There's a feeling of goodwill around town.
Zane
It could only mean one thing. McRib is here. People throwing parties, ugly sweaters everywhere, stockings hung up by the chimney with care. It could only mean one thing. Big Rib is here at participatingMcD's for a limited time.

Just on JonBenet Ramsey TikTok and it shows. Mariah Amado reposted and it was just like a random one. I'm like, brian, why'd you repost it? Said we went to her page. She's reposted all these different tiktoks.
Patricia
She's never, never even seen.
Mariah
My favorite one was a vampire and it was like such a. It was like, what did it say when I feel like I'm the only one in the house and it's like, it's like Dracula. Honestly.
Heath
I really like that TikTok.
Zane
Yeah, she loves. She's like, this is me. And I gotta let everybody know that this is something I relate.
Mariah
I know Mariah's gonna think about that for a long time. Imagine who saw that too. Like, just think everybody.
Zane
I wonder if I've accidentally reposted anything. We should do a little check.
Patricia
Everybody should check.
Heath
Mariah falls asleep every night and a tick tock will just play on repeat. And I think it's just like, you know when you watch it like twice, it like does the repost like it pops up to immediately. Oh, it thinks that you watched it twice. So you're gonna want to repost it. Oh, so a little button thing will pop up, like, repost to your followers or something like that. So I think it's just when it loops while she's sleeping, you gotta watch.
Mariah
Out for, like, accidentally imagine, like, a drama TikTok, and it's about, like, someone specific that they're like, they're on.
Zane
You're like, ooh, I'm gonna share that out there. I'm invested in this, and I know this person personally.
Heath
Guys don't sleep and scroll.
Mariah
It is scary because when you like, like, there will be a TikTok that only has a few likes, but if you hard it or favorite it, like, pops up, or when you hard it and then you unheard it, it still shows up as that notification that you harded it or favorite of it.
Heath
Accidentally liking something.
Zane
Have you ever accidentally gone live? No, but then I feel like that happens to people, like, all the time.
Mariah
I think you have to post, like, press, like, two, three buttons before there's, like a. There's a layer. There's layers to it.
Zane
Who's the guy? Oh, he was a former NFL player and he has his own talk show. Shannon Sharp or what's his name?
Heath
Yeah, he. I know you're talking about accidentally went.
Zane
Live and, like, was having sex.
Heath
No, no, it was just, like, the audio of it.
Zane
But, like. Yeah, and he, like, fully addressed it. He had a good sense of humor about it. Like, did, like, an emergency podcast, like, explaining the situation.
Mariah
How do you mistakenly go live?
Zane
I guess I'm like, how. Like, it's.
Mariah
I think they kind of pull, like, a Kim K. You know, a little Ray J. Moment.
Zane
I just feel like live should at least have, like, its own passcode that you have to, like, put in to really start the live.
Mariah
Exactly.
Zane
They shouldn't get something there.
Mariah
You know what for, like, if kids are on your, like, parents phone. I think also because live is such, like, a invasion of if nobody in the room knows that you're live.
Zane
Yeah.
Mariah
It should have, like, a password to, like, go live for sure.
Heath
I also get so worried about, like, people that can hack into, like, your cameras and see you live. Like, people that have, like.
Mariah
Is that a real thing?
Heath
Yes. People do it all the time. You can hack into somebody's, like, ring camera, doorbell, like, security system.
Zane
Yeah.
Mariah
Can you hack into someone's, like, iPhone camera? I don't know.
Heath
Or like, you know how people, like, cover their laptop screen?
Zane
Yeah. They have, like, the little privacy people who.
Heath
They'll, like, talk to their kids through, like, Baby monitor, like, home camera systems.
Mariah
Oh, I've seen that. That's.
Zane
Yes, it's definitely. It's possible. It is totally possible.
Mariah
Because if people can hack through webcams like that, like, why can't they hack into phones?
Zane
Phone cameras, yes. So strange.
Mariah
Very interesting.
Heath
When we were away on vacation, this wasn't a hack or anything. My sprinkler system broke and was dumping water all into the front yard for, like, five hours, and there was nothing I can do. I tried calling a plumber to have somebody out sent to the house, and I'm just like, watching my whole front.
Zane
Yard just get flooded.
Mariah
This is the second time, right?
Heath
This is the second time it happened. The first time I was home and was able to turn it off. Guy came, I thought he fixed it. And then the day after we left on vacation, it was just going. People were walking by.
Zane
I was like, was it a sprinkler head that got busted?
Heath
Or the sprinklers run to, like, one thing where they come together and the whole top of that busted open? So is the entire main water supply just shooting water into my front yard, down into the street? And I'm like, there's nothing I can do. And then luckily, one of my neighbors, like, came to the doorbell to, like, thinking I was home to let me know. I was like, I'm not home right now. And, like, I walked him through how to shut it off. Oh, I felt so bad. But, yeah, we got it covered.
Mariah
You know the trend that's been going with the we. We. What is it? We listen and we don't judge.
Zane
We listen and we don't judge.
Mariah
In the beginning, there were, like. They were, like, really cute videos. People were like, you know, oh, oh, my God. And then have you been seeing the ones lately?
Zane
They, like, people are.
Mariah
They are, like, talking way too much.
Zane
To their, like, significant other or they're doing it in front of their friends.
Mariah
Yeah. Like, it's getting, like, out of control.
Patricia
Like, like nasty now.
Mariah
Real nasty.
Patricia
Like, it's not even fun.
Mariah
Yeah.
Patricia
Like, it's like, you guys should be having this conversation privately.
Zane
Yes. Why wait TikTok.
Heath
They wanted to get stuff off there. We should do this trend.
Zane
Yeah.
Heath
No, no, no. We should do it. It'll be fun.
Patricia
Because they want the comments to take sides.
Zane
That's to, like, post it too. Like, even if you had, like, an awkward moment and it started, like, beef between you and your friend, and you'd be like, oh, post. Like you. Nothing in you is like, maybe we shouldn't post the good Ones are the.
Mariah
One ones where the kids are doing it to their parents and they're mate. Just making up on the spot to get their parents reaction. That one would be a perfect one, Mariah, to do to your mom.
Zane
Where.
Mariah
They'Ll be like, we listen and we don't judge. One day I stole your car. Like I took your car on a joyride.
Heath
Oh, that's funny.
Mariah
Hit it. Or I hit somebody with your car and I drove off and then I came back to the house and you never, like, I never told anybody about it, but like, like that where it's just like completely out of pocket.
Zane
We listen and we don't judge. Yeah, you got to start small. If you do it with your mom, like just someone she. Oh, yeah. We listen, we don't judge. We listen. We don't judge. I'm sorry, what?
Mariah
New flavor alert. New flavor alert. New flavor alert. Guys, you. You guys know we've been drinking Accelerator for the past. We love Accelerator so much. They have the best amazing flavors in the market. And they just came out with their new flavor, Orange Ice Pop.
Heath
Absolutely delicious. I. I love Dreamsicles, Orange Pops, things like that. Just reminds me of my childhood.
Mariah
It's honestly the best flavor they've made so far. They actually had an orange flavor before, and they, they went back to the shop, decided to mix it up a little bit, and they came out with even a better orange flavor. It's so good.
Heath
And you're still going to get enhanced focus, sustained energy. You're still going to be ramping up your metabolism. These things are unbelievable to pick you up in the middle of the afternoon if you're about to go out, have fun. You want to, you know, get a little bit of an energy boost. Accelerator is the way to go.
Mariah
And you're not going to believe it right now, but they are going to give you a free case of these new orange.
Heath
Say what?
Mariah
A free case of orange ice Pops. If you go to drink accelerated.com and buy yourself a case of any of their flavors on their site right now, you're going to get a free case of these right to your doorstep, baby.
Heath
That's right, guys. You have to try them. Drink accelerator.com. thank you. We love you. And I love your new flavor.
Mariah
Accelerate your life, baby.
Heath
Shall we?
Mariah
Yeah.
Zane
Yeah. We hop right into that.
Mariah
It's Cobital, baby. Let's go. Ow. Welcome back to Zayn and Heath Unfiltered. I'm Zane.
Heath
I'm Heath.
Zane
I'm Matt.
Patricia
I'm Mariah.
Mariah
And we are hungover oh, yeah.
Zane
Did you go out?
Patricia
You were gonna say hungry? And I was like, yes.
Mariah
No, I. I drank last night for the first time in a while.
Heath
How was it? Where'd you go?
Mariah
I. I don't miss it. I don't miss it. We just went out to, like, a few places.
Zane
And then I saw you yesterday.
Mariah
Oh, I saw you yesterday.
Zane
Five minutes. Texas lost the SEC championship. No know. He was crushed.
Mariah
He was bummed so he left.
Zane
But it was a good game. It was a good fight. It went into overtime and we lost. But we still have the playoffs, so.
Heath
Do you like when things go into overtime?
Zane
I don't like football overtimes very much because it's not timed. It's a. It's like a back and forth. First to score, but then the person gets a redemption. If they score more, they win. But some overtimes go for so long. I was watching. Oh, it was over Thanksgiving break. One that went into like six overtimes. Insane. Like, but I love knowing overtime is a possibility.
Mariah
Yeah.
Heath
Yeah.
Zane
Where it's like, oh, overtime's happening.
Mariah
More bang for your.
Zane
More time to get more drinks. Like, I don't know. It's just like a whole next level.
Mariah
What's like, what would you say is the. The most stressful overtime?
Heath
Hockey shootouts. I love. Oh, my God.
Mariah
I feel like soccer is such like a.
Zane
Because that's a shootout.
Mariah
No. Over time. No, that's not a shootout. I think overtime is.
Zane
So is it a shootout?
Heath
Soccer is very weird because, like, that sport, they keep the. The timer running the entire time until then.
Zane
And then they give them extra minutes for time that, like, where it had to stop.
Heath
Right, right.
Zane
And they get an extra four, three, whatever. How many more minutes?
Heath
And then I don't know about, like, if it's still tied after that, how the overtime works. But like, hockey shootouts are the best.
Zane
How does a hockey shootout go? Is it similar to a soccer shootout where the one person goes up one.
Heath
On one with the goalie?
Zane
How far can they get? Or is there like a limit to where they have to shoot? Or can they get up real up close?
Heath
So you can get up close. You just can't go backwards with the puck.
Zane
Okay. Okay.
Heath
As long as you're moving forward.
Mariah
Interesting. What do you mean moving backwards? Like, the puck can't move back at all.
Heath
You can't be like skating. Take your time, back up a bit. And like, kind of. You have to be just pursuit. Puck has to always be going forward.
Zane
How does baseball overtime work extra innings? It's extra innings, basically.
Mariah
I wish I knew how to play baseball. Baseball looks so fun. Oh, yeah, I could hit.
Patricia
Baseball's a random. Not too random because I grew up, like, watching a family that played baseball, but, like, baseball, something I'm really good at.
Mariah
Oh, really?
Heath
Yeah, she, like, at the batting range, she kills it.
Mariah
Really?
Zane
Slugger.
Mariah
Wait, that's amazing. I didn't know that.
Patricia
Yeah.
Zane
Do you, do you think. Wait, did you ever play softball at all growing up?
Patricia
Yeah, I played softball in just elementary school.
Zane
Why is it that softball is totally different than baseball for, like, women to play it? Why does it have to be a bigger ball?
Patricia
My dad played.
Zane
Why does it have to be. Because basketball, it's the same size court. We're playing the exact same game.
Heath
For female and male basketball, it's like, this big.
Zane
You got a bit of bigger basket. Like.
Heath
That would be funny.
Mariah
Those exercise balls. What do you call it?
Heath
A medicine ball.
Mariah
Yeah, medicine ball.
Zane
Just granny shot.
Mariah
That's funny up.
Zane
But I just think that's, like, a little kind of sexist with, like, no men.
Patricia
There's men's leagues for.
Heath
I played softball.
Mariah
Yeah, men's men play softball, too.
Zane
Is popular for men to play, but. But there's pro softball players or just softball. Competitively is usually pretty, like, winning.
Heath
It is interesting that it's basically the same sport. They just changed the ball. It's like.
Zane
And the field, too.
Heath
Yeah, it's a little different.
Zane
Smaller field. You have to have a softball field.
Mariah
Softball considered easier. An easier sport to play.
Zane
No, I think it's equally, like, athletic.
Mariah
You just looks harder to me.
Patricia
I feel like I could not pitch underhand to save my life.
Zane
And they got, like, ponytail and like.
Mariah
Yeah, the way they, like, jerk their shit. And, like, I feel like I, I. I feel like I'd be able to hit an actual or a baseball pitch easier than a softball pitch.
Zane
And why in softball don't they wear baseball caps?
Heath
What do you mean?
Zane
I feel like in softball, they wear.
Patricia
Visors with their ponytail.
Mariah
They do wear visors.
Zane
Yeah, but they. Oh, I guess. I guess because of the ponytail. They wear the visor. They do wear a visor. I guess in my head, I always picture a female culture. It is softball culture, but I feel like they don't. Sometimes they wear visors, sometimes they don't.
Heath
When I was in middle school, I played softball, and for some reason, I don't know why, but I ended up being the catcher.
Mariah
Yeah, but, Oh, I was behind.
Heath
Yeah, but it was. It was before I had glasses or contacts and I couldn't see Anything. So I talked to my parents about this recently. They were just like, you were the worst catcher. And I was like, yeah, because I couldn't see. I don't know how I ended up getting that position, but I remember just sitting here just like. And every time I would miss the ball.
Mariah
Why didn't you tell them that you couldn't see?
Heath
I think it was like, before I real like, you know, I think after.
Mariah
The first couple, I'd be like, oh, I can't see the damn ball.
Heath
I think when you're younger, you don't realize that your eyes are not normal.
Zane
Okay.
Heath
Bad.
Mariah
Like, you don't think everyone has your the same right.
Heath
You don't have like, another thing to compare it to. Because I remember, like, I couldn't see, but I just thought, like, it was.
Zane
Just, you must normally good in practice, I guess, for like the coach, for them to like, I guess with the lights and everything.
Heath
Good reflexes to where like, if it came close, I could like, yeah. But I'm just sitting there waiting until it's like, right here. But like, you didn't have anything to compare to to be like, my eyes are bad.
Mariah
I'm guessing your parents didn't take any home videos. They're like, we can't nobody sees that. We don't want to remember this, but yeah.
Zane
Did you play coaches pitch baseball?
Heath
I didn't. I didn't do any of little league or anything. Baseball growing up. I only did soccer and football.
Zane
Okay.
Heath
But like, coach, Coach pitch is so interesting.
Zane
Yeah. Because it was like a dad throwing the ball. It wasn't ball, but the kids couldn't throw it to you because they weren't coordinated enough to get the ball to you. But it was like a dad just.
Heath
Gracefully throwing above T ball. Right. Like, you do T ball and then it's like coach coaches pitch then.
Zane
And then like, totally Little league.
Mariah
Yeah.
Zane
Pony baseball or whatever.
Mariah
Interesting.
Heath
Coach pitch is so funny. My dad used to be the. The coach and the pitcher and he apparently he was hitting kids left and right. And like, the other parents were like, getting pissed.
Zane
Oh.
Heath
They were like, get him out. Like, before we continue, we want to give a big thank you to our sponsor of this podcast. Better help.
Mariah
Guys, it's December, which means it's the cold, shivery cold, freezing winter months, baby. How are we staying cozy this. This winter?
Heath
Baby, I'm staying cozy indoors with a hot chocolate, maybe a little fireplace on.
Mariah
Dang, that sounds real nice and cozy. But you know what I find cozy in these freezing winter months? Therapy.
Heath
That's right. And therapy is a great way to bring yourself some comfort that never goes away, even when the seasons change.
Mariah
Exactly. So if you're thinking of starting therapy, give BetterHelp a try. It's entirely online, designed to be convenient, flexible, suited to your schedule, and it's super simple.
Heath
All you have to do is fill out a brief questionnaire to get matched with a licensed therapist, and you can switch therapists at any time for no additional charge.
Mariah
When I'm talking to a professional therapist that I feel like the main thing for me is just convenience. I hate having to drive all the way downtown to some private corporate office building to go up to the 37th floor to see this. And waiting in a waiting room. I can't do all that. I want to do that from my bed, from my living room. It's. That's what it's all about.
Heath
That's right. And especially when you're trying to find comfort this December, it's so much better to do it at home from the comfort of your own home. And if you want to check it out, all you have to do is visit betterhelp.com Zane and Heath today and you're going to get 10 off your first month again.
Mariah
That's BetterHelp. H E L p.com Zayn and Heath.
Heath
Thank you so much, BetterHelp for sponsoring this podcast. We love you.
Mariah
Remember last episode we were talking about how your whole airline experience how like the, how terrible it was. How terrible it wasn't with the, with like the, with the Carry on or the cat.
Heath
Yeah.
Mariah
I just saw something on Tick Tock. Where There. What do you call those, like, conferences.
Zane
That they like a hearing.
Mariah
It's a hearing, but yes. What are those hearings, like, official? Because I feel like I, I always see them, but like, I never see them on, like the news where it's.
Heath
Like in a courtroom.
Mariah
Yeah. I always see on my phone, but.
Zane
Never on the Senate, I believe. Or it's like that's when all the senators will they call forth, like companies or the stuff that's under question. It's not a formal investigation, but usually it's just like a hearing to scare them into having better tactics.
Mariah
Oh.
Zane
That's all questions and. But by them making those statements, they can use that for like. Okay, I think that's how it goes. Yeah.
Mariah
Because I feel like I always see them, but like I don't ever see anything be done about it after. Like, nobody gets in trouble. It's almost like it's more like a.
Zane
Big slap on the wrist and just goes, help us understand what's going on here. And that's where I cannot be.
Mariah
Like, a position like that. If someone talks to me like that, I'd crumble.
Zane
So the hearing that happened was is that they got all the, you know, the CEOs and the big execs from all the top airlines to call them into questioning. And the Spirit Airlines especially, got grilled for its. Its questionable practices of charging people for overweight bags, size of bags.
Heath
So funny. It just like what it did was it confirmed everybody's suspicions, though.
Mariah
Exactly.
Heath
Because, like, everybody had problems and they were like, I feel like I'm getting, like, harassed and picked on. And like, people like, the whole thing ended up coming out that it is true that Spirit Airlines and a couple other airlines, their workers are paid to harass you.
Zane
Yeah. They're incentivized.
Heath
Yes. So they make money by going up and saying, your bag is too big and doesn't fit in the carry on and then charging the customer to then have to put it under the plane.
Patricia
Which makes sense why every time you fly, it's a different experience. Especially there are people that help. There are people that don't help, and you're. And then they gaslight you to thinking it's your fault.
Mariah
Exactly.
Heath
Crazy.
Patricia
And then also very confusing.
Heath
Their. The carry on size allowance was smaller than it should have been. So people that did have bags that are perfectly normal for carry on size were being pulled aside and then charged for no reason just because that person working the gate or the, you know.
Zane
Yeah.
Heath
Airline worker is making money off of that.
Patricia
Crazy.
Mariah
So how are they being. It's not like they're getting commission off of these, like, carry on, like, overcharges. So, like, what's the incentive?
Zane
Like, their commission is like, getting 10 extra bucks for every person who has to pay.
Heath
Every person flying that you pull aside and say their bag is too big or doesn't fit in the carry on, they were getting 10 bucks.
Mariah
Oh, shut down the whole airline.
Heath
They also said that they paid out $24 million to their employees in these incentive programs to harass the customers over one year or.
Zane
I know it was 12.3 billion. Is how much rent revenue they've taken in from 2018 to now.
Heath
I think it was 24. Paid out for the year.
Patricia
That guy grilling them. He didn't stutter, though.
Zane
Oh, Josh Hawley.
Patricia
He should be president.
Zane
He has a good shot. I mean, he has his own issues, but, I mean, Josh Holly is a stud of a politician, head of Hair, too. I know.
Mariah
I saw that. I was so jealous. Eye roll. I was like, God damn it. Of course. Of course.
Zane
No, he has.
Patricia
So him catching them and trying to get them to admit it. They started stuttering and we're like, gotcha.
Mariah
It's so hard to fight somebody.
Zane
So they're suckers. They're suckers. Is that what you're saying?
Mariah
Yeah.
Heath
Right?
Zane
Yeah. He was calling them out, especially about how it's just how bullshit it is that people will pay different baggage fees. It doesn't. So some person may pay $12, some person may pay $100. But it's just not fair.
Mariah
It just doesn't make sense for.
Heath
I just saw people right now. So you know how expensive it is to check a bag?
Zane
Yeah.
Heath
People now are shipping their suitcase to arrive at their destination because it's cheaper to ship your suitcase with the weight. With ups, usps, whatever it is cheaper to ship it ahead of time and have it arrive at your destination as opposed to flying with it.
Zane
That's insane. Do you still have to put your suitcase, though, in a box?
Heath
No. So they allow you to ship suitcases.
Zane
That's great.
Heath
Yep.
Zane
But hopefully it, like, survives, like, better, I guess. Like, I don't know.
Heath
Couldn't be worse.
Mariah
It couldn't be worse than airlines. Honestly.
Heath
You should see what my bags look like.
Zane
Yeah. Someone should make that like. Or make that business. But, like, right by the airport or.
Mariah
Something where you're honestly better off. Like, the suitcases that you have, you're better off having, like, the really co. You know, the connie ones that, like.
Heath
Like canvas. Yeah, canvas instead of the hard ones.
Mariah
Because the hard ones will get dented.
Zane
Oh, no. I have an idea. But no, no.
Mariah
Say, you know how they. They're always selling you on, like, you should get, like, the hard shell cases, but I feel like those are the worst ones to get for.
Zane
Yeah. I don't think the shelf life on them is that good.
Mariah
Terrible.
Zane
Also, I've noticed this, and maybe this is my own little conspiracy. Every time I'm at a baggage claim, the bags come out. There's always like, 20 bags that come out and nobody takes those bags. Who, like, you know what I mean? Like, there's always tons of bags going. I get mine. Yeah. But it's like I see the same bag and over. And I go, whose bags are these?
Mariah
The back of the plane is. Maybe their backs come out first. Some. For some reason, I guess.
Zane
But sometimes I'm there and I go, whose bags are these? Why is nobody reaching for these Bags.
Heath
Yeah, probably. Because the last people to board the plane are the ones that checked their bags last, which would be the first ones that are pulled out might be like, the.
Zane
And those people have not made it down to the baggage claim yet. And I'm just there earlier than them.
Mariah
It.
Heath
It takes a long time to Debo.
Zane
Sometimes I think there's fake bags that they just put out, like. Or they go, oh, wait, we're going to be delayed. But let's make it seem like bags are coming out and they're just putting out these f. It could be like.
Heath
Our bags that went on the flight the night before because people got screwed over trying to check a pet. So it's just like our bags were going around that carousel for however long.
Mariah
Oh, did you. Do your bags get put in, like, the. Like, the office?
Heath
They put it in, like, the unclaimed baggage, so we had to go up and ask a word.
Mariah
I'd be so scared that I just never. It never pops up again.
Heath
Me too.
Zane
When you are waiting for your bag, do you sit and see it and then wait for it to come, or do you hawk or do you walk around in there?
Patricia
People that stand right up against the belt just wait. What?
Zane
We can all see it. And then you take a step forward when your bag is there. But why do you need to be right there on the rail as you're.
Mariah
Pulling off the bag? They're not moving for you because you need that space.
Patricia
It's cr. It's like people are so unaware. It's painful.
Zane
I want to go in. I want to go up the ramp so bad. I want to go back there. I want it to be like Toy Story 2.
Patricia
Company Miners. That was like a dream come true. Did you watch that? The Christmas movie? They go into the baggage claim, and then they go to the unclaimed freight, and they're, like, playing with everyone's stuff.
Zane
What does it look like?
Patricia
It looks. It looks like a giant warehouse, but there's a kid that goes down, like, the belt.
Zane
Oh, wow.
Heath
I have the same feeling about that. And going in a bowling alley past the pins.
Zane
Yes.
Heath
Same feeling. Everything in me wants to crawl and just go up under there and look.
Zane
Oh, man.
Heath
Yeah. I want to crawl into a bowling alley where. Like, where the pins are set up so bad.
Zane
Yeah. I mean, I bet if you ask nicely.
Mariah
Are you good at bowling?
Zane
Yeah, I'm decent at bowling.
Mariah
Yeah.
Zane
Yeah, I'm decent at it.
Mariah
Suck at it. That's why I hate. I hate. And whenever I say, let's go Bowling.
Zane
I'm like, if there was a sport and you had to be good at and you could become a pro, what sport would it be? And we were like. You were still like, I don't think so.
Heath
So hard.
Mariah
No.
Zane
If you bowled every day for a month, you'd be a pretty great bowler at the end. You can't. If you can still play golf every day for a month, you're.
Mariah
I don't think you're saying was like the hardest sport.
Zane
It was like. I think it's the easiest professional sport that you could probably get into. Do well like all other sports I think are take a little bit more skill in training. But bowling is like once you get that groove going, I think every other.
Patricia
Sport has more obstacles. Yeah. Bowling is literally just one skill. It's just rolling it down and getting a strike. There's not like you go to different stations and like.
Mariah
Like a kid can get a strike.
Patricia
You know how people have like miniature golf.
Mariah
Yeah.
Patricia
They come up with like. Yeah. Different putt. Putt areas. They don't. They should do one for bowling where it's kind of like.
Zane
Ramp.
Mariah
That'd be actually. That's an amazing idea. Almost like a bowling.
Zane
I would say like the ring toss game, you know ring toss game where it's a ring on a string and you're trying to get on the hook. After you've done that over like 25 times, you start sinking it every time.
Mariah
Yes.
Zane
That's what I think bowling is. It's like you're going to get a lot of strikes if you get that groove.
Heath
What weight are we going with for the ball?
Zane
I don't know my weights.
Patricia
A good maybe 8 pounder.
Mariah
I think I'm at 11.
Zane
I just. Whatever fits my fingers.
Heath
Not your shoe size.
Mariah
No, I really think it's a lot. It can't be too heavy, but it also can't be too light, you know.
Zane
Do bowlers use different balls for like different weights for different situations?
Heath
Like a Whatever. What do they call it? Like a 110 split or what? You know, like that.
Zane
Yeah.
Heath
Are you throwing a lighter ball to get it to like bounce around more like my brother.
Mariah
The way my brother bowls, he always does the spin. So you go like this and he's like.
Zane
And it like arcs.
Patricia
Professional bowlers use 16 pound balls.
Heath
That's heavy.
Patricia
That's really heavy.
Zane
It must just be one ball because you can't bring in three different balls as a bowler. That's pretty heavy.
Mariah
I think they do though, like a bowling bag.
Zane
I feel like you could fit two balls in. That's. That's true.
Mariah
Yeah.
Zane
Polish that up with that rag. How we doing today, guys?
Heath
There's nothing. I think getting your own custom ball is so cool though.
Zane
How much is that probably, like, I.
Heath
Literally would have no idea.
Mariah
It sounds expensive.
Patricia
My dad has a custom one.
Zane
You have a bowling ball in your house?
Patricia
We do.
Zane
Wow. That's like something that you always see like in home alone or like there's no bowling ball at like in my house or at my parents house. There's no bowling ball, but there's always one in like a show.
Heath
I think my parents have custom because they used to like be like in a bowling league. Like, okay. There was young and would take him to the. But he was into bowling.
Zane
Where do you buy a bowling ball at? I've never been in like, I bet at a Dick Sporting Goods. I don't know. Do they sell bowling balls?
Mariah
I feel like they would. Yeah.
Heath
Custom bowling shoes.
Zane
Oh, yeah. I think I already own a pair because I walked out. Because, you know, they take your shoes and they give you your shoes and you just walk right out with those.
Mariah
There's one. I never returned it. They had my. They had my shoe and I just kept the bowling shoes.
Heath
I have a pair of bowling shoes from.
Mariah
They're kind of sick.
Zane
Yeah. You like moonwalk with them? Yeah.
Mariah
Like you gotta feel like a tab dancer.
Zane
Yeah.
Heath

Exactly. Prize picks run your game, baby. Thank you Prize Picks for sponsoring today's episode. This holiday season. We love you. The. The. That story about the CEO.
Zane
Yes.
Mariah
Getting murdered.
Heath
It's getting really weird.
Mariah
Isn't that crazy?
Zane
It's like a healthcare CEO was shot.
Heath
Yeah.
Zane
In plain daylight. And they haven't caught the killer, right?
Heath
Nope.
Zane
You did that in the middle of Manhattan.
Mariah
Tells you that this guy, it was a very, very like highly trained like assassin. Like with like him writing down the bullet casings at the scene of the.
Heath
So he.
Mariah
Scene of the crime.
Heath
He left three bullet casings that said deny, depose and something else.
Mariah
Something else.
Zane
And so but who then hired this assassin goes, I want you to kill him and I want you to get bullets. And I want each of these bullet casings to say a different thing.
Heath
I don't think, I think it, I don't think he was like, I don't.
Mariah
Think it was one person.
Heath
There's a couple different theories that he like just did it himself and like just was like trying to make a message, prove a point, whatever. And then some other people think that he was hired to go do this.
Mariah
Because I think he was hired.
Zane
I think if you. Well then I think, no, he just wanted to do it because I think if you wanted to kill a healthcare CEO Is because they like screwed you over off your own. Like health care.
Heath
Right.
Zane
Or someone in your family died.
Mariah
Yeah.
Zane
Due to like neglect from the healthcare company and all of that. Like there's a motive there.
Mariah
But then like he lost. He lost everything.
Zane
Money to be like your health care wasn't working out. But then you want to go higher. Right.
Heath
That's why I don't think he was hired. I think he just did it himself.
Zane
That's what I was just like.
Mariah
Oh. Because if it was. You think it was.
Heath
He was hired.
Mariah
It had been much cleaner, like a much more.
Zane
If I was a higher gun, I wouldn't kill anybody in middle of Manhattan. I don't know. That's just so risky.
Mariah
Again, it like sends a message.
Zane
Like McDonald's CEO was like snack wraps. Listening, everybody look over here. McDonald. It's just funny, the timing of it. The CEO of this healthcare company gets shot and killed and then McDonald CEO or President goes on like a big news segment and goes, I have read a lot of your messages. It's the top thing. And yalls are back. He goes, I'm bringing him back in 20, 20, 25. Will not say when exactly due to competitive reasons.
Mariah
The way he said it was like he was like watching you open presents next to the Christmas. He was just like, like, I'm bringing the snack rose.
Heath
But like trying to get him the good side so he didn't get.
Mariah
So he's not next on this guy's list. I was watching this girl's take on it because she. She's in criminal studies or she. That's what. That's her like major. And she was saying that there is just such a slim, slim chance this guy's going to be caught because with like the evidence that they have, it's like this guy was trained. Like, he will not like. Because intelligent people that commit these type of crimes, they just don't get caught. They know exactly what to do.
Heath
Right, right.
Mariah
To not get caught.
Patricia
Some people just do these things because they want to get caught. Like they like to leave trails and then they expect to get caught eventually.
Zane
What's really interesting is just the public sentiment about this guy getting shot. Everyone's like, oh, well, like, you know, instead of like thoughts and prayers, they're like, we'll send like, no.
Mariah
There was one comment that people don't care.
Zane
People are like leaning and being like, oh, sorry.
Mariah
Someone comments, is saying, oh, he's looking up at us from her. Oh, he's looking up.
Zane
Yeah, he's looking up.
Mariah
Yeah. RF he's looking up at us. I'm like, oh my God.
Zane
Oh, I know. Like those are all the top comments.
Mariah
But I wonder what like they, but they still don't know why this happened, right? They haven't gotten an answer for that clearly yet.
Zane
We, yeah, we don't know like the clear motive, but it definitely is related to health care.
Heath
It's so funny because I saw some, somebody talking about how like, you know, the whole defense is like the CEO is it needs to make that much money because without them, you know, the, the business would crumble and they wouldn't be able to function without like the CEO, which is why he needs to be making 50 million a year or whatever his salary was. And everybody's like, like United seems to be running the past week and doing just fine without this guy running it. So clearly.
Zane
Yeah.
Mariah
Wait, you said, you said United, like that's United. Oh, United Health Care.
Patricia
Sorry.
Zane
Yeah, I thought you're talking about the airline.
Mariah
I was like, I'm sorry.
Heath
No, but yeah, they were just saying like such an important.
Patricia
Justice for Dean.
Heath
If it would have been, if it would have been United Airline and that happened, people would be like, he would.
Mariah
Have been number one suspended.
Zane
The guy does not look like the CEO of a healthcare company.
Patricia
No, he looks like the CEO of.
Zane
Marketing or like Bass Pro Shop.
Heath
Yeah, he looks like he would like own yeti coolers.
Zane
Yes. Yes, this is what he looks like.
Patricia
No, he invented the Stanley Cup.
Heath
Stanley Cup.
Zane
Yes.
Mariah
He would laugh at this if he wasn't something.
Patricia
This is the shortest story ever and nothing happens.
Heath
No, this is terrifying.
Patricia
This is like a crazy bucket list moment that happened to me the other day. I was on the highway and I was with my friend Kate and we were driving to dance and we were heading into Hollywood, about to exit. And the shoulder next to us is a very slim shoulder because there was about to be an exit coming up. So it's a very thin shoulder, right? We're about to exit and this car is flying past us on the shoulder full like, I'm talking like 120 miles an hour from bumpers ripped off, picking up dirt. And I saw the car in front of me. How close he got to that car? It was like, like a hairline hair. That's how close it was to hitting. And I, of course I was in freaking Heath's car. I was terrified flying. And in a split second we looked at each other and we were like high speed chase and you hear all the cops flying and then the helicopter. It was insane. It Was really sick.
Zane
I bet you could go back in the footage and see the moment that.
Patricia
I've been trying to look for the live. I've been trying to look for the live. I haven't been able to find it, but I know the where I was and the moment. I still want to try to look for it. I think we can just go online.
Heath
And we saw it on Citizen. High speed chase ended in crash, so blew by her and then ended up crashing in like probably like 10 minutes later.
Zane
But it's so scary.
Mariah
That's really sick. But a very dangerous situation because I waited.
Patricia
I was like, this is awesome. To get home to tell Heath because I didn't want him to, like, be worried. But it was a crazy moment.
Heath
It felt like I have no regard for anybody else. Like, they're just like, get me away from the cops. I don't care who's in my way. They will just plow through it.
Zane
How does insurance work with that? If you get hit by someone on a police cover?
Mariah
Oh, yeah, Yeah. I mean, your insurance will go up, which sucks. I mean, you know, any accident you're in, whether it's your fault or not, insurance goes up.
Zane
Yeah, I hope it would go down. They would just feel bad for me.
Patricia
It's crazy how that I have to say this. I'm going to be so annoying. But it's like that episode of the Office where the high speed chase is flying past the office and only Michael saw it. He goes, I saw it, I saw it. It was right here. And they're going out and collecting like the. The rocks from where he passes. And he goes, I'm going to show my grand kids. This is the straight and strangler or whatever it was. It's so funny.
Mariah
I'm guessing you didn't get a, like, video of everything.
Patricia
We only got the cops flying by. It happened really fast. And then she started recording and it was just the cops flying by. I tried, I tried. I got up to 80 and I'm like, this is too much.
Zane
Right.
Mariah
Gets on her s. You know this.
Patricia
Yeah, Wait, Dwight does that.
Heath
Before we continue, we want to give a big thank you to our next sponsor of this podcast.
Mariah

Heath
Thank you so much Earn for sponsoring this podcast. We love you.
Zane
I'm curious like the levels of punishment when you are in a police chase. Yeah. Like 30, like a 20 minute long chase is like one punishment and then if it goes on for like an hour, does that get even worse?
Mariah
That's really interesting. I think it's.
Zane
Do they milk it or.
Mariah
I honestly don't think it's length of how long the chase is. It's how much damage you're doing. Yeah.
Heath
What you're accumulating as you go.
Mariah
Like as soon as you, if you pass a red light, that's one, you pass another red light, that's two. I like, I think that's how they rack it up.
Heath
Imagine me in the cop following. You're just like trying to write down lights for a stop sign.
Zane
Yeah.
Heath
But also I think they take into account how much taxpayer dollar that you require to stop.
Zane
Yes.
Heath
Because it's like as soon as you deploy that helicopter, mark it down 500,000 and then they just keep adding it on.
Zane
Like, and I, I feel like one police chase you. What's the minimum like jail time you're gonna get by causing that? Like at least I feel like a year. Like if you do it, you know.
Patricia
What I would, I would run and risk it for, for the plot up to a year in jail. Maximum thousand dollar fine.
Mariah
Right. With the. With in these times that year's gonna go by.
Patricia
Oh, you get fed every day.
Mariah
Oh, my God.
Zane
Oh.
Mariah
Imagine the pre recording we have to do for the podcast, though.
Patricia
This is the only footage I have. So do you see the shoulder? There's the barricade. And that teeny, teeny, tiny shoulder right here. That's where he flew by.
Mariah
Oh, is this.
Patricia
This is just the cops.
Mariah
Oh.
Patricia
That was a dream come true.
Zane
A dream come true.
Mariah
A dream come true.
Heath
Almost gets smashed by a car.
Zane
I love videos where people, like, throw out the spikes.
Heath
Yes.
Zane
Like, they time it just right. Right when the.
Patricia
They must feel like a superhero. That's a crazy job.
Heath
Have you seen the new. I don't think it's in, like, every police department now, but it's like the new thing to stop cars where the cop car has it on the front and they basically hit the back of the car and it like, wraps into the wheel and locks the person.
Zane
That's.
Heath
It's so cool. Just like where technology is going for, like, stopping cars.
Mariah
So they. They hit the back of the car and then.
Heath
Yeah. So it's like this, like, fork thing that comes out in, like, the front, and when they bump the car, the back tires catch the netting and then it just like. And it locks up and like the grappler.
Mariah
I'm surprised that they didn't come out with that sooner.
Heath
I know. It's.
Mariah
It seems like something that's been out for years.
Heath
Yeah. So that's what it is. And then it just locks up the wheels.
Zane
Oh, wow. Oh.
Mariah
But they have to. They have to drive with that, though.
Heath
In front of their car, like, deploys, like, when you would need it.
Zane
It's like a bike rack that you just, like, fold up.
Mariah
Oh, it goes. It goes up like this.
Heath
Yes. And then if you. If you watch, like, a video that happened, it's really cool. Cool.
Zane
Whoa.
Heath
I don't know, it just reminds me of, like, something James Bond. Yeah.
Zane
It's a gadget. It's a gadget. I love myself a little gadget.
Heath
Oh. Or like, I want to get to the point where, like, you can, like, lock a car up by shooting, like, that little hockey puck onto it, like, electronic thing and.
Zane
Yes. Yeah.
Mariah
Oh.
Patricia
It's basically like you're roping a. Roping. Like a lasso. Yeah, it's a lasso.
Zane
Gotcha.
Patricia
That's actually cool.
Mariah
Oh, that is sick.
Patricia
That seems so that this seems like this should have been out since, like, the 10.
Mariah
Exactly. It's like the wild. It's like the wild wild west out here.
Heath
Yeah.
Mariah
Oh, that would suck. I'd be so annoyed.
Heath
That's so crazy.
Patricia
It is a lasso.
Zane
You got one shot though, to really nail that. If you up even.
Mariah
Imagine the panic.
Heath
Huh? Just imagine the. How exhilarating.
Zane
Yes. And then like, if you finally stop the guy on your high speed chase, are you done for the rest of the day? Like, my adrenaline would be through the roof and I'd be like, can I go home? There's no way I'm gonna just be doing traffic stops.
Heath
Like, you know like when you're. You're a kid and you're playing tag.
Zane
Yes.
Heath
And you are like running and somebody's right behind you like that.
Mariah
Like, why is someone running after you always faster?
Zane
Always.
Mariah
Why are they always flip it around and then the person trying to catch you is faster. What is it?
Heath
I don't know. There's something about it. But like, the adrenaline of like being chased is such a crazy feeling. Do you ever, like, in your brain, try to test yourself when you get home, how quickly you can open the door if somebody was like coming up behind.
Mariah
I do do that all the time.
Zane
Yeah.
Heath
How quick you could get the key out and like get.
Patricia
But I like. I like to play with it where I like drop the key just in case something were to happen.
Zane
My fingers. I'd be like, you have a finger.
Heath
Scratch scanner to get in?
Zane
Yeah.
Heath
No way.
Zane
Yeah. Finger scanner, door open, door closed, actually. Yeah. Just scans the finger.
Mariah
I feel like a lot of.
Zane
Yeah, they're pretty common. It's not like James Bond where like there's like bar.
Patricia
It's like a laser round drop.
Zane
Welcome, Mr. King.
Patricia
Welcome home.
Zane
But it's so much better than bring pulling out your keys every time to do it. You just go, boop. And you're in.
Heath
I've never seen that.
Zane
Yeah. And it can like. I have a memory of like four different like, people or gadgets. Gadgets. It's simple, right.
Mariah
You seem like somebody. That'd be Inspector Gadget as a Halloween costume.
Heath
We talked about that.
Patricia
Cut that.
Mariah
What? Oh, really? You're gonna do that this year? Oh, next year. Okay. Oh, shit.
Patricia
Well, no, I have it saved on my Pinterest because I said it'd be really good for Heath. Like, that's such a fun thing for Heath to do.
Zane
Oh, yeah. What would you. How would you. Like you could.
Patricia
I. I got. I got easy to get the hat with the peacoat or the trench coat and then Just I can make like little things.
Mariah
It'd be really awesome if you were like flying into a Halloween party and.
Zane
You could be Dr. Claw. Isn't that like the evil guy?
Patricia
Yeah, he has like.
Zane
They have a live action they did with Matthew.
Mariah
Yeah, that was the first time.
Patricia
Yeah, the live action is the only one I saw.
Heath
Interesting.
Zane
Matthew Broderick's in the first one and then the second one, they shot it all in Pittsburgh.
Heath
I remember the cartoon.
Patricia
No, I've never seen the.
Mariah
Never seen the cartoon either.
Zane
But then Inspector Gadget 2 is like not good. Or maybe Inspector Gadget 3 is really bad.
Mariah
Oh, iconic.
Heath
Is that Ferris Bueller?
Zane
Yeah. Matthew Broderick.
Mariah
That's a good costume.
Patricia
So good.
Mariah
Yeah.
Zane
You know he's killed somebody. No, wait, what if you look up, Matthew Broderick was like in a car accident in Ireland when he was like younger in his like 20s days and apparently did kill somebody in a car accident. Got away with it.
Mariah
Was it.
Zane
It's like Caitlyn Jenner too. Like they. Yeah.
Mariah
Was it like. It wasn't drunk driver or any like that.
Zane
Right.
Mariah
It was more.
Zane
I don't know, I think alcohol was involved. I wish I had a little bit more knowledge of it. I'm just kind of zinging that out there looking at it if you want. But yeah, that is a weird one. Not. Did you.
Mariah
This is also like. This is like kind of dark. But did you guys hear about the whole situation where Ashton Kutcher, he was supposed to go on a date with this girl like, like this actress like back in like the 90s or whatever.
Heath
She's like a. In LA, aspiring actress. It was when he was young too.
Zane
And he like dude, where's my car? Days? Or whatever.
Mariah
It was around, around that era. And he got to the, he got to the date's house and this was.
Heath
He.
Patricia
He thought he got stood up cuz she wasn't answering.
Mariah
Yeah, he looked inside, saw like he thought it was like wine, thought it was spilled wine wine or something. And then he just like apparently left. Right.
Patricia
Cuz he thought she stood him up because she wasn't answ. So he left. Turns out she got murdered. He got questioned because he was the last person that was like in contact with her because he was on his way.
Mariah
Also they also have record that before the police were even called, Ashton Kutcher made two phone calls. One to one to his PR and one, two.
Zane
Oh, oh, wait, was it one of the Olsen twins?
Mariah
No, no, no, it was the guy in the 70s show.
Zane
Oh, Danny Masterson. Who's in jail.
Mariah
Yeah. So he made a call to him and his PR before.
Zane
Like, anything that's bad.
Heath
Ashton Kutcher, like, went to, like, court and everything and, like, had to, like, go in for questioning, testify, whatever. But, like, people are re bringing it up.
Mariah
So he could have possibly.
Zane
I don't think he would have.
Mariah
No, that's. That's what I'm saying. He could have possibly went, saw that she was dead and was like, oh, my God, this.
Heath
Didn't want to get involved.
Zane
Yeah. Because his career was just taken off and he was just thinking about himself more than the actual situation.
Mariah
Think about, like, in your position, if you came to pick up a date and she's dead in the house, immediate. Like, it doesn't matter what you. You call the cops, you are number one suspect.
Zane
Bring it on. Bring it on. Like, part of me, I just want that rush of, like, I think I did this.
Mariah
I'd be like, you did it. You did it. No, but that. That is so crazy. That, like, the coincidence. Yeah. Of the. That the same night, because he was.
Heath
Like, supposed to see her, and then he, like, got caught up or wasn't able to be there when he was. Said he was going to show up. Something like that. And then. And then she didn't respond, so he, like, just showed up. And I think the front door was open. I think he peeked in.
Mariah
Oh, did he?
Heath
I think so.
Zane
That kind of a similar thing happened. I think my dad would be fine with me telling it, but my dad. Have I said this story before?
Mariah
I don't think so.
Zane
Oh. My dad was at work. One of his closest friends at work. Did not show up for work that day. And it was very strange. And he was like, you know what.
Mariah
I think we have talked about?
Heath
Say it real quick.
Zane
His friend didn't show up for work. They were like, that's really strange. Do you know where your friend is? And he goes, I'll call him and everything. No calls. And he's like, this is so strange. He went up to his friend's apartment, reached for the door, and the door was already, like, open. And he. And my dad, to this day, he goes. He goes. He knew it. Something was wrong. And so he goes down to the. I don't know, the front desk of the apartment complex or whatever.
Mariah
Not going in first.
Zane
He did not. He did not enter the apartment.
Patricia
But my dad telling him.
Zane
Gut was telling him something was off. Off. And the cops come and they go into the apartment, and then they came back down and talked to my dad. And he goes, so you knew the guy who was living there? And he goes, yeah, I did. He's like one of my good friends. And he goes, well, I hate to bring it to you. He. He has passed away.
Patricia
Oh, my God.
Zane
His friend had a. His friend had a heart attack in his apartment, and. But, Mike, it was crazy that my dad, in his gut feeling, trusted it. Yeah. Yeah. Like, in that moment, the door was.
Mariah
Open or was unlocked.
Zane
It was unlocked. It was unlocked. It was unlocked. But he just felt this, like, that he should have stillness in the apartment and that just. He had this gut feeling and glad my dad didn't have to, like, see that for himself. He just trusted his suspicion. Something was off.
Mariah
Yeah. I'm surprised the cops even showed up for that, because normally I feel like they'd be like, well, just. Well, just. I feel like they wouldn't have shown up for that.
Zane
It was the 90s. I don't know. It was maybe like.
Mariah
I feel like now if I made a call like, that they'd be like.
Zane
But I feel like an apartment complex would also think, like, if something's weird, they want to get that figured out too. If.
Mariah
Yeah, apartment.
Zane
Yeah, for sure.
Mariah
Damn, that's really sad.
Zane
I know. So sad. Sorry. It was, like, kind of related.
Mariah
Was it. How old were they?
Zane
Like, the guy was, like, the same age as my dad, but it happened with my dad, like, when my dad was around 42 or something like that. Yeah, I was. I was in elementary school. So sad for my dad. It was one of his closest friends, but. Yeah. You didn't know?
Mariah
Insane.
Heath
I have a crazy story, but I don't know if it's, like, way too graphic and, like, can you make.
Mariah
Can you make it not as graphic?
Heath
I'll say it. If we. If it think it's too gross, then we can cut it. My buddy, paramedic firefighter, they show up to a house where somebody had, like, passed away. The guy had a dog, and they lived in the house. House. He shows up, the brother is there of the person that had passed away, and the dog runs out and is, like, licking the brother. Like, to see the brother excited, happy, whatever. They go in and see that the person that had passed away in the house was, like, dead for a while. And the dog had started to eat.
Zane
Oh.
Mariah
Oh, my God.
Heath
And the dog had just ran up to the brother and was licking the brother.
Zane
Oh, gosh.
Heath
And he couldn't tell the brother what had happened because he didn't want him to be like. He just did that to your brother and was just licking your face.
Mariah
Yeah. No, that's. That's trauma. That's just like an extra layer of trauma.
Heath
Yeah.
Mariah
Something you're thinking about all the time.
Heath
Yeah. Before we continue, we want to give a big thank you to our next sponsor of this podcast, Built.
Mariah
Attention listeners, if you're a renter as start taking advantage of Built if I were you. Here's the thing. We earn points on groceries, travel and practically everything else we buy. Mariah
That's right. Built points can be transferred to your favorite hotels and airlines and even the ones you haven't heard heard of. There are over 500 airlines and 700, 000 hotels and properties around the world. You can redeem your Built points toward.
Heath
And points can be redeemed towards a future rent payment and unique experiences that only Built members can access. So if you're not earning points on rent, my question is why not exactly.
Mariah
Start earning points on rent you're already paying by going to jointbuilt.com unfiltered that's J O I N B I L T.com unfiltered and make sure to use.
Heath
Our URL so they know we sent you. Again, it's join built.com unfiltered to start earning points on your rent payments today.
Mariah
Thank you Bill for sponsoring today's episode. We love you dude. Those paramedics see the craziest my mom would see crazy as know you gotta.
Zane
Have good compartmentalization for that, a good. A good therapist and a way of just leaving that at the door. Mad respect for anybody who has to see just tough stuff on the regular.
Heath
And then be able to turn it off when they get home.
Mariah
Yeah, just I feel like I'd be really good with that like doing a job like that and coming I'm being able to shut it off. I think I. I think I'd be able to do that. I think it'll. Cuz you don't know any of these people, right. I feel like when it comes to people, you know that's when you. They won't have you on the.
Zane
I can imagine being like a heart surgeon or.
Mariah
Sorry that. No, that's crazy just knowing.
Zane
In the anxiety of knowing that you're about to go do another surgery, like the next day and the next day after, and it's like even more intricate. And you got to do your research before. And just knowing that someone's life is just in your hand and it's so delicate is just so mentally.
Mariah
I wonder if they just get numb to it. Imagine being a heart surgeon for like 10 years and like, you're just. You're working on the next patient. But like, this is also like 50% survival rate or something. Like, is it.
Zane
They're prepared.
Heath
What's also crazy too, is like a lot of the emergency, like surgery doctors and things like that, they are on call all the time, 24 7. Imagine getting a call 4 in the morning. You're sound asleep. You have to get up close, rush over immediately. I couldn't imagine waking up and five minutes later I'm having to.
Zane
I know I can barely. You can't even drink, like that much.
Mariah
I would need to pre work out.
Heath
I can barely get myself up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
Mariah
Yeah. It is tough getting up like that.
Heath
Crazy.
Mariah
Oh, you're like. If you're on a crazy, like, car chase and you're trying to get away from the cops, like, what could you have possibly. I feel like, like, for. For it to be worth it. For me to be like, I need to. I need to now escape. Anybody in my way. I just push through. Is like, murder.
Zane
That's what you're running from. Or it's like you're a repeat like offender and you just don't want to go back to jail because you know, this second time you are.
Mariah
You're so screwed. Yeah.
Zane
And you're also at that point where you're like, it. I don't care if I'm going to jail. Might as well just have a little bit of hoorah because you're about to be behind bars.
Mariah
Yeah. Let me try to at least have a chance.
Zane
This is your last time to see the world. What?
Patricia
Brandishing.
Zane
Brandishing is showing off a weapon.
Patricia
Like, that's what he was wanted for. He was brandishing a firearm.
Zane
Flashed. Brandishing is just showing it that you have.
Mariah
Oh, yeah.
Zane
It's such a bizarre word.
Heath
Yeah.
Patricia
That is a weird word.
Zane
Brandishing.
Mariah
That's anything, right? Like a knife.
Zane
Ninja stars. Yeah. A man seen on this intersection brandishing.
Mariah
A bow and arrow.
Zane
Nunchucks. Is it nunchucks or nunchuck?
Mariah
Nunchucks. I feel like you won't get in trouble for nunchucks. Would you? Nunchucks. Is not like a. Oh, if you. If you pulled it out. Like, really.
Zane
If someone has nunchucks, I'm going the other direction, though. I don't want to get close, but.
Mariah
It'S just like that would your day.
Heath
Oh.
Mariah
Like someone professional with a.
Heath
You know what I always thought was going to be more common too, growing up was brass knuckles. I thought I was gonna see brass knuckles every day when I got old. I don't think I've ever seen a pair.
Mariah
Why don't we see a moment more?
Zane
I feel like they're like always in smoke shops or something.
Heath
Brass knuckles seemed like it was going to be something we would have to.
Zane
Deal with on a daily.
Mariah
You know what? They do kind of have it now for keychain. For like, girls keychains. So for protection. It's like almost a thing where you put your.
Heath
But it's also a weapon. Like, you can't. You can't have them.
Mariah
I feel like in that sense you're allowed because it's. It's almost like having pepper spray on you. No.
Heath
Yeah.
Zane
It's a little form of self defense. Just like.
Heath
I think brass knuckles are illegal.
Mariah
Not brass knuckles. Sorry. What I'm talking about is it's not like a full brass knuckle. It's like almost like a claw.
Zane
They hook it in and. Yeah. And they can also, like, poke you with it. Yeah. If someone got really close, you could just like.
Mariah
Yeah.
Zane
Pop.
Mariah
It would not feel good.
Patricia
In high school, my friend surprised me with matching brass knuckle necklaces. And I was so excited. And then she told me how she got them. She stole them from the mall.
Zane
Oh.
Patricia
And I felt. So did you return them? Guilty. No. I didn't know how. I didn't know how returning worked.
Zane
I.
Patricia
How was I gonna get to the mall? Like, I think I was like 14 or 15.
Zane
The.
Mariah
The. The. The diamond brass knuckles were so seen.
Patricia
So remember.
Zane
Yes.
Mariah
So see, I love that.
Zane
Tick Tock ban is switching subjects. Yeah. Well, now I didn't hear about it. So they lost. Remember? It moved on to the court of appeals for them to decide whether they were. And they lost. The Court of Appeals. And now they have to go to the Supreme Court to see if the ban will happen or not, though. It's. They say there's a deadline for January 19, but that does not mean the app will go away on January 19th. The thing that they want, the. They want to see that Tick Tock will sell off the American side of the business and so that America will have its, like, Own ownership of Tick Tock. Right, Right. But it also comes down to, to if it does reach, they'll ask for it to be delayed. And also president administrations and stuff like that. They want to. Will delay it, but everyone's like freaking out thinking like, oh the 19th. It's when it's all going to go away. It's not going, you know what go away on the night.
Mariah
It's actually possible because isn't. Didn't they ban it in Australia?
Zane
I. I can't remember.
Mariah
I swear I read like multiple sources that I saw was like, Australia has officially banned Tik Tok.
Patricia
Are they just mad that we get all our information from here?
Mariah
I think so, but pretty much freedom.
Zane
168 million Americans, that's like a third of America is on the app.
Mariah
Like I could literally see people riding hard if they ban Tik Tok.
Zane
Oh, everything I have saved too. The stuff I want for my future. Like fun little things I want to do with my kids. Like I got all this like organized board for my.
Mariah
Really?
Patricia
It's like every app in one. It's like Google Pinterest.
Mariah
Yeah.
Heath
It is great for like, like information googling. Like you just get like a quick little video. Like it's not like a 20 minute YouTube video. It's like somebody just luckily took the time to make a quick 30 second video explaining something.
Mariah
It's amazing. Like looking at restaurants because I hate like Google Images.
Heath
We go somewhere new, like we'll be like restaurants when we went to Eric Arizona restaurants, things to do in Arizona. And it's like somebody.
Mariah
It's really good because it's from the person's point of view. So it's like the most authentic.
Heath
It's not paid for. Like a lot of these like articles and stuff where these businesses pay just to like have it at the top as like a recommend.
Mariah
You know what? Sometimes they do get paid. Some influencer, you get paid to like do a little. They'll say, hey, we'll fly you out to Arizona. Why don't you do like top things to do in? Which is crazy that they even have deals like that. That's awesome.
Heath
There's deals for everything, man.
Mariah
But they never say that they're getting paid in. So people like get pissed. Yeah.
Heath
I always look up people that like rank national parks, like what their favorite ones are.
Zane
Oh yeah.
Heath
And like that's not like something that's paid for.
Mariah
Yeah, no, no, not that.
Heath
Because like it would just be like.
Zane
I just love seeing like a video of what I'm Gonna get into like, show me that hotel I'm staying at. Show me this restaurant. I want to see it. Yeah, but man, it's so embarrassing trying to like take pictures of your food or film yourself. Like, I always think like, oh, I'm gonna make a little video of me, go to the restaurant. Then you get there and you, you're like, I don't you.
Mariah
Right.
Zane
Even when you take a flash of your food, you're just like, this is so embarrassing thing.
Mariah
It's so embarrassing.
Zane
Do you take pictures of your food?
Mariah
Not anymore. I don't take pictures of anything anymore.
Patricia
I just only during the day. I would never turn my flash on for a restaurant picture because then even.
Zane
The flash makes it even look worse.
Patricia
You're like, I mean, I respect the confidence. I just could never.
Mariah
And you're like, imagine me in like publicly trying to film something. I'm just like, like pausing and fixing.
Zane
And yeah, everyone's just like, those people.
Patricia
Are good at like one and done one shot and you're done.
Zane
Have you all done a hot pot? No. What is that? It's you know like Korean barbecue or Japanese barbecue where you cook the meats in front of you. A hot pot is a way of cooking your meats. But you get to pick different like types of sauces, broths really. And then you put the meat in.
Mariah
I see this all the time on TikTok, but I've never, never eaten it.
Zane
So you get to like pick your broths. Like, you see how it's like in dividers and stuff and cook the meats that way you can also add noodles and veggies and stuff. You just cook it in the broth, in the broth. And you can get like a spicy broth, tomato based broth. You can do a little Tom Yum kind of broth.
Patricia
Is there. There's a restaurant out here.
Zane
There's a place called Heidi Lao. This is not an ad. It's down at Century City Mall. And this place is ran like an institution. It's like an apple store. There's so many fun. You can get your nails done. Like the, like some press on nails. They also give you freebies. And there's like secret things you can say. Like if you go, little fairy wants hot pot. They'll come like a sailor Moon, little wand. And if you say, do you think I'm a child? They'll bring you a little toy. What if you say, your watermelon is really sweet, they'll bring you free watermelon. Like there's all of These fun little phrases you can say. And they have a little.
Mariah
How big is this place?
Zane
It's huge. It's huge. Like, it. It's so clean. And they have a little sauce bar. You get to whip up all your little sauce.
Mariah
Yeah, yeah, that one.
Zane
Yeah.
Patricia
That's really cool.
Zane
I love Century State area. And they do a noodle dance. A guy comes out, he like, does a noodle, and the noodle never touches, like, the floor. And he just like.
Patricia
That's actually really fun. Damn.
Zane
Oh, I highly recommend it. Go take. Also, I asked Remy about it because Remy had done hot pot many times, and y'all should. She should take you to really walk.
Mariah
You through because she's never talked about this.
Zane
There is a bit of, like, a learning curve kind of where you're like, am I doing this right? Like, what is the best type of meat for the broth and stuff? Because you have an iPad and you're just kind of picking stuff. But it's delicious.
Patricia
This looks so fun.
Zane
It's really fun. Fun.
Mariah
Do you make your desserts like that too?
Patricia
I was going to say, dude, they do, like, little donuts.
Zane
You didn't order dessert. I don't think we. I think you can.
Heath
So is the. Is the. The broth. Is it like boiling to cook it?
Zane
Yeah.
Heath
And then you don't drink that broth. It's just for cooking. You, like, are you, like, cooking it in it and then you're eating.
Zane
It is just so much flavor because it's been cooked in the broth.
Patricia
Oh, my gosh. I need this right now.
Mariah
The noodles. Look at those noodles. I want the purple noodles.
Zane
Oh, go.
Patricia
Holy smokes.
Mariah
Is it as good as it looks?
Zane
Yes. Oh, my gosh. It's amazing. I mean, it's definitely still like, you know, when you do Korean barbecue, it's like you're kind of. Yeah, you're. You're doing it. Figure it out. I think after my third visit, I'd really kind of know what's the best. And I do watch all the tick tocks, see how people do their little methods.
Mariah
I love Korean barbecue, but there's always. It's always just one steak that I really like in the rest. So I always try all of them. And then there's always one that I'm like, damn it. I wish just that one I had this one.
Heath
There's that one place we went to in Toluca Lake, right by my old house. They had just opened it up while we were living there. It's like a Korean barbecue style joint. Unbelievable. And they do all. You can eat and you can pick whatever meats you want and they will just keep wa.
Mariah
Are you talking about Gayu Kaku? Yeah.
Heath
No, no, I love those places. Okuniku. That's the one by.
Mariah
Oh yes. That place is so good.
Heath
Very good.
Mariah
Damn.
Patricia
I want this all tonight.
Zane
Should we, we should do get a reservation though.
Mariah
My God.
Zane
I better be a little competitive today.
Mariah
What did you guys do this weekend?
Heath
This weekend? Yesterday. What did we do? Oh, you got your dress.
Patricia
I was just gonna say that. But there's nothing else I could say after that.
Zane
You said yes to the dress?
Mariah
You did?
Patricia
Well, I said yes to the dress months ago.
Zane
Oh wait, no, I did but she.
Heath
But, but they, they finished it and she got it yesterday.
Patricia
I got my dress yesterday, so I said yes a long time ago.
Mariah
Who has seen the dress?
Patricia
My sister, my mom and my bridesmaids.
Mariah
Wow. Is it beautiful. And Danielle, is it big?
Heath
Don't. I don't want to hear what it looks like.
Zane
Now you're, now you're in this state where like you cannot be on each other's phones or like you can't go through the camera rolls because like yeah.
Heath
All the pictures aren't dressed anything.
Zane
Patricia was like, I was a big, hey, can you send me pictures of last night? She'd be like no, no, no. Because all of her stuff was like about her dress.
Heath
She with it in a bag and I was still like.
Patricia
And I was like look at the bag.
Zane
Oh, you have it with you then you're gonna send it there. You're gonna carry it with you?
Patricia
I'm gonna carry it with me. Because when you go on the plane they could put it in a closet for you.
Mariah
I would not trust smelling that out. I'm grabbing that. Yeah, there was a. I, I, I remember seeing someone talk about how like she mailed her dress out and like didn't arrive the day.
Heath
Absolutely not. What you do, that would be awful.
Zane
You gotta whip it together, make something happen.
Heath
I think that was all we did yesterday.
Zane
I was watching Home Alone 3 last night. Man, such a good one. Hold on.
Patricia
With the kid with the long max ke.
Zane
Yes.
Heath
That was so good.
Patricia
The first one and the third one are my absolute favorite. The third one underrated.
Zane
Cuz the world is at stake. Cuz the nuclear codes are like on the chip. Like do you have the microchip or whatever?
Patricia
He's so brilliant. The little, the, the little art. What is it called?
Zane
The little RC car.
Patricia
The remote control car. Car.
Mariah
Normally going From Home Alone 1 Two great movies to a completely different cast.
Zane
Yeah.
Mariah
Home alone 3.
Patricia
Kid's an. He's an amazing child actor, though, that kid.
Zane
He's really good. Yeah. Scarlett Johansson's up in it.
Mariah
It's crazy. I didn't realize that until watching it recently. I'm like, oh, my God, that's Scarlett Johansson.
Zane
She is little in that, man.
Mariah
Who was the. Was the older brother somebody we.
Zane
Now. You wouldn't, like, recognize his face from any thing Insane. Oh, and the parents are so great. Mrs. Hess. Mrs. Hess. And he's doing all of that stuff with chickenpox. Like, yeah, man, if I was sick with chickenpox, I'd be like, I'm not doing.
Mariah
Like, that's so cool having, like, a movie like that.
Patricia
Cutest kid. He reminded me of the twins from Full House with that hair.
Zane
Crooks.
Heath
Is chickenpox this the same as shingles when you get older? It's like, part of chicken.
Zane
Chickenpox shingles is part is technically like a herpes. The variation of herpes.
Mariah
What variate. Like, how would you get it, though?
Zane
Would you get first Looks like that. But chickenpox, actually, there's like a vaccine now for chicken box. Kids don't get chickenpox like they used to. We all got chicken.
Heath
My mom was telling me they used to have chickenpox parties.
Zane
Yeah. You bring your kid over just to get it over with.
Mariah
Yeah.
Patricia
If my cousins had chickenpox, my mom would bring us over.
Heath
That's cr. Yeah, My mom told me they would, like, hope somebody got chickenpox, and then you could just bring them over and get it over to have it.
Mariah
When you're a kid, you don't want when you're older.
Zane
Yeah. Yeah. My brother and I have both had chicken poxy at the same time and stuff.
Heath
Crazy.
Zane
You couldn't pick those chickenpox, though, because they would scar. Like a chickenpox scar. Like, get on your face and you pick that it would.
Heath
Is it like something where it's like a. Like a poison ivy, where if you scratch it and touch something else, it jumps?
Zane
I think it just takes over your whole body.
Mariah
That sucks.
Zane
Yeah. Chicken pox.
Patricia
I don't think I ever had them, though.
Heath
All right, well, thank you so much for tuning into another. Ew. You got a boogie in your throat? Let me see.
Patricia
He could barely talk through it.
Heath

Listen up folks. Time could be running out to lock in a historic yield@public.com as of September 23, 2024, you can lock in a 6% or higher yield with a bond account. But here's the thing. The Federal Reserve just announced a big rate cut and the plan is for more rate cuts this year and in 2025 as well. That's good news if you're looking to buy a home, but it might not be so good for the interest you earn on your cash. So if you want to lock in a 6% or higher yield with a diversified portfolio of high yield and investment grade bonds, you might want to act fast.
Mariah
The good news?
F
It only takes a couple of minutes to sign up@public.com and once you lock in your yield, you can earn regular interest payments even as rates decline.
