From the. From the. From a plane. I wonder if anyone's ever posted it, like flying over it of what it.

Looks like those small planes. You just feel everything. It's so much worse than like a big commercial jet like you are. The turbulence is times, you know, I.

Thought I'd feel safer on those, like, on those like private. No, I do like now I commercial, I. I don't feel anything anymore. Like once, if you've ever. If you ever try like a jet Suite X or those smaller planes, you feel so much better going to like commercial airline.

Those tinier ones, they feel everything. You're like, where is my Laraza party?

Yeah. And those are the flights that the ones you hear about.

So, yeah, it's scary.

Did you. So you're. How did you time your drive? Because I know if you drive without traffic, it's like two hours, but if you go during traffic, it's like six plus hours.

Oh, yeah, big time. You got to get out of Dodge in LA at a decent time. Otherwise, like if you're leaving after five on that Thursday to get to Coachella, good luck. You're going to be arriving well late into the night. Yeah, we left I think around like 10:30, 11.

Okay. Did you drive?

[Matt]

I drove.

[Heath]

Yeah, all the way. And we did the express lanes and all that. So we zipped right there. It could have been worse, but we got there. It said 2 hours and 30 minutes, but it took us more like 3 hours.

Heath and I were talking about this on the way there. Do you remember the one Coachella where I drove your car back to la?

[Zayn]

Yes.

I was like, I think I just realized I barely knew you. I was like, I can't believe he drive his car.

That was the first year we went and that was like when we first started dating and I just got that car.

You just got the car was your Range Rover?

Oh, get this. So I, we arrive to our. Our house or whatever, and it's like, it's like a three car garage situation. But the garage in our house is an arcade. Full blown, like arcade, basketball, poker table, you know, the little shuffleboard kind of thing. And so it's like, it seems like, okay, well, we really can't park in the garage because this is like an extension of the house. So we drive up and there's already kind of like three or four cars. I park just behind one of the cars in the driveway and we're just like, all right, let's unload our stuff. And you can see my car is like sticking out onto a sidewalk. A sidewalk that is cobblestoned. Okay. But it almost looks like an accent end to the driveway itself.

In your brain, upon seeing it and arriving, you would not think that this. You would think it's part of the driveway.

And so we're unloading our stuff and I then walk outside and I see a security guy like, pull up to the house and he slows down and I'm like holding my stuff in my bags and I'm like waiting for him. And like, I wave at him.

And he waves at me. And I stand there for probably like 45 seconds thinking he's about to say something.

[Zayn]

And we like wave. And I'm like, okay, whatever. I go back inside chatting with everyone and then I'm like, all right, I'm gonna go back out, get more of the stuff. I'm walking out and the security guys like stand the driveway I'm like, hey, man, is my car good right here? And he goes, I just wrote you a citation, man. No. And I go, dude, we just looked at each other. I waved at you, and you waved back at me. And he's like, I know, man. But, you know, it's just against, like, policy or whatever because you're blocking the sidewalk.

And I go, say something.

I was like, that's. And he had, like, this body came on. He was not a cop. He was a security guard.

[Zayn]

Once again, I'll respect him. I was being nice, but I was a little, like, we had a moment, dude.

You could have told.

Then I was like, do you need to take a picture of me, like, with the car, like, just to prove this? And he's. And I'm like, oh. I go, well, how much is it? He goes, that's. That's not on me. That's up to, like, you know, the association. And I was, no.

Yeah. He needed. He. Because they have a quota they have to reach. So then his head. He's like, damn, I really need. I really need this one as a ticket today to meet my quota.

And it was just, like, right when we got here, dude.

Like, so we had to manage to move around cars.

And I just don't like people sitting around, like, ruining people's day or waiting.

To ruin people say, I. I literally couldn't. I would find another job. I could not do that to somebody and then have them come out and be like, dude, I was right here, and I have to be like, well.

It was within 10 minutes, like, of just looking at me. Even less than that for, like, five minutes.

I was just so shocked that he pulled that move. And I'm like, we had a moment.

So easily. Could have been like, hey, dude, if you stay there, I'm gonna have to give you a ticket. If you could pull up, like, another foot, you're good.

It took me a while because I thought he said, like, something about the drama, man. And I'm like, what the Is he talking about the drama? And I'm, like, throwing out the trash. I keep playing in my head. I go, oh, my pajama.

It took me, like, 30 seconds to.

Realize that is pretty great. Like, how that's very bold to give a ticket, knowing that and going like, hey, I would have a good day.

You party up the night for the Thursday before. Is there a little mixers going on?

It's the same every. Like, nothing really different. This year, I would say, like, they.

Do their welcome dinner, and it's always John and Vinnie's. So they fly out John and Vinnie chefs to come cook, like, a whole, like, family style, like, passed around all of, like, the favorites on the menu. So they do that every year. So we had that whole dinner the night that we had got in, and you pretty much just get to, like, relax and everything and stay in the first day. You go in the hot tub, the pool, whatever you get.

[Zayn]

Yeah. And that night, I. Me and Alyssa, we went to. We went to a, like a party after, like, one of the revolve after parties. And you know. You know when it's so late where you walk into a party and it's.

[Matt]

Just like, what have I done?

[Zayn]

What have I done? That's exactly what happened. We walked. We're like, what have we done to dad?

[Matt]

Or just like, it to. Not the vibe.

[Zayn]

It was just like, you know when it's so late and the people just around are just like, oh, my God. Actually, you know what? This was a bad call.

You can tell they've been out all. All day and all. Like, you could tell, like, they are just gone.

They're fried. Like. You excited about tomorrow? Yeah, it's going to be intense, right?

It hasn't even started yet. I was like, the Friday has not come yet. How are you guys gone? It's crazy. It, like, blows my mind.

Speaking of people getting in I heard that camp parking was a mess getting in this year.

People were camping, car camping, but getting able. Getting to your slot. So apparently this year, I believe Coachella hired a different security company than the past because, like, apparently this company was cheaper.

Yeah.

[Matt]

And I think it was like they had 32 lanes that they had to manage. Six of the lanes completely unoccupied with security guards. It became like a free for all frenzy. People are bottlenecking. People who got there at 3:30am could not and did not park until like, 1:30.

[Heath]

Yeah. They were saying it was like 12.

[Matt]

Hours, cars ran out of gas.

[Zayn]

And this. Wait, this is Friday or this is Thursday.

[Heath]

Getting in, getting into go car camp.

[Zayn]

Wow.

[Matt]

Brutal. Apparently, there was also a DJ that was kind of a big popular DJ that was performing that Thursday night.

[Zayn]

It was like, t. No, it was.

[Matt]

Something park or Lake. Chris Lake, maybe.

[Zayn]

I did see it was like a big DJ that, like, that caused, like.

[Matt]

Also a lot of, like, hype and frenzy too, because people are like, oh, people, you got to catch the DJ set. And people are just getting really competitive.

[Zayn]

Yeah.

[Matt]

And people are just saying, no, this is my spot. No, you. And like, the videos I saw people getting in fights looked insane. And I could imagine getting in a fight next to a person that you're about to be partnered.

[Zayn]

Oh, yeah.

For three days.

And we did core camping a couple years back at Coachella, and it is like, it's because it's already. It's a lot already because it's hot as hell. You're paying so much money to be in those spots. Yeah. But you know what? This year, I was walking by the camp, and bro, they got some good now. They make. They make their spot. They make their spot look.

Oh, I love watching walking around campsites because you just could be like, what you're. What's your creativity? What's your spin? What's your theme?

[Mariah]

There's a couple of, like, interior decorators and designers that I follow on Tick Tock. And the way they set up their whole thing with, like, coffee tables and, like, convertible couches and beds, chandeliers.

[Matt]

They're like, which house you stay.

[Zayn]

There was a whole community. Like, I saw people posting tiktoks of like. Like, there was one kid that went viral for coughing while a kid was trying to do a TikTok showing his area, and he just kept coughing door next door. And it look. And everyone's like, yo, is this, like, is this. Is this. What's it? District 9? It just felt. Or is this, like, Covet Camp? It just felt like, really? I was like, just hearing the cops. And it went viral. And the guy found. He's like, look, it's the. It's coughing, man. And that one went viral, too. I'm like, people, there's a community out there. Yeah, everybody. And, like, you're going viral the moment you're posting. So everybody's seeing it, and they're like, wait, we got to find that guy that was coughing. Yes. Too. In car camping is so funny.

I didn't see any snakes this year.

[Zayn]

There were snakes.

[Matt]

I remember, like, was it last year, like, two years ago? There was, like, someone filmed in the grass. Oh, dude. Like, slivering right underneath the tent.

[Zayn]

And it's.

Oh, that would have been it. I would have sold my spot. I've been like, guys.

So, like, desert snakes, too.

And the showers I saw was another crazy line.

Super duper showers were the ones that were, like, a mile long, apparently. But the regular showers had no lines.

But the sets and just what was going on. Insane. I wish she played a little bit more older stuff. It was a lot of new album, which still is phenomenal. But I, I.

Damn. I do remember that Beyonce show though. It was crazy even seeing from far away because we were far. Remember when we watched it? Yeah, but we were far. We're like like, damn, that's a mile away.

And you could just hear.

That was a show where you could have been honestly, any. Anywhere at that festival. And you would have gotten a good show because they showed everything.

Down that Runway. And you're just like Coachella Charlie xcx. I think hands down, one of the best performances all weekend. And down in the history books. No background dancers, no hardcore set, nothing that just served non stop and had the crowd in the palm of her.

Dude, it was crazy. It was so fun just watching her just like, just Just like, just dance. Just, just rock out and dance.

They're raising Kane's food truck outside of this party. Like, obviously, I'm going to be outside of the food truck.

Yeah. They leave, and as I'm in the middle, because we just separated, Charlie comes right on the DJ and just, like, puts her headphones on and starts. I'm like, oh, cool. And I look around, and no one's in this room but me. And I'm like, all right.

It was really funny. I was like, why is no one here is. Because she just started. And I was like, oh, my God. So I pulled out my phone. I'm like. But I felt so weird. Just Taking a video of her, but.

And shows her wristband. And he's like, okay. And lets her through. But thought this was just the bathroom. There was a whole bathroom for everybody, but she just assumed that that was the bathroom. Oh, yeah. Very tradition, like, traditional rules that you have to follow, like, no cussing. You can't see, like, any kind of, like, branded stuff, negative about the festival, and you're like, you're thinking of all these things as you're going, and you. But you want to be yourself.

We interviewed shipwrecked and then right after that, we went to go to the VIP section to play games with people.

Or bored on the street. It was really cool.

[Heath]

It went smoothly. Went really well. Obviously there's like, awkward moments, as with any live, but just because we had one microphone for the four of us when we were out there and then we were also bringing other people on. So it's six people standing there with one microphone and we're like, oh. Oh, you're. Oh, you're. It got, like a little funky with that, but that was the only thing. Also, Remy and I had a. A headphone earpiece in, so they were talking directly to us the whole time. So I'm hearing stuff in my ear while trying to also, like, have the conversation. And it's really funny because Zayn was trying to be sweet and promote the Remy Cruz bowl and he's like, bringing the Remy Cruz bowl out and he's, like, talking about it. They're in my ear, like, get the ball out of there, but don't eat it on camera.

[Zayn]

In my head was like, I'm so in my head. I was like, I'm surprised they're letting us promote this. Remy's. Remy's cruise. Remy cruise bowl.

[Heath]

So then Patrick Star comes in and Zane's like, you gotta try this.

They're like, get the ball out.

And I'm like.

I was feeling, like, uncomfortable because I didn't want to be like, get it out of here.

But to me, it's like, to me, I'm just like. Like, just grab the bowl out of my hand.

Yeah, bombing it, whatever. So she was standing back there, and she was just us. The sun was in her eyes. So she's doing this and she's on her phone just, like, guarding. All the comments were like, that. Pick me back there. She just wants to get every comp. It was. They were so distracted. They were like, there's that girl in the white again, like.

And all the comments was a YouTube worker.

[Mariah]

She was a worker guarding the space to make sure nobody would come in. But all the comments were saying, like, tell me you want to get in the shot without telling me.

Like, oh, my gosh, she wants to.

Get in the show. She's pretending to look for her friend. And, like, it was the funniest.

[Zayn]

It's funny because when you like watching it, I'm sure it probably looks like.

Looks like I was putting myself in their shoes. I'm like, oh, it does look like she's, like, pretending to look and like, she's looking at the camera. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was really funny. So they were nervous about some awkward parts, but I'm like, don't. They were so distracted by the woman behind you. It didn't. Didn't even matter. Really funny.

But, yeah, it went well and we did good.

That was pretty. That was the last day. I was exhausted after that, though, because we had to be there early in, like, the artist section and, like, going through all the prep and everything. Like, you know, we had to be in, like, the trailers and everything.

But if I. If we didn't. If we didn't do that live Sunday, and we did another day, I definitely would have rested Sunday.

I have both of my big toes, black blood, full of it. And I didn't even get it from something cool. I didn't drop anything on it. I didn't earn it. Normally you drop like something heavy and it smashes it. Yeah, your toenail dies. Whatever. My toenail is black and it was from just working on my car. I had my foot bent. So it's just me from me taking a knee for like eight hours while I was working on my car, just having my toe bent. Like, just like, like, how is it bad in this position?

But I remember year he's 48 years ago, I danced. It was a one off thing for the Minnesota Vikings and it was just this big performance for one of their galas. It's their new stadium that opened. We performed in front of the team and their family and friends, whatever. And Jennifer Hudson opened for us. And I was like, does nobody. Nobody was freaking out. I'm like, does nobody know who this is? American Idol.

We were talking about love island at the festival and we're talking about how they they on the show. We talked about how they blew up and imagine just like getting your phone back and your phone. After the show, just the high that they were all on for like months after. I'm like, h. I always feel like.

That kind of happens though, with bachelor people the season that they come out of it when they're walking around LA and stuff, they think they like, they're always too cool for school. And then bachelor people, like, after a couple seasons are like, hey, nice to meet you.

[Zayn]

But. And I'm saying that at Friends with. It's the bachelor people that, like, I've.

Observed that world, though, where they wouldn't even give you the time of the day. And then it's just literally just a couple months later, they're just like, hey, you weren't acting like that when I.

It's crazy.

Yeah, they're. Yeah. I was hanging out with some bachelor people, but they were so nice. But I remember, like, their season. And I'm like, you. You could. Wouldn't look me in the eye.

We were walking through the festival, and there's times where, like, when we're walking fast, trying to get somewhere, I. I try not to stop. If someone's like, like, well, you lose.

You lose your friends. Yeah. So I. And I. I love. I. I'm good at losing people quick because I will stop and turn around, and my eyes just don't work anymore. So I was. It is crazy with the sea of bodies, how fast you can lose someone. Like, it's Patricia. We were trying to get close to, like, find one of our friends, and they were between two towers, and we were kind of looking around, and. And I go, just stay right here. I'm just going to walk just over here. Like, I'm like. I'm talking maybe 20ft away.

It's like the beach.

I'm like, I'm just going to loop right back. I do the loop, and then I look back and I'm like, I have no clue where I am. And I could not find Patricia for the longest time. I'm like, it's crazy looking back through people.

But you know what? They've gotten so much better with the signal. The cell signal. I. Yeah. For the past three years, I'm able to text, call, and it sends videos.

[Matt]

[Zayn]

I do think they need to change the letters on the towers because the D looks like a B from far away. It needs.

They should just make them different colored lights. It's so easy.

Installations. Art. Instantly. A lot of people use art installations to, like, meet up with people by feel. Like they need something more identifiable.

It's always great when you're near, like, somebody who has, like a little totem pole or like, I was with this guy who had this neon mohawk, and we're that lit up and I go, we're right by the guy with the neon.

[Zayn]

Every time I see one of those things in my. My head, I was like, oh, we'll do that next year. And you never do.

[Matt]

No. But then. And then you. And then the person moves. You're like, I need you to stay here. I told Prince we were right next to you. You cannot leave right now.

[Zayn]

Leave, don't leave. That's only if cell signal was not working at all because you are so, like, your whole night is ruined when you don't have cell signal and you lose somebody. So. But the. That VIP section was always the best place to meet up.

[Matt]

And it was great. He could walk around with drinks. This year I did. I guess in the middle.

[Zayn]

Yeah, you can.

[Heath]

There was no outside of vip.

[Matt]

You can walk out of vip, the festival.

[Zayn]

You can drink.

[Matt]

And there's no. There's no beer garden, like, things anymore. Like. Or there are beer gardens, but you can legit just, like, get it and go. It was. That was a big game changer, like, in terms of not having to, like, binge drink in order to go somewhere else.

[Heath]

That is good that people aren't having to, like, chug their drinks and over consume if they wanted to just go out, you know, I didn't see any.

[Matt]

Like, phone thievery or anything like that where.

[Zayn]

Well, you don't usually see it, but.

[Matt]

I thought there was, like, one year where, like, tons of people's phones got stolen, and then they busted a person's backpack. They. That was, like, filled with all the phones and, like, rolled up in foil. I forgot about that and stuff like that. I don't.

[Zayn]

I. I feel like people are, like, much more protective on their phone now.

[Matt]

Oh, yeah.

[Heath]

Oh. First year, I came in with a. A fanny pack. Game changer.

[Matt]

I had portable chargers on me. I had hand sanitizer. I had gum. Gum, mints, everything. Somebody was like, do you have bandy? Do you have.

She's a little rave mommy.

[Heath]

I was like, I do. I had little. I had. I had everything. And I felt so good because I always thought it was.

[Mariah]

You felt useful.

[Heath]

I felt. Yes. But I just always thought you could never bring anything in there.

So it was just nice to finally, like, not have to worry about, like, if my phone was gonna die.

[Zayn]

It's fine to have a friend that's wearing that fanny pie, but you don't want to have to wear it. Like, having to carry all that shit.

[Heath]

It was. It felt good to be the guy, though.

[Matt]

You can't bring in, like, big liquids and aerosol sprays, too. Like, during vip, they were just like, no deodorants. And then people are like, Joe Joan Malone. Like, like, they were getting perfumes, all of that stuff.

[Zayn]

Oh, they couldn't bring in the perfume.

[Matt]

Couldn't bring it in. Yeah. Patricia's like, mini deodorant. They, like. Well, Patricia saw. They were.

[Zayn]

Why the deodorant?

[Matt]

I don't know. Like, aerosol, I guess you could, like, light it and becomes a flamethrower. I don't know. Okay, maybe that.

[Zayn]

I don't know. Check on your fireworks first. Right. To me, it looks more dangerous than a thing of perfume. You know what I mean?
