My worst episode that I felt like I did the worst on was the time David came on because it was Halloween and there was this whole, like, Patricia was with all of her friends, and they wanted to pick me up on the party bus and I had to leave, but they all got mad at me for, like. I was like, just go on without me. So there was. People in the comments on the David episode are like, matt is just not in a good mood because I was getting hounded.

You were trying to, like, you're trying to deal with on your.

[Matt]

They were doing go karting, and then they were gonna bring the party bus to pick me up. But then I was like, don't worry about me. And then we were going to a party with Brock Hampton, like, after. And I was like, y' all just go on without me. And they just got. Oh, it. All this drama was happening on this side with the David episode.

Yeah.

I'll never forget that. It's all good. But just looking back. I remember being stressed that episode.

Oh, let's hear them. Okay. Zane, Heath and Matt, if you guys had a 9 to 5, what would you want as 9 to 5? Like what field, what specific responsibilities, etc. How do you think you would enjoy that lifestyle and was it ever something you guys thought about? Of course. I mean, I mean I did have like a 9 to 5 when I first moved to LA and I was always set that thinking this whole social media thing would be a side thing and I could still do a corporate career and have this on the side.

[Zane]

Well, what would be the corporate career?

[Matt]

You'd be probably still being advertising, like being an account. Like I was assistant account executive when I first moved out here for Apple's ad agency, which was fun. I think I probably would have pivoted after seeing what that job entailed. I think I would be more on like a media planning or like creative side of advertising. But that's just what my degree in is. That's what I felt like qualified to do.

[Zane]

Yeah.

[Matt]

And still the type of people that we interact with as influencer influencers a lot when we're doing brand deals and stuff is you're working for account executives who are representing brands and stuff. So yeah, I think that's what I would have committed to and I think sometimes I would have liked the stability of having something to do every day that is not so dependent on yourself. You're part of a team group effort. You're trying to help somebody get a bigger project done.

[Heath]

Yeah, that sounds fun.

[Zane]

I feel like we all would have been in the same like field in some way, but just like different branches of it.

[Heath]

It's crazy to think that if we didn't move to LA when we did, we would have finished with our criminal justice degree and finished.

[Zane]

I wouldn't have finished it.

[Heath]

You wouldn't have finished it?

[Zane]

Finished it? No, no, no, I would have quit. I would definitely would have dropped out.

[Matt]

And done what?

[Zane]

I don't know. I would have figured it out.

I would have. No, I would have done. I would have done like the travel job that me and my dad would do. I would still be doing that now because my dad's still doing it now.

So I would have been just up higher up in that, in that field of work and I probably would have been getting like a lot of jobs with my dad.

[Matt]

Do you think you would have still been like satisfied with it or do you think you still would have had an it do something creatively?

[Zane]

I don't think I would have had an itch to do something creatively because like I. That would have had to have happened in the early stages. You know what I mean? Like, if I never started vining, then I would have kept doing that and there's. There'd be no itch for like creativity because that's just my life now.

[Matt]

Were you still social, would you think you'd still be like social media, like, curious? Like.

[Heath]

No.

[Zane]

No, I wouldn't. Yeah, I would not. Like, I would not be watching videos, social media, nothing. If I also.

[Heath]

Or posting. We didn't really like, like that stuff. We kind of posted vine sarcastically.

[Zane]

[Heath]

Yeah. It was never like we were like, no, let's make some creative video. It was just like, we thought it was funny and like it was just kind of what it was if we didn't do that. I probably, like, I always had a dream of becoming a detective.

[Zane]

Oh.

[Heath]

Like I just loved the whole solving a crime, like, you know, putting pieces together and like, like that was like a big interest of mine. But I don't think I would ever, like, if we stopped doing social media. I don't think I would ever go back to that. I just want to be like, this is really lame, but I want to be a car salesman.

[Matt]

You'd be great at this.

[Heath]

I love the process. I love buying cars, I love selling cars. I love negotiating prices for vehicles. I just like being in a showroom. There's something. It's my happy place.

[Matt]

Yeah.

[Heath]

And I think like working for a brand, like if I was a car salesman for Porsche or like ran something like in their department, like that would be the dream. Like I would love to do that. Or open up like a consignment. Like a nice high end consignment thrift store. No, like used supercars and just.

[Matt]

Oh, that kind of stuff.

[Heath]

Nice cars that, you know, they're not a specific brand, but it's just like all of them. That would be really cool. You know, take pictures of them, make them look good, put them up on the website.

[Matt]

Yeah.

[Heath]

Pricing and everything. You're talking to people.

[Matt]

Yeah.

[Heath]

That'd be so up your alley.

[Zane]

Yeah, I feel, I feel like we've talked about that before. That's like the perfect job for you because you are really good at negotiating, getting cars at a good price.

You know how much like the people for Porsche make, like sales, just your normal salesman.

[Matt]

How much?

[Zane]

But it depends on what's the number.

[Heath]

I know people that have made over 250 a year.

[Matt]

Wow.

[Zane]

Just selling cards. Just the commission is just that high. What's the commission? Like 3%, 5%?

[Heath]

I don't know the commission number. But like you get like your salary and then you get commission for however many cars you sell and stuff. But like being able to like sell cars and make money like that is like unreal.

[Matt]

The biggest amount of respect though I have for people who have nine to fives where I'm like, I feel grateful I don't have to do that. But I understand that it's not easy and I is having to ask off time for work. Like we have like a freedom of like scheduling, like with us where like make up, we accommodate but like we don't have to go to a boss being like, hey, and you're only given a certain amount of days for holidays. Yeah, that's tough. That is not easy for people.

[Zane]

And I, I've heard, I've, I talked to quite a few people that work at 9 to 5 and apparently like wedding week, like when you get invited to a wedding that's, they don't count that as like an important thing to take off for, which is crazy.

[Heath]

Or you have to use sick days and stuff like that.

[Zane]

Yeah, use sick days that if you're out of sick days and it's like an important wedding, like, and they can just be like, no, sorry. It's like, but it's, it's my brother's wedding. It's like you can't get off.

[Matt]

Sorry.

[Zane]

It's like that's so crazy to me that they don't like look at that as important.

[Heath]

That's why you have to be like in with other people and you like, would behind the scenes be like, hey, can you cover my shift? Yeah, if you want to take something off, I'll help you out. Like you kind of.

[Zane]

And that's why, and that's why you just be like, I got a funeral to go to every week. Every week I got a funeral.

[Matt]

Sorry, you got to show like, what the death certificate too. That's like a Seinfeld episode where he like lies and he's just like, can I get the death certificate? Please.

[Zane]

Yeah, it's like, there is. I know there's like, a line with, like, how much time you can take off or, like, what. What is considered, like, abusing that, like, privilege or taking advantage of it. But, yeah, I feel like just some people really just, like, want to follow it, but they just have to take a certain amount of days of.

[Heath]

There really should be more. More time off for just.

[Matt]

Oh, yeah, every.

Like, doesn't Europe get, like, their vacation time? Isn't it, like, triple what people here get?

[Zane]

They all. They all. Are all about a holiday, though.

And even, like, maternity leave, you know, it's very important for the woman to have, you know, paid maternity leave, too. But also, like, it's good, like, the dad to have maternity leave as well, to help out your wife as well. Like, bringing this baby in the world, helping her around the house. She just gave birth. She needs help and assistance. Like, that's a whole thing that some companies do recognize and allow you to have. But it's crazy that they're not generous.

Every company except for John, like, imagine it's like the baby Johnson and Johnson. Like, people that make, like, baby products.

[Heath]

But they're the worst with it.

[Zane]

I don't care. It's shouldn't have had the baby. You're like, what?

What? It's tough with hiring, though, in maternity leave. Like, my friend just hired on a girl and then she's like, all right, you got the job. And she goes, thank you so much, by the way. I'm pregnant. She's like, what?

That's wrong.

[Zane]

So, yeah, I'm curious, like, is there, like, a legal contract where, yeah, you have the baby, but you need to come once the maternity leave is up. You are locked.

[Zane]

How much time? How much time?

[Heath]

She quits after the maternity leaves up. So she just got free money for, like, four months or whatever it is.

[Matt]

Yeah. I don't know how that all works.

[Zane]

There's got to be a time. Amount of time where, like, you're not pregnant for it before you. Right, yeah.

[Heath]

Like, listen, give me, like, six months before you have a baby. And you're like, I need. I need some sort of, like, you in the office.

[Zane]

Exactly, exactly.

That's so interesting.

[Zane]

Oh, but to what I would do for. As a 9 to 5, I would. I talk about this all the time. I think I would be such. I would do such a good job growing other people's pages. Like social media pages.

[Matt]

Yeah.

Like content creation. But like, I would have to come and I have to film it too.

[Heath]

Okay.

[Zane]

Do not, do not do it by yourself. I have to be there telling you what to do on. Which is like very. It's like very micromanaging. But it's like hands on. It's like. But do you want to look good or not?

[Matt]

You could execute. Yeah. Visions really well. You'd also be a very good music video director, I think as well.

[Zane]

I, like, I can't say I would okay for that because, like, that's. That's something where like I could be on set and I'm just like. And I would crumble and I just wouldn't even know where to start.

Like that you had. If you had five comfortable videos under your belt, I think you would get better and better and better. And you really know how the process.

[Zane]

You know what I'm good at taking a music video that already exists. This.

[Matt]

Yeah.

[Zane]

And doing a spin on it. But I'm not good at like an original. Like, come. Come with something original. I think that's like really tough.

I think if I was you for a day, I would walk around a city, any. Any city, and just soak in the little things and pay attention and just really enjoy the moment of things.

I would like to, because I like just to slow down for a second and just be able to look around and just be like. Like, find the beauty and, like, certain things and.

Do you think it would be beneficial to move to LA to start in the entertainment industry? Is it the same LA that you guys move to and what do you have to do to break into YouTube? Great question and a lot to take in. I think if you're going to move to LA and if you want to be in the entertainment industry, make sure you have a steady job on that pays the bills.

[Heath]

Yeah, I think you don't need to move to la. I just think it fast tracks certain things because everybody here is, you know, a lot of people have the same interest, same industry. So you meet so many people that are also pursuing that, that, that it's easy to network and connect and you know, not necessarily get ahead, but you just find like minded people.

[Matt]

Right.

[Zane]

But I, I feel like now compared to like even five years ago, it's becoming easier and easier to not have to come to la.

[Heath]

Yes, I agree.

[Zane]

There are so many people making content all around the world in every state in the us like you. I don't think you have to leave where you are. You could just make content from there. I, the algorithm is the same for everybody, not just because you live in la. I don't think your content's going to do any better.

[Matt]

Better.

[Zane]

I think people actually want to see people not in la. I mean, it's nice to see somebody living in the middle of Wisconsin making content, something niche.

[Heath]

We also. That's a good point because like we came out here because we wanted to collab. I feel like now on social media, like you don't really collabing on tick tock or YouTube, it's kind of just.

[Matt]

Like, yeah, everybody are too. Like I feel like if you're young and you do want to move to a new city, and if you've already had like a bit of social media success, wait till you have some social media success before coming out to la.

[Zane]

But if you're gonna do that, if you do want to collab before, don't even move out here, just fly out here for a week and a half, hit up at people that you want to collab with, make a schedule, fly out here, do your thing and then fly back you, there's no need for you to live here, pay all that money to taxes, rent, it's so expensive.

[Matt]

And I will say in terms of the collab stuff, I think when you do Hang out with people and their social media people. I think it's kind of important to just hang out and don't try to collab at first and then collab later on friends. Because there's some people who are big transactional collab people and those people ain't friends anymore. You know what I mean? Like the people who.

[Heath]

People you see right through that stuff.

[Matt]

Yeah.

[Heath]

But you're trying to benefit. You're trying to get something to gain. Like you're not like it goes and there's all.

[Zane]

But also there's nothing wrong with the transactional collapse. It happens all the time. Literally South. Like for instance Sal Volcano. That was a transactional collapse. Collabs. We like we. He wasn't coming on. We weren't going to. To be best friend. It was just like he came on to. So like there, there are time. Like it's not like a bad look. I think it all depends on if you guys enjoyed each other's company as you guys were doing your transactional collabs. If. If it hit it off then you'll hang up, you'll hang out again.

[Matt]

I think if I was an actor though, I probably would not move to la. I would move to Atlanta.

[Zane]

Oh, I, I don't.

[Matt]

I think Atlanta is more affordable to live. They're shooting more movies out there and I think there's more casting opportunities.

[Zane]

Yeah.

[Zane]

Cuz where do in Atlanta.

[Matt]

Movies, man. Like it's cheaper to film movies out there.

[Zane]

Does Atlanta look like a city that they all like, you know, you know how they'll shoot. They'll probably shoot in like Chicago or in these cities that look like New York because they could say it's New York.

[Matt]

They have to pay. It's cheaper to film a movie out there. So a lot of production houses and stuff are shooting their stuff in Atlanta so they don't have to pay California taxes.

[Zane]

Got it.

[Matt]

But.

[Zane]

But that the setting is California shooting Atlanta.

[Matt]

They are shooting it in all different types of places. They're out maybe in the middle of nowhere and they just like a production studio. It shot out in the middle of nowhere in Georgia.

[Zane]

Yeah.

A lot of actors that I've known out here who've been struggling to get work. They move now to Atlanta because they feel like there's more casting opportunities out there.

[Zane]

Yeah.

[Matt]

Than out here. So I. I would give Atlanta a shot before coming to la. But that's just what I've been hearing on the scene in the vibe of the actor scene.

[Heath]

Right.

[Zane]

But it will be on an album that I'll play through, and I'll just let it ride. Like, it's not like I put that song on. It'd be one that was three after that just plays through. And that, over time, will become my favorite song. And I'm like, how did I not like this in the beginning? I never would have, like. But after hearing it, you start to, like, learn the song you like are hearing things that you never did before. I'm like, this beats every other song that I thought I liked on the album the most.

To me, that makes it a better song that. If there's a song that you like immediate and then you don't like and a song that you didn't like but then you like, I think that one you didn't like at first and then you liked. But it has to be the certain two breeds of the mosquito. And there's a. A whole bunch of different types of mosquitoes.

When West Nile was a thing, like, as a kid, I didn't want to go outside at all that me up in Florida too.
