It was really hard to watch it back. It's been a very.
Host
Why was it hard to watch back? Oh, well, there's a. There's tea.
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
Newsflash.
Host
What would you say it was like filming Perfect Match compared to Love is Blind?
Sophie
Thankfully, I'm not the villain.
Host
I loved your season. That was a very interesting season.
Sophie
Very chaotic. I said to me in chabette and I was like. I was like, imagine if our storyline wasn't there. It'd be a bit dry. But yeah.
Host
How did it feel when you and Dave were announced as the win?
Sophie
We're in a tie and we had to do a redraw to be announced winners. And I was like, convinced that it was gravy.
Host
Wait, there was a tie? My gosh. Okay, girl, we should have had you on first with the tea because you got. I have all the tea, Allison. The real tea. You can finally spill everything.
Alison
So the real tea is. Before I even, like, answer that. I was really hurt to hear this, actually.

Sophie
I'm so well, how are you?
Host
I'm doing good, thank you. What are you up to? What are you doing here in la?
Sophie
I came to see my girlies, Allison and Kayla to watch the final episodes together and then also just to see la.
Host
Yeah. Is this your first time?
Sophie
Yeah, my first time.
Host
Welcome.
Alison
I know I kind of saw on.
Host
On Live the other day, I was kind of stalking you guys on Live that Allison was giving you the grand tour and showing you all of her favorite things.
Alison
Yeah, she's like.
Host
And that's my favorite. And that's my favorite.
Sophie
And that's my favorite. What was it?
Host
Sushi spot that you're gatekeeping.
Sophie
Yeah.
Host
Allison is here, by the way. That's why I'm looking for.
Sophie
I mean, it's no longer a gatekeep. It was on the final episode, so.
Host
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Did you go have sushi there?
Sophie
No, we haven't. I went to Nobu yesterday.
Host
Oh, nice.
Alison
How was that?
Sophie
Yeah, lovely. Yeah.
Host
So how does it feel to be able to finally reveal that you're the winner of Perfect Match season four?
Sophie
It's still very surreal. It was obviously six months ago. It was really hard to watch it back, but, yeah, also very, very fun. I had such a positive experience. Experience on Perfect Match, and I feel you can see that as a viewer as well. But, yeah, it's been a very.
Host
Why was it hard to watch back?
Sophie
Me and Dave are no longer together.
Host
Oh, well, there's a. There's tea.
Sophie
Yeah. News flash. Okay. Yeah. So, yeah, that was one of the main reasons why I wanted to come and watch it with the girls, because as much as I love my family and friends back home, that it's just. It's a different world, isn't it? And so to watch it with people that have also experienced it with you was really special. Yeah. Me and Kayla watched the last episode together. Both crashed out. And then I actually crashed out. I woke up on her sofa.
Host
Oh, my God.
Sophie
Because we. It was so late. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But, yeah, it was hard to watch. But still, such a lovely journey to watch me and Dave go through that.
Alison
Yeah.
Host
Okay, well, tell me what life has been like for the past, like, six months since everything wrapped.
Sophie
Life has been very hectic. So I turned 30 whilst I was traveling back from filming. And when I got home, and then I think it was Delta, I was going to say no shade, but full shade. Lost my suitcase, so I didn't have any of my stuff for a whole week. And I was supposed to go to Paris to celebrate my birthday. But couldn't go because I had no makeup, no clothes, like, everything. Because you're away for so long, right? So my whole life was in these case. And then when I returned back to work, I got made redundant, and I was like. I was like, what's the next thing? Yeah. So. And then I had a few health scares, and life was just very chaotic. And then me and Dave meet up again for our winners trip, and we go to the Maldives, which was so, so beautiful. And in typical Sophie style, we decide to call it a day in the Maldives when it's, like, the most romantic place on planet Earth. And we made a joke about it and had a laugh and, like, whatnot. But, yeah, when you're just friends with someone, there's not a lot to do in the Maldives. It's like a place where you go just to have sex. Yeah. Yeah. Swim. So I was playing mermaids by myself for, like, most of the trip, but, yeah. And then now I feel like I'm on the other side. Life's good. Life's exciting. And then, yeah, now the whole world knows that I was vulnerable and it didn't work out. So that. That was great. But. But, yeah.
Host
What would you say it was like filming Perfect Match compared to Love is Blind?
Sophie
Oh, Worlds Apart. I. I got approached for Love is Blind, so it wasn't something that I was actively looking to do. And I was, in the time of my life, like, doing anything for the plot. And I was like, ha, ha. It's funny. I was like, maybe I'll find somebody. And then when I got there, so seriously, because, like, it's marriage, right? And I quickly ascertained that there was the men in there weren't my future husband. And then, yeah, I was involved in two love triangles. Got a lot of hate from the public. And then because I took it so seriously, I found it really hard because I didn't find somebody. And I, like, I was you question like, well, what's wrong with me? Why are all these other girls finding people? And it was like a therapy session, really. I learned a lot about myself. But again, you have to wait a year before everybody finds this out. And then I got a lot of hate. And, yeah, I thought I was a really strong person, but nothing truly prepares you to be on, like, the magnitude of hate that I was getting. Thankfully, I'm through the other side. But Love is Blind wasn't a very positive experience. It was, in a way, that I learned a lot about myself and, like, I'm a much better person in many Aspects of my life. But, yeah, filming wasn't very positive. Like, I just didn't enjoy myself. And then. Perfect match. I feel like you can see as a viewer, I am just in hysterics every single day. I had the best time of my life. I went in thinking I'd be in there for 24 hours, so I kind of, like, just didn't give a. Like, like, all the guys were like. You weren't very, like, approachable on the first day. You were kind of just like, la, la, la.
Alison
Yeah.
Sophie
And I was like, yeah. Because I was like, okay, I'm gonna come in, go out, do my thing, whatever. Don't care. Yeah, it is what it is. And then was totally blindsided with Dave, and then he has the exact same sense of humor. Humor as me. So then I just felt like I was, like, on a summer camp with my best friend. So, yeah, lovely experience. Friends with all of the cast, the production team, everyone behind closed doors was just so wonderful and so lovely. So, yeah, it made me. It made me fall in love with that side of things again because my parents were very concerned and they were like, are you sure? Because you don't know. And I was like, yeah, it's not a serious love spine. It's fine. And they were like, yeah, but you could still be the villain. Like, are you ready for that? I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's fine. Thankfully, I'm not the villain. So, like, there was a moment I was really scared because obviously you're aware of what happened. And when I laughed in Jimmy's face, I was like, shit. I was like, oh, I don't know if people are going to find that funny. Thankfully, the perception is that it was quite funny, so that's fine. But, yeah, very positive experience.
Host
I love that for you. Are you friends with anyone still from your Love Is Blind uk?
Sophie
I'm actually friends with them all. Like, you wouldn't know that, but, yeah, I'm friends with them all. We've actually filmed. I don't even know if I can tell you this, but I'm sure it comes out soon. Anyway, we filmed, like, a reboot. Like, are they now? Yeah. So I did that and we went away to a country home. I think that comes out next month. But, yeah, friends with them all. I went to Dubai a few weeks ago and I saw Barda and I saw Tom and me and Katisha are really close. So, yeah, I'm actually friends with most of the cast. Really?
Host
I love that.
Sophie
Yeah, I loved your season.
Host
That was a very Interesting season.
Sophie
Very chaotic. I said to me in Japan, I was like. I was like, imagine if our storyline wasn't there. It'd be a bit dry. But. But, yeah, well, there's that. We took one for the team. I'll take the heat.
Host
Yeah, yeah, yeah. How did you actually end up on Perfect Match?
Sophie
I. I got messaged to come on Perfect Match. They messaged me whilst Love is Blind was airing. And I feel like they were trying to gauge what the public's perception of me was. And I am very much like Marmite. Like, if you get my sense of humor, my dryness, then you're like, okay, I understand Sophie. Like, she is joking, like 90 of the time, but the other 10 I can just come across as a. Because you just don't know me. Yeah, yeah. And then I had a few calls and then I was actually on holiday and I got a call, like a last minute call, like, hey, so like, pack your bags. We need you on a plane in three days. I had a little bit more notice than that. But I didn't get back from my holiday. I literally had two days to, like, do a quick turnaround. And again, I was very light hearted. La la la. Never thought I'd make it to the finale. I literally. Because I knew I was going in as a bombshell, I thought 24 hours. I didn't even pack enough clothes for the whole thing because I was like, no way I'm gonna still be in there. Yeah. And here we are. Yeah, here. Here we are. Bloody won the show. Yeah.
Host
How was it going into the villa as a single and everybody was already matched up?
Sophie
Yeah, well, they told me I was going on a beach date. So they were like, oh, get ready, you're going on a beach date. Like, Marissa and Damari had picked someone for you. So I was like, oh. I was like, oh, that's so much better. Less pressure because then you go in the house with them, blah, blah. So when we pull up to the villa, I was like, no, I'm not ready for this. Yeah. So, like, I'm so, so nervous. I'm not even looking at the camera when I do my walk in because I was like, I can't breathe.
Host
Oh, my God.
Sophie
Yeah. But I. It literally makes the show. I'm like, everyone's so nice. Like, they were so nice and all the girls were really welcoming and I guess that must be hard. But, yeah, they were super lovely. I obviously stole MacKenzie's man. But again, you. There's parts that you don't see. But, like, I'M like, okay, Mackenzie. Like, I was like, really sorry, but I feel like Dave is probably gonna match with me. And I was like, you're about to get booted out the vera if you don't do anything, so you need to, like, go shoot your shot with whoever. Yeah. Like you want to. And then that's when she has a conversation with Jimmy. But like, even that, like, everyone was just so nice and open about certain things, which to be in that experience, I feel like is quite rare.
Host
Yeah.
Sophie
So, yeah, it was actually fine being a bombshell.
Host
Did you recognize anyone or know anybody
Alison
when you came in?
Sophie
Oh, yeah. Jimmy P. And again, I sit down and he goes to me, he's like, hey, I did love his man. And I was like, low key. Like, just, I didn't know him. And I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then I was like, I was getting him to explain, like, his experience, and he was like, yeah, you know, like the Megan Fox.
Host
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You already knew the whole time. That's so awkward.
Sophie
And then I was like, I was like, oh, yeah, you're the one known as the biggest fumble on Netflix. Dating Chase. And he was like, yep, that's me.
Host
Oh, God. Okay, so when you were deciding who to take on a date, you had both Jimmy's as your top choices initially. What drew you to each of them?
Sophie
Jimmy P. Originally, we spoke about Love is Blind. He got a lot of hate, I got a lot of hate. And we seem to have a lot of, like, intellectual conversations. And that was my biggest concern with Dave was, haha, he's loads of fun, but like, am I gonna get bored in a few weeks? And yeah, Jimmy kept reassuring me that he's done a lot of development and all these things that I went through. So I was like, oh, yeah, that, that might be nice. And then the other Jimmy is just so funny. Like, he's so funny. But yeah, now they're both. Well, Jimmy S. Is like a brother to me. And then the other Jimmy, we are not compatible.
Host
So, yeah, not much to say about that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I've been hearing that. Yeah, it's not compatible.
Sophie
Yeah. When they were like, like, it looks like he's very sore off stuff. I was like messaging the. The group chat, like, sorry, was this the case? Did I miss something? But no, it was not the case.
Host
Interesting. Let's talk about you and Dave.
Sophie
Okay.
Alison
Okay.
Host
So you initially called Dave a red flag, but you also said that you liked that he was a male version of you. What did you mean by that?
Sophie
We have the same sense of humor. That was one of my biggest concerns because most of the house was American. And, like, English banter can fall flat with Americans sometimes because, like, we just take the piss out of everything. And he has the same sense of humor, but he's also. I can be very immature and make light of any situation, and so can he. So, yeah, we just. On our first day, I wish you could see it. Like, he had me crying in laughter about something, and it was me embarrassing myself. And, like, we both just thought it was the funniest thing ever. But, yeah, my concern was, is this just fun? Like, because I need something else. But, yeah, he. He is actually quite funny. Not as funny as me, but he is actually quite funny.
Alison
Yeah.
Host
No, you guys Kiki'd on that show. Like, every time I turned around, it was some belly laughter. I love that for you. And I get the. The humor because, you know, Ollie, my husband, is very English and, like, he has a very kind of. Like you said, either you get the humor or you don't. And he had me on the floor on Perfect Match. Like, that's how I fell in love with him. Just like, crying, laughing 24 7. So I get it. It's, like, so important.
Sophie
Yeah.
Host
And American guys just don't do it. You know, they're not that funny.
Sophie
They're not. I mean, there's a few funny guys on the show. Yeah.
Host
Funny looking. I'm joking.
Sophie
I mean, you said it.
Host
I'm joking. Okay, so the day after you and Dave matched was the singles mixer. Do you think the timing worked in your favor since your relationship was so new?
Sophie
Yeah. And no, I feel like it wouldn't have mattered when it was really, because me and Dave were very open. I feel like neither of us truly, as much as we were having fun, we didn't feel like feelings were actually going to get involved. And then when I'm at the mixer, like, as a viewer, you're like, sophie's doing the most. But it was like, all in games. Like, it wasn't like, I was just making out with someone on the beach. Like, and then I came back and I'm like, all the girls are crashing out. And I did not care. I was like, can't wait for Dave to come home and tell me kiss somebody. Yeah, it is what it is. And I feel like that was the good part of it because it didn't really allow me to crash out because, like, I literally matched with him, like, 12 hours before. So it. It was what it was. But, yeah, I feel Like, I would have done the exact same thing whether I was in there for one day or one week, because I was just there for fun. Yeah. But, yeah, I feel like what it did do is speed up our journey. Post that, like, once we both sat down and was like, okay, they're my boundaries. I don't want to do that anymore. Then it was just like, we were just plain sailing. Like, most evenings. We were like, okay, bye, everyone. Good night. Yeah, we had, like, zero drama.
Alison
Yeah.
Sophie
Yeah. So, yeah. Yeah. I think it worked in our benefit. Really?
Host
Yeah. Okay, so then you had the kissing challenge. How was that for you?
Sophie
Disgusting. It was actually so gross. But I'm so competitive, so I was like, to Dave, I was like, right, come on, take one for the team. I was like, you've kissed everybody already, so it should be fine for you. But then I get Dave on, like, my fourth guy. So then I've still got six. Six other guys kiss. And after, like, the fifth, I was like, you know what? I don't even care about winning anymore. I was like, I'm out. Yeah. Yeah. And there were some very questionable kisses in the kissing challenge. Like, some men were, like, doing the most. I had someone, like, lift my bum up.
Host
Oh, my God.
Sophie
Grab me and, like, taking full advantage of the experience. And I was like, okay, okay. And then you had Chris, like, nibbling everyone's arms and ears. Yeah. Poor guy. I don't know what he was thinking. It was funny. It was funny, but that wasn't the purpose. Yeah, yeah.
Host
Did he nibble on your arms?
Sophie
No, he did. He, like, nibbled. Like, there's. You can see on one sleep, one scene. I'm like, the snippet. Like, me and him are like the face on one of the episodes, and it's him, like, nibbling on my ear, and I am cackling at him, and, like, he said it mean. I was like, chris, it's not supposed to be funny. We're not. We're not there yet. Laugh. But no. Poor guy. Poor guy.
Host
Bless him. You kind of touched on it a little bit about the whole laughing in Jimmy's phase and your humor and stuff. What was actually going through your head in that moment when you were like, burst out laughing?
Sophie
So I wish there was a little bit more context.
Host
Yeah.
Sophie
Tell us what was happening. So Ali and Jimmy were a hot mess. The whole season. It was. They were on, they were off, they were open, they were closed. They were like. They wanted to be closed, but the other person wanted to be open. And everyone in the house Was like, do you want to be open or close? Yeah, because if you want to be closed, be closed. If you want to be open, be open. And then Jimmy was fine because it was his option. So when Cassie came in, he was fine to be open, but as soon as it was the other way around, his whole development as a person seems to be questioned. Yeah. Because then, like, he was crashing out. And, like, Ali very, very respectfully said, hey, you literally did this 12 hours ago with Cassie. Like, let me have my chance to do the same thing. And if you wanted to be close, he should have closed it off the night before after he had his date with Cassie.
Host
Yeah.
Sophie
So, yeah. And then Ali is crashing out, and you see, all of us girls confide in her, and we're like, okay, let's talk about this. Let's go sit down on the sofa. So we go sit down, and then Jimmy comes and sits with all the girls, and I very politely. I'm actually proud of myself. I very politely was like, can you just let Ali, like, be in her feels? And Jimmy just proceeds to sit next to us, and it is one of the most awkward moments of my whole entire existence. And then he proceeds to tell us all how much he's falling for Ali.
Alison
Yeah.
Sophie
But that. It's, like, 45 minutes of him just talking. And I was like, you can literally see I'm really trying not to laugh in his face. And. And it got to a point. And it's not just girls now. Jimmy's there, Dave's there. Like, there's a big group, and he's still going. And everyone's like, jimmy, take the hint. Like, if she wanted to match, she would have matched with you 45 minutes ago. Why are you still going? So, yeah, I actually do feel like I took one for the team. Really? Because I don't. We would still be there probably, if I didn't laugh.
Host
She said, wrap this up immediately.
Sophie
Like, yeah, I don't. I don't know. Everyone did laugh after as well. So, like, as much as I hurt his feelings, like, I do get it. And as soon as I laugh, I do say sorry straight away. But, like, I've got myself in so many bad situations for laughing when I shouldn't. But, yeah, it couldn't have happened at a better time.
Alison
Really.
Sophie
Like, it is what it is. And then I bring him back after we win the challenge, and when he comes in, I'm like, hey. I'm like, sorry about laughing in your face. And he was like, garrett's fine. So we were like, Very cool about it.
Host
All right, so compared to the other couples, it seemed like you and Dave didn't have any problems. Was there anything major that your relationship went through that we didn't get to see?
Sophie
Yeah, we had the ultimate boy girl conversation. Like, problems. I really wish it was shame because looking back, it was absolutely hilarious. But we're sat outside on the day bed and apparently in the morning he's making like cereal or something and Weston's complaining that there's no girl in there. And like, me and Dave weren't locked off, right? And as a joke I'm like, haha, Weston, it's not too late. As a joke. Yeah, yeah. And Dave was like, that wasn't cool, but never said anything to me. And then we're sat on the day bed having a conversation and I was like, oh, what? What would you do if a girl comes in? Would you go on a date? Because girls were coming in that day. And he's like, whoa. And there's like a pause and he doesn't shut it down straight away. And then I get my backup and I just get up and I'm like, you're a weirdo. And he was like, what? I'm like, you're weird? Yeah. And he was like, Sophie. And I'm like, no, I'm not doing this. So I leave and as I walk through the kitchen, Jimmy S. Is in there and he's like, you okay? I'm like, dave's a weirdo. And he's like, good weird or bad weird? And I'm like, there's never a good weird, Jimmy. And then I go into the bedroom. Yeah, for a nap. Because me and Dave were waking up at 5am every day because of like our time difference.
Host
Oh yeah.
Sophie
So that was another reason why we bond. Cuz every morning we went on the beach and we watched sunrise together. Like it was really nice. But we didn't get a lot of sleep during the whole experience. So I'm like, I'm going for a nap. Dave comes in and I see the cameras behind him. And Dave comes in and he's like, do you want to talk? And I'm like, no, I'm tired. I want a nap. And he leaves. Right? Well, he goes to leave and I'm like, in typical girl fashion, I'm like, you're just gonna walk away? And he's like, you just told me to leave.
Host
Yeah.
Sophie
And I was like, well, obviously I'm not very happy with you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then he sits down and he, he was like, Well, I wasn't very happy this morning that you made this joke. And I was like, well, I wasn't very happy that you didn't shut it down. And then like we're bickering for like 20 minutes and then I start laughing. He's like, what's funny? And I was like, we're literally arguing because we both want to be closed off, but neither of us want to say it. And then, yeah, we have the close off conversation. But again, it's like, I hate that
Host
they didn't show that.
Sophie
I know, because it was actually so funny. Like we were both like. Because in the moment I was like, it's not funny at all. But looking back, I was like, that is so boy girl like, conversation code. Oh, it was hilarious. But I knew it would be funny because there was like. Because you're in the rooms, you obviously have the little cameras, don't you? But then two big cameramans come in and I'm just really conscious because I went to bed and like I was just in my pants. So I'm like, oh my God, are they gonna see my ass? So Dave's like trying to be serious with me and I'm like, yeah, scooting around in the bed, but it was so, so funny. And then we both come out and we're like, la la la. Like we're perfect. And then it was plain sailing from then. We didn't have any issues or hiccups from that. It was just us having fun all the time.
Host
Okay, so let's jump a little bit to the finale. All the things being exposed and the bombs being dropped and what's going on through in your head through all that.
Sophie
I feel like the finale sums up mine and Dave's whole experience. Like we were always like, hehehe, hahaha in the corner and everyone else was just going for drama all the time.
Host
Did you know all this was going on or you guys were kind of in your own zone?
Sophie
We knew about Ali and Jimmy. The whole house knew about Ali and Jimmy. We knew about Jimmy and Alison's pinky promise. Everyone knew that. Mackenzie and Kayla. I feel like everybody was. Well, I didn't know that was coming. And there's like a few things like snipes being thrown. And me and Dave were just sat there laughing the whole thing. Like at one point Nick was like, sophie, like, stop laughing. I was like, oh, sorry. Because it was like so serious.
Host
Yeah, yeah.
Sophie
I was like, this is like, what? And again, you. You only see a snippet. Like, I don't think we finished film until 4:00am because, like, it was. Everyone was just gunning for everyone, really. And then I'm just like, la, la, la. So, yeah, it was.
Host
Did you do any Spotify texting?
Sophie
No, I defo. Did you know who I was mushing on Spotify? Freddie. Really? From the other season. Because I was like. I was like, hey, Freddie, I'm in like the hold up hotel.
Host
That's so funny.
Sophie
And he was actually filming one of
Host
his ex on the beach.
Sophie
Yeah, he was filming X on the beach. So we were like checking in on each other. For some reason, Spotify would only work on the messages. I didn't even know if it was a thing.
Host
Yeah.
Sophie
If you're already connected. I've never messaged Freddie on Spotify ever in my life. But we were connected on there.
Host
So funny.
Sophie
I was like, oh, my God. And he was like, oh, my God. We were messaging on there. And then I get him because Freddie has his phone. So I get Freddie to send message Dave to find Dave on Spotify.
Host
That is so funny.
Alison
Yeah.
Sophie
Freddie was being matchmaking. That is so funny. And then when we, oh, all got it taken off, like, that was the morning in the evening, no one has Spotify. And I was like, oh. And I was like, I thought it was me. And obviously I didn't tell anybody. I was like, yeah, I don't know what happened. Yeah, they were all like, oh, we don't have Spotify. And I was like, oh, that's so strange. And then when it came out, the finale, I was like,
Host
wait, that is so funny. Are you watching X on the beats? Did you watch it at all?
Sophie
Yeah, I did. Yeah, I did. Freddie. Freddie explained that, like, he found it difficult in watching his journey on there. Like, you could see that you found it difficult.
Host
Ollie and I are watching, so that's really funny. Yeah, that is so good. How did it feel when you and Dave were announced as the winners?
Sophie
So we're in a tie with Natalie and Yemin and we had to do a redraw to be announced winners. And I was like, convinced that it
Host

Sophie
yeah, so there's a, there's a vote and then it's. You have to win the vote by two votes or something. I don't know what the rules are. Yeah, I was also very tipsy at the finale, so Nick's like, right, everyone has to vote again, but now you can only me vote for Dave and Sophie and Yemen and Natalie. Yemen and Natalie have half the house that did, like, shows with them. So I was like, no way we're gonna win because they're all just gonna vote for them, right? And a lot of, like, the singles never met me and Dave. So, like, I was just like, oh, okay, like, they're gonna win. So I'm sat there and they're about to announce it, and I'm just staring at Natalie and Yamin because I didn't think it would be us. And then we get announced and I think I really wish they showed it. But, like, I don't even look at Dave. I go to all the girls and all the girls are so happy. And I'm like, ah, Dave goes to all the guys and then all of the production team come out and everyone's
Host
like, ah, you won.
Sophie
And I'm going over to say thanks. And then I was like, hold on a minute. I was like, where's my bloody mat? Yeah, so what the hell? Yeah, but, yeah, it was crazy. Like, I didn't expect that. The night before we had a conversation and I Was like, oh, Dave. I was like, we actually have a chance of winning here. Like, what the hell? But we never thought that we would win. Crazy.
Host
Yeah. So at the end of the finale, we kind of get to see clips of your getaway. You kind of told me what it was like a little bit in the beginning of our conversation. But how was your actual trip?
Sophie
Yeah. So, yeah, all communication dropped off before the trip. Really?
Host
What is the timeline?
Sophie
So we come off the show November, we go to the Maldives, like, New Year.
Host
Okay.
Sophie
So I think it was like six weeks and we were, like, quite good when we first came off. Like, we were quite consistent. The time difference is 12 hours. So when I was waking up, he was going to bed. So we would, like, ring. We were having a phone call every single day. And then I was going through a lot. And then because it was just that one phone call, he couldn't really be like my voice of reason or anything. So I just kind of retreated and was like, okay, I need to digest my actual life now. And that was one of the main things that we said at the finale because everyone was like, oh, like, are you going to be boyfriend, girlfriend? Like, what's the situation? I was like, he lives in Australia, I live in England. Like, that's a whole day of traveling. Like, be for real. I wanted to see how we could navigate actual life together before I put any pressure on either of us. And because we both came from such serious shows and I'm very intentional when it comes to dating now, I didn't want to make him my boyfriend and it not work out. So, yeah, communication fizzles and then, yeah, we're like, we're still talking or whatever, but nothing, like, serious. Then we go to the Maldives and we're. It's the first time we've seen each other since winning and it just feels like we've just gone back six weeks and I was like, oh, might be in trouble.
Host
Yeah.
Sophie
And then the first day we do the let's try every single cocktail on the menu at the resort, and then we're both tipsy and then we end up having a heart to heart on day one and was like, look, what we have is really special. I don't want to risk it trying again and then losing our friendship because I felt like if we tried again, there was every chance it would become bitter because there were, like, certain things that neither of us were slightly happy about, about what happened. And then, yeah, we had a week in the Maldives as friends. We were going on our bikes, we're going on runs. We went on excursions together. But yeah. Anybody listening to if you want to go to the Maldives, just make sure you want to shag your partner, because there's honestly not a lot to do unless you don't want to be in the water. And some days it was quite overcast too, so I was like, I don't want to play mermaids today. So it's just like, okay, let's go get drunk at the bar again.
Alison
Right.
Sophie
But yeah, we're still. We're still close. We still check up on each other and we're both very conscious that we want to keep what we had sacred and, like, be friends and be there for each other because bloody hell, the rest of the cast are like, at it, like, arguing left, right and center. And I never, ever wanted that. So, yeah, unfortunately, it didn't work out. But the blessing in disguise is he's in Australia, so I've never have to bump into him. So, like, it is what it is at this stage. Yeah. But yeah, it was hard to watch back and I think he found it hard too, because we were both so blindsided. Like, Like I literally said, I think my favorite line on there is, I'm just here for fun. And he's very much there for fun, doing the most every single day. And then, yeah, we crossed paths. And then, as you see, it was just. We didn't even try. Like, it just happened naturally.
Alison
Yeah.
Sophie
But yeah, do you think if you
Host
guys lived on the same continent, it would have. Things would have been different?
Sophie
I think it would definitely have made it easier. I do feel like we're not compatible in a relationship sense. And again, this was another reason why I didn't want to make it official. Because you don't truly know, do you? Like, in the villa, you have zero stresses and you don't really know someone's values or how they present themselves in their real world until you're in there. And yeah, we're. We're just different people in the real world. Like, we both have fun, but then if you take the fun out of it and you've got stress and stuff, we just with things differently. And Dave is like a very calm soul and I'm very much not. So I need. Sometimes I need someone that's like, sophie, shut up. Like, sit down. And like, Dave would never tell me.
Alison
Shut up.
Sophie
No. So he'll just be like, haha, it's not that serious. And I'm like, okay, well, it is serious. I'm going to have a crush out. So Yeah, I think we probably would have lasted a bit longer, but, yeah, I just don't think we're compatible in the long term, which is sad. Yeah, well, you know, one of those things.
Host
Yeah.
Sophie
Yeah.
Host
So what is Sophie's current relationship status? Are you single? Are you dating? Are we. What's going on?
Sophie
I. I did the same on Love is Blind. It's so hard to date when you have a show bloody coming out because I'm like, hahaha. Like, by the way, by the way, everyone's gonna know. Yeah. Yeah. And it's especially something like Perfect Match. I'm like, oh, yeah. By the way, I kiss four guys at a mixer. Like, that's gonna come out. So, like, I haven't really dated. I did an Instagram post this morning to be like, newsflash, I'm single. And that's going down a treat. My. I've got a few blue ticks. Life's great.
Host
Okay, so the DMs are open.
Sophie
Yeah, DMs are very much open. Anyone wants to slide on through. But yeah, I'm excited to date again. I'm a lover girl at heart. I want to find my person. I feel like one of the main reasons I did Perfect Match, it was like, fun, fun, fun. But you guys have, like, proven that this can work.
Host
Yeah.
Sophie
Whereas Love is Blind, it has its success stories, right? Yeah, but like, Perfect Match, you guys are like, the only success story. So I was like, oh, yeah, it was last year. Like, I could do that. But yeah, now I'm just excited to find somebody I very much know what I want. The show taught me how to be vulnerable in a different way. And it also showed me that with the right person, like, you can just be authentically yourself and it's perfectly fine. So, yeah. Excited for the future.
Host
Yeah. Is there anything that the audience did not get to see that you want to share with everyone?
Sophie
Yeah, Minor days, final day. So when we won the challenge, you obviously get a winner's date. And we was the worst date for me and Dave. Like, they picked like, this sexual chakra date, right?
Host
Yeah.
Sophie
But in the most beautiful place I've ever been in my life. So imagine it's like this beautiful villa and there's candles everywhere. There's like a little lake in the middle, and we're sat on some cushions and he's like, right, I want you to like, it was all about genital chakras or something. And, like, the, like, even him saying it, I was just laughing, like, was not taking this serious whatsoever. Dave Opens a champagne pop and like, smacks the guy in the face with like, the cork. So we're already not taking it seriously. And the problem with me and Dave is when we look at each other, like, we just laugh. Which you see when I laugh in Jimmy's face. Like, we're like, haha, funny.
Alison
So the.
Sophie
The guy is trying to be patient with us because he's like, right, look into each other's eyes. And I want you to start from your eye chakra. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, genital chakra. But every time he said it, like, we just started laughing. So it's been like a good 40 minutes of us laughing at each other's face right now.
Host
That's why they didn't show it.
Sophie
He's being so patient with us. And then in the end he goes, right, close your eyes. We just couldn't do it. And then we did have a really special moment. And, like, we did take it seriously in the end, but it did take us like, a good two hours to, like, take this date seriously. And I was like, guys, you couldn't have picked, like, two worst people. Like, yeah, just stare at someone's, like, in their eye.
Host
That's hard to do with someone that you're actually with, like, in love with.
Sophie
And I was like. I was like, oh, I can't do this. But like, he was like, okay, don't look each other. Just dare. But then you would hear the other person be like. So it would have made really funny.
Host
Yeah.
Sophie
Because I was in hysterics and so was he. But yeah, in hindsight, it's probably best that it wasn't showing because it was. It was very weird. And then I had to, like, sit on him and like, like, hold each other.
Alison
Yeah.
Sophie
And I was like this. I said, I'll never do this in the real world. Yeah. I was like, this isn't for me. But then after we got to sit on this thing and take the villa in and have champagne, that was very much me.
Host
Yeah.
Sophie
I was like, we should have just done this. Right? And we had a heart to heart before what you guys see as our final heart to heart. And I feel like that's when we actually realize, oh, there may be feelings here. So it was a very nice moment. And I feel like no one really understands why we win. Like, everyone's like, oh, what the hell? Yeah. Because you don't really see our journey. It's kind of just like me and Dave just laughing. And that was our journey. But we do have serious moments too. But no, it was. It was an experience, for sure. There's so many things that you didn't see. Like, I thought I was bloody hilarious. I feel like I come across really funny, but there's so many moments where I just feel like they should have added it in because it was just comical. I feel like the biggest one is Jimmy and Ali's relationship. There's so much context that you're not given as a viewer. Like, Jimmy was not clear in his communication with Valley. You kind of see it in the finale when Marissa's like, well, hold on. You weren't open with Valley on this. And Allison does it. And then there's a bit where I have a conversation with him because he says something to me that I relate to Ali. And then Ali obviously comes for Jimmy, and he's like, well, it really upsets me that, like, you don't trust me. So I was like, hold on. I was like, jimmy, did you say it? And he's like, yeah, I did, but Ali shouldn't question me. And I'm like, but, Jimmy, you said it, right? And, like, he just wasn't understanding that. He. It was more. He was upset that Ali wouldn't believe him. And I was like, but you said it.
Alison
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sophie
And then he kept saying telephone. And I didn't know what that meant because that's an American thing. And he kept going, telephone. I was like, why'd you keep saying so I'm getting pissed? And I was like, why'd you keep saying telephone? Yeah, I'm next to Dave, and he doesn't know what telephone is. It got to a point where I was like, I'm leaving television.
Host
What is it? What was said that
Sophie
Jimmy insinuated that he picked Ali? He. He insinuated that he knew that Ali would always come back to him. Oh, and that's why he picked her over Cassie, because it was, like, more comfortable, like a.
Host
For sure.
Sophie
Yeah. And he said something similar to Cassie, which is why Cassie at the mix mixer is very hot for Jimmy and is like, oh, I wasn't very happy that you did this. But then he admits it. Yeah. Like, he. He's grown and admits it. But then he's like, but, Ali, you should have believed me. And I'm like, but you said it. Yeah. Like, are you okay?
Host
Interesting.
Sophie
But I feel like that would have given more context. And then that's why Ali has a complete crash out, because she. Like, at one point, he goes to Cassie. Cassie comes in at the mixer and tells everybody. But Jamie said to her, hey, what are you doing? November 14th, which is the day that, like, we finish filming or something. So everyone's like, what?
Host
You said that to Cassie? Yeah. In front of everyone?
Sophie
No, on their day.
Host
Oh, on their day.
Sophie
I was like, oh, yeah. What are you doing November 14th, whatever. Cassie calls him out at the finale. That's how everyone finds out. She's like, well, you didn't shut it off with me because you asked me what we're doing. Interesting. So, yeah, if there was more context, Ali's crash out would seem a lot more valid. Which is why when you watch it as a viewer and probably looking back, no one in the house seems bothered that, like, them two are crashing out.
Host
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sophie
Whereas, like, if they were as strong as they appeared or as Jimmy appears on there, everyone in the house would be like, whoa, hold on a minute. Ali, what are you doing? Whereas everyone in the house was like, ali, go match with. Yeah, yeah. Like, you. You need to test it. He's tested it. So, yeah, unfortunately, that was a case of. Of Jimmy saying around and find out, and that's what Ali did, so.
Host
And Jimmy found out. Yeah, real quick, fast and hurry.
Sophie
Yeah, I was kind of just. I was just sat there like crazy.
Host
Did you know that was going to come out?
Sophie
Everyone in the house knew.
Host
Knew about it. But did you think it was gonna. That Hashim would.
Sophie
No one wanted to tell Jimmy. That's not anyone's place but Ali's to say. But, yeah, when Hashim. Like, I thought that that moment could have happened off camera out of respect for Ali, but I guess it happened. It's part of the show. It's part of their storyline, so I do get it, and I feel like there was external pressure for the conversation to take place. But, yeah, Ali and Jimmy should have had a conversation in private before that came to, like, the public domain, I think. Agreed.
Host
Oh, my gosh. Okay, girl, we should go on first with the tea, because you got.
Sophie
I have all the tea. Well, now all of the tea is. Whatever. Crazy.
Host
You had all the bts. We should have called her first. But, yeah, like, what would you say is your overall takeaway from your experience on the Perfect Match?
Sophie
That I am absolutely hilarious. Like, I thought I was funny and I say it on the show, but now everyone, like, is like, you're so hilarious. And now I have a massive ego about being really funny. Yeah. Like, I must say, every day I'm like, I'm so. I'm so funny. Yeah, yeah. And I just. Kayla was like, sophie, you do exactly what I do, but because you've got a British accent, everyone thinks it's funny and fine. And she was like, if I do it, I get shouted at.
Alison
Yeah.
Sophie
And I was like, yeah. But there were points where, like, if I was being like, a bit below the line, I would just put my voice. I would just sound posher, like, whatever I was saying. And I was like, oh, that sounds quite nice. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So no one actually really knew. They were just like, oh, yeah, Sophie's just joking.
Alison
Yeah.
Sophie
But, yeah. And that I just had a really nice time. I've made some friends for life. Who are.
Host
Who are the friends for life?
Sophie
Me, Allison and Kayla. We call ourselves the Three Shots of Chaos. Because, like, anytime we were, like, allowed alcohol, we were all just doing shots and then Chaos just surrounded. It was never our chaos. We were just sat there. But no, us three together. Like, we've. I've spent a lot of time with them this week. It's just great. It's nice that we all have our own story lines too, but they're all quite heavy story lines. So it's nice that we all have each other together, get, like, through it. But I. I'm actually friends with everybody, which is lovely and a very nice position to be in. Like, no one's beefing me on the Internet, which I was actually really scared that Jimmy would come for me for laughing, but I think he finds it funny. Yeah. Yeah. So that's fine. But yeah, I'm. I realized not to take it too seriously, but I feel like everyone else is taking it seriously and on the Internet, which is a shame that they can't do it face to face or whatever needs be. But yeah, I'm just letting them all have their moment and I'm just making nice little tiktoks, like, la, la, la.
Host
Any more shows for you?
Sophie
I feel like maybe no more dating shows. Like, don't think my man is on a dating show.
Alison
Yeah.
Sophie
But what I have realized is I'm super competitive and I feel like I would be hilarious on Big Brother or like the Circle Traitor or. I feel like I'm much more inclined to those. And I'll definitely have a crash out. I would be funny, but I always have like a full blown crash out. So maybe that for me. But at the moment, I feel incredibly blessed with my life. I'm very thankful and happy with where my life is at the moment. I'm just missing my perfect match. So hopefully he comes out the woodworks. But for now, no, blessed and happy.
Host
I love that. Blessed and happy period.
Sophie
Yeah. Okay.
Host
Well, you guys, that was Sophie. Sophie, thank you so much for joining me here on what's the Reality? When do you go back to London?
Sophie
Monday.
Host
Okay, so you have a few more days.
Sophie
Yeah.
Host
Okay. Anything exciting?
Sophie
Well, we've had Jimmy here with us all week, so I feel like I've been a third wheel because I've just been following Jimmy and Alison round all the time. But he leaves today, so me and Alison are just gonna have hot girl dinners, go and explore. I feel like we're gonna go on some cute hikes. Yeah, it's just gonna show me around la. Who knows? I could be back sooner than people think. I'm having a great time.
Host
LA is the place to be, and it's about to be summer and you're thriving and you're hot and this is the place to be.
Sophie
So I know. I was like, oh, maybe I'll come back.
Host
And if you do, you always have a spot here.
Sophie
Oh, I think it's reality.
Host
If you want to drop some more tea or tell me, you know, somebody else's tea.
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
It's up to you.
Sophie
I mean, I'm trying to stay out of everyone's tea because everyone's just pouring. I was like, isn't it funny that I'm the British one and I'm the only one not feeling tea? I'm just, like, watching everyone else.
Host
Yeah, they're going crazy.
Sophie
But it is quite nice to, like, just sit, not be a part of it.
Host
Especially after Love is Blind. Like, yeah, you guys got it.
Alison
Yeah.
Sophie
Like, I actually said, like, I. We're all at a age on Perfect Match and experience that I thought it would never get nasty on the Internet. But, I mean, some people want their five minutes that they didn't get on the show. Some people want. Well, I don't know. Yeah, I'm friends with everybody, but, like, the things that are going on on the Internet right now, I was like, whoa, I didn't even know. Yeah, you felt up. It was six months ago. I'm like, I wouldn't give a Now.
Host
I know feelings are hurt. You hear things you didn't hear. You're seeing things that you didn't feel.
Sophie
But then even I'm just like, who cares? Six months ago.
Alison
Yeah.
Sophie
Yeah. If someone was like, oh, I didn't know. Didn't, like, say if you did that. I'm like, I don't give a. Like, get over it. Or like, if I felt sorry about something. Like, me and Marissa had a conversation and I was like, I Don't know why everyone's being sensitive. Yeah, just get over it. Like, it was six months game.
Host
Marissa's over it.
Sophie
Oh, Marissa is so married.
Host
So she's like, I don't know what y' all got going on, but I'm out of here.
Sophie
Yeah, we rang him. I was like, marissa, isn't it, like, a great position to be in? You're like, la, la, la. I mean, she is getting cooked on the Internet right now.
Host
I don't think she sees it.
Alison
She's just like,
Host
she's in her marriage.
Sophie
You know, we had a conversation. I think she found it hard initially because you. You never really know what anyone's saying in their confessionals until you watch it back. And I feel like she found that hard initially. And then I was like, marissa, you're married. Let, like, let's move on. And then she was like, oh, yeah, yeah, move on. And she is like, the strength from that woman is incredible. Like, I love Marissa. I think she's so funny. But, yeah, what a position to be in. Like, watching everybody else fighting on the Internet and you're like, I'm actually married to the love of my life, so, yeah, I wish that was me. Can't relate. But love that for her.
Host
It'll be you soon, don't you worry.
Sophie
Who knows? I did definitely message the casting team, and I was like, hey, I just seen you do Married at First Sight. You need. You need a British person on there.
Host
Would you do Married at First Sight?
Sophie
I mean, I'd never say no, but holy shit. I mean, well, at least you guaranteed a bloody husband on that show. Like, I don't have a choice. But now I do feel like, like, dating shows are done for me, but I don't know. I. I said that after Love is Blind and here I am. Yeah. So, yeah.
Host
Okay, well, we'll see. The jury is open on that. We'll see. Either way, I'm excited for what's to come. And again, so grateful that you stopped by here. I know your time here in LA was pretty short, so I'm grateful that you spent some time with me on Reality.
Sophie
It's been a pleasure. Thanks for having me.
Alison
Of course, girl.
Host
Allison, the realty. The finale is out. You can finally spill everything. Most importantly, tell us what happened after the camera stopped filming.
Alison
I mean, to start, the people I voted for did win the finale, so I'm very happy for them. And I fucking adore Soph.
Host
Yes.
Alison
But I was really, genuinely surprised that we didn't win. Yeah. That is not coming From a bitter place in my heart.
Host
Just like, I was rooting for you guys.
Alison
Thank you. Yeah, I, like, really, really thought that we were gonna win. And, I mean, you don't win anything. You just win time with your person. So at the end of the day, I do think that it was better for Sophie and Dave to win because, I mean, they live across the world from each other. But I was like, damn, y'. All. Like, we're really gonna date.
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
Like, we weren't lying.
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
And we did. So after the camera stopped, we stayed in Mexico for, like, a few more days. It was so fun. We all, like, went out to the bars with all of the cast and production. So fun. And Jimmy and I were the first to leave because obviously we wanted to be alone.
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
They were like, you guys are not sharing a room at the hotel. I was like, really cute. You think I'm gonna listen? I snuck into his room, like, every single night when we were there, after we were out of the house. And then he stayed in my room because my room was bigger. And that was really fun. Yeah, obviously. And then we went on the cutest date. We found this Michelin star sushi place.
Host
Oh.
Alison
I think our total. I mean, we got so many drinks and so much food. I think our total was, like, 50 bucks. I was like, oh. I was like, I want to live here forever. Then we left Mexico. I obviously sobbed in the middle of the airport because I was very distraught. We had our first leg of our flight together, and then we had to separate, and I was just really, really sad. So I was weeping in the middle of the airport, and Kayla was like, come with me. We go to the lounge. I get you alcohol and cookies. So I think I got, like, five chocolate chip cookies and called it a day, and then slept on the plane.
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
Back. Kayla and I went and met up with our friends, and then Jimmy came and visited me, like, a week later. And that was really fun. It was definitely an adjustment. He had a very hard time adjusting to real life. Just. I mean, it was his first show, and I tried to tell him, like, that's really normal. It is a really difficult adjustment. Coping with being in literally, like, paradise, and then, like, everything's so exciting every day and you're only hanging out with your person and, like, none of your responsibilities exist whatsoever. So there's. There's a learning curve when you go back to real life. He lives in Chicago. I live in la. He told me he was going to move to la. He did not move to la.
Sophie
Still to this day?
Alison
Yeah. He hasn't moved to la. He still lives in Chicago.
Host
Okay. Have you been to Chicago?
Sophie
No.
Host
Are you planning on going to Chicago?
Alison
I don't know. I was supposed to go for New Year's, but it didn't end up happening. But he came here and it was, like, phenomenal. We went to the Lakers game, but then it was a little bit weird at times, too. Like, I could tell he was, like, struggling emotionally a little bit with his adjustment. And, I mean, he's told me that he's comfortable with me, like, sharing the kind of struggles he had too, or I would never talk about, like, his mental health on his behalf, but he has a really hard time with just, like, fully letting his emotional guard down, and he tends to be a little bit avoidant. So we ran into some struggles with that because he just, like, wouldn't talk to me. And I'm like, I want to be there for you. Like, please let me be there for you. Like, you're not acting like yourself. Like, I'm really concerned. Like, I'm here with no judgment whatsoever. At the end of the day, like, you can talk to me and I can listen, and I don't even need to say anything back. Like, I don't need to chirp my opinions in your ear. And he just, like, really wouldn't let me be for a little bit. He had plans to come see my family for Christmas, and then ultimately, like, he decided to cancel on that after I bought all his Christmas presents and got him matching Christmas jammies with my family. So I was really sad. And, like, because of that, I decided, like, we need to take a pause. Like, I can't, because, I mean, I never crashed out on that man once. I just was like, I really, really care about you. Like, I want to be there for you. That's the only thing I care about. And when I was, like, sad, I would, like, just pray for him to be okay. Like, I wouldn't pray that we would be together. Just, like, that's not my concern. Like, I just want him to, like, be at peace with the decision that he made with being on the show and just, like, feel like himself again, you know? And I had a really hard time after my first show, so. I understand. Like, going back to the monotony of real life is a very interesting thing that none of his friends or family understand. So he's, like, going back and he's
Host
like, cool, yeah, back to Chicago.
Alison
Back in negative way.
Host
Right. Like, I can't talk about anything. Can't say anything.
Alison
Exactly. So like that adjustment period was tough. And then we talked about me going to Chicago for New Year's Eve and then I was like, I think I need more time.

Alison
you get your podcasts. Ooh na. And I just like needed to like breathe a little bit because I just was like obviously missing him a lot. Like we quite literally fell in love so fast and that's a really like beautiful but also jarring experience. But now things are a lot better.
Host
Okay.
Alison
He apologized to me in length. Like if I wrote down like a book of what I wanted to hear. He literally verbatim said everything that I could have asked him to say to me, which was really meaningful to me. And I mean we've been hanging out a lot lately and just are figuring things out. But like we both really, really care about each other and I don't think that ever went away. I just needed some space and I think that he did too. But we've even though we were taking space like we talked sporadically throughout that period. He's met my family. He spent a lot of time with my mom and my sister. He's met all of my friends. We did like a friendsgiving when he was here so that everyone could meet my new boyfriend.
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
And I mean I've talked to his mom a lot on the phone and he's been really supportive of me like the past however long. So we're figuring it out. He's not my boyfriend. But like I just like neither of us want to rush anything again, Because I think that was the issue before. And. Yeah, I don't know. I think taking it slow is probably a better decision for both of us, so we'll see what happens. But, I mean, he totally told a stranger the other day that he was my boyfriend. And I was like, this girl came up to me. This is so random. Yeah. We were just walking in the hallway in his hotel, and she goes, you're a star. You're a singer, aren't you? And I was like, have we met before? I am a singer.
Host
Yeah.
Alison
And she was like, I have no idea who you are.
Host
Interesting.
Alison
And I was like, okay. And she was like, I don't know. I'm sorry to, like, sound weird. I just feel like you have this light about you. And I just had. I, like, felt that I had to tell you that. And then she goes, is this your girlfriend? Is that your boyfriend? And I like, look to him to, like, see what the fuck he's gonna say. And he goes, yeah. And she goes, you don't seem very sure. Like, is she your girlfriend or not? And he was like, yes, that's my girlfriend. And I was like. And I just sort of looked at him like,
Host
huh?
Alison
And, like, giggled. And the girl was like, she has something really special about her. You better not fuck this up. And he was like, I'm working on it. And he. She was like, I'm serious. Like, I don't know what I'm feeling. I don't know what I'm sensing right now, but, like, you better treat this girl right. And he was like, recently?
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
And I was like, oh, my God, we got in the elevator. I was like, why did you tell this stranger that I'm your girlfriend?
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
I was like, the show hasn't come out yet. You cannot be telling people I'm your girlfriend, dude. And he was like, I don't know. I didn't know how to answer her. I was like, it was a yes or no question. You say no, or just be like, I don't know. You could, like, say something else. Like, she's cool. Like, say something silly like that, bro, you're not be telling people that. He was like, I don't know. I just, like, stumbled. I was like, so you want me to be your girlfriend? Yeah. I just had to give him shit.
Host
Wait, okay. So. So much so, yeah, he struggled a bit after coming home, and then now everything is out. Can you tell us a little bit about how he's feeling now? Watching everything?
Alison
I think he feels Pretty good about watching it back. Yeah, we. Like, he's been really great. Like, I mean, he called me, like, the second he woke up after the episodes came out, and he's like, so, how are you feeling? What do you want to talk about? You go first. I want to hear everything you have to say. And I told him my drunk reactions to watching the show, and he was like, al, I think you should watch it back again. And I was like, okay. And I was like, okay, you're right. I'm wrong. But, like, it did make me feel a lot better, obviously, talking to him, but he feels good about it. I think he looks great on the show. I think he feels, like, a lot better than I expected him to feel. I was a little worried about. I mean, you never know how you're gonna feel, so. And I'm so protective of everyone I care about, so I'm like, how you doing?
Host
How did you feel watching him at the mixer?
Alison
I felt great about it. I mean, I knew how he acted at the mixer because I got a full report, and he was honest with me about how he was, too. Did not love watching his date. Yeah, but that's okay. I'm a big girl. I can handle myself. I know what happened. I'm like, just watch the show. But he feels good. The only thing that he had critique for the editing team was that they didn't show, like, me being silly as much. He loved, like, seeing my, like, quirkier side and just the way that I interact with my friend. He was like. And then him and I just were, like, clowning around the entire time. Like, he was, like, picking me up and throwing me in the pool. We're, like, playing football together, and he would, like, pick me up and throw me over his shoulder and, like, just be so silly all the time. And they just sort of of left that part out.
Host
Oh, yeah. No.
Alison
And he was like, that's, like, why I fell for you. Was like. He was like, obviously, you're. You stimulate my mind. Like, I love talking to you. I think you're beautiful. Like, I love everything. But, like, the quirky side was like, oh, I could see a life with this girl.
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
So he was. He was upset that they didn't show that.
Host
Yeah. That's so relatable. My husband is a comedian.
Sophie
Yeah.
Host
Literally the funniest person on the planet. You have to be, like, the same thing. He was like, where is all. Like, he. They did a few jokes, but, like, yeah, when I tell every single day, I was on the floor crying. No Laughing, literally. And they just didn't show any of that. But they found the arguments.
Alison
My God, I remember your one argument when you were, like, holding him accountable. I was like, yes, bitch. I'm like, get him.
Sophie
Yeah.
Host
Literally. Yeah. But we also laughed more than we thought. So that's, like, irritating that, like, I don't know.
Alison
I mean, they gotta be funny or
Host
you can't marry comedy. Like, good TV is drama and sadness and fighting.
Alison
And I think the comedy is great tv.
Host
That's the best part.
Alison
I'm like, y' all weird. And I love it. I love it, I love it.
Host
Okay, back to the finale, because we could go on tangents. That's the one I love. I love this about you.
Alison
I love talking to you. You're so fun.
Host
Oh, thank you. So mackenzie alleged that Kayla and Chris had been messaging throughout filming through Spotify.
Alison
So the real tea is before I even, like, answer that. I was really hurt to hear this, actually, because I did read text messages from prior to the finale that MacKenzie had sent to somebody. I don't remember who she had sent them to, saying her plan of what she was going to say to me at the finale.
Host
Like, it was left on the iPad.
Alison
Yeah. Somebody showed it to me. I don't remember who did, but I read them, and it was like, this whole plan of what she was going to say to me, and it was verbatim what she said to Kayla. But then she was super nice to me at the finale, and I was just like, girl, I thought we were like, buddy, buddy. Like, I organized with production to get her birthday cakes because I was like, guys, she's turning 25. That's a big birthday. And, like, yes, we're all friends, but, like, she's not with her people. Like, that sort of sucks. I mean, you're in a beautiful place, but, like, I would want to be with my, like, home friends or my family for my birthday. So then Jimmy and I got her the presents. We got balloons and, like, sparklers, had a big birthday party for her. And, like, I get it. She, like, was interested in Jimmy, and, like, that's upsetting for her. So that's valid that she had some type of feelings about that. But I was like, damn. You were really, like, planning to, like, rip me apart and call me a mean girl and, like, call me these names. I've been nothing but nice to you. Like, that's so hurtful. And we're good now. And she's super nice to me. She's never, ever been mean to me. She was Being super nice to me at the finale, but, like, knowing that that was the plan before, what really hurt my feelings. I was like. In that moment, I was like, damn, dude. Like, I can't get a read on you. I don't know, like, really, like, what to think. It hurt my feelings for sure. But then she said all of it to Kayla, and then she was telling me Kayla's a bad friend to me and that Kayla was trying to kiss Jimmy at the finale. And I was like, bruh, she's not trying to kiss Jimmy.
Host
Yeah.
Alison
And she was like, I just care about you, Allison. Like, I want to have your back and let you know the way Kayla was really acting at the singles mixer. And I was like, thank you. I'm not gonna believe that you had you misinterpreted, my dear.
Host
Interesting.
Alison
I'm not gonna believe that my best friend. I mean, Kayla has never lied to me before. I highly doubt she was trying to make out with Jimmy. When she's, like, like, distraught over not being with Chris, and I know that she watches him like a hawk, I'm like, I just don't believe you. Maybe she really did think that. But I was like, girl.
Sophie
What? Yeah.
Host
Wait, so how did.
Alison
I'm texting.
Host
Yeah, the texting.
Alison
I lost track.
Host
No, that's.
Alison
I always go on these tangents, and I just get like, how did you
Host
find out that Kayla was texting?
Alison
I don't know how she found out. Kayla and I have tried to figure that out.
Host
Yeah.
Alison
Because that really came out of left field for me.
Host
I was like, basically, when we get to these, like, villas or, like, hotels, before we go into the house, we get an iPad.
Sophie
Yeah.
Host
And the only thing on the iPad is Spotify, Netflix, Solitaire, Netflix, Temple Run or something.
Alison
Sudoku. We didn't even have Temple Run. I'm jealous if you had that.
Host
I don't know if it was Temple Run. It was something else.
Alison
We had Sudoku and we had, like, the. The colored squares that you, like, match up together. Yeah.
Host
Just games and Spotify and Netflix. And Netflix, obviously. And there are ways around. If you are smart enough.
Sophie
Yeah.
Host
There are ways around, like, messaging and, like. Yeah, there was a point where, like, my. Like, I logged into my Netflix and I was texting, like, changing my Netflix name so my mom would know I was okay.
Sophie
Yeah.
Host
Like, hey, mom, I'm okay. I was like, my sister would, like, change it to, like, hey, are you good? Like, because you don't get your phone. No, you don't get your phone. Like, you get your Phone for, like, one hour, if you're lucky, at, like, the crack of dawn where no one's
Alison
awake, you can't take to 7am you can use your phone. And there's no WI fi, so have fun.
Sophie
Right.
Host
Mind you went to bed at, like, 4, so it's like, I'm not gonna get my phone. You'll probably miss phone time, so. Yeah, but that's a bit of context of why people are trying to message on Spotify.
Alison
I mean, I've been doing that since I was a teenager.
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
I'd be in school on my computer and be like, on Spotify, texting my friends. Because I would get yelled at if I were on my phone. And I was like, I taught Kayla how to do it. I was texting my sister, told her to tell my mom how to do it so I could talk to people. When they took my phone away, I'm like, sorry, I'm not gonna tell them anything.
Host
I'm not supposed to. Season 5, there will be no Spotify.
Alison
They took it away from us.
Sophie
Oh, did they?
Alison
They found out at some point.
Host
Yeah.
Alison
Somebody spilled the beans. I would never have told anyone I was texting messy. I don't know who said it or if someone was overheard, but I guess she was upset that we were texting. Kayla was like, I can text whoever the I want. I was like, I mean, yeah, yeah. I'm sorry you guys didn't figure out how to do it.
Host
Okay, wait, so back to McKenzie.
Alison
Yeah.
Host
McKenzie and Catherine also alleged that Kayla had a boyfriend outside of the show. Is that true?
Alison
She definitely did allege that. I'm sitting there, Kayla's defending herself, and I'm literally like, fuck. She talking about. Yeah, because, like, Catherine knows us in real life. We hang out in la. She knew Kayla's ex boyfriend. I don't know if she knew her ex boyfriend before him, but, like, the last boyfriend that Kayla had was a significant amount of time, like, in between breakup, in between going on the show, and even in between, like, casting. Kayla wasn't even a part of the casting process while dating anybody. She's like saying, and I love Katie. But, like, the way that she opened up the conversation to saying Kayla had a boyfriend was so funny. She's like, I heard from my best friends, boyfriends, dogs, cousins, ex mom, neighbor. I was like, what are we talking about?
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
And then Kayla eventually was like, do you have a name? Like, and she was like, well, no, I just heard that. And, like, Kayla wasn't even, like, talking to anybody or, like, sleeping with anyone right before we left. So I'm like, I don't know. And then Kayla was pissed that I wasn't weighing in, obviously, but I was just so uncomfortable. Everyone's yelling at each other. Like, I can stand my ground for sure and say my opinions, but, like, I don't like fighting like that, and I don't like yelling, and it just makes me really uncomfortable.
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
So, like, it's probably. It probably looks like I drank, like, 18 cocktails during that finale.
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
I just kept having them fill up my glass with water and, like, chugging it because I was getting dry mouth. I was so, like, stressed. And eventually I was like, I mean, if Kayla has a boyfriend, she's really fucking great at hiding it because I sleep at her house every single day,
Host
and you're her best friend, and I'm
Alison
her best friend, and I've never even heard of this person, so I don't think she has a boyfriend.
Host
Interesting.
Alison
Okay.
Sophie
What? All right.
Alison
It was so strange. I was like. We talked after about that. I was like, where did you get that? And she was like. Like, I don't know. I just heard it.
Host
And why would she say that right then?
Alison
I was like, cat.
Sophie
Yeah. No. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Alison
All right.
Host
Okay, so let's circle back to the pinky promise.
Alison
Oh. I mean, that's clearly, like, the worst crime that's ever been committed.
Host
So she also revealed that you and Jimmy S. Made a pinky promise before her date with him that you were going to stay match. How did she find that out?
Alison
Well, I told Ally that Jimmy pinky promised me, and I said I thought it was cute that he tried to do that to give me reassurance, But I want to trust him really badly. But I'm having so much anxiety because at the anxiety, because at the end of the day, like, he can still do whatever he wants, you know? Like, Catherine's beautiful, Catherine's charismatic, Catherine's funny, she's got an insane body. She's fun to hang out with. Like, he could easily change his mind. So, like, the pinky promise, I guess, was supposed to give me comfort. And I knew that I had every reason to trust him. But, like, at the end of the day, why we ever trust any of these men that we just met? Like, he's given me trustworthy behavior thus far. But, like, if we're being realist, I had not known the kid for that long, so I was still, like, tweaking. And they made this massive deal, which is, like, ultimately why I think I was not, like, Closer to winning the show with Jimmy.
Sophie
Yeah.
Host
Yeah.
Alison
Because everyone was like, well, he didn't give her a fair shot. I'm like, did you watch the date back? Because he most certainly did give her a shot. And he said he was into her and he said he was very attracted to her. And I said that at the finale, like, guys, he could have easily switched up on me. Yeah, he did not have to do that. For all we know. And he wasn't. He was being genuine to me, which, like, that maybe shouldn't have happened. But, like, for all I knew, it didn't really mean anything. Like, he could still do whatever the fuck he wanted, 100%. He could have kissed her on the D. He could have done whatever he wanted. And when he came back, they were holding hands. And I didn't know what the fuck was gonna happen. And I did not go up to him. I was like, ooh, I wanna die. He can come up to me when he does. And we just sat there and, like, stared at each other for, like, 30 seconds. And I was like, like, sitting. Like, like, so are you going to talk? How was your date? What are you thinking? Am I going home? Like, do I need to go be talking to other people? Like, I had no idea what to think. So the fact that the Pinky Promise was such a massive deal when we were, in my opinion, one of the most genuine couples, and, like, we really did end up pursuing it outside of the house was just hurtful because I feel like it's. It took away from the validity of all of the feelings and, like, how deep and raw everything was for us. I was like, honestly, how dare all of you try to make this about you right now when, like, I'm trying to talk about, like, how deeply I care for this man. You can talk about you being hurt. That's also super valid. And, like, say your piece, say your opinions. But, like, all of the single girls would never support me in that. In that moment. They support me now. I'm friends with all of them. But just in the moment, I felt like, how dare you make all of this about you just because, like, you're upset that you didn't get picked. Like, it just hurt my feelings. Like, I didn't do it to you. I advocated for you and said, like, dude, you need to apologize to her. You cannot be talking to people like that.
Host
Like, do you think it was unfair that he didn't share that with her? Do you think he should have told her that you guys pinky promised?
Alison
Or. I mean, it's not really any of my business what their conversations are. I guess, like, he probably shouldn't have Pinky promised me at all, you know, But I don't know why he would tell her that.
Host
Yeah. So did Ally tell Catherine?
Alison
I don't know who Allie told. I think. I think it was a big game in telephone, and everybody knew about the pinky promise.
Sophie
But.
Alison
Yeah, I don't know if he should have, like, told her that or not. I think that would be sort of rude of him to be like, by the way, Pinky promised Alison I'm coming back to her.
Host
Yeah.
Alison
That would be crazy. If someone said that to me, I'd
Host
be like, yeah, but it would have at least maybe. I mean, maybe what her expectations about maybe.
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
I think he should have been, like, maybe more transparent when they were on the date about, like, that. I feel like him to Homer that he's, like, really locked in, but he's willing to try. I think that would have been more respectful. And I told him that 100.
Host
Yeah.
Alison
Or he could have been like, by the way, I am really gonna try to apply myself to this, but I really like Allison. I did promise her that, like, we're gonna stick together, and, like, this is a test that I intend on passing. Like, he could have easily said something like that.
Host
But we're here now.
Alison
We're here now. Yeah, but, like, I felt so bad for her. Yeah, she was so upset. But I also, like, felt bad for us that it really, like, took away from how much we cared for each other in that moment. And, like, while. Yes, I thought there was a big chance that Jimmy and I would win. Perfect match. Like, doesn't really matter. Yeah. Like, I can still win in, like, the real sense of the way. Like, everyone that kept saying, like, it's a game. They're playing the game. Whoever is playing the game, it's a competition. Like, it's not a competition.
Host
It's not a game.
Alison
It's not. We're not on Million Dollar Secret, babe. If it were a million dollars, I would be playing a game.
Host
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Alison
And you would never know what I was thinking. But, like, not to sound, like, super, like, cliche, but, like, you truly win by finding a connection and someone that you really genuinely care about, which is why it's important. It was important to me once I
Host
realized that just to, like, hone in on your person.
Alison
Hone in on my person.
Host
Nothing else matters.
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
And I'm open to talking to people. Like, I did have conversations at the mixer. Not that they really showed much of that. But I'm like, sorry, dog, you are not exciting me. I like Jimmy. Yeah, I feel that.
Sophie
Yeah.
Host
We also got to see you and Kayla in the end credits talking about Chris and Natalie getting together. Were you surprised by that?
Sophie
That.
Alison
That they asked us to do that
Host
by Chris and Natalie?
Alison
Oh, I was very surprised to find out about Chris and Natalie. I mean, it all came out over a wine night at Ali's apartment. And, you know, one sip of wine too many and the secret that you're supposed to be keeping accidentally slips out. And she said, well, obviously, like, Chris and Nat. And then she went, fuck. And I was like, what about them, Ally? We hang out every day. What are you talking about? And she was like, no, no, no, no, no.
Host
Yeah.
Alison
She was like, kayla, I'm so sorry.
Sophie
I've.
Alison
I've been, like, dying. Like, Ali is not a secret keeper. Ali is a very sweet, like, silly, goofy, fun girl.
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
And I guess, like, from what Chris had said, like, he was planning to tell Kayla, like, the next day. And I'm like, okay, but he's.
Host
Kayla found out with me and Ali
Alison
at that wine night.
Host
Oh, wow.
Alison
And she's, like, fuming.
Host
Was she talking to Chris at this point?
Alison
Yeah, they were talking. He had just, like, gone to go. She was working F1, like, as an influencer. I was supposed to go too, but Jimmy was here visiting me, so I didn't go. And I guess Chris was there. He said he packed an extra big bag to come to LA to stay with Kayla. And she was like, respectfully, we're not dating yet. I don't let anyone stay at my apartment that's not my boyfriend. I really would love for you to come visit. You cannot stay with me. And then he said he had to go to, like, a work thing in Arizona or something. And then I guess he went and
Sophie
stayed with Nat with that big bag.
Alison
And then I guess things, like, progress from there with them, and they ended up dating and Ally.
Host
Okay, hold on. Because Chris. This is the Chris with the money, right? Why couldn't he get a hotel?
Alison
I don't know. He has a hotel right now.
Host
And. And then he went to Arizona for a work thing and stayed with Natalie instead of getting a hotel.
Alison
To my understanding, I could have, like, minor details off, but, like. And I've talked to him about this and I've talked to her about this, but this is like, what? Ali?
Sophie
Yeah. Yeah.
Host
Wait, are they still together?
Alison
I don't want to talk about where they are in their relationship right now. I feel like that's for them to share what their relationship status is.
Host
Okay.
Alison
Girl. I don't know. I don't want to, like, out them. Yeah.
Host
Or, okay.
Alison
I don't know. They were dating.
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
Well, how does Kayla feel now? Yeah, they're good. I got invited to the Age of Attraction release party that was at the Godfrey Hotel. And I went over there because I was like, I'm gonna go see Chris. And I was not nervous. And I was like, honestly, this will be good. We can be on good terms again. I can tell him how I think he was shady, and then I can get him to apologize to Kayla. Yeah. And I told her to come to the party.
Host
Oh.
Alison
And I got there, and then I saw Chris, and I was like, ah, I regret this.
Sophie
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Alison
I was like, I'm not this confrontational. Like, so I went up to the bartender, and I was like, can I have two shots of tequila, please? And he was like, yeah, I remember you from when your show came out last year. And I was like, yes. So nice to see you.
Host
Shots.
Alison
Have those shots.
Sophie
Yeah, yeah.
Alison
And I got them. And then he walked up and he's like, hey, Al, it's so good to see you. Like, these are my friends. And then I met some of the people that he was with on his cast. Like, the girl that he was with on Age of Attraction, she was super nice.
Sophie
She's beautiful.
Host
Yeah.
Alison
And a few other friends. And then they all sort of, like, walked away. They were taking photos and, like, making tick tocks and whatnot. And I was like, I'm still mad at you. Like, I love you. I'm happy to see you. You're a best friend on the cast. But, like, dude, like, I can't be your friend.
Host
Yeah.
Alison
When you're shady to my best friend.
Host
So did Kayla not go with you to that party?
Alison
She came after me. I went alone as a solo mission initially, because she was at a dinner with a brand or something, and he was like, I know, Al. Like, I knew you were gonna say that. I fully expected that. When I walked up to you, he was like, I didn't expect to see you here. And I was like, I live right down the road. I'm right over there.
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
See this hotel from my window.
Host
Yeah. Hello.
Alison
Now, you think you wouldn't run into me in la.
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
At a Netflix event.
Sophie
Right.
Alison
And he sort of explained to me, like, how everything went down and that he fully intended to tell her. And then, like, the bomb was dropped. Ali had been holding on to the secret for a little bit, I guess, and it just slipped out when she was drinking, and that caused some issues with them. But, I mean, sometimes that just happens. It's really uncomfortable to keep secrets, you know?
Sophie
Yeah.
Host
Yeah.
Alison
But he explained a lot of things to me, and then I was like, by the way, Kayla's in the elevator. And he was like, I should have known. And I was like, yeah, so you should probably expect for her to yell at you.
Host
Oh, God.
Alison
And they talked for hours. She was ripping into him. And I was like, you're in public. It's like, stop.
Host
People don't know how you know each other.
Alison
No, literally, I was like, let's, like, reel it in a tiny bit.
Sophie
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Alison
But then, like, things calmed down, and they had a really good conversation. That, because they were drinking, I think just repeated itself, like, 800 times. They both love to talk in circles. I love my girl, and I love Chris. But they both do do that. They're, like, overthinkers, and I'm an overthinker, too, so no judgment on that. But they talked for so long, and then we hung out with him, like, the next day. And I think all went out to, like, the bars. But we're all good now.
Host
Yeah. My brain is still, like, trying to piece it all together, like, the timelines, the who's with who, the what, the what. But I guess time will tell. Before we go, what is next for you? What is next for Alice?
Alison
Listen, definitely releasing a lot more music.
Sophie
Yeah.
Alison
It's been a minute since I've released my last single. I think I got thrown off a little bit by a lot of things that happened in my life last year. I had a really tough year. A lot of family stuff. But I've been working on a lot of new stuff, and obviously, that's what I'm the most passionate about, so I'm really excited to release more music. Yeah.
Host
So what is your genre? Your music genre?
Alison
I make R B.
Sophie
Pop. Pop.
Host
Ooh. Okay. I'm gonna have to listen.
Alison
Yeah, please do.
Host
Wait, how do I find you on Spotify?
Alison
It's just Alison Ogden.
Host
Okay.
Sophie
Yeah.
Host
I might listen to you on my way home.
Alison
Please. I hope you like it.
Host
Yeah, I'm sure I will, girl.
Alison
My new stuff is, like, a little bit different.
Host
Okay.
Alison
Than the stuff that I have out. I have, like, some, like, sweet love songs that are on there, and I love those. And then I have one that's, like, sexy, like the one that I put out last. And I would say that's probably The. The closest to where I'm going.
Host
What's it called?
Alison
Sweet Surrender.
Host
Sweet Surrender. Okay. I'm gonna listen to that.
Alison
Yeah.
Sophie
Okay.
Host
So what would you say is your biggest takeaway from being on Perfect Match?
Sophie
That it's.
Alison
Honestly. Biggest takeaway is like, thank God I pushed myself out of my comfort zone because it was so out of my comfort zone, and I think I learned a lot about myself. I've had a really hard time trusting men and letting my guard down and being honest about how I feel with, like, you with a friend, with a stranger. I'll tell anybody, like, what's on my mind and how I feel, but I think it's really intimidating that, like, I could put myself out there and then potentially be shut down. And my last ex boyfriend was just so terrible to me, so I haven't had a boyfriend in years before going on the show, so it was very intimidating to me. But the takeaway is just, like, it is safe. I can do that, and it's fine, like, whatever the outcome is, you know? And obviously, Jimmy and I have had our ups and downs and are figuring things out now, but, like, if I hadn't gone there, then my life would be so different. And it was also just so amazing that I got to do with Kayla.
Host
Yeah. Do you have plans on seeing Jimmy soon?
Alison
I think he's gonna be here on Monday.
Host
Oh, okay. That's exciting. Yeah.
Alison
I'm excited.
Host
Okay. Well, I hope you enjoy your time with him.
Alison
Thank you.
Host
And I'm so grateful again that you came here on what's the reality? Like, when I tell you I was rooting for you and your relationship, like, I being a part of it, like, I know what it looks like and when it feels like. And watching you guys, I was like, I know exactly how she feels right now in this moment, so I'm really happy for you. And however things pan out with you and Jimmy, like, you are a superstar. Regardless of anything and anyone, you are alone, you shine so bright. So I'm really proud of you, really excited for you. Can't wait to listen to your music. And if there's any more tea or any more rumors or anything that you want to clear up, you have a spot right here.
Alison
Like, let me think. Also, thank you so much for having me. You are so fun to talk to.
Host
Thank you.
Alison
Sometimes I feel like it's, like, so awkward when you go do a podcast. Yeah. If you, like, don't have, like, the right, like.
Host
Yeah.
Alison
Energy with people. But I am.
Host
It helps that I've been in your shoes.
Alison
Yeah, of course. And you're just, like, nice and fun and cool to talk to.
Host
So thank you.
Alison
Love you.

Because I was so amazed by how quickly he replaced our air ducts, I knew I could trust him to change Pop Pops tube while I was on vacation. Make it quick, young man.
Alison
Aw.

Host: Amber Desiree (AD)
Guests: Sophie (Love is Blind UK, Perfect Match S4), Alison (Perfect Match S4)
Release Date: June 10, 2026
This explosive double-interview episode offers an unfiltered, behind-the-scenes look at everything that happened with Sophie and Alison after Netflix’s Perfect Match Season 4. Host Amber Desiree creates a safe, open space as both women talk candidly about romance, breakups, drama you never saw on screen, cast dynamics, and the after-effects of reality TV fame.
Main themes:
(Timestamps: 01:00–41:30)
“Me and Dave are no longer together.” (03:56, Sophie)
“It was really hard to watch back... such a lovely journey, but... yeah, also very, very fun.” (03:00, Sophie)
“We decide to call it a day in the Maldives when it’s, like, the most romantic place on planet Earth.” (05:36, Sophie)
“Anybody listening—if you want to go to the Maldives, just make sure you want to shag your partner, because there’s honestly not a lot to do unless…” (34:48, Sophie)
“Love is Blind wasn’t a very positive experience… I got a lot of hate from the public… nothing truly prepares you for the magnitude of hate.” (06:39–07:20, Sophie)
“I am just in hysterics every single day. I had the best time of my life… it made me fall in love with that side of things again.” (08:11, Sophie)
“I was very light-hearted… didn’t even pack enough clothes for the whole thing because I was like, no way I’m gonna still be in there. Yeah. And here we are. Bloody won the show.” (10:45–11:56, Sophie)
“On our first day, he had me crying in laughter about something, and it was me embarrassing myself.” (15:25, Sophie)
“I’m so competitive … But after the fifth, I was like, you know what? I don’t even care about winning anymore. I’m out.” (18:41, Sophie)
“There were some very questionable kisses… someone, like, lifted my bum up…” (19:11, Sophie)
“I tried not to laugh in his face. … We would still be there probably, if I didn’t laugh.” (21:41, Sophie)
“Everyone was just gunning for everyone, really. And then I’m just like, la, la, la.” (27:07, Sophie)
“We’re in a tie with Natalie and Yemin and we had to do a redraw to be announced winners… The night before we had a conversation, ‘Oh, Dave, I was like, we actually have a chance of winning here.’ We never thought that we would win.” (28:57–31:47, Sophie)
“Communication fizzled... We're just different people in the real world. Like, we both have fun, but if you take the fun out and add stress, we’re just not compatible.” (32:34–36:11, Sophie)
“Newsflash, I'm single. And that's going down a treat. My... I've got a few blue ticks. Life's great.” (37:31, Sophie)
“I feel like no one really understands why we win… everyone's like, ‘What the hell?’ …But that was our journey.” (41:17, Sophie)
“I feel like I would be hilarious on Big Brother or The Circle.” (48:35, Sophie)
(Timestamps: 53:15–87:50)
“I was really, genuinely surprised that we didn’t win. … Y’all, like, we were really gonna date. Like, we weren’t lying.” (53:26–54:06, Alison)
“He had a very hard time adjusting to real life… It is a really difficult adjustment… His first show.” (56:14, Alison)
“He told me he was going to move to LA. He did not move to LA.” (56:15, Alison)
“He apologized to me in length—if I wrote down a book of what I wanted to hear, he literally verbatim said everything that I could have asked him to say to me.” (60:07, Alison)
“‘So you want me to be your girlfriend?’ Yeah, I just had to give him shit.” (62:41, Alison)
“The only thing he had critique for the editing team was that they didn’t show, like, me being silly as much. ...That’s like why I fell for you.” (64:10–65:15, Alison)
“I guess time will tell… But he feels good about it.” (63:24, Alison)
“You truly win by finding a connection and someone that you really genuinely care about.” (78:53, Alison)
“They made this massive deal, which is... why I think I was not closer to winning the show with Jimmy… It took away from the validity of all of the feelings... I felt like, ‘How dare you make all of this about you?’” (74:40–76:55, Alison)
“Ali is not a secret keeper… one sip of wine too many, and the secret... accidentally slips out.” (79:39–80:10, Alison)
“I did read text messages from prior to the finale that Mackenzie had sent to somebody... planning to rip me apart and call me a mean girl. And I was like, damn.” (66:20–66:56, Alison)
“It is safe. I can do that, and it’s fine, whatever the outcome is.” (86:38, Alison)
“Thank god I pushed myself out of my comfort zone... my life would be so different.” (86:38–87:40, Alison)
On Why Dave & Sophie Didn’t Work:
“We're just different people in the real world. Like, we both have fun, but if you take the fun out and you've got stress... we just do things differently… I need someone that's like, ‘Sophie, shut up, like, sit down,’ and Dave would never tell me to shut up...” (36:11, Sophie)
On the Reality of Love & Reality TV:
“You truly win by finding a connection and someone that you really genuinely care about… If it were a million dollars, I would be playing a game.” (78:53, Alison)
On the Pressure of Dating After Reality TV:
“It's so hard to date when you have a show bloody coming out... I'm like, oh, yeah, by the way, I kiss four guys at a mixer. That's gonna come out.” (37:31, Sophie)
About 'Three Shots of Chaos':
“Me, Alison, and Kayla. We call ourselves the Three Shots of Chaos... it was never our chaos. We were just sat there.” (47:14, Sophie)
On Production & Editing:
“I feel like no one really understands why we win… everyone’s like, ‘What the hell?’… But that was our journey. But we do have serious moments too… There’s so many moments where I just feel like they should’ve added it in” (41:17, Sophie)
