Fivel (Kiley) Fox & JohnPaul talk about all things Addams Family, and whatever else the kooky show inspires. We are beginning by going through the Original Addams Family TV Show (1964) episode by episode. This podcast focuses more on the themes of the Addams Family and less an in depth technical dive.

We talk about John Astin's first appearance in the The New Addams series as Great Grandpapa Addams. Summary for the New Addams episode below: Grandpapa Addams comes to stay with the family while they rebuild his neighborhood. The family knows he still misses his late wife, Delilah, so they make arrangements to surprise Grandpapa with a gift of two weeks at Club Dead, a swinging resort for singles over 50. Grandpapa finds out but mistakenly thinks he's being sent to a nursing home so then tries to prove his youth to the family and pretends to be 50 years younger. This causes Morticia to think he's losing his mind, so she calls a nursing home. Meanwhile, Pugsley explains the misunderstanding to Grandpapa, so he eagerly goes with the attendants, thinking they're taking him to the resort.

The kids bring back to life Vlad Addams who was in love with Morticia. Vlad attempts to kill Gomez to get Morticia back. Hijinks ensue. Fivel Fox & JohnPaul also talk about why art is important, Japanese film, Godzilla, hate versus dislike, collectibles, and much more!

Fivel and JohnPaul discuss the end of season one, the impact of The Honeymooners, Fester's Quest, self esteem, healthy relationships, Yogi Bear, community, being punk rock, and more! Episode summary below: A magazine article by eminent psychologist Dr. Francois Chalon has Uncle Fester believing Gomez's and Morticia's marriage is doomed to fail because they are too compatible. Fester makes it his duty, for family peace and harmony, to get them fighting so they can let off emotional steam and become a truly happy couple. He recruits others in the family to help but winds up with little to show for it. Finally, Fester calls in Dr. Chalon himself. However, the eminent doctor proves to be a modern-day Casanova when he starts to woo Morticia. Gomez challenges Dr. Chalon to a duel for her hand. Chalon is more than happy to oblige as he is a great swordsman. But when Chalon realizes that Morticia will never go away with him, he leaves.

See below for episode description: Low grunts and grumbles while at the harpsichord constitute Lurch's manner of singing. Lurch's musical talent earns him a record deal and legions of teenage fans. All that blind adoration goes to Lurch's head, and the Addames quickly find they have a self-centered butler who won't "buttle" any longer. When told that he will be going on a "world tour", Lurch loses his voice. After regaining his voice, Lurch decides to stay home when he is mobbed by fans.

Fivel & JohnPaul discuss the changing role of occupational counselors today, Chumbawamba, dancing as a movement, Rorschach tests, Richard Deacon, when to give up, Cousin Itt, the role of shame, and much more! Episode description below: Morticia thinks marriage counseling would be the perfect career choice for Cousin Itt. To prove it to him, she and Gomez pretend to be a couple in trouble. But things go awry when she starts believing in parts of Gomez's fanciful play-acting. Now Morticia and Gomez really are a couple in trouble, and Itt won't do as a marriage counselor at all. Morticia and Gomez call professional vocation advisor Mortimer Phelps (Richard Deacon) to find Cousin Itt a job. Phelps evaluates Itt and decides he should be a marriage counselor.

Uncle Fester is going to meet his pen pal, and he needs to live up to the fibs he has been writing. The family helps out by buying him toupees for the big meet up. Hilarity ensues.
