And 54% are pessimistic about the U.S. economy as they face rising prices for growth, groceries and transportation. And more Americans are making changes to deal with higher prices. Most of those polls said they're cutting back on dining out and delivery apps, brand name and premium groceries as well as clothing. Many admitted they are dipping into savings to cover daily expenses, using a credit card for groceries and household essentials and taking on extra work, a side hustle or a second job to increase their income.
