Hello all you humans out there listening.

Let me start by thanking you for taking the time to listen to my podcast “You are not a Villain”.

My name is Nasser, I’m a Portuguese man living in the UK and I have absolutely no qualifications to be doing something like this! I do, however, enjoy listening to people’s stories, so if you do as well, I hope you enjoy going on this journey with me.

The past almost 2 years have been really hard guys. In my case, it was a very bumpy ride with depression, anxiety, and some much-needed therapy.

By now I am finally able to deal with some of these things. Some days better than others, obviously. But what I found over the course of all that is that there is a certain power in saying things out loud. Not just to acknowledge them and understand them better, but also to share those feelings and thoughts with people who I never even thought might be going through the same thing.

And that really helped a lot: feeling like I wasn’t the only one, and that I wasn’t going mad.

I found that sometimes just venting really lifted a weight off my shoulders and I wanted to give other people a safe space to do the same. And that’s when the idea for this podcast was born.

The plan is to interview interesting people, know about their lives and the struggles that they’ve been through. But also all the things that they’ve accomplished and that keep them going!

My goal is to help my guests, and you listening, if you find any of it relatable, to realise that we are not villains. I don’t care if you’re the hero in your story, the victim or just a bystander, I can guarantee the one thing you’re not is a villain.

No matter how strong or vulnerable you are, we’re all just human, my friends.

Now, you might be thinking "why do this on a podcast when I can do it over drinks in a pub?" Well... you're not wrong, you can. And I'll gladly join you! But if you’d like to share your story or listen to the ones that my guests will tell, I hope you can join me, whether it’s laughing or crying.
