now, we've seen it play out, and so I think I would just reiterate that to pod. Daniel?

Marriage advice? Yeah, I would just. I. I'd say patience is key. Like, we're both still growing and learning and doing life for the first time ourselves. So just having, like, a bit more patience for not only yourself, but your partner as well, and move as a team, because it's the best way to do it.

So relatable. I've been married for a few minutes now, and that advice is so relatable. I really. I can feel that, like, patience is. Yeah, you need patience. Especially dealing with a man. You need patience.

[Taylor]

Yes.

You probably need more patience than I do.

Just a little bit. Just a little bit. Before we get into the love is blind of it all, I think it's important to acknowledge everything that's been going on in your city, in Minneapolis recently. How are you two doing and feeling with everything that's going on?

[Taylor]

Who?

[Daniel]

Yeah, that's a big. That's a big question.

[Taylor]

Heavy. Very heavy. I feel like I've been crying for three weeks, four weeks.

[Daniel]

Just feels very. Like you said, heavy. But that's just, like, the feeling, especially living in Minneapolis and, like, having it be our community and, like, seeing all the stuff on the news and social media and being like, oh, that's our backyard. Like, you know, those are our neighbors. And so it's definitely a feeling of heaviness and just sadness and kind of, like, maybe even helplessness a little bit. Like, as much as we can, you know, do with our platform and as much, you know, love and support as we can try and spread, it still just feels like such a daunting thing. So I think, you know, we're doing good. Obviously, we're trying to help how and when we can, but, yeah, we're hoping that it starts to wind down a little bit soon here. So appreciate you bringing that up. It's obviously a big. A big thing not only for us and our Minnesota community, but, you know, there are eyes all over the country and the world seeing what's going on, too.

You guys shared your thoughts on the situation on your social media. Why did you feel like it was important to speak out?

[Taylor]

You know, we. We both felt this, like, desire and want to speak out. And throughout all of the sadness and tragedy and brutality that's happened in our state, we have still tried to put out anything remotely positive surrounding the situation. So when we did talk about it, our goal was to address what was happening, but to also just try and put out resources for people just to make it, like, any bit positive, I guess, than the normal, like, rage scrolling that we see on all of our socials. And we got really, like, amazing resources and feedback, and then we got really, really hurtful feedback and comments. So I think that no matter what you say, it's never enough or it's never the right thing for everybody. But it was important to us that we acknowledge that we do love our neighbors and we are going to help where we can. And we've been doing that on and off socials.

So that's amazing. Y' all keep fighting the good fight. Honestly, like you said, like, I can imagine the hate and, like, the mean comments that you're getting, but like you said, there are a lot of people watching, so just keep. Keep fighting the good fight. Are there any, like, organizations or charities that you guys want to spotlight for our listeners?

[Taylor]

Absolutely. I spent some time volunteering with a coffee shop in Minnesota. It's called Annabelle House. They receive donations for immigrant families living in fear. And then we packaged up 71 boxes of fresh food, snacks for kids, lunch, like, anything that a family could need. And they're being both delivered and picked up from families that honestly are scared to leave their houses right now. So that was. That's probably been my favorite that I've been a part of since everything has happened in Minneapolis. So Annabelle House, for sure. Yeah. Veep is another, like, really good grocery donation. They take in groceries and they have both, like, a food shelf and delivery options. So we found. So we've met so many people, too. Cross Services. Right?

I love it. So Sarah and I, from season 8 went to donate Blood. Like, we've just been, like, racking our brains of how to make the world a better place. So we're trying.

Let's dive into the craziness of the first nine episodes of Love is Blind season 10. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around what I just watched, but I need to know your initial thoughts. How are you feeling about the season so far?

[Taylor]

I'm obsessed with this season.

[Daniel]

Yeah, we like it.

[Taylor]

I think it's so good. And we've only seen nine episodes, and I am like, what? I have to wait how long to See the rest. I need to know what goes on.

[Daniel]

Yeah.

[Taylor]

Yeah.

[Daniel]

It's kind of got, so far, a little bit of everything. Kind of like, there's. There's definitely couples we're rooting for. There's, like, certain people that I'm like, dude, like, what are we doing here? So, I don't know. There's. There's all the different aspects of just watching, like, people try and navigate this experiment. And so it's. It's very interesting. And obviously, having lived through it, it adds a different perspective, which is always interesting to, like, watch and think about. But, yeah, we love it so far.

[Taylor]

Yeah, it's got everything you need. Like, it's got the drama, it's got the love, it's got the friendships, the family dynamics. Like, it's all there.

Do y' all feel, like, a little competitive since it's another Midwestern state?

[Taylor]

No, I think that's maybe why I like them so much too. It's like, I just feel like I went to high school with most of them, and, yeah, they just feel familiar to me for some reason.

[Daniel]

So, yeah, I think we, like, we'd love to see the love stories play out and see people get married and join the married family. And, you know, we're very competitive people, so maybe a little bit is like, you know.

[Taylor]

Yeah, yeah.

[Daniel]

But it's all love, and we. We're just, like, hoping for the best.

Okay, so episode one, when Jess or Jess. Jess is one of my favorites, but when Nick and Vanessa are talking to them and Tyler says, jesus died single, so I don't need to die single. Iconic. Honestly. Love her. From the show.

My favorite couple in the pods was Vic and Christine. I think that they're just so wholesome. They connect on so many deep levels. Like, I feel like it speaks a lot, too, when they show the depth of what they're covering in their conversations. It's not just surface level. And I just am rooting for them so hard. I really hope that they make it.

[Daniel]

Yeah, no, I really like them too. Yeah. You know, it's interesting again, having gone through it, you kind of look for certain types of maybe personalities or conversations that happen or topics or, you know, things that people align on or don't and stuff that we've seen, like, oh, if you don't align on this, like, might not work out. And so you try and look for those, like, commonalities between these couples, and it seems like there's a few couples, or at least, you know, one or two that are pretty, like, rock solid on what their values and morals are, and so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Obviously, we hope for the best, but, yeah, we like them.

I just. I wrote down all the couple's names, so I didn't forget. No, I mean, I. I like. We liked Bri and Connor. Trying to think if there's anything like, specifically. I always think it's fun watching, like, the guys bond in the lounge because, like, that we were just, like, growing out in the lounge. But, yeah, it felt like a good balance, too, of just like. It never felt like it was dragging on. It was just like, oh, you know, the. The pod episodes are great.

You know, moving into the tropical getaway.

Like, I love that they only had three episodes of the pods. Yeah. Let's make that one six episodes for our season. And it was like, I felt it was very drawn out.

Yeah. So I loved how fast this season moved.

Speaking of the pods, were you surprised when Tyler never came back to talk to Kevin? And then when Kia ended up choosing

herself, I think Kia made the right decision. Honestly, I don't. I don't think he was ready for marriage. I think that a lot of people maybe. And that this is for every season, people sign up thinking that they're ready, but once you're in it and, like, actually falling through with it, I think it's a different ball game. So I think she was right to choose herself. Honestly, I'm proud of her for doing that. I also think that, you know, it's a very emotional time in the pods, and there's a lot of factors that play into that experience. You know, you can't talk to your family or friends. You feel a little isolated at times, I'm sure. And she felt disrespected. So I honestly, I'm gonna always. You protect your peace, however that is. And if that means not going back,

then, yeah, I just. I just feel like there was just too much confusion when after calling somebody your girlfriend, like, you can't be, like, can you be my girlfriend? You. You commit to being boyfriend, girlfriend. And then all of a sudden you're so confused what the hell was going on.

But yeah, I think there's used to this phrase when I was dating was like, if you're confused for any reason, it's a no. And that is like all I've ever gone off of since I've heard that. And yeah, I think that speaks to her experience with him.

I just felt like Kevin didn't seem like he's ever been in a situation where he was, you know, presented with the option to choose. And so he just felt very overwhelmed

and given the option to choose. Then they can also talk to each other in the lounge. Like, it's not like, oh, this girl doesn't know this girl. There's no way.

They really quick. And you try not to like talk about who you're dating and who you know, you're in these love triangles with. But after like day five or six and now you're madly in love with somebody you know across the wall, then you come back and you're like, we have to talk about it. Yeah, I think that like their upbringings were so relatable and they that obviously going into the experiment you hope to find someone that you can bond with in a deep way, but actually like finding that person through the wall and it happens. It plays out that way, I think is so rewarding for them and you could. I just felt like, I don't know, I meant to be like star crossed in my opinion.

Yeah, there's almost like a level of emotional maturity I guess that came through the screen. Like again, I know we only see a small portion of everything that happens, but even then it was like, okay, like they seem like they're both ready and in that mental space to be willing to say yes at the altar. And I hope that they. Yeah, I hope they do.

I would put my money on them. I think they might get married.

I hope so. I hope so. I was curious though, are we like, why didn't they go to Cabo.

I just. I feel like, you know, Brittany several times has verbalized, like, physical touch is one of her love languages. And it seems to be a revisited conversation that he's just. He's hearing maybe, but not willing to, like, put in action. And a huge thing of being married is listening to what the other person needs. And even if it's a lot for you to do or annoying for you to figure out, you try and do that to make them happy. So I just. I feel like he knows what he wants and she knows what she wants, but if they're to make it work together, I think would seem difficult based on what we've been shown.

[Daniel]

Yeah, just, like, communication issues, which is, like, if all you've built your, you know, emotional foundation of your relationship is by communicating through a wall, you would hope that the communication piece of your relationship is strong. And it seems like there have just been times where there's been miscommunications or lack of communication and so red flags a little bit. But again, we only see a little bit. A little part of it. But that's just that. That's my unfiltered thought.

I also loved her family. They were so sweet.

Oh, yeah, they're great.

Yeah. Loved them.

I have a little bit of tea that I feel like has been brewing in my. Because I'm just like, if I was Devo and Britney came through those doors, I would be so grateful and so happy and so excited, and I would show her. Like, I just think that he won the lottery with her, and she just seems so kind and so sweet. And I know he's going through a Lot, like, with his grandfather passing, like, that's really, really sad. I can't imagine going on a vacation after, you know, losing someone and then trying to, like, fall in love. It's a lot going on. I get it. But it's also, like, she deserves to not have her experience ruined because he can't get out of his head. Yeah, but that's just my little tea. I don't really know too much, but yeah. Yeah, that's just my little tea. She deserves the world. She deserves the world.

I identify with so much of how Britney feels from previous relationships of my own. Like, how you just want to feel wanted by your person. So for her to feel insecure when they're in the very beginning stages of their relationship, um, it makes me sad. Yeah. For her.

Yes. So I think the big thing is the kid conversation, right? Like, yeah, you know, it's. I mean, that's a huge thing. Like. Yeah, because for me, I. That would have been a deal breaker for me. And it's nothing against her. It's just that for me personally, that's something that's important to me. And so the idea. And it's just my opinion, the idea of, you know, getting married in hopes that she'll someday want, you know, decide, like, hey, I'm ready to have kids.

You can't. Yeah.

[Daniel]

Like, you can't get married based on that.

[Taylor]

Right.

[Daniel]

Like, it just is what it is. Like, I. Maybe she would. Maybe she'd get to the point of. Of saying, hey, you know what? I'm ready to have a kid. I want to do this. And that'd be great. But if, you know, what happens if she's just still in that feeling of not wanting to have a kid, and then, you know, he's kind of in a tough spot. So I just. Yeah, we like them together. And. But I think that's just such a huge. A huge, like, red flag for.

Yeah, it's just, like, also find someone that wants to have kids if you know that kids is that important for you. Don't propose to the girl that's unsure.

And then try to, like, talk about it the whole time. Like, to me, that just feels so insane. Like, that's literally the foundation of your relationship. Do you want kids or do you not want kids? Yes or no. And if someone's a maybe and you're 100, maybe that's not your. I don't know.

Well, and even maybe like the real world, if you have like a year or two years to kind of figure out together. But in this. In this, like, experiment, I just.

I don't think he probably should have proposed in the first place.

I think that I. I respect both of them immensely. I. I think that regardless of. Maybe this conversation in the pods wasn't something that they dove as deep into as they intended to in that time period. Now they're being very intentional about their conversations outside of the pods and even, like, her family conversation about it and his family conversation. I mean, she has valid concerns with not knowing her family's history medically and stuff, but I do think that they're moving very maturely about it in their conversations now that they're out of the pods. It's tough because we only see, like, you know, such a sliver of it, but it is a huge foundational piece to a long lasting relationship is the kid conversation. So.

Yeah, I hope they figure that out because they are cute together.

Yeah. I. I think that I. I love them together. I don't like the last portion that we see of the group meet up.

In general, though, I think they're really cute. I think that, you know, she always says she talks a lot, and Connor acknowledges that and seems to. To, like, love her even more for it. So I. I don't have anything negative about their connection or anything that I can think of that would stop it.

Their personalities seem to mesh well. Like, she. She's more talkative. He seems maybe a little more reserved. Yeah. So I think they. I think they work well. I think if he was someone who was like, had to. Had to be the one talking, had to get his voice, you know, they would clash a little bit on that. But, yeah, I don't think we really have anything.

This house tour Was hilarious.

Oh, yeah.

What a house. The whole. Every room was a bachelor room. Like, every single part of that house was just, like, frat.

Let's just not judge them too hard on that just yet. Okay. A keg in the backyard is pretty cool.

She's talking to her mom. She's like, mom, there was a Christmas tree. There was a keg. It was terrible.

Yes, they're an interesting one, it seems like. I mean, and again, this is just what we see, but it seems like the physical aspect of it is just at the forefront always. You know, you hope that behind the scenes, they're having these emotional, you know, these deep conversations of things that really matter and the physical side matters, too. But if you're only focusing on that, you know.

[Taylor]

Yeah. I think, like, having been a part of the show before, we pay extra attention to which conversations are left in the show itself. And even in the pods, I felt like the majority of the conversations they showed us of theirs was even, like, talking about sex and, like, the. The tension. The sexual tension between them through the. Through the wall. So to focus on that. And now we're seeing it kind of play out outside of the pods, where it seems to be a point of contention from time to time for them. I don't know.

Yeah. Seems like he wasn't fully open on his past relationship history either. Like, he would answer things if she asked him about it, but it wasn't like, hey, this is.

He always has an answer. One thing about Alex, he has an answer for everything.

And it's always, like, a guesstimate. Yeah. No, it's always, like, maybe September. It's just never, like, definite, which always

So they were actually. I wrote down here in the pods, watching them. I said they were my first prediction for, like, getting married.

Yeah. Okay. Yeah, that panned out.

Yeah. I mean, we liked them. You know, it's like, I. I don't know. I always kind of. He's an interesting one to me because I feel like I know guys like him, and I kind of clocked it right away of just being like, I'm kind of unsure about this guy. About how he's just. What is. I don't know how he's presenting himself. I don't know. We were rooting for him, but, man, that was a. We were all rooting for conversation.

I will say I'm obsessed with Jessica. Yeah.

She's.

She's so cute.

She's so sweet, so smart.

She deserves the world on a gold platter, so. And she's a doctor. Like, she was literally saving people's lives every day.

Like, stunning. And I just. Okay, let's talk about. It's not the kids versus no kids argument whether somebody goes to Pilates or not. Like, I just. Like, of course, if you want someone that works out and is fit and healthy, but by no stretch of the word is that woman unattractive, unhealthy looking. Like, I just. For me, I can't wrap my brain around where that all came from. And I'm not in bed with her, so I don't know what they have going on there, but for me, I'm just like, she's so smart, she's so beautiful, so ambitious. Has so much going for her. And he's going to, like, whittle it all down to, she doesn't do Pilates five times a week.

Yeah.

[Daniel]

Yeah. Like, isn't that the whole reason why you go through this experiment is to, like, figure out what really matters and what doesn't? And, like, how much of what actually matters is not anything physical? And, like, I don't know. That was such a. Like, oh, we were sick.

It was meant to be.

Yeah. It was just not, I don't know,

the last, like, however long that was. Their breakup into the group meetup consistently. My job was, like, on the floor. And then I looked over at Daniel and his job was on the floor. Like, we were both shocked by what was coming out of Chris's mouth.

Ali was upset.

He was, like, screaming at the tv.

He's like, I know you're not talking. Like, he was so mad. He's like, you have no room to be judging anybody's looks. Like he was upset.

The other thing, it's not like. It's not like Jess, like, was talking this big game about how she works out every day.

She was, you know, very honest. She was very honest about, like, I'm not gonna go running with you.

It's not what it. Like, and so I don't know. I don't know where this expectation and,

like, it's like he felt bamboozled when she was just straight up about it from the jump. And, you know, in the. In the. On the getaways, he's like saying in an otf, like, she's the most beautiful person I've ever seen. And suddenly, once we're home now, it's like, no, actually, I'm not attracted.

And then the way he was, like, going on about it at the, like, cast meetup was just disgusting.

There's something to say out loud.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think it speaks. Like, it's one thing if you're not. If you've decided not to be with that person anymore, but then in such a public setting and way to treat the situation like that in front of her, like, zero respect for her as a human being or her feelings. Like, if you went through this process with her and got to the point of proposing, you should clearly care about her feelings in some way, shape or form and have the self awareness to reel it in for the camera part

of it, but self awareness for sure.

Now let's talk Jordan and Amber.

Jordan and Amber. We. I like them. I like. At first I was kind of trying to figure out, like, what do I think about these?

They're such a wild card. Like, I like them too. Yes. No, they're so wholesome.

And I mean, having the. Having her having a daughter is obviously a huge piece of that. And, like, for him.

Yeah.

You know, I think they're hand. They seem to be handling that part of it well. But that's a big. For both of them. That's a big, like, daunting, I don't know, like, decision.

Yeah.

[Daniel]

For both of them. And so I hope it works out for them. You know, I think he seems like he'd be a good dad, but he's so sweet.

I feel like he's probably one of the most genuine guys on the show. Like, I feel like he has given his personality and who he is, like, straight up front. And he's been so kind and so sweet and just so jolly, like, and just himself. And I think that allows Amber to open up and just be herself. I feel like they are the most, like, real. Knowing what we know in the pods that everyone doesn't get to go. Like, a lot of people get engaged, and I think this is the first season where everyone that got engaged got to go. Like, what? Got to be featured, I guess.

Okay. We had a few theories. Our first one was default. Like, someone had a passport issue so they couldn't leave the country. Our second one was maybe they weren't. Like, Daniel and I weren't gonna go to Honduras for our season. We were gonna go home and figure it out. So we were thinking maybe they decided they didn't want to do the getaway. And then last minute, we're like, actually, we do want to keep doing this on the camera. I don't know. Did we have more theories than that?

I mean, I. We were trying to think of just what possibly because. Because for our season, there were. They followed five couples to Honduras, and so, yeah, seven got engaged. Yeah. And stuff got gay. So they. But they just didn't follow.

That was like, the same with our season as well.

All right, let's talk Mexico. What were your thoughts on Bri? Thinking that the mixers were too surface level and that one. And wanting to have, like, multiple additional conversations with their ex, Chris.

Yeah, I thought that was interesting. Obviously, everyone is going through their own journey with, you know, this experiment, but I don't know. For me, it's like, I. I don't know because I dated the other girls that were, you know, on our season that were at so messed up, that were in Honduras, but I didn't have any desire to, like, have any continuing conversations or, like, close the doors there. So for me, it wasn't a big deal. But, like, I don't know. I couldn't tell if it was something where she needed, like, closure from Chris or if it was just her wanting to, like, hey, we've built this strong connection with each other. We just need to have one more conversation in person to just. I don't know. It was interesting.

Yeah. It just didn't give closure. It gave. She wanted, like, him to want her. Like.

I don't know. I think she just knew that she would be like. I guess, like, because you fall in love behind the wall, and, like, when you see someone, you kind of want them to be like, oh, my God, like, she's so hot. Like, I think she wanted more of that from Chris, which she didn't get

in that moment, I. I think, too. I had started on it earlier, but then I was jumping ahead. But the group meetup with Chris, when he's, like, actually saying, like, I wish we were together, Basically, I just didn't like that she entertained it for so long. I think that the conversation just didn't need to happen. I think I was putting myself in those shoes, and I would have been like, I would have walked away 10 minutes.

But that was the conversation. That's what she wanted in Mexico. Like, she wanted that.

Yeah, it was, it was strange. But I don't know, I try and, like, put myself and, like, have some, like, understanding.

And so I, like, I don't know, maybe I shouldn't do that.

I mean, personally, I couldn't wait to take shots and have fun with everybody on a shallowish level, because it was so intense. Like, leading up to it, it's like, let's have some fun with this. Like, this is a once in a lifetime experience that we're all going to be here on vacation together. Like, let's have fun.

Do we think that Devonte and Brittany's communication issues in Mexico is something that can be fixed?

[Taylor]

I was hopeful that it would be, but I think it's still an issue while living together.

So I don't feel like there's been a lot of progress from what we've seen on the show.

[Daniel]

I mean, I think it can be fixed as long as both people are willing to put the work into it. Like, they, they're clearly very different. And so for it to work, like, they both have to give a little bit. Yeah, but that's a lot of work. That's a lot of work in a normal dating scenario. That's. It's that much more work when it's condensed into a few weeks. And so I, I, we're hopeful, but we'll see.

Because it was, it. I don't know. The biggest thing to me was he was like, yeah, you know, my typical type is dark features and brown. You know, it just, they just started exactly describing without saying, like, hey, you're my typical type. It's like, just say it if that's what you're trying to say,

and I'll like, your typical type has not worked for you in the past. And that's the whole point of this show, is that regardless of your attraction, maybe physically, that emotional connection is so strong and deep that you try to figure that out once you're together in person. So I. Personally, I would have been fuming had Daniel had that conversation with another girl on our getaways. So I did not appreciate that. I think that Alex wants a serious, committed relationship, but I don't think he's ready for that, to be honest.

[Daniel]

I think the. I mean, the fact that a lot of their conversation is centered around the physical piece of it, and then, like, a big hurdle for him is the physical p. It's. It's just like. I don't know. It's a pretty big red flag for me, you know? Again, the idea is that you've built this strong connection that has nothing to do with the physical thing. And, like, also, she's beautiful, so, you know.

Yeah.

Yeah. I think. I think it's. I don't know. He's stuck on that, Which. To each his own, I guess. But I don't know. Not a big fan of that.

I thought that was messy. I think that if you are engaged, you are engaged, and I think conversations can happen in a way that don't disrespect your partner. If you have to go hide away and, like, tuck away in a corner and say, she's not my type, you are, you probably shouldn't say it.

Okay, so our couples head back to Ohio, and they're meeting each other's families. We must talk about Alex meeting Ashley's dad.

I feel like my brain is still, like, in a whirlwind from that conversation, because what the hell was said? Like, everything was said and nothing at the same time. What do y' all saw?

Yeah, and we're like. It's still going, like, three minutes in, he's still asking questions. Yeah, that was. That was a firing squad, that's for sure.

I mean, he's a lawyer, right? So, like, maybe that's just part of. I don't know. I don't know if maybe he got caught up in the cameras and stuff like that. It's just like. I don't know. It was tough, but, like, the fact that Alex was pretty cool with it and answered all the questions, I was kind of like. Like, he always has an answer.

yeah, it felt kind of like a job interview. Like, putting on your best face to get the job, answering questions. Not like, genuinely, this is My authentic self answering questions.

Like, it just felt like he was saying just enough that he wouldn't get, like, ridiculed and kind of, like, riding the fence and making it seem like he was a bit more established than he actually is and, like, a bit more stable than he actually is. And the dad was, like, reading between the lines, like, what do you actually have going on? And, yeah, that was a bit messy,

but, yeah, that was intense. Yeah.

Dad was a character for sure.

I honestly, I felt bad for Ashley during that conversation because they kept showing her, like, looking down. She wasn't making eye contact with anyone. Like, she was obviously uncomfortable too, probably for more reasons than one, but it stinks for her only in that situation. Because when you find someone you. You love and you are excited about and you introduce them to your family and that approval isn't there, it's, like, so deflating for her. So I'm sure she was, like, really bummed that it wasn't, like, all heart eyes and sunshine and rainbows for the family meet.

I wonder if that's how her dad. Did they ever mention that she's never brought anybody around? Because I wonder if that's how he's talked to all of, like, people that
