Lights are going up. Snow is falling down. There's a feeling of goodwill around town. It could only mean one thing. McRib is here. People throwing parties, ugly sweaters everywhere. Stockings hung up by the chimney. With care. It could only mean one thing. McRib is here. Participate in McDonald's for a limited time.

Every idea starts with a problem. Warby Parker's was simple. Glasses are too expensive. So they set out to change that. By designing glasses in house and selling directly to customers, they're able to offer prescription eyewear that's expertly crafted and unexpectedly affordable. Warby Parker glasses are made from premium materials like impact resistant polycarbonate and custom acetate. And they start at just $95, including prescription lenses.
Matt
Get glasses made from the good stuff.
Heath
Stop by a Warby Parker store near you.
Zane
Wow.
Matt
I'm not having any more.
Zane
Why not?
Matt
I just don't want that caffeine in me too long. Trying to go to bed.
Zane
Do you feel. Do you feel caffeinated?
Matt
No, just sometimes if I have caffeine, like, a little late in the day, I can feel it in my brain trying to go to bed.
Zane
That's probably why I have such a tough time at night.
Matt
You think so? Oh, go into bed. You think?
Zane
I feel. I thought caffeine didn't work, but I really think it works.
Matt
I know how it feels in my brain trying to sleep. My brain is just like a monkey with symbols. And it's like.
Zane
I feel like it's like that every night, though, without caffeine. Just like a monkey with symbols. But I usually try. I'll do, like, a little THC gummy.
Matt
Yes, that helps. That helps.
Zane
But sometimes I don't like taking because it makes me feel, like, foggy the next day.
Matt
Like, I know a little bit I.
Zane
Need something that puts me out and it doesn't give me the fog the next day.
Mariah
You know what my mom would suggest?
Zane
Honey in the ear. Pray, pray.
Mariah
I can't sleep. Pray, pray. I mean, it works.
Matt
I usually just try to count down from 100, and then that kind of gets me counting sheep. Yeah, but just counting down from 100. Rarely do I ever make it down to 10.
Zane
Really?
Matt
Like, right.
Mariah
I couldn't get past the 70s.
Matt
I start getting really bored, and I'm like, why?
Zane
Because you'd fall asleep or you just.
Mariah
My brain would just think of other things. Like, I'd be like, 99. What's that one song that's like 99?
Matt
Yeah.
Mariah
Every number would remind me of something. 98 so and so was born in 98.
Unknown
98 degrees.
Matt
They were such a good band.
Zane
Yeah, Nick, I would think about 100 ideas.
Matt
All right.
Zane
99.
Unknown
Intro.
Matt
Intro. It's coffee talk, baby.
Unknown
Let's go.
Matt
Oh, well.
Zane
Come back insane and Heath Unfiltered. I'm your host, Zane.
Unknown
I'm Heath.
Matt
I'm Matt.
Mariah
I'm Mariah.
Unknown
First of all, happy season six. This is the first episode of season six.
Zane
And we've been planning this episode all week, all year.
Unknown
Thanks for sticking with us, guys. I honestly can't believe we're already at season six. It's insane.
Matt
250 some episodes first.
Mariah
It's crazy episode.
Unknown
It's crazy how time flies.
Matt
It truly does, man.
Zane
Yeah.
Matt
And thank you to every single person who's been listen, especially the day one people. You are OG to stick with something for 250 episodes.
Zane
Yeah.
Unknown
Comment down below if you've seen every single episode. I'm so curious.
Matt
That's like more episodes than Lost. Is that more episodes than Seinfeld? Friends?
Zane
No, Seinfeld. I think Seinfeld has no more than Seinfeld180.
Matt
We probably don't have as many as, like, Days of our Lives, General Hospital.
Zane
Let's not compare ourselves to iconic shows.
Matt
We are iconic in our own place.
Zane
Let's compare this to, I don't know.
Unknown
Like Ricky Smiley in the morning.
Zane
Yeah. How many Ricky Smiley in the morning.
Matt
Or that other does it every morning.
Unknown
How many years, though?
Matt
Many decades, probably.
Unknown
So he's got his beat.
Matt
Yeah, I think so.
Zane
Or Joe Rogan. I'm sure he only has like 150.
Matt
He's in the thousands. Thousands.
Zane
Three episodes a week is absolutely diabolical. I just don't understand.
Matt
I would love to do it.
Unknown
21. 95 episodes.
Matt
Oh. But hey, we'll get there. We'll get there.
Zane
We're gonna get there so soon.
Matt
How was this weekend?
Unknown
Pretty good. What did we do? We went to the vintage flea market. They do it once a month by my house and get anything good. I got a dupars ashtray.
Matt
Whoa.
Unknown
70S.
Zane
Oh, it was in the vintage store.
Matt
Yeah.
Unknown
Just everybody like. So what they do is everybody has their own booth. So they come once a month, set up like a booth table thing and just have random things to offer. So it was just sitting on one of the tables that the. The guy was selling stuff at, and.
Mariah
It was like a pile of ashtrays.
Unknown
Yeah.
Mariah
And we saw it and it was a little pricey, but, like, no hesitation. We were like, you have to have this.
Unknown
It's like Symbolism for you smoking cigarettes.
Mariah
Into pars from the 70s is crazy.
Zane
If you guys don't know what Dupars is. Dupars used to be the diner that we would all go to all the time. We? Heath and I shot a lot of drunk.
Matt
Oh, yeah, right.
Zane
Dogs in there.
Matt
Now it's a Sephora.
Zane
Now it's a Sephora. I. I will never get over that H. Devastating.
Matt
But there's still one right down there in the Grove.
Zane
Yeah, but that's not it.
Unknown
Grove is still open. They closed Pasadena, though, too.
Matt
Oh, boy.
Zane
They close the Pasadena.
Matt
Why?
Zane
It's great food.
Unknown
I don't get it. I really don't know. And it's not like it was like an absurdly priced diner that I understand.
Zane
And it was open 24 7.
Unknown
You know what I mean?
Zane
Were they open too long every day.
Matt
Like Trader Joe's in that whole parking lot. Made it really complicated for that one area or the one on Ventura.
Unknown
Yeah, yeah, because there's more parking.
Matt
All those different. There's that crave right there that. I bet that was some hot piece of real estate. And I bet the Dupar family was like, sell it.
Unknown
I know if a. If a parking lot was full because it was, like, packed from, like, a grocery store and, like, other big spots. Like, if I knew it would be hard to find parking, I'd be like, I don't need it.
Matt
Yeah, that's.
Zane
Yeah.
Unknown
Like, I wouldn't go to that shopping center to just to have, like, a breakfast.
Matt
I miss me a parking lot. I get excited about parking lot. You don't have them? Rarely. There are some here and there, but it's always a shopping center.
Unknown
I love strip malls so much.
Matt
Yeah.
Zane
Can park anywhere.
Matt
Oh, just a big old parking lot, man.
Unknown
Give me. Give me a Tilly's next to a five Below. Next to, like, a.
Mariah
A Pet Smart and an Ulta together.
Unknown
Party City.
Matt
A tj. You got a TJ Maxx? Maybe a Michaels. A bit of a Best Buy just to go walk around and look.
Mariah
Are they all the same? Same.
Zane
But you know what I hate more than no parking? Parking garages. I hate parking. Whenever I drive by and I'm like, oh, that's where I gotta go. Parking garage. Nope, I'm good.
Matt
And they give me, like, a damn math problem figuring out. It's like, first hour's free, but every 30 minutes, it's like 50 bucks. Like, you're like, what? Like, I'm stressed out and I got to get it validated. And then you check it out and it Goes well where?
Unknown
Or you forget to do the validation. You get in your car, you're like, I'm not getting back out to go back to the restaurant to walk in and be like, can you stamp this?
Matt
Oh. And it's stressful when that. And that machine ain't working and there's a whole line of cars behind you and you're clicking help. And you're like, is there anyone nearby?
Zane
50% of the time, why is it always broken? That's why we had to run through it that one time. Remember we committed a crime. That was crazy. That was honestly one of the funniest story.
Mariah
I tell that story a lot. That was probably the baddest thing I've ever done.
Zane
I need to tell that story more often because I do. Forget it. Such a funny moment.
Mariah
What also baffles me was when you finally have a regular parking lot and they freaking throw the arm down and you're like, on the same grounds.
Unknown
Yeah.
Mariah
You're not changing levels. I'm not at a mall. You're just trying to get to the grocery store and you gotta pay for parking.
Unknown
Wait, wait.
Zane
Oh, you're talking about like same level parking at a, at a store.
Mariah
A parking. Why am I pulling a ticket?
Zane
Oh, yeah, you're.
Mariah
You're still on the street.
Matt
Why?
Mariah
Like it. Does that make sense?
Zane
That whole air one party lot makes no sense to me. Just let people park. It's.
Mariah
I swear, people just put a pop up, like pay thing here. Like, even by our old house we have just like little restaurants, grocery stores, like craft stores. And it's just a regular parking lot. But there's this little booth and this guy comes out once in a while, like 10 bucks.
Zane
Oh, he's like, sometimes too. It's like, are you supposed to be here charging people?
Matt
I need to see some qualifications.
Unknown
Let me see the credentials.
Zane
Next time I'm going to do that just to fuck it. Let me see all your fucking credential. How do we not. How do we know that you're not fucking just stealing people? Let me just throw on a culture and just.
Mariah
Yeah, like, paying for parking is an insane concept.
Unknown
It is everywhere.
Mariah
You're already in your car, on the ground, on the earth. I don't understand what I'm paying to stop for a little bit. I don't get it.
Zane
In Florida, I love like going to a mall. You knew you're going to be parked inside and out. Grab something out in. In five minutes. So easy. So easy.
Mariah
Going home is such like a culture shock because you don't have to pay for anything. Anything.
Unknown
Street parking's free.
Mariah
Everything's free.
Zane
It's like that in Texas too, right? Like it's just.
Matt
Oh yeah, yeah, right. You can park anywhere. I do hate a parking garage. That's almost like a fucking optical illusion where you can't find the level. And you're like, I know I parked on the grove, but you go on and you're like, I could see my car, but I can't even get to. Let me get through this fucking wire like.
Mariah
And you can hear it the whole time. Those need to be studied. Make a Netflix documentary on those. Damn parking lot.
Zane
It's a fun house.
Mariah
It's too much. Cuz you're. Cuz you're watching it the whole time.
Zane
The whole time.
Mariah
And then there's a wall that you pass and it's go Van.
Matt
The person who designed that is architectural school M. Look at this.
Heath
Oh this.
Unknown
This gonna go up.
Matt
You can go down. It's like a Mc Escher painting. It's just like what the.
Mariah
Like first 30 minutes is free, but then you're like looking for your Damn.
Zane
Car for 20 minutes.
Unknown
Uhuh.
Matt
Yeah. And then they go. It's going to take them a while to look. You know, the more they're looking, the more money we make it crazy. Am I right guys?
Mariah
What the hell is that about?
Unknown
Yeah, those parking garages make so much money.
Matt
Oh yeah. Get the parking. We don't need to. No ac. You don't got to worry about ac.
Unknown
Nothing.
Matt
Hardly any electricity.
Zane
It is crazy.
Matt
You just make bank for people to park.
Zane
Just don't be in there when our earthquake happens. That's all. That's all. That's all you got to do.
Matt
Oh man.
Zane
And by the way, I want to go back to the Eran parking. The in Arowan is so goddamn expensive. It should be a part of the price you're paying when you buy something from ERA that it's paying for your park.
Matt
But they're like, they can afford it. What is it to them?
Mariah
We know our demographic.
Matt
They could already pay.
Mariah
Put the barricade down.
Zane
You bought $40. Like Erewhon M&M's. You go to your car and you're paying $15 to leave.
Matt
What the fuck?
Unknown
Erewhon is the craziest thing to me. And it's so strange how successful it is. You like you. First of all, you started a grocery chain in the middle of like already all the existing grocery chains.
Matt
Yeah.
Unknown
And you did it at a price point above what groceries normally Cost groceries are already so expensive. And they were. Their thought process was, let's make it even more.
Matt
Yeah.
Unknown
Because people will do it, and it's insane to me.
Zane
And we're going to put it in places where, like, people that have money live and we want to separate them. That's how they do it. Like, that's when they, like, make these stores or make these high end places. They're trying to separate people, but it works, which is crazy.
Mariah
The celebrity smoothies in, they know what they're doing.
Unknown
What a crazy concept.
Zane
Like, why does it work? It's so stupid.
Matt
People are hungry for identity and they want it.
Unknown
They want to be seen.
Zane
I feel nothing walking in that. God. But you know what I feel? I feel like turn sideways to go to the aisle.
Matt
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
Mariah
This weekend after thrifting, Heath and I were like, should we go into Air1? Like, we were feeling.
Unknown
There was one right next to the. We were at, like, a thrift store. The consignment shop.
Mariah
Zane. We walked in. We were, like, smiling. We're both looking. We start looking at each other and we both have a panic attack.
Matt
Yeah.
Mariah
We're like, all right, that's a wrap.
Unknown
It was so bad.
Mariah
We didn't get one thing.
Matt
Because you don't recognize any of the products.
Zane
You're like.
Matt
You'Re picking up something. Like, I think this looks good, but what is this?
Zane
Let me see the tusitos. God damn it. I want Eminem.
Mariah
It looks like you're on a set because all the labels are facing you and you're like, okay, all right, all right.
Zane
Don't get me started on when you're in, like, the jar section.
Unknown
Yes.
Mariah
I don't think we got that far. I can't even. I'm like, putting on my glasses.
Unknown
The music was bumping, too.
Matt
It was a club.
Unknown
It was hopping in that spot.
Mariah
The line for the hot bar and every. It's like they're paying these people to show up and stand there and look good. Everyone's in activewear, Matching sweats.
Zane
They look good.
Mariah
Sports bra, aloe. Like, everybody is in active. It's like I felt out of shape.
Zane
And there's a ton of people working in there too. I feel like it's just your first.
Matt
Time and you have questions. What they've, like, cooked. They're like, they all stop and, like, look at you. Like, oh, it's this first.
Zane
Wait, wait.
Matt
When they ask one question, does this look good? But does this have this said? Like, the cookers are like this for. It's Cuz they're like formal chefs. Like, they've whipped this up, and you're like, is this. Does this have goat cheese in it? And they're like.
Mariah
It's like the demographic woke up and just knew how to operate Air1. Like, they're walking in so confident.
Zane
But the food in there is good, though. They do.
Unknown
The food is very good.
Zane
Good job.
Unknown
It is.
Matt
Yeah.
Zane
But, man, you are paying a pretty penny for that food.
Unknown
A little side of chicken tenders, 75 bucks. Okay.
Mariah
Milk, $19.99 a gallon of milk.
Unknown
I heard those smoothies are 20 bucks.
Zane
Not good for you.
Unknown
Really?
Zane
Yeah, like the.
Mariah
Like, those, like, they're putting freaking, like, bumblebees in it.
Unknown
Ground up bumblebees.
Matt
It's good for you. Get some pollen in.
Mariah
It's crazy. What's in there. It's like for your seafood.
Zane
Take it out. You put your spoon in, you put. It's a whole honeycomb just coming out the bubble. It's like bumblebee cereal.
Mariah
Concrete and dirt.
Zane
Yeah, it's good for you. Good for you, though. Yeah, right?
Matt
Do they run the smoothies by, like, the celebs who have them? Like, are they like. I think they're on a zoom call. They're just like, we're thinking we're going to add this and this. What do we think? And they're like, yeah, sure. Or do they have just, like, a bunch of stuff they're whipping up?
Zane
Like, I want to see, like, hey, I want to see a paparazzi shot of, like, Haley be grabbing a smoothie. She does, like, a campaign, right? And she, like, goes back into the.
Matt
Car, she's just like, yeah, it just chunks it.
Zane
God, that's good. That's. That's what I want to see. That type of. Did you try Emma Chamberlain? Emma Chamberlain. I can't believe she has.
Unknown
No, I saw, I saw. She has, like.
Heath

Zane
Is it ice cream Matcha Ice cream shake?
Unknown
Yeah, it looks really good.
Zane
Ooh, we should get something in there.
Mariah
Oh, I could see. I could see a Zane and Heath in like, one's blue, one's red.
Zane
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Mariah
And they're swirled.
Unknown
Yeah, it's icy blue razz. I love it.
Matt
Changes your tongue.
Zane
But the whole. The whole deal with Erewhon is that we actually have to put the upfront cost.
Unknown
Yeah.
Mariah
Zane, your drink is just milk.
Unknown
It's a glass of condensed milk. That's it. It's a shot. Just like a little.
Zane
All right, boy cells have come in.
Mariah
Zayn and Heath are good. Good names, though. Like, they.
Unknown
Yeah, let me get the Zane.
Mariah
Let me get the Zane and Heath.
Zane
I think we get.
Matt
Let's.
Zane
Let's talk to them.
Matt
Have there been any guys yet? I feel like it's been mostly females. Like, is there a Bryce hall.
Zane
Protein pump?
Matt
A Logan Paul?
Mariah
It's like really orange.
Unknown
Like, weirdly orange.
Zane
I'm just waiting to see prime in Erewhon and then.
Unknown
Sure, I know.
Zane
And then I prime.
Mariah
Soft serve.
Zane
Yeah. Oh, it's not a bad idea.
Unknown
Sounds good.
Matt
Soft serve is when. Okay. Soft serve.
Zane
Yeah, it's from the machine. Use the swirls.
Matt
Are you good? If you go up to a soft serve, are you nailing it? Are you like.
Unknown
Yes.
Zane
Oh, I'm nailing it. Oh, I'm good. I'm a fatty. Yeah, no, that's. I know what I'm doing.
Unknown
You gotta get.
Matt
You know how to do that really well. You're. You look at people in line going, they think you work there.
Zane
I'm really. No, I'm good with that stuff. Like, anything. Dessert. Like, I can make a cake. I can make it look pretty.
Matt
I just got to go like enough in and then I go. And then I just munch on the rest.
Zane
But I want to see like a. Like a gourmet Like a blizzard. What's that. What's that place called?
Matt
Dairy Queen.
Zane
Dairy Queen. Bring that shit back. But, like, make it better. You know what I mean?
Matt
Yeah.
Unknown
So, like. Like, like, Van Lewins is a really good ice cream shop.
Zane
Yeah. Yeah.
Matt
I just had Van New York.
Zane
It's so good.
Matt
Yeah.
Zane
Ice cream.
Unknown
But, like, I want the fun aspect of being like, I'll do KitKat Bits.
Zane
Yeah.
Unknown
Chocolate Spring.
Zane
Bring that back.
Mariah
Cold stone.
Unknown
The Chipotle.
Zane
I think Colton is like, what. I would be the most gourmet.
Mariah
Yeah.
Zane
Style to still have that Salt and straw.
Matt
Last night had goat. Their flavors are too much goat cheese. Habanero. Something else in it. And I was like. I was like, okay. I'm like, who is getting Van lemons?
Zane
Once did like, a fries and shake. Tasted a mess.
Unknown
Yeah. I'll do the miso black cod, soft serve.
Matt
The hint of cuttlefish.
Zane
It is crazy. People are buying that. People are like, I'll have the. The olives and cheese ice cream. Like, what? Like, what's in there? Like, taste buds. That's like, oh, what am I feeling?
Matt
I'm just having a. I don't know. That's.
Zane
You know what that is? Like, you take an ambient, and that's some. That you eat after popping an ambient salt sandwich.
Matt
All of that. Yeah.
Unknown
It's just crazy that I would never choose, like, an obscure flavor like that over a chocolate.
Matt
You just finished having dinner. Something that tastes just like the dinner I ate.
Zane
I could see Mariah eating that, though. Like an olive.
Mariah
That's why I'm silent.
Zane
Like a charcuterie. Like, oh, forget it.
Mariah
I've chosen olive oil. I've chosen rosemary, basil.
Zane
For what?
Unknown
Ice cream flavors.
Matt
I kind of get behind a basil. I don't know. I could. I think olive oil.
Mariah
It's really refreshing.
Matt
I would eat it for free if someone was like. But I don't like doing sample. I get sample anxiety because there's a line, and I think there's like. And there's a line. You cross two samples. Most two samples, and you got to make a decision.
Zane
That's what I love.
Matt
The green one. What's the green one? Piss off, Matt.
Zane
That's what I like about you. I like that you are so quick when you know there's a line. You're very good at that. Very. Just even with me, when we're at a restaurant and I take a second longer than I should eat, Matt just immediately gives me the eye, and I'm.
Matt
Like, the dish is made. Somebody worked their ass off to figure out the dish. If there's. If there's an allergy, remove it. But like.
Unknown
Right, right, right.
Matt
You're like, what's.
Mariah
Yeah, Zone has a question.
Matt
But what's it like?
Mariah
How many ounces is the salad? They're like, no, no.
Zane
Okay. This was when I was doing the transformation. I always wanted 6 to 8 ounces, I don't think.
Mariah
Yeah, but then don't go to a restaurant.
Matt
Bring your. Bring your food scale then. And just.
Zane
And I did.
Mariah
I saw this one girl, she was maybe like 16 at the bagel shop and she was with her friends and I felt so bad because she was clearly. It was clearly her first time probably ordering. Like. I don't know. Yeah. Like it seemed like ever. It seemed like her mom gave her money. She went up to the counter. She was all nervous. She was like rehearsing what she wanted. And she went up and she goes, can I do the locks Bagel sandwich? Is it possible to do no locks? And instead of the cream cheese avocado. And the guy was like, oh, so it's. I felt bad cuz her friends were like heckling her, but not to her face. They were kind of whispering it and I was like, it's okay, it's okay.
Unknown
But like that, like that. That is something you would let me do. The locks bagel. No locks. Sub the cream cheese or like the hot.
Zane
Like the. The Holland.
Unknown
Like egg Hollandaise.
Zane
Yeah, Hollandaise sauce. Lose the hollandaise sauce. And they're like, why are you getting that?
Unknown
Then I see you want an English egg then.
Zane
But I don't make it too difficult. I usually just ask to remove things.
Unknown
Yeah, that was. That's a crazy.
Matt
How do you poach an egg?
Unknown
Water.
Zane
I think it's the hardest way to make it great.
Unknown
You crack the egg into the water.
Matt
But do you have like a little catcher to like? You make sure it has a bit of shape because it just.
Mariah
So you start. That's what I do. I start stirring the water like a whirlpool.
Matt
Okay.
Mariah
When you crack it, it starts going with the motions and then it balls up.
Unknown
It stays together pretty well.
Matt
Fascinating.
Zane
I'm having anxiety. Can I save myself real quick? What I do tip well. You do. That's an. I needed to. I needed to save myself something for.
Unknown
Like the restaurant industry.
Zane
You needed to save any waiters listening? Any waitresses, any hostesses?
Mariah
We always. Zane, we always talk about tipping. We're good.
Heath

Matt
It's basically about. October is happening, man. Are you going to any haunted houses?
Zane
No, No, I. I've been like less and less inclined to do like holiday stuff every year.
Matt
Yeah, I don't know why.
Zane
Because it doesn't feel like spooky season.
Matt
You should put a little. Get some pumpkins out. Maybe that's why scary movies. But yeah, I, I wish I could go do like haunted houses. But out here, just like Hollywood, the.
Zane
Halloween horror nights, that's.
Matt
It's such a hassle to do that. It's a huge commitment. But I just was there.
Mariah
Pay for parking.
Matt
Yeah, no, I just. We're just going back. It's too much of an operation.
Zane
But you know what I do miss, like driving around the neighborhoods and seeing like everybody out trick or treating. Like, I, I just don't see that.
Mariah
That's why we love to look away because it really got us in the spirit.
Zane
Yeah, every.
Unknown
They go all out.
Mariah
It's like being at Universal. There's. You can't even drive on the streets. They might as well block them off because there's so many people. Everybody's coming from different areas just to like trick or treat there.
Unknown
We should go back this year for. For Halloween.
Matt
Oh, yeah.
Mariah
It's just so Fun to get in the spirit.
Zane
Yeah. It's because, like, I feel like even just in this area, you will never see anybody walking around trick or treating, even on Halloween night.
Unknown
Yeah. It's so sad.
Zane
I think just. It's just dangerous. Like, I could see that's why they.
Matt
Do trunk or treat, like at churches. Everyone, you know, part of the community.
Unknown
You know what that is?
Zane
No, no, I've actually never heard.
Unknown
So instead of like doing your house, you decorate. You decorate your car as like a Halloween theme.
Zane
Yeah.
Unknown
And you have all your candy in the trunk and you all pull into a parking lot and the kids just go from car to car.
Zane
Oh, easy peasy.
Matt
The parents are like, good, we can go. I know, but there's a certain age though. If I was like seven. Yeah.
Unknown
For like little kids.
Matt
This is not. Dude, I want to go house to house.
Zane
That's cute though. I like that.
Matt
Yeah.
Unknown
Still give out candy. Like, I remember when I worked at the mall, our store, we'd have trick or treaters that would come through.
Zane
Yes, yes, I remember that.
Unknown
I remember having a bucket and we'd give out candy at the front of Brookstone.
Matt
A bit of ac.
Zane
Because you would do. Because that's during the day. Because normally.
Matt
Yeah.
Unknown
You would have like a little. The cute, like little tiny little babies, like in like sunflower outfits.
Matt
I like.
Zane
You see, I like that. Safe. Yeah, that's safe. Like me, I just. I couldn't trust like my like just candies being put in my kids bags.
Matt
I know a lot of times parents will be like, you keep the. You take the candy and then you give them.
Zane
It's like kind of like the. Yeah, let them have fun. That's pretty much what they do.
Unknown
We should do that this year. We should put like thumbtacks and like snickers just.
Zane
And kind of put air tags in each one and see where it goes and then experiment.
Unknown
I hear a lot about these like needles and thumbtacks and candy and stuff. Never seen it.
Matt
No, I know.
Zane
But I think there's been a few situations. But it like went by that way.
Unknown
We can have a new one. You know, it's such a crazy thing.
Zane
That like an adult is like, I'm gonna ruin somebody.
Unknown
Had that thought.
Zane
Yeah. It's really.
Matt
It's.
Unknown
That's so.
Zane
Even if it happen once and that one story went everywhere, like it just catches. Happened. That's cra. That's just nuts.
Matt
What is your favorite Halloween candy, though? It's fun on Halloween because you get a little.
Zane
Are you going to Let me answer it.
Matt
Oh, I was just had a little Kit Kat.
Unknown
A Kit Kat specific to Halloween. My favorite Halloween candy to get is Milky Way Midnights. But I would never buy a Milky Way midnight. I would never choose them. But on Halloween specifically, I pick those out first. And I'm like, this is the one.
Matt
That's what. That's the beauty of Halloween is you get exposed to candies you don't normally get to try, but you suddenly you're like, you know what? This kind of hits for me and Almond Joy. You'll never see me buying a fucking Almond Joy on Halloween. Only on Halloween. Give me that coconut.
Zane
You know, that's a great way to. If you like starting a candy business, like, I think the best time to.
Unknown
Release it is Halloween.
Zane
Halloween night. You give it to everybody coming to your house and you don't even tell them it's your brand. Just go, hey, here you go.
Matt
But then that's what the parents are like, I don't know about this. I don't recognize this.
Unknown
What is a moomoo bar? Like what? Another favorite is a $100,000 war. Only on Halloween, though, is it.
Matt
Wait, is it 100 grand or 100?
Unknown
Yeah, 100 grand.
Matt
Yeah.
Zane
Heath, you like nasty stuff.
Matt
You like old man?
Unknown
Dude, it's literally like. It's got like rice crispy. Oh, my God. Sucking your teeth so much.
Matt
Those kind of slap. I do. I like a six lit. I love a six lit. Yeah, cuz you bite that. Yeah. One and then we got more to go.
Zane
We come over there on right now.
Unknown
I love those also.
Matt
I wish. Nerds. Gummy clusters. Can we get those in a tiny little pack?
Zane
Yeah.
Matt
Oh, kids there.
Zane
It's too much.
Matt
It's too much.
Zane
It's way too much in the pack. I know. Mariah thinks it's a perfect amount. She'll eat the whole bag.
Matt
Have you had the spooky nerds gummy cluster?
Mariah
The orange bag.
Matt
Wait, they're a little bit more great. Grape. A little grape. Oh, okay. And it's that good kind of, you know, the. You know, the purple nerds.
Zane
Is the nerd rope the same thing as the clusters? Yeah, it's just rope form. Okay. Okay.
Matt
I hate the nerds rope because I've.
Zane
Never had the nerd rope. I don't know what that.
Matt
Oh, give me some nerds clusters at the airport. I am set. But once you pop them, you can't stop.
Mariah
Is this the probably the newest candy.
Zane
That'S been out Nerds clusters?
Matt
Yeah, I think it's one that's here to stay. Yeah, it's definitely one that's at every airport. Like, if it's on the airport wall, it's yours. It's.
Zane
And you know what it reminds me of, which I think, like, I find fascinating. And it like brings me back to. It reminds me. The willow Willy Wonka candies in the movie. Remember when it was coming out the gobs? Yes. Like, every time I pull it, it just reminds me of Willy Wonka. And I think that's like. I think it's really cool.
Unknown
Good looking candy.
Zane
Yes, it's a beautiful candy. Like, it's such a.
Matt
But one Willy Wonka candy. They never did. That was in the. The video is the one where it's like eight meals in one. Like that one course meal. No, the. The gobstopper that is in the movie. But the one that Violet eats where they're like, Violet, you're. She's like roast beef and mashed potato.
Zane
It's impossible.
Matt
I mean. Yeah.
Zane
I mean, you can get those.
Unknown
Yeah. Why didn't they also make the one. The. The fizzy lifting drink where you.
Zane
They should make you soul.
Matt
Fizzy lifting drinks. You bumped into the ceiling when now has to be washed and sterilized so you get nothing.
Zane
You said it in the same cadence. Very good. You was awesome.
Matt
Fizzy lifting drink.
Zane
They should make like a horror movie of that movie.
Matt
Just like, they just kind of was scary. The Tim Burton one. I don't know.
Zane
Just like they did with Winnie the Pooh. Did you see the new horror movie Winnie the Pooh?
Unknown
They did, yes.
Matt
Yes, there is.
Zane
Like, why.
Matt
I think it's even the second one too.
Zane
The second one?
Matt
Yeah.
Zane
My God.
Unknown
Are they allowed to do that? Is it like, made by the.
Matt
I think Winnie Poo is so old where it's like. I think it's creative licensing.
Unknown
That's the name of the Blood and Honey.
Zane
Imagine like a. Like a place where you get like stem cells and you get like holistic stuff. Like, okay, Blood and Blood and Honey. I don't know. That sounds like a really high end place.
Matt
I'd spend my money at Blood and Honey. I mean, that's like a flavor of things, right?
Zane
A flavor of things like Blood and Honey.
Matt
I've had a. I've had a beer that's called like Blood and Honey before.
Zane
Damn it.
Matt
It's like blood so close. It's like blood orange, but with like honey kind of stuff. Okay. Flavorful.
Zane
You got to help me out with my costume. I know you come up with the good Ones. I have nothing.
Matt
Thank you.
Mariah
I got a list up for everybody.
Zane
Oh, really? Thank you. Please. I literally pay you for something because I have nothing.
Matt
Your ape Lincoln was ahead. Yeah.
Unknown
Yeah, it was.
Matt
That was.
Zane
It really was a hit. I as you. Everybody was raving when I was at that party. Every.
Unknown
It was good.
Matt
Yeah.
Mariah
They were all like, do a trick.
Matt
Do a trick.
Mariah
I'm not a magician.
Zane
Oh, that was definitely the most respected costume I've ever like. Yeah, worn like, the respect I was receiving was crazy.
Mariah
I mean, you freed the slaves.
Zane
You know what? You know what? Okay, I take that.
Heath

Matt
Speaking of something spooky or spooky related, do you remember the peeping tom that we had? Yeah.
Zane
Yes. Oh, there's an update.
Matt
Well, Patricia and I were at the airport at the baggage claim, and this girl comes up to us and is like, matt, Patricia. They go, yeah. She goes, y'all, the peeping Tom, like, right in, like, what's Hollywood? We're like, yes. She goes, I was the other girl in the news segment.
Zane
Oh, my God.
Unknown
No way.
Mariah
How'd she know you if it was just the ring?
Matt
Because she was a girl who was, like, in the actual, like, news. News coverage, and she saw. She goes, I saw the ring cam and I saw the tick tock and, like, the story of us talking about the podcast. So she knew, like, about us, and we ran into her and we just, like, swap stories and all.
Zane
It's so funny how many people posted that clip and, like, as a normal tick tock, like, laughing at it, and it, like, went viral. But it was like, your guys's voice. It was a crazy, like, thing to interview.
Matt
It was funny. Like, I was like, that footage is gonna be out there. But I didn't think people would, like, find it that funn.
Zane
Yeah. That was, like, the first time I've ever seen anything like that, like, an interview through.
Matt
But, yeah, we ran into the other girl, like, who had the whole story.
Zane
That was so interesting.
Matt
Pretty crazy. Yeah.
Unknown
Wow.
Matt
The same flight. It was bizarre.
Unknown
Really bizarre.
Zane
But her face wasn't. Was her face in it?
Matt
I think hers was in it. I. Well, I think. Actually, no, I think it was, like, kind of like her neck and they, like, covered up her face. I could tell, like, what she looked like and. Yeah, I think that's right.
Zane
Just a whole meet and greet at the airport. I was like, who is that? It's like, those are the people from the rent.
Unknown
They have on.
Matt
Like, if you heard that, you'd be like, what are these people talking. Talking about?
Mariah
I have a fun little topic.
Unknown
Get it, bubba?
Mariah
I was talking about this in the car. I don't know how fun this conversation could be because we can't really say our own examples. But I was just thinking about how fun it is to know people's passwords for things and the story behind it.
Matt
Yes.
Mariah
Interesting.
Zane
Okay.
Mariah
I wish I could say my password because. Because it's so.
Unknown
Everybody has their own funny, weird story of their password and why it's their passion.
Matt
Yeah. I was just with Patricia the other day, and there was, like. We came across something, and I go, actually, that is, like, the password, like, I use on, like, a lot of stuff. And she was like, oh, okay. But it was. But I wish I could say, like, this what it was that I saw.
Mariah
I have a friend who. Her parents. They bonded over popcorn, like, 30 years ago when they met. And their password has always been popcorn.
Matt
Brilliant.
Mariah
Like, actually, I just.
Matt
One. That is just like that. That is so obscure. It was something that I saw one time. It's like a random thing.
Mariah
Yeah.
Matt
And it just. And I go, that's gonna be.
Zane
I can honestly. I can honestly say mine, but it's just. I. It's impossible for you to find it. Like, what do you.
Matt
What do you mean? I wouldn't even risk it because people can, like, fish an account and use it.
Zane
Really? Oh, my God. I just feel like it's really hard to, like, find because it. Because school, like, school IDs from, like, preschool school. Can you even. Can you even find that? Because, like, I don't think they still have that in the system.
Matt
I still remember it was like.
Zane
It was like my 15 code, like, preschool number.
Unknown
That's so funny.
Mariah
Oh, my God.
Matt
Whoa. Yeah.
Zane
And I've used. I've used it for, like, all my Life. But like it's so hard to remember.
Mariah
That's so cool. I love the back stories. Especially like they're like funny.
Unknown
The number you would type in for like your lunch.
Zane
It was something like that, but it was a long time. Like I'm surprised they even gave us little kids that big of a. Oh, I've used.
Matt
I've used friends phone numbers that I know don't work, like landline numbers as passwords sometimes.
Zane
Oh wait, that's really smart.
Mariah
Yeah.
Matt
Because I'm like, it's a non existent number. It's never connected to me. It's somebody else's number. But I'm using it for just one thing.
Unknown
Mine was. I was resetting like something like, I don't remember why, but I needed to reset my email password or whatever. And I was standing there and I was just trying to think of something and I just looked around and the first thing I saw is just what I made the password.
Matt
Oh yeah? Yeah.
Unknown
And it just stuck. And it's been like that for seven years now.
Mariah
Oh, I like, I talked to my cousins about their passwords and they're. And every. Almost everybody's like family related. It's just so funny.
Matt
I gotta do that with like my cousins and stuff because I bet it's a safe space with all that. It's just hard to.
Mariah
So funny peoples are just inside jokes from like 20 years ago. And you just have different forms of it because now you have to add like a symbol and like lowercase.
Zane
There was a good amount of time for maybe like a couple years where I. My password was like a date. It was 1-0607 and it was the date that I made the password and.
Unknown
Oh really?
Zane
And I put that as like it was my password for a long time. Another password that I had which I got hacked. So that was when everything was hacked and it was like as I should. It was like my, my dad's name. That's it.
Matt
It's easy. If people do a little bit of search and they can figure is there.
Zane
Is there some sort of cis like what? Because I know it's. I know they're not typing. They're typing different forms of like. Don't they put like all your information on something and it just like generates.
Matt
Facebook and stuff and they can look through all your statuses and just keep trying things over and over and over and over.
Zane
Isn't it like a system though? They're not like typing it. It's like a automated thing, right?
Matt
Fully automated.
Zane
That's so interesting.
Matt
Wow. Yeah.
Zane
Yeah. That's. Why.
Matt
Have you ever guessed somebody's password? Like, you've been, like, in a bind, and you just.
Mariah
My mom's book.
Matt
Oh. Patricia and I, we were at a hotel, and we got the. What was it? Oh, actually, we didn't really guess it, but we got the hotel key. We went all the way up, and it's Vegas, you know, Gotta go all the way up to, like, the floor. And we did it, and it didn't work. And I go. I was pissed because I was like, gosh, now we got to go all the way back down in the lobby. And I just went, wait a second. I just went to the door right next. And I went, boop. And it worked.
Mariah
They gave you the wrong room.
Matt
Gave us the wrong room. But thank goodness. This. In that one moment, I go, let's just give this a shot.
Zane
I would have never thought. It was like, that's crazy.
Matt
So, like, Patricia, how did you know that? And I was like, I don't know. I just wanted to test my options.
Zane
Intuition. Very good, man. Put your ass in a CIA movie.
Matt
Then we were worried. We. Then we were worried because we're like, we should probably go down. Yeah.
Mariah
Yeah.
Matt
Because someone's gonna get assigned the wrong room or they're gonna charge us for that. We never checked out. I don't know. It was.
Zane
That's something. I always roll my eyes at one. One scene every time whenever I watch a movie. And they're, like, trying to figure out the password. They're like, and. And they get it right like the first time I roll immediately. It doesn't matter how big budget the movie is. Just like, come on, let's be a little bit like, I want you to hook it in. Go on your computer.
Unknown
Try to, like, let it sit overnight and run different combinations.
Zane
I don't know.
Matt
Yeah, it's like, oh, what was Dad's favorite thing? It was his. It was his car. It was his motorcycle. It was. It was me.
Zane
And it was.
Matt
It was.
Mariah
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Matt
Like, access granted.
Zane
And it's like. It's a villain's pass trying to, like, blow up planet Earth. And it's like. You figured out the password.
Matt
Yeah.
Zane
Come on.
Unknown
The only thing that scares me is a lot of accounts. You'll make, like, your password or whatever, and then it makes you do the. The three question security question thing. And it's all stuff you can Google about, and it's like, mother's maiden name.
Matt
I'm like, what was your elementary school?
Unknown
Anybody can find this information out Those questions are really.
Matt
That's the worst with boomers now. They act like little Tumblr teenagers, where they're just like, where was your first job? Oh, it was at Dairy Queen. And they're answering, what color? What is your favorite color? They're like, aqua blue. Like, they go, what's your favorite ice cream flavor? They're answering all the fucking secrets. You give it all away. You give it all away.
Mariah
That episode of the Office where they're trying to figure out, I think it was Michael's password. And they're all trying to figure it out, but they're like, what year did he make the password? Okay, Lord of the Rings was big. Try this. Try. Like, they were really thinking. They were like, try big boobs. And he, like, was typing it in. She goes, are you really typing that? He goes, we gotta try everything. And they were like, try big boobs with a Z. And it, like, got so good.
Unknown
So, so good.
Zane
It's very Pimp Z69@MySpace.com.
Mariah
I wonder what your password was for that.
Zane
I think it was, like, pizza face something, because that's what. Pizza face something. Yeah, that's what I was, like, called. So I was like, you know, I'm gonna. I'm gonna take. Take what people use to make me feel bad. I'm.
Unknown
Mm.
Matt
I had a magician one time guess one of my passwords straight.
Unknown
No way.
Matt
And I'm. Sometimes I'm convinced that Mike told him about it, because it was one of Mike's friends, and he just really wanted to wow me. But still, to this day, Mike is like, I didn't know. And I'm like, how?
Zane
It's like, they must have talked to somebody before because there's just no way the password one.
Matt
I was the most freaked out I'd ever been. But I Sometimes, deep down, at the end of the day, I think Mike told him. Patricia and I, we were just with the magician in New York. We got, like, invited to go the Fly Fish Club, which is, like, Gary Vaynerchuk's new social lounge. And they had, like, a. We got tight.
Unknown
Me thinking he went fly fishing. That's so cool.
Matt
We have to meet the chap. We're with Gary. There was a magician. He's doing tricks on us. Gets Patricia to. He guesses her oldest, like, childhood, like, dog, like, writes it down on a piece of paper, already has it down on a piece of paper. And he's like, oh, was it a. It was a lab. It was. No, it wasn't a lab. It was actually like, it was a lab. It was like a black lab. And like, I'm getting an R. He goes, what's Matt's middle name? Or like, it's R. R. Okay, so we've get an R, blah, blah, blah. And she's like, yes, yes. And she goes, okay, now I want you to say it. And Matt, you pick this up. And I had it. And it was. She was like, rascal. And it was a rascal.
Zane
Did she write it down?
Matt
She never wrote it down.
Zane
Oh, she was just thinking it.
Matt
She was just thinking it.
Zane
Wow.
Matt
He was able to be a mentalist and get it out of her.
Zane
It's kind of like your guy that you're saying, believable.
Mariah
That's really cool, right?
Zane
The guy that you're saying that was at your Thanksgiving.
Unknown
He wasn't really a mentalist. He was more of just, like, medium.
Zane
Oh.
Unknown
Getting, like, people talking to him. But that's. Mentalists are insane.
Matt
Oh. And then he had one where he was like, I want you to scroll through everyone in your phone. Pick a random name. Okay, now do you know this person? Like, it was a person from college. I haven't, like, talked to them in 10 years. Okay, what's. And he's like, writing it down on his thing. Goes. I'm getting like, an A. This. Okay, now dd. Like, it's like, Angelica. Angelica Davis. And I'm like, what the fuck? How did you.
Zane
That's insane.
Matt
I couldn't.
Zane
And I'm just like. Then rob a bank.
Matt
Yeah.
Zane
You know, if you're so good, what are you doing? Why are you wasting your time here?
Matt
Some tricks. I think there are some tricks, but I don't like poking holes in it. But it was very like.
Zane
But, like, I want to see you, like, rob a bit. Like, do something that's gonna really wow me.
Matt
You know, maybe. I bet they could do it, but. But they would lose their magic license.
Unknown
Did you see those hackers that just stole, like, $260 million?
Zane
No. I don't know. Is it?
Unknown
It was like these, like, group of hackers that got access to 260 million, $250 million or something worth of cryptocurrency. They did, like, the hack where you could go into somebody's screen and, like, watch them put their password in, and.
Matt
You would just get their wallet number.
Unknown
And you have access to, like, everything. They wired all the money. They did this while live streaming, though.
Matt
What?
Unknown
And we're, like, celebrating and, like, going crazy, like, bragging about the whole thing and ended up getting caught because they were like, we're just.
Zane
Why the stupid live streaming it? Oh, did they not think it was gonna work?
Matt
Work?
Unknown
I don't know.
Zane
I can see me live streaming thinking it's not gonna work.
Matt
And then it works like, I'm so sorry, give it back. My bad.
Unknown
Whoops.
Matt
Oopsie.
Zane
That's crazy that they live streamed it.
Unknown
So stupid.
Mariah
Have you guys seen the AI video of, like, this is just an example, but it's one that's going viral. It's like a baby cow the size of someone's hand. But it's clearly AI.
Matt
Yeah.
Mariah
And all the comments of the boomers.
Unknown
No, they believe it.
Matt
Unbelievable. This is just God. God's own creatures.
Mariah
Where can I get one?
Matt
Oh, yeah.
Mariah
Oh, my wife would die. Where can I get one?
Zane
Or the opposite. Or they're just like, we're doomed. Yeah, we are doomed.
Matt
Or they made like this insane. They're clothing sculpture out of tin cans. This little boy in the third world country.
Zane
Oh, my. Oh, my God.
Unknown
It's literally the size of the thumb. There's no way people.
Matt
That would be kind of cool.
Heath

Did you see. I just saw this on my. Did you see the AI page? I think it's on Twitter or TikTok. I don't know. But if you send the page a picture, any picture, like in any. From anywhere, it the. The AI will go through every single camera and it'll be able to send you recorded footage of when you took that picture. Like, you see the person walking and then getting the picture done from, like, cameras are all over, like open cameras, and they have a whole page where someone will send their picture and then they reply back.
Matt
But it's AI generated.
Zane
I don't know if the page is AI generated or if the person's Using something and then, like, a human is posting it. You know what I mean?
Matt
I would just love to find, like, every photo that's been taken of me, but I've been in the background of, like, somebody's photo. Yeah. Or just, like, all, like, I want.
Mariah
To know if I'm hanging in someone's house in the background, like, on the beach.
Zane
Yeah.
Matt
I love those stories where it was, like, this couple that's married.
Unknown
Yes.
Matt
They were at Disney World at the same time as a kid. As kids, sitting in the background of someone's shots that I would love to see if, like, you kicked. Can permit access with somebody else and see if we ever cross paths in our entire photo.
Zane
I see. That makes my hairs go up. It's so crazy seeing, like, what are the odds?
Matt
What are the odds? My friend Arden. Arden. Arden Rose. Will Darby. Sure. They're both of their parents were in town. We're hanging out with their parents all in the backyard. Arden's from Arkansas, and I always loved Arden's name. And I'm with her mom, and I'm like, I, you've named your daughter a great name. How did you come up with the name? Architecture. And she goes, oh, that's so funny. You know, Jet, Arden's dad, he was a grad student at smu, and he had this great academic advisor who we just loved. She was this lovely woman, and her name was Arden. I'm going to hide the last name just out of privacy.
Zane
Say Wilkinson.
Matt
Wilkinson. Okay. There was this lovely academic advisor, Arden Wilkinson. We loved her. She was awesome, and we just. I was just always inspired just to name Arden from that name. And, yeah. It's just. That's how he got it. And in my head, I'm like, an academic advisor at SMU with the last name Wilkinson. I know a girl who went to Highland park, which is a high school that's right there in the SMU area, with the last name Wilkinson. Once again, guys, Wilkinson. Changing the last name. I go, what are the odds that, like, I. That girl is related to that woman? I go on Facebook, find my friend with the last name Wilkinson, and I type in Arden Wilkins. And sure enough, this lady shows up that she's mutual friends with. And I'm showing Arden's mom. She's like, oh, my God. How did you find them? Like, just Facebook. But I know a girl who I think is connected to this woman. She's like, oh, my gosh. Go up and show Jet. I'm showing Jet, like, the picture. I go, do you know who she Goes like, go up and show Jet, but don't say who it is. And I'm like, do you know who this is? And Jet's like, oh, my God. Is that. Is that Arden Wilkinson? And so I didn't reach out to my friend. I go, hey, no, we haven't talked in, like, 15, 20 years or whatever.
Zane
I'm surprised you go that far. Me, I be like, I know somebody, and then I leave it.
Mariah
Like, you have no idea. Matt's hat says J. Press. My cousin's name is Jordan Press. I couldn't wait to bring it up. I was gonna.
Matt
I was gonna ask, but this is also. This is me after, like, this is also my brain. 6. After six glasses of wine, I'm just, like, sober. I mean, but I was just like, hey, what's.
Unknown
I'm just curious.
Matt
And so then I reach out to this girl finally, and I go, hey, I noticed you're related to this other artist, Arden. Do you. What's the connection here? She goes, that's my grandmother.
Mariah
And I. Oh, my God.
Matt
Little did I. And.
Mariah
And so I tell, you know who Arden's named after?
Matt
A friend I've had out here for now 10 years.
Mariah
I'm so done.
Zane
That's crazy.
Matt
Her name is named after a friend I know from back in Dallas's grandmother.
Zane
So that's insane.
Matt
Insane. Sil. Weird. Silver string. But, I mean, it's just. Yeah, she just said that last name. Once again, wasn't Wilkinson something very.
Zane
Yeah.
Matt
Specific. But I was just like. The only other person who I know has that last name is somebody who lives in that area right near that university. Just give it a shot. Crazy.
Zane
Crazy.
Mariah
That's why it's fun to ask questions and dig, because literally, everybody.
Unknown
You'll find the connection.
Mariah
So fun to find the connection.
Zane
Damn, Mariah.
Unknown
Anytime she goes to a bagel shop. And here's a New York accent.
Mariah
Where you from?
Unknown
What part?
Matt
What part?
Mariah
Where you from?
Zane
All right, so who's J. Press?
Matt
J. Press is a men's clothing store City.
Zane
What if your friend.
Mariah
My cousin.
Matt
Your cousin is related to J.
Zane
Press?
Mariah
I'll introduce you to him at the wedding.
Zane
Wow.
Unknown
I can't get over that story.
Matt
Yeah, it was. I so glad I went with my gut just to at least look it up, just to try. Could have, like, missed out on that one detail and just, like, put it to the wayside and just, like, totally forgotten about it, but I was like, what? That's. That's a very specific last name, and I'm so curious if that hits My.
Unknown
Favorite is similar to that, but guessing that somebody's related just by their looks.
Mariah
Oh, yes.
Zane
Like, oh, yeah.
Mariah
That was weird because that was a total strange.
Unknown
That was unbelievable. Just, like, seeing, like, somebody, like, you're like, they look like they would be related to this person.
Matt
Oh, yeah.
Unknown
We did it at a store that we went to. I was, like, talking to, like, one of the cashier guys, and I was looking at a dude in the background ground, and he looks just like somebody that we know. And I don't know how it got brought up, why, what happened, but it turned out to be this dude's brother.
Matt
Whoa. That.
Unknown
I was like, he looks just like that guy.
Mariah
But it's like, you told me. You were like, doesn't this. Doesn't that kid look like him? And I looked. I was like, yeah, he does. And then conversation started. You didn't bring it up because why would anybody know who we're talking?
Unknown
And this is, like, hours away. Like, it was.
Matt
Yeah. Insurance enough. Perfect match.
Mariah
He also has a crazy story where, like, they. I guess we could say, like, they're actually brothers, but they just found out they were brothers.
Unknown
Yeah.
Mariah
With the person we know.
Unknown
Oh, like, that whole story came from a separate. Oh, like a separate.
Zane
Did you know, though, before they knew?
Matt
No.
Zane
So it's almost like you knew. You had an inkling feeling before they found out that they were brother. That's crazy. That's a. That's a whole documentary. That's an episode.
Unknown
Like, the husband, like, went off in the marriage and had an affair and had this other son, and they were. Dude, I'm telling you, like, it was so weird how much they looked alike.
Matt
That's wild.
Zane
Imagine bumping into that person. Like, imagine they bumped each other at, like, a bar at a restaurant. You're just like, I'm sorry.
Unknown
It's like you're looking at yourself just.
Mariah
Like parent, tribe, brothers, Hal, twins.
Zane
I'm like that with people that have my name.
Matt
You're like.
Zane
No brothers. No, It's. It's crazy. I. I checked our id. I'm like, you have. I'll have like a hour and a half. An hour and a half conversation because I think that we're related in some way, that we have same first name. It's crazy.
Matt
Crazy, crazy. Oh, that. I knew a kid or I knew a person who had an adopted sibling, and one of the person's brother went to a private school, and the brother at the private school, there was a girl in his class that was. He always was like, you look just like my sister, his adopted sister and was like always would say it was crazy and he would come home and was like, mom, there's this girl at my school. She looks just like our adopted sister. Well, the mom looked into it because she was like, this might be true. Looked into it and turns out that the other girl was the adopted. Other adopted sister.
Mariah
Were they twins or just.
Matt
No, just like sisters. But they were both adopted and so they. She. Another family in the area had also adopted.
Zane
What are the rules with that? Again, you're not allowed to tell them until they're 18. If they're. I think they have like brothers and sisters.
Matt
I also think that the person, the, the mom I knew just decided didn't want to make the connection between them because it would have complicated because the child was so young too. And like, I think there comes traumatic.
Mariah
Like that's like a lot I know.
Matt
Yeah, it's a stage of like where the. I mean the girl was like five and like another five year old. And if you're telling that this five year old that they have this other like sibling can really complicate because all they're trying to get is attached.
Unknown
Yeah.
Matt
And like understand your house later on.
Mariah
Natural bond.
Matt
But it was a very like freak.
Zane
It doesn't matter what age. It could cause problems, right?
Matt
Yeah.
Zane
Doesn't matter what age they find out.
Matt
Yeah.
Mariah
It's heavy information.
Matt
It's just important because you have that.
Mariah
Like natural gravitation towards like.
Zane
Yeah.
Mariah
Your own family members.
Zane
I just watched that, that documentary through identical strangers. That one really hit me. I was like, that is absolutely insane. Imagine looking at the newspaper and seeing two people that look just like you. And headline is they found a brother has found each other. And you're the third one. You're looking at this crazy. Oh my God. Like I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about.
Unknown
Me looking so weird.
Zane
Crazy. What a crazy story.
Matt
Documentary.
Unknown
No, I know the whole story.
Zane
Oh my God. It's a wonderful documentary. Oh my God.
Matt
It's also sad. It gets.
Zane
It's really sad.
Matt
And it's a crazy reveal about why they were all separated. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Mariah
I swear. You like also, I feel like you gravitate and you get these instincts like talk to certain people and get to the bottom of things because there is a connection.
Unknown
Yeah.
Mariah
This one's not crazy at all. It's just another example. But like the other day my cousin was at the park and she just gravitated towards this other mom because they had like the same beliefs and things and they were just like chit chatting and it turns out they're cousins and they were just like, wait. Yeah, they like got. She sent me, like the whole story. I forget how they figured it out, but they realized that they were related.
Matt
So weird.
Mariah
Just so weird. Like the one mom she decides to talk to at the park part.
Unknown
I feel like it, like pulls you for a reason, though. Like, something about it just, like, makes you.
Zane
Isn't it crazy? We're related to so many people just. We just never met.
Unknown
Yeah.
Zane
So crazy.
Matt
I know. And your, like, lineage goes so far back too.
Zane
You'd be walking amongst them. You could be friends with them. You just have.
Unknown
We could be related right now in some way. Yeah. And we just don't know.
Matt
Do you think, like, I bet it will be real like a hundred years from now. Like our great. Or like just great, great grandkids. Or like, oh, let me pull up my dad, my great great grandpa's old podcast. And just watching these clips, like, look at this. I was related. This man from 100 years ago. Look at what they're wearing. Oh, my. And they're holding these mic things in front of them and they have headphones on and it's. But they have this. They have the 70s. It's not the 70s, but it's.
Unknown
I rewatched Back to the Future and it's crazy.
Matt
Oh, yeah.
Unknown
What they nailed from, like the 80s.
Mariah
Such a good movie.
Matt
Oh, when they go to the future.
Unknown
Just like they. They had like, where they jumped back to future too.
Matt
They go to the future.
Unknown
So they went to the future. They went to, like the year 2015. And in 2015, there was a 1980s themed bar. And he was like, what is that? Like, why is. Oh, there's still. He's like, oh, no, it's a. It's a. It's a bar in the future. But they made it look like it was in the 80s for like a nostalgic type thing. And then they're like, looking at. He's like, I don't know. It's just like. Like, that stuff is.
Zane
So did they nail 2015?
Matt
No. No.
Unknown
There's like flying car.
Matt
Flying cars. Flying hoverboards. Like. Yeah, I've never seen that. I don't know.
Unknown
Yeah, but like, there was a few things that they got that I was.
Zane
Like, 2015, flying cars is crazy.
Unknown
Yeah.
Matt
Why?
Mariah
When, like, we predict the future, it's like all floating. Everything's like, floating.
Zane
But what's crazy is that we can do flying cars. It's just. It's just not smart to do flying cars, you know what I mean?
Matt
Why is that?
Mariah
The like be more creative.
Matt
Because I think people were like, well, we're making planes and if that goes in the sky, why can't we do that for?
Mariah
There's so much more ideas to think of.
Zane
It's hard to. It's just so hard to regulate that.
Unknown
And it's so easy to go to that first. Like.
Zane
Yeah. Or the build those buildings that just like look like, like Dubai buildings.
Matt
Pretty much, yeah.
Zane
Because when you look at Dubai, that looks like a futuristic city, right?
Unknown
Yes.
Zane
Right now. Like right now it looks like a futuristic city.
Matt
Yeah.
Unknown
Even like China, like parts of China and like Japan look super futuristic.
Matt
Oh yeah, 100%. It's just interesting. Like we create these buildings because that's what we think the future will look like. But then sometimes it kind of looks like that was our version of what the future was. But in a way it looks like faux future.
Unknown
The 80s is so interesting because they were making things that like this is what the future is. And like the designs from the 80s.
Matt
Retro.
Unknown
Retro Futurism, 60s, 70s, 70s space age. So cool.
Matt
Yeah.
Unknown
And it's very futuristic. But like when you look at it.
Mariah
You now see our idea of futuristic. Just very alien esque.
Unknown
Like cars from the 80s, like their lights.
Mariah
Yeah.
Unknown
Are to look futuristic. And like the dashes and the tech. Because it was like when tech was first coming out. It's so bizarre. And then when you look back at it, you're like, oh, that looks.
Matt
Yeah. I was watching like the first alien which is set in like 2000, 2200 or like 2044. It's like very far away. But they're in these massive spaceships and they're like galaxies away. But they're a computer. Like their AI they're talking to. It's the black screen with like green data. And I'm like, they couldn't but put like just a color TV in here and just made it look like touch screen. They got buttons everywhere. Like, I'm like, where's the touch screen?
Zane
Yeah, but like, I mean like they got buttons for the future is crazy.
Matt
Like, okay. And there's smoking cigs in space. Like you're like, that wouldn't be allowed.
Zane
So funny though, like futuristic things. It does look very cheesy when you like really think about it. That's why like when I feel like that's why when people are making or building new homes and they're. They're like going back to like 1990s styles just because I feel like the futuristic looking stuff is like people actually don't really want it.
Matt
People like romanticizing the past. It makes me feel a little bit more grounded, a little bit more human of a nicer time. Sometimes we don't want everything.
Unknown
Yeah, I cried at the flea market.
Mariah
More color.
Matt
It'll get there. It'll get there. I'm optimistic.
Zane
It's just sad.
Matt
I think architecturally what we've been like building.
Unknown
Oh, it's terrible.
Matt
Just going.
Unknown
There's no. It's so sad person look at everything is just so.
Zane
This looks like a hotel lobby.
Matt
So yeah. This millennial I call just a millennial flip. And it's just like we really don't.
Mariah
Because they can get these things up overnight.
Matt
Yeah.
Mariah
So basic. There's no easy.
Unknown
And then it's like if you make something plain, it's not like you have like an orange colored building with like color and character and like, well, somebody might not want an orange house, but it's like people used to pick homes because like they liked that.
Zane
I also think they just like now they're just like, let's just make everything gray. Which is terrible. But like they know that they're. These people are going to end up painting what they want anyway. So just give them a blank and let them do what they want. Even though they put like really cheap shit just to like make it.
Matt
I just want to see like. Yeah, because a lot of like homes I like are like the craftsman homes. Those like almost Sears kit houses that like were so iconic at the time. But like, bring those back, those kits and just those types of frameworks I would love to see. I just don't want everything open concept.
Zane
Yeah. Like this, like this room.
Matt
I could use some crown molding and maybe some Wayne Scotting, but I'm fine with it.
Zane
Yeah.
Unknown
It's so funny. Like getting older you appreciate those things. Like when I was younger, I'm like crown molding. That's so ugly. But now I'm like, it's just so.
Matt
It enriches a home.
Unknown
I think it makes it so much to it.
Matt
Yeah.
Zane
It just feels like it's missing now when you look up.
Matt
Just popcorn ceilings don't bring back popcorn. Jesus with. They were like, let's bring back that. It's just an awful idea. Whoever thought of doing popcorn ceilings?
Unknown
Like, I'm, I'm restoring my big red.
Matt
Yeah.
Unknown
And it's so funny because when I was younger I wanted everything. Like my customizations were like, paint the rims black, all the Logos, Black them out. Black out the grill. Do this, like, black out the. I remember spray painting my tail lights.
Matt
Trying to modernize it. Yeah.
Unknown
And you like, I was just doing that and like, now I'm undoing all of those things that I did when I first got the truck and I'm like, I'm putting it back to stock. I'm putting the stock.
Zane
You're trying to look like you lived in Gotham City.
Unknown
Like, interesting. Going back to like just that. Oem. Like.

Matt
Oh, they're putting a Rainforest Cafe at the top of the Empire State Building.
Mariah
The top building.
Zane
Wait, what?
Matt
So Empire State Building on top. The Empire State Building made a joke on April Fool's Day that they were gonna do a Rainforest Cafe on top.
Zane
It's really fun.
Matt
Now they're actually gonna do one, but it's like, it's a pop up, but for only a week. But like, they're gonna do like the Rainforest Cafe.
Zane
I'm a big fan of pop ups. They should do pop ups like that just with anything they can think of. Just like throw it somewhere, pop up, have people enjoy it and then get rid of it.
Mariah
If it's only for a week, I'd be down to go.
Zane
Yeah, you fly in for it.
Mariah
That's kind of funny.
Matt
Yeah. The Empire State Building has been having like a lot of sense of humor. Did you talk account?
Zane
Did you see they're doing a lot of press around that?
Mariah
I love that the businesses and companies are now like, they don't take things too seriously. They're having more fun and they're realizing like, what's getting people to come in? It's stuff like this. Like, this is gonna bring people together.
Zane
I do like that they're not being so uptight and professional about their.
Mariah
Yeah, yeah.
Zane
They're like, they're having a little bit more fun with their jokes and what they're posting and not taking too seriously on, like, what goes out.
Matt
Absolutely. Just a fun little thing that they're doing. I'm excited that there's. They're having a little bit of personality with.
Zane
Yeah, that's good. Okay. I was just so curious. I didn't know if it was like a.
Matt
Do you remember dioramas?
Zane
Diorama.
Matt
Because a kid. You made like a little scene out of a shoebox.
Mariah
Yep. Ecosystem.
Zane
We did that for episode Unfiltered.
Mariah
Oh, yeah.
Matt
Oh, when we did the Guess.
Zane
Yeah.
Matt
Oh, a box of lies.
Zane
A box of lies.
Matt
And he said I had Billie Eilish and like.
Zane
Very brat. Yeah. You saw that.
Matt
Very brat.
Zane
Very bright.
Matt
It's time. Truly.
Zane
Do you think Charlie saw that was like.
Matt
Oh, my God. Absolutely. Brat. Love saying Heath Unfiltered. My favorite podcast.
Zane
It was inspired. Brat. It was inspired by the Box of Lies episode that they did.
Matt
I just miss a diorama. I would just like to do it.
