Creating a Facebook group is still extremely important. If you think about Facebook and where it's at, it's the third most visited website in the world and you have even Gen Z jumping in. As long as it's all about groups now, groups are still important because that's where communities are made. People go in to check what's happening in their local communities or in their communities for things that they love. For example, if you're part of a community that cycles into area or that gardens in an area or whatever, it is the point. Today I want to go over how to build a Facebook group for your past clients, specifically. All right, well, I'm Tristan. This is your daily real estate. You know me by now. I've built the largest community for real estate agents in the world over the last 12 years. And one of those things that was my claim to fame was building just a simple Facebook group. And so I get to talk about this often. I worked with Facebook and Instagram for four years because we did this. And I have an outline of nine things now. I simplified it obviously, because we only have five minutes. Right? Or so. So bear with me on this one. Keep track of if you need this. This is episode 726. You can just listen, sit back and learn. Number one, define the purpose. Here's what I wrote down. Decide what the group is for. Staying in touch, sharing local info, doing giveaways. Like my friend and coach. One of our coaches in our organization, Matt Witty, he just has it for giveaways, celebrating wins and offering home tips. Whatever you want. You can go wider, you can go narrower. Just keep it clear. Decide what this looks like for you. All right, number one, define the purpose. Number two, create the group. That's probably the easiest thing you're going to do. Go to Facebook, choose groups and then create new group. You're going to choose the name and you know, the name is kind of important. I would say brainstorm with ChatGPT and make it something that, that it's memorable and maybe if it's specific to your past clients, like we're saying, it could be Tristan. Like for me it would be like Tristan's home circle or Tristan's close friends or Tristan's past client, whatever you want to call it. Right. Just make sure that you remember when you create this name, you're also hopefully going to create a brand that goes along with it. Right. Number three, set up the basics. Here's what I got as the basics. Add the COVID photo with your branding and your city and your area and thank goodness for ChatGPT because that has made your life so much simpler. Go to Gemini. They have. I forgot it was something Banana Nano Banana Nano Banana two now. And just have it create a Facebook banner for you that showcases your city, your area, whatever you want. It does an amazing job. Now, that's it. Now, short description that explains who the group is for and what they get. For example, I have an example here. It says, this group is for my past clients and friends. I share local perks, home tips and fun giveaways as a thank you for trusting me. When with the home journey. Easy Number four, Create simple group rules. Rules are there just so that if somebody breaks them, you're like, hey, you know what? We've got a rule. It's please don't do this. Give them a warning, right? But easy rules like be kind and respectful. No outside promotions. Obviously keep things local and helpful. And this is not a place for public complaints or about the neighbors or about whatever. Let's just use this as a place where we can all grow together. Right? Easy. Number five, Add a welcome post and pin it to the top. It welcomes them, it reminds them who created the group and also lets them know what to expect. Here again, giveaways, local tips funds. Where? Where can they find this stuff? How often do you do it? And then invite them to join. Maybe your newsletter if you've got one. Right. Number six, Invite your past clients. That's a great one. This is where. Now you got it all built out. This is where you can start inviting all of your past clients or your sphere or whoever you want and you send the personal message. It's pretty easy. I have an example here if you need this. Oh yeah, episode 726 just message me. I says hey. Name? Hey Joe. I started a small private group for past clients where I can share local perks, small gifts and homeowner tips. I would love to have you in there. Can I send you an invite? Easy. And wait for them to say yes, right or no. Thank you. I'm already part of enough groups. Number seven, Plan simple gift and connection moments. So here's how I've seen it done well and we've done it too. Obviously at this point, I built over easily over a hundred groups and 20 of them have now gone over 10,000 people, obviously a few over 100,000. But here's how you do it. Plan simple gift and connection moments. Free or low gift items work well. Monthly digital gift, Coffee gift card drawing, Local coupon codes, Giveaways for comments on posts, birthday shout outs. First to comment gets a small gift, things like that. And what my friend, again friend and a brilliant tribe coach, Matt Witty does is he does a quarterly giveaway, whether it's an Apple watch or a TV or something. Remember, these are his past clients and they absolutely love it. They tune in. That's the key. Number eight, show up weekly. Pick two or three things to do every week. One fun or personal post. Let them know what's going on in the neighborhood, how the market is, what you're doing, what you're up to. It could be so many different things here. It doesn't have to be every day either. It could be every other day, right? If you can't do it every day or every two or three days, just the point is, make sure that you show up. And one giveaway that you can do monthly, every two months, every quarter, whatever you want to do, just show up consistently. And number nine, celebrate. And track every month. Look at how many people posted and commented and engaged with the post, which post got the most responses. See what's working. Because a lot of us don't go back to see. Ooh, that worked really well. Oh, that gifted really well. Past clients are really enjoying this, right? So pay attention. Obviously this is super basic, but it gives you the right nine steps to actually get started and get going. We'll talk again tomorrow.
