What's up everybody? I hope you're having a great day. It's about to get so much better because I have Christian on the podcast. Your favorite guest.
Christian Huff
It's been a while since I've been on. I'm very grateful to be back.
Sadie Robertson
It has not been a while. I think you were on last week.
Christian Huff
I think I was too, but thanks for having me back.
Sadie Robertson
People loved our last episode with Jacob and Bella. It was so good.
Christian Huff
They did.
Sadie Robertson
So I decided to bring you back.
Christian Huff
Yes.
Sadie Robertson
I had to give the viewers what.
Christian Huff
They want, and we had a cancellation, but here I am. We're back. I'm always happy to be hot in the bullpen.
Sadie Robertson
So anytime we have a cancellation, then Christian gets called in, and he's like, just for once, Kaya called in just because. Just because you want me on and always want you want you do.
Christian Huff
I know. I was just joking when I said that.
Sadie Robertson
Okay, good. Well, we got some DMS to answer. We got some really fun ones. All of these are fun, so don't get too serious on me unless you want to.
Christian Huff
I'm not gonna get serious if you.
Sadie Robertson
Want to be serious. So let's be serious.
Christian Huff
Today's been a great day so far, so we're just gonna laugh.
Sadie Robertson
Okay. We're just gonna laugh it off, y'all. We actually did get some really fun questions from you guys, so thank you. General kind of consensus of all the questions. A lot of baby questions, a lot of Doug Dynasty, the revival questions, a lot of podcast questions, which are always fun. So we're just gonna roll through it. We'll start with baby questions, because obviously it's top of mind right now.
Christian Huff
I actually love how you do that. And you can't really see it yet.
Sadie Robertson
You can see my bump, but not.
Christian Huff
Not that you just did it.
Sadie Robertson
Not the way that I just did it. Yeah, but I just popped. It was actually hilarious. I was wearing this little, like, free people movement. And if you want to sponsor my pregnanc is my pitch to you, because I wear free people movement all the time, and I'm gonna keep pitching at every angle. I tagged them on Instagram. I'm letting them know in the podcast, if y'all want to help me. Go ahead and let them know, because that is the best pregnant wear. A lot of people also ask me what kind of places I shot when I'm pregnant. Free people movement. Anyways, beyond the point. I was walking out, and Christian was like, whoa, when did that happen? Because my belly just literally popped out of nowhere.
Christian Huff
Yeah, I know.
Sadie Robertson
It was weird. It was kind of different than the last two. I feel like it was a little bit more gradual, but this was, like, I wasn't showing, and then I straight up was showing. Anyways, that was kind of a fun, fun thing in my life lately. I have my anatomy scan today, so that's fun.
Christian Huff
Yep, that'll be fun.
Sadie Robertson
A lot of good Things. Okay, so question, Christian, are you nervous about adding a third baby to the family?
Christian Huff
Oh, that's a good question. I am, just because I think we're in a good groove right now. A good routine, which, you know, not that I'm not excited about the third. I think it's going to be incredible. Yeah. It's just back to the readjustment stage, you know, not sleeping, just trying to figure out how to do life with three, whether it's traveling and all those different things. But, yeah, I'm. I'm prepared for it. Yeah. It's just gonna be different because I feel like we're so in a groove right now with. With two.
Sadie Robertson
Yeah.
Christian Huff
Which I know. You know, we were like that with.
Sadie Robertson
One, so we'll find our groove.
Christian Huff
We will find our new groove.
Sadie Robertson
I love that answer because it's so you. And also, it's, like, so practical. I'm like, I'm so sure. I haven't even thought about that because I was just gonna be like.
Christian Huff
You didn't thought about the fact I.
Sadie Robertson
Thought about, like, oh, we have to figure out how to travel with three, and we're not going to sleep again. Like, oh, yeah. I've just been like, I'm so excited.
Christian Huff
You're all going to take up your own row, and I'll be. I'll be on the aisle seated next to you.
Sadie Robertson
Oh, my gosh. That is so wild.
Christian Huff
Or we'll do two and two. But, yeah, I'm imagining the kids are going with it.
Sadie Robertson
Their mom. They love you so much. They really actually do. But they are so attached to me. They are mama's girls.
Christian Huff
But they try everything. I can, though.
Sadie Robertson
You do, and that's what I mean. You're so sweet. Like, you're, like the best girl that ever. And they genuinely love to play with you, but if they have having to choose who to sit by, it will never be me. It's me every time. Maybe our little baby will just go with you. You can have.
Christian Huff
With all due respect, I'm hoping you have the newborn. I'll sit next to honey in the plane. But you can have the.
Sadie Robertson
That's so funny.
Christian Huff
Be attached to you.
Sadie Robertson
Yeah.
Christian Huff
Oh, no.
Sadie Robertson
Oh, we just spoiled it. Okay, again, technical difficulties.
Christian Huff
That would be fun.
Sadie Robertson
Okay, y'all, we know the gender of the baby, but we're not announcing the gender of the baby, and we keep accidentally saying it.
Christian Huff
And so I love that every time you keep wearing blue.
Sadie Robertson
I know. Oh, I'm throwing everybody. Everyone might think it's a boy because of that but is it a boy or is it a girl? I don't know. Whenever I wear a blue, though, in my captions, I use pink emojis.
Christian Huff
That is true.
Sadie Robertson
Just to really confuse people. Well, here's the thing. We filmed our gender reveal, and it was such a funny episode that. And not. It wasn't meant to be funny. It was meant to just be a sweet gender reveal. I can't spoil it. Anyways, it's so funny that it might just happen to be the last episode of season one. Therefore, we're gonna have to wait to tell everybody until the episode comes out. Because it'd be so funny if y'all don't actually know what the baby is until you see the episode. However, the other funny thing about it is due to, like, the timing of when the episode might come out, it might come out literally, like a week before we actually had the baby. And I'm terrible at keeping secrets, and so I'm a little worried about myself being in front of so many microphones and not spoiling this.
Christian Huff
We just did spoil it. But.
Sadie Robertson
Yeah, but this is pre recorded. I'm talking about, like, on stage or like, I did it the other day. I was a K love recording, but it was radio. And thankfully it was pre recorded and I did it. I. I used shoot. Yep. But anyways, that's why we're not saying it, because it would genuinely be so much fun if we wait because it's such a good episode and I can't wait for everybody to see it. Am I nervous about baby number three? I kind of just answered this. Like, my personality tends to be like, it's gonna be great. Like, this is gonna be so awesome. I can't wait. I'm so excited. And then I'm like, oh, yeah, that is gonna be really hard. Yeah, that is gonna be hard. So it's not that I don't think it will be hard because, of course, that's just part of it. You know, there will be things we navigate and we learn. But like, you said, like, but we did the first time and then we did the second time. We'll do it the third time. I have heard a lot of people say, though, that the jump from two to three is the hardest. I actually have heard a lot of people say that. Harder than 0 to 1 people say it because. Well, I don't know. I think zero to one was like, the most extreme, like, shell shock factor. But two to three people say is the hardest because you're outnumbered, you know? And then they say, like, from that point on, you're good. Like, you have three. You can have as many as you want, but the 2, 3 jump is dramatic. Okay, now we'll let y'all know if that's true. I don't believe that for myself or for us. I believe this could be great. It's gonna be great. It's gonna be awesome.
Christian Huff
Next question.
Sadie Robertson
Okay, next question. Are Honey and Haven excited for baby number three? They are thrilled. Literally, it's the cutest thing ever. Honey loves my belly. She's like, let me kiss it. I love your belly. You look so cute, Mommy. Is that where the baby is?
Christian Huff
That was a good impersonation.
Sadie Robertson
And the baby's kicking now, so she, like, loves to feel the baby kicking. So cute.
Christian Huff
And, yeah, any baby we see in public, they always want to go up to it.
Sadie Robertson
Oh, yeah, they're excited. Yesterday we actually were with this little baby, and this baby was so cute. She was, like, really, really tan and had really dark, long hair. They're like, is this what the baby's gonna look like? I was like, yeah, except for they might be bald and really, really pale. Like, y'all don't expect them to have hair, because they probably won't. We have a. With hair. That would be shocking.
Christian Huff
So different.
Sadie Robertson
I know. Which. I. I looked like that baby. I was. Had a lot of hair, but our babies just happen to look just like you. So, you know, that's fine. No big deal. Not like I carried them for nine months. Okay.
Christian Huff
I have strong genes.
Sadie Robertson
Yeah, you do. And I. What? I really thought I did, too, because me, Jo, Link, and Bella all look just alike. And then. Yeah. Nope. Just didn't happen. That's okay, though. We're having more. A third. Maybe this baby will look just. Just like me. How sweet.
Christian Huff
I hope. I hope that. I hope.
Sadie Robertson
But you know what I said? I literally said this right before we had Honey. I was like, I hope she looks just like you, because you're so cute as a kid. And I said it and it happened, and I. Identical, obviously. Like, our girls are so stinking cute that I love that they look like you. And I'm like, maybe we should just keep them looking like you. Seems to be working.
Christian Huff
The next one comes out looks just like you. Disappointed that it looks like yourself?
Sadie Robertson
No, I would never be disappointed. That'd be so cute. That was rude. You're going to get flavored. Cut that out.
Christian Huff
No, keep it.
Sadie Robertson
I can handle it. But the podcast audience cannot handle your jokes on me. Should we. Should we address that? Should we address that every time you're on the podcast, people think that you're rude to me.
Christian Huff
Maybe that's why they always do so well, because people just like flaming me. No, that was a complete joke. If the baby looks just like you, that'd be the greatest thing ever.
Sadie Robertson
This is sweet. That is a good recovery.
Christian Huff
What? You're. We're married. I think you're the hottest person alive.
Sadie Robertson
So that is really sweet.
Christian Huff
Thank you.
Sadie Robertson
It would be really sweet to have many me. Like, I. Again, my girls are the cutest girls in the whole world. And it's so fun that they look like their daddy, actually. That's so precious. But of course, like, whenever you dream of having a baby, you know, you. You're like. It would be so fun for them to, like, have resemblance of you. And it's just really funny because I think that I see myself in the girl, so that, like, makes me happy.
Christian Huff
I think Haven looks like you.
Sadie Robertson
But, like, it's funny because people come up to me, and it's not just that. They say, oh, your girls look like your husband. They literally say, when. Whenever I had Honey, they would say, I mean, she looks nothing like you. Like, it is. I've never seen a baby look more like their dad than this child. And like, that. I'm like, okay, okay. And then it was so funny because she has brown eyes. So, like, hello, I have brown eyes. And this person was like, oh, she has brown eyes like Christian's mom. I was like, the one thing. The one thing you could have said.
Christian Huff
She'S a dimple like me.
Sadie Robertson
She does have a dimple like me. And I. And she acts just like me. She's like my personal.
Christian Huff
She looks like me. Her personality.
Sadie Robertson
And it's funny because now that she can talk and, like, understands what's going on, people are like, you look like your daddy. She's like, no, I look like my mommy. So thank you.
Christian Huff
Thank you. You told her to say that.
Sadie Robertson
And then Haven does look like me, but she's just completely different coloring, blue eyes, blonde hair, light skin. Like, so you don't think she looks like me, but if you look, she really does. She really actually looks like Two Mama, which is very sweet because Two Mama, none of Two Mama's kids looked like her. None of her grandkids looked at her. And then her great grandchild comes out looking just like her. So I might have to wait 50 years for that to happen for me, too. And that's fine. I hope not. When Honey and Haven watch something, let's be real. It's got to be entertaining, but I also want it to reflect my faith and values. That can feel impossible these days. I've been there scrolling for something good that doesn't leave me cringing in two minutes. But y'all, Minnow is a total game changer. Minnow is our go to for Christian kids and family content, and it's trusted by families all over the world. So whether you've got toddlers or tweens, Minnow makes it simple to bring faith into your everyday routine in a way that your kids are actually going to love it. One of the biggest things that we're called to do as parents is to guide our kids into a relationship with Jesus. And with Minnow, you don't have to do that alone. Their shows, devotionals and Bible content makes it so much easier to experience Jesus together as a family. What I love most is that their content is not just wholesome, it's also very intentional. It sparks real curiosity about God in the Bible, and it keeps the girls laughing, learning and soaking up truth. Plus they cover topics that actually matter to kids right now in ways that are super relatable. So it's perfect for family movie nights, sick days, or those moments where you just need like five minutes. We love the Laugh and Grow Bible series. I love the Young David series, the Dead Sea Squirrels, which is so much fun, Veggie Tales, and honestly, so many. My girls also love God's Greenhouse. There's just so many cute ones on the show that I know you guys are gonna absolutely love. And also it's just such a great way, like I said, to teach your kids the Bible. And while your kids learn, you're gonna be surprised how much you learn Christian. And I actually have learned so much from the Laughing Girl series. So if you've been looking for screen time that you don't have to feel guilty about, Minnow is your answer. Visit gomenow.com to start your free trial today. Plus, you can use the code WHOA to get your first month for free. This is a web only exclusive offer, so make sure to go@gomenow.com with the code WHOA to get your first month for free. Okay, what are some names that you like but won't be using? For Baby number three, I wanted to ask this question because I'm genuinely interested in names that you liked but won't be using because you never really threw out a bunch of names. This is how our name process worked. I throw out names and you're like no, and then one will stick. Or actually the name that we're choosing, I threw out. You said no. I said pray about it. We prayed about it. And look at what the Lord did. But say the name that we were going to use. Should we say that because that was your idea.
Christian Huff
No, because I'm just going to give the gender away.
Sadie Robertson
It's kind of gender neutral.
Christian Huff
No.
Sadie Robertson
Okay.
Christian Huff
I think.
Sadie Robertson
Sorry, friends.
Christian Huff
I think it's a more feel.
Sadie Robertson
Yeah, well, no. Okay. I know we're not doing the gender away, but these were the names we came up with before even knowing what the gender was. Truly. And I will say it was way easier to think of girl names for us than boy names because we have two girls. So we had a lot of names that we didn't use with Honey and Haven that we were like, oh. And then we've had a boy name since before we even had honey. Like, if it's going to be a boy, this is what we're gonna name the boy. And we have never changed that. So we didn't even really throw out boy names because we've always known, like, that's the boy name. You know, the. The boy name that I do love that we aren't using. Like, because we would use this name or even in the future, like, I don't know if we'll ever use it. I love the name Champion. Always love that name. And call him Champ. I think it's very cute, but we kind of, like, move past that.
Christian Huff
Well, with my competitive personality type, I don't think Champion would be setting up a son for success.
Sadie Robertson
Yeah. And I get that. You know, you do have to consider. You need to consider who you are and what you might be passing down. So Champion might be a little much. But I've always thought Champion was really cute. Call him Champ. My grandpa, my great grandpa. This is another one. I love his name. Like, we call him Pepa. Shaq. So I've always loved the name Shaq, cuz it reminds me of him. So, like, there's like sweet names like that that I do like, but we've had, like, a boy name we've always loved and girl names that we loved that we're not using. So I love the name Pepper, but I feel like having a honey and a pepper is just a little too much. Like two items in the pantry.
Christian Huff
It's too much.
Sadie Robertson
It's too much. But I do like that name. I like the name Lennon. Just think it's really pretty. I like the name. Well, we love. Do you want to say the name that we love? But we're not gonna use. I was gonna say use it in the future.
Christian Huff
Yeah, maybe. I was gonna say Oakley.
Sadie Robertson
Oh, we love the name Oakley. We've always liked the name Oakley, but the problem is, is that we were gonna name Haven Oakley, and then we decided to name her Haven, which was, like, so the Lord and confirmation. Well, in the meantime, we, like, Honey named all her baby dolls Oakley. And so by the time that this baby came around, we were like. I feel like Oakley is so, like, overused in our house with all the baby dolls that kind of lost its, like, it kind of lost its power. That's why Oakley got down the totem pole. But we like a lot of.
Christian Huff
I still love the name. Yeah.
Sadie Robertson
A good amount of names. Okay, let's move on. This is just kind of a curveball question that doesn't have to do with the categories we're talking about, but I thought it was sweet. What was your favorite memory from last year?
Christian Huff
Hmm. Are you going to be upset if it's not about.
Sadie Robertson
If it's a hunting memory?
Christian Huff
No, it's not a hunting memory. No, I was going to say going to Israel.
Sadie Robertson
Oh, that's sweet. No, that was one of my favorite memories for you.
Christian Huff
Thank you.
Sadie Robertson
It was.
Christian Huff
Yeah. No, going to Israel last year was.
Sadie Robertson
So outside of your comfort zone.
Christian Huff
So I was out of my comfort zone. I think it was super beneficial for my faith. Getting to go do it with a bunch of guys was just. It was a great. Just a great boys trip. It was a ton of fun.
Sadie Robertson
That's where you get your tat.
Christian Huff
That's where I got my tat. That everyone questions what it is.
Sadie Robertson
People ask Christian about the tattoo all the time.
Christian Huff
It's a ancient lion stamp, but it looks like a sad cheetah.
Sadie Robertson
Literally looks like a sad cheetah.
Christian Huff
Just calm down.
Sadie Robertson
It's.
Christian Huff
It's a lion.
Sadie Robertson
But it's so funny because this is why I love this trip for you so much, because Kirschen is not. He's not the most spontaneous person in the world.
Christian Huff
I am spontaneous sometimes.
Sadie Robertson
Yeah. I was waiting for them. But I can be spontaneous. I can be, but rarely. And so when you got the call to come to Israel, it was like, within a few days, like, get on the plan, go.
Christian Huff
Yeah, it was two days from when. When my buddy called me.
Sadie Robertson
That's not your personality type to be like, yes. Well, you like to plan.
Christian Huff
Yes. But if I was single, I would have been. I would have gone in a heartbeat. So it's.
Sadie Robertson
But you also, like, getting a little bit nervous about Things like, you don't want to.
Christian Huff
I did not want to leave you and the kids for a week.
Sadie Robertson
Yeah. And Israel wasn't in a great state.
Christian Huff
Yeah, it was back when. Which it's still not a great state.
Sadie Robertson
Yeah.
Christian Huff
The time when I went, it was, like, heightened. It was very, very not safe to be there. But I had peace about going. And. Yeah, no. So for me, the main reservation about going was not wanting to leave you and the kids for an extended amount of time in the. In the not safe part of the country.
Sadie Robertson
Yeah. It's so crazy because I was like, you should do it. I felt peace about the whole time. And then this is really sweet advice because this might help somebody out there. Whenever you called, didn't you call Louis?
Christian Huff
I called, like, every mentor I could.
Sadie Robertson
Think possible, and he was like, what did Sadie say? And you were like, if she has peace about it, and you should go. Like, I thought that was really good. Whenever it comes to, like, a marriage decision. And now, obviously, there are going to be some times in your life where you're making a decision where one doesn't have peace. And it's like, okay, that doesn't necessarily mean it's a no, but let's keep praying into it. But I do think there is something to that. Like, if you're praying about it, and I. I would be the one that might. Would be a little bit nervous about you doing that. You'd be gone for a week. You'd be in a place that's not super, super safe, all the different things. But the whole time, I was like, you should absolutely do this. Like, this could be so good for you. And what do we talk about so much? The safest place you can be is in the center of God's will. And that felt like. So in the center of God's will for what he had for you, based on so many conversations we had leading up into that invitation. Like, I remember that invitation being, like, confirmation for things we were praying about. And I think that sometimes life works like that. God works like that where, like, you pray for something, you pray for something, you pray for something, and then God gives you this answer that's, like, not exactly what you thought, but it's, like, so clearly what you've been asking for. And then we hesitate to take it, and it's like, no. Like, this is literally what we've been praying for. And that's why I feel like you should do it.
Christian Huff
Yeah, it's good. What was your favorite memory?
Sadie Robertson
So that was a really good one. Christian I love that. My favorite memory from last year. So one of my favorite things is after Ello conference, we take a trip with our girls.
Christian Huff
Oh, that was such a good one.
Sadie Robertson
I thought you might say that one. But Israel was so good because that was like a life changing trip for you. But yeah, we always take a trip with our girls. And last year, right after conference, which conference was like, so amazing. So this is kind of coupled in between, like, conference memory being so incredible. So many people getting baptized. It was just like the most beautiful, heavenly thing. And then we flew to Malibu with the girls and my grandparents. And sometimes we just take that trip with just the four of us. But we were like, you know, it would be fun for my grandparents to come. They needed to be in California for something else too. And I was also speaking at Pepperdine at the end of the week, so we just kind of made a vacation out of it in between. And the first, like three days before my grandparents got there, we just like, literally chilled. Like, we went to the park with the kids every day. And it was just so nice to go from such a busy time to such like a still time with our family. And then my grandparents met out with us and we went to Disneyland and we did the bippity boppity boo thing for Honey. That was one of my favorite memories ever. Like, seeing her be the little princess she is in Haven just like be bopping around like, it was just the best.
Christian Huff
Haven wanted to do it so bad, but she was. She was way too young.
Sadie Robertson
It was the best memory. Like, that will be one of my favorite memories for life. So that was very, very fun.
Christian Huff
Great.
Sadie Robertson
Yeah, very fun. Okay, now we'll get into some show questions. We got a lot of Duck Dynasty questions. Well, not a lot, but just a couple. I mean, there was a lot.
Christian Huff
Pulled a couple from a lot.
Sadie Robertson
What a couple. Christian, maybe.
Christian Huff
Right.
Sadie Robertson
What is your favorite thing that you remember? Well, both of us. But what is you and Christian's favorite thing that you remember about Uncle Sigh? You just had a funny memory with Uncle Si.
Christian Huff
Yeah, we actually just filmed something really funny together. So excited for that episode to come out and for people to see what we were getting to do together. Yeah, I never would have thought that, you know, I would be filming with Uncle Sigh when I was back watching the show. But yeah, we just filmed something really funny together, so it was funny. It was nice for people to see.
Sadie Robertson
That because the other day Uncle Sigh was like talking to me and he was like, you know, Jacob, Bella's husband, he. He's one of us. He. He fits right in. Because Jacob is like, he's weird. You know, y'all know, y'all saw Jacob on this podcast.
Christian Huff
I don't know if that was a compliment.
Sadie Robertson
I know that that's up for question. Like, sorry, Jacob saying, Jacob is like, him. Okay, so you take that. Whatever you want to take that, however you want to take it. And then he was like, but Christian, your husband, he's like, he's quiet. He's a quiet guy. He's very reserved. And I was like, well, he is a little bit more quiet. But I was like, I think he. He really respects you, Uncle Psy. And when I said that, Uncle Size started laughing so hard, like, it was, like, so unexpected that I was like, you respect him. I was like, but you do. Like, you respect him as a hunter, as a husband, as, like, a Christian man. Like, Uncle Sai is absolutely crazy. He says, like, the craziest stuff, but he is a very unfiltered person. Like, he is a solid, consistent, like, loves. The Lord is always gonna preach to you. Has been married for, I don't even know, over 50 years. Like, he's so funny. He's a great hunter. So, like, I feel like you really like being around him.
Christian Huff
No, I do. Yeah. He's hilarious. And, yeah, I think even back, you know, when I was watching Duck Dynasty 12 years ago, however long ago that was. Yeah, he was, like, one of my favorite people in the show, obviously, because I think he was one of everyone's favorite people, but he was just always so funny, and he would always do things that you just never thought somebody would be doing, and it was just the way he did it was hilarious. And then, yeah, now we're getting to do things together, so it's really. It's a full circle moment.

This is just like back in the day before we even started filming Duck Dynasty. I was pretty young and it was me and Rebecca were at the house and this was like. So my sister Rebecca, she's from Taiwan and at first she was just an exchange student and then like she actually moved in with our family. But when she was just an exchange student, she didn't really speak great English. So this is like back when Rebecca first got here, didn't really speak English. And Rebecca's like, best friend was over too, that she had really just met in high school. And so is them two and me. And we were at home, they were by ourselves. And I always, like, I hated being home by myself. And, like, we're just hanging out and all of a sudden, like, we hear the door open and we're like, what was that? Then we hear a man in the kitchen. And so we're freaking out. Like, we are straight up, like, there is a man in the house. Like, what do we do? We, like, like, are calling my parents on the phone. And this was like, when we had a home phone, you know? So I calling mom and dad on the phone, like, there's somebody in the house. And. But, like, it was weird because they were, like, talking to themselves. Like, they just stayed in the kitchen. They were just talking to themselves. And so I. I go. I. I think it's Uncle Sai. Like, it sounds like Uncle Sai. He's like, go, just go, look. I'm like, well, what if it's not? And I peek around the corner and Uncle Psych literally came into our house, sat down on the kitchen table and started playing a game of poker against himself. And he was like, no, no, I fooled Jack. I'm all in. Boys, like, just starts acting like he's playing out an entire game of poker. And I walk in like, uncle Sal, you scared us so badly. What are you doing here? He's like, well, I thought it was poker night, but it's obviously not. So I thought I'd just stay and play by myself. Himself. What? I mean, it was at that point I thought, this man is crazy.
Christian Huff
You should have recreate. Y'all should have recreated that for the show.
Sadie Robertson
But you know what's so funny? Like, we knew he was crazy. Like, that was weird. And then I remember as a kid, I've told him this since. So this is not, like, news to him. But he would always take a nap at Peppa Phil's house. And, like, whenever we would go play at Pebble Film MLK's All Her Stay the Night, we would think it was so funny when he would take a nap. We would all hide, like, behind this. You know how they have that screen door? It's like you're inside but you're not, like, in the house yet. There's, like, a glass door. We would hide behind it and wait for him to wake up, because every time he'd wake up, he'd stretch and he would just toot it around. We just thought it was so funny because we just thought he was so crazy. We're like, this man is crazy.
Christian Huff
Well, he is crazy.
Sadie Robertson
So then it was so funny. And, like, thinking back to, like, we were so country like, just the country. As kids, we would have to be outside. So we would build. Build forts out there. Remember what camp. And not. I'm not saying, like. Like forts. Like, you're thinking, like, we had wood hammer and nails, and we would, like, hammer it to the trees, build these forts. We would play. Back in the day, Duck Commander was actually at Mimo K and Pebble Field's house. They just had this warehouse, and that's, like, where Duck Commander was all shipped out of that and our house in our garage. And there'd be this big, big boxes, and we'd play. We would play hide and seek in the boxes, and we would just blast music we should not have been listening to. And we thought we were so cool. But my favorite thing that we did down there was we would play poker because we learned from our parents. But we didn't have chips, so we used dog food. That was how we played poker.
Christian Huff
Dog food with poker.
Sadie Robertson
So we just grew up, like, so country. And I just remember Uncle Si was so weird. And then when the show happened. Because here's the thing. You don't get a reality TV show unless you're weird. You see, you gotta look around at the other reality TV stars, and you gotta realize the company you're in, everyone is a little off, okay? And I'm saying we are, too. But that's how we grew up. And so we knew my mom, when she would watch reality tv, she was like, willie, your family has potential for this. Like, y'all are a little different. And you build duck calls, like, for a business that's funny. And so anyways, they pitched a show. It was actually on the Outdoor Channel first, but because it did so well, got picked up at A E. And Uncle Sigh was not in the mix of characters. Like, he was not one of the people. Because, again, like, he was crazy, but didn't realize that that crazy was going to be so funny, like, on tv. And they came down to film, and Uncle Sai, I think, did, like, one little scene, and everyone was like, why isn't he in this? Like, he's hilarious. Because, again, kind of the more extreme you are reality tv, like, the better. And you don't have to ask him to be extreme. He just is extreme. And so it's just funny. It's so funny to see how he has really just exploded.
Christian Huff
Gone from your weird, crazy uncle to the guy I just famous Uncle Sigh.
Sadie Robertson
Yeah. Who freaked me out, busting in my house, playing poker by himself. And now everyone's like, where's Uncle Psy? Does he really drink tea all the time? He really does. Is he really that crazy? He really is.
Christian Huff
He's crazier.
Sadie Robertson
What's your favorite part about filming Duck Dynasty now than from when you were younger? I think there's a lot of things that are different now than when I was younger. I mean, I don't think. I know my whole life is so different than when I was younger. One thing that I am excited about with this show that I feel like I didn't get the chance to do in the other show is, like, in their show, I was a young kid, like a teenager. And yes, it's reality tv, but you're also playing into. Into the character of yourself. Right? So being the teenager, I'm always, like, annoyed at dad and, like, on my phone, all that kind of stuff. And I'm so not like that anymore. And so I'm like. I don't want to be, like, annoyed. I don't want to be, like. Like, I'm glad I get to be myself, like, fully myself, and you're. And I'm not just, like, in. In these moments as, like, a teenage person. Like, I'm in these moments as me as a person, as a mom, as a daughter, as a friend, as a wife. Like, I get to be myself. And our family gets to, like, really show who we are. And it's just really sweet. And it's also just really sweet to spend so much quality time with our family doing something so fun. Like, we spend a lot of time as a family in general. But, like, last night, yesterday, we filmed for so long from, like, noon to 9:30 out in this funny location that y'all will see later based off this funny thing that my dad had us doing. And it was like, when would we ever do this? You know? Like, when would we ever do this all together if we weren't doing a show together? So there's just some really sweet things that I feel like I'm a lot more grateful for now that I overlooked whenever I was younger.
Christian Huff
That was a great answer. I thought you were gonna say filming with me, but I loved your answer.
Sadie Robertson
I said with her family.
Christian Huff
You did? I just thought. I just thought you might, like, specifically single, you know, like, getting to do it with you. It's just been so much fun.
Sadie Robertson
That would have been.
Christian Huff
But that's okay. It's okay. It is fun to do with you.
Sadie Robertson
Okay, let me say this, though, because you do bring up a good point. I would say knowing who I am now. You know what I mean, is, like, just A lot more fun because I'm not overthinking, or I'm like, if we're doing something like that doesn't feel like me. I'll just be like, hey, this doesn't really feel like me, you know? But I say that to say I think I am so secure in who I am because of our marriage and because of being a mom. Like, I'm held accountable to that now because I have a family that I'm like, that knows me and loves me and reminds me of who I am, which is just such a gift. Like, as a teenager, yes, I had my parents who are doing that. But as a teenager, you're navigating so much. You're trying to figure out who you are. And I think I just was so in my head that I missed out on enjoying it. Like, I'm enjoying it now. Now I'm like, this is such a gift. This is so fun. I'm not thinking about those little things or what are people gonna think or how are people gonna see me. I've worked through that, you know, and in some ways, we've been working through that with you. You know? I mean, you want to speak to that a little bit?
Christian Huff
Not really. I mean, yeah. I mean, I've. I've had to work through my own things with the show of. Yeah, just some different identity things, and. Yeah, some things I've kind of wrestled. But I'm in a. I'm in a good spot now.
Sadie Robertson
You're in a great spot. Let's be vulnerable for a minute. Vulnerable.
Christian Huff
I am being vulnerable.
Sadie Robertson
I watched that. So me and Christian watched the show. And this guy, every time I said vulnerable, he would like. He would like Rush. There he goes. Vulnerable, vulnerable, vulnerable. That's how we say that. All the Vulnerable. Okay, but for real. Okay, but for real, let's be vulnerable with the people, because we're about to go into a section of podcast questions, and I think we should address this part of the vulnerability. And the fear is that even when you're on this podcast, you get met with criticism of people misunderstanding who you are, misunderstanding your humor.
Christian Huff
Yeah.
Sadie Robertson
You know, and, like, people do it to me every single time I post a clip with me and you people tell me, let the man speak. She never lets him talk. She talks over him so much. Does he ever get a word in? Okay, chill.
Christian Huff
I get plenty of words.
Sadie Robertson
He does.
Christian Huff
I get enough.
Sadie Robertson
But I say it to say, those comments for you, I know, have gotten in your head. And so if that's. That's happening on this podcast is like a fear. Okay, well, people are gonna. Are they gonna misunderstand me on the show? Are people not gonna get my.
Christian Huff
Yeah, well, I think for me, like, sarcasm is a form of my humor, which I'm not, like, overtly sarcastic. Like, the people that. You know, some. Some people are just like, that's way too much. I don't think I'm way too much. Leave a comment if you disagree. Just kidding. Please don't. I don't care. But for me, I'm just. I'm a very competitive person. And I think one thing with the show, you know, it does. The people do want to highlight that aspect of my competitiveness. And I think sometimes it could come across funny if you understand that humor. And sometimes it can probably come across. Close your ears. Douchey. I don't want to come across that way. So I think that can be a fear of wanting to be myself, because I am. I do think I'm funny. I am very competitive, and. But I can. I guess I can see how it can probably rub people the wrong way and come across, like, overtly douchey. And I don't want that to happen. So that is kind of a fear. But then again, I don't want to, like, constantly be in my head about what are people going to think when I'm doing this or that. I just don't want to be myself. So, yeah.
Sadie Robertson
Friends, consider this your official invite to join the Scripture translation movement with the Illumination 12 verse challenge. Addressing Bible poverty all over the world is a cause that's become really close to my heart in the last couple of years. Just imagine going your whole life without ever hearing scripture in your own language. It's honestly hard for us to imagine, but right now, that's the reality for over a billion people in the world, more than 3,000 different people groups. What's even more shocking than that is more than a thousand of those groups don't have a single verse of the Bible in their language. And that is why I'm so excited to be partnered with Illuminations. Illuminations is a movement of 11 Bible translation organizations working together to bring God's word to every person. So what used to seem like it was an impossible feat, something that could literally take over 150 years, is now projected to be completed within our lifetime by the year 2033. But it can't be done without your help. So a monthly gift of $35 a month will actually help translate 12 verses of scripture each year for people who have never had access to The Bible in their language. Already we've been a part of something incredible which is funding the translation of over four gospels for a people group that didn't have any. So we're not going to stop there. That's amazing. But let's keep this momentum going and change even more lives of God's word. We got this fam. Obviously, Scripture has changed my entire life. I'm sure it has for many of you who are listening. And so let's just realize that this is what we get to be a part of as we're a part of doing this for with illuminations. So how do you join the movement? We'll pull out your phone, click in the show notes, or go to 12vc.com sister and commit to the 12 verse challenge. That's the number one, the number two. VC.com sister Sister, we are in this until everyone everywhere has access to God's word. Visit the number 12 VC.com sister to join the movement today. Well, I think, like you saying, like, they want to highlight that one of the things that is just real about life is whenever you know you're being filmed, you know you're on camera, like, you want to be like, the best version of yourself, right? And so, yeah, I might have this tendency to be competitive and maybe like, in real life, it would make me really mad if I lost, but because I'm being filmed, good game, you know, but like, they don't want you to do that because that's not reality. Right. And if you're filming a reality TV show, the. The fight is, like, not trying to present yourself a certain way in front of the camera, like, trying to stay within, like, the reality of who you are. But then the fear is if I really am who I am and act that, then people are going to comment on a moment that I had with my competitiveness. And they might view that as, like, my whole personality because they don't know me in real Life. They saw 30 minutes of me on TV. So that is like a real, like, tension that you kind of have to live in. And I think that's why I said, like, I'm so glad that I worked through that the first time. But I had a first time to work through it. Now I'm stepping in on another side of it. It being like, I work through a lot. I mean, like, literally saw counselors, like, work through some stuff, got serious about my faith in these areas, and now you're coming in and never having experienced that side of it. You saw me come out of it You've heard some of the things that I've wrestled with coming out of it and seen me overcome it and be excited to do it again. So, like, obviously it's a good thing, but now you're realize that, oh, this is where those things do get kind of tricky and a little bit hard. And again, like, to the people who comment, stuff on this podcast, like, misunderstanding Christian's humor, it's more like.
Christian Huff
Or misunderstand your lack of the space for me to speak.
Sadie Robertson
Yeah, like, you know, people will view our relationship and go, oh, toxic behavior. She doesn't let him speak, and he makes fun of her the whole time. Well, that is like, I feel like we have, like, the. The most healthy relationship.
Christian Huff
Like, we had the literally the best relationship.
Sadie Robertson
And, like, we don't have to come on here and say that they're ready to prove it. I think that would be like, striving in that. But I say that to say some of that has worked its way into the conversations we've had on tv because this is a space where we fully get to be like ourselves and talk and. And people do get a sense of who we are. But it's still, it's an hour, you know, it's. It's. It's chopped up and. And I think, like, knowing who you are is important. Knowing I do talk more than you. You don't talk as much as me, and that's okay. Like, you don't have to talk more just because you're on a podcast. You get to be.
Christian Huff
And I do make fun of you because.
Sadie Robertson
And you do. I mean, I think it's funny, but if you knew my parents, like, that is their whole relationship.
Christian Huff
Yeah.
Sadie Robertson
My dad makes fun of my mom all the time, and my mom laughs at every. My mom will laugh till she's crying because that's their humor and we all think it's funny. And so, you know, it's just what you, like, grew up with. And speaking of this podcast, like I said, we have several podcast questions and a lot of this question. And I love this question, but a lot of people said I'm new to the well, that's good podcast. Where should I start in your series? I've gotten that question so many times whenever I do, like, Q&As on Instagram, and I've never answered it because, to be honest, that's such a hard question. Like, where do you start? Because We've had over 300 episodes and seven years of podcasting, and, you know, it would, like, you might think I would say go back to season one, but I don't even think I would necessarily, because that was me seven years ago interviewing in such a different way. Like, the podcasts were 20 minutes long, and there's some great interviews back in season one, but they're so much shorter. And we did this little segment at the end of every podcast, like phoning a friend, I would call mom and ask her a good piece of advice, bad piece of advice, which was so fun. So, like, yes, go back to those there. There's so much wisdom in that and so many fun things. But then, like, I love what we're doing now. Like, I love the structure of having these longer conversations. Some are really serious topics, and then some are just really funny, like today, just kind of riffing off of each other. So I love that. I love our sisters and friends, when we started doing that, being more just like, real casual conversations on the couch as opposed to, like, interview style. We also used to do all of our podcasts virtual, and now we do so many in person. And so I say. I'll just say I feel like we have evolved in a way that the podcast is at the best it's ever been. Not to say that there aren't amazing episodes in the past that you should totally go back and look through. And I'll probably. I'll. We'll have to go through and I'll post some that, like, I think you should definitely listen to. But over the last. I would say three and a half years, I think are probably some of the best ones that we've done since we've built out this studio, the last studio, once we kind of built out the couch area, I just think it got more to a point of, like, relaxed, great conversations.
Christian Huff
The vibes are really good.
Sadie Robertson
The vibes are good. I love this studio. I really do. So about three and a half years ago, my mom's production company took over the podcast. And that was, like. I think whenever we switched to that, it kind of got to the next level because then I had. I've always had my mom's feedback, but then I had my mom's feedback alongside of her team to help me build something. And before then, it was really just like, me, like, pressing record and having people help edit it and different stuff. But now I have, like, a team, and I feel like you can feel that, like, unity and how good the episodes have really turned out. So I love that I have an amazing assistant of mine, which is funny to say because she's really a friend who helps me prep the podcast so that we have great conversations. I used to prep all the podcasts up until then, but then when I had kids it was really hard to keep up with. So we've always tried to stay super intentional. All I have to say, I think the conversations have just been rich the past three years.
Christian Huff
I'd agree with him.
Sadie Robertson

Christian Huff
I don't know. It's tough because you've done. You really have done so many. I think we're both going to say the John Crisp one we did lately was so good.
Sadie Robertson
John Crist one was one of my all time favorites. I didn't expect it. That's why it was so good. I went into that. No, no offense on Chris going into that. I just thought it was going to be funny, you know, because he's a comedian.
Christian Huff
Yeah.
Sadie Robertson
I had gotten some feedback. He might not want to go super deep into some of the stuff from his past, which I always try to respect. One thing I do not want this podcast ever be is one of those, like, gotcha, like, clickbait, you know, like, I asked them, like, the worst thing that they've ever done, and just to, like, get a story. I want people to feel honored in their story. If they want to share that, please share it. I'm all about the vulnerability, but, like, you should share it because you want to share it, not because an interviewer, like, forced you to share it. So I didn't plan on, like, going that deep. And the fact that it had both elements of really funny and then this depth to it that was so unexpected that, like, was really hard. Things to talk about that are going to help so many people. One of my absolute favorite podcasts ever.
Christian Huff
That's good. And then another one that I love was the one that you did with your dad, Alan.
Sadie Robertson
That was what I was going to say, too. That is so funny. Also unexpected. I thought that was just going to be funny.
Christian Huff
Another unexpected one.
Sadie Robertson
And then it got, like, really deep and really good. Some of my favorite ones are the messy conversations I've done with my mom. If you go back, we did messy conversations on tattoos, messy conversations on modesty, messy conversations on purity. Those are some of my favorites. Just me and my mom digging into the Bible. It's just important. And I think just getting to show people what that looks like, to navigate through a conversation that you don't really have the answers for necessarily, but how to search for them in God's word and bring truth out. And having my mom's wisdom, it's just like, one of my favorite things. And then another one that was like, a really. Well, actually, I'll say I'm thinking of three more. Natalie Grant, first time she was on, it's really, really good, really strong. I think a lot of what she said related to me back in the day. So I was like, man, this is gonna help so many people.
Christian Huff
At least a bevere one.
Sadie Robertson
Lisa Bevere made me cry because it was so for me. I never had a podcast where I was doing the interviewing that I was like, all of a sudden the listener, like, fully the listener. And I was like, I don't even know really what to ask you next, because I'm so listening and receiving what you're saying. And then the last one was the Martins when we did the Possum Trot. So Possum Trot was a movie that came out, and I also got to interview Letitia Wright during that time, which was really cool. She's a big movie star, and that was, like, really amazing opportunity. She also has an incredible story in her own faith and was awesome. But I got to interview the real people that the movie was about. And I think a lot of times when you do these podcast circuits or whatever you call them, you always interview, like, the actresses, but to get to interview the real people and hear the story, because for me, podcasting and conversations that we have that we're recording, like, it's all about. It's all about the real story, the real people, the real feelings, the real vulnerability. Like, it's about just being real and authentic to who you are. And, like, I think we grow and we learn from those things. And so to hear these two people's lives that were just, like, so inspiring, and they were just so authentically who they were. They preached the whole time. I mean, it was just one of my favorite experiences, getting to sit in that chair and have them here, and they were incredible. It was amazing. So those are some of my favorites. You'll have to go back and listen to them. Okay. Christian, who's your favorite person that you ever interviewed? Because you have a podcast that you've been taking a little break on.
Christian Huff
Yes, I do. Thank you for shouting that out. Yeah, I've had so many good conversations. I think one of the coolest opportunities was getting to interview Alan Richson, the guy that plays in Reacher, because he's from my hometown. Big fitness guy, but he's just a. Yeah, like, it was just a cool opportunity to get to interview someone that was like. Like, well, I guess still is in, like, the height of his career, and just getting to talk to him about simple things was really cool.
Sadie Robertson
That was really cool. You get to interview a lot of cool people. Mike Fisher.
Christian Huff
Yeah, Mike Fisher was awesome. Thanks for helping me out there. Yeah, those are just, you know, same with you. Those are. Those are just two and a half years ago at this point, you know, three years ago. Almost three years ago.
Sadie Robertson
That's one of my favorite things, too, though. Like, one of some of my favorite podcasts that we've done, too, are, like, when we revealed Honey's name and Haven's name and told their birth stories, and, like, I look back at These. And it's so funny because, like, watching the podcast, I can tell whenever people, like, tag me and stuff. Like, and I was pregnant there. Like, I can, like, see my face is swollen or, like, my voice sounds. Sounds different. I can tell even now my voice, my laugh is so much louder than it is in my normal podcast or my normal day because when I'm not pregnant, I have this silent laugh. When I am pregnant, I have a really loud laugh. But, like, I love that. That's all documented on podcasts. And so, like, for me, I love those episodes. And people ask me all the time about, like, postpartum and, like, do I have any advice? And I'm able to say I literally recorded a podcast in, like, the height of, like, my postpartum experience and, like, invited Dr. Amen on, like, that's so cool, you know? So I still, like, send that one out all the time when girls ask about postpartum advice or body image. Like, I did so many different body image podcasts, but several during postpartum seasons are with postpartum moms. And so I'm, like, really proud of those. And, like, I love those. Those are just good timestamps for our life. We even have honey coming on in the first episode. I mean, the. When we did her birth story, and then Haven coming out of her birth story. Then we did one with the two of them. And that's just sweet to have have. So I love that. I'm sure we'll do it the next video.
