Loading summary

With a CNBC you Money minute. I'm Jessica Edinger. More existing homes sold in February than in January. A small rebound, but the number was still below the number of homes that sold the same month last year. And that hints at a sluggish start to the spring home buying season. Without a ton of homes out there for sale, prices stayed high. Too tight supply is still pressuring prices. The median price of a home sold in February? $398,000, an increase of 0.3% year over year. That's see NBC's Diana Olek. She adds that homes sat on the market longer last month. It continues to take longer to sell a home 47 days, up from 42 a year ago. 34% of buyers were first timers, an increase from 31% a year ago. One detail people are paying a lot of attention to now how many existing homes were sold to investors, not other people planning to move in, but to companies that plan to flip or just rent out the property. 16% of sales were to investors. Change from a year ago. More on buying and selling a home and more Data are@cnbc.com I'm Jessica Ettinger, CNBC.
