What'S up everybody? We are so excited to do an answering DMS today, me and Christian and actually this is gonna be really fun. I feel like this is gonna be like a get to know us podcast.
Unspecified Speaker
Your intro.
Christian Huff
Yes.
Unspecified Speaker
Well, you just kind of went like out of nowhere, but I like that.
Christian Huff
Yeah, well, I feel like this deserves all the energy in the world because you guys sent in and it was just making me laugh. Okay, first of all, I have to just say this because you guys hold me to what I say and I'm so thankful for that. But it was cracking me up when I opened up, like, ask me anything. So many people brought up the home run if I ever tried to go hit a home run. If you're new here and haven't heard this, basically months ago I mentioned something along the lines that I could easily hit a home run like a softball over the fence that Christian plays softball at Lunacy. And Christian said, you're legitimately crazy if you think you can do that. And I was like, I actually am not crazy. I actually think I can do this. Which then it led us to the discovery that I have something called delusional confidence, which we made up maybe on this show or maybe that's a thing that everyone talks about, but I definitely have it. But I say it's not delusional because I took matters very seriously. I went to academy, I bought like 40 baseballs, a new bat, batting gloves, and practiced daily for a long time, didn't I?
Unspecified Speaker
Yeah. So me thinking I could be an NFL quarterback if I Go out and buy a football.
Christian Huff
And I mean, I didn't say that. I didn't say I had to make it.
Unspecified Speaker
Well, you just said it's not. It's no longer delusional.
Christian Huff
If it's no longer delusional when you put the work to it. And then we had Shawn Johnson on the podcast and I talked to her about it and she was like, no delusional confidence required to do great things. Spoken by an Olympic gold medalist.
Unspecified Speaker
Could you ever. Could you ever dunk a basketball?
Christian Huff
No, but that would be functional springs.
Unspecified Speaker
With shoes in them and.
Christian Huff
No, but I'm talking about a realistic goal here.
Unspecified Speaker
It's the same. It's the same thing.
Christian Huff
It's not the same. Okay.
Unspecified Speaker
You dunking a basketball is equivalent to you hitting a home run on that softball field.
Christian Huff
Wow. Okay, now the whole conversation is starting up again. Anyways, all to say, are you touching the net?
Unspecified Speaker
Would be like hitting it in the outfield.
Christian Huff
I got a little discouraged because I realized I was far off from the target. So I never ended up going and trying. Okay. Also, in the questionnaire that I asked, people were like, oh, by the way, did you ever run a mile? Did you ever do a pull up? And I was like, oh, my gosh, there's so many things I've said on this podcast.
Unspecified Speaker
You're a good goal setter.
Christian Huff
I set so many great goals.
Unspecified Speaker
It's just the follow through.
Christian Huff
Yeah. But let me tell you about the pull up. When I said I was gonna do one pull up, I literally joined a gym, like a fitness place that's like CrossFit. It is the level of heart of CrossFit. I was going at 6:00am Was it 6:30? I think it was 6:30. Regardless, it was dark when I was leaving the house. Seven, but it was dark. I worked so hard. I got in some of the best shape of my life. This was after I had honey. And even still I could not do a pull up. So I actually put in the work to do that. The mile. I will have to admit, I got running shoes. And that's as far as I forgot what that was.
Unspecified Speaker
I got you running shoes.
Christian Huff
Yeah, you did. I don't know. The mile was kind of wishful thinking. That was just like, it would be nice to run a mile, but I didn't ever like think, okay, I have to do this. The pull up, I was determined. That was just a sad ending. The home run, I was determined. Also a sad ending.
Unspecified Speaker
All that to say, well, the, the, the, the home run. We're hoping to make that be part of the show.
Christian Huff
We are hoping to film that.
Unspecified Speaker
We're hoping to film it just. Just so you can see as you're typing through your keyboard, if curious, you can just see how off target this beautiful loss will be.
Christian Huff
Thank you. I did.
Unspecified Speaker
I said beautiful. Nevermind.
Christian Huff
Sorry.
Unspecified Speaker
Could have sounded bad.
Christian Huff
It did. This might be our first explicit episode, Beautiful lady.
Unspecified Speaker
But I said last because we've been watching Brave.
Christian Huff
The L was almost silent though.
Unspecified Speaker
Sorry.
Christian Huff
That was scary. Anyways, I have to say that I felt very loved as I read these questions and realized how much you guys really have been paying attention and hold me to the things I say I'm gonna do. And I appreciate that. And hopefully I will one day do a pull up. I will hopefully one day also hit a home run. The mile. Still in the wishful era, but I'm. But I'm going to one day.
Unspecified Speaker
What if you try to do this all in one day? Like you train for it and you try to do it in the day. Like you do a pull up, you run a lap and then you hit a home run.
Christian Huff
Okay. It's going to be in 2026, in heaven. Sometimes you say, know your year. This is not my year for that.
Unspecified Speaker
It'll be in heaven.
Christian Huff
Okay, stop. Okay. Speaking of the show, though, filming the show, someone has asked, and this was a really good question I really like because she was saying, how is it filming a TV show in a completely different season of your life now? And how has it been with your husband being a part of it now? So I want to ask you, because this is your first time to film a TV show. Like, how you adjust into it. How are you liking it?
Unspecified Speaker
I love it. I think it's been a lot of fun. It's been fun getting to. You know, obviously we spend a ton of time with your family, but in that setting, it's been a lot of fun. It's. It's like, it's fun to think about it futuristically, like looking back and having all those memories documented and, you know, having things that you can, you know, just progressively look through life with, with our kids growing up. And I think the show is super, super funny.
Christian Huff
It's really funny. I cannot wait for it.
Unspecified Speaker
Duck Dynasty in the Office made a baby, which is the revival.
Christian Huff
Yes. But there's also another element to it too. It's like Duck Dynasty in the Office. And there's like a very real aspect of it too. So it's like really funny and it's kind of officey and it's like, because that's just kind of how our actual office is and our family and stuff. And then the Duck Dynasty, of course you have all of that. But then because it is more like documentary in an hour long, we also have, like, the space to share real things we're walking through. So I feel like it will be a show. You laugh and you cry.
Unspecified Speaker
True.
Christian Huff
That's really cool.
Unspecified Speaker
But no, I love it. I love, you know, getting to do. Getting to do it with family. When I was. Maybe this is delusional confidence. When I was younger, I thought it'd be fun to be an actor. I signed me up for some random website back in the day, and I never got a call back.
Christian Huff
Yes, you did. You get emails still.
Unspecified Speaker
Yeah, but that's like, I think they send this everyone. That's not, like, specific to me. And so this is also kind of like, you know, testing out my, you know, some. Some acting in a sense of, like.
Christian Huff
How I would have been living out some childhood dreams.
Unspecified Speaker
Living out some childhood dreams.
Christian Huff
Just stay humble, babe.
Unspecified Speaker
Thank you.
Christian Huff
It's actually been really sweet for me too. Like, I don't know, thinking back to the Dynasty days, it's such a blur to me. And also, I was a teenager, and it was really what my family was doing, and I was a part of it, which was super special. But I feel like now carrying a more, you know, like, we're one of the main characters. Like, we're on it all the time. That's it's not just like, oh, I'm filming once every now and then. We're, like, filming every day. Has actually been really, really fun to be a part of something like that with my whole family and dreaming about, like, what the episodes are gonna be and what the storylines are gonna be, and. And it's like, what is actually happening in our real life, you know, and so that's just special. Yeah. Like Christian said, it'll be really fun to look back in life and, like, have all this documented. And just the excitement that you guys had for it was so overwhelming and so kind. It made us so much more excited for the show. So we are pumped about that. Thank you for asking. This was a really funny question. On the note of people noticing everything and remembering things. So many people have asked about my pink vest that I wear, and a lot of people are asking where it's from and all this stuff, and people are like, the pink vest. The pink vest. People will literally see me in the pink vest in public and be like, sadie in the pink vest. Like, it's become this thing, and it cracks me up, because here is the story about the pink vest. First of all, it's from a store called American Vintage, which is such a cute store. A little pricey of a store, just throwing that out there, but very cute. Just kind of different things. And we were on a trip to Malibu this year. They had, like, all these colorful vests. I was like, these are so cute. And the girl who was, like, working there that day had on the hot pink vest, and I was like, that is so cute on her. Typically, would I go for such a hot pink vest? Maybe not, but that girl was working it, and so I did it. Okay, so then I wear it one time on the podcast with you and chance. And then AG1, who's, like, a sponsor of the show, asked me specifically, which they've never asked me any questions. Time like, hey, this is what you should wear for an ad. It's just like, wear whatever you want. Come as you are. Talk about AG1. This time they said, can you wear that hot pink vest? And I was like, sure. Like, so random. Why would you want me to wear this hot pink vest? But, okay, I'll wear. I'll wear the pink vest for an ad. Why not? I love my pink vest. Then that ad literally blew up. It had, like, 17 million views on Facebook. And it was so funny because so many of the comments are like, that pink vest. And like, half the people are like, where is it from? And half the people hated it. And we're like, this looks like a toilet cover from the 90s at my grandma's house or the 70s. And I was like, oh, my gosh. It actually does. But the whole pink vest thing was just hilarious.
Unspecified Speaker
That's really cute. I think you look super hot in it.
Christian Huff
Thank you. Now I kind of want more colors, so we'll see.
Unspecified Speaker
I would just stay with the pink.
Christian Huff
Stay with the hot pink. Okay, well, anyways, thanks for asking about the pink vest. American vintage. And there's nothing about it.
Unspecified Speaker
Just chill out.
Christian Huff
Chill out, my friend. Okay? We. We discovered. We discussed the home run thing, the mile, the pull up. Okay. We've talked about all of your failed. The pink vest.
Unspecified Speaker
Well, they're not technically failed accomplishments. They're. They're. They're. They're graveyard accomplishments.
Christian Huff
They are.
Unspecified Speaker
They've been left to die.
Christian Huff
There's something I worked at. Okay.
Unspecified Speaker
Foreign.
Christian Huff
And I love talking to other couples about marriage. We have received so much wisdom and advice that's helped our marriage so much from just opening up to others. And that's why I want to talk to you about Victory by Covenant Eyes. Let's face it, one of the biggest challenges couples face today is the impact of technology on their relationship. But Victory by Covenant Eyes is a software that's designed to help protect marriages and build trust and accountability when it comes to Internet use by porn and inappropriate content are only one click away. But Covenant Eyes doesn't want you or your spouse to have to face that battle alone. Their software blocks harmful content, monitors screen activity, and sends reports to your chosen accountability partner. That could be a trusted friend, a relative, or your spouse. And it's not about shame or guilt. It's about creating an environment of openness, trust, and communication so that you can heal and grow together. I have seen firsthand how much accountability matters in relationships and what an impact it really can have. God designed marriage to be a reflection of his love, pure, holy, and full of grace. And Covenant Eyes can help it be that way, y'all. I think it's so amazing what Covenant Eyes is doing, and I just think accountability in general is so important. I think so many people are afraid of accountability and people knowing what they're looking at. But that's where freedom comes in, when you have someone to help you. And so if you're someone struggling with porn alone, friend, don't struggle alone any longer. Someone else can help you walk towards that freedom. If you're married, engaged, or even just dreaming about the future. I cannot recommend Covenant Eyes more. Go to CovenantEyes.com Sadie to learn more and start your journey towards a healthier, stronger marriage today. That's Covenant Eyes.com Sadie. Someone asked me, speaking of accomplishment, something that I am going to finish. Someone asked me if I'm writing a book right now. And I don't even know if I'm supposed to say this, but I am writing a book right now. But it will be so long until this book comes out that y'all might even forget that I said this because it's. It's gonna be such a long process. I actually just finished chapter one. I. I love this. I've loved the. Just the start of this process. I love the concept that the Lord gave me. I love what I'm writing about. I feel like God has just continued to give me so much vision for what this project is going to be, and I just feel, like, super excited about it. I've done a lot of devotional books the past couple years, but this will be my next, like, full trade book, which I'm really excited about. So thank you for asking. And that. That might look like I didn't do it because there's going to be time in between now and the time you see that. That copy. But that will be something that I finish and I am really excited about that. Tbd, so TBD all the time. Okay. Someone asked and I thought this was a good question. It's a little bit off topic of what we're. We. What is our topic right now other than just going through dms. But someone asked if we have any regrets from our wedding or wish we did some things at the actual wedding, which I think this is a good question because a lot of people are engaged and trying to figure out what kind of wedding they want to have. And I do feel like there were some things that we were like, okay, maybe we would have done that a little bit differently. But overall it was like amazing.
Unspecified Speaker
Yeah, I don't necessarily have any regrets. If you are a woman, I would recommend looking at your husband, your future husband, as you walk down the aisle and not look at everyone else in the crowd.
Christian Huff
I do regret that. Here's what happened. I am such a people.
Unspecified Speaker
Just kidding. That actually did not offend me.
Christian Huff
I'm such a people person. And you know, we had a huge wedding, which is maybe not my regret, but I will talk about that a little bit. But it was like such a huge wedding. And so we had. How many people do we have at our wedding?
Unspecified Speaker
It was like 600 something.
Christian Huff
No, it was more. It was over 700.
Unspecified Speaker
I don't think so.
Christian Huff
I promise it was over 700. I was going to say 800, but I know for sure it was over 700. I think we set out like 800 chairs.
Unspecified Speaker
I'll figure it out.
Christian Huff
It was crazy. I'm texting all that to say it was a big wedding. So we had people coming in from all over the country because Christian's from Florida. I lived in Nashville for a long time. I lived in California for a little bit of time. We've had friends from all over because we just travel a lot. My parents friends, his parents friends. Like everyone was there and I hadn't seen anyone since they had gotten into town to Louisiana for the wedding. So the way that our wedding was set up, we actually had it on my parents tennis court. But we made it into like this. I wanted to look like a nighttime garden. And so the whole thing was like covered in turf. So you like from the outside, I couldn't see in because it was like a box like garden. It's kind of hard to describe. We'll put a picture of it on the podcast on YouTube.
Unspecified Speaker
And so 612 people.
Christian Huff
Okay. It felt like 800. Whatever.
Unspecified Speaker
I was right.
Christian Huff
It felt like 800 people. There were 612 people there. All I say it was a big wedding. Okay?
Unspecified Speaker
Very big.
Christian Huff
And that's not including all of the vendors that we're right. You're right, because at the vendor thing, we had all of that chef's team. We had the milkshake bar. I actually was just dessert tables.
Unspecified Speaker
I thought it was more 600.
Christian Huff
But you all that to say it was overwhelming. Okay. So I couldn't see anybody. I hadn't seen anybody. They opened the door, and all of a sudden, I see all of my people, like, all of these people that have traveled from so far that I hadn't seen in so long. And so instead of looking at Christian down the aisle, which you would have.
Unspecified Speaker
Thought there would have been, like, a radiant light beam, which we already did.
Christian Huff
Our first look coming down on me. We already did our first look, which was amazing. So I had seen Christian that day, and we had great moments that day. I was looking at already. I was like, hey, hello, welcome. I wasn't saying that, but my expressions were like, oh, my gosh, you're here. You're here. I can actually still remember the people that I saw as I walked down the aisle. And then I get to the end, and I'm like, Christian, you were disappointed.
Unspecified Speaker
That I wasn't, like, completely.
Christian Huff
You weren't crying or anything.
Unspecified Speaker
You were a little disappointed that I wasn't, like.
Christian Huff
But we had already done our first look, so, you know, it was what it was. I love doing a first look, though, before. I don't have regrets about that. And I. I think whatever your preference is on that, the thing with the big wedding is that I think having a big wedding was really fun. And I'm so grateful, Seriously, so grateful for all the people that came. We felt so loved and so celebrated, but because, like, we do live in different states, because I'm from Louisiana, he's from Florida, and, like, I live Nashville, and he went to Auburn, and then I was in California. Like, we didn't know a lot of each other's people that were there. And so most of the night, I feel like we spent meeting people, you know, which was sweet, because that was, like, a time we could meet our people. But I remember regret, like, wishing that we could be on the dance floor and just, like, kind of enjoying the night a little bit more. And we were like, Taking so many pictures, meeting so many people. And I remember at one point I looked at Christian, I was like, I need to like, go hide. And it was so fun. Cuz me and Christian, like, went and hid behind the little wine bar. Controversial. We did have wine at our wedding, but we hid behind the wine bar and we were like, oh, my gosh, we're at our wedding. We're getting married. This is so cool. And it was like. It was like a moment that we just came into the reality of where we were at and it was so fun. So I guess I just kind of redeemed it in that I don't really regret having a big wedding because there are really fun things about it. But whenever people ask me about having a big wedding, I'm like, I think it's really fun and made for like a great party, great time, seeing everybody feeling very loved and celebrated. But it can feel overwhelming if you don't know everybody coming and you're going to be meeting a lot of people. So just like, hold that in your expectation.
Unspecified Speaker
Yeah. I got nothing else. Sad. That was good.
Christian Huff
Good. And I do remember seeing you when I got down the aisle. So let's just put that for the record. Okay.
Unspecified Speaker
Yeah.
Christian Huff
What do you guys do on date nights? It's been a while.
Unspecified Speaker
It has been a little bit. What are we doing?
Christian Huff
We should go on a date, babe.
Unspecified Speaker
Yeah. It is very inspiring.
Christian Huff
Okay. We do, like little dates. So we go to lunch a lot together during the day. Because that's just more practical for us right now in this time of our life, which that goes a long way.
Unspecified Speaker
We don't have many sweet, intimate date nights.
Christian Huff
Well, we have two children and we work, so life is a little bit crazy. But I feel like our lunch dates are fun. And then when we do go on dates, we're kind of like, typical. I feel like we just, like, get dressed up, go to a nice dinner.
Unspecified Speaker
Yeah.
Christian Huff
And I always want dessert. Christian doesn't. And I rock it and own it and eat my own dessert.
Unspecified Speaker
I just would prefer ice cream.
Christian Huff
Yeah. Christian wants ice cream. And I want like, whatever the restaurant.
Unspecified Speaker
Has, like the butter pudding and bread pudding. Bread pudding. I just. I would. I just would rather have, like, ice cream.
Christian Huff
Yeah. And we'll probably end up doing both, which is fun. And you are a big movie guy. But you never really want to go on a date to the movies. You always want to go.
Unspecified Speaker
You never want to go with me to the movies.
Christian Huff
I always don't go with you to the movies. But sometimes your movie choices Are too much for me.
Unspecified Speaker
Baloney. I like good movies.
Christian Huff
Okay. What does a typical night in your house look like?
Unspecified Speaker
Utter chaos.
Christian Huff
Kind of true. A typical night in our house. I. I feel like I cook a lot, so I'll cook. Our favorite meal that I cook is chicken Caesar pesto wraps. They are so good.
Unspecified Speaker
And we'll use every single dish in the kitchen.
Christian Huff
No, to me, that's the worst thing to cook. Is it? You have to clean up so much. But it's like something I probably cook once a week.
Unspecified Speaker
Yeah. So we'll cook, usually watch a movie as the. With the. With the, like as a family. I will clean for a while, we'll play, and then usually we'll put Haven down. And then Honey's kind of at the stage now where one of us has to lay in her bed with her.
Christian Huff
This has been probably like the last time.
Unspecified Speaker
And sometimes it's upwards of like an.
Christian Huff
Hour and a half, which I almost always fall asleep.
Unspecified Speaker
I don't know how to get over this hump. Yeah. Sadie falls asleep every night putting Honey to sleep. And if I lay with Honey, I usually don't fall asleep, but it sometimes takes an hour, hour and a half. And then at this point, it's like 10, 10, 30, and then it's kind of like, well, I guess we're gonna go to bed. So we're trying to work that out because it's. We don't have much time at night, just the two of us. I wish Honey would just.
Christian Huff
We'll normally watch a show together or something.
Unspecified Speaker
Yeah, but it's not like.
Christian Huff
But yeah, not a ton of time. We're figuring that out.
Unspecified Speaker
30 minutes.
Christian Huff
One thing that a lot of people asked me was like, questions about how do you, you know, sleep train your kids and how do you get your child to stop drinking a bottle and how do you potty train? And I'm like, can I reverse ask this question? Because I don't know. I need help with that. Like, we're in the same struggles as you guys when it comes to just like, parenting a 3 year old and a 1 year old. I feel like so many social media influencers are like, experts, you know, they're like, here's what I've done that's working.
Unspecified Speaker
I don't know if they're experts or.
Christian Huff
They know, but they, they like, it seems like that. And I. I am not. I'm just going on the record. I am like, haven, we are still having a hard time getting her off the bottle. We are just about to start potty training her. And I am gearing up for it because I know it's gonna be hard. Bedtime is just a struggle. It's easy for Haven. It's a little bit harder for honey. And I think one thing our kids have shown us is that every kid is so different, and some are actually just easier than others. You know, some just take to things easier. Some have a harder time with things. Like Honey, it really wasn't hard to get her passy away from her Haven. It has been so hard to get her passy away from her. Honey is really hard to put to bed. Haven's really easy to put to bed. So every kid is just different. And I think that Haven wakes up.
Unspecified Speaker
Happy in the morning.
Christian Huff
Yeah. Honey does not.
Unspecified Speaker
Honey wakes up on the wrong side every day.
Christian Huff
I know. A lot of us have so much on our plate these days. I know. I definitely do. Being a mom, filming a TV show, speaking, working with the lot, it can be a little tricky to remember to stay hydrated. But it's so important for all of us to keep up with our electric needs, Whether you're living a busy lifestyle, going through an illness, or just keeping up with some fitness goals. And that's where element comes into play. Being well hydrated isn't about just drinking plenty of water. It's about managing your body's fluid ratios, which depends on lots of things, like taking in electrolytes. Element is an electrolyte drink mix and sparkling electrolyte water with zero sugar, artificial ingredients, or colors. And unlike some other similar products, it actually tastes really good. Every pack or can delivers a serious dose of electrolytes that are formulated for literally anyone on a mission to improve their hydration. We hear a lot about keeping an eye on the amount of sodium we take in, but there's a growing body of research that suggests our optimal health occurs at two to three times the standard recommendations. Electrolytes, like sodium, are important for hundreds of functions in our body. And if we don't have enough, then we'll get things like headaches, cramps, brain fog, fatigue, and nobody wants to feel like that. That's why element is used by everyone from podcasters to professional athletes, special force team members, and everyday people just trying to live our best life and feel better. Element is so good, y'all. The first time I had it, I think I did the watermelon flavor, and it's still one of my favorites. And the raspberry. Christian prefers the sparkling can. He drinks one of these every single day and loves it so much. So get your free Element sample pack with any purchase@drink element.com. whoa. Try element totally risk free. If you don't like it, they'll refund your order, no questions asked. That's drink elemenT-R-I-N K L M-N-T.com Whoa. I think it's just helpful, though, as a parent to know that, like, you do the best job you can do, and at the end of the day, you know, they are their own people and you're gonna steward their life as best as you possibly can because you love them with your whole life and you are going to do your best to teach them and grow and all the different things. But, like, you can't put too much pressure on yourself. I'm like, oh, I didn't punch them. I'm a bad mom. Or, oh, I can't go to sleep. I'm a bad mama. O Always thinking you did something wrong. Because sometimes certain kids are just easier and some are harder than others. It's not from a lack of trying or putting forth your best effort. It's just a difference. Like, honey loves to talk at night. And part of that is really fun. Like, I love that about her. So I don't really mind staying in her bed for so long because I enjoy that time that we have together. So, yeah, I think you just kind of have to take it as it is and not put too much stress on yourself to, like, get through all of those things fast. Like, it will come. All of this is, like, temporary, and it goes by so fast. And so I feel like when it comes to the approach of anything like that, I just take a much more chill approach than a lot of people on the Internet do. And maybe people disagree with me on that. Probably people will disagree with me on that, should I say? But that's just kind of where we're at, I feel like, in our life. But I feel like our evenings are really fun. Like, those are some of my favorites. Yeah, we didn't do a good job describing our evenings. We're like, wake up weekly and we watch a movie. But that's not really true. A lot too.
Unspecified Speaker
We do, but I'm saying it's still chaos.
Christian Huff
Like, it is crazy.

Like, while you're cooking, you know, the kids rarely want to be with me. They always want to. They're, like, tugging at you. And then when we eat, usually they don't want to eat, so they're, like, wanting to get down. Then we usually end up eating together. And then Haven wants to climb the stairs which one of us is usually going to grab her because she just knocks down the little gate.
Christian Huff
It's so just.
Unspecified Speaker
But it's so sweet. But I'm saying it is. You know, it can be chaotic, but it is super sweet.
Christian Huff
I remember it's not like we get.
Unspecified Speaker
Home and everyone's like. Like, honey's. You know, it's like we all sit in a circle, and we're all like, no way. Holding hands.
Christian Huff
Who's doing that? Maybe people probably think.
Unspecified Speaker
People probably say that.
Christian Huff
They do that. I think, you know, it was really funny. I remember when Maddie and Grant came in town to do the podcast with us, and they stayed with us, and it was so fun. And, you know, we have two little ones, and, you know, Maddie and Grant and me and Christian, we always see each other at, like, different events and stuff like that, so we don't always have the kids around. And when they came, they were like, whoa. Like, we never realized how different our lives are than y'all, because, like, y'all have kids and we're not in that season yet, which now they just had their sweet little baby, and it's so fun to watch them step into parenthood. But it was truly. It was just a realization of, like, man, like, we're similar ages we see all the time. We thought, like, our lives are pretty similar until we came and, like, stayed in your home, and we're like, whoa. Our lives are just different right now because kids do add a whole nother layer to your life and just messiness and craziness and fun and joy and all the different things. And so, yeah, our nights are very much so, the nights of. Of young parents who have two little children. Okay, let's see. What TV series have you binge watched recently? We're currently watching Mr. Beast Games, but we're not really binging it. I feel like we've been, like, interested in it.
Unspecified Speaker
We've been, like, sporadically watching. We don't really binge anything ever, honestly.
Christian Huff
What's the last TV show I binge watch? Oh, I'm ashamed to say, because it was not even good. This one. I had the flu and I was in bed. Oh, crazy. No, I know what you think about. That was the last show I've been watching. That was my favorite show of all time. Why can't I think of it crash landing on you? That's my favorite show of all time. That was. I'm probably gonna binge watch that again now that you've reminded me that. But here's the thing. When you're like, when do you have time to binge watch? Whenever you have these little bitty ones and I just describe what our night is. But whenever I was sick, I watched a show on Netflix called Later Daters and it not good. By the end of it, no one ended up together. Oh, spoiler alert. It was not good.
Unspecified Speaker
If you didn't like it, why are you talking about it?
Christian Huff
Because someone asked me. I got to tell the truth.
Unspecified Speaker
You got to be truthful. That is very, very good.
Christian Huff
I got to tell the truth.
Unspecified Speaker
Yeah, I don't think I've. I can't think of anything I've been to watch lately. And by lately, I mean, like, couple years.
Christian Huff
You should watch Crash Landing on you with me.
Unspecified Speaker
I watched it kind of sometimes with you.
Christian Huff
Yeah, you should. You should commit next time. Okay, tell us your dream guest list on your podcast. Okay, I got one person at the top of the list. Steve Harvey. If we get Steve Harvey on this podcast, I will be so happy. What's up? It's your man, Steve Harvey. We got a good one for you tonight. On the left, that was really good. We got the Huff Fan. On the right, we got the Robertson Fam.
Unspecified Speaker
That was really good.
Christian Huff
I would just love to have Steve Harvey has such a good life story and very inspirational and just be really fun. Also would love to have Sarah Blakely on the podcast because I love her heart for women and I like how she started Spanx and now she's doing sneaks and she's just a go getter. I don't know. I feel like those have been, like, long standing, fun guests that I'd love to have on the podcast. I would also love to be on the Kelly Clarkson show and have her on the podcast. That would be really fun. Kelly Clarkson would be really fun at Reba. Reba would be really cool. Wouldn't it be cool?
Unspecified Speaker
Do you want to do your Reba in person?
Christian Huff
I don't know if I'm ready for it.
Unspecified Speaker
You don't really have to.
Christian Huff
Okay, I won't.
Unspecified Speaker
Okay, cool.
Christian Huff
You wish I did. Christian, are you still doing your podcast?
Unspecified Speaker
I am, yeah. I'm just taking a little bit of a break right now just with the show and everything and trying to figure out what I want the next season of the podcast to look like and, like, what kind of format I want to do. But I've had a bunch of questions about it. Yes, I'm hoping to do it, but at some point, I just need to try to get in a better rhythm of, you know, filming schedule and travel and really, I don't want to start doing it and then realize that I can't, you know, keep up with.
Christian Huff
Yeah.
Unspecified Speaker
With how many episodes I'm gonna need to be allotted.
Christian Huff
So, yes. A lot of people ask me if I'm still going to be doing the podcast with the show and continuing to do all things with Ello, and the answer is yes. But we are figuring that out. Like, our life is so different now. Like, our schedule has so dramatically changed, and so it has been a lot of work to keep up with the podcast right now. But love doing this so much, and I am so thankful for the six plus years that we've been able to grow, like, as a podcast and all. You guys have been such faithful listeners. I do not want to stop now. I hope that again I've said it last year. This feels like the beginning in so many ways. Like, I love it so much, and so my goal is to continue, but we are just navigating kind of all that that looks like. But so far, so good. I have an incredible team who's helping me do it. Okay. Someone said, would I ever do Dancing with the Stars again? Or would Christian do Dancing with the Stars? Would I ever do it again? Absolutely. I would do it again. I loved it so much, and I feel like I was going through a lot at the time I was on Dance with the Stars because I was so young and I was insecure and I was anxious, and I had all this stuff going on in my life. And now, as just, like, an adult who's married, who has kids, I'm, like, confident in who I am in Christ. I just feel like I'm at such a healthier state all around. As a person. I would love to go back and, like, go through that journey as who I am now compared to who I was then. Be really cool.
Unspecified Speaker
Yeah, it's good. Yeah. I don't think I ever have any interest in doing Dancing with the Same.
Christian Huff
I want someone in our family to do it. I feel like now with the Duck Dynasty reboot, someone's gonna get asked, who should do it. Y'all let us know. I'm gonna tell the Dance With Stars crew who everyone recommended. I think mom should do it, but she said no, so we'll see about that. So someone asked. This is a little bit on a deeper note, but I thought this would be interesting to hear from you. So someone asked where to start studying the Bible, which is kind of a common question that we've talked about, but let's. I don't really want to go into, like, where to start studying, but I was thinking it'd be cool to talk about, like, when we started studying the Bible individually for ourselves. Do you remember what season of your life you got like, like into studying the Bible for the first time?
Unspecified Speaker
I think for me, the way I started studying was whatever we were going, whatever we were studying as a church, whether it was, you know, Jonah or Luke or something like that, I just wanted to read the whole context of kind of what we were studying through and then really just looking up commentary on that. So I think for me, the way I started studying was like, if we were doing a series through the Gospels rather than just, just, you know, reading that stuff or like, you know, reading the verses at church on Sunday, kind of wanting to learn more about the context of things and actually reading the Bible through things that we were going through as a church. So all that to say whatever church you go to, if you're studying, you know, whether it's Genesis or Exodus or Revelation or the Gospels or Acts or whatever it is, just on your own time, just read through whatever those books are. Obviously, you know, there's. You can start with Genesis. And I think, you know, the, the whole Old Testament really paints a picture of why the New Testament is so powerful. And if you read the New Testament, then you really kind of miss the gravity of what Jesus is actually coming to do if you don't fully understand the Old Testament. So I think it's important to read the Bible from COVID to cover. But if I were to talk to somebody about where to start or how I started studying, I'm pretty sure it was just reading through things that we were sitting as a church and.
Christian Huff
Yeah, that's great, y'all.
D

Christian Huff
Whoa. I remember for. I think it was whenever I got into kind of speaking a little bit. And my story is unique because people always are like, how do you get started doing what you're doing? And I'm like, man, I don't even know exactly how to answer that question. Because going back to middle school, I started doing Bible studies in middle school. I did Bible studies in high school for many people because I love doing that. I love studying the word, teaching the word. I love everything about that. But then I didn't seek an opportunity for a platform to do that. My family had a TV show and that opened up a door for a platform to do that. And even when the door was open, I didn't even start preaching or Anything until God really started doing something in my life. After I went to a conference and, like, had a vision for what that was gonna look like. So then I was, like, starting to prepare messages. Like, what would this look like if I was going to share a message? And then that really kept me in the word, like, studying and learning and wanting to grow. And I was. I just remember asking God for revelations, like, give me revelations and seeing analogies all of a sudden, and things that were happening in my day to day life. And I just got, like, so obsessed with searching for God in the day to day life and then searching for God in the scripture. And, like, I wanted to know scripture. I remember Emma Jenkins, like, back in the day, Emma McDaniel. Now, many people know Emma McDaniel. She knew more scripture than anyone I'd ever met. It was amazing. Like, she could just scripture, scripture, scripture. She would just.
Unspecified Speaker
Sorry. I just. I just.
Christian Huff
She just burped. She knew she knew more scripture than, like, anyone I'd ever met. Sorry. I'm so sorry, everyone. In 35 minutes of this podcast, we finally decided to go serious. And then that's Incursion has a nose burp.
Unspecified Speaker
So, like, I could have helped. I. I tried to hold it.
Christian Huff
I know. Okay.
Unspecified Speaker
There was nothing I could have done.
Christian Huff
If y'all ever were wondering what we're really like, this podcast gives a really good. I really get up close and personal. I'm gonna try to get back to what I was saying, but I don't know if I can.
Unspecified Speaker
Emma McDaniel knew more scripture than anybody you've ever met.
Christian Huff
Yes. And it was so inspiring. And I was like, I want to be like that. Like, you know when you see someone you're inspired by and you're like, I really want to be like that. And then you're like, if I'm gonna be like that, though, I need to change some of the things in my life. And I was like, I want to know scripture like that. But, like, if I want to know scripture like that, then I have to start studying scripture. And I actually remember doing this interview. It was, like, kind of a random interview. It was a focus on the family and my mom listening to it and several different people listening to my family. They were like, wow, like, you know so much scripture. They're like, it's like a fountain. It just, like, comes out of you. And I remember being, like, so proud of that because I was like, man, I desired to know scripture. I began to learn it, and it's coming out of me just like, A natural conversation. And that was whenever I was like, I just like saw the value of what it looks like to like, actually put the word in your heart and the word to be active and alive and how it will come out and it will inspire people and change people's lives. And I feel like I've always loved communication. I love writing, love speaking, I love podcasting and our strength finders. Communication is like my number one thing. I love communication. And I think that the words you say and the stories you listen to, like, they. They really do shape people's lives. And I'm like, I want to say words that matter. And I think the most important, most powerful words you could ever speak are the words of truth in God's word. And so if I want to say those words, I have to meditate on those words. I have to study those words. And so that was the start of that. And I will say too, there was a season in my life where I had met these two amazing mentors. And they are pastor husband and wife, and they pastor church forever. They had an amazing family and they actually invited me into their home to come and like, learn from them. And every single Saturday, I would go to their house and I would stay the night and I would help serve their church. Really just go to their church the next Sunday. I won't even say serve. I didn't do anything. And I was there. I was at all the services with them, just kind of hanging out and just observing and just learning and going to their house every Saturday. I always wanted to like, come with questions and I also wanted to come with like, things I had discovered, like things I had read. And what was really cool is like, these people were a lot older than me, like they have their own grandchildren, but yet they always seemed like so impressed by what I said and not like a puff up way, but like, wow, that's amazing. God's teaching, that's so cool. And it like inspired me and encouraged me to keep learning, to keep growing. Like, I'd be like, oh, listen to this analogy. I thought, well, it's amazing. They would like, tell me to start praying for God. Dreams tell me to start praying for God to speak to me more and just like teaching me what that looks like, to like learn and to grow. And that was like a year and a half of my life. And it shaped lot of who I was and taught me how to study the Word. I'm super thankful for that. And so I know that's a unique situation. Maybe not everyone has the opportunity to Go that up close to a mentor's house. But if you have any opportunity to go sit with a mentor, someone older than you, a pastor, pastor's wife, anyone in church, or just someone who you look up to and say, like, man, like Emma McDaniel, I want to be like that person. Get up close to them, like ask the questions, tell them about what you're learning, ask them what they think about it. Like, that is so impactful.
Unspecified Speaker
Yeah. And I think the thing too, I think maybe sometimes we think like the misconception can be right when you want to start studying scriptures, like reading a ton all at one point. But I think something that's cool is, you know, there's so many resources that, that are available online and all this different things. So for instance, if, if you're, if you're studying the book of Acts and, and you want to learn more about, you know, what life was like after Jesus dies and, and all the different things. And you know, one great resource is the Bible project. So I can remember back in college, like wanting to read, like wanting to go listen to the Bible project on books that I was interested in and then kind of learning more of like a synopsis view of it and then going to actually read the Bible and then other resources like Enduring Word is a great one that kind of breaks down verse by verse on things that actually means maybe certain ties to the Old Testament. So for me, I just, I think things like that are really cool kind of learning scripture from like a 30,000, you know, foot view point of perspective and then actually reading it for yourself, you know, googling things that, you know, maybe that confuse you or things that you think are interesting and yeah, just doing a deep dive. But I think maybe pick one like one book that you really want to get to know and just take as much time as you want to really focusing on that.
Christian Huff
It's good. Okay, this is the last question I will ask. And you guys, again, thanks for sending in DMs. Please keep doing this. We love answering your DMs. I think think a lot of the conversations we have on this podcast are deep and they're heavy. We love to also have fun in these moments and just like let you guys see the real us and what we're going through right now and answer any questions you have about our life. This is such a gift. So thanks for sending them in. Last question I will ask is, I thought this was really sweet. Someone said, what is your favorite thing God has done for you this week?
Unspecified Speaker
Yeah, so for me Which I know which one you're going to share for me. Monday nights, we do a. A Bible study. And your dad spoke, and it was really cool. Usually he always gives good messages, and I really love listening to him. To him speak and kind of articulate scripture. But this week he was very vulnerable. And I think it was cool to see for people, your dad exercise humility in that way, which, you know, sometimes he may not be the best at.
Christian Huff
But it was the boss hog.
Unspecified Speaker
He is the boss hog. But it was cool seeing him like. Like, yeah, like ask. Not ask for. Not ask for forgiveness, but like, take a stance of. In a posture of humility and really own up to. To. To things that he feels like he could be better at. So that helped me getting to see him, you know, as someone that I view as such a leader. Getting to. Yeah, getting to hear him talk about things that he kind of struggles with and, and see. And hearing him talk about what he wants. Wants to see God move more in his life and so cool. So that's one of them. Then obviously the. The. The one that you're about to say was a big one.
Christian Huff
I like videoing my dad so much that night, and I hear my dad speak all the time, but just his posture is so beautiful. And like, I see my dad speak a lot in big sages, but for him to, like, come in on a. In a small group of people and share with one, the same passion he shares in big moments, but two, like, just a different level of humility. Man, I just respect him so much as a leader. And I was like, recording because, like, I want to remember just like, like seeing my dad do this, like, this is so cool. I'm so proud of him. But. So that was one for me too. But then we actually went to Texas A and M this week. This is my third year in a row getting to go to Breakaway, and it is just the most beautiful. Ministry college students meet Tuesday every single Tuesday at Breakaway, led by incredible leaders who are friends of ours. And so it was kind of just like a crazy week. I mean, it's been a crazy month for us, but the filming and everything. And then we actually ended up taking a bus, bus to A. M. And we actually filmed this. So I'm super excited to show you all this on the show. But we took a bus. I slept with Haven. Hardly slept at all. It was so wild. And then we just had so much going on. And then I, you know, was going to preach the. Or I did preach the first one and the second one. So we did a 7pm and a 9pm, what's it called?
Unspecified Speaker
Service.
Christian Huff
Service. Yes. I was thinking session. That's not the word service. And I was just, like, feeling so excited, but also, like, physically really tired. And it was so cool because you kept speaking to me like, you know, God is made perfect in your weakness, and, like, it's when you're weak, he is strong in you. And, like, it was just really cool for Christianity speak that scripture for me and me to really feel that. And whenever I went out and preached, like, I had so much energy and, like, so much passion. I had so much fun. I felt so energized and sustained and just filled with the spirit to give this message. I felt so confident in. And then, like, right after the first one, I was, like, so tired again. I was like, whoa, okay. My body's so tired, but I'm so thankful and, like, so grateful we get to do this. And then stepped into the second one and had the same energy, like, the same passion, the. The same confidence, that same, like, Holy spirit takeover moment. Like, you really are strong when I am weak. And to, you know, remind myself of that verse, be reminded of that verse, and then step into it and really feel. That was so cool. So when you said, what's your favorite thing God did for you this week? It was just really cool to see the word active and alive. And I got to see how the word that I was preaching, the word of God, was inspiring other people and how that scripture was coming to life in their life and even hear some testimonies after. But for me personally, to get to experience such an amazing thing by God was really, really cool.
Unspecified Speaker
And then even too, we had. We had one. One guy on our film crew that's filming for the show, like, actually be really impacted by. By the event and by kind of some of the stuff backstage that was really cool, like, hearing him say he's. He's actually really interested.
Christian Huff
Yeah.
Unspecified Speaker
In faith and kind of what. And what we're doing. So that was a really cool kind of foot in the door of, you know, potentially something that can. Can open up to more in the future. So, yeah, that was actually one. One of the really big ones for me was. Was getting to have that conversation and see him be curious about and just.
Christian Huff
Feel, like, lean into it, like, the love. And they just say, wow, like, I'm experienced religion in this way. Like, this good of a way. And that was really beautiful. So I feel like this week we've just been able to have a lot of, like, Amazing God conversations. And, you know, we had just gone through, like, a whole month of having the flu, which was so hard for our family. And it was just a hard couple weeks. And someone actually asked me about that. Like, was that hard for y'all? Did y'all experience fomo? Like, yes, all of it we experienced. All of it was very, very hard and difficult. So to come after, like, those weeks of being, like, isolated and feeling super depleted and weak and, like, taking care of kids and trying to take care of herself and all those things to having, like, this week where God just felt so tangible, such a gift and just a reminder in life that, like, man, every day is different, you know, but God really does remain the same. Like, one of the thing in the message I was preaching is, like, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I don't matter what your yesterday felt like, what your today feels like, or what your tomorrow is going to feel like. He is the same. And so when you find yourself in him, man, there is an assurance, there is a confidence, there's an anchoring point, no matter what day you have, no matter what season it looks like. And I'm so thankful for that. And I feel like, literally in the month of January, we've been able to see that. We've been challenged by it. Some days are easier to believe that than others. Some days are easier to see that than others. But, man, at the end of it, I'm looking back at January like, God, you have taught us a lot at the start of 2025 and processing what that's going to look like. But anyways, again, thank you guys for sending in dms. We love answering them. Please keep sending them the funny ones, the silly ones, and the deep ones. We love to talk about it all. We love y'all, and I hope you have a great week.
