If you hang out with real estate agents enough, you know that they are amazing storytellers. They love people and they bring this lightness to the room and bring people together. Now the challenge is translating that over to social media. Agents are so good in person, but they have a challenge being that great in front of a camera. I'm working on it personally, telling better stories on social media and I want you to work on it. I've got these 10 questions that you can ask yourself so that you can better capture daily stories. I call this finding stories to tell your audience. Now I've got all of the 10 questions for you and I'll tell you how to get them at the end. Let's get right into this one. I'm Tristan. I've been doing this for now. This your daily real estate podcast for two years. We're on episode 743 and I've been helping real estate agents for now, 22 years. Pretty crazy, the consumer, right, that we both talk to and agents for that long built lab coat agents about 12 years ago now just for the mere reason of wanting to help out the industry. And here I am again in this podcast bringing it to you to help you out questions to ask yourself at the end of each day so you can find stories to tell your audience on social media. Number one, what moment made me stop today, even for a second? Okay, why is that? Well, if you stopped enough to think about it, you're like, it might be worth telling, right? I want you to write these down. This one, if I think back today, I'm like, oh yeah, there was a moment for me. Great, can I tell a story now? Let me write this out. Let me see how it would fly. Number two, what surprised me today and what happened right before and right after. If I'm thinking about this for me, and let's see if I can tell a story on this one, I was hangry today, so can I tell a story on that one? Probably. But I'm always hangry if I don't eat. Yeah, that'd be a great story. Give you more insight into how I function. I like that one. But what about you? What surprised you today and what happened right before and right after it? Number three, what did I talk, who did I talk to today and what moment felt real instead of surface level? Now, every, every day or every few days, you're going to talk to somebody and it's going to feel good. It's going to feel like there's a connection there and there's a Reason, you've got to pay attention to those things. This is why these 10 questions, when you ask yourself, you can show up better telling stories on social media, whether it's YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, doesn't matter. Number four, when did I feel something strong today and what caused it? And when we're talking about this, we're talking about maybe feelings like anger, happiness, sadness, joy, excitement, these things, because they're usually tied to a strong reason and there might be a story behind it. Like for me, question number two so far. And question number four, they're related because I was hangry, so I was angry. Number five, where did I have to adjust on the fly today? That could be a story. Like, I was going this way, now I'm going this way. I was going to help out a client over here. Then I went over this way. Ooh, this, that. I like that one. Number six, what challenge did I face today? Even a tiny one, and how did I respond to that challenge? I like that one. Right? Especially with real estate with so many different challenges with properties that you have to show over here with this one under contract. Right? Just be careful on what stories you can and can't tell. Right? But there's a lesson. That's why I like that one. Number seven, did I notice a moment where I hesitated or almost chose a different path? Now, this one could also be a strong lesson. It could also be, hey, look, I was going to go this way with this client because they're looking to do this, but we decided to go over here and here's why. All these things written down can really help you tell amazing stories. Number eight, what clicked for me today that hadn't clicked clicked before? Probably the biggest lesson here, whatever that would be. I'm assuming number eight doesn't happen that often, but it's good to go through because this may be the day. Number nine, what detail from today would I normally forget by tomorrow? This could be something small, kind of going the other route, saying, hey, what was so insignificant today that I almost overlooked it? But wow, it was actually pretty great. And I could tell a quick little story about that. An anecdote, right? Number 10, did I catch someone being very human today and what were they doing? You translate that how you want. But the key to this is I want you to read these. And if you can't read them every night, I'm not reading them every night, but every three, four, five days. Print this out. Look at it, read it. This will help you develop better stories because you're capturing them through the day. Like, ideally for me, I'm trying to read them every night, but I find that I'm also doing these other things. So realistically, I'm probably doing these every three days and it's helping me retain, on those days better stories for that specific day. I'm like, oh, I can tell that that's how I ended up telling that. Why realty story on my Instagram. I'm like, oh, let me just, let me just talk about it. Because people want to know what's why, and they always look super confused. And I'm like, ooh, that's a good one. I'm going to tell people about that one. And it worked well. It's doing very well. People connected with it. Anyway, I want you to tell better stories. These are the 10. And like I said I was going to give them to you. I am going to give them to you there. This is episode 743, finding stories to tell your audience. If you need this, simply message me on Instagram and I'll send this over to you. Now, if you're watching this on Instagram, this short, just say 7:43. Well, don't say it, comment it and it'll send over hopefully automatically if it's working. Now, if it's me who's actually sending it to you because you DM'd me, I'm not gonna send it to you as quickly unless you get lucky. And I'm on Instagram and I'll message you. Most of the time, it'll take me a day or two because it's actually me sending it. So be patient with me. And if you're looking to develop systems questions like this, if you're looking to grow your business, you're like, I am ready to go to that next step. Maybe group coaching with our A brilliant tribe is for you, where we keep you accountable, we show you what's working because we're doing it, Our brokerage is doing it.
